We were self catering, found the hotel to be very clean and in a very central location but not noisy. Could not comment much on the entertainment as we only went once.

Where we stayed was fantastic
the only thing bad about the hotel is the food there any where else in the resort is fine however the hotel food is not impressive.
i would just like to say that the entertainers working there dan & bex are superb and i cant beleive bex is leaving shes absolutely fantastic there was entertainment every night with out a doubt and everyday they both did games all week while we were there, i would like to take this opportunity to thank thomson for the two bedroomed E Block apartment it was clean and had maids every 2 days, the bathroom facilities are brand new and the balcony was extended over the bar which was a bonus, fantastic place, fantastic holiday cheers!

We travelled early September and stayed for 11 nights. We stayed at the dreaded X block, but to be fare it was not as bad as some of the previous reviews. The apartment had the basic facilities and was clean. The apartment would have benefited greatly from air conditioning as we were rewarded with some hot weather. We had a 14 month old and were disappointed with the 'soft play room', it was basic and small. We were also disapointed that we had to hire a high chair for the apartment and horrified when it arrived. It took 20 minutes to clean and remove rotting food from under the covers. It was fairly quiet when we stayed and found no problems using the pools or getting sunbeds. The staff seemed friendly and helpful. Our child was a bit young for the entertainment on offer but the older kids seemed to enjoy it. The resort itself has plenty of restaurents and bars but don't expect to eat out cheap as your euros don't go very far. I would advise you to shop around for car hire before you go through the reps. I saved 60 euros by going into the resort and using a well known company.

We stayed at the talyot apartment block x, i have heard so many horror stories about this block that i dreaded going there, but i was really pleasantly suprised, the room was clean had everything you needed and the maids came every 2 days to clean and change towels and bedding, the green parrot club by the looks of it has been closed so there was no noise at all, i would recommend also if you go with younger children to use the x block pools, its has a deep pool for the adults and right below is the kiddies pool, both of which was never full all the time unlike the main pool which we found to crowded ( but if you like to be entertained by the reps during the day the main pool is where you will need to go) as the x block pool we found we enjoyed better as we just chilled out.
The entertainment in the night by the reps was excellent they are great with the children and also have to say a big thankyou to the girls in kids club they are absolutely fabulous with the kids. I would also recommend you take basic items of food with you from home as we found the local supermarkets really pricey on the most basic of items. All in all we loved our stay but maybe if we went back we would definatly hire a car next time.

we stayed in A block. lovely room perfectly adequate for 5 people. room very clean although very basic. very quite except for selfish people who came in at all hours of the night expecting others to be up becuase they were! the A block is located very near main pool. Extremely lively pool, too many inflatables and no respect whatsoever by certain individuals for smaller children, no lifeguard so be warned. this is the pool where you see the Reps, you dont see them anywhere else in the complex so keep your eyes peeled. we found the Reps to be very unapproachable and found they liked certain holidaymakers more than others! very unhelpful and vacant throughout! the main pool would have been more at home in an 18-30s resort such as Ibiza or Benedorm rather than a family pool! We spent our 2 weeks using the X block pool, lovely quiet pool catered especially for smaller children. not very busy as everyone seemed to be using the main pool. X block pool recommended. It does not seem as though Talyot appts have any regard for order in the complex as no rules were adhered to. children screaming around complex at all hours, adults charging around jumping in the pool at stupid o clock and noone to tell them off - lawless it would seem! Would not recommend this place for quiet family holiday.

The Hotel staff are very helpful and are always busy making sure the hotel/grounds are clean and tidy. Our room was basic, the utensils were in need of replacement and the towels were so badly worn and bleached they could not be used without taking off a layer of skin the process. We also found some roaches in our room, dead but there all the same they made us wary of cleanliness. The sad thing about this resort is the sun bed drama. You have no chancve of getting near a pool unless you are up and 'claim' one by 6am, and even then most will have been taken up, usually people leave towels out then dont even return to use them untilo late afternoon. If the hotel could crack this issue it would be a much happier place. Pools were good, grounds staff were always there picking up and tending to plants so the areas look well kept. I would urge anyone to double check the transfer times from the airport too. It took almost two hours as the rep said that we werent 'platinum customers' we had to wait until last to be dropped off as there was only one coach. This was a really difficult journey with children after a day of travelling and made us feel second class.

the apartments are set in colourful gardens we stayed in a 1 bed apartment, well equipped kitchenet, towel /bed sheets changed every 3 days, clean apartment lovely and clean generally, recetion staff extremly friendlt and helpful, this is a family hotel totally geared up for families (and i'm sure that if you have kids up to teens age its ideal),didnt seem to be any kids older than these sort of ages so my daughter (16) unable to meet new friends. 5 pools but all of them i found noisey and pool sunbeds were hottly competed for.
i stayed in M block (adjacent to the apartment reception/bar restuarant/kids pool/climbing frames/pool table and air hockey table) heres the problem, if youre in M block & want some peace to sleep dont expect any till after 2 am, kids running about screaming and the dreaded ping-ping air hockey till the wee hours

We stayed at Talayot X Block in June 2008 with 2 neighbouring apartments.

The pool areas were great and offered a variety of pools which suited us, our 4 year old daughter and her grandparents. Our daughter attended a couple of kids club sessions which she enjoyed, the staff there were friendly and facilities for the club seemed good. Reception staff were helpful and friendly too.

Our party was allocated 2 neighbouring one bedroom apartments. Unfortunately I would not stay at this accommodation again due to the apartments we were allocated. Towels were changed regularly but were often stained and dirty looking. Beds were poor and uncomfortable. We were unable to open the wardrobe doors more than half way without shifting the bedside cabinet and moving the beds. One of the electrical sockets in the main living area was not properly attached to the wall and the dining area light did not look particularly well wired in! The front door of the apartment would not remain closed unless the door was locked. The room was situated directly above the Green Parrot pub - luckily this appeared to be shut so no noise problems - but due to lack of use this meant that the outside areas below our room / at bottom of steps to access room were scruffy and not well maintained. About 4 days into our two week stay new curtains / bedspreads / sofa cushions were put in our room so I guess the hotel is still working on improving this block.

On a positive note, the kitchen did offer a hob, mini oven/grill, kettle, toaster and blender if you wished to cook for yourself. Flat screen TV also provided in room.

Unfortunately while we did not let all this 'small' issues spoil the enjoyment of our holiday the combined effect was that we were left feeling disappointed at the standard of the accommodation in comparison to the brochure / reviews of other blocks within the complex.

Just got back from the Talayot apartments with our three children aged 5,3 and 8 months.

The rooms were excellent, with very good facilities including two ring hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge freezer and a lovely bathroom with a bath, plenty of towels and a hairdryer. The apartment was cleaned regularly including new sheets and towels.

The complex is made up of small blocks of two storey apartments. We were in block F. This is about 100 yards from the pool. Far enough to not get any noise from the entertainment, but near enough to run back to get things you need. There was a nice grassy area outside where the children could play.

My only critisim of the room was that we had an inter-connecting door in our bedroom. We could hear everything that next door was doing which was a little annoying when my children were asleep and the neighbours came back later waking us up.

The entertainment is totally geared up for the kids with Dan and Becky working really hard to keep them happy. The "Big Fish Little Fish" song will stay in my head for ever I think! My children went to kids club a few times and really enjoyed this especially the face painting.
There is a large and small play area, an undercover area for the smaller children with houses and cars to play with and a sand pit.

We ate at the hotel restaurant a couple of times and the food was good value for money at 7 euros for a 3 course meal, much cheaper than some restaurants in the resort.

The hotel details said there was a charge for the sunbeds. We were never asked but if you want a sunbed you have to get up at 7am to put your towel on otherwise you don't get one. We were usually at the pool by 9.30am but most people didn't appear until late morning which was annoying that they had "secured" a bed and not used it all morning.

Overall a very good complex, especially if you like the holiday camp style of holiday.

The reception staff were helpful and friendly and all staff speak very good English, but it was nice to try out our bit of Spanish too, which I think they appreciate.

I have just read the previous review and cannot believe their comments. I am very fussy and do not agree. This hotel is entirely geared up for family with young children. My girls are 2 and 6 and they had a fantastic time. There is lots of play areas, small pools and the entertainers in particular Dan and Bexs worked tirelessly day and night to keep both children and adults entertained. I am not a lover of hotel entertainment but they were so good at it they even got me up dancing with the children 'Big fish, little fish' around the pool in the morning with my kids. The previous reviewer must of had a bad room because ours was spotless, in fact the bathroom suites, tiles etc and the kitchens were all brand new. We moved from a 1 bedroomed apt to a 2 bedroomd apt because the receptionist said one was available and both were of the same standard. The resort again is geared up to young children with most restaurants offering slides, bouncy castles and other childrens toys to keep them occupied whilst you finished your meal. This resort is not for couples or party animals. There is no rowdy bars, drunken yobs or touts trying to get you into bars and restaurants. It is so relaxed. The beach isn't the best as we saw lots of jellyfish. Overall though the entertainers kept our children happy during the day and even some of the evening entertainment wasn't as cheesy as they usually are. We would definately go back. We are only glad to be back as there was no Indian restaurants on the island and we wanted our weekly fix.

We stayed in X block. On arrival our room was very dirty and didn't bear any resemblance to the photos on the website. The sofas in the lounge just consisted of 2 very dirty, lumpy single mattresses. All the utensils were filthy, one of the saucepans even had dried in food on it! The toaster lead was burnt through to the wires. The ceiling fan in the lounge was on its last legs! None of the table lamps worked, and the hairdryer was also faulty. The whole place reeked of damp. The bedroom ceiling was moldy. I cannot comment on the restaurant or bar because given the quality of the accommodation I didn't want to risk it! The noise from the main pool is quite invasive. All in all I would suggest this resort is ideal if you have older children say 10 years upwards, but it offers very little for those with younger children - I certainly wouldn't go back there!

We stayed in block A which was in a nice quietish area. There was a little climbing frame outside our apartment which our children loved and we could watch them from inside our apartment. The pool was freezing which was a shame as we all love swimming, my eldest child went in every day (she didnt seem to mind the cold) and has come home with a stinking cold! The room was grubby we didnt sleep on the sofa beds as they were very stained. We all ended up sharing beds which wasnt ideal. We also had an ant invasion but once told about it the staff were very helpful and came with their spray. Childrens club was very good the reps were excellent whilst on duty. The entertainers were funny and my children loved them especially gorgeous greg and beutiful bex.
I would not use this hotel again because of the cleanliness. We hardly ever saw our reps and when i did see one she obviously did not really want to be there!

We have just come back from the Talayots a couple of days a go.
The apartments were in very clean good condition. We stayed in D Block apt 4. This was a perfect location as it was in the middle of everything, the main pool, the park area and the restaurant/bar.
It is a beautifully kept place. The cleaners came every 2-3 days and changed bed linen/towels etc. Only gripe we had really was the charge for sunbeds, only a small one but thats not the point, however, you do get a free drink with that.
You can do laundry for a charge of 5 euros for a token. It cost 3 euros to use the tumble dryer for 45 mins. You can hire an iron for 1 euro a day.
People with babies can hire highchairs/baby walkers/strollers for a charge of 2-3 euros a day.
Talayots is situated very close to the beech and the resort.
The staff were fab. Particularly Luis the bar man. He is fantastic. Every time we looked at him we laughed.
Jazzy Jenny, Gorgeous Greg, Hayley Hiccup, Super Sophie, Crazy Clair, Becs made the kids holiday. We loved you all.
Kids clubs were fantastic, we hardly saw ours.
We didn't think much of the magician, in fact we did'nt like him at all but the Freddie Mercury tribute and African feet show was fantastic.
The hotel food was a lot to be desired. I don't recommend you eat there.

This was our first time at the Talayot appartments, But after initally being given an appartment in 'X-Block' above a restaurant which was a smelly, dirty full of flies, We requested that we were moved straight away & our request was met with no objections. We were moved to Block 'D- 5' which was half-way between the largest play area on the complex (there were at least 2 others we found) & the main swimming pool, it was the perfect location. Maid service every other day and even cleaned the day before we checked out. Staff always seemed to be cleaning somewhere on the complex,or moving rubbish, pruning trees etc.Staff very friendly and the entertainment staff were brilliant, Didn't put the children in the kids club so cannot comment on this although they always seemed to be doing something throughout the day. If i hadn't of already booked to go to Disneyworld next year i would of booked on my return to go back to the 'Talayot'. Highly reccommended.

This was our second holiday at the tayalots being there last year, come back two weeks ago and have now booked for 2008.

the apartments were again very clean with maid service every two days. The grounds and pools were maintained every day, very clean.

The barbeque on a Thursday night is great value for money very tasty although we did eat one other night and was not quiet so good.

The staff were first class,in particular Pablo and Luis the bar staff.

The entertainers what canI say they again made our holiday what it was.....Fantastic all day and all night kept making sure we were enjoying ourselfs.

I traveled here with my husband and three children aged 2, 4, 8. We had such a great holiday everthing was perfect.

Brill location for getting food in the evening.

Accomodation was great never seen such a great kitchen in self catering even had a dish washer!

Complex was excellent 5 swimming pools and entertainment at the main pool all day if you want it. Kids club was great my two wanted to go all the time!

Entertainment staff from thompsons where on the go all day there was one who was new to the job but you would not have guesed it he was brill!!

Shame to come back but have been recomending it to all the people I know.

We stayed in S block which i think is the best 8 apartments with a pool to our selves very often there was no one beside it was like staying in villa but we could walk to entertainment.

All I can say is go!

Stayed at Taylots for a week with our 3 children. reading reports below I cant quite belive that people are talking about the same place!

Kidzone for the kids was brilliant Magic Mark as my kids would say is the coolest and the kidzone girls were fantastic!

Jumpin Jenny the rep bent over backwards to help us throughout our stay and my wife enjoyed talking the ears off her the poor girl but truly a credit to her company.

Two entertainers who said they hadn't work together all season and had only just been put together this would be my only gripe as they work brilliantly together. Desperate Dan was funny and seeing him in a dress I nearly wet myself and Hyper Hannah has to be the best bit about the place. So frendly and caring and again a real credit to the company. If you see this Hannah say hello to Caveman Carl who I think was a rep?

Overall a brilliant holiday that I would recommend to anyone.

I was staying by the pool and it is kept very clean.

We were checked in very quickly. Our rooms were across the road in R block. They were quite modern and clean. Even though we should have only had 2 one bedroom apts we were actually given 2 two bedroomed apts on the ground floor which was great for the two elderly. Plenty of space and the bathroom was very big. The linen and towels were changed twice during our one week stay.

We never ate at the Talayot so can't comment on that.

Entertainment was ok.

Pools were great.

Would stay at these apts again. Was a bit concerned after reading other reviews but it was great. No problems whatsoever. Thanks Taylayot for a great holiday.

Stayed at the hotel on a self-catering basis so cannot comment about the food, although heard that it was good.

The location of the hotel is good - just a short walk from the resort centre.

On arrival was given a room in X Block but asked to be changed straight away, we were given a room in B Block which was fine, spacious and clean. We did have a problem with ants (even on the 2nd floor) and informed reception who dealt with the problem straight away. Upon returning home my son was diagnosed with severe impetigo which having read other reviews from this site he has contacted from the hotel pool.

I would not use this hotel again.

Just arrived back from a week at the Talayots. On arrival we were told we were staying in the notorious 'X' block, (X33) as previously reviewed. However, looking at the site map we were given, X block isn't wholly situated above the pub and not all affected by noise. We were not affected whatsoever by noise.

During our week stay the towels were changed once, linen only on arrival, and floor was quite dirty towards the end of the holiday, so not sure how often the floors were cleaned.

Location of the apartments was very good. Within easy access of restaurants, good supermarket and bars.
Because of the resort layout, the beaches of Cala'n Blanes, Cala'n Forcat, Cala'n Bruc and Cales Piques can all be reached within 10 minutes walk.

Reception is open 8am to 10pm. Staff were helpful and spoke good English. Check-in was all very quick too and we were shown straight to our apartment even though there were quite a few other people checking in too.

Can't comment about hotel food or entertainment as we went out of the complex every night, but there seemed to be a lot happening.

Just returned from a weeks stay at the Talyot, 1st impressions were good, reps and staff really friendly, excellent location with a Spar supermarket just over the road(which is quite reasonable)until we were shown to our room K1. It was dark damp and stinking not what you want with a 6 month old baby in tow, but spoke to reception and we were moved straight away to Block F room 5, and it was lovely newly refurbished plenty of space just what we were expecting.

Beds were really comfy, cot and mattress for baby were in excellent condition and also from reception hired a baby walker 2euros per day and a travel cot to use outside as a playpen for 3euros a day which kept baby happy.

Pools were clean and ideal for little ones, and plenty going on for the older children/adults such as quizzes, tug of war and chicken licken to name but a few.

Plenty of sun loungers although there was a charge of 1 euro 75 for each bed but you got a free soft drink from the pool bar for that.

Didn't eat in the hotel but spoke to plenty who did and said it was very good. Lots for children to do Kids clubs seemed really good although my little one was too little to join.

Hotel entertainment average aimed at the kids who all seemed to be enjoying it.

Only gripe is that if you empty your bin before the cleaner does they ask you to put the rubbish in "The green bins" meaning the big wheelie bins outside the hotel but unfortunately this is the colour of the small waste bins located around the complex and everyone tries to cram their rubbish in them so the poor little pool boy seems to be constantly emptying them.

We had a really nice time and would go back next year especially as little one could join in a little more.

Just got back from a superfamily holiday in these apartments. Enjoyed the week but were far overpriced to what they actually were woth compared to what we have stayed in with first choice and airtours.

Never seen so many ants around the appartment-not the only ones to complain. Reps very welcoming and friendly along with the others that stayed in there with us.

Food ok but beer lousy and flat and expensive. Ate out everynight and some very good places to eat-check out Giovannis and Pepes bar for about the best.

I had high expectations of the Talayot Apartments, but came away not knowing if I had enjoyed myself or not as I have a problem with cleanliness, and I have to agree that the Talayot is not very good at keeping the grounds clean and tidy - considering how many people was there at the time of our visit.

Our room was in the B block - right next to the sandpit and there was lots of cat mess in there so it would be difficult to let your kids in there knowing that it was full of that!

Great entertaimnment team there - good night time shows if thats your sort of thing, we ate out every evening but didnt eat at the apartments but that was a our choice, people we met loved the food there.

Cala Forcat is great for families and we would go back there but stay somewhere else I'm afraid.

I would say that these apartments are overall great for families but they have a few down sides that would stop me for me going back!

They are in a great location, close to shops, fun park and a great selection of restaurants, all of which serve the same food! Which is ok if you have kids as they like the same stuff every night but it could be a bit boring for adults who like to eat different food while on their holiday.

I felt that I had been lucky with the apartment that we got (B1) right next to the main pool and was in a quiet area….but the X block from what I heard was a nightmare - so be warned! This block is above a pub that plays music until 4 or 5 in the morning, and the manager will not move you!

In the 2 weeks that we as there our sheets were changed twice! That maybe ok to some people but I thought it wasn’t enough! Especially when there is 6 of you there!

Didn’t eat in the restaurant there but it looked good and was told it was good, we walked into the main strip every evening, great selection of inflatable for the kids to go on for while the adults have a drink and relax (if at all possible).

Only caught a few rep shows but they were fine, aimed at the kids mainly but still good fun. I have now had it confirmed by my doctor that my four year old has impetigo - which I can see someone else has reviewed!

I’m not happy as you can imagine as you don’t go holiday and expect that your children will get something like this! So everything that I liked about the holiday has been forgotten as I’m too concerned about my child!

Talayots need a good clean up generally; bins not emptied regularly enough and cat poo in the sand pit.

Stayed in Block A, room upstairs - ideal if you have a toddler due to ground floor patios not being enclosed. Apartment old fashioned and we had loads of ants, especially at night.

Towels and beds changed every 2-3 days. Hotel food was good and reasonably priced.

Reception staff very helpful and spoke good English. Kidzone Rep Magic Mark was brilliant and very enthusiastic.

Entertainer Naughty Nessie was fantastic with the kids and adults, an all rounder and the best thing at the Talayots.

On first arrival to this complex we thought it was not too bad, then we got showed to our room M1, what a dump!! Very very dissapointed for the price we paid, the window was rotten in the bathroom, very old fashioned and lots of little visitors (ants)! We were right next to the entertainment room which belted out till 12.30 everynight so our toddler had plenty of sleep (not)! Also M1 is right next to the baby pool (which was fine, or so we thought) we tried to let our son have his first expereince of a pool but due to the fact of older kids running and jumping in it was not a pleasant experience (there were 3 other pools for the bigger kids) it was also dirty and noisy at night when the fountain came on!!

The food in the hotel was well below average.

The hoteliers did not think about where they were putting people as there were so many complaints, an older couple we met were put in X block above the parrot pub which belted out till 5am!!

We also went through the reps to hire a car, oh my word you should have seen the state of the inside, the child seat we had to fit ourselves and was pitted in baby sweat and all the seats, front and back were covered in white sweat marks from previous punters so we had to have towels to cover the seats before we could sit on them, yuk!

We will never use Thompson Superfamily again!

I had read on other sites on the Internet about the notourious X block, and the Green Parrot pub. Unfortunatly we were placed in X34, above and right of the pub which belted out dance music till 4-5am. Reps deny any knowledge of problems and were unable to move us.

Owner of the hotel also owns the bars and pub so will not do anything as he's making money from them.

Room was clean and the linen / towels were changed twice in the week we were there.

If you wanted a sunbed near the main pool then its a 7am towel run, but you could get one at the small pool till around 10am. Large pool was manic anyway.

Small pool with fountain had been taken over by adults with water pistols, ok for the first day but got on your nerves after that.

Entertainment was fair although the Parrot show was just about making money from photo's.

The resort was great for my daughter as everywhere had play areas, so would go back, just not to the Talayot.

Our apartment was fantastic!! Staff at apartments were really helpful and friendly, always busy, but would do anything to help you.

Apartment clean, the maid came in every 2 days to change towels and bedding. Our apartment was close to the entertainment, but not loud enough to disturb us. Pools were well maintained.

Reps were brill, especially Hyper Hannah, Snazzy Sarah, and Magic Mark (who would love some Warburton bread if anyone is going there).. kids loved the dancing every night, and the entertainment that was on.

We stayed at the Talayot Apartments in August this year - and had a wonderful holiday.

Our accomodation was away from the bars and entertainment and was set in a peaceful cluster with play equipment for the children close by. If you have a young family, it may be a good idea to try and ask in advance for a quiter location, as I imagine the accomodation close to the bars and entertainment could be noisy. Our 1st floor apartment was lovely and clean, spacious with a large, sunny balcony.

A good tip if you have children who are prone to wander would be to ask for 1st floor accomodation as the ground floor patio doors led straight out onto communal gardens.

The main pool did get a bit hectic and noisy for our liking during the day, however with four other quiter pools to choose from this was no problem.

The kids club was fantastic and the children's entertainment in the evening was second to none. All the staff were super friendly from the bar staff to the domestics.

The position of the talayot was good, with many lovely restaurants just a stroll away, the restaurant at the Talayot itself was great too if you fancied staying local.

We found a lovely sandy cove a short walk away, it was quite small and became rather busy. If you prefer to spend days on a long sandy beach, you may have to go further afield.

All in all this was a fantastic holiday which the whole family enjoyed. We would visit the Talayot again.

I was very dissapointed with both the hotels cleanliness and the location . The room wasn't clean and had poor hygene both in and out of our room . The noise level was horendous , as our room was right over the entertainment and it went on until about 2.0clock in the morning , leaving us with the lack of sleep and rest . People were dispespectfull , as there children were runninig about making a large amount of noise and discomfort to other people in the complex trting to sleep or prepare for a long journey home . I am sorry to say but this hotel is for people who have low standards in hygene location and for people who dont want to sleep on this holiday !!!!!

We have just come back from the best holiday we have had for along time.

The Talayot apartments is a lovely complex with 5 pools to choose from during the day and fantastic entertainment in the evening we couldnt ask for anything more.

Bar and reception staff are friendly and helpful, the cleaners always seemed to be there with fresh bedding and towels cleaning our apartment.

The children loved the kids club winning prizes and having fun at the chocolate party they do an amazeing job.
We couldnt fault the Thomson team epecially the reps Guy , Karen and Laura.

They were always there morning and night and directed us to all the near attractions.

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at the Talayot Apartments. We can't praise them enough!!

We were located in C block which was a great location - near to everything. Our apartment was clean, well equipped, spacious and comfortable. Two fans, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom - so you don't need to hire a fan like we did!!

The complex was kept very clean and tidy, and was very pretty with lots of palm trees and shrubs. There are a few talayot stones too!! Its like a little white washed village!!

We only ate in the complex restaurant once and it was fine! The bar staff are very good at their job and worked very hard. There is always someone walking around to collect new orders if you're watching the entertainment too.

The Thomson team were friendly and helpful, and the entertainment team were excellent - full of energy!!

During the day, there are loads of activities arranged which tend to happen around the main pool, there is something for everyones taste. If you want peace and quiet then there are 4 other pools to choose from.

Th entertainment at night was also very good - more aimed at the family's though but still worth watching! There were 3 professional acts a week when we were there - all very good! John and Adam (entertainment team) were fantastic and really make sure everyone has a good time!!

The location is great, close to 3 small coves which are all worth visiting - take your camera!! Plenty of good restaurants nearby, our faves were Giovanni's (at the back of the apartments) and Los Delphine's. Lots of shops and bars too!

The first time I walked into the room I became deeply disappointed and thought what a dump it was. For the amount of money we paid, it was ridiculous and wasn't the value of money we expected to get, although it was a late deal many people who was on accommodation on arrival were put into a three star hotel that had air conditioning and was quiet and most of all was clean !!!!!

The decor was old and the place looked liked it needed fumigating the balcony was filthy and looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for many weeks or years.

The entertainment went on until 2pm in the morning, and you couldn't sleep even if you wanted to .

The rooms were dark and dingy and were filthy, I wouldn't even put a tramp in it!!!!!!!!!!!!

The music was loud and very inappropriate for at least 12pm.

We were told it was a three star but saw a better standard of a three star hotel that was clean and had air conditioning.

I would never go back there again, even if I was desperate, and are very surprised that they even get guests staying there !!!!!!!!!!

Having just returned from a two week stay at the talayots i would return again. We booked a thomson superfamily and travelled with some friends for a two week stay and we werent disappointed.

When we arrived we were shown to our room by the reps and had room number K1A which was situated right next to the main pool so we didnt have long to walk to get in and out of the pool. There are five pools in total around the complex but we only used the main one as it was right next to our apartment and it was where all the entertainment took place during the day.

The reps were great kept you entertained all day long and they were helpful and Friendly so were the bar staff they were always happy to help you. BBQ night was great especially when the bar staff stand on the tables and pour alcohol down your throat to see who can drink the most we must have drunk about 3 jugs of sangria between two of us as it was free flowing all night.

The entertainment during the day was excellent there were pool side quizzes, water sports, diving and even a reps verses guest day where they challenge all the guest to a competition in the pool. Adam and John were great worked all day long and into the night with bingo and your family fun games.

The resort itself had plenty to do, we are 18 and 19 years old and we were entertained with the bars and nightclubs that stayed open til 6am everynight. The square was good there was live entertainment nearly everynight of the week and there are plenty of bars and seats to accomodate everybody.

We ate out everynight and we found the restaurants near the roundabout to be the best haiti, los delfines and the one next door.

We went down to the diving cliffs everyday and its and amazing view across the sea and the spanish locals diving are amazing a must see!!!

Overall we had a great holiday and would like to return maybe in a few years time.

We travelled with Thomson on a late deal, as we have done four times this year. The talayot was one of the possible places we might have ended up last time, but because the vista picas where we went was so good, we thought Thomsons couldn't put us somewhere crap..........we were wrong.

When we arrived we were shown to an upstairs apmnt which was small and dingy. When I walked out on the balcony the floor was giving way under me, so we asked to be moved, as It wasnt safe.

The reps were great as always and moved us to all that was available-the closest apmt to the bar/restaurant, which was all of around twelve feet from the kids pool.

The noise from the pool, with its water fountain, coupled with the noise from the drunk halfwits who found it necessary to scream at each other until around 2.30 am was so bad that my toddler and missus could not sleep.

So we complained again........and were moved after two nights in the racket.

I just love pulling heavy cases in 100 degree heat.
again.

The apmt we were moved to was very nice and recently refurbed. But it was right next to the snack bar and main pool so we had music all day long thumping out, and the evenings were filled with the delightful sound of drunken teenagers rowing and having protected sex on the snack bar balcony, and nearby kids apparatus...........I know the sex was protected because they were kind enough to leave the condoms on the grass near our apartment. Lovely.
So thoughtful.

To top all this off the pool was filthy , with a big tide mark of dirt all round the top. My toddler went in it and we had to get the doctor out as she developed a rash which was contact dermatitis from the filth. Luckily, neither of us adults were affected.

We therefore went to the vista picas to swim, because its clean .

This complex is a superfamily one, according to thomsons , but I would rename it ' super chav '.

In short....the rooms were crap , its full of scrotes , the pool will give your kids a rash , and the food was verging on swill (especially the breakfasts) .

I will not return .......ever.

Minorca is wonderful, and the Thomson reps are fantastic, but go to the Vista Picas....its far far nicer.

Talayot was fantastic, clean, friendly and had everything you could possibly need as a family.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful, infact I don't know when they slept, they were around first thing and still there at midnight, Unbelievable!

Five pools, always something going on for all ages, yet always somewhere quiet to relax. A tip for people with young babies and toddlers, the main pool has a good little pool but get there early if you want a bed poolside to keep a close eye.

The snack bar by the main pool had good food and it was fairly cheap.

The supermarket across the road had everything Nappies, wipes, food (Baby and Adult!)..all English.

Will be going again.

After a bit of a slow start when our teenagers thought the only other children here were toddlers, by the end of our fortnight we'd had a great time.

We stayed in two 1-bed apartments - kids in 1, mum and dad in the other - fantastic for all of us!!! These would be quite small if you have 4 people staying together as the entire lounge area would be taken up by sofa beds. The kitchen was well equipped compared with similar places I've stayed at before - a 3 ring calor gas cooker with an oven and separate grill, full size fridge freezer and a microwave. Safe in the bedroom which I always consider a "must have". Patio/terrace on both upstairs and downstairs apartments were of good size.

We were in Block H which was near the main pool and ideally situated. The whole complex has a feeling of space being set in a garden style setting with plenty of palm trees (and Talayot stones). There are 5 pools dotted around the place but we stayed near the main one. Sunbeds cost E1.50 per day, but you got afree soft drink voucher with that and we never had a problem getting beds at any time - no need to set alarms at 6am !!!

As far as entertainment goes, our kids were too old for the clubs and the evening fare seemed to be targeted at the younger ones. The entertainment team were very enthusiastic - the bit we joined in with was the daily games in the pool and the football which were fun. The resort speciality game was Chicken Licken which drew the biggest crowds - you'll need to go to find out what it's about.

The resort staff were on the whole very helpful - especially the ladies on reception - we had a couple of minor problems with the apartment and each time we reported them, maintenance had fixed it within an hour.

We tried the food a couple of times but didn't think it was up to much - a tip though - if you're quite peckish, order one of the kids meals - decent portions for only E3.00. There is a weekly BBQ that costs E8.50 for adults - we didn't go but it looked good and other guests said what a good night it was.

Whilst I wouldn't go there again myself as it's a bit too orientated towards younger children, if you have under 10s I'd thoroughly recommend it.

This place is well worth a visit and we are hoping to go back next year, (which I always said I would never go to the same place twice)

Just returned from 10 night stay in the Talayots and had the best holiday ever!. Everything was just right and my two sons (aged 5 and 7) didn't want to go home.

The appartment was clean but we would recommend opting for a 2 bedroom appartment as it was just right for 4 and made all the difference plus ground floor(we stayed in p block) as it had a good size terrace and it was near the toddler pool which was still fun for my 2 and it had a fountain and the children loved spashing about in it. The kids clubs are brilliant.

All staff gave 100% and Liam and Emma were in a class of their own (looking forward to seeing Ryan and Liam on childrens Sat morning tv!!!)

Would recommend going on the "beach bonanza" trip as Son bou has a fabulous beach.

We spent last week at the Talyot Apartments and a week we will remember for some time.
The apartments were on the small side but hey with weather in the 100's you dont spend long in them anyway. Thank goodness for the fans in the bedroom and lounge area! The kitchen area was extremely small and although had basic cooking utensils it was only the toaster and kettle that got used in ours!

We were in block x, not the best by any means,a little noisy from the road outside, the pool that services that section only had limited area around it for sunbathing so we used the one in the main area and whilst it had been partly re-furbished we understand that other apartments looked and felt a lot newer and brighter than ours.

If we went again we would definately request being in the main area, this is where the nicer apartments and gardens are.

We took our youngest, girl 15yrs, without her older brother and sister and we thought she would be bored. Couldnt be further from the truth. Although she was too old to take part in the childrens activities she certainly made full use of the adults entertainment. She made friends of the reps who being young and energetice themselves kept everyones spirits alive and full of anticipation of what was coming next!
Top scores for Liam (entertainment rep) he was a delight to be around. Polite yet full of energy and willing to be part of your holiday.
What more can we say, the pools were busy as you can imagine being school hols so the times when the kids were off doing 'club' activities was a welcome respite!
The charge made for the sun lounger is a little petty but you do get a drink from the snack bar.

Given all this would we go again? if we could guarantee Liam being there, yes!! without him, dont know, not all reps are the same are they.

We've just returned from a two week stay at these apartments and as I was looking for all information I could on them before I went, I thought I would write a report here for other members.

When we arrived at the apartments the first impression was very good. The reception area was nice and the baby pool and kids playground was very welcoming for my children.

The apartment we stayed in was a bit on the small side for 4 of us, especially the living area and the balcony, although we were in an upper floor apartment and I know the ground floor terraces were much roomier. The apartments were cleaned every other day which was good although the maids didn't seem to like parting with much toilet roll !! The cooking facilities were clean but basic which was fine for us as we prefer to eat out anyway.

There are 4 pools in this complex and we used the one nearest our apartment which was in the X block. This was ideal for us as it had a deeper pool on the upper level and a shallower one for young children just down a few steps. The pool and the surrounding area was cleaned every morning. There was a small charge for sunbeds - about £1 per day which included a drink from the bar - this stopped people taking sunbeds for children who never used them. We had an excellent time around the pool as at around 5.00pm each day the giant waterpistols came out and everyone joined in a massive waterfight (it has to be said that the men were the worst culprits !!).

The entertainment in the apartments was very good with a variety of shows over the fortnight. A special mention has to go to the reps who were very friendly and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them - I have to say they were the best team of reps I have ever met while on holiday.

All in all, a great complex for families.

Apartments were very clean and spacious.Ideal size for two childern aged 4 and 18 mths.Very impressed with the fans in each room, made the hot nights much more comfortable.

Only complaint with accomodation was that the ground floor apartments had terraces that were not sectioned off,my young children could get to the pool and rest of resort if on the terrace. As a result we had to leave terrace door shut.

Apart from that, very nice.Noise from playground slighty OTT but that was due to the fact that we were right next to it!

The apartments are of a good size, however there is a constant damp smell throughout. The sound proofing is non-existent and if you are in a downstairs apartment then you will certainly hear the people above you if they venture onto their balcony - its directly below the main bedroom! The swimming pools are fairly small and the sun loungers are backed up in rows as there are buildings either side which prevent a good walk around area. It seems they have tried to squeeze the pools in and not thought about the ambience of the place. I've been to far better pools and would say this is one of the worst. The hotel is situated on a 'main road' so to speak, but we didn't find the traffic a problem or overly noisy. We have been on other superfamily holidays and felt that we could base ourselves in the apartments mainly with the odd trip out every now and again, however with this set of apartments, we would have gone mad.
Thats the main complaints out of the way, so on to a few good points - the reps are excellent and the kids really enjoyed the clubs. The nearby supermarket was reasonably priced, although fresh bread is hard to come by.

me and my family enjoyed our stay at the complex. we stayed at the c section of the complex, we was right in the thick of it and no complaints at all.

the reps luke and adam was excellent they really gave it 100% every time they went to do there job,i really enjoyed waterpolo which everyone joined in.

the hotel staff, raquel was a real helpfull girl will do everything to help you in anyway possible, then they was antonio the waiter fantastic man all the staff excellent i would recommend it to anyone to go there,i will certainly go back.

the rooms are spacious and well looked after bright and have all mod cons. the location of the complex was good, you got a supermarket on your doorstep with all your well known brands and fresh bread, there is a waterpark about 5mins walk to the right of the complex which is fantastic for all ages and very good prices and not a rip off once you are in there.

there are lots of resterants to try out all with in 1 mile stretch on both sides of the road. i will deffinatly be going again in september 2005 with my family again.

Visited the Talayot Aug 2003. In our party there was 2 adults, 1 child (13) and 2 infants (18 & 4 months).

The complex is split into 3 sections, all with there own pools, although you can use any of them. There is a small charge for the sunbeds but if you had no change on you, the guy wasn't really bothered. We were in X block, which is at the back of the complex, and I think we got the best place to be. It was very quiet and you could get a sunbed no problem. The apartment was really nice (I have been in worse). The utensils, like pans, were brand new and there was even a hairdryer in the bathroom. We only asked for 1 cot but they gave us 2 which we thought was good. However, some of the apartments in the main block have been refurbished (they are really nice!!!) and they also have extras like microwaves and ovens.

The bedroom was very hot on a night time but you can hire fans really cheap. You can also hire buggys, highchairs and towels etc when your there.

Main moan was entertainment for children not in the 3-12 age range. There's nothing for the older ones, we assumed there would be things for our 13 yr old to join in but there wasn't. Lots of soft play areas and slides for the young ones and theres an area full of Little Tykes bikes/cars/houses.

Usual holiday entertainment in the bar area every night and the main strip in Cala Forcat has lots of restaraunts and bars.

Really enjoyed this holiday and would definitely go back

We found the apartments to be basic but clean, no one ever said it was 5 star, we had a 2nd floor apartment and never saw 1 ant or anything else with more legs than me (2). The pool and sunbathing area were always cleaned every evening and the main pool where we spent most of our days has been repainted and now has the depth of each section painted on the side, no flaking paint here !

The Thompson reps were superb, from Rosie and Ben at the reception who always had the info required, to the Kidzone reps, (Rob, Shelley, Mandy, Kay'd & Tasha), they were excellent with the kids. Last but not least the entertainment reps, Paul & Suzy, 1st Class. As an entertainer Paul is the benchmark by which all reps should be judged.(even if he is A Stoke City fan).

The apartemnts around the main pool are the ones to be in if you want to join in with the daytime activities, blocks A, B, C, D, E, F, H & K are situated around this area, Blocks R & X are situated across a small road away from the main complex, although they do have their own pools, there are 5 pools on site all to an equally clean standard.

We were in Block F this time, which backs on to the L'ancora restaurant and we did hear a small amount of noise from here, disposing of empty bottles at closing, NOT rowdy noise, and not enough to wake the kids.

The resort itself is ideal for kids, there is an excellent waterpark about 5 minutes walk from the Talayot, well worth a visit. The restaurants around the resort all serve a very similar menu and most things come with Chips, but we found the food to be good and everywhere had a kiddies menu. The Talayots own restaurant was also very good and if you got in earlyish you got a good seat for the evenings entertainment, which was usually of a good standard.

Overall a very good holiday, our children are 5 & 2, (nearly 3) and they had a great time, we will certainly be going back to this resort and these apartments within the next year or 2.

If you are looking for 5 star quality and a typically Spanish resort then this is not the holiday for you, if you are looking for an ideal base for you to relax and your children to be entertained then this IS for you.

What a disaster! Motor-scooters, Noise, Litter, Ants, even the odd dead rat.

Firstly, Thomson mixed our name up with another family at the departure airport. Then they allocated us to the wrong resort. We consequently missed the transfer coach, and arrived at the apartments to find no room allocated.

Eventually were given a room on the main road.

The noise was horrendous from the traffic, mainly teenagers on motor-scooters till 5am.

The resort was littered with rubbish, broken glass and discarded papers.

Never Again.

I am only 14 so adults may like Talayot better than i did but for others my age yous may not enjoy it very much. I have just returned home from two weeks staying at Talayot. Overall I would rate it as OK. I would not say it was my best holiday. The accomodation was fine the bar guys were funny and the food and drink was alright. Apartment was alright too. Although we were in M5 (Entrance next to main road) so it was noisy. We had to hire a car to get about to better places Cala n forcat doesnt have a decent beach only has a few coves that are small and mobbed. I wouldent rate the restaurants in cala n forcat my whole family was ill. I was the worst though I was actually sick and spent a day and a half in bed. The internet room was rubbish but thankfully there was a reasonable intrernet cafe nearby. The telly was good though they put on big brother, music channels..etc and the arcade games were also of an alright standard. I dont know if i would go back to Menorca theres a possible chance but i would not choose Cala n focat again. There was too many stuck up people at Talayot that was one of the main annoyances. Found a few ants about but we didnt bump into any @#%$ roaches! Luckily. Well thats all i can say i give it 5/6 out of 10.
