After a very dissapointing week on a Nile Cruise we were looking forward to relaxing at the Hotel, and we certainly did. The rooms were a little tired but we could see that the hotel is undergoing renovation and from what we could see it will be fabulous when completed. The grounds and the pools were amazing, the pool was large with small waterfall which supplied refreshing back ground noise when soaking up the sun. The pool staff could not do enough to help and were great. The main restaurant weas dissapointing, it was rather like a large canteen and the food, well, it wasn't great, we ate at the other two restaurants on the site, for which you get a discount and they were very good. You must try the Chinese reaturant, better than most I have tried at home. I echo the other reviews regarding the all inclusive package, restricting the end time to 10pm was dissapointing but we did discover that all local spirits were included in the package although it is not advertised as such. We would stay at the hotel again and I would reccomend this hotel

This hotel is clean and tidy.

Certainly not 5 star more a 3 the food is a disgrace same thing day after day and mostly unedible. We ended up eating out although we were all inclusive and even this finishes at 10 oclock so no late drinks.

Hotel location is ok as it really does not matter where you are in Luxor as most things are in easy reach either in taxi or caleesh be prepared to haggle hard.

Hotel staff were all okay but always on the lookout for baksheesh.

Entertainment was a waste of time find somewhere else.

This hotel was never 5* but was still clean and tidy, our bedroom was an older one that could do with being re-painted and new furniture but out bathroom was big, tidy, smart and modern. The other rooms looked a lot more up to date and modern.

The food at breakfast was a wide ranging however it was generally poor quality and the menu catered more for their German guests. Healthy options were minimal - They will however cook a fresh omlette in front of you to your taste.

Staff are all very friendly (for a price). Sometimes handy for you to keep change handy for tips (30p). Tours arranged through the hotel ask for £Sterling so take Sterling for that or you will pay more for them.

Only entertainment we saw was a Egyptian singer that was awful.

For the price we paid (£330 for a week in Sept) we felt we go good value for money. The Pool is fabulous and always had free sunbeds. They also have a pool table and table tennis and overlooks the Nile.

I am amazed to read the reviews on this hotel. We stayed here in March 2007; it was most definitely 5 star!

The food was excellent, a very wide choice at all meal times.

The rooms clean and excellent and the staff were fantastic; we got a free room upgrade on arrival from a city view to a Nile view.

Round the pool there was a man giving out clean luxurious towels.

The only complaint I had about this hotel was the all inclusive package, you could only drink beer and wine and it was only until 10pm at night.

This is the only reason I would not book again and this year we have chosen to stay in Hurghada, where you can drink anything on the all inclusive until 12.30 am.

It was my first visit to this hotel and my parents fourth visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful and always attentive. Everyday we were greeted at the pool and given sunbeds where we chose to be that particular day. The waiters at the bar were on hand to supply us with plenty drinks.

The pool and garden areas are gorgeous, the main pool very refreshing on a hot day and the heated pool available if the weather wasn't scorching.

We stayed bed and breakfast and found the selection of food to be good and the service excellent.

The room wasn't upto 5 star standard but clean and spacious, we had a huge sun terrace with sun loungers which was excellent in the late afternoon when we came up from the pool.

I would definitely visit this hotel again and visit Luxor again as i have fallen in love with the place and the people.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Service was bad food was bad all inclusive was a joke. Only allowed wine or beer and usual soft drinks. Whatever you do don’t order a double brandy or Bacardi etc etc or you end up paying 66le. This hotel does not do local spirits.

On the day of our arrival people who were waiting for transfers back to the airport were telling us not to stay there but we took no notice and how sorry am I. This hotel is used as a stopping off point for other tourists on their way to Hurgada. They all troop in coach after coach eat their fill and go again. One day the restaurant ran out of food, we had to have a pizza. We had to hunt around for cutlery all the time.

I thought I would come home with writer’s cramp. You have to sign for everything. And if you happen to get a drink with your meal you have to sign twice once for the meal and then again for your drink. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Well just got back 24th May 2006

The Hotel is ok, but I must agree with previous people, it is not 5* at all, only 3* overall

We had a good look around and the rooms that had been refurbished were 4*, but our room was only 2*+, the bathroom was clean and tidy, but the carpet in the bedroom was dirty, and the room wanted a good paint.

The reception area was ok and clean

The food was also ok, but not good

The staff were only interested in you 2 days before departure, due to tips.

Well entertainment was the same singer every night and the same songs in the same order.

I will say 1 thing that is very good, is the Gardens and pool areas, this is 4*

If you want a good Hotel in Luxor visit Sonester st George, Meridien or the Sheraton after the work has been completed. All quality Hotels in the same area.

We have recently returned from a weeks all inclusive at the Pyramisa. After reading different reviews about the hotel, we decided to make our own decision about it.
But we weren't very happy at all.

The staff on reception, we felt were very rude and abrupt. We felt that a smile wouldn't have gone a miss.

The main pool was lovely, but really cold. We also had to get up the first few mornings at 7am to get a sun bed, or you wouldn't get anywhere near it. We later found a pool near the bottom of the resort and got friendly with one of the staff who gave out towels. By paying him £2 a day, he secured a sun bed for us! (We have never encountered this before and I have been on loads of holidays).

The hotel grounds itself are kept very nice, but the rooms are very basic.

On arrival our fridge in our room contained 2 bottles of lager and 2 water. The next day it contained nothing. We rang reception and they informed us we could pick bottled water up near the pool every day of our stay, but that was it.

In Mexico last year, we also stayed in an all inclusive hotel, where the fridge was topped up every day with lager, water, coke, fanta etc.

The entertainment was very basic and was held around the pool. So the same problems arose, when trying to find seating to watch it!

The lobby bars entertainment, was terrible and had to leave before it burst our ear drums.

The worst thing we found was even though there was staff behind the bars, they did everything they could not to serve you. So the all inclusive option wasn't very good, because unless you got about 4 drinks per person every time you went up, you were sober again, before you got your next one.

The food halls were always very busy and you sometimes had to queue outside for a very long time, before going in.
The highlight of the holiday was snorkeling, don't miss it!!!!!

I rate this hotel only a 3 star.

Please beware if you are not intending to go on any day trips to Cairo, Luxor etc, you don't have to pay for a visa when arriving into the Country. They tried to sell us one for £12 each, but were going there for a relaxing week, we were talking to another English couple that informed us that they charged another family £15 each, including toddler and baby and they weren't going out of Sharm El Sheik!!! They will try to get as much money out of you as they can.

Good luck!

The hotel was lovely.

We were welcomed at the reception as soon as we arrived with no problems.

The room was fantastic. We had a junior suite which was huge. Our room overlooked the Nile and we could see Queen Hapshesuts Mourtury temple from the window.

There were 2 swimming pools one unheated which was refreshing in the heat of the day. The other was heated and was lovely to swim in. The gardens were attractive and well tended.

Breakfast was varied and attractively laid out. Plenty of choices for most peoples tastes. The evening meals were lovely. There was Fish, Chicken, Beef and Mince served in a different way each night. There were 2 soups and a lovely salad bar too. The sweet table was very attractive. The hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. The executive Chef oversaw food service and removed any food he didn't feel was up to scratch. The restaurant manager kept a close watch on the dinners too.

We were not hassled by any of the staff and found them to be attentive with out been overbearing.

I'd go back again anytime as would my husband and 9 year old son.

We booked this hotel through Sunstar Leisure. What a big mistake. Sunstar had led us to believe that we would be staying in a luxury hotel. How wrong they were. My advise would be, do not book a holiday with Sunstar Leisure, they are the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with.

Do not go to this hotel. The food was vile, entertainment was rubbish. All inclusive was a joke. We had the option of horrible lager or horrible wine. Some of which had been watered down.

If you get a city view room you are looking over a busy, noisy high streat.

Just don't go there.

Second visit to this hotel because it's not as bad as some.

However my only complaint was with the air conditioning in the room. It was to be fair, an exceptionally hot week but the air con was useless and it made the room uncomfortable. Three times I reported it and got three different reasons as to why it did not work. Gave up in the end after contacting the Airtours rep who was really on the ball and phoned the manager. We never got the air con fixed but did get a large bowl of fresh fruit!!.
Other than this the hotel was good.

Everywhere was very clean, our room was kept very tidy and clean sheets/towels provided.

The food was very good, great selection at breakfast.

Pool and gardens are lovely, it was warm enough to swim which after climbing about over temples and VOKs was heaven. Will certainly visit again

We are a family with three children and we found the Hotel facilities to be excellent.

The children had a great time in the swimming pools, and the restaurant and bar staff were extremely friendly and helpful. In the evening the two singers provided great music in the bar, and involved the children by showing them how to play the instruments etc.

We had a thoroughly lovely time both during the day and in the evening. We shall certainly visit again.

Wish I had read the reviews before going. Hotel was old tired and shabby. This is not a 5 star hotel.

Food was terrible. The Italian and Chinese resturant you have to pay extra to eat in, despite us being half board. Glad we did not go all inclusive.

Entertainment was dreadful, I would recommend any other hotel in luxor over this one.

My favorites were le Meridain, Sheraton, Sonesta hotel, Winter Palace.

The hotel really isnt a five star, but then again, we cant judge by our own countrys standards. The hotel was clean, and the first room we stayed in was a family room with a "view of the city" The view of the city was really a view into a noisy street. We paid extra, for a Nile view, and the room was lovely, of a much better standard. Bathrooms were nice and spacious and clean, and clean bedding every day. I think it is worth paying extra at this hotel, as the cheapest rooms are a bit tatty, but with nice bathrooms

This hotel is diabolical and I would not advise anyone to stay there. For the amount of money you have to pay you would be better off going to the Le Meidien or the Sonesta just down the road.

If you are looking for 5 star acomodation, good food and a clean modern room.......do not go to this hotel.

We stayed there om half board basis....ate out every night.

We were shown 2 rooms, it wasn't until we wheeled our suitcases down stairs into the foyer and half way out the door that we were given a suite, very nice very modern and something you would generally expect from a 4 star hotel.

The staff, ok not too bad just the normal polite Egyptian type...very very polite when it's your last day!

I would tell any one not to book this hotel until the re modernise it totally and clean around the pool are, and sack the chef. The food was bland, cold and boring.

Go down the road to the Sonnesta St George a REAL 5 star hotel..then you will see the difference.
