| said: The hotel was nice and clean and very well located, just a couple of minutes from restaurants and a short tuktuk ride to main bars/nightlife and bodrum.
Staff, while pleasant, were not very proactive when a problem occurred which it did with air-con, which you pay extra for (about £25 pw) and was 100% necessary if you are to get any sleep! We were lucky in that when they had finally agreed our air con was broken, after going up and down the long stairs several times and been given replacement controls and finally getting someone to look at it, we were given a room change. Others, and there were quite a few, werent so lucky as the hotel became full and basically had to put up with sleeping in a sauna. One couple were given an industrial size fan for their room!
Stairs were many and the lifts don't work so not good for the less active.
OK for a budget but I wouldn't go back because there is no way I could have stood the heat in the room without air con.

| said: The staff at the hotel are absolutley amazing, hospitable and nothing is a problem.
Rooms are very basic, but hey you only sleep there, the holiday was out of this world, we are going back in June.
Turkish people are extremely polite and the nicest people we've met.
I would strongly recommend this hotel as long as you don't expect too much as far as facilities in your rooms.
The rooms were cleaned everday with fresh towels and sheets.
This was the best holiday we've ever had and can't wait to return!!!!!

| said: Good Points:
A few of the staff were fantastic - Atilla at the pool bar and the head food waiter (didn't get his name - very quiet but couldn't do enough for you).
Turkish bath and sauna was brilliant value at £3.
Rooms cleaned every day with fresh linen & towels.
Location was superb also.
Bad Points:
Many staff were surprisingly VERY ignorant and had their favourites when it came to serving (ie all the Turkish guests were served before you even if you were waiting).
The food was very hit and miss - if you like fruit and veg you should be OK though.
All-inclusive drinks finished at 11pm, no terrace bar open, no nightclub open, no gym, no Jacuzzi open, cable TV consisted of CNN, BBC news 24 and 20 channels in Turkish, Polish and German - no MTV or Sky Sports for you music and footy fans.
You were also expected to pay 2 Euros for the pool table! (All-inclusive anyone?)
Overall
This isn't a bad hotel - I just expect more from a "4* all inclusive"!
The Sunway really is close to being tip-top - maybe next year they'll have got their act together (train ALL staff in courtesy and offer an alternative to go along with Turkish food for those with plainer, non-adventurous palates) - depending how much you pay, the Sunway could be worth a gamble - I'd consider it again. Maybe...

| said: I have just returned from a week in the Sunway Hotel and I can honestly say it was one of the best holidays I have ever had.
We booked a last minute deal with Vision Holiday and didn't exactly pay a fortune so really didn't expect much.
The rep was very helpful and we saw him several times during our say.
The food was very nice however do not come here if you do not have an international palate and are not prepared to try Turkish food. I very much enjoyed the food, a nice change from the usual burger and chips rubbish.
Our room was very clean and we had maid service from the very friendly maid on a daily basis. The staff in this hotel really are exceptional, I really cannot say enough in their favour - especially Atilla, Onur and the lovely waiter that always brought me butter for my bread!
The hotel is excellently located for nightlife, shops and the beach. There was no entertainment however the bright lights of Gumbet are right on the doorstep! Turkish bath was also very nice, however they got a little too close to private parts of the body - apparently it is the same for everyone though!
Went on a boat trip during our stay which was excellent. Brilliant weather the whole time - not a cloud in the sky! All in all a fantastic holiday for the money we paid, I would definitely return!

| said: We booked last minute to go to Turkey through Vision Holidays off Teletext beginning of September 2004.
Flights were rubbish but we knew they would be so we can’t complain about that.
The hotel was advertised on Vision’s website as 4 star but it was more like 2 star.
The food was the worst I’ve ever had on an all inclusive holiday. Only 2 hot dishes available the rest was cold – even the chips were in the cold section one day. Nothing was labelled so you had no idea what the food was unless it was obvious.
The sweets were the same every day and disappeared very quickly – if you weren’t first in then the chances are you missed the best desserts as they didn’t replace them with more once they had gone. Good for the diet though.
We both had upset stomachs by the end of the week.
There was no entertainment on an evening apart from some poor music occasionally. The music by the pool was unbearable most of the time going on and off constantly and too loud for the speakers to cope with. Might have sounded ok if they’d just turned it down a little.
Not much for adults to do but even less for children so they just screamed.
Not much choice of drinks either and the wine was disgusting. Drinks had to be paid for after 11.00 pm.
Rooms were advertised as having a mini bar but it was empty and it stayed empty. When I told the rep it was empty he just said that was normal.
Had to get maintenance to fix the air conditioning twice as it either didn’t work at all or it sounded like a tractor and we had to keep asking as they weren't very efficient.
The rooms didn’t have balconies so guests were sitting outside in the corridor and you had to just about climb over them to get past. You had to hang your laundry out in the corridor too.
On the day you check out you have to pay for any drinks/food you have after you check out even though we had only been there just over 6 days.
We enjoyed the Turkish bath and sauna which we paid for.
Best bit about the holiday was the weather and coming home after a week thankful that we hadn’t booked 2 weeks

| said: Hi well we have just returned from the Sunway hotel, Gumbet, Turkey.
We were originally booked for the Yellow Rose, but on arriving at Bodrum airport the rep told us that it was fully booked and we were upgraded to the Sunway.
We arrived 4 o clock in the morning and just wanted to get sorted. When we got into the room first impressions were, what have we come to. The room was quite dull but it had air con so we crashed out for the night.
In the morning we noticed that it was a little dirty, we had a rep visit next day and we had heard from others who had the same thing happen to them (also from the Yellow Rose.) A couple on the same flight complained and moved to a nearby 5 star but it cost them (£160 extra +30 a day food).
We asked for a double room but they could not oblige so we said join our beds together they said ok but it never happened.
The food was quite nice really and the staff were really friendly especialy Atill the pool bar man.
The only entertainment was a pool side speaker during the day and a stereo system in the evening the terrace bar was closed, no Jacuzzi, no gym. I would say it was more a 2.5 star than 4 star. But all said and done we had an enjoyable time.
It is ideally sited for the night life 3min walk lots of restaurants and pubs and clubs. But be prepared for always being hassled at every shop and restaurant for business.
The only consolation was it was hot.
