| said: We stayed at the efendi for 2 weeks in august,we had 3 rooms on the second floor and were all pleased with the views. The rooms were small and very basic but they were cleaned everyday and clean towels provided,and the air conditioning was free which we were pleased with as the temperature reached 45 degrees.The breakfast consisted of cornflakes, hard boiled and scrambled eggs, saute potatoes,cheese,ham and,cucumber, tomato and water melon and it was the same for the 2 weeks.We paided 6 lira for the english breakfast which we enjoyed and i took my own cereal from home for my sons.we ate the hotel restaurant 5 evening throughout our holiday as the food was very nice and the day time snacks in the heaven s bar were good too. the food prices were reasonable but the drinks were expensive. All the staff were very friendly and our son s loved Sergen and Everon ,who always made time to have a laugh and joke. The hotel will do your laundry for you for 15 or 20 lira (2 carrier bags full). the hotel is in a fantastic location, 50 metres from beach and near lots of bars and restaurants.The only entertainment in the hotel is karaoke most nights which we enjoyed. The pool is small but it was never overcrowded and we always got talking to other people round the pool,everyone was friendly. We all had a great time at the efendi hotel.

| said: We just had a fantastic 2 weeks in this hotel.We had a room on the second floor over looking the pool and the sea,it was excellent.The hotel is very clean and the maids were in everyday.We were bed and breakfast which was a turkish breakfast but you could get an english breakfast at extra cost.It is located about 50 yards from beach but we tended to stay at pool which was very nice,it could be busy sometimes and quiet at other times.The staff in Maestros resteraunt and Heavens bar were really nice and were always smiling.Entertainment at night centred around Heavens bar which played music.The staff would get the guests up to dance.This was our third visit to this hotel and you tend to meet guests who had also stayed there before as well.We would go back to this hotel again without hesitation.

| said: Just got back from the Efendi,couldn't fault the hotel it was very clean all the staff were really helpful, we had no pressure on us at all to eat in the restaurant on an evening we ate in there about 4-5 times it was always busy and the food was excellant.The pool is quite small but as the beach is about 30 seconds walk away it didn't really matter.Shine and Mehmet on reception couldn't have been more helpful and all the staff in Heaven bar created a great atmosphere every night.Would deffinatly visit again

| said: We booked a cheapy week at Hotel Efendi and first impressions as to the location were very good. Our room was quite small but large enough for two, free air conditioning and two twin beds. We moved the beds together and found the previous occupants used underwear which wasnt very nice so cleanliness isnt top priority at Hotel Efendi. We had a small balcony which was pleasant, small but big enough for us two. Bathroom was ok too, bit grubby but livable.

| said: We have just returned from a seven day break in the Efendi. We were there on a bed and breakfast basis. The hotel is kept very clean, with rooms being cleaned daily and towels and bedding every two days.
The staff are all very helpful with boundless energy! We used the Maestro Restaurant which is attached to the hotel most nights as the food and service was of consistently good quality.
As a resident of the hotel you also qualify for a 15% discount, on what are already very reasonable prices. We did not experience any pressure to eat there by staff.
The pool area is very small, but is kept immaculate by the lovely lady who runs the pool bar. Nothing is too much trouble for her.
The Efendi has many returning customers each year, probably due to its very friendly atmosphere. We found it good value for what we paid and would certainly return.

| said: Stayed a week at the Efendi and for the price we paid was quiet a good deal.
The hotel staff are really nice and nothing seems to much trouble, the only down side is the pressure from the staff at the restaurant attached to the hotel, we did eat there the first night and the meal was really nice but when we are away we love to eat at a different place every night.
The same staff serve breakfast and also work the heaven bar at the night time, so if you eat in the restaurant the would gladly me a fuss and be very attentive towards you, but if you didnt eat with them in the evening they could be a little off with you. This didnt bother us as we as a family didnt need them fussing over us as we prefer a little chat and them to leave us alone, where as a lot of people really seem to thrive from the attention of the waiters.

| said: We ended up here as our room at Kontes Beach has been double booked, no complaints with hotel, very clean, staff were polite and very helpful especially Shane on reception, did'nt eat in restaurant only for breakfast, it was basic but adequate for breakfast.
No hassle to eat in hotel but we never went into the restaurant always went out the main entrance. Only used the pool one day, the rest we were on the beach, which is a stones throw away.
Personally I could'nt fault the hotel for what we used it for and I would go back without hesitation.

It would be hard to better the location of this hotel as it is literally on the beach, also a 2 minute walk along the front to the canal and all the little shops etc.
The hotel itself was clean if not a little dated in the main restaurant and bar area but rooms were quite nice.
Staff ok if a little phoney but hey eveyone has to make a living.
Pool very very small.
Bad points
Lots of pressure to eat in Maestro restaurant, it was good but nice to have a change without hassle, make sure you check your bill every time....do not pay the next day as this is a very clever way to add drinks you have not had!
Although the hotel was reasonably clean we on many occasions saw a rat......yes a rat...near the back of the restaurant...which has a screen near the pool area
which probably explains it as there was a manhole with the lid off most of the time! We saw it so often we named it Umit.
Finally do not allow the staff to help themselves to your cigarettes as they tried this with us and we made a complaint to the management....didn't get the service we should have had after this but it solved the problem.
Would we return? in a word .....no.

| said: Rooms cleaned every day, towels and bed linen every other day. Cleaner left rose petals on my bed on towels, what a lovely touch.
Shane on reception really nice guy, intelligent able to give lots of info when needed, very pleasant all of the time, nothing ever too much for him.
Pool area small but quiet, had lots of fun there, and lady on pool bar very lovely person, always willing to fetch drinks and extremely pleasant all of the time.
Ate in Maestro most evenings food brilliant and 15% discount for guests. Heaven bar excellent entertainment, can be a bit repetitive but we had amazing good nights as the people in our hotel always ended up back there. Waiters work so hard, so much energy. Would be going back late Aug/Sept but already fully booked up.
I travelled with my parents but they stayed for two weeks in another hotel. They wished they had stayed at Efendi too and will be definitely returning there next year. Brilliant holiday for me, top marks to resort, food and especially all of the wonderful staff - what a great team.

| said: The hotel and rooms were kept clean. Being a cleaner myself I had to check, and walking into the room and seeing petals on the bed it was amazing excellent cleaners. At the end of your stay the cleaners would leave a note for you. Also pool was clean everyday
Stayed at hotel for 7 nights and 5 of those nights we ate at the hotel, Fuod amazing what else can I say. The other 2 nights we went to other places to try the food and we did not enjoy the food and portions were excellent and we got free ice cream for kids and we also got offered tea coffee on house to.
The staff were, well what can I say apart from excellent. Amazing great people, friendly, helped at every turn, my kids played with them and got them to help them,got them up to dance they loved it. My kids cried when leaving as they had a ball. They are now saving their money up to go back in September. Seeing my kids so happy was the best, thans to them, and if you wanted to ask them for help or just a question they did it brillant people loved the place so much.
Loved it they would get kids up to dance and show them the dances to the songs, and they tried on a few times to get myself up but it did not work until the last night Sercan got me up to dance,
Going to book up again for September. Looking forward to going back.

| said: The hotel location was faultless.....best we have had, unfortunately the same could not be said for some, and we say only some, of the staff! Reception was very good as was the pool attendant, very clean pool if a little small! And the cleaning ladies were lovely...flowers etc on the bed.
We found the restaurant staff,.....manager in particular, very intimidating and put so much pressure on us to eat there that it became a nightmare trying to leave the hotel in the evening....so much so that we sneaked out of the side door! This was such a shame because we did enjoy our stay overall.
Evening entertainment was karaoke and 5 minutes of the same staff doing the same jig evernight..... Same time!
This could be a great little hotel but unless things change regarding the restaurant we sadly will not be returning.

| said: Maids worked hard and did a great job - cleaned room daily and fresh towels every other day.
Breakfast was the same every day - bread, eggs, melon but there were mornings you had to practically beg for a cup of coffee.
Apart from breakfast we didn't use the hotel restaurant because the staff were generally unfriendly and sarcastic.
That's why the restaurant was empty most of the time! Didn't bother with the hotel bar either for the same reason except for the odd drink after the beach.
Hotel receptionist were helpful and friendly but the restaurant/bar staff should take a walk uptown to see how it should be done.
They obviously had their favourite customers and if you weren't one of them - tough! Location was excellent but we wouldn't go back to the Efendi.

| said: Can only say good things about this hotel, the staff were fantastic, especially at the start of our second week when Laura took ill. the receptionist phoned a doctor, came up to see if everything was OK.
The restaurant staff were brilliant, really friendly and very concerned over Laura's health. The food was excellent, and the portions were generous!!. never had any problems with billing for the meals, despite what i had heard before going.
The pool & pool bar area was always very clean, as were the rooms, and always well attended to. We are going back to Icmeler this year but not to the efendi, only because we want all inc, but we will certainly be visiting the maestro for a meal or two.
As a base for your holiday, and for good food/service, this is one of the best.!!

We needed a fridge to keep insulin in and the management got us one no bother.

| said: I have been going with my hubby to the Effendi hotel since 1998 many times twice a year. We are booked to go again in June2007.
The staff are friendly and do anything for you. Yes the restaurant staff want you to eat there but you get a 15percent discount and they will make anything for you even if not on menu. My husband doesn't sleep well and they have served him a tray in his room. We phone and text the staff and go to the weddings. We are treated like royalty by Norrie, Ferrat, Sercan, Mehmet, Esma that cleans the rooms is like a second Mum to us. George on reception makes our day easy and although the entertainment at night is Karaoke and dancing if you join in you can have great fun.
The pool is cleaned daily at 6.30am and I witness this as I am out there reading my book in the cool of the morning. If the visitors would jump in the shower before jumping in the pool it would be better. I am hard to please but long live the Efendi Hotel.

| said: We arrived at Hotel Efendi mid June, first impressions were ok.
As for cleanliness towels/sheets are changed every other day, rooms cleaned around the edges, under the beds were filthy.
We never ate in the bar attached to the hotel Maestro/Heaven as it was always empty, staff were rude when we chose to eat next door.
Location of hotel is fabulous, about the only thing going for it. Its literally 30 seconds away from the beach (stunning) and a few minutes walk from the shops, overall a pretty perfect location.
Hotel pool area not very clean, pool guy throws chlorine in when you are still in the pool which could be dangerous and we only seen it being cleaned once or twice. Sunbeds taken by 6am some mornings but usually you could get a place.
Entertainment did not exist.
Overall totally unsuitable for a family, if youre over the age of 65 you should fit in, we would never ever stay here again purely on the cleanliness front.

| said: We booked a late deal, and were a bit wary as this was our first visit to Turkey. We were not dissappointed!
The hotel was perfect...both in location and service. It has been newly decorated and maid service was spot on!
The pool was extremely clean and very refreshing to cool down in after a few hours sun bathing! No problem with sun beds, we could have found one at any time of the day.
Might be a bit busier as the season went on, though.
The staff in the adjoining bar and restaurant (Heaven and Maestro) couldn't have been friendlier. We were on first name terms with them from day one!
The location was ideal...right next to beach and shops and restaurants right on your doorstep!

| said: The Efendi hotel is ideally situated a stones throw from the beach and with shops, markets etc. right on your doorstep.
The hotel staff are very friendly. Thanks to George and Fred on reception to Norrie in charge of the restaurant and to all the waiters who were very polite and friendly.
A special mention to Esma the cleaner. What a wonderful job she does daily and those little added touches (like flower petals on your bed ) are really lovely. Esma works really hard and is very nice.
That was our 2nd visit and we will certainly be going back.

The food was typical Turkish for breakfast,there was alternative on menu.
Location could not be better,highly recommend. 50 yards to beach,within walking distance of all nightlife,we had our parents with us, 2 x 70plus year olds ,who also loved Icmeler,beautiful resort.
Entertainmemt was everywhere ,never short of a laugh within all the bars,Turkish people have time for the English ,more than can be said for the Spanish people!!
The pool was small ,HOWEVER the sponge sunbeds&beds themselves were scrubbed daily,the pool was cleaned daily,we watched it happen!! Maestro and Heaven bar & restaurant attached to hotel were brilliant,could not fault them. Omet our favourite, was fantastic with the parents,actually with everone.
All the staff were,George too!!!

Rooms were bit outdated,air con brill,you definitely need this at that time of year. Maids did a great job,all staff were brilliant,could not fault them.
Ask for side sea view and you get pool view,think these are the best rooms. Great location, entertainment everywhere. Never had a bad meal anywhere.
Recommend this hotel for a late deal,full price,would question the rating.

| said: We stayed at the Efendi for 2 weeks from 29th July to 12th August 2005. The hotel is in need of renevation as it is old with dated furniture.
I was not too impressed with the room cleaning as they were not swept due to dust and debris under the beds but they wer not dirty. The free airconditioning is a godsend. The rooms are very, very basic and after staying at other hotels in Icmeler I would confirm it rating of 2* or maybe even 1*.
The staff at the pool, restaurant and bar were brilliant however I feel that the reception staff could be a little more helpful with bags, etc. The pool was dirty and not cleaned properly. I did not see any chemicals added to the pool, and only saw the pool tiles wiped once leading to the top tiles around the waterline being very dirty and as the pool is overlooked by trees leaves were contantly floating about.
My husband got an ear infection which was atributed to the water as did another girl while we were there and we were advised by the Direct Holidays rep that another girl had an ear infection the previous week.
All in all it was a good holiday but I would not go back to the Efendi again

| said: The hotel Efendi is a lovely hotel ideal for families with children.
The room was a bit small for a couole with an 11 year old child, but it turned out to be o k.The staff at the efendi made our holiday the best we have had for many years.
I would like to make a special mention to Freddy, Secan, Mehmet,Umit,Fatima, and Nuria, they make you so welcome you feel like part of the family.
My friend has taken my advice and has booked this hotel for his late break this year.
I will be going back next year.

| said: The breakfast was typically continental consisting of tea, coffee, orange & apple juices, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, fresh bread, melon etc etc.
The Efendi bedrooms were quite basic but efficient and immaculately clean and the air con was excellent.
The food at the hotel restaurant, The Maestro, was first class (it must have been as we ate here 12 nights out of 14)!!!!
The Maestro staff, Fatima, Nurai (not sure about the spelling) and a special mention for Umit, were brilliant, they reserved our table every night. We never had a bad meal and chose something different every night.
You couldn't have got a better location if you tried. The Efendi is right on the beach front and very central for everything (the canal and shops).
All the staff in the hotel and Maestro and Heaven Bar were fantastic and this is very much a family hotel. Children and adults are made to feel at home and very welcome. The lads in the Heaven bar do a great dance act and again special mentions go to Hummett and Freddy, great stuff every night.
I find it hard to believe that this hotel is only classed as 2 star as it has everything that you need and more.
My son and I had the best holiday ever and this was our first trip to Turkey and it's the first time that I really didn't want to come home!!!
We only came home yesterday and I am just about to try and book again for October. Most of the hotel guests return every year and I can understand why.
October here I come!!!!

| said: The Efendi is a lovely clean hotel although very basic.
Would have been nice to have a mini fridge in your room to keep drinks cool as temperature was 40+. Don't envy the maids cleaning the rooms in that heat but they did an excellent job.
The Maestro restaurant did excellent food with excellent service. Special mention to Asim (the daddy)! The food portions were very generous and very well priced.
The Efendi is conveniently located very close to the beach, has a 24 hour shop right opposite and
payphones right outside.
The hotel staff were lovely. George on reception was very helpful as was the little smiley guy that worked the night shift.
Maestro restaurant staff were very efficient.
Heaven staff were very friendly and entertaining. The guys did a few Turkish dances for us. Boy can the Turks dance.
Hotel had no entertainment as such. We had to make our own entertainment round the pool area.
Would stay here again.

| said: Just come back from our first holiday in Icmeler, staying at the Efendi.
We were impressed with everything about this hotel - I can't believe the info says its only 2 stars! The hotel itself is quite old and inside its in a kind of 'hacienda' style but the rooms are freshly painted and kept extremely clean. We've stayed in 'posh' hotels before in Marmaris and Cyprus but this place had everything we needed!
The restaurant below the hotel - Maestros - did the best food we had in the whole resort and we always ended our evening at Heaven - the bar next door to Maestros. The staff are extremely friendly and make you most welcome!
We would definitely recommend this hotel, and I'd love to go back!

| said: This was our 3rd time at Efendi and it just gets better.
The rooms are quite basic but very clean and air-conditioning is free, which is a bonus and you are very glad to have it.
The housekeeping staff are lovely and very friendly even although their English is limited.
The restaurant within the hotel is excellent and the prices are very reasonable.
Staff cannot do enough for you and we have always kept in touch with them throughout the year. A special mention must go to Mehmet from the Heaven Bar as he is such a great guy and is always smiling and keeping you entertained.
Overall, the staff are excellent and make you feel very welcome.
We have found that once you go there you don't want to go anywhere else and meet up with with couples who, like us, go back every year.

| said: We stayed at the Efendi Hotel in Icmeler in July of this 2004 and had a very relaxing holiday albeit the temperature was in the 40's. The hotel is excellent, as good as any 5 star hotel and the staff very very friendly. Position approx 50 metres from a beautiful beach and many shops and bars. All in all a perfect place to while away the days - and nights. We are returning on 1st October for another week as we enjoyed the hotel so much.

| said: This hotel is situated in a perfect position about 50 metres from the beach.It is a very clean establishment and the staff are very friendly.The room we had was just big enough for us as there was only two of us and the free air conditioning was great.The hotels restaraunt is excellent and the Heavens bar is very nice and relaxing to have a drink in.We tried to book again for August 2004 but it was fully booked so we stayed in other apartments in Icmeler.We booked the Efendi as soon as we came back this year for August 2005 so as we did not miss out.
