This hotel isnt so good to be honest.

I have been here before back in 2006 and its was a good hotel then, but over the last few years it has got worse with youngsters making noise and the sad people queing up at 6.30am for sunbeds.

Arrived here given keys to two rooms in block ten. No waitng around seen to right away.

Reception staff was ok. Room was basic but very clean. Towles changed twice in the week we was there.

Its true up to a point bout the sun beds but we didnt notice anyone waiting at 6.30 like some posts suggest. It was more like 8.30. I watched the pool being cleaned EVERY MORNING.

Hotel bar was brill son won 94euros in fiesta food and drink vouchers.

A few arguments broke out in the room across from us the GROWN woman with a fmaily waas runnig up and down the corridor screaming 3 nights on a trot but they checked out soon after we arrived.

A few of the 18-30 at the jungla at the back of the tropico cut through the hotel ground and chucked a chair in the pool but that was swiftly removed by staff.

We got a lovely pool view in block 10 was right above the red lion but no noise from there at all. Can't really fault this hol and would love to go back.

Ok well were do I begin? We arrived at the hotel seemed ok on first impressions! But not for long the pool was taken up straight away by the sunbeds first thing you had no chance people would lay towls on them and go out! reception told us to just take the towls off I suggested that if there was a fee applied this would not happen they said they can't do that but they sure would charge you for a T.V huh! The pool also had stumped out cigarets at the side ready to float in ehhhhh! Also the pull out bed when inspected there was brocken glass under it (so were is this cleaner) did she slip by in the night did she exsist? We had too take a bundle of dirty towls to reception because we had run out! since when do you have to beg for clean towls on holiday? Also we found that there was alot of 18 to 30 in the hotel we had a pool facing and it was noisy every night I had to call through to reception on a number of occastions I might as well of called for Noddy if the truth be known! Also the toilet in the bathroom is situated right behind the door so you had to worn the family that you were there or your toes are gone also for some reason our toilet was wobbley this could be because it's behind the door. I myself am in a wheelchair so take extra care in the bathroom if your not disabed you should be on leaving the hotel! Having said that it seem adapted enough around the Hotel! I hope I have been some sort of help for the next holdiday makers I think I will go else were next time and not watch there exciting video! The truth is the truth and that's what I have said! (freedom of speech I think it's called)

The apartment was fairly small but then again you are only there to sleep and wash! My only complaint would be that the maid, when she did visit, didn't really do a lot! To get a sunbed you have to get up early and bag a stack of beds and then the man unlocks them at approx 9.00am. (I saw people waiting by beds at 6.30am)We took the advice of others who had been here before and ate at Tom Browns. The food was lovely and the staff were very friendly. We had a pool view so luckily did not have much noise (only 2 teenagers in our block who used to come home singing Wham songs every night!) We cannot comment on the evening entertainment as we went out every night,(Benny Hills was quite good but parents beware there is an arcade there) however, the bar was always packed when we arrived home. Had a nice break. Close to beach. Kids loved it.

Although the accommodation was basic, it was adequate.

Food in The Red Lion and surrounding bars were cheap enough not to have to cook in the apartment. Yeah, Tom Browns was a lovely place to each, did prefer the one by McDonalds as opposed to the Beach one though. There is plenty of choice though so do try others out.

All hotel staff were friendly and helpful and nothing appeared to be too much trouble for them to do for you. As for the Thomson Reps they were fantastic, the meet and greet ones, the kidzone ones and especially the entertainment ones were brilliant. Don't know how they did it every night.

As on previous reports the only drawback is the loungers, if you weren't there for 8 o'clock in the morning then you didn't get them.

Also if you have younger children or travelling alone request a pool view, out the back is the Fiesta Jungle which is for the 18-30's groups and only separated by the football cage and a public path. Did not feel safe enough to sit out on balcony with kids (language not too appropriate).

Not knocking the young ones they need to be able to enjoy as well, just a precautionary note....

Arrived at 11pm we were given a room in block 1 which had not been cleaned so straight back to reception. Receptionist was apologetic then given a room in block 2 directly over the bar, it was a bit noisy up until midnight then quietened down. Noise throughout the night from teenagers kept our friends who were in block 3 awake most nights. Luckily our family are heavy sleepers so we didn't hear it.

People who had been there before said it had gone downhill over the last year.

Reps were good.

The rooms were small and basic the bathroom stunk of urine.

Location was good five mins walk to beach and shops

We arrived on the 5/5/07 for a 2 week stay we had a fantastic time our boys loved it.

The pools was cleaned every morning, no rubbish around cleaners every where, bed linen changed twice weekly towels every 2 days, that was of our own back because when the maids was cleaning a different room we would go get them off there trolly, lol. Rooms are very basic but clean tidy.

Tom Browns is a must the food and staff was fantastic the location is great, the beach is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and it is great.

Our boys didn't want to come home the weather for the whole 2 weeks was boiling, kids spent most the time in the pool.

Do look for there local supermarket its called the bip much cheaper than the spar which is across the road from the hotel.

Kids entertainment is brilliant but do book the kids in for the night time as they won't accept them at night if not pre-booked.

An over all holiday rating for this hotel is 10/10. Fantastic!!!!!!!!

We stayed at Fiesta Tropico for one week.

I cannot think of one bad thing to say. The kids clubs are great, the staff were all fluent in English (some of them are english also) and the reps were fantastic.

It is ideally placed for exploring and the local eateries (Tom Browns being the best) are all local.

We have booked to go again and will return everytime we go back to Majorca from now on.

Brilliant hotel.

After reading previous postings about Fiesta Tropico before leaving I was a bit concerned about what I was going to.

From day of arival to date leaving no complaints what so ever regarding rooms, cleanliness or Thomson or hotel staff.

Yes it was true about getting there early for sun beds but many new friends were met waiting for beds to be unchained.

Noise at night on a few occasions but nothing louder than can be heard in most housing schemes at the weekend.

Four years of holidaying at the Fiest Tropico and I am now planning another for 2009.

We have gone on holiday with a variety of people to this hotel including a six year old, a sixteen year old and a twenty two year old.

Everyone of them found this holiday the best time of their lives.

The hotel itself is very good, the entertainment for kids is fantastic and we quickly befriended the reps such as chris and roly (who have now left). These people not only entertained our kids but then came out for a night with the adults to the clubs and showed us all the best places to drink.

The cleanliness overall was brilliant apart from one attack of the ants in 2005 which was dealt with straight away.

The noise is a slight problem, but when going to Magaluf what can you really expect? It's a cheaper Ibiza.

I was going out at 9:30 everyday and aqquiring a sunbed, in the buisiest time for the hotel, its not hard.

We went self catering, as the first year we went we took the half board option and found food at the sahara was generally very garlicy and many of our party did not eat garlic.

Overall we love the place, and although now moving to the Sahara this year due to the age of the party, I would definately go back if given the chance.

This is the third time we stayed at the Fiesta Tropico Hotel. Every time we have been we have enjoyed ourselves.

Found the rooms to be clean, towels changed three times a week, bed only once!Read other peoples' comments about the mess they had found, but can say that saw maids cleaning corridors regularly.

Hotel staff are English Speaking and very Helpful.
My son attended the children's club and enjoyed it so much!!!

Staff in the club were really amazing, put alot of effort into their work, knew all children by name!!!

Some entertainment was cheesy, but you are on holiday.

So you might be wondering what the down side to this hotel is; in my view the sunbed situation and the teenagers that hang around the pool in the evening. Sunbeds first: On previous visits people would have their towels on at 7:30am, how ever this year was not so bad, could get up at 8:00am and get a bed easily.

Teenagers:Some evenings there was noise from teenagers hanging around the pool, often the security went and asked them to be quiet, which lasted all of 5 minutes. However the noise wasn't too bad and we could sleep.

P.S. There was a huge attack of mossies, but that can not be helped by anyone.

Been to some other places this year and each time my son ask to go back to the Tropico, so thats where we will be going next year.

Actually booked a Superfamily TTTT Resort in either Puerto Pollensa, Cala Bona or Sa Coma but was double-booked, stitched-up and sent here! Oh my God!!

Please do not come here if you have a family. We refused to stay and was moved after a day and a half. The longest day and a half of my life, although listening to the fighting and sounds of bottles being smashed outside gave us something to do as no TV in room.

Noisy, dirty and surrounded by lager-louts. If you're a gang of lads or girls under the age of 21yrs then this place is a must.

Booked last minute holiday on allocation on arrival and were disappointed to be informed that we would be heading for the Tropico in Magaluf.

Arrived at hotel first impressions were good. Reception staff were British and very helpful.

Rooms basic but ok.

Didn't eat in hotel or watch any entertainment as too much to do else where in resort.

It is ideally situated and close to the beach. If you like a bit of a lie in you've no chance of getting a sunbed around the pool as people even put towels on beds even when beds chained up. Pleased we didn't pay the full rate for holiday as it certainly wouldn't have been worth it.

Overall wasn't to bad but won't be returning.

Hotel Tropico the room was very dirty, ants everywhere.

Took advise got pool view, but still very noisy till six or seven in morning. Mainly from 10 to 15 year olds able to do as they like.

Location was close to all 18 to 30 holiday hotels but they weren’t the problem no more then any where else.

Hotel staff try to help but can only do so much, Thomson staff rubbish no help, entertainment don’t go there!

Would we go again (you ask) I'd rather put 2000 pound in bin I would feel better , p.s. lots of mossy bites be warned, better still don’t go you worked hard for that holiday

Fiesta Tropico Magaluf.

The room could have been a lot cleaner, the corridors always had things lying about that people had left at their doors. Could just have easily put them in the bin.

We were in block number one so faced onto the main road. I hardly slept a wink with yobs shouting, swearing all night long.
The brochure describes it as a lively family resort(I dont think so).

The bar staff and reception staff were helpful. The thomson reps not so.

The entertainment was a bit cheesy, my children did enjoy most of it.

The pool was fabulous, very clean. The English cannot complain about the Germans because they took the biscuit with the sunbeds.

A few people I spoke to had paid between £800 - £1000 for a family of four.

We paid £1800 so not value for money either.

Booked holiday before reading reviews on this site and obviously had reservations once I read them..

followed the practical advice to e-mail ahead and book a room with pool view which was granted so cant comment on the scenes from those unfortunate to be looking across at the Jungla...looking directly across the pool at the late night Polynesia bar which stopped the music at midnight which was reasonably early(though too early for my two teenage sons)..

fans in the main rooms which are quiet and reduce the oppressive heat that could arise without them..

occasional noises in the corridoors and pool area from late night revellers returning but nothing too rowdy...its described as a family hotel and by and large families with younger children are the main clientele...in fact it was too quiet for the teenage element in our family...

no signs of ants in the apartments which were of a satisfactory standard...fresh towels every 2 days although bed linen only changed once a week..

have also experienced far worse sun bed scrums elsewhere...8.30 am was late enough to guarantee a bed which were unlocked at 9.00 am...beds werent the most comfortable though as couldnt be adjusted to any other heights or position...

does get a bit crowded on the sun terraces as the day progresses but the size and number of pools means this is not reflected if you fancy a quick dip where there was always space to mess around with a ball..

location excellent...couple of minutes walk to all the bars & restaurants as well as the beach...with a MacDonalds KFC Burger King & Pizza Hut within 200 yards of each other its no different from your home town although found a couple of good Italian restaurants and an excellent Mexican...

from walking round Magaluf its obvious how its party reputation has arisen especially as it gets later at night but once back at the Tropico it seems a million miles away...

Firstly, anyone who has a bad word to say about this hotel is completely rediculous. there is not a thing wrong with it!
I've been 3 times now and love the place. Its central to everything of magaluf, close to all shops bars and restaurants, not far to walk at all! Alot of the reviews have complained about it being in between two 18-30 hotels...firstly, theres a road in between one the sahara and the tropico, so i dont see how anyone can complain about any noise or that its next to it as we didnt hear no noise from the hotel or the road was not busy as we had a room facing onto it 2 of the years we stayed. Secondly, there is a football court and what looks like a car park in between the jungla and the tropico which again i do not understand why people would mention it. you wouldnt even know it was there unless of course you have a room facing onto it. even then, it will not be a problem.

the hotel is no longer a superfamily hotel so there is obviously going to be teenagers hanging about! i really didnt find it noisy at all. once the balcony doors are shut its practically soundproof!

the pool of the hotel is fab. massive. it does get alittle crowded during the day but its not a major problem. Theres plenty of things to do round the pool such as quizes, lilo races in the pool, water polo etc. the reps are great.

Rooms are basic, but liveable. cant find anything bad to say about them. except from the fans on the ceiling arent much help and it does get quite hot at night!Maids come regularly, sometimes bump into them in the corridoors. first year we were there there was one break in.

Magaluf is known for being full of youngsters and groups of party goers. the tropico is way way way out of the way of the main strip so familys with young children neednt worry about too mcuh noise/unacceptable behaviour from the partiers!!
Near to the tropico are bars like benny hills which is really good for familys. good music and a really friendly atmophere!

I would definately reccomend this hotel to everyone!!! its great!

9 of us 4 adults and 5 children/teenagers stayed at the Fiesta Tropico last week in July/1st week in August.

Family we were with went there last year so that was helpful. Found the hotel ok, room was cleaned 3 times in the two weeks we were there and fresh towels were supplied also, no air con just two fans that blow the hot air around the rooms so don't expect much of a sleep.

The sunbed situation at the pool is a complete joke, people sitting from 7am with their England towels pushed in between the stacks of sunbeds. They were even putting them on plastic chairs and on top of the umbrella shades, we just bought cheap lilos and lay on them. Actually saw 12 sunbeds lying empty with towels on them for about 4 hours, I am afraid the English are the new Germans. The kids loved the pool.

Can't say much about the entertainment as we never stayed in at night, didn't have any reason to contact the Thomson reps but I did notice they seemed to be in the reception at a desk most days which was good if you needed them.

Found the drinks at the pool a tad expensive compared to most places in Magaluf but the bar staff seemed pleasant enough. There were a few nights when teenagers were heard swimming in the pool at all hours in the morning, only heard the security chase them out once.

Would probably not come back to this place unless they installed air con and allocated each apartment two sunbeds with the room number visible on it.

Reviews over the past few years have always complained about the sunbed situation but the hotel don't seem to do anything about it, they do have a sign in the reception saying you can remove someones towel if there is no one using the bed but i think its up to staff to do that in case it causes fights.

This hotel is located between two 18-30 hotels who can share all the facilities, thus making the hotel very noisy. However it is centrally located and easy access to the beach and bars.

The staff are polite and helpful and the entertainment is what you would expect at Butlins.

The pool is excellent but gets very busy, and beware to watch your belongings at all time, we had lilos and towels go missing. As a set up I placed my mobile phone under my towel on the sunbed to find 3 ADULTS attempting to steal it. B E W A R E.

I shall not visit this hotel again........though you have to remember you are in Magalluf and anywhere here is extremely noisy.

This place is a disgrace, there is no way it should be classed as a family hotel. Stuck in the middle of two 18-30s hotels.

We booked this holiday early and we told the travel agent we would only book if we could have a pool view. On arrival we were given our room block 7 facing the jungla, no pool view!

The first night tables, chairs were flying off the balcony from the Jungla, the second night the same. Pointless trying to sleep until the yobs have passed out.

I complained at the reception and was told the hotel was full and we couldn't change rooms untill after the 1st week, we had booked for 2 weeks so we said OK.

I was ready to go home after 1st night! Anyway we changed rooms and got a pool view in cell block 8, much better and quieter, but there was one bloke and his Mrs telling a security guard they were going to rip his head off at 3 in the morning.

I felt really sorry for the next family put into the room we had changed from, it seems the hotel just use a rotation system for people who complain, I dont think they should be allowed to get away with describing this place suitable for families!

Yes there are ants nests in every room, everyone had bites!also its not safe to walk outside the complex after 12.30 am due to gangs of yobs!

I could go on but you get the gist. We live in nottingham, which is supposed to be the worst town in England for crime but I feel safer here than in the Fiesta Tropico apartments!!!! Never going back !!!!! Its no holiday here, just a nightmare!!!!

If you have young kids take them somewhere else other than here.

'Butlins' in the sun!! Even the bing bong tannoy all round the complex. Nightmare needed a holiday on returning back from this hotel.

Situated in between to 18-30's hotels, Sahara in front and Jungla behind. Yobs use the Tropico as short cut at all hours of the morning and scream and shout. I witnessed a girl and boy from Jungla thieving clothes and towels and a hand bag from a bottom floor balcony at 7am one day. Was threatened and touched by gang of youths at 8am when waiting for a sunbed which made very very scared.

Views of naked bodies running around early pm and people throwing up at the tropico front door when you are going for breakfast.

Bedding changed once in two weeks and no air con was not pleasant. Dirty towels in bath were put back by maids. Our room door was left open one day by a maid. We were told that the place had been big on robberies believed to be previous tenants having keys cut and accessing the rooms to rob.

The sun beds are chained up and it is like wakey races for a bed and a spot by pool.

Entertainment area is far too small and never once got into the area once in two weeks. Never eat in the place. There is europa a few doors down that serves excellent food. This was my 8th holiday in Maguluf/Palma Nova and the worst ever and can't believe Thomson’s sell this standard.

I found the hotel ok, we had a low floor room and a pool view(e-mailed hotel in advance).

Maid service was good and the pool was great, could'nt comment on the entertainment as we never stayed at the complex to watch it. If the same complex was in another resort I would go back.

The staff were really helpful and polite especially the bar staff.

We stayed for one week at the Tropico and after reading other reviews we were quite concerned about staying at this hotel as we have a six month old baby. On arrival we were allocated a room in block 8 which over looked the pool, I e-mailed the Tropico before we went to request this so I was impressed that they noted out request. The rooms were clean and we could not find fault, we also had maid service twice during the week. I even took ant killer with me just to be on the safe side but there were no ants in our room.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and did not find that there was a problem with the noise levels on a night, perhaps this was because of where our room was situated. One morning we had some kids playing knocking on the door but apart from that it was ok.

We did not stay in the hotel on an evening for the entertainment as there is plently to do in the resort so I can not comment on this.

You did have to get up early for a sunbed if you wanted one but not as early as 7.30am, I went to the pool between 8.30 and 9.00 and was able to get sunbeds everyday. The pool was lovely and our baby loved going in the childrens pool, however it was very busy round the pool and there was only one lifegaurd that I noticed so older children would have to be watched.

The food was a bit more expensive in the hotels Red Lion Bar but there are plently of other resturants near the hotel to eat at.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, it wasn't 5 star accomodation but we knew that when booked it but it was clean. I would not go back to this hotel again but mainly because I don't intend on going to this part of Majorca again as I have been 3 times now.

Whatever you do, do not take half board here. The food is served up across the road at the Sahara and consists
of burgers, processed turkey/chicken etc.

Very poor quality worst we have ever had. The hotel overall is clean, but oh what a terrible place. We were on Block One facing the Sahara which is full of drunken yobs, foul language, nudity and a racket which carries on through the night until the last crowd returns at 7am.

Police at the Tropico on 2 occasions for fights in apartments and in the reception. Thank god we didn't have any children with us. Stuck it for 6 days and bailed out. It is not a safe place to stay, if you go there I can only wish you good luck!! I hope your a night owl.

You won't even get a rest in the day, you cannot get a sunbed and even the beach ones were full.

Fiesta Tropico, Magalluf , Majorca. We found this hotel extremely noisy at night and definitely not suitable for families with young children. We had a pool view but this made no difference to the noise and we even had strangers banging on the door at all hours. The location is excellent which is just as well as we had to go out to find suitable entertainment day and night. I would not use this hotel again. This is regrettable as we stayed here approx 5 years ago and it was fabulous.

We vistited Fiesta Tropico in May 2006 and I am pleased to report I would definately go back without a doubt.

The staff up on arrival were very welcoming and most of them spoke fluent English, they were very cheery and made us feel comfortable.

The food was brilliant a wide selection of English and Spanish cuisine 5 ot of 5.

The rooms were spotless not one complaint and the entertainment was fantastic, something for all the family
would I go back...?? Definately!

Found staff to be very unhelpful during stay.

Room was big enough for 4 but the visiting family of ants took over and no one seemed to care.

Pool was big and warmish also very clean

Reps put on some great entertainment at the hotel which was great as we had a 3 year old with us and couldn't stay out to late

Please be careful as we got phones and chargers stolen on our first few days take between 5.30 and 7.00 not that late in the day

Won't be back at this hotel

Most of the things that you read in the reviews about the Tropico are true ie; getting up at 7.30 for a sunbed, entertainment room far to small ect.

BUT DO E-mail the hotel direct as a Pool view is a MUST. This avoids the noise and bottle throwing from the lads at the saraha, but bewarned, even then, adults and children will be running, shouting and banging on the wrong doors all night long.

A safe deposit box is another must, and double lock your doors.

Room at first looked quite clean but,it was a case of the more you looked, the more dirt you saw. Also had a little invasion of ants. Hotel staff were helpful, kid zone reps the best. Hotel entertainment ok if a little cheesey at times. Even after my moaning, my family made the best of it and had a resonable holiday.

The best part is the Tropico has the best pool in Magaluf.

All in all value for money, bit shabby could do with brightening up broken floor tiles in rooms and corridors, beds very uncomfortable. Hotel clean and tidy lifts not for the faint hearted tended to use stairs when possible got stuck twice. Normal sunbeds problems towels put on from 8am although stated no reserves before 10 not enforced. Pool nice when you can get near it. Would not go here again.

These apartments couldn't be in a better location! but I do have to agree with previous post you do need a pool facing room to get a full nights sleep. We were lucky we had just that.

Pool was great we didn't find any loose tiles, and to our surprise pool was supervised by lifeguard every day.

Rooms clean and well equipped.

Sunbed situaton is a bit silly but why worry when you have an excellent beach 5 mins away.

Staff at the hotel are very helpful.

The one fault this hotel has is the size of the entertainment room you have to sit outside to watch the shows and we couldn't see half what was going on I dread to think what we would have done if it had rained! In comparison the kids play rooms are huge!

We would return to the Fiesta Tropico but maybe take our sun loungers!!

We took the advice of a earlier post and e-mailed the hotel as a result we were in the middle of block 8 facing the pool. It was excellent, no noise from outside.

The pool is excellent.

Staff efficient and helpful.

Location is excellent only 5 minutes from beach and town. Pirates is a must. Tom Browns and Lady Taverna were where we liked to eat but you are spoilt for choice.

The room was cleaned at least 3 times during the 2 weeks.

I would certainly recommend this hotel but you need a pool facing room.

We had two adjoining apartments on the third(top) floor of block 2 both facing out on to the street and looking into the opposite Fiesta hotel. Both rooms were a good size and clean and tidy on arrival.

We didn't eat at the apartment but the kitchen and utensils were adequate if we had wanted to. With a supermarket just over the road it was very convenient to go and get supplies of water and essentials for kids such as crisps!!

Hotel staff were friendly and approachable.

The pool area was fantastic with a large area for children and non swimmers, the deeper end was great to relax on your lilo!! The only moan there was the eternal holiday moan of no sunbeds!! If families didn't insist on getting up at unearthly hours and 'reserving' sunbeds for the whole family, kids included, it would make life easier as the kids rarely get out of the pool long enough to warrant a sunbed! However we chose not to enter the scrum at 7am and went to a local shop and bought lilos for 5Euros and used them!

I would certainly use this complex again as it was so convenient to everything, beach, shops, restaurants all less than 10 min walk, however........I would request a room at the back of block5 or 6 as we had regular wake up calls (4,5,6,7am) from party goers and road sweepers, the former you have to expect in a lively resort, the latter became a real pain!!

Over all fab for kids.

Can't fault the hotel rooms they are spacious and clean, although the ceiling fans make a lot of noise. But watch out for the lifts, we nearly got trapped inside them!!!

The hotel is situated right between the 18-30 hotels, Sahara and Jungla, the idiots who use them keep you awake all night, shouting, screaming, spitting, fighting and throwing glass bottles over the balconies.

I wouldn't advise families to go there who don't like idiots and noise.

Also it is situated next to the BCM night club and other clubs that stay open till 6am some, even 24hr.

If it wasn't for the idiots that spoil everyones holidays, it would be a good place to go to and all families would enjoy it.

Just returned from the Fiesta Tropico - what an almighty let down ! Continually awoken by beer swilling louts from 0500hrs on wards who were smashing bottles and furniture over the balconies.

Considering this is meant to be a super families hotel it is sandwiched between 2 x 18-30 hotels.

In order to get a sunbed you had to be up at 0800 to reserve your bed and spot (pathetic !) otherwise take a chance at 0850 with the cast of Ben Hur. Pool area very dirty, ashamed to be British some days, far better off down the beach (5 mins walk away).

Stayed on a half board basis - would not recommend half board to anyone. Breakfast was fine however dinner was bland and uninviting. Far better (and cheaper) to eat out either at Happy House or Tom Browns.

Our room was broken into with a variety of valuable stolen, felt very unsafe after this. Staff weren't particularly helpful when we reported this incident.

If you're a chav then this is for you otherwise don't bother.

Prior to arriving at this hotel we had mixed feelings after reading other peoples reports about it which seemed quite negative.
We had no reason to worry it was fine. We were allocated rooms on the third floor overlooking BCM's and Benny Hill's. Judging by other peoples comments I thought we were never going to get any peace, but again this was fine! BCMs is soundproofed so you don't hear anything!!! I've stopped in far noisier places!

The accommodation itself was quite spacious- We had four people in our room and it was plenty big enough. If I was really picky I would say that the bathroom could have been designed better- Your legs kept getting bashed on the door as you sat on the toilet!!!

The actual cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired though! The maid was supposed to change the dirty towels if you left them in the bath. Wrong! She just folded them up neatly and hung them back on the rail. There was a broom, mop and bucket but they were as much use as a chocolate fireguard. The mop was bent in half and the broom wasn't much better! This made eradicating the ants quite a challenge!

The sheets were changed once a week but they didn't change the fold up bed at all. So my youngest bunked in with the eldest for the second week! The kitchen was adequate with a fridge and 2 hob rings- no cooker but that didn't bother us.

On a more positive note the balcony was one of the biggest I've ever had, as it was the whole length of the apartment and could be accessed from both the bedroom and living room.It really was a nice place to have your early morning cup of tea or to relax and wait for everyone else to get ready to go out at night.

Both of the fans worked fine in our apartment as did the phone. The safe was also very well secured into the wall of the wardrobe. Wardrobe space was a bit tight for four of us or maybe we took too many clothes I don't know!

The location was almost perfect you were just set back from the heart of everything going on, and the beach was only a short walk away.

We chose this hotel because of its pool and surroundings. They didn't let us down. The pool was exceptional, really safe and clean no loose tiles!!...honest.But there were a few drawbacks...
If you didn't get up at 7 and fight for sunbeds then you didn't get one! You had to get up at 7 and "guard" your patch until they unlocked the beds at 9. We did this a few times and gave up. The fights were getting a bit nasty!!We just went to the beach it was just as lovely. I was really surprised-its a beautiful beach.

Another thing to take into consideration is that every day half of the childrens pool was closed off for swimmimg lessons! So if you fancy your kids having half the pool to themselves just book a swimming lesson at 10 Euros.

Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful (apart from the maids) Some of the reception staff were from this country which was really helpful when you were trying get specific information.

We saw some really good shows at the hotel and had some really enjoyable nights staying in the hotel grounds.Children of all ages seemed to be well catered for, even little tots had their own rumpus room with soft play equipment and ride on toys. The older children could join in organised activities with the reps.

Overall this is a very adequate family based hotel which I would probably visit again due to its location and the facilities it has to offer. Just make sure you take your own cleaning stuff!!

This hotel hires out loads of different things from ceramic straighteners, hairdryers to travel plugs and air ventilation units, so if you are close on your baggage allowance just hire -it might be cheaper than forking out for excess baggage! We had to pay £85 in excess baggage so don't go over 'cause they will charge!!!

I stayed here for 2 weeks in July 2004. It was the WORST holiday I've ever had!!. I have holidayed in Magaluf and Palma Nova seven times before and loved it choice and knew what the resort was like and it has never been a problem before and opted for a Thomsons Superfamily hotel.

This Family hotel 'BUTLINS in the Sun'. It is smack bang in the middle of two 18-30's hotels, Jungla arms length in one direction and the Sahara the otherside. BCM nightclub is one side too. Views of naked bodies running around and England! England! roared every minute of the day. Shouting and swearing goes on from midnight to 9am and views of yobs throwing up right in front of the hotel is a lovely sight. The police were never away from the place.

The youths use the Fiesta in the afternoons and as a short cut all day/evening and early hours. No quiet at any time of the day. Had a sleepless night, less than one hour every day!!.

The BUTLINS tannoy starts a 8.30am until the following 1am with loud, loud music and announcements which gets soo.... annoying.

If your apartment is above the bar, its a nightmare as it boom..booms.. 10am-1pm above the tannoy music. I got friendly with someone staying there and she could not get her 1 year to sleep during the day because of it being noisy all.. the time.

The Thomson exclusive family hotel is shared with Budget Holiday from Ireland!! who share every facility the same as you. Not exclusive to Thomsons. Kids clubs last a few hours as are shared with Budget clubs. I holidayed at the Thomsons Palmeras Playa in Sa Coma and you could go into the club anytime of the day and use outwith the age group club, but not here.

You never, ever get a seat in the bar for the hotels evening entertainment as its too small.

Sun beds are a nightmare. There is not enough. When I was there you had to be at the poolside by 7am to guard a space with a plastic chair and put your towel on a tower of sunbeds to get your bed. The beds were not unchanined until 9am. So not so good with a few hours sleep and having to be up so early to get a sunbed. Then at 9.05am the place was empty no body went near their beds until dinner time!!!. In the afternoons you had to tip toe around the pool area as there is soo little space.

Both swimming pools tiles were come up and cutting little ones fit in the small pool. They were replaced each night but would be floating round the pool the next day. The even closed the kids pool for five days and the same thing happenend.

Apartments were broken into. Our room had the door lying wide open on two occasions. We were told the keys are duplicated by previous holidayers and they return and knock and if get no answer help theirselves which is extremely worrying. Stuff was stolen from lower floor balconies too.

The young kids play park is away in a corner out of sight and there was a Perv spying and watching the kids in the complex too.

I never get a minutes piece and quiet to just relax which was just what you go on holiday for. I know a family complex is never going to be really quiet but is it really necessary to have music blaring from 8.30-1pm and let yobs running through the apartments shouting and swearing at 5.00 in the morning.

BUTLINS in the sun was not for me and I was them same read the all the Holiday Truths website before booking and going and thought more people said they liked it than did not it must be ok, but how wrong. I wish more dis-satisfied people spoke up. I spent £1700 booking a self catering one bed apartment for me, my husband and three year old. Always thought Thomsons were a safe and good option but I was sadly disappointed and was so glad to get home for sleep at the end of last years hols.

The only good point was Tropico is well very central but so is many more apartments. Please venture out theres more to Magulag than the end of the road where McDonalds is. It is probably suitable for teenage kids and their families but not for lit ones below 5.

I would recommend the JMC Majorca Beach hotel in Magaluf on the beach front for the Kids World Club and facilities.

Eating out I recommend 'The Boat House' down by Magaluf Beach seafront (highly), 'Palmeras' Resturant at the old end of Magulaf and a must 'The Blue Bar' at the edge of Maguluf and facing Palma Nova beach.

PIRATES VIP was brill a must for a good family night out. Marine land is ok, but it is the same show every year. We went over ten years ago and it was still the same last year.

Magulaf is a short distance from the Airport is an excellent holiday resort. Magulaf and Palma Nova run into each other so your spoilt for choice to eat out. You can go for cheap to expensive, every budget and taste catered for.

I am going to Palma Nova this year back with JMC and looked round the Hotel last year.

Well I was away in the summer on a girls holiday and thomson booked us into this family hotel. The good things about this hotel are its right in the centre of Magaluf it has everything you need right on your doorstep.

The bad things are well where do I start....

The rooms air conditioning is very poor. You are probably right to ask for a pool view because the fiesta jungle hotel doesnt sleep!

We can't say much because we were a rowdy crowd but dont blame us blame Thomson for putting us in that hotel. When we arrived in the early hours of the morning we were not given any directions on how to get to our rooms or where we could find a lift so we pulled our suitcases up the stairs.

I can't believe so many people are complaining about the noise over there....what do you expect-its Magaluf!!!

If you want a sunbed over there you are best to sleep on them the night before or you wont get them. On one occasion we managed to get beds and went away for breakfast.

On returning we found that someone had stolen one of them.

When we stayed at the tropico this summer we decided on the self catering option...we used the red lion bar at the hotel twice and it was ok but pricey. We went to tom browns and happy house as suggested by others and they supplied the good old brit food!

Our rooms were clean and we saw a maid most days. Our towels were changed three times a week and the bedding twice during our two week stay.
We were lucky as we had pool views and we weren't disturbed very often.every now and again we heard a drunken jungla resident who had lost their way (both hotels look the same in the dark with a few drinks on board)
I agree the beds weren't best and our fan did squeak a bit but after a few tiring days we were too tired to notice!

The hotel was just the right distance from everywhere close but not too close if you know what i mean! Five to ten min walk from the beach which means you get no sea breeze.again we has pool views so we didn't hear bcm or benny hills etc

We found that the fiesta reps (craig kirsty and clare) were excellent. Our kids preferred them to the thomson reps (sorry!)Fiesta activities for the kids throughout the day and an excellent pool! The big pain as everyone should know by now is the sun loungers! We sent the mother in law down every morning for loungers (sorry...again!)Camping out for them starts about 7.30am.most people insist on getting them for their kids but they don't sit still enough to need them really.well worth popping out and getting them lilos like someone else suggested.
Can't really fault our holiday.....the day after comming home we booked to go again next year!it's now november and the kids are listening to their fiesta cd (veo veo etc) again...hasn't been a week since we came back that they haven't wanted to listen to it! Wish we had bought the thomson one too though as we miss thomson the dog
!

Just returned from a fantastic holiday in Fiesta Tropico Magaluf.

We have stayed there several times and have experienced the noise from the Jungala and Sahara so this time I e mailed the hotel and asked for a pool view. This made a big difference. We were able to sleep with the door open and not be disturbed.

Our room was cleaned 3 times a week and the towels were changed. The bedding was changed once.

There were people waiting for sun beds from 7 am. We had sunbeds every day we wanted one but didn't go down until they were unchained at about 9 am they did go quick!

The staff were friendly. The life guard was brilliant. We saw her drag 2 young children out of the pool.

The entertainment staff worked very hard you don't have to join in. There was plenty to keep the children entertained with the drop in, the play area, football pitch and the kids clubs.

We went to Ibiza last year and our children hated it, they asked if we could go back to the Tropico.

Stayed at Fiesta Tropico with my family in from June 12th 05 for about 12 days, was very good hotel

Great food - served pretty quickly.

Great entertainment - fun and lively and Fiesta fun team were brilliant and so were the Thomson kids reps - Shorty, Shaz and Loopy Lindsey were always very smiley and really nice

Pool lovely and big - I know everyone has said about the tiles and yes a few did come off. It's shame you had to be up so early or beds..You need more sunbeds

Kids preferred pool though as sea/beach had jellyfish. Pool well cleaned and lovely!

Lots of good activities in day. Cabaret with Fiesta fun team ... quizzes and 5 aside footy and play park in corner as well which is good, also an arcade room and pool tables and table tennis too which was super!! Also computers in reception to keep in touch with those at home were good!

Entertainment at night- 10 out of 10!! 4 bidden were great. We went out with them one night and with Craig and Kristy!!

Very clean -our rooms were cleaned often and as soon as we needed something it was done(broken plug and fixed before we knew it)

Great place, very central and everything around that you wanted. Bars, clubs, BCM restaurants (loved Tom Browns) and Jokers bar was good...there was a karaoke which we enjoyed!

Hotel staff very friendly, lots to do here, definitely would come back!!!!!!!! absolutely loved it ... Wish we got the Thomson CD now because we can't stop singing Thomson the dog.

Thank you Fiesta Tropico for a brilliant holiday !

We'll be back soon x

Loads more to say but I think people making complaints here are going over the top it was brilliant though I do think perhaps Magaluf is better for kids over 5!

I want come back!! X

The hotel is situated right between the Jungla and the Sahara, both 18-30 accomodation. The Tropico is a superfamily hotel, but even so, there is so much noise and fighting between guests from the two 18-30 hotels that it was for us and many other people a nightmare holiday.

The rooms were ok, both rooms had fans on the ceilings but these just made unbearable grinding noises and didn't cool the accomadation down whatsoever. All accomodation had two single beds (uncomfortable) and in the lounge area a wooden hard settee and a pull out bed under suitable for up to a 12 yr old or less! Both again not very good to sleep on for a two week holiday.

The cleaner came in once during our two week stay to clean the accomodation. This being to mop the floor and put loo rolls in. Not once was our bed linen changed and we did report this to reception on 3 seperate occasions but nothing was done about it.

The noise when staying in this accomodation was terrific, we had to put up with people coming in well after midnight up until five in the morning every night, all with no thought for others trying to sleep. We had kids running up and down the corridoors shouting and banging doors all hours.

We also had to walk past vomit on the stairways, the problems go on.

To obtain a sunbed (which were chained up until 9.00am) you had to get up and stand around by the pool area at 7.00am or you would be unlucky! There was one lifegaurd to look after the massive pool area. Not enough cover whatsoever. I witnessed 4 children being pulled from the pool in my first week alone.

The best places to eat we found were, for breakfast, the Europe bar just 50 yrds from Tropico. Main meal was Tom Browns and for the kids Benny Hills.

I would certainly not reccomend this hotel for families, there are far better hotels for families than this budget hotel.

Palma Nova was excellent worth looking at for a good holiday.

Great location, the hotel itself is what you would expect comfortable and basic.

The worst thing about this hotel is that there are entierly to many people who obviously go there year after year and think they own the place, imagine your worst nightmare with families and kids on holiday and you will see all of this here.

I think the main problem is that it is a Thomson Superfamily exclusive hotel, where this once meant quality it sadly is no longer the case. Believe it or not we actually had a fantastic holiday but this is because we have been to Magaluf before and so knew where to go to escape the hotel.

The Beach which is five minutes away is never really mentioned when people talk about Magaluf, is absolutely fantastic and we spent many happy hours down there. The two water parks are also walking distance and they are both very good.

Must see is the pirates show which is also walking distance from the hotel. Eating out is no problem plenty of choices best places we found were Happy house and Tom Browns which are next to each other on the beach. Well if you choose to use this hotel good luck finding a sun bed.

This is the 5th time we have stayed in this hotel.

Staff are great and the daytime entertainment provided by the hotel staff far outweighs the amount Thomson provide.

Must have one of largest swimming pools in Mallorca, but there are too few sunbeds.

The onsite snack bar is fine for snacks but there is so many places to eat nearby very rarely used it.

very friendly atmosphere amongst guests, most people pass on inflatable pool toys on the day they are leaving.

Going back next year and my 6 year old is already talking about it. (wont be superfamily though next year, no great loss see above)

The hotel was kept very cleaned

The position of our room overlooking the pool ( lit up at night! ) made our holiday.... if it had been round the back looking over road/delivery bay etc like some of the other balconies it would of ruined the holiday for me!!!

Entertainment was very bad the week we were there , which was disappointing

Would not choose this hotel in mid summer as Magaluf gets very loud July/Aug !!

The hotel is in a great location about five minutes from the beach and bars and restaurants on your doorstep. The hotel was clean it had a huge pool but could have done with a few more sunbeds

The beds were chained up till 8.30 every morning and people queued up next to the beds to wait for them to be unlocked, when they did it was a mad rush to grab one and put it where you wanted it. If we couldn't get beds when we got up we went to the beach.

The staff were great when we arrived I noticed that the lock on the patio door was broke I reported it to reception and within 5 minutes it was repaired.

We did not use the entertainment as we went outside.

Arrived here having booked 3* Half Board hotel late deal to find we had a self catering appartment that could not be described as clean and very very basic.

We had to eat in a sister hotel across the road the food there was bearable and limited in choice. Our room was overlooking the cooking extractors of various resturants in the main road so we could not have the patio doors open(Like living over a fish & chip shop).

The toilet had urine in it, this is because it didnt flush properly and the fridge was rusty and yellow it had a horriable smell and a black mould in the seal.

We asked to be moved only to to be told the hotel policy was to only move two rooms per week and we would be eighth on the list. One of the lifts to our cell made a loud thump when between floors after this we always used the stairs.

We asked to move to a different hotel but Thompson policy is for you to pay the Full brochure price along with admin charges and supplements so it is not really a viable option.

We did change Hotels my Daughter booked it for us from the UK we got a taxi and left this hotel after 2 days. It was geared for people who I can only assume have a low standard and let their children do as they wish without consideration for any one else.

Leaving the hotel was like walking through a school playground with no supervisor on duty, children smoking, swearing and spitting, these may well be in a minorty but I feel sorry for the hotel staff and decent people who might book this hotel what must they really think of the English people that carry on in this manner.

Needless to say I did not see any entertainment in this hotel. The reps only seem to help with things like booking a cab, telling people where to by a plaster or arranging a coach visit and drooling over peoples children but do not like it when you complain and only put barriers in the way of resolving problems like moving hotels.

This hotel does not accept bookings without children (per broucher)so why send two adults with no children here on a late deal and if my children were young I would still steer well clear of this Hotel.

In my view this is not worthy of 3* rating.

I thought this hotel was excellent and the reps and entertainment staff were great especially Craig he's gorgeous.

The rooms were very clean and the swimming pool was very big and there weren’t tiles floating around the pool like everybody had said, well not while I was there anyway.

We were there for 11 days and our rooms got cleaned about 6 times while we were there which was good. It was really good that they had internet access as you can keep in touch with friends and family while you are away.

I would love to come back to the hotel again not only to see Craig again because he's proper fit but for the hotel which were excellent.
