This hotel is lovely - the public areas are clean and spacious. The swimming pool area is amazing - big enough to swim in, and one whole area of the pool is now a pirate ship water play centre. My DD absolutely loved this, and the play ship in the main atrium.
Our room for 4 was slightly larger than comparable rooms at the Santa Fe or Cheyenne hotels, with bathroom (and lovely powerful shower) and separate toilet. Hairdryer, TV, kettle and hot drinks fixings all included at no extra charge. There is also a safe in the room.

The breakfast buffet is well organised, even with many guests. The food is laid out in the main restaurant, drinks are in a separate area, and you can take your breakfast in the atrium as well as in the main restaurant (much less hectic in the atrium). The fresh fruit at breakfast was yummy - oranges, melon, watermelon, and pineapple.
We had a pizza from Marcos in the atrium on our first evening - only 10 euros, and the pizza was very tasty, and big enough for us 2. Drinks are expensive in the hotel though - soft drinks cans are 3 euros each, either at the bar or in the vending machines.

Check-in was smooth, and was check-out. Staff all friendly and helpful.

Because of the pool and Marcos mainly, the Explorers is now DD's absolute favourite hotel out of the 3 we have visited at DLRP (the others being the Santa Fe and Cheyenne).

With this being an offsite hotel, I found I had to be more aware of the time, as the shuttle buses run every 20 minutes. We missed one by only a couple of minutes on our first morning, and so waiting for the next one seemed to take eternity (and we missed an extra 20 minutes EMH).

This hotel caters for large tour groups, and I have never seen so many school groups in the parks as on this trip - there were loads of them. There were at least 3 such groups at the Explorers while we were there, and unfortunately, our room was between 2 of them. Our first night, we had one room banging about and running in the corridor until after 11.30pm, and the next night, we had the other side banging about and shouting out the windows til roughly the same time. I had to phone reception on our 2nd night about the noise, they were great, they contacted the lead of the group, and shortly afterwards, there was no more noise from the window-shouters.

I know the Explorers is not to blame for my sleepless nights, as I have experienced something similar (although not on the same scale or quite so late) in the Cheyenne. Its a shame in a way that the Explorers has interconnecting door in all its rooms, as noise obviously travels much louder through a door than through a wall.

I did enjoy our stay at the Explorers, and would stay there again (but I wouldn't schedule my stay there for the beginning of June again, as that appears to be school trip season!)

Have just returned from a five day Christmas break at Disney Paris. We stayed at the Explorers Hotel and were not happy at all with the place. The building was nice and the room, although small was adequate and clean. My quibble is with the appallingly poor standard of food available in the restaurant. We paid £30 per head, in advance, for the Christmas Day Buffet and were shocked at the quality of the meal. The starters and desserts were satisfactory but the main course was horrendous. It was certainly not worth the price we had paid. Apart from the restaurants, there was little else available in the evening, other than pizza and chips which were quite revolting.

There were plenty of activities to keep small children occupied. Unfortunately some of the guests allowed children as young as age two to run amok until the bar closed its doors. We were astounded that the hotel had no policy whereby adults were required to supervise their offspring.

We were also astounded that a number of women regularly appeared for breakfast, dressed in pyjamas! I have travelled the world but never before seen people wearing their nightclothes in the public areas of any hotel. It gave a very poor impression and, again, the hotel should have a policy requesting that guests adhere to a suitable dress code.

Given the option, I would never have chosen to stay at this hotel and I will most certainly not be returning. Our holiday was booked as a last minute whim and, unfortunately, the only hotel which had rooms available was the Explorers.

Hotel was very impressive. We were a little concerned as to what it would be like; given its outside the Disney Resort but after seeing the other hotels in passing this hotel matched those in Disney. Free shuttle bus every 15 mins to the parks and this hotel is the first pick up which means no worrying about not getting on (as you can imagine these buses are very busy)

Rooms were spotlessly clean and very spacious with a free tv with cartoon channels for the children. There was a free safe and air con as well which was great.

We had a continental breakfast included in the price which was really nice;plenty of pastries/cereals/fruit and yogurt to choose from. A cooked breakfast was available for 6 euros but we didnt bother.

There is a couple of restaraunts and bars to chose from within the hotel and an excellent take away pizza bar (10euros each)

Staff were really helpful and friendly; actually the nicest Ive met in all my holiday.

Would definitely consider staying here again and would recomend to others.

We were very apprehensive after reading reviews of Hotel but we were delighted with our stay there. Having previously stayed at Disney Santa Fe I would rate this more highly. The Pool and soft play area were excellent. The Continental Breakfast was super and if you wished something heavier you could pay 6 Euro for a full English. There was a Brioche Doree outlet you could vsit within the Hotel. The rooms were immaculate with towel changes daily, TV, and free safe. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Hotel was full but did not feel it. Bar prices as expected high 6Euro 50 a pint but a 2 for 1 happy hour between 8 and 9 pm. The games room excellent for older Children. First stop for Disney shuttlebus and at park in 5 mins. Will recommend to all friends

The Hotel was excellent. Everything you would ever need for your stay at Disney. The staff were very helpful, the hotel and room was very clean. The staff even let us have a look at the hotel buffet to see if we would like to eat it first - which we did and it was excellent! The pool was great although it was very busy and the play area and pirate ship were in a great location which meant we could have a drink whilst the children wasted the last of their energy! I personally dont think there would be much difference in a disney hotel (apart from having the characters in reception) but after disney it was nice to have a break from all that. Shuttlebus was very easy to catch and we never had to wait more than 10 mins for one to turn up! Will definately come back to this hotel.

The hotel was better than expected after reading the experiences of past visitors I was expecting to be disappointed but we weren't.

The room was a little tired but it didnt matter as we spent approx 7 hours a day in the room all of which were sleeping hours, the pool by the way was great and we managed to fit in two visits to it.

The continental breakfast was very good and we snuck a few croissants into our back pack for emmergency rations in the park. All staff we encountered were great, no entertainment abviously being disney this was to be found elsewhere.

We will definately be visiting again due to it being the only one with a pool and the only one sleeping up to 8 people.

We arrived at this hotel, very deflated as we had dropped other people off at the nice hotels in the Disney Village. We knew it was not going to be very special as we did not pay that much for it.

First evening we did not know you could of gone to the village and eaten, whicj is just outside the parks, we ate in the hotel and was buffet menu 21 euro for adult and 11 euro for kids, it was really poor food, i did not find much i likes and the plates and cutlery were not very clean.

When we arrived at the park the following day things were better. As it is fantastic, at the end of the day it is just a bed to rest your tired feet after a full day in the park.

Rooms spacious, well equiped and clean. No entertainment provided. Good facilities for children, including a swimming pool and adventure area for the younger ones with ball pit, slides etc. Staff polite and helpful, cleanliness excellent. Breakfast buffet very good, well stocked with a good number of choices, english breakfast costs extra, but hardly anybody seemed to want it. Evening meals good.

The free bus to the Disney park was fairly frequent, maybe every 20 minutes or so. One advantage of staying at this hotel is that it was the buses first stop, so it would arrive empty. However, often in the morning I saw the bus leave full, so guests at the next hotels on the route must have been left dissappointed and waiting.

Previously we have stayed at the Santa Fe so this was our bench mark when comparing the Explorers. Both are two stars so should be on a par.

I think the main think that disappointed us was the difference it made not being a Disney hotel- no Disney touches in the bedrooms, characters in the lobby etc and I have to say we missed that. Essentially the hotel was fine. The rooms were basic but a reasonable size and the communal areas attractive. However, the hotel did feel tired in places, where maintenance could have been better.

Can't fault the staff- they were excellent and we never found them less than helpful.

What we didn't like unfortunately was the pool. Don't get me wrong it is a great facility, but not having a lifeguard means that people use the slides in a totally irresponsible manner. Kids and adults alike were landing on top of each other at the bottom and to be honest it was an accident waiting to happen. We actually booked the hotel for the pool and having been in once would not use it again!!

Bus service to the park was quite frequent although it did go around all four of the hotels, so wasn't as quick as the Disney hotels.

In summary it was OK- we wouldn't use it again, since if we wanted a hotel minus a pool we would go back to the Santa Fe. I would use it again in the winter months when you would be more inclined to use the pool, but only if the hotel changed the system to employ a lifeguard to police the use of the slides, otherwise I would certainly go elsewhere

Hotel very clean and spacious. Use of free safe in room. Bathroom small but clean, extra towels that we asked for were brought immediately. TV provided however due to technical problems the playstation was not working.

The bar area is clean, drinks very expensive, pirate ship and soft play area are great for kids and gave mums and dad peace to enjoy a drink.

Pool if a little small was good fun for kids with 2 water shots.

Would not eat evening meal in hotel, expensive for what you get. Breakfast was adequate the lay out of the self service area was not good and involved queueing for bread, then for cereal, then for drinks etc., tables not cleared fast so difficult to find somewhere to sit at busy times.

The shuttle bus provided was regular, at times very busyt but free. In summer would be a nice (20 mins) walk to Disney from hotel.

Paid less than brochure price for this hotel and would stay again but not at full price.

Very pleased with the hotel, we stayed for 5 nights through New Year and the room was tidied and clean towels supplied every day.

The staff were friendly and efficient, a couple of small problems with our room were dealt with within minutes.
The breakfast was continental self service and there was plenty of choice.

There wasnt any entertainment in the evenings apart from New Years Eve although the pool stays open late and there are good play areas for the kids.

The free shuttle buses to Disney run every 15 or 20 minutes although they can be busy, be prepared to stand!

We enjoyed this hotel very much and will definately go back.

With our booking to go to DLP was the disney bus which we paid extra for which was to take us to and from the airport during our holiday.

Unfortunatley when we landed at about half 10 at night we found that the last disney bus was at half 7! after a while we managed to finally book a minibus for 140 euros ( luckily down from 240 euros!!) to take 9 of us to the hotel. it wasnt the best start to our holidays when the 3 and 7 year old were tired and hungry after hanging around airports all day.

When we finally arrived at the My explorers the staff were more than helpfull. They explained to us all about the hotel, the facilities, and the timetable for the disney bus back to the airport!!

We were totally amazed at the hotel, after checking in we went round to the seating area and saw a fantastic pirate ship to which the 7 year old had woken up and was running up and down on.

Behind it was a large soft play are and next to that was a large swimming pool with a fantastic slide. There was also a small arcade.

Next to the balcony seating are was a bar. under the grand stairs was the plantation restraunt where breakfast was served and meals.

As it was 2 members of our group birthdays we had ordered 2 surprise birthday cakes. unfortunatley there was a note left under the door of one of the persons who was recieving the cake to explain there was no sponge cake available!

However, we could only have the cakes if we had a meal which was slightly dissapointing at 18 euros per adult and 10 euros per child.

The choices were starter & main or main & dessert but the options weren't great. I ended up choosing the childs option because of the off putting food for the adults choice!

By the time we'd paid and eaten our starter the main course was cold! The cakes were fabulous however! Lights were turned down in the restaraunt as the cakes arrived with singing staff to the 11 year olds delight!

The bus to the parks arrived every 15 mins and didnt take long. On friday we managed to do the whole park as it was dead so make the most of that if you are there during the week as the weekends can be horrendous!

Staff would do everything to help (some more than others however) There is a tv in the main reception area where the 7 year old often sat whilst we nursed our drinks during happy hour ( we advise you to make the most of this as drinks are usually very expensive!) as soon as he sat there staff came over to him and put on a dvd for him.'

The hotel was clean and there were always staff cleaning it thorougly. If we ever came back to DLP we would certainly return here it was great for the kids and a realxing clean atmosphere.

The hotel was absolutely brilliant for children - could not ask for better. The indoor play area and ship kept them busy while we could unwind with a drink (albeit extremely expensive!)

We had a room with a bunk room connected. It was clean and spacious and provided everything we needed. The bathroom was small, but modern and comfortable enough.

Do NOT eat in the hotel, especially the self service buffet - the food was poor quality and a total rip off. The take away pizza is nice enough though, so if you must eat there, get that - I would say a trip to Disney Village is much more worthwhile.

Breakfast was a bit of a farce. you're given a time slot which could be too early or too late in the morning, hope you get a decent time slot. Hard to find cutlery and many times we would wait ages to get a spoon or a glass etc, which is annoying when you have a day planned down to the last minute!

Pool area looked nice, unfortunately, it was closed whilst we were there for maintenance, however, I was informed of that before booking, so that was fine with me. Can honestly say though, I do not know when we would have had time to fit it in anyway!

The breakfast included was continental. If you wanted a cooked breakfast you had to pay extra.

The main restaurant (buffet) in the evening had a strange idea: you had to decide whether you wanted a 2 or 3 course meal then you had to get all courses at once, cover hot food with special covers to try to keep them warm and pay for everything at once!

The hotel was situated just over 5 minutes ride on the courtesy bus from the disney parks.

There was no entertainment but the heated swimming pool with slide and towel hire and the indoor kids soft play area were very good.

We went to this hotel in September and found it totally chaotic. Breakfast was a nightmare people arguing and fighting over food, in the end we took breakfast to our room just for the peace. Another tip don’t buy food in here you get really ripped off.

Staff were unhelpful and the only good thing going for it was it was clean and near to Disney.

Would not stay there again.

My boyfriend and I found this hotel wonderful and would definately recommend it.

We were 19 and 17 when we went and would especially recommend it to young couples or families.

The pool was excellent, the rooms were spotless and the food was above average. eg. cereal and toast was provided for kids as well as full English breakfast.

the only problem was the hotel was based 5 mins away from the park so we had to get a train there every day. There are bars and shops on site but no real evening entertainment.

The staff all spoke very good English and were very helpful but could be slow on departure and arrival days.

All in all this is what you would expect from a disney hotel- it is very expensive but well worth the money.

We stayed here in a family group for a long weekend. On arrival we found our booking had been messed up and there was a lot of waiting around and discussion with the staff to try to sort things out. We had 6 children ranging from just 6 weeks old to 8yrs old all of whom were tired and hungry after a very early start and about 5 hours on various trains and then an afternoon around DLP. Not to mention a very tired new Mum (must have been mad!). The booking was eventually sorted out by an upgrade although they originally insisted that we would have to pay for the upgrade - we soon put them right on that score! The problems included waiting for nearly 3/4 hour to get access to our luggage which had been transported from the station while we went directly into the park, all because the member of the staff with the key wanted a break, a cigarette and to text his mates.

The hotel itself was amazing although with a rather strange layout which meant certain lifts only went to certain floors and as our party was now spread around the hotel there was lots of lift changing and walking to get to each others rooms. The children loved the swimming pool although we found it hard to find the time to fit a swim in. The rooms were clean and well equiped, and there is a good bar and small shop.

Now, the breakfast... It is a total bun fight and I use this term wisely. You have to try and get to the breakfast as early as possible to get a chance of finding anything to eat - they start running out of basics very quickly. Also they don't seem to have enough staff to cope with the numbers of people so the self-service area starts to look like a bomb site and the tables are not cleaned. It is also therefore quite hard to find somewhere to sit, especially if you are a largish group.

Lastly location... DLP was only a short (10 min) bus ride away and the buses went very frequently. This seemed just as good as any of the "in the magic" and was never a problem.

Overall, the staff did their best in uncertain circumstances - didn't always seem to know what they could and couldn't do. The hotel had only recently opened so I hope that more recent visits will have gone more smoothly and some of the early glitches will have been resolved.
