would like to share my comments regarding this hotel 'fabulous' booked through thomson for our wedding destination in oct. booked about 1 year ago all inclusive for 14 days which included our wedding well to say it was stress free is an understatement.had an upgrade when we arrived to a honeymoon suite which was fantastic had the wedding on the grounds and it was just all taken care of ranging from the hotel staff to the wedding co-ordinator from thomsons who was absolutely brilliant.wedding was set in the hotel grounds under a huge gazeebo which was all laid whith chairs and flowers you gave the music you wanted to the hotel and they organised playing it for you temperature was about 30 degrees what more can you ask for.

This Hotel is fantastic. The pool is very clean and is big. The food is very nice nice selection but kids may struggle as do not have a kids menu. The rooms are spotless cleaned everyday. The location is about an hours walk down to the harbour nice bars shops to go while walking down to the harbour waterpark is 10 mins away which you can take a bus or a taxi. The entertainment very good in the day but at night not so good could maybe go on for longer. Hotel staff very nice to speak to you. Probeley best to go inclusive as drinks are expensive in hotel. I would definitley come back here again good for all tymes eg familys couples.

just got back from one of the best holidays anybody could want. we went half board then up graded to all-inclusive on the second day. the hotel was spotless, the choice of food was great, location good, hotel staff went out of there way to help with any queries we had. the kids club entertainment went above and beyond the call of duty to entertain the kids they all must have the patience of saints. the pool is one of the best we have seen and the cleanest.the hotel room was very clean the only thing i was dissapointed with was the sofa bed very noisy at night when moving about and very uncomfortable.apart from this we would definetly go back.

The Atlantic Aeneas Nissi Beach Cyprus, we went for my Son's wedding. What a wonderful time we had the day was perfect everything went like a dream. The hotel is beautiful, the staff a breath of fresh air the food was unfaultable the setting magnificent, the rooms beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. We are all going back again. Thank you to all who made the wedding and our stay so perfect.

Just arrived home from a 2 week stay at the Aeneas. Having read such mixed reviews on here we travelled with a little trepidation. But after our 2wk stay our opinion is that it is an excellent hotel.
Rooms: We upgraded directly with the hotel to a superior room (€14/night) which was excellent, spacious and very clean. Contrary to some comments the TV not only had Sky news but 2 English movie channels which were great when escaping the mid day heat.Air con could have been cooler. We went half board but upgraded to All Inclusive after 3 days due to the very expensive drink prices, £4 a pint,£2.60 soft drinks,£3 a glass wine OUCH!!Upgrade price €26/day/adult, 13 Child.
Pool/Sunbeds/Bars: The Pool was simply amazing, so large that even though the Hotel was full it seemed quiet.Only slight complaint was when you wanted to cool down from the heat, it was like getting in a luke warm bath. Yes people were out before 8 grabbing their sunbeds but we never went to the pool before 10am and never failed to get 2 usually 3 beds together. Seemed more than enough for all guests. We mostly went to the beach and did other things in the mornings but still always got beds on our return. Several bars (3 poolside/swim up) all staffed by very pleasant and helpful staff. I never felt that we were made to wait long or that they favoured some over others. Bar staff mingled amongst guests on their sunbeds taking drink orders. George who worked in the cocktail bar was outstanding, always pleasant and fiendly.
Food: The outside resturant was excellent (only used indoor 1 once for al la carte). You would be shown to a table, your drinks order taken and then free to enter the buffet room. Compared to other AI resturants i have been to this was much better and relaxing and you felt you were in a normal resturant.Lots of waiter staff on hand to help and assist. The food itself was very good with a good variety of international, local and of course Kids choices.fish choices were excellent. Like all AI resturants however you tend to want a bit of everything and by the second week you've probably tasted most of it in the first week and it can get a little repetative. We used the al la Carte once and it was excellent. Agree with previous report about smoking issue.
Entertainment: Only a small entertainment team (5 but 1 was finishing by our 2nd week and wasn't interested). Day time activities were OK and they tried hard but wasn't great. You had a choice of evening entertainment, Staged area was poor quality artists but some good (sometimes!!) relaxing singers in cocktail bar and resturant area.
All in all we thoroughy enjoyed our stay and our son made some great friends

This hotel is fab, the rooms are lovely and spacious enough for a couple, not sure of the space for a family though.

We stayed all inclusive for the first time in this hotel, we have been there B&B in the past, but this was brilliant, the food was lovely, especially the fish dishes. The staff worked very hard, and were very friendly, unless you turn up half hour before end of meal times!!

The location of the hotel is great for peace and quiet, and a lovely walk into ayia napa centre in the evening. The road into town has lots of shops and resturants and takes about 30 mins in you don't stop

The best thing at this hotel is the swimming pool and area, and i agree that people were coming down earlier than allowed to put towels on beds, but when we got down about 10.30 there were still some available. The pool is so big and there are lots of different areas, so its peaceful even with kids!

The entertainment was a bit disappointing, the best thing was the guy off the tv - he was great. But not a 5 star entertainment panel.

The Worse thing about the whole holiday, was smoking being allowed in the resturant area, we had to move tables a couple of times, i did report it and asked if there could be a non-smoking area, they were going to do it, but had not by the time i left. It is very disappointing, and totally inacceptable, i did get told i could eat in doors in the resturant, but why should i? Why do i have to move, i was a bit annoyed about that comment.

I would go to this hotel again definately, however, i will find out first if they have changed the smoking policy or i will just be going B&B again and not all inclusive.

This is not the five star hotel it's cracked up to be.
Three stars at most.
The pool area is very good and complex clean and tidy.
Not too much trouble with sun longers but some guests are up at 6am putting out towels, the hotel says it takes them away but doesnt, a proper five star hotel does not allow this.
Rooms are ok a little dated and not that sapcious, not 5 star. cleaning/housekeeping staff very good and friendly.
Rooms where you can enter the pool are good depending on which one you get, ours was in the new complex.
Only sky news in hotel room no other english channels.
Some building work in progress at the hotel that was noisy at times.
This is now an all inclusive hotel and I would not stay there again or go to any hotel that offers all inclusive.
The food was awful, lots of "choice" but all poor quality muck like roast, pancakes for breakfast lunch and dinner, cottage pie! over cooked pasta, over cooked fish, sweet and sour chicken chicken nuggets, smiley faces etc.not 5 star food!
No local food at all apart from wafer thin cheap lamb chops and dry prok kebabs.
No pitta bread, greek yoghurt, hummous, tzatziki or other local dishes.
The food is no better than your average hospital /school or works canteen.
The A la carte restaurant is ok, serving food that would have been on the table d'hote menu in its pre all inclusive days.
Local wine is only choice with dinner and got looked at like I had 6 heads for asking for a wine list!!
You do have a wine list in the a la carte restaurant.
Bar staff in Plori bar are very slow and keep you waiting for ages. Drinks an absolute rip off, equivilent of £4 a pint for the local beer.
If you must stay here stay bed and breakfast, eat and drink out in the resort where food is much better.

We have many complaints with this hotel. Definitley not five star. Would rate it a 3 at a push. We were all inc and had to wait an hour for a gin and tonic to be ordered and served. Total rip off!!! Not all drinks inc in price ie had to pay for an irish coffee because we were told it was a desert coffee that had to be paid for. We both felt we were not treat with respect a 5 star would offer. We have been with this hotel chain in the past and have been totally impressed but this was a huge dissappointment. The food would give Jamie Oliver nightmares! Worse than school dinners. Thomsons rep was excellent at lip service but a total waste of space at getting any satisfaction. I would not recommend this hotel.

Hi all.
Pretty much agree with the last review. This hotel is most definately NOT a 5 star. I cannot understand why it would be classed so. It is a good hotel but would probably say it was 4 star and that is based on the marvellous swimming pool alone. The reception area is non descript and totally underwhelming. The rooms to be fair are comfortable with air con and comfy beds. The gym is badly out of date and lacking acceptable range of modern equipment. The food is good but similar everynight - Thomson mention gourmet dining in their blurb - no way! this is not a criticism because the food is good quality with plenty of variety but to pitch it to gourmet standard is aload of rubbish. the staff in the restaurants are supurb - they work their socks off and always keep a smile on their face - respect! The staff in the day bars were inconsistent - they would serve their favourites and sometimes kept you waiting an eternity - something that a lot of people picked up on. The nighttime entertainment was dire - bingo quiz nights and a dodgy parrot show ( where the parrots never flew - clipped wings?) summed it all up. The magicians show apart - mainly rubbish - not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.
Getting beds was a nightmare - to get a decent spot of your choice you had to be up at 6.30am or it ws pot luck - despite warnings to the contrary that the hotel would not tolerate. Sad as it is I ended up joining the morning rush.
Back to the pool - wow - fantastic - felt like a freshwater sea - so much space - we were there prime school holiday time but it never felt crowded. The best feature of the hotel without doubt. praise to for the reps who organised daytime entertainment - water pole, aqua areobics, volleyball etc - really well organised and great fun.
Great location just across the road from nissi beach and far enough away from any external noise.
All in all an enjoyable and relaxing time- but not 5 star

We have just come back from two lovely weeks at the Aeneas Hotel and would highly recommend it. We had such a nice stay and the hotel was very picturesque and not like the other big hotels around the area. I am not so sure that I would actually class it as a five star hotel but from the other reviews that we read before going it is getting a lot better.

Just to let people know as well that there is ongoing work at this hotel but its only a small amount which is on the new part of the hotel. There is a pool bar getting built and some new apartments. We did hear that a few people were unhappy being around that area because the noise from the diggers and from the drills woke them very early and what they were doing looked pretty dangerous because it was right next to the pool area were people were swimming. This never affected us and we have to say what they are making looks beautiful and very modern looking.

When we actually got to the hotel it was about 10:30pm due to our delayed plane we were dreading having to book into the hotel as it usually takes about half an hour to an hour but lucky for us it only took us 10 minutes. We were given a room in the main block so the concierge brought up the bags for us. If you were on the other side of the hotel you can be taken by buggie with your cases to your room. The only let down with reception is that you have no idea what you are supposed to do for breakfast or your other meals as they do not tell you anything and they weren’t very smiley. The breakfast is actually situated in the main block just to the right of the reception were the gym and indoor swimming pool is. You are meant to wait to be seated and then help yourself to whatever you want to eat whilst the waiting on staff get your drinks. The variety for breakfast was great. Everyday I kept on saying that I would be healthy but I just couldn’t help myself to the cooked breakfasts, I did do my best to burn it off in the pool with a morning swim before all the kids got in there.

The best part of the hotel was the swimming pool it is massive and really well maintained. The pool staff are always cleaning it so its very well looked after. There are two bridges that go over the pool which were really pretty and it’s a good pool for small children as it gradually gets deeper. The pool is that big that when people have inflatable beds in there you can still swim around them and there is lots of space. The only problem I would say is that there isn’t enough space for beds and there was definitely not enough umbrellas which is so needed due to the heat. We couldn’t believe that people must have been getting up about 6 o’clock just to put their towels on the beds. We were lucky that everyday that we did go down to the pool that we got a bed and we went down around 8:30 but we noticed that the last few days that we were there it was getting very busy due to the kids holidays starting so I think our luck would have ran out and we would have had to get up a lot earlier.

The hotel rooms were nice. There was a sofa bed in the room so I gather the room we had was for 3 – 4 people, have to say that would be such a struggle as there wasn’t much space for clothes. There were six small drawers and then the wardrobe but that only had about 8 hangers so be prepared to live out of your suitcases. The rooms were all air conditioned which was really nice to come in to when you had been outside all day. The towels were changed everyday if needed and they supplied shower gel in the shower and then little bottles of toiletries. If you need an iron & board you just need to get in touch with reception who will send one up to your room. The fridge is tiny and there is a charge if you put anything in it to keep cool but there isn’t any room anyway as its stuffed with all sorts of food and drink. They do leave a bottle of water for you each day but obviously it isn’t cold as it cant be put into the fridge. The main restaurant is all buffet food which is really good as there was a great variety. If you are half board like us you could either have lunch or dinner you just signed each time that you put your drinks order in with your room number and signature. Only one warning of advice is when you sign for your drinks we never got a receipt so when you go to pay at the end of your stay you totally forgot what you have drank so maybe it would be wise to ask for your own receipts or keep a tally of what you have had.

Travelled as 2 couples, paid supplement for "pool view rooms" allocated ground floor rooms with no view of pool, complained and were given 2 more rooms the next day on first floor, suspect ground floor rooms are not refurbished yet, first floor rooms much nicer. Cleanliness in hotel ok,staff, particularly waiters/waitresses work extremely hard and were always pleasant.food varied and plentiful. Entertainment? saw a male singer and two "ratpack type" singers that were good but apart from that entertainment rubbish, def not worth mentioning! stage not curtained and some of the guests let children run around between tables whilst shows on, a bit holiday campish.
The drinks are very pricey, make use of happy hour if you not all inclusive.Last night of hol spoilt, saw staff moving all restaurant gear into outdoor dining area, seems there was a wedding.Felt really annoyed, outdoor dining area was used all the time(if you wore shorts to dinner or smoked mainly) but they just put extra tables here and the staff could not cope with it all, then inconsiderate wedding guests came out there to smoke also, they were even walking around between the tables, food terrible too that night, dried up, we actually told hotel staff that wedding guests seemed more important than hotel guests.Hotel has got banquesting rooms downstairs, suggested they should use them!

Just booked a late holiday to this hotel, I looked at other peoples reports which really put me off, but we found it to be excellent, The food was very good with the half board, you could have lunch or evening meal, with a choice of the hotel menu or buffet or al a carte, which you were credited with a certain amount & just paid the difference.

We usually do 5*+ holidays & it matched those. Evening meals were in different restaurants each nigh so you didn’t get fed up with the same venue, staff lovely, place clean, pool fab for kids & adults.

Bar prices etc on a par with home but cheaper in bars outside the hotel. It’s great if you want a family holiday, with a bit more class, the bar area is nice with speciality coffees, wine tasting nights first class.

The pool at this hotel is definitely 5 star, the rest of the hotel is 4 in my opinion.

The bedroom was standard the bathroom old and in need of a refurb.

The main bar is dark and dingy, I think they need to take a look at the bar at the Adams hotel across the road definitely 5*.

Bar staff very friendly, restaurant staff very slow be prepared to wait at up to at least 1 hr for lunch.

Breakfast was excellent very good selection. Drinks can be expensive and ice creams.

This hotel is in a good location and has a lovely pool, in my opinion it is the only thing about the hotel that is five star.

Our room was spacious and cleaned each day but
the area out side our balcony which you had to walk on to get to the pool was dirty because of bird droppings, these were only jetwashed off once in the two weeks we were there, some form of netting on the roof to deter the birds from perching there would help.

I mentioned this to reception when I checked out they said had I told them earlier the would have made sure the room maid cleaned it off each day.

The buffet breakfast was excellent a very good selection of fresh fruit, cereals and cooked food.

Room service was quick, freindly and good value.

we travelled with family who also stayed at this hotel. their air conditioning was faulty and left puddles on the floor which seeped into the wardrobe floor so they had to put all the shoes on the dressing table to keep them from getting wet and put towels on the floor to sock up the water, this problem took three days to correct. The man who repaired it said it was a long standing recuring problem.

I have stayed at better four star hotel than this and would not return to this particular hotel.

We got married in Cyrus Sept 03 and I must say we had a lovely time at this hotel.

On arrival we didn't get a very nice room and when I mentioned to reception we were getting married there they hadn't been told and moved us. We got a lovely bottle of champagne the day we got married, a champagne breakfast the next morning and also a candlelit dinner. We arranged our own menus with the Banqueting manager when we got there and the meal was amazing even my mum who is very fussy still talks about it. They make the best ever Pina Coladas in the bar with ice cream and their crepes and pancakes in the afternoon are fab. The breakfast is also great.

Would love to go back and definitely recommend this.

The hotel is stunning - the large lagoon pool being it's highlight. Sunbeds and umbrellas were never an issue. The staff were extreemly friendly and hospitable-went out of thier way to help. We only ate once at the hotel and i could not fault the meal at all. There was a different theme meal every night. We used the hotel mainly as a base but from speaking to other families they felt the hotel didn't have much of an atmosphere with other guests. Entertainment was good - always something on every night.

The hotel is just on the outskirts of the centre of ayia napa which in my opinion is good cause you don't get all the rowdiness. There are plenty taxies right opposite the hotel. (cy£4 into ayia napa town and cy£8 to protaras) There is also a bus service which is cheaper - can obtain a timetable from reception.

The hotel is not right on the beach but just across the road. (a few minutes walk to nissi beach) We could see the beach from our room (in main block).

The hotel gets VERY busy on the weekend with all the locals coming to stay there.

What can I say - awful.... We booked the aeneas for our honeymoon and paid for a lovely room with private jacuzzi, which we did not get (or the people next door to us also on their honeymoon).

We were meant get get a lovely welcome package of fruit, champagne, flowers, candle lit dinner, oh guess what, never received any of it.

Pool was filthy, every child at the Aeneas had ear infections. Then we met up with the head of security and local police as the aeneas has trouble with locals, who apart from putting broken glass and cigarette butts in the pool, also like to have a poo in it!!

Our mini bar was restocked once, on the day we left and in 2 weeks our towels were changed all of 3 times.
