I stayed in this hotel for a one week all inclusive holiday during October 2008.

I had never been AI before and I was very pleased with the value for money. The whole holiday only cost £400 including flights and was fantastic value.

The AI drinks are lovely, not watered down and no big queues at the bar. The food was fantastic value. Cooked English breakfast, cereal, toast, fruit and croissants. Juices and tea/coffee all help yourself and very nice.

The lunches and snacks were great, with pizza, plenty of fruit, veg and salad. The evening meals were varied with everything from sirloin steak to sea bass, delicious. Every person entering the food area was given an antibacterial hand wipe - having a germ phobia of people's unwashed hands I found this great!

The room was clean and the cleaning staff were great - daily service and towel change. The shower was good and never ran out of hot water. The balcony was nice and being on the 7th floor I had a fantastic sea view.

The entertainment was the only part that was not very good - my fault really as bingo / singing are not my things but the other guests enjoyed and they are in the downstairs area, leaving the upstairs Piano bar empty!

The pool area was kept very clean and the staff were lovely. There was no evidence of any "bug" during my stay and could not see any evidence of why this would have originated at the hotel, the standards were very high and perhaps this was caught on the flight / elsewhere and spread. Who knows, all I can say is although the hotel could do with a face lift it is clean and the food and drinks are fantastic. The beach is just across the road and I am booking to go back with my family next year.

Wwwooowww, what a great holiday me and my friends had at this fabulous hotel. We ate, drunk and got merry and none of us had any vomiting diarrhea or hang-overs. The food excellent, the pool area overwhelming, the entertainment first class what we saw, as we went out of the hotel two nights and the sun shone all the time. It's just across the road from the beach, where the sun shone down until 9pm! A very short walk to a few shops, if you wanted and a bus that picked you up right outside the hotel, that took you into town for 1.10 euro. A bit a of trek back if you walked but it was lovely. Everything was clean and fresh, the food excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely go back again.

The anti-bacterial wipes, on entering the dining room is a great thing. So many people do not wash their hands after using the loo and then come into the dining room and touch the self-service food. I am surprised to read that some people did not want to use these wipes because it is for our own safety and it should be compulsory.

Thanks Torromelinos Beach Club Hotel for a great stay.

Hi to all holiday makers,
Just to let you know that I have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Beach club, 1 word to describe it “BRILLIANT.
This is our 3rd visit there in the last 5 years, and to be honest the other 2 places we went to (Salou and Sa Coma in Majorca) had no comparison to the Beach Club.

Firstly let’s set the record straight, THE BUG! what bug, it’s all poppy cock.
There were 4 adults 3 children and an OAP in our party and not 1 of us got THE BUG.
As last time when we went with a party of 17 not one of us got THE BUG.
It’s all about people jumping on the band wagon when they get Spanish Tummy or over indulge in to much drink, rich food, late nights and to much sun.

The Beach Club itself is spotless, maids everywhere cleaning daily, maid service in your room everyday.

The choice of food in the restaurant is great. Such a variety for everyone.

The entertainment at night just perfect, children’s entertainment, bingo, and then the adult’s entertainment, “BRILLIANT”

All the activities through out the day are great ways to make some great friends.

The bar staff very friendly, always smiling and always making you laugh.

Defiantly shall be going back next year

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and 3 days, we had read the reports about the so called 'Bug'!! with trepidation, but we can honestly say that the food, hotel and the staff was brilliant, the rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed on a daily basis if you wanted them to be eg. left them on the floor in the bathroom, and clean ones would be left for you.

As you entered the dining room you were handed a bacterial wipe which was no problem to use and if it helps then great, the food was always hot and a good choice for lunch and evening meal, breakfast was a bit repetative but eh oh there was enough to choose from and found it not a problem.

Bar staff were always pleasant and were really heavy handed with the vodka, again not a problem!! The cleanliness of the wc's around the hotel itself again were always clean and always loo roll.

The beach across the road was lovely and the stroll up to the few shops was nice in the evening to work some of your dinner off, a bit further to walk upto the main town perhaps around 30 mins but you could get a taxi which was 7 euros or the local bus right outside the hotel for 1 euro 10 cents and run every half hour, it was nice in the main town in the evening to sit at one of the many bars and watch the street entertainers and getting a taxi back to the hotel before the bars shut.

All in all we had a very good short break, would have no qualms about taking my family here, there were no signs of any 'Bugs' and look forward to going back in the near future.

We have just returned from the Hotel Beach Club Torremolinos and can i just say yes the bug is still there and very rife it is too.

I travelled with my family six of us in all and out of this six people four of us were really ill, with violent vomitting and diarrorea.

This bug is not very nice at all and is very disabling we all spent two days in bed feeling awful. Two people that we know of were hospitalised.

This bug did nothing for our holiday and we just wanted to come home.

We stayed here for half term in Feb, everything was very good apart from the weather, it was very windy and rained on the last day, but thats the chance you take going this time of year.

The hotel was very clean, staff were very friendly and polite, but the food, oh my god it was just so good! every thing you could imagine and more.

I think I've out on 3 stone in a week, the dining room was very clean and spacious, we had something different every night, yes there was chips every day but my children only had them once, there is just so much choice and the puddings were out of this work, esp the bannoffe pie, my mouth is watering at the thought of it!

The staff give out antiseptic wipes whenever you go into the dining room, but as always some people refuse to use them, I think its a very good idea and more hotels should do this.

There was no1 who I spoke to had got ill and i cant see why they would.

We had a good holiday and I wouldn't hesitate to recommened this hotel to people from 6-60.

First time here and whilst I had read the reviews and comments re the “Bug” I was not overly concerned.

The hotel does seem to have tackled the problem in a positive manner requiring use of antiseptic hand wipes when entering the dining room.

You cannot however make everyone do so. We did see people who ignored the rule.

As the bug is passed by touch then if people ignore the rule you will still get cases. The manager I was told will call a doctor free to check on any reported cases.

The standard of cleanliness in the hotel was high.

A good selection of hot food together with snack available until midnight.

Staff was first class and always willing to help.

Entertainment every night and on the whole it did cater for everyone.

There is a no smoking rule and it was enforced within the hotel. You either went outside or used a designated room. If it had not been so cold on our visit then it would not have been a problem. But then weather is beyond their control.

Location – Yes it is a fair distance out of the centre but a bus stop outside the hotel or a 10 minute walk to the railway station is no problem. We actually prefer to be away from the centre and enjoy the stroll along the promenade,

Would we go again? Possible if looking for a break, but not at this time of year

We met many who had made multiple visits so it must recommend – one family booked for May whilst they were there.

This is my third visit to the Beach Club and must say I really enjoyed my stay.

Id enjoyed the food on my last two visits but this year I thought it was even better. The hotel has a large dinning room and never had any trouble finding a table.

I didn't hear of any one getting the bug during my stay but I must say I was a bit worried before I arrived after reading some of the reports on here.

The staff kept the hotel clean and to my mind were very pleasant.I know the hotel is a fair way from Torremolinos centre but this did not worry me as I like walking.

The only down side for me was the bar downstairs was so full of smoke during the entertainment, it could do with a better extraction system than they have at the moment.

I shall look forward to returning again next year.

Spent 2 weeks here from Nov 30th to Dec 14.Weather really good, sunny and warm every day with a couple of windy days.
Firstly the "bug." Never saw any real evidence of it, but did speak to one lady( a regular visitor over many years) whose husband had been taken ill with it and also did see the ambulance visiting several times, but that could, of course have been for other reasons.

Plenty of food on offer with plenty of choices but we thought the quality was lacking at times and it was not always hot, especially in "pasta corner." Restaurant staff on the whole quite pleasant, with one or two exceptions. I think they need to improve the dish washing facilities, I picked up a cup which still had lipstick traces on it and soup dishes at dinner still had the morning cornflakes stuck to it. Plates very often still wet, not having been dried properly.

Bar staff very friendly and were usually happy to enjoy a bit of banter, especially downstairs in the Magnum bar.
I've never really been a lover of hotel entertainment and there wasn't much on here to make me change my mind, most acts were quite mediocre with just one or two exceptions.
Reception staff very helpful and checking in was extremely quick.

The location is a bit quiet but the bus stop is outside and its a 10 minutes stroll to La Colina railway station for trips out as far as Fuengirola one way and Malaga the other.
We wouldn't spend 2 weeks here again, that seemed a bit too long for us, but this is a 2/3 star all inclusive hotel which doesn't cost the earth and does represent good value for money.

We arrived at the hotel on Sat 24th Nov 07 for a weeks A/I. Myself my daughter and my grandaughter.

I had read reports of a bug so say going round but others had dissmissed this as rubbish, it rained the first day so we stayed within the hotel and of course ate there, I was impressed by the anti bacterial wipes given uot as you went into the main dining area, but was slightly concerned about the number of flies within the self service food area.

That first night we could plainly hear guests on our floor vomiting throughout the night.the second night it was me!

The third night it was my grandaughter a 17mth old baby we could not take the risk of staying any longer and paid 210euros to fly home the next day.

I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone its a huge health risk.

We have both been ill while staying at Hotel, so were lots of others holiday makers. We were told the virus was in the air. In the Dining Room all food was uncovered for long periods,so the flies has a good feed., so we were ill for most of our holiday. We came home 25th Nov. we are still not well. We feel we have waisted our money as it was allinclusive and we were not well enought toeat and drink for four out of seven days.

The food and cleanliness in the Beach Club was fine. Plenty of choice at all meal times. No long queues at the bar and the staff friendly enough. .but in October there were millions of flies everywhere not only in the hotel but in Torremolinos and Benalmadena.

I don’t know if this contributed to the bug which 6 of us got why we were there, but it was definitely NOT due to eating and drinking to much as I myself don’t drink a lot and my son is 12 and not a big eater or drinker! The Thomson rep said it was a virus on the coast! After reading reviews this virus as been here a long time! We should have been wary as it was very cheap to stay here, now we know why!

The anti bacterial wipes given out at meal times are obviously not working so the hotel should do something. Its no joke when you go on holiday and end up ill but its worse when the kids get it. My daughter got it the night before we were flying home so was ill on the flight home.

Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone, pay a bit more and go elsewhere!

Have just returned from the Beach Club and had a great time. We were all inclusive on this holiday. The weather was perfect. Very warm and sunny in the day but occasionally cooler in the evening, needing a light wrap or jacket if venturing out. Central heating was on from late evening and early morning but the bedroom thermostat can be turned down if need be.

I have heard several times before that the hotel has had problems with a gastric type bug that affects some people but not others. I and my family did not have any problems when we last visited about 5 or 6 years or so ago and everything was fine for us but we did speak to one other in the hotel who was affected by the 'bug' but did not notice anyone else. In fact we were quite surprised when we saw a programme on tv shortly afterwards about the hotel and the bug and could not believe it was the same hotel we had stayed in.

On the most recent visit - from 25 October to 1 November - we overheard the maid talking on the corridor to the people in the room next to us and saying she hoped the wife was soon feeling better. My grandson became unwell on the 4th day of our holiday. He had just left the kids club and was saying how hungry he was then suddenly vomited! He was intermittently unwell for the rest of the day but by the following day, was back to normal. I do suspect that it may well have been the sun that contributed towards the illness as it was very hot and he did not have any other gastric symptoms at all.

The hotel was very clean and we noticed that there is a constant rolling programme for maintenance / domestic services.

The restaurant is open 08.00 – 10.30 for breakfast; 13.00 – 15.00 for lunch and 18.30 – 21.00 for dinner. The snack bar in the restaurant is open from 11.00 – 24.00. The food was perfectly fine with lots of choices. There is a separate pasta / pizza section, with freshly cooked items. In fact, there are several items freshly cooked at the buffet counters and all the trays are constantly replenished with fresh food. I am vegetarian and had no problems. Everyone who enters the restaurant is given a moist hand wipe but some guests played lip service to this or did not use at all. I think the hotel does lots to improve hygiene but poor personal hygiene standards of some of the guests impede their efforts in some instances. People watching is very enlightening!

The staff were mostly fine, especially once they got to know you. Ok, a couple were a bit more reserved at times but hey, I’m sure we all have ‘could do better’ days at work at times, I know that I do.

We arranged our own taxi transfer from Malaga airport and were quoted 18 euros when we asked for prices at the taxi stand outside the arrivals hall. We were happy to pay this as we had several cases and were at the hotel in next to no time. Interestingly, the return journey was 15 euros.

Hotel check in was quick and we got a room with a pool view which meant we had the sun all day. The lifts – there are four – are slow and small, but as we were on the second floor it was no hardship to use the stairs.

Internet access is available - not in the hotel but in the hairdressers section, which has 3 terminals. It costs 50 cents for 15 minutes. Downside is that the hairdressers is only open 10.00 – 13.00 and 15.00 – 17.00, closed on Sundays.

Room facilities – no drink making facilities were available but it is easy enough to access the Piano bar on the ground floor near the restaurant, open 09.00 – 24.00 and there is a pool side bar open during the day on the lower ground floor. The Magnum bar on the lower ground floor is open during the day and evenings too, with entertainment.

There is a variety of activities during the day, ie archery and rifle shooting to name a couple. I believe the inside pool is open from beginning November.

Entertainment and Bingo every evening in the Magnum bar.

Every afternoon and evening, there is a video in the tv room behind reception. I understand that sky sports can also be accessed in the tv room but not 100% positive.

We did not have a remote for the tv in our bedroom but could easily change channels manually. English speaking channels are the usual Sky news and CNM but we could get BBC1 on channel 12 and 54 which was a refreshing change.

We booked hotel and flights independently but accessed the Thomson's welcome meeting and rep.One trip that the children enjoyed was to the Crocodile Park. We purchased tickets from the rep at the hotel, saving 50 cents each. He suggested that we got the local bus which stops outside the hotel entrance into Torremolinos centre at 1.05 euros each, then get a taxi for about 6 euros to the park. Instead, we got hotel reception to order a taxi for us, the fare being 8 euros. The return journey to Torremolinos centre, ordered by the very helpful reception at the Crocodile Park, was 6 euros. We then spent a few hours leisurely shopping before walking back to the hotel. It was a lovely day.

The Beach Club is a good 20 – 30 minutes walk from the centre but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel if anyone wants public transport. It does benefit from being just across the road from the beach and all the rooms I understand have a seaview.Limited access to bars / shops in the immediate area but accessible after a walk of 5 - 10 minutes.

The children loved this holiday and hotel and we will return, hopefully in the not too distant future. In fact, we have booked for February 2008 already.

Just returned from this hotel and would not return, we went all inclusive food was good at breakfast, lunch and dinner but if you wanted a snack in between, be prepared to have the same snack 3 times a day for a fortnight--- cold chips, sausages, beans, and left over bacon.

The rooms were nice and the cleaner was excellent, bar staff were nice.

Entertainment at night was absolutely terrible for children, disco for children for 30 minutes and that was it and they weren't really that interested in them for the 30 minutes that it was on, they're more interested in getting on with the bingo for adults, first week we saw the same band 3 times.

As for the bug, there is a bug that lasts for 24 hours , sickness and diarrohea, we all came down with it 3 adults and 3 children, and we spoke to alot of people in the hotel and they all had it-- adults and children.

If your looking for a family hotel with things for children to do, I would not recommend it the kids will be bored.

13 people in my family stayed at this hotel in may 07. On appearance the hotel is an excellent standard for a 3 star.

Unfortunately most of the family had "the bug"if that's what you call it. 2 children and elderly father in law worst hit. Don't know what they are doing wrong appears very clean to me yet some reviews are that they were not affected when they went on holiday.

Lovely looking hotel for its class food even tasted good, great variety.

We have just returned from our third visit at The Torremolinos Beach Club and felt compelled to put things straight as far as this hotel is concerned.

My family and I arrived for a ten night stay from 26th May to find that very little had changed from last year other than the downstairs main bar is now in the hands of the hotel and not franchised out as before. The service generally here is fine although the barmen could smile a little more, but then when people don’t even use common courtesy to them then what can you expect.

The hotel rooms are fine although from our point of view I can’t see us staying here too much longer as our daughter is coming on 12 and wanting her own “space” as generally you are all in one room; unless you get a family room that can sleep four and has at least one if not two separate bedrooms. They are kept clean and the towels are changed every day. If you want the best views then ask for a room overlooking the pool as you will be able to see Torremolinos itself.

The pool area is kept as clean and tidy as the guests allow. The guys behind the bar spend an hour or so at the end of each day clearing up rubbish, re-stacking the sun beds and hosing the pool area down. This task would be a lot easier for them if the good old British clientele managed to pick up their plastic glasses and general rubbish when they have finished sunbathing for the day. It makes you wonder what their homes are like!!

Finally the food itself is fantastic, and I really mean that. There is something for everyone; salads, pizza bar, normal cooked buffet food and show cooking most nights. There are lots of desserts to choose from as well. You will also find the normal fizzy drinks, red and white wine and fresh water. All of these are help yourself. Breakfast gives you lots of options but because I don’t normally have time at home the English breakfast was fab. When entering the restaurant you are asked to use the antiseptic hand wipes to prevent the spread of germs and I must say I only encountered a couple of people not doing this.

“The bug” is nowhere to be seen and doesn’t exist. The only reason become ill is that they eat and drink too much and stay in the sun far too long. Believe me I witnessed it at first hand. What do you expect if you have a full English at 0930 followed by four or five large beers, then lunch and some more beer in the afternoon whilst sitting or lying in 30 degrees of direct sunshine!!

Finally Lucy and Antonio are just brilliant. Their version of a couple of games of bingo each evening was just side splitting and the acts that perform are generally quite good.

We will probably book again for next May which for the time being could be our last for a while so to everyone at The Beach Club, at great big thank you and we look forward to seeing you again next year.

We spent a week here from 25th February for a short break.
On arrival our room was not ready for 1 hour but apologies made, a luggage room was provided and we were given our AI wristbands so we could get drinks and snacks while waiting.

ROOM
Our room was clean and spacious but a little tired in places. During our stay the room was kept very clean and always smelt fresh, and linen and towels changed regularly.

FOOD
We found the food to be plentiful with a good choice and of a fairly high standard. We found something to suit us at all meals. Desserts were especially nice and very varied. Only found, on one occasion that the chicken wings were not fully cooked, and on informing the waiter when the plate was collected he just shrugged and was not unduly concerned. Self service drinks in the restaurant were also varied and freely available. We had heard about a stomach bug but we had no problems, and hand wipes were provided each time you entered the dining room.

BARS
There was a varied supply of local drinks with good measures in plastic glasses mainly. Imported brands were also available at a small cost. Usually minimal queuing experienced to get drinks.
The piano bar was useful for relaxing and chatting.
We found the Magnum bar where entertainment was held became very smoky and hot as it was the only smoking area in the hotel. As a result we did not use it as much as we would have liked as the entertainment was varied and of a good standard. Also at times the sound system could not be heard clearly at the back.

POOLS
There were 2 large outdoor pools but due to being unheated could not be comfortably used at this time which was a shame as the weather was hot and we love swimming. There was a small and fairly shallow indoor pool but this tended to be taken over by unsupervised and noisy children who enjoyed throwing chairs across the pool etc.
The surrounding area of the outdoor pool was not always kept clean and there were frequently plastic glasses, cigarette stubs etc lying around for days.
On one occasion we found the remains of a broken wine glass near our sunbed which we deposited in the bin (one of many) provided.

Although the hotel was a bit way out, there were shops, bars and restaurants a shot walk away along the sea front. The train station was a 10 minute walk away and the local bus stopped at the stop right outside our hotel, making getting around easy.

STAFF
For the most, staff were courteous, friendly and helpful, with only a couple of them being a bit abrupt at times, and when we practised our limited Spanish, they were happy to encourage us.

GENERAL COMMENTS
The hotel has numerous facillities for those who require them such as organized daytime activities, also pool, snooker, darts and board games.
A couple of downsides we feel are firstly some adults over indulging in the freely available alcohol and becoming very noisy and disruptive at times. Secondly, despite numerous signs stating children should be supervised, this was often not the case and some were very noisy and unruly which did not make for a peaceful holiday.
Although we enjoyed our holiday on the whole, when we return to this area in the future' although we may consider returning to this hotel we may also explore other hotels which would more closely meet our needs.

What a lovely hotel definitely much better than your normal 3 star. The bedroom accommodation was spotless well funished and a nice size.

The food/drink was first class and the facilities offered were very good and the evening entertainment was of a good standard.

Staff were very helpful and polite.

Would recommend this hotel to any Although positioned away from the centre it was right on the beach with bars restaurants and shops nearbuy. The train station La Colina is about ten minutes walk from the hotel and is a very cheap way to travel.

We have stayed at the Beach Club in January for the past 3 years and would recommend it.

The food is reasonable, a lot of things not to my taste, but I still had a 5 course meal every night - soup, salad, main course, dessert and cheese and biscuits. There is a weekly gala dinner with paella and steaks.

They are generous with the drinks, all local spirits and the entertainment was some of the best we've seen. There is also bingo every night and the money's good. The daytime activities are well supported - Frnch boules, archery, pistol shooting, rifle shooting, killer darts, killer pool, quizzes.

The hairdressers outside the front door has internet access with 4 pc's at 50c for 15 mins.

They accommodated our request for a high floor overlooking the pool which has sun all day.

We have never been in summer, but I imagine it would be very busy with families.

It is about a 20-30 mins walk from the centre of Torremolinos, but there is a bus stop at the front door and the fare was €1.05.

We travelled for a family fully inclusive holiday to the Beach Club hotel in Torremolinos.

Our room was very shabby and consisted of childrens drawings on the wall.

The staff were unhelpful and occasionally rude.

Entertainment was very poor for children and was carried out in a very smokey conditions without aircon.

Food was very bland and not always warm. The snack bar food was unedible. When I took this up with one of the staff I was told to warm it in the microwave.

Six out of our party were hit by food poisoning and one requiring medical treatment. Thomson staff said there was a bug in the whole resort. We found by talking to other guests that it was a common occurance in the hotel.

Would never return to this hotel again.

The Bug!! My partner was poorly for a couple of days, but she has been before whenever we go abroad.

Me? 4 course meal every night with a "free" bar!! Should not be allowed was bound to make me ill. (Better put that down as a hangover).

Buffet:
Full breakfast available every morning as is fresh baguette cold meat, cheeses , fresh fruit, orange juice ,tea and coffee. Forgot the sparkling wine as well

Lunch
Very good selection almost as good as the evening meal.

Dinner
One chef normally cooking fish ,another with a roast/sea food ,it does vary.

Pool bar and lounge bar .Poor guys having to be psychic. And the way people were refusing ice was a bit over the top. ( "I SAID ,NO ICE"!! )

Read somewhere, that somebody said they never saw the maid. O.K. Ask for the 8th floor next time. Very polite and efficient every morning.

Saw a couple of shows. Maybe Kylie, Robbie and Elvis were busy the week we went. Somebody did came along to entertain though.

Bus stop outside front entrance goes every hour for 1 euro ANYWHERE.

Train: 10 minute walk (holiday pace) 2-3 euro return(ida Y tuesa) to Malaga centre or Fuengirola.

Advice: Thought we could get off train on the way back from fuengirola and reuse ticket back to the hotel station . NO it rejected ticket. Then got a single ticket (ida) one day and could not get through the ticket barrier (that was at the right station) , luckily the emergency exits are just a push through gate.

Overall, no problems.
Have a nice time

Have just returned from the Beach Club and have to say it was thoroughly enjoyable and would return. My only gripe was that my wife suffered the "bug", lasting about 12 hours and left her feeling rough the next day. The Thomson rep said it was an airborne virus and said our room would be disenfected(it never was).

A tip would be to spend 3 euro's at the pharmacy for a bottle of "Primperan" (metclopromide)which helps with the nausea.

Hotel food was good, I'm a fussy eater but could always find something. Staff were very helpful and always cheery. Our son loved the kid's club but had to get his name down early as they only catered for 16 at a time, a couple of times he missed out.

Set your alarm early if you want a sunbed by the pool as they get taken early.

Entertainment was a bit hitty missy, but found the nights with the parrot show etc etc we went into Torremolinos on the bus (1 euro) Would recommend Bobbie's bar for the house brandy and La Taberna (Belgian bar) for excellent Grimbergan, Hoegarden and Duvell. Los Tres Cabelleros in Playamar is a proper Spanish Bar with ridiculous low prices.Special mention to the El Paseo as well for the "craic" and an excellent spec for watching the world go by.

This being the second time at the Beach Club, I noticed a lot more Spanish in the Hotel and they are averse to queing!

Would have been a decent holiday if 6 of the 8 members of the group had not come down with a stomach bug (all on different days) the sickness lasted about twelve hours, but you feel rough for most of the next day.

The Thomson Rep told us it was a airborne virus and there was nothing they could do. I dont think we spoke to many families that had not been affected by it.

Thomson are trying to play down the extent of the problem, but I would say there is at least a 60-70% infection rate.

I think it is wrong that people are not being warned before arriving at the hotel.

Check in at this hotel very easy, no forms to fill etc. Rooms quite nice and we had a good sea view. All 12 of us were placed on 10th floor including my wheelchair bound mum in law,(who Skytours were aware she was registered disabled) Asked to have her moved to lower floor, took two days and had to point out to rep that she better hope there was not a fire. Next morning at 9.00am keys to room on 1st floor waiting at reception.

Piano bar area is quite shabby, net curtains are filthy and full of holes, chairs very uncomfortable.

Pools OK but if you want a sunbed will need to be down there with your towel by 7.00am or you can forget it, these "saved" beds are placed as close to the pool as was possible without falling in, then the people on them spend all day "tutting" at the kids who splashed them, so why put it there? As there was so many of us we had to go across to what is a very nice beach and pay 4 euro's a day for a sunbed and expensive drinks from beach bar as we never able to get beds at hotel. I will not get up that early on holiday, the hotel should not allow it anyway.

The queues at the bar not too bad on the whole as the staff very fast but you will only ever get drinks in plastic cups, even at night.

The entertainment staff where all but invisible, one appeared mid afternoon to do the water polo, then one again at night to do mini disco and bingo, she read the numbers out so fast and quiet that we could not really play anyway. If you want to watch the evening show then be down there by 9.00pm or you will end up sitting on the sunbeds you can't get in the day. The shows themselves were mainly poor, with a couple of exceptions, hypnotist and comedian good, rest you would not pay to see. Kids allowed to play football when people sitting with tables full of drinks and of course the inevitable happened. But as kids run round like lunatics most of the day having drinks spilt down you is not uncommon.

Hotel also decided to some painting during our stay, had a cherry picker working outside round the pool so some area's blocked off, thought this would have been better done during quieter months.

Food was mediocre at best, very repetitive, if you vegetarian forget it, you have no chance unless you like salad and chips. During our stay of two weeks 7 out of the 12 had "the bug" which the rep is now saying is a "touch bug", my mum in law has had it since we came back, so that makes 8. The rep said she would get our rooms disinfected, to my knowledge this never happened as toilet only smelt of bleach once during whole stay, there was some vomit in our bath for two days before cleaner got rid of it, would have done it myself but had no cleaning stuff. There was dried "poo" on outside of one of our toilets when we arrived and still there when we left. Also empty condom wrapper under a bed, but I guess that could have been worse. Almost every family had been affected by the bug to some degree, an Italian family we spoke to changed their flights and went home early because of it. The Doctor has a surgery in the hotel Monday - Saturday, maybe that should have been a clue things not quite right.

The lifts also have a mind of there own and the waits for them during meal times can be quite long. The bar staff did try to keep pool area clean but as most of the guests had no respect this was difficult, they just left there plastic cups, crisp and fag packets to blow about, even though lots of bins. These same people let there kids run wild, dressed in sports wear even at night, had more tattoo's than a sailor and language to match and that was just the women.

So if you don't like kids, rowdy guest's, plastic glasses, getting sick & getting up early, then this is not the place for you. Many guest's we spoke to have been here many times which left us shocked to say the least but we in all honesty would not ever step foot in this place again even if it was for free.

We certainly had our reservations before travelling and boy oh boy did it live up to it!!!!

We were situated on the 2nd floor which was fine as we had 2 small children in buggies, but even then the time spent waiting for lifts was unbelievable.

The food is just about edible, but never piping hot.
Everything was going ok until the 6th day when myself and my husband become ill with the so called "Airbourne Virus " thats up the whole of the Costa according to the Thomson Rep, what a load of rubbish as the whole of the hotel at some point or other was dropping like flies.

The hotel staff was friendly but some of the waiters needed lessons in smiling.

As for the Entertainment, if your kids want to go to a mini disco forget it, the one's running it was pathetic they stayed on the stage and had all the kids dancing in a confined area to 2 songs and thats all it ever consisted of, my daughter was really disappointed. And they were not very child friendly, they had their favourites and would favour them over the rest of the kids who were possibly a little shy. I would give the entertainment team a score of minus if I could.

This hotel attracts alot of rabble, we found that there was alot of rough people staying here. We are no snobs but if your a tidy family keep a wide berth from this place.
I am not a moaner for those who are reading this and thinking she is a miserable thing, I am only putting the facts down as we found them..

If you want a family holiday don't book this hotel.

There was always plenty of food to eat, eventhough food was repeated a few times. Had to wipe your hands into the resturant and where no bathers which is great idea. Drinks are good as well.

Rooms cleaned every day and clean towels which is great as rooms to get messy after going to the beach. no dustpan brush to clean.

Staff always happy to help and pleasent and liked to entertain the children.

Kids club run by thomson was good as well as the hotel enetertianment. Bingo , mini disco, films for the children, activities all day. Real effort made.

Little space around the pool as people would prebook sunbeds before 7.00am in the moring at were not being used to about midday. Notice does state not toprebook your sunbeds as towles will be removed however this was never enforced and notice was very small.

There is a bug in the hotel and couldn't say you will or you wont get it only me and my son had the bug and it lasted for about 12 hours. No need to see a doctor or panick just drink plenty of water and let it flush out of the system. Bugs are are airbourne so doesn't matter if you were on the plane, in a resturant or in this hotel you would catch it or not.

Me, my husband and our 15 month old baby travelled to the beach club with my parents for our 2 week summer holiday.

Don't get me wrong the hotel was lovely and clean and the staff were ever so friendly, they all made a fuss over the little children.

The hotel food was ok but I found it wasn't piping hot it was just aired but apart from that it was eatable.

If you just like taking daily and evening strolls and your not into the hussly and bussly shopping life then the beach club is situated in the ideal location.

As for the entertainment I didn't see any of it because it didn't start till 10 0 clock and my baby was asleep by then.

The only thing that put me off was the fact that 2 to 3 days into our holiday everybody in turn came down with what the rep called an "airbourne virus" which entailed sickness or diahorrea. My baby got it the worse and we had to spend a night in the hospital(not very nice).

I bet overall half the hotel came down with it in the whole fortnight, but apart from that yes I would go again but not for a few years at least.

Torremolinos Beach Club. What a fantastic hotel! I had read reports on this site before I went and it came up to more than my expectations.

The hotel itself is very clean and yes you do still have to wipe your hands on entry to the restaurant, which I didn't mind one bit.

The staff are extremely helpful and fiendly nothing is too much trouble for them. The hotel is at the far end of Torremolinos and in a twenty minute walk you see a sign telling you that you are coming out of Torremolinos, walk the other way and after a 3 hour walk we still hadn't come to the end!!

Its in a fairly quiet bit and the beach across the road is very clean. I only gave the hotel for cleanliness because the chairs, tables and beds outside could do with a good cleaning.

Incidentally, you dont need to reserve sunbeds I have never seen so many. The 4 for the entertainment was because they changed the act one night and I have never seen such a rubbish act.

I think he was an old mime artist with two girls and a male contortionist and none of the act seemed to fit together. But the other artists were very good. I would definately go here again, we only went for one week next time we will go for two.

the location suited us very well and if you wanted a quieter location in the summer this is where to be
it is only minutes from resort centre 1 euro on the bus and it stops right outside the hotel door ever 20 mins
The hotel was spotless through out, clean sheets and towels daily you have even to clean your hands on special towels before you enter the dining room.

We came here at the end of January so not much going on outside the hotel unless you went in to Benalmadena.

No kids club in the hotel through winter months but the children (aged 14,11 and 6) still had a great time. Some good evening entertainment with big money bingo.

We had a lovely bedroom with a seperate double room leading off the twin room,a good size bathroom and a massive balcony overlooking the beach(would be fantastic in summer months).

The food wasnt bad at all and I liked the pizza and pasta bar in the corner, they made a delicious ham and pineapple pizza fresh to order! All the staff made a fuss of the children which was a nice touch.

The cleanliness of the hotel is good too.I can honestly say we enjoyed our weeks stay and would go back again at the right price.

We booked the Beach Club through the Internet because we were flying to Malaga via Switzerland after visiting our new grandson. We decided on All Inclusive with it being January and probably not wanting to wander round very much in the evening, and also if the weather was bad we could drown our sorrows in the bar. Unfortunately the weather was very disappointing, although we managed not to indulge too much. There was a very blustery wind a few days and rain all one day, but apart from the one day we got out for quite long walks.

The Beach Club is situated right at one end of Torremolinos at the opposite side to Benalmedina and it is about an hours brisk walk to the harbour there. You can walk to the town centre but it is uphill, and if you don’t fancy walking there is a bus stops right outside and costs one Euro.

The food wasn’t too bad on the whole, but it is a buffet and the problem with buffets is that the food isn’t always hot. They did cook on a griddle each day a meat and fish item with a choice of other main courses - there was a lovely salad bar and a counter where you could get pizza and pasta and a large selection of desserts and fruit so there was certainly no need to go hungry. Everywhere was kept very clean and you had to use hand wipes before entering the dining room. Plates were cleared away very quickly, in fact, sometimes too quickly as it was advisable to put a cardigan on your chair as you could find your drinks cleared away when you got back to the table!

There was an entertainment team who organised things like pool and rifle shooting and in the evening entertainment in the Magnum Bar started at 7.30 pm. Two evenings there was ballroom, sequence and line dancing until 9 pm, two evenings a singer playing a keyboard who we thought was very good, a quiz one evening and, of course, a Parrot Show. At 9.15 pm there was Bingo until 10.15 pm when there was an artist on for over an hour, sometimes nearly an hour and a half and we thought they were a good standard. I would imagine in summer the early evening entertainment would be more for children.

The free blanket trips are normally worth going on and the one we went on was one Thomsons organised and after the demonstration we went a drive round Malaga with a guide explaining the sights and then we had an hours free time.

We also went on the free Diamond Centre trip – you just had to put your name down on the book at reception. We first of all went to the Barcardi museum which was interesting and explained about the family who started it and we got a free Barcardi Breezer and some 8 year old rum, then we stopped at a shopping centre and then on to the Diamond Centre where we had a video about diamonds and could wander round the shop where there were some lovely items, but we resisted temptation. Again, a morning passed on OK.

Whilst the Beach Club isn’t somewhere I would say to people that they really must visit, we didn’t have any complaints and if you want a reasonably priced All Inclusive holiday then you won’t go far wrong there.

We stayed at the Torremolinos Beach Club from 21-28 January. We took a taxi to the hotel which cost €12 going there, after checking the price with the driver first, and €17 returning to the airport with a taxi booked by the hotel.

We had booked half board although guests booked with Thomsons are always AI. Thomas Cook also use this hotel. We upgraded to AI at a cost of €12 per person per day.

We had requested adjacent twin and single rooms with a pool view, but were allocated rooms at the back and on two different floors. The hotel was full that night, but we were able to change rooms next day. The rooms were basic, but very clean and comfortable. One room had a double bed and the other had twin beds. Toiletries included shampoo, shower/bath gel, a comb and a sponge. There is a TV in the room showing Sky News, CNN and Eurosport. There is also a complimentary bottle of water in the room on arrival which is a nice touch.

The food was very good with a wide selection of salads and main courses. I can be a little fussy, but I managed to have a four course lunch every day and a five course dinner. In the restaurant there is red and white wine available on tap, soft drinks, water and jugs of beer and sangria. On Friday nights there is a Gala dinner with steaks, prawns, lobster and paella. Champagne is available with breakfast every morning.

Locally produced spirits, wine and cocktails are available at the Piano Bar and the Magnum Bar, including a local version of Baileys which was very good.

There were daytime activities five times a day which were very well supported. These included rifle shooting, pistol shooting, French boules, mat bowls, killer pool, killer darts, quizzes and giant Connect 4.

The evening entertainment was OK, not wonderful, but not dreadfully bad either. There was a Monster Show, Argentinean Gouchos, a Neil Diamond tribute, a female one woman show, Andres on the organ who was very good and ballroom and line dancing two evening. There was usually something on until 9pm when the bingo started and another act after 10pm. The bingo was very well supported with €70 for a line and €330 for a house.

The hotel is right across the road from the beach and a good 30 minute walk from the centre of Torremolinos. There is a bus which leaves from outside the hotel into the centre and costs €1.

This is our second visit to the Beach Club and we intend to return again, but will book directly with the hotel next time.

Have just returned from a weeks stay at Beach Club.First time have been all inclusive and cannot fault this hotel, room was massive with two three quarter beds and two single, spotless clean with maid service and clean towels every day.

The variety of food in the restaurant is brilliant, full breakfast with proper sausage (not frankfurters)plus all cereals, atlunch and evening dinner there was so much choice always a salad and pasta section, carvery of beef or pork plus fish dishes also a kids section with burgers, beans chicken nuggets and chips.

There were chips served at every meal, there is also a Pizza/Burger Bar with garlic bread if you are too fussy to find anything to fill up on.Always a variety of cakes, fresh fruit and also fruit salad and a freezer full of ice cream.

The hotel was very clean in both the rooms and the public areas.

The pools were also very clean although would have been better with a bit more room for sunbeds around it. A lot of people seem to reserve sunbeds and not use them till afternoon which was annoying.

The food was excellent and always very well presented. There was so much choice and something for even the most fussy eaters.

The staff were very friendly.

The entertainment was the only thing that let the holiday down. There were a couple of good singers especially the Welsh singer he was brilliant and a real entertainer. However this didn't spoil our holiday as we made our own entertainment and chatted to people we met.

We had such a relaxing break here and with the beach on the doorstep it was fantastic.

We have already booked for 2 weeks next August - a week wasn't long enough.

Beach Club Hotel is an excellent hotel - we first visited in December 2004 & was a bit worried after reading reports regarding food/drink. But nothing to worry about - we decided to go again to see what it was like in the summer - again couldn't fault it.

Food was excellent - something for everyone no matter how fussy.

Entertainment was as expected - nice that in summer is held on the terrace. Bingo well worth playing.

Pools cleaned every morning & pool area cleaned several times a day by bar staff.

Lifts do have a mind of there own but we managed - we weren't in a rush to get anywhere.

Beach great - nice walk into centre - bus & train station close by.

Do Not be put off by previous reviews about food - we could not fault the food

Have a good one!

The hotel public areas are quite large, we stayed all-inclusive.

The hotel I found was quite clean.

The food was piping hot although it was very repetitive, the chef cooked fresh joints of beef and pork etc, which were very nice. You're ok for chips, they were constantly on offer, lots of rices and salads, but not much of a choice with hot meals. The children didn't think much of the choices.

The location is on the edge of Torremolinos, a bit out of the way, although a walk along the pleasant front for about ten minutes you will start to hit the start of the shops. A 15min stroll from the train station.

Staff are friendly but didn't think much of the reception service, weren't very helpful changing money for the children for the pool table or crisp machines etc.

We had to wait about an hour to gain access to our room, which was situated in the annex, reception informed me our room was still being cleaned because a lady was ill, sick and had been in bed all day. This was approx 6.45 in the evening when we arrived, they didn't seem bothered.

Entertainment was quite good, but it was dragged out, bingo everyday with good houses, shows, cabarets, magicians and very good tribute singers, well some were.

Kids clubs I can't comment on, my children wouldn't join.

I wouldn't go back to the hotel, won't go all-inc again, my husband had to buy his lager in bottles, he didn't like their lager, crisps had to be bought from the machines etc.

The hotel was way to far out for my liking, too much walking for the children, and a lot of people taken ill with vomiting during our stay, which they said was a virus, however, we had no problems.

We arrived at the Beach club with an open mind after reading the other reviews.
Firstly we were placed in the annexe, this was ok as it as 2 seperate rooms with 4 beds( more privacy), it was very clean , the maids were in everyday.if like us you had younger children it was quieter than the main hoel later at night.

On our 3rd day my husband and I came down with the "dreaded bug", when we approached skytours we were told that there was a viral infection going around the hotel and up to 70% of the hotel had had the bug, However 2 days later we noticed Health officials checking all the food and water, when we went back to skytours there refused to comment. We never did found out what it was.

The food was good, always plently of choice and piping hot. Good choice for the children.

To get a sunbed you had to be up by 8, has many people reserved beds but did not sunbathe until mid afternoon, this was annoying.

Overall dispite having the bug we found our holiday at the Beach club good and very relaxing.

We made our own arrangements and booked direct and saved over £1000 on cheapest brochure price.

Overall this hotel was very good the only complaints being that the lifts have a mind of their own and it was a lottery which floor you ended up on.

And also that public areas were not kept very clean.

We stayed for two weeks all inclusive and found the hotel to be very clean and tidy at all times, the pool was cleaned everyday and pool area.

The food itself was nice but it was very simaler everyday and we became tired of eating the same foods all the time.

There isnt much around the hotel such as shops etc but you can catch a bus outside he hotel to the town centre.

The hotel staff were all very friendly and the entertainment was always very good.

This hotel was the best all inclusive hotel we have ever stayed in the food was amazing plenty to eat even for really fussy people.

We stayed in the annex which was right near the holel the rooms were lovely and clean.
The staff were really nice and friendly and worked so hard, the entertainment was brill, and the kids loved the kids club, the games and the mini disco.

The pool area was really nice and clean lots of sunbeds. Just outside the hotel is the most lovely beach nice and clean.

We loved this hotel that much we've booked up again for 2006 I couldnt fault it in any way at all. Well done the beach club hope its as nice next year.

Arrived back from two weeks at the Beach Club and here are my thoughts on the holiday.

Accommodation: We asked following previous reviews for the Annex Apartments at the rear of the hotel and found them to be comfortable if somewhat sparse on the wardrobe space. They were kept clean and the towels were changed every day with the bed linen once. Air-conditioning worked well and although we only used it once or twice during our stay it would be a godsend in the height of the summer. Note: If you want to use the fridge then you will have to buy the key to the kitchenette at a cost of 3 euros a day.

Dining/Food: The experience of wiping your hands every time you enter the dining room is not a problem, the only problem was the people that ignored the request and didn’t do it. That really annoyed me! The food was fine, it wasn’t gourmet by it was always piping hot and there was lots of it, with plenty of choice even for my sister in-law who is a veggie.

Hotel General: The general areas were kept clean by the staff it was just the inconsiderate clientele that made the mess and didn’t bother to clean up after themselves. This I found embarrassing. The only thing that let it down was the entertainment. The hotel entertainment team dragged everything out. Firstly the kiddies disco started at around 8:30PM, finished at around 9:15PM and then people waited around for the bingo tickets to be sold when the team felt they would do it then another gap before the game of bingo. Following another gap the evening entertainment started anywhere between 10:10PM and 10:35PM. When it did start the only two acts worth watching were two singers the best being the welsh guy. (A younger version of Tom Jones). The worst one was the monster show. When they started they were dressed like monsters and the young kids were frightened and a few cried and that was the end of that for them!!

Overall we enjoyed ourselves at the beach club but without sounding snobbish I don’t know whether we would go back as the entertainment team left us with a slightly tacky feeling.

We stayed in the annex rooms across from the main hotel building. The rooms were very cramped as we had 2 adults, a 15 year old and a 9 year old in one room,t here was only one wardrobe for all our clothes etc.

Apart from that the hotel itself was great, it was very clean with maid service and clean towels everyday.

There was no problem with the food, quite varied everyday and a good variety of drinks in the bars.

The staff were friendly and helpful.

The entertainment was very adult based with no childrens club or activities, evening entertainment mainly tribute shows/dancing etc but the bingo is good fun.

We had no problems with the location of the holiday there is a variety of shops within a 20-30 minutes walk, the bus stop is directly outside the hotel and the train is about a 5-10 min walk (although this is uphill).

When we booked this hotel we were very sceptical about it because of the mainly bad reviews. To be honest, we were all dreading getting there.

On arrival at the hotel we asked if we could stay in the apartment block as opposed to the hotel itself. They were very accommodating and gave us all rooms in the apartment block. They were excellent rooms. Couldn't be faulted in any way at all. (I do wish I had asked to see a hotel room just out of curiosity, but I forgot).

The food was absolutely excellent. There was no evidence whatsoever of the "dreaded bug" that everyone seemed to be talking about in previous reviews. All I can say is that the hotel was very clean indeed, and the staff were excellent.

So if you're thinking of going to this hotel, I would 100% recommend it. I have actually booked to go again in May for 2 weeks and absolutely cannot wait to get back there.

This was our first all inclusive holiday, so we went with an open mind.
The staff were very friendly and the hotel clean.

The choice of food in the restaurant was excellent, there was something for every taste and it was presented beautifully.

On entering the restaurant everyone has to clean their hands.
If you did want to go out for the day the hotel provided a picnic.

We liked the idea of a non smoking restaurant and in the entertainment room they had a non smoking area too.

The entertainment was fantastic.

The hotel is a good 25 minute walk to torremolinos, but it was a pleasant stroll along the beautiful seafront.

An alternative was to catch the bus outside of the hotel.
we enjoyed our stay and would return there.

It was great value for money all inclusive holiday.
