| said: Stayed at this hotel in June 2007 for 1 week, had such a good time we decided to return this year this time for 10 days - bad idea!!
We were still happy with the cleanliness of the hotel, the food and the excellent location. However, the hotel advertised as a family hotel, should now be advertised as an 18 - 30 hotel.
The hotel was full and I mean FULL of youths, with just the odd family. We were kept awake every night from 4am when the youths began returning from their evening out. The noise from the corridor, with doors opening and slamming shut, shouting and screaming was shocking. We were advised to ring 9 for security, which we did on a few occasions but nothing was done about the noise.
Last year my 10year old son was able to play in the pool with his airbed, ring and ball. This year it was 'not possible'. All such fun activities were banned, due to health and saftey regulations! However, it was ok to continuely serve drunken youths as the staggered to the bar for yet another beer, or vokda slush.
Families should seriously reconsider before booking this 18 - 30 hotel.

| said: Stayed in the Sol Magaluf for the Christmas and New Year fortnight. Our choice had been influenced by the many good reviews that we had read but we found it a dreadful place.
Let's start with the few good points:
The chambermaid service was phenomenal - they were the only cheerful staff and most days our room was made up by 10 am, sometimes even earlier.
There are frequent buses into Palma.
But.....
Magaluf is the pits.
The hotel is shabby.
Our room was shabby and very beige and uncomfortable.
The soundproofing between the rooms is non-existent - we were kept awake by our neighbours talking, snoring, peeing, watching tv, walking round etc.
The noise from the corridors is unbelievable - partly from lack of consideration (people shouting to each other etc) but also from simply walking up and down the corridors. I think the hotel had installed amplifiers from the corridor into our room.
We had asked for a quiet room but even on the 6th floor could be kept awake by the entertainment on the ground floor.
The food is dull, dull, dull, repetitive, usually over cooked and mimics trad British cuisine.
The waiter service in the dining room is surly and poor and we often struggled to get served drinks.
The bar service was not much better.
The hotel entertainment was fairly typical but was of a lower standard than I've seen elsewhere.
Being a Christmas/New Year stay, we had gala dinners (or so they claimed) - we had got a day out of synch and only realised when we spotted the date of the 25th Dec on our bus ticket.
This meant that we had attended the Christmas eve gala dinner without even noticing that it was a special meal!
Whilst we were there, the hotel was mainly geared towards older and infirm guests and often resembled a care home.
This wasn't a problem for us but must have been a struggle for the younger people and families who were staying there.
You can hire almost anything you want from the hotel shop - toasters, kettles, irons and ironing boards, push chairs, wheelchairs, zimmer frames, mobility scooters ......
My impression was that the public areas - especially around the pool where the space seemed quite limited - would be very cramped when the hotel was fuller.
I have stayed in hotels that were worse in many respects but managed to redeem themselves through being special in some way - fabulous location, charming staff etc. Not the case at all with this one -be warned!

Next door is The house of Katmandu, which opens in May, it was still a building site when we were there but we didn`t hear any noise.
The food is excellent, one of the best choices I have seen in a hotel. The desserts are fantastic, they have ice creams, cakes, jelly, fluffs even a hot pudding and fresh friut.Drinks in the hotel are not bad prices. A bottle of wine for 6 euros a glass for 1.5 euros, a pint 3 euros. cocktails 4 euros.Entertainment was ok, we stayed in most nights as there were a few children in for our son to play with.
The staff were all polite.
I would visit this hotel again.

| said: Sol Magaluf park is one hotel I would defintly stay in again. We went in December but all the facilities were open. The rooms were average but were very clean. The food was better and more quanity than I have had in even more expensive hotels. There was so much choice it was difficult to choose what not to have!!
Located within 200 yards of the nearest bars and shops but was not noisy. Most of the bars were shut but there were plenty open to choose from. You did not have to walk far to find one.It was nice to go to a bar that was not packed and rowdy.
Overall I would give this hotel 9 out of 10.

The hotel is fantastic. Yes, the food is sometimes repetitive, and some of the staff could smile a bit more occasionally, but I personally think you get that anywhere.
The hotel is very clean and is in an ideal location for the great local bars like Cafe Plaza and Britannia.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and can't wait to go back there in May and September this year

Food was excellemt with a great variety and plentiful, including things like bread and butter pudding and apple crumble.Entertainment team were very good and tried to make everyone join in.
The only downside of the holiday is that Magaluf is now a ghost town in the winter with many hotels closed, shops shut and bars all empty, streets are dark at night, would not reccomend the area in the winter anymore

| said: Arrived after a long day expecting the usual SOL hotel standard. This hotel didn't make a very good first impression. The reception staff may be quick and efficient but all had a personality bypass. They weren't rude as such but were very abrupt and totally miserable. I didn't see anyone smile at reception in the whole week we were there.
Restaurant and bar staff on the other hand were happy smiling pleasant people.
The food was actually far better than most 3* and 4* hotels I've stayed in,the carvery was exceptionally good, and there was a wide variety of food on display every night and not at all repetitive like some hotels.
Rooms were cleaned daily and we had fresh towels whether we needed them or not and the maids were very polite and cheerful.
We didn't use the entertainment provided but the animation team worked very hard getting people involved in games and sports throughout the day. I could see the board advertising a good variety of evening entertainment which seemed to go down well with the majority of guests.
On the whole this is a good hotel for a base, the food is excellent and the rooms are clean, I would definitely come back here again.

The food is superb and covers all tastes, and was cooked to a very high standard.
The rooms were very clean and with free TV and a much needed air ceiling fan available, this hotel is in my opinion top of the tree.
The entertainment was of a very high quality and standard and the entertainment staff were very good and involved all ages in their daytime activities.
The location is ideal for the family very near the beach (2 mins) and the family bars are located nearby (2 mins) but far enough away to be not bothered by noise.

We found daytime activities better than the evening shooting, archery etc, join in and have a go you will find it fun! loads of choice of bars doing reasonable food at reasonable prices, found the "fountain" at the end of the road very good, must "see" some of the tribute acts that appear there especially "Elvis" and "Lionel Ritchie" staff behind the bar very good and helpful on where to go what to see etc.also very easy to stagger "home" at the end of the night!
But do not just stick to the same bars walk in to Palma nova (5-10 mins) there is something for all tastes and needs. overall a great holiday but next time we are tempted to book ourselves as we went through a tour operator no complaints as regards service etc but we could have saved a lot of money, so my advice is price both and give it some thought!

The staff on the reception not very pleasant, the bar staff tried to short change twice, and they were always asking how much you gave them.
The rooms were clean but in need of some updating, i.e. no aircon, door lock was hanging off, wardrobe doors jammed.
We never watched much of the entertainment on offer but we spoke to many people that did, and they were not happy.
The dining room was terrible in that you had to wait for 10 min for a cup of coffee, at the machine in the morning there was only two coffee machines, two toasters for hundreds of people. When you eventually got your coffee your breakfast was cold. They just had to many people jammed in when you had your food. It was ok if you like cold eggs bacon etc.

Food was not the best, Ive had fish soup for nearly two weeks and meat was never cooked properly.
Location was fantastic main street right outside hotel but never had a problem with noise.
Staff were friendly apart from one! Entertainment was terrible met a few people there with kids who had to leave hotel when main entertainment started at 10:30 too rude for children.
No chance of a sunbed unless its raining or you set your alarm for 5am.
Would visit this hotel again but only self catering and if I didnt intend to spend a lot of time inside it.

| said: We stayed at the Sol Magalluf Park first week in April, the hotel I cannot fault, the food was excellent even my husband (who is a fussy sod) enjoyed it. I found the Hotel staff to be helpful and friendly, the hotel itself is situated right between Palma Nova beach and Magalluf beach both being only a five minute walk, the beaches were extremely clean and inviting, sunbeds cost 2.50 each for the day.
This was our first visit to Magalluf and I didn't know quite what to expect, I had heard it was full of young people but I was pleasantly suprised at how many people of our age (39 and 45) were there, though I expect its a different story for the height of the season.
I would definately go back to Magalluf and would strongly recommend the Sol Magalluf Park Hotel. As for the people who compained and complained and compained about the cigarette smoke, I can clearly state that there was smoking and NON SMOKING areas in the entertainment and recreational areas. All in all a brilliant holiday that I thouroughly enjoyed.

| said: We complained and complained and complained about the continual smell of cigarette smoke in the hotel. We could smell it all the time, except, of course, in the only non-smoking area; the restaurant. There is a so-called non-smoking area at the back of the audience, furthest from the stage, and this was in no way effective in keeping the smoke away from us. The same would apply in a swimming pool if someone happened to relieve themselves there - we would all eventually be swimming in it!
We did not see any cockroaches ourselves, but we heard from other guests who had seen some, and one man even took one to the management at reception and made a strong complaint about it. Nothing was done about it.
The bed was too hard for me, but I solved the problem myself, after failing to get the management to take action. We bought a beach airbed! With that on the mattress, under the sheet, I was able to get all the sleep I needed to make me bright and breezy for the next days trips and excursions!
Hotel Cleanliness: not bad, except for the smell of cigarette smoke!
Hotel Food: very very good! Excellent.
Hotel Location: handy for everything.
Hotel Staff: could do a lot better!
Entertainment: not seen any, due to smoke polluted area.
Visit this Hotel again?: No. We would not visit this hotel again because of the smell of cigarette smoke.

| said: Sol Magalluf Park Hotel - Magalluf - March 2004
Our first trip abroad and we have to say it was quite an experience. With hindsight we both say that we will go again, but we will do it differently.
Arriving at the hotel we became aware of the cigarette smoke pollution throughout the whole area of the foyer. We could not wait to get our keys. Inside the room, though, there was the smell of stale cigarette smoke from previous guests and it was coming from the bedding and the curtains. We found it difficult to get to sleep because of the smell. We told the tour representative and she got the hotel staff to change the bedding and the curtains. This removed the smell completely.
Our first night was bad enough with the smell of stale cigarette smoke, but there was another problem - I found that the bed was too hard. I placed coats and jumpers on top of the mattress but this did not help. Our representative told us to speak to the hotel management. They then asked us to report the problem to the housekeeper on the Monday. The housekeeper promised to place something over the mattress for me, but all they did was to fold up two of our allocated blankets and left them for me to put them on the mattress myself. We felt that the issue had not really been understood by the management.
On that Monday evening we visited the gift shop, located inside the hotel foyer, and they had some beach airbeds there, so we bought one, costing 5 euros. I put the airbed on the mattress, under the sheet, and I can report that this did the trick and I did manage to sleep well for the rest of our holiday. This story could stand as a guide to anyone who finds hotel beds to be too hard to sleep on and that this simple remedy could be the answer to all prayers for a good nights' sleep.
There was still the smoke pollution to contend with, though, and due to this we could not go to the bar or to watch the entertainment in the evening. The area is totally open-planned, right round from the stage, the public bar, the audience seating and finally, the foyer. The smell was just awful and there is no sign of any ventilation. We felt sure that this was wrong.
In the morning the smokers were there again, sitting in and around the foyer, and also near to the entrance to the restaurant. The restaurant is, thankfully, a no-smoking area, and this was one of the reasons why we chose this hotel in the first place. The food was delicious and plentiful and thoroughly enjoyable, but this euphoria was instantly quashed when leaving the restaurant, at breakfast and in the evening, and entering the smokers den represented by the rest of the hotel, via the foyer.
At the time of booking our holiday we had not known that smoke pollution was allowed everywhere else in the hotel, and we mean everywhere else, literally. The lifts smelled of stale smoke, and the corridor was also polluted. The smell of smoke came from different rooms, all having badly fitting doors. The cracks around them let out the fumes into the corridor, and subsequently, into our room. It was a constant annoyance.
We bought an anti-tobacco spray to neutralise the smell. It worked for a while, but at night, before sleeping, we hung towels from the doorknob and packed the gap under the door with our clothes, due for the washing machine. It was quite an experience to discover how much this smoke pollution from cigarettes had affected our holiday. This hotel is not the kind of place we intend to stay in on our next trip to Majorca.

The hotel itself was very clean and had good facilities, although the staff on reception were pretty miserable and offhand most of the time, as if the requirement to deal with the queries of their guests was a real onconvenience for them. Maids were very efficient and the rooms were cleaned spotlessly. The main problem was the cockroaches in the bar and entertainment area. Each night we were there, we saw at least 40-50 scurrying across the floor and up and down the walls. The staff seemed to expect this, as there was a maid on hand every evening with a broom and dustpan to sweep up all the squashed ones. There were really invasive and despite the general cleanliness of the hotel, proved to be a real annoyance in the evenings. The food was very good, with a good range of choice during both breakfast and dinner.

Coming to you from the internet cafe at the hotel.
There is very little I can say on the negative front about this hotel.
The rooms are cleaned daily and the bedding is changed twice a week.(Bleach is used neat in the bathroom so donīt leave any clothing/good facecloths lying around) The food can get a bit tiresome, but then if you are a slave to microwave meals as I am at home then you will probably be in heaven. The breakfast is served until 10.30 (sharp) and dinner until 21.30.
The rooms have ceiling fans which helps keep them cool. Although in the centre of Magalluf regulations mean that music cannot be played outside beyond midnight so it gets a lot quieter then. Safes in rooms cost 24 euros.
On the down side, some of the staff are a bit offhand. The male receptionist who greeted me was less than welcoming, but as I had already read this in another forum I was prepared. As usual the friendliest people are the maids. The rooms have TVīs with limited Uk stations (currently sky and BBC news and TCM) and complimentary shower gel and soap.
The worst thing about my stay has been finding a cockroach in my bedroom and the apathetic response from the staff (again I had read of a similar incident on another forum)
The best thing about this hotel has to be the fact that the loungers are kept chained up until 9am so there is no creeping out in the small hours to put towels on sun beds.
Despite the downsides I would recommend this hotel. There are loads of activites and it is central for Magalluf and 5mins from palma nova. I am a sinlge person travelling alone and this place definitely suits my needs - I booked flight and hotel independently and saved a fortune in supplements

Everything about the hotel and resort was spot on, staff could be a bit friendlier but then again were not always smiling at work either! As for the smell of smoke, are we all talking about the same hotel here because there just wasn't one. Entertainment was great it broke the night up brilliantly we had tea watched it then went out on the town. Truly a great holiday abroad would recommend it and it will take some beating!

Great hotel in an ideal spot. Food was champion, although if you fancy a change or something else (wor lass was never up in time for Breakfast), there's loads of nice places to eat.
Only gripe was the pool area really - it's too small for the size of Hotel (everyone has to turn over at the same time), and if you're not down for the start of the Saga-sunbed-sprint at 9 on the dot, tough luck.
Doesn't really matter though as the beach is a couple of minutes away - nice and clean with loads of nice eateries (Happy House was spot-on - cheap and top-quality with big portions). Don't go to the Chinkies opposite Captain Nemo's place - we were a party of 8 for the whole holiday, bill came to 180 Euros and the bait was horrible (couple of dodgy tummies the next day).
There's something for everyone in Magaluf - non-stop entertainment and the Hotel is ideally located for all of it.

| said: Check in went smoothly ( we had booked this independently for the second time).
The room was clean and had a ceiling fan, good job as It was very hot. The Bathroom had handwash, shower gel e.t.c
There was also a Television this time, which had Sky news, BBC World, CNN, and the Cartoon channel in English ( handy for kids or kid like adults like mine!) plus Spanish channels of course. The Balcony doors were fairly new and double glazed and the balcony railings were also fairly new too. Room was on a corner and we could see the sea from It which was nice.
Cant fault this hotel really that's why we booked It again, the food being the main plus.
Only being there a short time we just lazed around, had a few drinks, soaked up the sun and went shopping.
Entertainment in the hotel wont appeal to everyone but there is plenty going on all around you. There are daytime activities and a kids club.
If you like good food and want to eat as much as you like(we did, and stuffed ourselves) and want a good clean hotel you cant go wrong. This is our favourite Sol hotel in Magalluf and we have been to a fair few in the past.
On the day of departure the hotel receptionist called us a taxi which only took a couple of mins to arrive.

| said: just back from Sol Magaluf Park Hotel and had a great time.
Hotel was excellent. Very clean and food was great with plenty of variety. 3 pools to suit everyone. The hotel is centre to shops, bars and restuarants. I went with my husband and 10 year old son and we were a bit concerned about the noise at night time but it was fine. Entertainment in the hotel until 11 and then Karoke after that. Went to the Aqua Park but it wasn't great - Western Water park looked much better. Recommend shopping around for your trips and water park tickets. Could recommend the Golden Bear which is just around the corner. It is run by an English couple and their trips work out a good bit cheaper.

Got told off by the management for throwing a fire extinguisher on the roof.
Noise was too loud got told off for that.
Right in the centre of the action was the main benefit but for the price i payed Ģ375 a bit steep for a week

| said: This was my very first holiday abroad, I was dubious and petrified hearing bad reports of foreign holidays. The Magaluff Park has spoilt me for further holidays, it was airy, clean and a perfect location, the facilities were good. The daytime entertainment excellent for both my husband and son to have fun and meet people. Nice to know they do creches for adults!!, the evening entertainment was international as was the clientelle. The food was varied and mouth watering, all staff were friendly and great with the kids, seeing the BCM nightclub just across the way worried me but we never heard a thing. We loved the whole experience and would gladly do it again.
