We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Marina Torrenova and agree with a lot of the previous comments made. Here are some of our comments to add to the pot.

Standard room sizes are small for four occupants and consist of 2 single beds, a sofa bed and pull out bed. The pull out is only 5ft long and only suitable for a small child under ten NOT twelve as listed. With the bed out there is no floor space at all between all beds. Do yourself a favour and book 2 rooms, an extra room cost us under £60 high season and made the holiday so much better for all. The rooms that dont face towards the pool are much queter than pool facing ones as entertainment goes on till nearly midnight. The air con works well and is very quiet. The cleaners work like crazy and the hotel is spotless throughout. We found all the staff to be polite and friendly.

Breakfast is good and theres plently of choice but the food quality overall is low, especially the evening meal. Burgers, sausages, meat and fish are all the cheapest they can get hold of and it shows however salads are fresh and you can usually find something to eat!. Drinks are supplied with breakfast but unfortuantly not even drinking water supplied with the evening meal but we were not stopped from taking our own bottle of drink in with us.

Hotel bar prices are expensive, roughly twice the price of nearby bars. Around the pool during the day nobody seems to mind what your drinking or where you bought it from but cant vouch for the evening.

As for the sun lounger olympics, it has to be seen to be believed. People queing from 7.30 just to get a sun bed poolside, sad. We even saw people reserving 2 lots of beds, some in sun and some in shade so they could move sites during the day!. We were on holiday and we always managed to get loungers anyway so had no intention of joining those fools.

Evening entertainment is hit or miss, Beatles tribute and the comedian were great, the U2 tribute was not!. Talking of entertainment, we can't forget to mention entertainment reps Greg and Lisa who worked their socks off every day and made us laugh, it seemed like they were their 24/7.

We can only agree with others comments about the other thomson reps as they are only interested in selling their trips and give you zero help on anything else, especially if its not an excursion they offer.
Against their advice we decided not to take their 20 euro trip to inca market and went to Palma market on saturday morning instead which was plenty big enough to walk around in the heat and as a bonus got to look around the fantastic city and cathederal.

All together now "Big fish, Little fish, Cardboard box" - all will become clear if you go!.

The hotel and rooms where clean, the staff where very helpful and polite at all times,I agree with the other comments about the pool and sun beds I never queued once but easily got three sun beds each time I went there my 12 year old son loved the games that where put on for the kids so he would rather stop around the pool than go to the beach.
The breakfasts was very good and the evening meal not far behind that, but I'm not a fussy eater, but my wife and son are and they did not complain.
I have stopped at Marina hotels before so I knew of what quality to expect and they did not let me down.
we did the Pirates show and the western water park while we where there and found them great family fun.
The beach is about 8 or 10 minutes away down hill, which was not a problem for us,it was a clean bleach,it costing 3 euro for the sun beds.

We were looking forward to this holiday and had heard all the horror stories about queuing for sunbeds (even though it is not allowed) so on the first day we did not queue and you can easily get a sunbed if you go down at 10.00 like we did however, if you want an umbrella then you have to queue as there are only 50 for the whole resort and to say there are well over 600 rooms that seems quite bizarre. The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful, however if you dont have children with you then the entertainment is non existant. The activities around the pool during the day are basic, quizs and water polo. and at nights they say that until 10.00 the entertainment is geared round the children and after that it time for the adults, that is not true most nights they had an act on and although some were good you could not see anything as the area were the entertainment was is quite a small area, 90% of the children were still up and running around on two occasions I had drinks spilt with kids running around and we had to dodge them whenever we entered the foyer. The thompson reps also put on a show 3 times and I must admit that although they tried the shows were laughable, badly choreographed none of them did the same steps, the costumes were badly fitting. All in all if you have children then this is the ideal place if you dont then its not worth the money as there is nothing for adults/teenagers to do and to be honest they dont try to cater for you either. Now to the food it was basic but plentiful, one thing we did notice was that the roast from the night before was always recooked the night after and a sauce placed on top to disguise the fact that it was old food and they have obviously never heard of vegetables as these were few and far between.

This is our second stay at this hotel and we feel it has gone downhill a little. The hotel rooms were spacious and very clean, however the communal areas were covered in ants, as were the balconies.

The food was ok.Breakfast you could not fault, but evening meal was sometimes a vast array of strange dishes that did not go with anything else.

The hill does not get any easier, especially if like us, you like to go out and about several times a day-and it is definately a hill, not an incline!

The hotel staff are brilliant. They all speak very good English and are a lot more helpful than the reps!

The hotel itself was very good, the only thing that let it down was the food. You could just about find something to eat each night but it wasn't great.
Rooms were spacious and had a TV which had english channels, this came in handy when we had a day of heavy rain.
The pool area was fantastic and the reps at this hotel worked around the clock to make sure all adults and children had a good time.
The location wasn't ideal but we knew this when we booked, we didn't really mind this as it isn't our main holiday. The hotel is situated on what they term as a slight incline. Not so slight if you are pushing pushchairs or have difficulty in walking.
All in all we had a lovely week here even if it did rain once or twice. I would recommend it to others but really they need to improve the quality of the food.
Beware if you are looking to go here in the summer though as it could get very noisy from neighbouring hotels in Magaluf.

Went for a long weekend - and how it dragged. Weather didn't help whilst UK was balmy, we flew out to rain and cool temperatures - nice.
Great test for a hotel / resort is when it rains - what is there to do. Your options in this area are drink yourself silly or go and get some junkfood in a local bar whilst watching 'Only Fools and Horses'.
Whilst I had no real gripe about the hotel in general, the walls must be the thickness of a sheet of A4 paper. Our neighbours came in in the middle of the night on the first evening and whilst they weren't particularly loud, I could hear almost every word they spoke. They moved out the next day and looking forward to my next night of lost sleep, the majority of it was spent with a pillow over my head trying to drown out the new occupiers snoring sound. If you like a bit of P&Q - this isn't the hotel for you, but probably one of the best of a bad bunch in this area full of 'Stags & Hens' who have turned this part of Majorca into Little Britain.
At the end of the weekend, I expected Johnny Vegas to appear around the pool, but finally realised I was in Majorca and not in an episode of Benidorm. Each to their own I suppose! Decent breakfast though.
If you are looking for something with a bit more class try Portal Nous or Cala D'Or.

Just returned from marina Torrenova hotel and was very impressed.
The hotel was spotless and very well presented.
The food was a good range with some nights having a theme, location was spot on with Palma nova on one side and Magaluf on the other, the only downside was the hill which the hotel was situated on but wasn't that much of a problem once you got over the worst part.
The entertainment was fantastic with shows and rep activities, which was really great with us having a 2 year old, thanks to reps lou and alex for a fab time.
The pools were really good with a decent size adults pool and a toddler pool, plus a really good snack bar in between.
Met a lovely couple who had a little 2 year old so had a good holiday with them and are keeping in touch.
Hotel staff were very helpful and spoke really good english, will definetly be returning to this hotel in the future. 10 out of 10

Have just returned from a 2 week stay.

Hotel is spotlessly clean the cleaners really do an excellent job. All staff in the hotel are extremely friendly.

Food - Food was good apart from about 2 nights where they had themed nights Italian - not very keen on Italian food, and Carribean night - didn't know Chicken Tikka was from the Carribean. There was a full English breakfast each morning and most nights there was meat with potatoes and gravy - having read prevous reviews they state a Gala night once a week I don't remember having or seeing a gala night.

Entertainment - was ok did get a bit anoying when lying at the pool, Entertainment at night was not the best - we tended to go out as the bar pirces were steep.

The first week of our holiday we were very amused at the people running out to grab a sunbed however on the second week (beg of Sep) no-one rushed out and there was plenty to go around.

would recommend this hotel to anyone who had children or for a couple, will definatley be going back.

The entertainment is good during the day (poolside) but ive seen better nightime entertainment. Saying that Big applause for Mr Alex...he's great, very witty entertains kids great and the adults also. Cant say same for his co entertainer, abrupt, moody and insulting 80% of time.....in wrong job love! Food was great plenty of variety. Our room was just off reception so was really noisy (maids, gamesroom & restaurant)apart from that nice clean hotel

We stayed at the torrenova marina hotel in palma nova. What a fantastic holiday we had, our ages were from 6yrs to 50+ and we were entertained every night and what a delight to see the children and adults joining in the fun in the evening and daytime and winning Tshirts, cocktails, champagne. Man bags.

Food glorious food it was exellent, someimes you had to ask what some of the food was as no signs to say.

Staff were really good and speak English which was good for the kids.

Take the kids to Kathmandu in Magaluf which is a 10 minute walk it's a upside down house they'll love it if you go early they stamp your hand so that you can go back later on in the same day it's open till midnight.

The hotel faces onto palma nova so it's quiet but you have a choice of 2 beaches.

This was our second visit to this hotel, and again we were not disappointed.

The staff are friendly, the food is great and the location is not as bad as people say.

The entertainers Alex and Loo were great and made my sons holiday. the pool area is safe and very clean, although if you want a good spot to keep an eye n the kids you need to be up and in the line for about 7.45 every morning.

There is so much to do, the kids have the choice of going to the kids club or joining in with the activites around the pool, weather that be killer pool, lawn darts, rounders or shuffleboard. and for the adults you had quizzes, water polo or you could just join in with the kids.

This is a superb hotel for families with activities going on all through the day if you chose to take part in them.

The hotel is very clean.

The hotel staff are fantastic and nothing is to much trouble for them.

The food was great amd there was a good choice evey night and a seperate kids section which the adults quite often visited.

Rooms cleaned every day and clean towels if you wanted them. The rooms were fine and the air con and fridge a god-send.

The kids club was great and they also did some evening clubs which was great for a bit of free time for the adults. Special mention to Alex and Lou who kept the entertainment ticking along all day and night and certainly earn there money.

Sunbeds are available all day long and there is no need to get up early to put your towels out unless you want a specific spot i.e around the kids pool or near the shallow end.

All in all a superb holiday and highly recommended, by the way the hill aint that bad!!

We have just got back from a weeks stay in this hotel, the rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels if required also included was a good sized fridge ,Hairdryer and air conditioning.

The food was lovely with plenty of choice there was a good selection of English food(bacon, Sausage, roast beef, apple crumble with English custard)as well as Spanish style dishes and also a kids section.

The staff were all friendly and spoke good english. The location was good there was a bit of a hill but it didn't really cause a problem.

There's a good size pool which wasn't too cold and a smaller one for children with plenty of sun beds.

The entertainment started off with the kids disco then around 10pm there would be more entertainment.

The rooms had sky sports and English channels. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at this beautiful hotel and I can honestly say that it was fantastic. We have two children aged 2 and 1 and there was so much to keep them occupied. We didn't actually use the kids club as felt kids too young to be left but other children looked to really enjoy it.

The hotel room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels left if needed. The reception team were very friendly and all spoke excellent English. The travel reps were very helpful.

The food was delicious and being a fussy eater myself there was lots of variety so everyone was happy.

The hotel is on a slight incline but I wouldn't say it caused a problem, from reading the reviews before going I was slightly worried about trekking up a steep hill with 2 pushchairs and 2 small children but it was not a problem. In fact we were constantly looking for this almighty hill and saying that this slight hill couldn't possibly be what was referred to as 'cardiac hill'.

The entertainment was very good as the reps did a little of something for everyone. Children's time was from 8.30pm to 10pm and then something for the adults from 10pm onwards not sure what time finished as went back to room after childrens entertainment had finished.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to other people, dont be put off with the location as no problem what so ever. Everything you need is within a 5-10 minute walk whether it be the beach, a nice quiet bar, or a more lively bar this hotel is ideal.

Have just returned from a week staying at this hotel and would definitely recommend it.

The hotel is spotless everywhere you go and your rooms are cleaned every day. We all thought the food was great, there was so much choice for breakfast and for dinner, and the quality was good. As well as a separate children's area, there is also a vegetarian section which is excellent - my sister is a vegetarian and there was plenty for her to choose from, in fact many of us preferred the food in this section! The puddings were also very good - there were several mousses/jelly type things every day plus fruit, selection of cheeses, fruit, ice cream, cake and one or two hot deserts eg apple crumble, bread & butter pudding which were very popular. The staff were very efficient when a particular food or cutlery ran out, it was replaced quickly. The only problem was getting a drink at dinner time, I was never asked once if I wanted one and when my husband asked the waitress didn't understand him, so we ended up bringing our own bottles of water and no one said anything.

The kids club and creche are both excellent, my two (aged 2 and 6)loved going. The creche is for under three's and costs 15 euros but the kids clubs are free apart from a couple of euros for some of the sessions.

We didn't really see much of the entertainment as we prefer the beach to the pool and it was too late to keep the kids up to watch it in the evenings, preferring to sit on the balcony with our drinks. There is a kids disco and games at 8.30pm for an hour which was good.

As for the location, we did not find the hill a problem, I was expecting it to be much worse from the reviews I'd read. My Dad who is in his early seventies found it a bit tough sometimes but only because he has a bad back, but my 2 yr old walked up it without a problem.

I would definitely recommend this hotel if you have children, if you don't then be prepared as it is full of kids everywhere you go. And we weren't there in the peak season so I can't imagine what it's like in the summer!

This hotel was fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone wishing to have a nice quiet holiday. It is located in between Palma Nova and Magaluf so you can have the quiet life or the "full-on" holiday.

The hotel was the cleanest I have ever seen. Cleaning staff were in the rooms every day making them so nice to come back too at the end of each day.

The food was excellent with a choice for all tastes. There was 5 choices of main course, a childrens corner with a great selection and also a carvery. There was british sausages and bacon for breakfast along with all other items usually found in a full english breakfast. Plenty of friut available at all sittings.

The hotel is also up a hill so is not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. We had 2 kids with pushchairs and got used to the hill after 2 days.

The staff were the friendliest and happiest we have met.

The entertainment we saw was good, but to be fair we didn't stay in the hotel each night.

I am considering booking this hotel for next years September holiday again. Excellent value for money

Absolutely excellent for cleanliness. The rooms were cleaned and made up everyday. We had three young children with us and they made their mess disappear.

The maids were lovely very friendly and would have done anything for you.

The hotel itself was spotless and always kept very clean including the pool and the area around it.

The food was excellent a lot to go around there was even a kids corner with sausages, chicken nuggets, fish fingers etc. the kind of food you would get back home.

The hotel was on a slight hill but it didnt bother us because we found the entertainment was brill!! and didnt need to leave hotel only to shop and see professional shows i.e pirates.

The staff couldnt have been nicer as well as the entertainment team they really made the holiday.

We will be returning to this hotel twice in 2007 as we have three children one of whom has spina bifida and we found this hotel very very accommodating to our son.

We had an absolute whale of a time and would recommend this hotel too anybody wanting a real family holiday!!!

100% to this hotel and its staff!!!

Booked a TTTT Superfamily Holiday to either Puerto Pollensa, Cala Bona or Sa Coma but double-booked, stitched-up and sent to TTT Fiesta Tropico in Magaluf. Refused to stay and sent here. Not at all what we booked but Hotel clean.

Staff friendly.

Food good and Entertainment okay.

Pool area very disappointing. Very crammed and sunbed situation a joke. Sun blocked out for half of the day due to the height of the hotel and surrounding trees. Kids loved it and all in all probably good value for money.

Would not go again but nothing to do with hotel just location - to near to Magaluf. Drinks very expensive, especially for the kids. Pint of local lager - 3.80!!!

Entertainment was rubbish and reps were no better.

In contrast, hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent on most nights with roast carveries at dinner and "proper" back bacon at breakfast.

The big concern however was about their fire precedures. The alarm went off when we were there at midnight, and we found then that at the end of the fire escape is a 3 foot drop to the ground. I had to help older people and young children off the escape to safety otherwise many might have been injured. Also hotel refused to call the fire brigade insisting it was a false alarm ! Not very reassuring.

Food - Fantastic selection and worthy of 4* in my opinion. I have 2 extremely fussy kids and they both found plenty to eat. The only bug-bear was the time of evening meal. Doors dont open till 6.30 and my kids were ready for food at around 5-5.30. Would have been better to have an earlier kids evening meal as an option.

Cleanliness - Very clean, maids were round every morning and did a thorough job of our room even with 2 messy kids they managed to make it look presentable each day!!

Location - the hill is steep and can be hard going but we preferred to be away from any noisiness from bars etc. We arranged our own excursions to waterpark/pirates etc and taxis cost us around 5-6 euros each way & they were plentiful and the drivers polite.

Hotel staff - very friendly and efficient. Seemed to work long hours as the same 2 seemed to be on the desk whatever hour we passed.

Entertainment - extremely good. Kids were thoroughly entertained and the evening adult entertainment was of a good quality too. My kids didnt use the kids club as there was plenty to do throughout the stay although other kids seemed to enjoy them.

The only other thing i would warn about is the price of ice-creams and drinks are quite expensive but the food seemed to be good value at lunchtimes.

I would quite happily visit this hotel again or another superfamily property without question.

P.s. We booked our flights with 1st Choice and the hotel separately with Thomson and saved over £900 than booking a package direct!!

We found the hotel over all very clean and all the staff very friendly.

Food in restaurant was OK something for everyone but the snack bar seemed a bit on the expensive side. Drinks in the hotel also on the expensive side so we got our own drinks and kept them in the fridge in our room.

The location of the hotel was good as it is in the middle of Magaluf and Palma Nova. A previous report said about a slight hill, slight is not a word we would use. We named in Cardiac Hill. It was a nightmare after 2 weeks, especially in the day time with a buggy. Be prepared.

Kid’s entertainment was excellent and the reps give it 100% to keep them entertained.

The main problem and the one thing that would stop us going back to this hotel is the fact that sun beds cannot be reserved which generally is a good thing. But this was ridiculous. The doors opened at 8.00am, you had to be there for 7.00am to queue and then it was a race and a fight to get the ones you want. Crazy. We didn't bother and went to the beach. Again, be prepared.

We found half board basis to be excellent for the kids.

There was always something on the menu that was both healthy and suitable for the kids to eat while also being very tasty for the adults. I always found there to be a good variety which was well cooked.

I found the hotel to be very clean with the maid service being very efficient and friendly.
Yes there is a bit of a hill, but certainly nothing that put us off going out, even with the pram. The location of the hotel I thought was perfect - in an immediately quiet area but within very easy reach to a lively area if wanted.

I found the Thomson rep staff and in particular the kids zone staff to be excellent. They showed night after night to be really enthusiastic for their work.

Pool and sunbed area far too small for the amount of guests leading to embarrassing early mormning queuing and rush for sunbeds.

Entertainment was non stop "Agadoo" from 11am till midnight! with extremely loud noise outside rooms making sleep/siesta impossible.

Food was unimaginative, repetitive and reminiscent of school dinners. Nothing Spanish.

Location is more Magaluf than Palma Nova!

Hotel staff friendly and efficient.

Entertainment staff irritating.

We stayed at the Torrenova Marina in Palma Nova/magaluf after booking 2 weeks before as a late deal. We found this hotel to be excellent in every way, clean, good food, friendly approachable staff and excellent entertainment especially for the kids, although we didn't have any with us!

Can't really comment on the adult entertainment at night as we went out into town about 9pm although there was always boards up to let you know.

We are 2- 40+ and never went out to the pool until about 10am, and although the area was full we always got sunbeds. E vidently people did queue from early on but this was for the prime positions around the kids pool etc.

We would certainly revisit this hotel.

In good position for beach and in quiet area, although the hill did seemed to get steeper toward the 10th day! Could hear every bit of the conversation next door as walls very thin, got a bit draining after hearing a granny shouting at Reece for 14 nights at 12 o clock and then the were up at 6 again!

Room was clean & covers changed every couple of days. Hotel food not up too much unless you’re a kid. There was days I could not eat any of the hot dishes and had to go out, breakfast got a bit much too British bacon, sausages eggs etc. you see kids and parents sticking fingers in or trying before dishing up, or the kids bit sticking fingers in puddings & liking then doing it again.

The hotel stopped and the kid’s entertainment for the England football matches which was a bit much with English flags even on the stage, come on there was loads of Scottish in the hotel and we had to go out because of the noise. The hotel entertainment music got very load and outside towards the end of the holiday so no change if pool view for quiet night as goes onto 12 and then bar staff dragging chairs and tables across floors. Yes there was the usual 7.30 queue up for the doors to open at 8 to grab your sun bed which was a drag after only getting 5 hours sleep with neighbours.

The hotel rep in shirts and ties only there to sell those trips, don’t be fooled go to a ticket office as about 10 euros cheaper each for pirates etc. kids clubs excellent. We did not get to comment on our holiday as we flew with air Europa to Aberdeen though.

The highlight our holiday was getting up and watching the 'Benny Hill' style sunbed race every morning at 8.00 when the doors were opened, never seen anything like it ! (very sad)

Big enough room, clean.

Food bland and too 'British', we prefer to sample a bit of Spain when in Spain.

Staff either went at snails pace to clear tables or didnt bother at all.

Thomson reps for kids etc were A1 (as always)

Hill can get a bit wearing after 5-6 days

Good hotel for kids and families, though if you have a pram the hill may become a pain.

This was our first family holiday abroad!

We took advantage of the creche which our babies (3 & 10mths) loved.

The pool was perfect for them, but sun bed space is limited. The beach is very clean and with 4 in easy walking distance you're spoilt for choice.

The range of food available would please anyones taste. It's constantly replenished and the service is very friendly.

Evening entertainment was a bit late 8:30 to 9:30 for the kids disco, but was thoroughly enjoyed. The songs maybe the same every time but my 3 yr old loved it.

On the whole the hotel was very good, only gripe was the room was not cleaned that well.

Ans on the common subjects; the hill is not that bad, the drinks are expensive (we sat on the balcony with a bottle of JD), and we would return when the kids are a little older.

The food choice for adults and kids fantstic. Bit of a steephill but you got used to it when my kids would leave the hotel, because there was too much going on for them. entertainment was good thanks to matt, hannah, sabrina, paco, alberto we also made some lovely friends see you all next year.

Price of drinks: in euros
own brand lager 2.50
worthingtons 5.00
jack danials 7.00

This was our first time in a Thomson Superfamily hotel, we were not disappointed. The hotel was very clean our maid visited us for our full 14 day stay and was very friendly.

You could not get friendlier staff, even the hotel manager would make a daily visit to all parts of the hotel. Food was excellent and the drinks are no more expensive than home. The thomson reps and the marina entertainment team were very friendly and always remembered your name after your first chat.

The evening entertainment was different for the adults every night and the gala dinners in the restaurant were not repeated our whole 2 weeks everything is really well planned out to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible.

The hotel is up a hill but this helps to keep the pounds off you put on in the restaurant.

Having stayed in Marina Hotels before I new their standards are very high and wasn't disappointed by te Torrenova.

The Hotel was spotless in all areas.

Food was excellent, you won't get a better breakfast, and evening meal always had a good selection - something for everyone.

Even the poolside bar snacks are excellent value for money. The hotel bar is bit on the pricey side but the staff are very friendly and not tight with the measures.
The hotel is in a quiet part of Palma Nova away from the bustle and the hill isn't that bad.

The pool area gets a bit busy during day (some of the activities encroach on your space when you try and relax and get a bit of sun).

The fact that the pool doesn't open till 8.30, I think is a good idea and stops people getting up in the early hours to claim thier sunbeds and then go back to bed.

There isn't a need to queue - there's plenty of beds to go round.

The entertainment was your usual fayre, only problem is when they have it inside, there isn't enough room and its hot and stuffy.

The Thompsons entertainment team and Marina's own team were all great and very friendly - not pushy if you just wanted to relax.

Overall an excellent family hotel - highly recommended.

The Marina Torrenova is a clean and friendly hotel.

All of our party thoroughly enjoyed the food - both at breakfast and dinner. There was a very good variety of food on offer, with something to suit even the fussiest of eater! The restaurant is air conditioned with friendly staff, who provided lollipops for our children when they had finished their meals. There is a separate area with a children's buffet which my 7 year old daughter enjoyed.

The hotel is a Superfamily Thomson hotel and as we were only there for a week, we only watched a couple of evening's entertainment and preferred to go out for a drink. We found the bar prices within the hotel to be fair - with large measures!

There is one major problem with the hotel - although there is a lovely swimming pool, in August it is far too busy with not enough sunbeds to go round. The doors to the pool area are opened at 8:30 am - and watching from our balcony, we saw people running to get the best spot!

There is also a lovely children's swimming pool, but again there is not enough room and not enough sunbeds to go round. One morning, after 4 or so days at the beach, we decided to try and get some sunbeds by the children's pool. (our children are 4 and 7 so it suited us). I went down to join the queue at 8:15 am - there was already approx. 50 people in the queue!!!! How long had they been there? All night? When the doors opened, people ran in front of me and when I got to the children's pool, I only managed to get 2 sunbeds! which were in the shade of the tree! I don't quite know how the hotel could get round the problem with the sunbed situation as there is not really enough terrace around the children's pool to squash anymore sunbeds in. We were lucky in that our kids enjoyed the beach, but if I had been staying at the hotel for 2 weeks, I would have been even more annoyed at not being able to sit by the pool.

We did not use the kid's club so cannot comment. However, I did go to have a look and it's true as some people have said, there are only 16 places per age range (3-5, 6-8 and 9-12).

Apart from the sunbed problem, the hotel has everything it says in the brochure. We would visit again, but out of season.

This was our second visit to this hotel and we weren't disappointed with our choice to go back.

Our room was a family suite which meant we had a double room and then a 2nd room off it with 2 further single beds. There were also 2 sofas which could convert into beds so there was plenty of room and storage space.

The kids club was low on staff so they could only accept 16 children per session. The names had be put on a list the day before and priority was given to the children who missed out on the previous session which did seem the fairest way of doing things. My 9 year old attended one evening session as this was his choice and my younger son attended 3 daytime sessions and one evening session during our week, only missing out on one daytime session that he had wanted to attend.

The food was lovely, plenty to choose from and lots of it!! There was a seperate childrens buffet but basically it had the same food every night which was chips, burgers, chicken nuggets and spaghetti. They also had themed nights in the restaurant and all the staff dressed up!

The entertainment was very good, day and night time. The Marina staff, Thomson staff and outside acts were all of a high quality. Some of the evening entertainment was held inside and that could get a bit crowded and hard to see what was happening on stage if you weren't there early enough to bag a good seat at the front! My youngest son loved the nightly mini disco and Thomson the dog made many personal appearances!!

All in all I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone with children. I know there have been comments made about the sunbed palarva and it's true, when the doors open at 8.30 the stampede starts, but it happens anywhere so it was really no different to any other hotel we'd previously stayed in. I would definitely stay here a 3rd time if I had the opportunity.

Very nice hotel with both Thomson staff and hotel staff extremely friendly.

Food very good especially the breakfast which had a great choice of things. I'm sure there was always something for eveyone although you do get fed up of eating towards the end of the second week.

We found the hotel room very good and actually was bigger than we expected with a double bed, a sofa bed and a pull out bed(only upto 12 years old) and believe me we have been very cramped in some hotel rooms but not this one. Beds and pillows could have been a bit comfier!!

We didn't watch alot of the entertainment but the Beatles and the Supremes tribute bands were very good. Drinks in the hotel are expensive. The only downside for us was the kids messing about outside late at night whilst parents are drinking inside which meant we tended to go out most evenings.

Ive just read the last persons report before my comments and I'm sorry but I can't believe we have been to the hotel.

Thompson staff and marina staff were great

Kids clubs did a brilliant job my 2 are 8 & 10 and they wanted to go every day. (They didn't though)

Really good entertainment most nights good tribute bands comedian dancers and lots more. Kids mini disco varied every night. Hannah the Thompson entertainment co-ordinator was so enthusiastic you couldn't help but join in.

There were themed nights every night in the restaurant and the choice of food was excellent even the most picky of eaters would have no problem.

The drinks at the bar were expensive so we took our own in no one seemed to object.

The hill is not that bad .

I found most of the bars in the resort a bit in the rough side not catering for children at all.

Our best holiday yet and after 2 weeks I didn't want to come home!

Came home at 2pm today booking again for October.

We have just returned from this Hotel, and thought I would add a few comments. The Hotel itself was very nice, the food was basic and not much variety, but was OK for the period of time we were there.

The location was not great, It was a struggle to get up the hill and to the point were we couldn't't be bothered to go out of the hotel because of this.

The rooms are very small, literally 4 single beds in a room, and a small bathroom. This was not an issue, but it's nice to have a little space between the beds.

The staff at the hotel were very good and helpful.

The entertainment was rubbish!!. My daughter loved the mini disco, but compared to our previous superfamily holidays it was very poor. The Thompson Reps were not up to standard, and Thomson the Dog did a show on Christmas Songs !!!. Then Thomson left the hotel, leaving my daughter very upset.

It seemed that the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing*!* We were told the entertainment was outside and then when we were seated outside it was actually inside.

The queue for the sunbeds was unreal. However my husband made lots of friends every morning queueing from around 7ish for the doors to be opened around 8.30am (if you did not queue you did not stand a chance of getting around the pool all day)

As a superfamily hotel, this did not stand up, on one occasion I asked the Thomson Rep if I could hire a Sun Umbrella for my buggy, as my 3 year old daughter had been taken ill, and we had to keep her out of the sun. I was told that they did not have any, or hire them and I would need to find a shop to buy one.

The drinks in this hotel are VERY expensive, and everyone was taking there own drinks from the supermarket, this was inconvenient as they didn't stay cold for long. It was a real shame that the hotel was twice the price as the rest of the resort bars.

I would not visit this hotel again, although the many families we met there were on their second or third visit, and they said this was the worst year ever.

We found out that the "Thomson Superfamily Exclusive Hotel" was filling the rooms with club 18-30 rowdy singles and towards the end of the holiday the noise at night was terrible. When Thomson were challenged about this, they fobbed everyone off!!, We also found out that they paid a fraction of the price for an allocation on arrival at this hotel!!

If you are looking for a fantastic holiday go to Ibiza, Playa den Bossa at the Club Don Toni - that really is a Thomson Superfamily, and we will pay the extra to go back there year after year, after this disappointing holiday.

Although some of my points sound negative, and I never normally complain about anything, this hotel I believe was one of the better ones!.

Very clean with friendly staff.

The food was good but it was very packed and chaotic so you had to pick your time. Reminded us of a playground with lots of crying kids so we found it best to eat outside. Much calmer. Lots of choice with the food and we never went hungry.

My daughter loved the mini disco but found the entertainment started a bit late and it was so-so. A bit tacky some nights.

My husband joined the early morning queue for sunbeds from 7am for 8.30am door opening just so we got a decent seat. I counted 67 bodies doing a 100m sprint for sunbeds and was surprised that nobody got hurt.

Lovely clean pool and with a lifeguard present at all times.

I would not visit in the high season but would recommend this hotel if you have very young children. I would prefer a quieter hotel, as at times it reminded us of a mini Blackpool. Sorry!!

Visit the Pirates show, it is worth every penny and a great night out

Stayed at Marina Torrenova with family for 2 weeks in June 2005. Found hotel to be generally quite clean apart from awful smell continously coming from toilets near Thompson reps desk - must'nt have used enough bleach!!.

Food was really tasty with a good variety but seemed to be a bit mad with people ducking and diving. Drinks were an absolute rip off.

Better off going to the Bristol bar behind hotel or bringing drinks in from supermarket. Pushing the pram up and down the hill was'nt too bad as it counter acted the alcohol intake and kept the fitness levels up.

Reception staff and bar staff were friendly as was the lifeguard who was smashing with our little boy.

Entertainment was in our consideration very poor with the Thompson reps and Marina entertainment staff putting on very naff shows.

Really for the money you pay Thompsons should be putting on professional entertainers every night - this point we found very disappointing.

A point of caution - over a 2 week period numerious items of clothing went astray from my in laws room - even out of the cases!!

The hotel is spotless and the food is as good as any i've had in the 8 times i've visited Majorca. The hotel is situated on a slight incline but nothing too steep even when having a pushchair to push up.

The staff were all really friendly including the maids who always had lollypops for the children. Entertainment was as good as it gets for a superfamily hotel, the children loved it and the marina reps were good too.

Would we come again? All twelve of us will be back next year if not before it.

we stayed in the Son Balo in C'an Picafort in Sept which was a super family hotel and had an excellent time so on return to the UK we looked for another super family hotel in majorca and with its top rating and gold award we choose the marina torrenova!

What a dissapointment in comparison to the holiday 9 months earlier on the same island.
The professional entertainment was great but the reps shows and the hotel staff shows were pathetic.

The hotel has the highest priced drinks I found in the resort the whole point of a super family is for the family to stay at the hotel and be entertained(only if you have lots of money or don't drink £2.40 a pint)

If you have young children enjoy cardiac hill!!
And the best thing is the early morning sun run this is were you have to line up from 6:30 till 8:30 when the poolside doors are unlocked to enable you to get a sunbed.

We stayed at the hotel every day and queued up at 4pm every day so that our 8 year old got her name down for kids club and our 2 year old got her name down for the creche (which costs £10 for 2 hours).

My advice is save yourself some money and book the son Balo on the otherside of the island.

p.s don't bother writting a letter of complaint unless you want to recieve a standard customer services letter thanking you for your letter from the uk's no1 tour operator

The hotel was very nice. It was clean and so was the pool area.

The food was nice but the dinning room wasn't all that clean. Infact the high chairs were disgusting. I finished up putting my son in his pram and sat outside to eat as you weren’t allowed pushchairs in the dinning room. The second week we were there things started to change and it seemed a lot cleaner. They even managed to put table cloths on the tables. The food though, you could not fault. There was plenty of choice.

The location of the hotel was situated up a hill, which wasn't very good if you have a pram, but for us there were enough adults to take it in turn to push my son up the hill.

It was out of all the noise but yet not too far away from the night life or even a few quiet bars if that's what you prefer.

The hotel staff were very nice. We wanted to move rooms so we could be next door to each other and the hotel staff were more than willing to let us change. We were almost in a different room immediately.

The entertainment was fantastic. The Marina staff were very good with the guests. There was something on every day day and night for all ages. Some of the night shows done by the reps themselves were a bit poor but I suppose they gave it a go and the kids loved it anyway.

We had a brill holiday and would go back again.

The hotel was very clean.

The location was not to bad just a bit of a hill to walk if you go in to town.

The pool's are excellent, lots and lots of sunbeds and very clean.

On reading all of the previous reports before I went I felt I was well prepared for what was to come! OR was I?? Unfortunately this Super Family Hotel just didn't match up to what I was expecting.

I agree with many that the hotel is very clean with friedly staff who seem to take pride in what they do with the Restaurant Manager very helpful and attentive in deed! We all loved the food with my son age 4 mixing and matching fod from the kids buffet section with the adult choices. I feel that they should have placed some vegetables in the kids buffet. The breakfast choice as many othes have said was tremendous, full english selections, fresh fruit, cereals and a continental selection of croissants etc. Unfortunately there always seemed to be a queue for the drinks machines.

The hotel location although up a hill is perfect as you are in what I would call a semi residential area so you do not get any bar noises or anything. The noise inside the hotel was a different matter! The walls of the hotel are very thin and be warned that a raised voice can be heard very clearly in the next room, we heard everything from our noisey neighbours who had no consideration for us when they came in every night with their screaming baby that just did not stop crying!!! The corridors just seem to amplify the noisey entertainment and the screaming kids who just seemed to run up and down the corridors all night! Having a 4 year old we were back in our room by 10.00 but did not get to sleep until 12 or 1am!

The evening entertainment was fine until 8.30 when the kids mini disco finished it then went down hill with the Reps winging it most of the time, the Marina Reps were the worst!! Thomson reps just seemed to be learning the routines when at the end of June I would have thought that they would be now well rehersed!

The most dissappointing part of this holiday was the kids club. The whole reason we booked this hotel was so our son could enjoy 2 hours of fun BUT unfortunately he never got into the Tots club during our 10 day stay! He was very upset about it!! Basically at 4 o'clock everyday a list of 16 places (yes 16 for the whole hotel!) is put up and parents have to queue up every day to put their childs name down - I was not prepared to do this as we were not at the hotel at that time every day. All the places were taken by 4.05pm!!! This to me is not acceptable and more kids reps are needed!

Finally the sunbeds!!!! We NEVER managed to get a sun bed during our stay! It was comical to watch from our balcony the swarm of people who had queued since 7.30am to get the prime spots around the baby pool
not a holiday in my eyes to have to do this. The hotel need to look at how it can be resolved as many people just didn't occupy their sunbeds until 2 hours later!!! The British ARE worse than the Germans"!

If your summer holiday usually consists of staying up til 1am, getting up at 7.15, queuing at 4pm and showing totally inconsideartion for others then this hotel is the one for you! I might consider going back if it loses its Super Family Status as it was in a lovely location as unfortunately I will not be going to another SuperFamily hotel again!

Don't miss the Pirate Show !!! Its a must!!!

The hotel was clean throughout. As previously stated the evening entertainment was geared around the kids. But my two loved getting up on the dance floor for the mini disco every night. Sunbeds around the two pools were at a premium, you had to get down there by 8am to get a bed, we didn't bother preferring to walk 200 yds down the hill to Son Matias beach where there were spaces galore.

Buffet selection was different every night. The drinks machine was switched off in the evening & drinks purchased with the evening meal were expensive, most people would bring down soft drinks from the local supermarket to drink in the evening.

The kids club was brilliant, our eldest loved the activities and it gave us a break for a couple of hours a day. Beware places are limited for the clubs and you have to be quick to get a space for the following day. Maids were very friendly & would supply the kids with sweets & lollipops every time you met them.

This is a fantastic hotel for young families and we will definitely be going on a Thomson Superfamily holiday again next year.

Our room was spotless, overlooking the pools, and had a tv, kettle, hairdryer and aircon. All parts of the hotel were kept clean and the staff were really friendly (the chambermaid kept my two stocked up on lollipops). My older son went to Kidzone most days and loved it. The kids' reps were fantastic with the kids - we loved Groovy Garry - and put on a kids disco most nights.

It was repetitive and cheesy, but my two loved it and it is for the kids after all. The nights the Thomson kids reps weren't doing the disco, the hotel entertainment staff did one, so the kids had a great time every night.

The food was great (buffet style - I managed to put on half a stone while I was there) and the choice at breakfast is ridiculous...sausage, bacon, black pudding and all the usual full English stuff. But for the real pigs, there's also chicken nuggets, chips, onion rings, cakes and doughnuts.

The only negative thing I could say about the food is the lack of variety at the kids' buffet - sausages, chicken nuggets and chips every night without fail.

The stampede for the sunbeds is mad, but if you want a decent speck, you have to join in!
This was the best holiday we've ever had and we were gutted coming home. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone with kids - the litte ones love it!

The Steele family, had a great holiday but did not like the entertainment, we think it gets better after May.(Told by others).

Hotel excellent in all other aspects great for kids...Thompson’s could do better for the adults...

Staff are all excellent.resort best for young 18 to 30 my girls will be back but not a kids hotel would do a Thompson adult only...

We did all the trips which were great.

We would do another Thompson family again elsewhere as I know their entertainment can be good....

I agree with most of the comments posted previously. The staff were all very friendly and helpful as were the Thomson reps.

My husband spent the last four days of our holiday in hospital and everyone I approached were very helpful.
The room was excellent especially having a fridge and kettle and cups.

We are 'young' senior citizens and knew it was a family hotel but found lots of the children were extremely unruly and unsupervised. I must admit that there were a lot of very well behaved children too!

We did not think very highly of the cooked food at dinner and lots of other couples agreed, but the salads and sweets were fine and the breakfasts as well. We would have preferred table cloths to having bare tables!

Having made these comments, I must admit we could always find something to eat as plenty of choices. The dining room staff were all friendly.

I can't comment on the entertainment as we always went out. The very young children seemed to enjoy their spot.

The hotel is up a quite steep hill but was manageable (good excercise!!)and it was easy to get to both Palmanova and Magaluf.

As a family hotel I am sure it was most suitable but we would not choose it again.

This was the most fantastic holiday we have ever had! The hotel is beautiful and the staff excellent - from the cleaners to the management. All staff have pockets full of lollies which are handed out to the children - much appreciated by them! Food was great and service in the restaurant marvellous.
Now for the entertainment - the Marina team were just the greatest - cheers to Aiden, Sally, Angelo and Sally - you were immense and really made our holiday!
The Thomsons team were just as good and were brilliant with the kids.
The best thing about our holiday were the people we met - you know who you are!!! Special thanks to the Marina Mooners.

We booked a last minute deal and for just over £560 we got the bargain of a lifetime!.

The hotel is mint, rooms are spotless, lovely decor.

Food, varied and you can eat as much as you want. Only thing was that occasionly some food was not as hot as you may expect at home.

The staff were extremely polite except for one restaurant waitress who could have sported a smile and asked before she removed your plates, from your table.

The entertainment on an evening includes circus acts, Four Tops tribute bands etc etc, our daughter aged nine loved it and wants to go back. The entertainment lounge seating could do with a facelift and if done I honestly believe this hotel could be a "four star" accomodation.

It is worthy of it's gold medal award for 2003 and again in 2004

Superb, very clean, staff were excellent very friendly and always available for questions or queries.

The hotel is on hill which is a bit of a trek after a few beers but at least it is out of the way of any noisy bars.

Management team come and greet you at the welcome meeting, Miguel in the restaurant is especially good, and his customer service skills would put many to shame.

Didn't see much of the entertainment as don’t have any kids but there was plenty to keep them occupied but we did see the Abba tribute one night and they are not to be missed.

Overall very good would definitely go again and recommend to anyone.

Fantastic! The Hotel was spotless, Breakfast and Evening meal were buffet style with plenty of choice and even a seperate section for kids meals in the evening, which included Pizza, Nuggets, Sausages etc. The Manager had a very 'hands on' approach always around making sure things were ok.
You get to meet most of the key members of staff at the welcome meeting it wasn't just the usual hard sell for organized trips. We did have a little problem with the service at the poolside cafe the one lunchtime we tried to use it. We waited at the table for 30 minutes trying to get the waiters attention, gave up in the end and walked into town. We didn't see much of the daytime entertainment it was the usual superfamily stuff, water polo, darts, football etc. Evening entertainment was varied and quite good, the kids disco was enjoyed by my three year old daughter and gave us a break.
As mentioned by others the hotel is on quite a steep hill that was a pain with a Buggy and beach gear but we soon got used to it.
This Hotel is a three star but much better than a four star we stayed in Apil.
Overall a well run, clean hotel, good food, what more do you need.... book it now !

We stayed at this hotel in September 2004, we only chose this hotel as it was a Superfamily, what a laugh!

Our sons couldn't use the larger pool as it was too deep and at 9 and 6 they were too big for the paddling pool.

We paid extra for a suite, which was nothing more than an average room with the broom cupboard wall knocked down. The plugs for the kettle were above the childrens beds, we had mould on the wall due to the lea
