| said: On arrival we were happy with the outside view of the accommodation. However, on entering the rooms we were not prepared for how basic the facilities were. No kettle, just a small saucepan and very few pieces of cutlery. The furniture was very old, and a bit of carpentry to fix the loose knobs would be useful.Towels and bed linen was changed every 3-4 days, which was not often enough. Cleaning was restricted to mopping over the floors with a very wet mop. No apparent cleaning of sinks or baths, but my wife took care of this herself. The shower was a mixer tap fitment, but you could not turn the tap on to fill the bath, so you had to fill it from the shower head. Water not always warm, so a couple of cold showers. Only saving grace was the good food available. Music played round the pool area was much too loud. Pool was only cleaned twice, to my knowledge, while we were there.

| said: from the moment we got off the plane was a disaster, sent to the wrong coach, then arrived at the sierene and was very dark and dreary, was allocated a room which we were later kicked out of as was given the wrong room. brothers room was disgusting if u get number 2, good luck, it stank of sewage, the door didnt shut, handles were hangling off the walls as were the cabinets. bathroom soo small that the door hit the sink so u had 2 squeeze in to go 2 the loo. very basic rooms, 2 ring heater to cook on and a fridge. not suitable wneh trying to heat a babys milk bottle. staff okay owners sons were brillant and a credit to the owner, wish i could say the same about him. but the entertainment was brill, bbq was fantastic and the other holiday makers made the holiday alot more enjoyable. however the hotel is on a very busy main road so watch ur little ones, but wild recomment the panorama in town for meals as they have an indoor playcentre for the kiddies. would definately not go back here, and as we were leaving a family was going mad about room 36 or 38 its like a prison cell with no windows, so be warned!!!!

| said: We stayed in a two bedroom studio, it was supposed to have a sitting area, this was tiny and not suitable for a family of 4. The accommodation we got was not what was pictured in the brochure. Please take a kettle. Toilet rolls are not provided. We had clean towels only three times during our two week stay. The first week our rooms were cleaned twice, the second week every second day. The room when we arrived was quite dirty, hand prints and grubby marks all over the wardrobes, these stayed the same throughout our duration. Our bedroom had a balcony facing the main road which is unbelievably noisy, and to the side we had a private house of which had 4 dogs patrolling the grounds all day and night. At night the dogs screamed, howled and barked continuously from about 1.00 AM to 5.00 AM, then at 6.00 AM the cockerels start. You get accustomed to the cockerels but not the dogs and traffic. Even with a few drinks and cotton wool in your ears the noise was very loud. The air conditioning unit above the main entrance to the apartment leaked water onto the floor continuously, thus wetting your feet every time you went in and out of the apartment or to the toilet. Gregory and his wife seemed nice and the food was good. The accommodation was a let down.
Best restaurants was Panorama and Paris, Michaelos was very quick service but quality not as good as the other two mentioned. F1 carting is great, we recommend this. The cruise around the island is nice also with some breathtaking scenery. The shipwreck is a must see.
Hiring a car is cheap around 85 euros for 3 days. Quads 35 to 40 euros.
YoYo,s bar good for a drink and food on the way back from the beach.
Beaches are nice enough, the sea is clean and the most areas are sandy not gravel.
No cockroaches, quite a few rats at night on the main roads and lots of roaming three legged dogs.

| said: The Sirene is a great family run hotel, they can't do enough for you, Gregory and his wife are very hard workers and the rest of the staff always had a smile for you too.
The pool was a great attraction for my kids and was cleaned every day
The food was first class and loads of it.
The rooms were cleaned on a regular basis with no complaints, just remember to buy your own toilet rolls!
Only down fall was the dark winding road which with kids we took taxis (some mad drivers!) But altogether it was a great place.

| said: The Sirene Apartments were great! Great for people of all ages, there were children of all ages around and single couples too! We all enjoyed it! The Karaoke Nights (Tuesdays) and Barbaque (Saturdays) were great too!
Greg the owner was always there to help and everyone was very friendly, the room was clean for arriving and cleaned on a regular basis after that 3 or 4 times a week. The food downstairs was great, you could eat there every night if you wanted! Although I would advise that you venture out and see try other places. All the staff were great!
I would eturn anyday! The only thing I would complain about is the location it is a little far out but taxis are cheap and the walk is nice!

| said: The Sirene in Kalamaki was very basic just what we expected for greece it was fine for a base,we never really did any cooking so the basic cooking facilities were ok.We did take a kettle which was great as you only get a very small pan to boil water in.
The apartments were really not cleaned very well during our three week stay and yes you do have to buy your own toilet paper which is not a problem 1 euro for a two pack.Greg who runs the apartments does work extemely long hours as does his wife but he could have been a bit more helpfull in some situations...Yanis who works there part time was great always had a smile even gave us a lift a few times.
There was no entertainment at the apartments only one grreek night wiwh food and wine which was fun but being a bit out of the way i felt they could have had some more entertainment throughout the week.
The food here is lovely and very reasonable large pizza 5 euros toasties 2-3 euros large breakfast 4 euros very large baked potatoes 3 euros just a few examples of a very large menu but we were not dissapointed.Timed our walk into the start of the village 15-20 mins strolling with the kids or 10 mins on our own.
Would go again but not to the Sirene, would like to be a bit more central..about the cockrels they never woke me once and i am a fairly light sleeper but did wake another one in our party who had a studio to the back of the apartments.

| said: Serene Apartments Kalamaki. Went self catering, with our 3 daughters ages,14,10,8, had room overlooking the pool,(very nice) clean rooms but very basic, kitchen ok, only 2 rings to cook on, very few cutlery.
Food at the snack bar was lovely, nice toasties for breakfast, and chip butties were huge and only 2 euros, see the size of their Sunday lunches, and only 6 euros Mmmm.
The Sirenne is not an ideal location, take a torch, it's about a 20 min walk to the main shops and restaurants, which isn’t long, but be careful of the traffic as they do like to speed down this road (no pavements.) There were 2 crashes while we were there.
Places to eat Mikelos, the staff very friendly and food was excellent, Panarama roof top restaurant lovely, Estiaz nice place, Ruby’s Chinese/Indian by the taxi rank well worth a try.
Oh yeah, did I mention the cockrels, they crowed 24/7, which in turn wake up the dogs, and get them barking, but you do get used to it, and its quite funny in the end...
The bar staff were fab, Gregg the barman was so nice he works sooo hard and gives you free shots to drink in the night.
BBQ night on Saturdays, 7 euros adult 5 children, it's a must so much food, and you can keep going up for more.
Greek dancing on Tuesdays, try it when you’ve had a few drinks, it’s a laugh.
Would go back to the Sirenne as the kids loved it. They met so many new friends there. But would get taxi's everytime, for only 5 euros each way why risk being knocked over...
