First thing to say is that some people see a glass half full, while to others, it is half empty. Same with everything. Hotel is clean, but could really do with a lick of paint and a general 'deep clean' in some areas. But even after saying that, I can only heap praise on the place.
Arrived early hours and then at 7am stood tutting as the crowds flocked to reserve the sunbeds, only to spend the rest of the day wishing we had joined them and did so after that.
Pool is small, but it's right next to a large one called the Mediterranean, so not a big problem surely?
Plenty of seats in the shade for us who are hated by the sun.
Food was pretty good, same old same old, but still well presented and tempting to try stuff that I normally wouldn't try. (Tuna steak now on the shopping list) However, some people did moan a bit about it, then said they are fussy eaters! Maybe all-inclusive is not for you then?
Entertainment weak. Maybe OK for a 5 yr old, but the adult entertainment needs a shake up.
Full of all nationalities, Germans were fine, Italians stood preening them selves all day (Both sexes) and true to form, the Brits let their kids run riot. Things like earning the skills of riding a pushbike is fine..... but maybe not in the restaurant, I kid you not!!!
I'd go back and also recommend it.

this hotel is perfect for a family with young children and non fussy eaters, they do not cater for vegetarians, the same type of food every day breakfast was very good the a/i drinks very good. pool area very crowded-with little chance of getting a lounger unless you got up very early.its 6 steps down to the beach which was lovely. childrens entertainment was very good, but poor for adults.room small for 3 adults and the 3rd bed uncomfortable-ok for a child.we were visted by cocroaches (sorry about spelling)staff sprayed room very soon after we reported it.

Thumbs up from the moment we stepped into the place. Check in took minutes, the keys and info were already laid out, all you had to do was give your name. We arrived late, so our first meal was breakfast. All well cooked and plenty of it. The Snack Bar opened at 12, so if you just fancied a light meal it was there. The main restaurant opened at 1:00pm and served a full and varied menu. Then later, sandwiches/cakes and biscuits. From around 10am the poolside self service drinks are available. Tea and Coffee. Pop and Juices. San Miguel, Pina Colada and Vodka Sun. Then it was off for main meal at 6:00pm. Evening entertainment was a bit slow at the start of our week, but I think we were at the tail end of the early season as it picked up from the Friday. Only being spoiled by showers. We were always down for breakfast at about 7:30 and did notice on the way down that the maids had already got there cleaning gear in the corridors waiting to start. I don`t know what time they cleaned our room as we didn`t return to it until the afternoon. We checked out on Sunday 8th at 12:00pm and found the All Inclusive didn`t end until we boarded the bus for the Airport. This was great for us as we were on a late flight home. All in all we could not fault this hotel and would recommend it and revisit it in the future...

hotel rooms very clean but could do with more storage space, only a wardrobe and three shelves not enough for a family. new mattresses on beds, been repainted so more than adequate.
the food was plentiful, choice of main restaraunt or set grill/barbeque with waiter service in other restaraunt every night. the food was sometimes not to our choice but others really enjoyed it, we have had worse at other hotels.
the drinks were free flowing, either self service or go to the bar, san miguel, spirits, sangria ( very strong) kids slush all day and plenty of other drinks including tea, coffee etc.. ice cream lollies and self service whipped ice cream all free.
location: on the beach and close enough to playa de muro and alcudia.
entertainment: geared towards younger kids and adults three good professional acts while we were there.
dont believe what you might have read its not full of germans, mainly brits and the germans that were there were very friendly.
all in all a very good hotel, staff brill, very clean hotel would recommend it.

Just returned from the condessa after a lovely relaxing holiday.
Fantastic location ,right on the beach.

Hotel bathrooms need updating ,but very clean.
Lovely cleaning staff,very pleasant.

Room had fantastic sea view , it was lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the evening entertainment.
Could do with more power points though!!

It was a nice change to get a good nights sleep because the hotel bar ect closed at 12.00 and guests respected others and noise levels were low!!

Food and restaurant good ,you had a lovely choice of dishes, and the staff very pleasant.

Only downside was the dreaded towels on sunbeds so we went on the beach every day.

Would recommend this hotel if you want a nice relaxing break, nice staff and good food and location.

this holiday was the worst one we have ever been to because in the morning the maid would come in at about 9 but she should not start until 9.30 and if you said go away she would slam the door.the hotel food was lovely we only had one bad meal the restaurant staff were amazing.the hotel location base was pretty amazing the hotel is on the beach.the hotel staff was so rude beacuse if u where sat on the wall then they would not serve you but there was no tables spare and they kick you outof the bar at 12 that is so rude.the entertainment was rubbish so we decide to go else where . we would not use this hotel again it has been invaided by germans and i would not recomend it to any one

Before we went to the Condesa de la Bahia we had read many bad reviews. When we got to the hotel we were happy. It was a lovely hotel. The breakfast was lovely. Everything you want – mushroom, potato hash, beans, ENGLISH sausage, good bacon, black pudding, fried bread, eggs (omelette, boiled and fried) tomatoes, a cheese and ham selection, cereal, drinks, fruit, croissants, cakes biscuits and it goes on!
I was worried about the evening meals because the reviews were bad but it was great. 4 or 5 different meats/fish a night with pasta, chips, roast pots, potatoes and veg. they did very good quality meat like steak and shoulder of lamb. There was chicken fillets in sauce. Chicken nuggets occasionally for fussy kids! And burgers etc. All very hot. Lots of salad items and fresh tuna and mackerel. Lovely puddings too.
I couldn’t of asked for better food.
The one thing we didn’t like about the hotel was the fact that the staff didn’t become your friends very quickly. Because the hotel is SO big there is not that personal touch. This was our fault with booking such a large hotel. We usually like a bit of banter with the bar staff and receptionists but this didn’t happen here. They were all so professional.
The location being on the beach was great. We started using a beach hut style café for drinks in the day but soon learnt it was cheaper to upgrade to all – inclusive for the 2nd week cuz the beach is so close to the hotel we went to the pool bar to get drinks! We have never been the sort to use the pool, but I must say it was so busy in the day we wouldn’t have found a bed unless we went down really early anyway. If you are young girls/lads looking for a hotel then you must know that the area around the hotel is very quiet with only a few small family bars close by. But a 5 minute taxi ride to Bellvue is 3 – 5 euros (depending on taxi company) and there is lots of bars, discos and entertainment there. Cheers at Bellvue is for families until 12ish then the doors shut and it becomes a disco.

We didn’t feel that the staff were strict enough about the towel on the sun loungers rule! We went downstairs one morning to see that all the beds were taken and it was only 7.30! the sun wasn’t out yet! But guess what – hey were all German! The foreign visitors at the hotel were all pleasant apart from the German!

But apart from the little moan above I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and so did everyone else! I was very sad to come home and now have the holiday blues!

Dont get me wrong, the hotel is very clean, right on the beach, food is excellent, reception staff excellent.
But, having been there 3 times now its gone more to the germans ( sorry to say ) than english

The position of hotel is great on the beach. Hotel was very clean and food in restuarant was good . The downside to the hotel is the way it is run i.e all inclusive for the germans and half board for thomson guests . You can if you wanted to upgrade to all inclusive at a rate and if you dont want to be treated like a second class citizen .
the entertainment in hotel is run by hotel poor standard of shows if you can get a seat to watch at the outdoor arena . Take our advice dont sit on wall at the back of tables cos you wont get served . The bar shuts at twelve wether in or outside it but the manager comes at ten to to tell you drink up nobody stays in my bar after twelve even to finish drinks ,you either drink up or take them and sit in reception to finsh or they take them off you.
we were two separate familles on holiday together ages ranging from 11 to 79 some of us had been to hotel before and they had good memm=ories of this hotel and resort but how both of these have changed .
the hotel as i have said earlier not good at all would not stop here again if not all inclusive dont want to know you ,the staff are geared up for the blue band people as we called them , got these served a lot more politer and quicker. Bar staff and waiters are arogant dont ask you to move , only friendly staff were reception and the head waiter who greeted you .
the maid supposed to come between 9.30- 12.00 thats a laugh nine o clock everyday .
the thomson reps well what can i say about these not a lot as you cant work out what they do for there money.
we spent longer at palma than flying out there to get our transfer as we had to wait for two other flights to come , three reps on bus back no welcome to majorca or anything on way to resort or sorry for wait , when complained to rep you are lucky you got a rep on bus . Welcome meeting shorest ever known buy my trips or dont want to know you .
after a poor start with reactions in hotel and of the reps we decided not to spend another penny in hotel apart from drinks at dinner.
we went out everynight not always to same place but i must highly recommend this place to you the pinetree what a place friendly, warm good atmosphere ,quizzes ,party games and karoke after midnight the three guys that run it know how to make you feel wanted .nice to know when in a hotel like this .
unfortunately for alcudia most of the hotels are going all inclusive which is spoiling a beautiful resort lovely beaches , nice bars etc, although this might sound we are winging alot it is how we feel and dont normally moan . First time with thomsons definately the last they dont care once you have booked . Would go back to alcudia in years to come . After all of this the 7 of us still managed to have a good time but as in all cases its what you make it .
just beware if you do go english at this hotel are bottom of pile.

I was quite worried before we went to the Condesa because of the previous reviews but I could not fault it. It was clean, staff in the restaurant were fantastic and it had everything I needed from a holiday. It was not all inclusive when I went - the germans were the only ones that were but I have booked twice for 2008 all inclusive. We loved the whole holiday. My only complaint was in the height of the season there were not enough umbrellas for shade for the kids.
Can't wait to go back to the Condesa!

I think this hotel is was great value for money for the price I paid with Thomsons. We arrived to a very quick check-in and was directed to a room on the 5th floor with gorgeous views over the bay of Alcudia. I had requested a high floor/sea view and although I didn't expect to get it I couldn't believe our luck when we did. The room was on the small side but to be honest how long are you in your room when you are on your hols? The bathroom could have done with a little updating but everything you needed wa there. The location of this hotel is to die for. You are literally on the beach with all the amenitie you need.
I found the food at the hotel to be fab. The only complaint I have would be that round the pool there need to be more umbrella to put the children under out of the un.

The hotel room was very nice , clean and all the towels were changed each day, the location of the hotel was on the fab beach, which we had some lovely long walks also the sea was as safe and shallow.

The staff were really nice and could not do enough for you nothing was too much trouble for them.

My husband and myself went to this hotel for the first time and were very impressed.

Food was excellent, better than some four star hotels we have been to!there was always plenty of choice, we were going to eat out a couple of times during the week, but we found that we didnt need to,it far exceeded our expectations.

The hotels were spotless, clean towels every day.

Location brilliant, on a lovely beach,we had a third floor room with wonderful views of alcudia.

Hotel staff were polite and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble, we had a problem with the hot water, we told the reception staff, and within ten minutes a maintainance man arrived and put it right.

Entertainment was not brilliant but ok.

We would definitely go back. This hotel is rated three star, but is more like a four star hotel in every way.

We visited the Condesa because of recommendation and would definitely visit again.

The hotel was superb, the location being A1.The hotel was kept very clean and tidy and all praise to the chambermaids who clean the bedrooms every day to a very high standard!

We found the staff very friendly and the entertainment staffs work their socks off to keep all the guests happy and entertained. I particularly liked the fact that if you didn’t wish to participate in any activity you weren’t pushed to join in. My 2 children joined in many activities which gave us a chance to enjoy the pool area which can get busy but in high season what do you expect!

However being in such close proximity to the beach - who needs the pool! The beach is the best I have ever visited. If you have children you should definitely go here!

The food was no more but no less than what I expected. The restaurant was clean and well air conditioned. The only grumble I do have is the children’s buffet. It seemed very limited for them, chips or pasta every evening!

We found the food in the hotel ok, (great if you like pork and chicken). The plates were hot, so was the food, a good kids choice at breakfast and dinner.

We found the hotel, pool area, and rooms spotless. Could not fault the cleanliness of this hotel at all.

The hotel location beach wise was excellent, the beach is lovely - great for the kids. We hired bikes to go to Alcudia centre, otherwise its about 4 euros for a taxi (not much, but still a bit of a hike).

I personally found the bar staff abrupt. The cleaners were the friendliest.

The kids club is excellent (thanks to Angie and Kirsty), our daughter loved it. The other entainment is good also for the kids.

This was our first visit to this hotel and we loved it, we had requested 2 pool side rooms both with sea view, our room was the best right on the end of the hotel on the 3rd floor so had panoramic views into Alcudia and Can Picafort. My parents who were on the same booking had a room at the opposite end of the hotel over looking the road and although still a slight sea view the sun never reached their room so it smelt slightly damp, couldn't change rooms due to hotel being full. The location is excellent and we had a lovely holiday.

A quick tip if your thinking of booking this hotel make a request for a room overlooking the pool or an even number room, the odd numbers look out to the road!!

This was the 4th time back to this hotel and yet again we were not disappointed! The staff were very welcoming and friendly!

The hotel is right on the beautiful beach so you can just roll out of bed onto the beach and the rooms were beautifully positioned, facing the beach and overlooking the pool, and cleaned and tided every day!

The food again was of a good standard which kept the 4 children and baby very happy!

The entertainment was good but we didn't stay in the hotel every night. The children especially looked forward to the appearance of "coco" the hotel mascot!! again a fabulous time was had by all in the party and we will be visiting again!

We stayed in the club turquios hotel in the resort of marmaris. After a long transfer from the airport we arrived at the Turquios.

The rooms are very basic but very clean and tidy. The linen was changed every other day, and the towels were always in pretty shapes laid on the bed. The staff work very hard in keeping the holidaymakers happy.

As marmaris is a very big town our location was very good compared to some.About a 20 minute walk to the beach but shops and bars within 5 mins.

Entertainment was very good everybody is catered for.The pool area is lovely with daily pool games.

Evening entertainment was good also. Poeple tend to go back every year.

We will be returning i'm sure but are trying somewhere different next year.

5th visit to Majorca - 1st time in Alcudia

Rooms very small and storage limited.

Got home to find £90 on credit card bill for fridge, safety deposit box + TV remote control thought this a bit expensive on top of the holiday. Reception staff very abrubt as the remote never actually worked at all - they said it was working on theirs ok.

Bar staff quite abrubt as well - telling us to move off the terrace @ midnight as soon as entertainment stopped - not a chance to finish our drinks one night....2 adults and a 7 year old - hello .....

We had paid extra for seaview and requested high floor at booking stage however we got 1st floor view was ok - very limited seaview.

Rooms very noisy at night time - fire alarm went off 3.30am 2nd night, phone rang twice at night- no one there? - maintenance building a new shed for the animation team at ungodly hours....other guests dragging furniture across floors - kids running up and down corridors - worst noise I have ever encountered (bear in mind this is all after midnight)

Location excellent which made up for alot

Beach fantastic - pool freezing tho...

Food got a bit boring - we ate out quite a bit as kids choice not the best fed up with chips.

Animation crew excellent throughout the day and night as where Thomson Zidzone reps - night time entertainment varied - some nights animation team very talented - sometimes outside acts came in - we enjoyed it.

Would probably go back for location and gorgeous beach.

Hotel is in prime location, in the Playa de Muro area of Alcudia, 4 steps down to the beach.

We had booked a family room for 4 and space was limited. Not much wardrobe space either and I wonder whether they had put us into a normal room, but as we had a fantastic side sea view and pool view it made up for it. I think that all the even numbered rooms have either a sea view or pool view or even both.

Hotel has 5 floors and 3 lifts.

Rooms were cleaned daily with towels changed every other day. Hired a fridge for the room for £40, but what you get is a mini bar, with room inside for only a couple of small bottles of water if you lower the shelf height right to the bottom.

Hotel has one of the largest pools in Alcudia and was cleaned daily. The doors to the pool area were opened about 07.50 but the usual queuing for beds starts about 7.30.

This hotel though, also has guests from Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, France and Spain, and these guests are all on an 'All Inclusive' basis, and I think this is wrong. I questioned if we could upgrade to this and was told you need to book it on Check In. It has to be booked for the full duration of your stay, and has to be paid immediately on Check In, at a cost of;-
20 euros per adult per day.
10 euros per child per day.

For a 2 week holiday this comes to £600, and unlike other All Inclusive's I have stayed in does not include food from the snack bar, and does not include ice creams or snacks for children. It only gives you your mid-day meal and drinks.

Entertainment.

Drink prices were 2.60 euros for a pint of San Miguel and 1.60 for half. Soft drinks also 1.60. Fruit Shoots were 3.50 euros each. Cost me nearly £5 for 2. Nearly died of shock.

It takes ages to get a drink if you order one from the waiters so you are better off getting it yourself.

The evening's entertainment is just So-So, with about 6 professional shows over the 2 weeks. Other shows are put on by the hotels animacion team who are fantastic at entertaining with various games and activities throughout the day, and deserve a medal, but not that good at miming to English music and dancing for a show at night, but then hey, these people are Spanish and Italian, whose first language is not English so what can you expect, but it just didn't look professional and a lot of people left to go elsewhere.

Entertainment starts at 8.30 with Mini-Disco for the kids, and then Bingo at 9.30 called in 4 different languages then the main show about 10.00. The magician show we thought was great.

Thomson reps. were good and helped with any queries we had, but the 'Welcome meeting' was just the usual 'Trying to sell the trips meeting' really, and perhaps they should rename it.

Kidzone reps were fantastic and thanks to Nicola, Lucy and Simon who all did a great job.

Food was OK, nothing brilliant just OK. Choice was good but food temperature could have been a bit hotter at times, and children get their own buffet section in the restaurant.

Reception staff were good and here you can buy your newspapers for 20 cents more than they cost. Sun and Mirror 2.20 euros each.

Travellers cheques changed here was near enough the same as exchange places outside, so I don’t think it's worth carrying cheques and passports outside for maybe 1 euro more.

First the Positive's

This hotel is in a location to die for, slap bang on the beach.

For a couple the room size is more than adequate (though insufficient power points was a problem).

Second the Variable's

If you are fortunate to have a room that faces the beach it is a heavenly view, if not you are facing the street and all the noise that entails.

The bathroom in our room looked as if the sealant around the bath was long overdue for replacement and with a combination of missing sealant and it's grubby appearance it did not impress much.

I do not know if this was due to it being May but with poolside temperature at 26 Degrees somehow the pool was always freezing cold - the poolside was always packed but the pool was always empty

Thirdly the Negatives

I do not know if the following is applicable throughout the season but during May the British residents were half board and the German residents were all inclusive which meant that you were guaranteed a queue for absolutely everything. It is for this reason I cannot comment on the evening entertainment because we never saw any - the place was packed to the rafters and a 15 minute queue at the bar was the norm (incidentally bar prices were more expensive than I have encountered before in Majorca or mainland Spain).

Meals -

Breakfast was fine (though the dining room staff seemed incapable of keeping the food topped up and the tables cleared - if they are struggling in May how will they manage in July & August ?)

Evening Meal was a disaster with a predominance of German cuisine (we had 2 evening meals and then gave up the idea and went out to eat every night)

ALL meals were warm rather than hot - by the time one had put the food on the plate and returned back to the table it was barely lukewarm (the fact the plate warmers were not switched on did nothing to alleviate the problem).

I have stayed at this hotel twenty years ago and was really impressed by how much it had changed. The decor was fresh and welcoming with friendly reception staff to greet you. Room maid service was daily and any mess was cleaned with a friendly smile!!

The location of the hotel was excellent easy reach of shops and cafes the beach being only a couple of steps down from the hotel pool.

Entertainment the ususal! loud!

Only fault I would say was although the food was fine with plenty of choice the queues at meal times became frustrating, there did not seem to be enough staff to cope with the amount of people and they haven't hit their busy period yet! Much the same went for the hotel bars queues!! Not much fun for the kids waiting to be fed and watered.

I would go back again but keep this in mind!!

The hotel is excellently located just a few steps and your on the beach.

The pool was very big the only problem that it was extremely cold so we found ourselves going in the sea every day as it was a lot warmer and you could go out quite far and still only be up to your knees.

The hotel was very clean and the maids cleaned the room’s everyday, which I found a little too much as I have a 2 year old who didn't always like to get up in a morning.

The Food was buffet style and was always hot and they changed it regularly even if the trays weren’t empty. The restaurant was excellently set out and split into 4 sections with the food in the centre of all of them. At breakfast there was everything from full English to continental there was also a choice of fruit and cereals.

The only thing that I found wrong with the hotel was the evening entertainment, although the entertainment staff worked very hard from day through till night all the evening entertainment consisted of was the staff miming to different songs.

Other than that the Hotel was excellent the staff were friendly especially the reception staff I would definitely recommend this hotel and would probably look at going back sometime in the future.

The hotel was great, located right on the beach and was very clean. The maids came everyday and cleaned the rooms (even the childrens mess) and always greeted you with a smile, which was nice. The rest of the staff were also very friendly and helpful.
There was good selection of food each night and a seperate buffet for children with nuggets, burgers, chips and ice cream, good for fussy hubands.
The enterainment staff were brilliant and kept you busy day and night, with darts, water polo, beach volleyball and riffle shotting for adults and horse riding, skittles, hoopla and loads more fun games for children. The evening enterainment was great too, with the kids disco first then bingo and then a show.
We went with my mother who loves to complain, but even she couldn't find anything to complain about.

Although the hotel is a bit shabby it was kept very clean but it could do with a refurbishment. The walk to our room took forever, the corridors just go on and on but this was good excercise after our meals.

We had no complaints with the food there was always plenty of choice. The hotel is located on the beach which was good it was the only place to find a parasol, there were hardly any round the pool and as I had my mother with me she needed the shade. We reserved our beds on the beach which was brilliant. We paid for 5 days so you were always guaranteed a bed and parasol, this cost about 39 euros which I didn't think was too bad.

Entertainment was geared mainly for the kids, this was the only downside. If I visited this hotel again I would ask for a seaview so you don't get put at the back over the kitchens like we did.

Having visited this hotel 15 years ago when our children were very young we decided it would be the ideal hotel for a family holiday of 17 people.

The rooms were a little disappointing as they smelled very damp. But we could not fault the cleanliness.

The food was very good a great range which suited everybody.

The hotel location was excellent right next to the beach which we used most days. Not much shade around the pool area.

The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when it was our mum’s 79ths birthday when they organised a cake for us.

The only bad thing we have to say about the hotel is the entertainment which we found to be very unprofessional and childish.

We would probably go back to the hotel if we wanted a cheap last minute holiday.

Not really worth what we paid for it.

Lively and busy hotel. Staff friendly and helpful, and hotel generally very clean. Room maintenance very good, and towels changed every other day which we appreciated.

Location about one mile from centre, but bus service excellent and only costs 1 euro(60p) for any length of journey. Liked the idea of all stops being numbered. We were 19, centre 22, port 27, old town/market 30.

Entertainment looked great for kids but was very ordinary for adults in the evening. Lovely setting outside, but quality of show poor (inhouse entertainment most nights.........shame because they tried very hard indeed and can't be faulted for effort and enthusiasm).

Food was excellent all the time, good quality and plenty to choose. Busy at peak times but over 1000 at hotel so come to terms with it.

Biggest problem kids!! We've been there(mine grown up now) but can be a bit waring. Sometimes very noisy but, hey, you just get on with it.

I have been to this hotel for 4 years in a row and i would still go again. You cannot get bored (expect maybe a few evenings when the entertainment isnt that great), 11am-5pm there are activities for all ages.Entertainers work really hard, tis great to get know them and they wont forget you for the whole holiday to join in the activities, they even show you the great bars and take you out after the hotels entertainment.
Rooms are fine and air-conditioned to your choice. Balcony views are excellent definatley recommend pay extra for sea/pool view.
Food is ok not great every night but you will find somthing.
Dont know what else to say really except the holidays are great at this hotel and you are not far away from shops and bars. You will love it and wont want to come home!!

Having read some reviews posted on various web sites before we travelled we were slightly worried about our holiday to the Condessa de la Bahia, our worries were unfounded.

Yes the Hotel could do with a refurb especially the bathrooms, the rooms were small with little storage. Our room had magnificent views accross the bay to Alcudia, what a treat to get that view every morning.

If your room doesn't get the sun shining into it, it can feel a bit damp, but if you turn the air con on to full, it sucks all the moisture out, and you have a lovely cool room to go to when you have finished toasting yourself!

The food was ok, better some nights than others, but then again they did have alot of people to cater for over 3 nationalities - you can't please everybody all the time!

Entertainment was great for children and as stated on other messages the staff worked very hard. The domestics did their best bearing in mind the Hotel is next to the beach, and were great when my daughter was ill and was sick all over her bedding (too much information, I know!) The only problem we had was being locked out of our room on the last day, the hotel wasn't aware that we had paid for a late check out with Thompsons - Sybelle soon sorted that out.

The location is what sells this hotel, on the beach, away from the main road, and away from the local bars however the bars and shops are only a 5 minute walk away.

We didn't bother with the pool much, preferred the beach and swimming in the sea, much warmer water and ideal for children as the water is shallow.

The only noise you hear are the various coaches and your fellow holiday makers (concrete walls tiled floors - noise travells!).

We had an excellant time, reps were great, very helpful, some of the hotel staff could be a little brisque but on the whole very polite. This is a lively family hotel with lots of children running around, so it you aren't keen on children its not the hotel for you.

We took a 4 year old with us and the best bit of the 14 night holiday was the kids club which was excellent - all the reps in it were English so there was no language barrier.

The other major benefit of this hotel is its location right on the lovely beach. The water is shallow, crystal clear and perfect for small children.

Our first room smelled of damp and didn't get any sun at all. This brought on our son's asthma so we asked to be moved and were given a lovely sunny room overlooking the pool - noisier but much nicer! Rooms were basic but clean and the air-conditioning did work.

The evening meals were a real disappointment to us. If you aren't fussy and eat all types of meat then you'll probably be o.k. with what's on offer but a lot of it was very unappetising (except the desserts...). We found that it was far better to eat out at one of the many small cafes and bars in the immediate vicinity and they were very cheap too!

We also had some problems with the Dining Room "reception" staff who singled my husband out and made him feel like a naughty schoolboy because he didn't wear long trousers to dinner. Unfortunately, our travel brochure did not state that long trousers were needed so he hadn't packed any. Some staff were surly but most were friendly and the Thomson reps were excellent at sorting out any problems.

As everyone has said the entertainment was not very good for adults but we wanted a holiday to keep our son entertained not us so we didn't mind. We were quite pleased that the hotel wound down at midnight rather than keeping everyone awake until 3am.

Although the beach and the hotel position next to it is fantastic I don't think we'd go back again. At least not until we've tried a few other places...

Just returned from this hotel from a 12 night holiday. The hotel was very clean and well looked after, although the rooms were very small and also very basic (disapointed with this). Excellent location to the beach just foot steps away and your on a beautiful beach. The staff were very helpful and made us feel welcome which was really nice. The pool was nice but was very cold so recommend going in the sea instead whcih is a lot warmer. There was plenty of choice in food something for everyone. Location was ok if your looking for the main bars and restaurants its about 25min walk. Entertainment was good if you were under the age of 11, not much entertainment for adults especially during the evenings. I would definatley visit the hotel again because of its loocation on the beach which was superb.

Just returned from 14 days and generally had a very good time. The hotel was clean, the staff very polite and helpful and the location excellent next to the beach. The food was good but some people will always complain. It seems that some people find it difficult to understand that in Spain you do not get english milk! The restaurant staff were excellent. A good choice of food at both breakfast and dinner.

The childrens entertainment was excellent although for adults it was basic if acceptable. Spoilt perhaps by an irritating Bingo caller who wanted to humiliate winners and use the opportunity to display his dancing talents. He may think it funny, we didn't. You have to watch the bar staff who will short change you at any opportunity.

The Thompsons reps were excellent but Stuart should cut down on his childish play acting at the introductory presentation. Otherwise he and the others were excellent throughout.

The location is away from the main town which suited us although no doubt the drinkers found it a problem. What a shame two English drunks had to spoil one evening by fighting! Perhaps this just illustrated how lucky we were to be away from all the main bars and this remained just an isoltaed incident.

The hotel is next to the beach which was clean and managed well. Yes perhaps the rooms were basic but they were clean and who really wants to spend time in them on holiday! Some people moaned that they could only get Spanish TV! Well what do they expect in Mallorca!! and besides how many Spanish stations do you get in the UK? I don't get any!

We went abroad for the sun and Spanish culture, not BBC, English pubs, fish and chips and the Sun newspaper so if this is what you want don't bother, go to Butlins!

We returned last week from a really enjoyable 2 weeks staying at the Condesa de la Bahia. The hotel is clean, although could do with an update in places. The rooms are small, (we had 4 of us in a room smaller than our lounge at home)and basic, but clean. The maids do a really good job. The bathroom was large, and luckily we had a decent shower, because on speaking to other guests, we found out that alot of showers were faulty.

The location of the hotel was very good, with access to the beautiful beach down a few steps. Because the beach was literally "steps" away, this meant that the pool was never too crowded. There are a number of bars near the hotel, which we visited a few nights ('till the early hours of the morning!!) The best of these being Pinetrees, Smiths and Cheers.

The hotel entertainers do a fantastic job through the day, with games for the kids (our 5 yr old loved playing these) and the adults, however, the evening entertainment leaves alot to be desired!! Even the "professional" acts aren't up to much. We had a boy band on one night, and they were the best out of the whole week. Having said that, i can't really knock the entertainment team (consisting of Sergio, Michael, Jorie, Hannah, Annette and Maria) because they do work long hours, and make the effort to remember everyones names.

Now the food. I was quite impressed overall. There were some days when there wasn't alot that we liked, but other days when we liked everything. The food is presented beautifully, and the puddings are to die for!

We met some really nice people some of which are still at the hotel - lucky things, and are definately planning to return next year sometime. I would give this hotel 9.5/10

The Condessa De Bahia is an old style hotel which could do with a refurb soon although it cannot be faulted on cleanliness.

We travelled in a party of 10 ( 6 adults ,2 kids , and 2 infants)and found the rooms not bad but a little small.

The Retaurant is comfortable but the food was generally poor and choice limited.

The location is fine if you like the beach but approx 1km to the resort centre.

The Entertainment during the day is good for the family with your usual water polo , darts and games for the kids.

At night the entertainment is awful.
Out of 14 nights we got 3 "proffessional" shows , another 2 did not turn up and one was 2 hours late.
The inhouse team are hopeless at entrtaining an adult audience and should stick to pool games and playing with the kid

The Staff could not give a toss about the guests and indeed the bar staff repeatedly attempted to short change us and serve locally produced "fire water" instead of requested ( and paid for ) proper brands even after promises from the rep and Bar manager.

If your hoping to relax after 12pm , forget it as the entire outside area is shut down at 12 sharp and all lights put off leaving you outside and not allowed to sit inside the bar area.

I have just returned from the condesa, and i thought it was excellent! The best part was the fact that we were 2 steps away from the beach!!! Also the pool was fantastic (apart from in the morning when it was freezing!) The daytime entertainment were brilliant! Especially micheal (mickey), from the first day he made us feel welcome. I went with my boyfriends family and micheal showed us the best pubs n clubs to go to. The best pubs n clubs were skau, bells, mentha, goodfellas and smiths. Also a special mention to anette, joeri, hanna, and sergio who were also fantastic. The activities were also great during the day - archery, pistol shooting, rifle shooting, aqaua gym (in the morning), water polo, beach games and many other games.
The food was good, it would've been better if there was a larger selection. The breakfast consisted of spainish bacon (which is actually quite nice, it is a tiny bit sweet); sausages (german sausage everyother day) scrambled and fried eggs & cereal and much more.
The hotel staff are also very nice. However, you must make sure that you lock your door if you want a lie in because the maids knock quietly and enter quickly after.
I will definatley plan to go back to this hotel again!

When we pulled up at the Bahia (last stop on the coach) I was more than pleased as, the hotels that the coach had stopped at prior, were very dissapointing.

The weather was really bad 4 days sun in 2 weeks but that did not spoil it, anyway the hotel is set bang on the beach which was great. None of that walking, driving, busses etc after a long day of SB!

The resort itself was 4km away which was just right really as it was quite noisy and if you wanted peace it was situated just right!

The food was amazing Breakfast was just like Joe’s Cafe and if you wanted Continental or just cereal or fruit it catered. I think I had the same dish twice in the 2 weeks so plenty to choose from! As for the sweets (My FAV) Choc/Straw/Pies/Ice cream/Flans etc etc. it was all there I would go back just for that!

On a down side the entertainment was poor unless you like bingo stuff like that. I cannot really comment on the kids club as our kids found other things to do! The entertainment guys were always on their feet getting you to participate (bad if you are shy)! And there is football/shooting/table tennis/Tennis/darts I could go on and on! Oh forgot my fav beach volleyball as well to work off those deserts!

All in all a truly great time and place!

This was the second time the family stayed at the Condesa. We wanted to return to the hotel mainly because of its location to the beach, the kids club and the local bars and restaurants.

With respect to each of the above we weren’t let down, our balcony view was fantastic, we were directly above the poolside restaurant on the 3rd floor, and so had a great view of my son playing by the children’s pool and a great view of the beach.

We were unable to view the night time entertainment as a tree blocked our line of site to the tabled area (which wasn’t any loss as every night I thought we were part of the Eurovision song contest) the entertainment wasn’t what I had remembered back 5 years ago, there seemed to be more of a British bias then and that meant a better entertainment package. In 2004 the hotel entertainers (from Sweden) all had to address the nationalities in there own language which is why I likened the night to Eurovision. They were however very friendly and tried their best.

The room was as expected small and cramped but we new this before booking. The maid service was first class and even cleaned up after our 7 year old which wasn’t expected but made us very grateful. You’ll need to take many coat hangers with you as we had a total of 6 and as you’re expected to wear trousers to dinner your likely to need them.

The TV was a joke. In this day and age of 500 channels plus all we had were CNN and BBC News. No kids channel and no other entertainment channel although the majority of the guests were British (we are from Wales) the stations were all German and Spanish (why Spanish I don’t know) at least with the kids channels available if you wanted to go back to your room for a sleep the children could keep themselves occupied

If like us you have a plug in mosquito killer plus a radio you’ll find it hard to reach a power point so if possible get yourself I cheap extension lead from Ikea before you depart the UK. Bathroom was OK although the shower in the bath was old and broken.

Bar service was as you would expect from the Spanish, they seem to forget that tourism is their bread and butter so a friendly smile and polite service is what’s expected but rarely given (the language barrier isn’t the problem just look at the Greeks, Portuguese, Turkish very friendly people)

The worst part of our holiday was the restaurant. We encountered many a guest unhappy with the menu

Breakfast was the best for me although you only got a good breakfast every other day as the (you can only take hot dog sausage for so long) eggs were scrambled one day and horrible or fried the next and excellent, I spent most of the time with honey on toast.

And forget the cereals, when you pay thousands of pounds for a holiday you don’t expect to get the cheapest breakfast cereals on the planet (with warm milk) my son (who’s not a good eater anyway) wouldn’t eat anything other than marmite toast and we supplied the marmite.

Evening meal I have mixed emotions regarding the evening, ALL of the food was cooked very well, again its just the selection, if your like our family the last thing you want to happen is have a stomach bug while away so because of that thinking we were unable to sample most of the rice, fish, paella type meals available every night which left very little else, The cooked meats didn’t look that appetizing either and there is only so many under cooked chips you can force down. Again the children’s choice was VERY poor THOMSON should know children’s eating habits by now and should have addressed this issue as it was a problem 5 years ago as is today. Suffice to say we ate out most days, what I cannot understand is how small local bars and restaurants can serve great food at a great price but the MAR group of hotels finds this a real problem. And it wasn’t just the British eating out most nationalities were unhappy.

The kids club My son gave the club 5 out of ten, he isn’t one to want to site and draw in an air-conditioned room for two hours so maybe this wasn’t for him. He did enjoy the company of other children and found the Thomson reps really friendly. He did bring back pirate hats and loads of drawings so he must have had some fun, although the 3 video games machines in the hotel lobby area was a bigger pull and drain on our resources, and if you want to keep in touch via email you can make use of the computers in the lobby for a few euros

Over all the holiday was great, the reason it was great was because we new what to expect, we wanted a room overlooking the beach and pool and we got it, we wanted a good base so we could tour Majorca by car and we got it the beach was FANTASTIC as expected and my son and I spent many hours playing on the best beach around. The Thomson reps in the hotel were the best we have come across they put on the best welcome party we have seen and deserve more support from the hotel Mar group. The reps commented that the Spanish tourist board has really got to pick its socks up if it wants to keep us all going back year in year out, there are many holiday destinations offering better service than Majorca these days and at a cheaper price. Majorca hasn’t changed the way it does things for many years and even loyal visitors like us will not return until the island learns a few tricks from its competitors

It was our first family holiday and we realy enjoyed our stay at the hotel. My son was too young to join the kids club, but there was always enough to keep him ocupied. The room was small and basic, but was kept very clean. The food was fantastic and with the kids section, we never got fed up of eating the same things. With the beach only yards away and the sea shallow, my son would even go in the sea. We will definatly go back to the hotel again at some other time. Condesa de la Bahia, well we love it ,been twice and going again this year.

Always half board as getting ready for three meals a day is to much like hard work, same as going shopping for food, we(re on holiday. We find the food excellent , salads, meats puddings, well laid out, and tasty, dont forget your long trousers and be early. Breakfast is best though, lots of coffee and crispy bacon, hotel is kept clean by very hard working staff, not like England never seen a slacker yet.

Right on the beach, two steps and your in the sand, wonderful sea, warm, clear and no tide to speak of, no danger of being swept away. Sometimes you get big waves which I love but not to everyones taste.

Staff are usually friendly but sometimes overworked so their fuse can shorten, the entertainment is good for kids, try the Son Amar for a good night out.

JUST come back from 14 nights at this hotel....

2nd year running and 2nd year I thoroughly enjoyed myself..

agree with your commenst mate in general....evening entertainment is OK (and yeah the beatles group did stand out - even if they did only do "early" stuff!)

but the daytime entertainment is VERY GOOD, from pistol shooting, archery, waterpolo to t-shirt painting, skittles and killer pool..entertainment team work very hard and deserve a big pat on the back

if there was a down side..I'd say the hotel is in need of a general refurbishment, with the hotel lobby needing bringing into the 00's from the late 70's

but hey...go there and have a great holiday..we did!!

Spent 10 days at the Condesa De La Bahia a week ago and had a really nice time. Brief review :

Pools clean and spacious although maybe fill up when more kids arrive

Rooms nice and clean although slightly small

Food buffet good for both breakfast and dinner (we ate out on some nights due to vast amount of restaurants, etc)

Location for beach is excellent - step onto beach in seconds

Location for pubs and restaurants is okay although could be closer to bellevue area and port although the bellevue can be walker in 15-20 mins and the port in 30-35 mins. Buses and taxis cheap.

Hotel Entertainment is okay - Beatles band was really good

Overall a nice hotel worthy of its 3 stars as staff work really hard to make it a pleasant stay.

Anyone else stayed here ?

We went on a pricebreaker holiday and was quite pleased with what we got. We arrived at 2.00am in the morning and was quite pleased to get in to our beds (sofa bed though was not comfortable, horrendous mattress which was firm down one side and sunken at the other). We woke the next morning to glorious views of the pool and sea.

The food at breakfasts was lovely (scrambled eggs delicious) and the cooks/waiters were soon filling up the buffet trays, plenty to choose from. Evening meals were ok although some nights we ate from the kids buffet cos that looked alot better. Salad bar fantastic though.

Outside area around the pool and the beach is great....you can take your pick the pool or the sea (the sea is warmer though).

Evening entertainment for adults is rubbish unless you like just a quiet drink.........plenty of entertainment for the kids though!!

I enjoyed my stay at the Condessa but would have prefered it if it had been on a B&B basis which would be more ideal for adults, at least you'd have something to do at night.

Thompson reps.............hardly ever saw them, in fact I think the only time was when it was the meeting when they are touting for business. They left plenty of information about back home though on the noticeboard about what is happening back home i.e. sports news, lottery numbers. We went on the day trip to Puerto de Soller and on the train. Puerto de Soller was lovely and tranquil, the views from the coach up in the mountains is spectacular although a bit scary at times especially around the narrow bends.

Would definitely return but would rather it be on a B&B basis though!!!!

Welcome - We arrived at 2:00 AM to find a dark hotel. No-one helped us with our cases or welcomed us. We asked if there was anywhere to get any food or drink, but were only able to buy a bottle of water. This is not the sort of welcome I would expect from a good hotel. The rest of my family stayed at the Maritimo down the road and had a buffet when they arrived.

Rooms - The rooms are very basic – not what I would expect from a 3*+ hotel. We had to pay a supplement, as there was only the two of us in the room – even though the room is only big enough for 2. Just because they throw a sofa bed in the room (which blocked the door to the balcony) does not make it a family room. Also make sure you specify a sea view room – otherwise you’ll be dumped at the back of the hotel overlooking the street. We had to request an upgrade there – for yet another supplement of course.

Interior – The interior of the hotel is horrible and dated. A real Florescent hell. The décor is very dated. The bar is like a Train Station bar and not welcoming. The other problem was that the bar closes at 00:30 and prompt. We were sitting at the outside bar and were rudely told to leave dead on 00:30 – we hadn’t even finished our drinks!!

Exterior – The grounds of the hotel were kept nice, with some lovely palm and olive trees. Pool seemed a fair size, but never went in there. There also seemed to be enough sunbeds for everyone.

Location – The location is ideal – directly on the beach. The beach is ideal for kids, as you have to go out about 200m before the water gets deep. The centre of Playa Muro was also only 500m away – although there’s nothing worth doing there. All there are souvenir shops (all selling same rubbish), amusement arcades and English pubs. Alcudia is more like sunny Blackpool

Food – If you like salads you’ll be happy, as the salad buffet was always fresh and different salads to try each evening. Apart from that the food was NOT good. It depends on if you like buffets – I don’t. Some food lends itself to buffets, whilst other food just dry up under the heat lamps. Another thing that annoyed me was that you were unable to buy glasses of wine with evening meals – just bottles. Although they are cheap (from 4.90 euros!) – sometimes a whole bottle between 2 is too much.

Staff – On the whole the staff seemed friendly, but you get no personal service. At meal times, you feel like you are on a conveyor belt. The most helpful staff were on Reception and in the Mini Market.

Entertainment – If you have kids, they’ll love the entertainment. Lots to do in the day, nice play area and a kiddies disco in the evening. If you’re an adult, then it’s so so.

Summary – Whilst this was not a ‘Holiday from Hell’, I doubt if I would ever go back to the hotel. I would only rate the hotel as a 2 star (probably got 3 stars in 1970) and not worth the £450 we paid Thomsons. Hotel is good for kids though. Also doubt if I’d go back to Alcudia – too tacky for me.

We travelled with a party of 5 (4 adults 1 child) had
super time. The hotel staff were brilliant although the Thomson rep could not answer any questions if they did not revolve around Thomson. The food was good but rather warm which we put down to the air conditioning in the dining room (this we very much appreciated). The hotel is spotless could not have asked for a cleaner hotel. Would definately recommed this hotel to anybody travelling with children.
BEWARE anybody leaving towels on sunbeds early morning as the hotel staff will remove them, sunbeds first come first served which I thought was a excellant idea.

I'm female and from the uk

I LOVED it. i agree with most people, the hotel did look like it was in the 70's but the pool was great and i give 10/10 for the entertainment.
When i went there were elena, maria, sergio, jhonas and danny.
they all were FANTASTIC but mostly maria and elena. me and elena are great friends.

i loved the food *especially the mushrooms at breakfast*
the rooms were simple. but nice. i hardly spent any time in there anyway!
entertainment was brill too.
all through the day from 10.00am to 2.00pm entertainment was provided for adults AND children. maria and elena mostly took children and sergio and jhonas mostly took the adults.
the entertainment was back on at about 3.00 for 2 hours then there was a break. so people could go for dinner, aso kids could go to the kidsclub.

The entertainment then started again at about 7.00, that was the mini disco, and i can still remember the songs now!
then bingo, sergio was enormously funny when he said thirty as he saus 3 and 0 thirty o
then there was a show EVERYnight and on sundays there was casino night. even then there were mini casinos for the kids.
The entertainmet was off on thursays. i think most people went into palma or alcudia then.

Overall i give the hotel 9/10 not 10 becuase it needs updating.

WE ARE IN THE 21ST CENTURY YOU KNOW!
