| said: Steer clear if you have small children or have visited other hotels in Sharm.
Family room the same size as the bathroom at other hotels we have stayed in. No bath so difficuly when you have small children. Patio tiny, enough room for one chair and table but views spectacular.
Lot of aircraft noise as 10mins from airport.
Geared mainly for the high number of Russian there.
Only 2 restaurants; one buffet, one seafood. Buffet breakfast excellent (omelettes and pancakes made in front of you) but had one good (not great) meal out of 7 while we were there. Geared mainly for their Russian guests. My kids are adventurous eaters and they stuck to the pasta the whole trip. Eat at Naama Bay or the sister Rotana hotel next door. Good 'all you can eat' BBQ at the sea food one at lunch time but only 4 main course choices on the main menu.
Pools freezing - sea warmer - snorkling superb.
Entertainment geared for the Russians with a small effort to translate into English for others. Nothing for the kids eventhough we were told the kids club was all year round and there were about 15 kids under 15 from various countries. Great playground though.
Rececption staff rude and unhelpful. Other staff very friendly and helpful. Very keen for good reviews on the comment cards as they are sacked on the spot if they get 1 bad review!
Spa excellent and very cheap - had reflexology, massage and body scrub - £42!
If you are only interested in a cheap holiday and not at all bothered about the food then this the place for you.

3 lovely pools, never busy even though the hotel was nearly full.
Fab snorkelling.
The staff are truly wonderful and couldn't do enough for us.
Would definitely go again.

| said: The hotel didn't match its 4+ star rating.
The staff were exceptionally good, the bedrooms & hotel grounds were fine.
The hotel reception did not have any Egyptian money to exchange, anytime we asked. We left with our group being owed 3 Egyptian pounds. (60p! not a problem but an astounding way to run an international hotel)
It is the only hotel I have ever stayed in that had the same food menu in all its cafes. Because of the poor food, mainly never hot enough and unvaried, we eat a lot in Na-ama Bay & Old Sharm (excellent variety & huge choice). You either took the free bus or paid for a taxi.
The free bus was only twice a day & the evening run (4 until 8) could only be booked after five the previous day. Do not be caught in the mad scramble to get seats. Our Russian friends seem to think its the last tram out of Moscow. There are two buses and its well organised. Sami will sort out a taxi for you, reliable and in good order but a little more expensive than organising it yourself.
Beware of the distance to the (very small & rough) beach if you are unsure underfoot. Its a long way & very steep, many steps or long pathways. (You could get fit here!) Snorkeling is restricted to off the pontoon, an 18 foot drop. Non swimmer may find this daunting. Off beach snorkeling is frowned upon because of the very sharp coral (and very few fish!)
It is true that at least one pool should be heated. They are all amazingly cold! But the sea is fine, only the wind will give you a problem occasionally.

| said: We stayed for 3 weeks and found the staff wonderful, from maids to management, Bob was great in Brauhaus bar, our 2yr old loved him. If anything they were to attentive at times.
Clean towels and linen every day. Rooms have NO BATH only showers. No tea facilities but could hire one which included tea coffee milk sugar and water for 12$ a week,or take your own.
Hair dryer in room. Hotel food was good but not catered much for plain eating people(we are not)but after 3 weeks we were craving plain boiled potatoes.
Only complaint about the food was it never seemed very hot. If you like kellogs cereal take your own (wish we had ).
The hotel is in 4 layers from reception to the beach. 3 layers having thier own pool. Only problem being they were not heated so us or our 2 yr old could not use them this seemed to be a common complaint with the guests.
We had to use the pool in the grande next door cos that was heated. Evening entertainment was almost non existent animation team enjoyed dancing with the guests in the bar thats about it, but they did a programme in the day if you wanted it.
Don't worry about taking to much Egyptian money any thing you have at the hotel is signed to your room and can be paid with credit card, sterling, dollars, euros, at any time during your holiday a print out of everything you have had is provided and very accurate.
The onsite diving school is fab hubby did padi course and was impressed as were other guests that did it. We would come here again if one of the pools became heated.

| said: The hotel is set in a quiet area, very safe for a single traveller.
The hotel is set in 4 terraces leading down to the beach. There are many steps which may be a problem but there are also walkways but as it is on a hill it could be a problem for any one with a mobility issue.
The rooms are spacious and very clean. The staff are wonderful in all areas. Bed linen and towels changed every day. Good quality towels also provided for the beach each day. The food was ok plenty of salads and usually a choice of 3 hot dishes and loads of choice for desserts.Very clean restaurant. The animation team could be improved.
The setting of the hotel was great with it's own jetty with snorkelling and the most wonderful sunrise view every morning.
I would not hesitate to go back in fact I didn't want to leave after 17 days.

| said: Well, I got back from this hotel 4 days ago and I can honestly say the holiday was great. I'm 17 and travelled with my mom, dad and little sister who is 2 years old and we had a lovely time.
The people who work there are so friendly and helpful although some can be a little too overpowering.
It’s a great place for a relaxing holiday, with 3 lovely pools. The splash pool near the beach can get a little hectic and noisy at times with lots of Italians gathering around it. The middle pool is very nice but the top pool with the bar in the pool is good! You can sit on the jetty/pontoon for hours with the nice breeze and looking down into the sea at all the beautiful fish. It is just amazing.
The accommodation is very good indeed, the rooms are very spacious and are spotless. Cleaned every day with fresh linen and towels. They are only two storeys high and most have fantastic views. All rooms have hairdryers so save space in your case (or take more clothes or shoes!!!) and don't take one! There are even televisions in all rooms which has a good movie channel on channel 16!
Also there is no need to take beach towels as they are all provided. When you arrive, you are issued with vouchers that you can exchange for a clean beach towel every day at each one of the three pools. All pool attendants are very friendly and always happy to help.
The only let down of this hotel is the food. It was not very nice at all. Put it this way, it is rated as a 4 star plus hotel but I would say that the food is 2 star. Food wise, it’s like Spain 10 years ago. As there are many international guests (85% being Italian then a variety of Russians, Swiss, Dutch, French, American and Brits but surprisingly no Germans) the food was generally aimed at other nationalities. There are no chips at all and hardly anything for children to choose from. We were glad to get on the plane to have a better meal!
Although we were half board, because the food was poor in the main buffet restaurant, we decided to eat out once in Namma Bay, well at Pizza Hut! It was so cheap. It came to £12 for a meal for all 4 of us includes salad, bread and drinks! It was fab!
If you are travelling to this hotel I would thoroughly recommend that you stay Bed and Breakfast as the Breakfasts were nice, although no bacon, as you can eat at the cafe in the hotel which has lovely food or get taxi (£3) or shuttle bus (free) into town when you can get an excellent meal for virtually next to nothing.
The entertainment is provided by the animation team. They consist of 4 guys and 4 girls (& their boss Luca), who are all either Russian, Italian and one member is from the Ukraine. Most of them speak English, but some can only speak a little, although they all have a smile and can greet you with 'Chow!' Some of the entertainment is hilarious and you have to join in with the Coral Beach Tiran dance! You will enjoy it so much! We did!
Anyway, the hotel was wonderful, you will have a fantastic time here and it is highly recommended.

If you like orange squash as your fresh orange juice at breakfast then this is the place for you!! The food is atrocious. We had to change rooms 3 times. The bathrooms are gross. The toilet needs a gallon of bleach down it.
The toiletries had finger marks all over them & looked as if they had been re filled. If you wanted a sun bed you were offered the same one's (for a fee of course) everyday. Need I say more - so many had done this there were only rotten ones left. I would not stay here again. Although I would happily live in Sharm el Sheikh

| said: The staff are outstanding and really make an effort to make you welcome.
There appears to be an attempt by management to upgrade many of the facilities and the general condition and appearance of the hotel, possibly because a 5 star hotel is about to open next door! Even though it is part of the same group. So full marks for making the effort.
The food in the Mermaid Restaurant is generally what you would expect in this type of hotel but we preferred to eat in The Sharks restaurant.
Avoid the splash pool and bar unless you want wall to wall music and fairly repetitive activities from the animation team.
The pool at the top end of the hotel is very quiet and more relaxing.

| said: We stayed at the Coral Beach Tiran end of Feb 2005.
The staff are excellent and so very friendly. I would recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.
We went on a B&B basis, and got a taxi most nights into Naama Bay food was great, beer about GBP2.00 cocktails GBP4.00 Taxi into Nama Bay from the Hotel was around GBP3.00 each way, and we got our taxi driver to pick us up at a certain time each night.
You must do the quad biking in the Sini, such good fun.
Location to Naama bay was about 5-7 mins from hotel.
We didn't really spend much time in the hotel of an evening, but they had a few shows on, one thing I must say is that there are loads of Russians and Italians, but this really didn't make any difference to us.
Would go back tomorrow we could we enjoyed this hotel and Egypt so very much.

| said: I took my family to Sharm to complete our PADI open water course at the Camel Dive Club. The hotel was incidental but obviously we wanted somewhere reasonably close and we wanted to be on a half board basis.
The hotel is low rise and quite large so if you are down by the beach its a bit of a walk to the dining roon and reception area, The rooms were spacious and well equipped - it was nice to have air conditioning that was quiet.
The pools are freezing so I recommend the sea for a swim. The food is very good and varied as there are quite a number of different nationalities staying. What we saw of the entertainment was fairly typical of package holidays and not really for us but I think others seemed to enjoy it.
The taxi ride to Naama Bay is about 10-15 minutes and costs about £3-4 so quite inexpensive.
The Hotel is out on its own but it was nice for us to chill out there after a hectic week of diving and partying in Naama. We had a really good time and am in the process of booking up again.

| said: Stayed half board, food was good but could be a bit of a scrum in the evening particularly if you went to dinner soon as it opened. Did eat in town a few times, good food and cheap.
Hotel was very clean, certainly were not aware of any problems.
Location, for us, was good - far enough out that we weren't bothered by crowds etc in Naam but close enough that a 15 minute taxi ride got us into town.
Staff couldn't do enough for us; friendly, polite - not always the fastest but that'e the way of life (or maybe Ramadan had something to do with it).
Stayed away from the poolside entertainment during the day - there are three pools so it's easy to find somewhere quiet.
As for going there again - already booked for Nov 05!

Toilet didn’t flush until I fixed it, shower was grubby and blocked up. Door frames were rotting.
The food was ok but at times some choices ran out so you had to make do with pasta or salad.
The location is a hair raising taxi ride from naama bay so apart from the hotel bars and a couple of hotel shops it’s a trail if you want any provisions.
