The entertainment was great, the food was ok. The staff were as helpful as they could be and always full of smiles. We really enjoyed it. Great place to go!! We have now booked to go this year to southport pontins to try this one out. We loved prestatyn just not very much in the town itself. Lookin forward to going back to pontins this year even if its in southport. Fingers crossed we enjoy this holiday as much as the last!

| said: We come back yesterday from our Mon-Fri holiday after no longer being able to stand it! Some friendly staff, some not so! Location, near to beach & local town, some good cheap supermarkets, great to stock up on your fruit & veg!
Cleanliness: If I could give minus 10 I would! Was informed when we got there we had been given upgrade which sounded great @ reception, so in some ways we must have been lucky - think the upgrade meant we had double glazing, but can't complain it meant it was then quiet & warmer! When entering the room it was disgusting by far the worst we have ever seen! So went back to reception & asked if I could pay for upgrades but none were available, she did tell me to go and ask cleaners to clean but I said I would do it myself. Thouroughly bleeched everywhere & got rid of years worth of dirt around taps with some bleach & elbow grease! (Sounds far fetched but have got photos to prove it!) Left all cuttlery, dinner service etc in bleach over night & the dirt that came off was unbelievable! Felt bit better knowing my children could touch things! Really budget accomodation, when pulling out bed at 10.30pm on 1st night my partner sat on it & it fell through at the foot of the bed on one side & at where your head lies you had a decline so you could feel the blood rushing to your head (that was solved by placing seat cushion under mattress - slightly high up then but better) 2nd night was the same but they did TRY to fix! 3rd night they eventually fixed it but was terribly uncomfortable - slight decline but managable, springs sticking in back! Toilet seat was broke - they did fix. Wardrobe broken - did not fix. Heater in bathroom broke which they did fix. Spiders & web in t-pot & bread bin (sounds petty but it shows how long they had not been cleaned for) Built up mud on bathroom floor in corners. Black mould on seals around bath & sink. Thick dirt & dust on all skirting boards. Broken curtains. If it had been cleaned properly I could have overlooked but it was really bad on top of the BASSIC accomodation it made it look 100% worse!
Entertainment - Pool, disgustingly dirty, grime around edges & bits floating round in water. Bikes, expensive but great fun for the family. arcade - expensive. show bars - ok, kids loved dancing! Park - great fun for kids. Shows/Rides - expensive & not lrg variety.
Large - tasted watered down. Not large selection of drinks for kids - mainly fizzy drinks, which my kids do not normally have!
Food - ok in diner but not alot of choice & like being in school dinners. Takeaway - Chicken burger ordered, which was burnt & expensive on 2 occassions.
My partner said it was like being in prison & needless to say we would never go back!

I booked a 'Club' apartment and I dread to think what the budget would have been like. It was absolutely filthy on arrival and the cleaners had to come back in again. I couldn't be sure that the bedding had even been changed; cigarette butts. Plus flying ants every night went you returned to the apt. The beds were like prison beds - I would never, never visit there again. I complained but got no response. Manager was 'too busy' to talk to me.

The appartments were like a slum with think mould and dirt everywhere...There was lots of noise and fighting . There was dirty undreware thrown outside our appartment for the time we were there. Its the worst place Ive ever been. The best thing there is the WAY OUT and I hope that people will read this and hve the sence to spend their money else where. The shows are a joke wit people gettin drunk while their kids sleep on chairs. There is no entertainment for the kids the pool wasnt even opened for a day out of our stay. The place is a health hazzard and should be closed down.

E..very morning at 2am we were woken up by drunken revellers shouting outside your room, though security did do their best to calm things down the shop was very expensive which i guess you would expect at holiday resorts, the food in the restaraunts were reasonably priced,i definately wouldn't go back and i would say if you want a good holiday go somewhere else, wales is a beautiful place but pontins is not and i was very dissapointed by my experience of the place.

| said: Travelled to football tournament organised by SCI with 3 teams and 9 coaching staff and stayed at Pontins. Had read some reviews, some good and some bad so didn't know what to expect.
It's a bit outdated and not very pleasing to the eye and is like stepping back in a time warp.
We had one block for all our group, the rooms were not what we had expected but weren't the worst we've ever stayed in before.
Had bother with kids from other teams running riot and kicking football between the chalets to all hours of the morning, rang security about 4/5 times but nothing was done, so just had to put up with it.
The food was ok, but once again the decor was drab, the Queen Vic bar could do with a lick of paint and a really good clean and spruce up..
overall: I think Pontins should invest some money in this place, re vamp the chalets, canteen and bring them up to date, give the place a good clean, put in lcd tv's with satellite channels, new sofa beds and metal framed beds.. Should be able to do this at the nearest IKEA!!!!!
anyway, it wasn't all bad we came home winners!!

| said: We have just got back from a weekend at Pontins in Prestatyn at an event organised by Hard Rock Hell. Obviously i cant comment on the entertainment and facilities offered by Pontins as the Camp had been taken over by the company for the weekend. What i can comment about is the cleanliness of the apartments. In my opinion the accommodation we have just spent the weekend in was not fit for animals. It was disgustingly filthy.I had to wipe the wall down by one of the single beds because it was covered in boogies. The bathroom looked like it hadn`t been touched since it was built(probably in the 70`s)which i could have coped with had it been clean but on inspection we found that the outside of the toilet was covered in caked on vomit-and there were a couple of `lumps`on the floor. The bath plug was so matted with hair that the water took ages to drain away.I didnt dare look at the mattresses as we were condemned to staying for the weekend and needed to sleep, if we had seen the state of them on friday i don`t think we would have done so. The kitchen i have to say was reasonable and didn`t look like it had been fitted long ,but did not in any way make up for the rest of the flat. The icing on the cake was when, just before leaving, i took a closer look at the `paint mark` on the lounge mirror. It turned out to be a dried on lump of phlegm!! Having spoken to other people staying I don`t think ours was an isolated incident, all i can say is if you have any standards at all do not stay here.

How wrong can you be, i immeadiatley set to cleaning the appartment its dirty walls, floors, bathroom, etc the standards of cleanliness were diabolical, the toilet seat had been emulsioned in white,(which came off when wiped) and the seat was dirty, rusty, and broken, the dust on the television was clearer to see than the picture, and when i swept the carpet i had to send the children out because of the clouds of dust. The camp facilities were genaraly fine and clean although the bars did smell of wet dogs and the food avilable was of the standard you would expect for a british holiday camp.I would not return to any pontins site nor would i reccomend anyone else to go.

The Staff are very nice and i'm sure they try their best. We recieved our keys very quickly (no count down for keys!!)
The apartment was awful. The hot water tap didn't work in the bathroom and I had to use a saucepan to transfer hot water to the basin so I can have a wash!
The apartment was dirty and I cleaned it before allowing our son to sit down.
The TV arial was broke, so only had a fuzzy picture to watch.
The entertainment I could not tell you about really.
We went down on the first night but there are so many screaming kids running about you can't hear anything.
Would we go back?? never!!

| said: Arrived at around 1930 to Pontins, i was very scepticle about booking to stay with them but my missus persueded be that it would be fun for the kids. As we drove in i couldnt believe what i was seeing, the site looked like a 1980s council estate, with the accomodation blocks a bland grey colour surrounding a grassy area. When we got into our accomodation, i was shocked with the condition, the furniture was old damaged and dirty, worn carpet and stained curtains. I took my flip flops off and waled around for a bit - when i looked at my feet afterwards they were black from the dirt on the floor, it made feel sick. the bathroom was covered in mould, i couldnt even let the kids take their shoes off! We decided there and then to stay just for the night and then leave in the morning. We took a walk to the entertainment and as we walked in it stank of stale puke and stale booze - we jus t walked out.
I slept in my clothes as i didnt want to touch the bed clothes and first thing in the morning went to the reception, en route i saw to ladies fighting!
I went to the counter and told the lady that my apartment was disgusting and we were leaving today, the manager heard and came to see me. He took me into the back office (which was also quite dirty) and i explained to him also showing him my feet! He offered me a free upgrade which i declined and then all credit to him he gave me a full refund of £280.00 in cash. He was a great guy and explained that the resort had recently been purchased and no money was being spent on it.
We loaded our car up and left immediately, i would strongly advise you noe to stay here it is horrible and nothing like butlins or any othe rmodern holiday resort.

The location was ok, there is not much to do in Prestatyn but you can catch a bus outside pontins to rhyl which has plenty to do.

I can't really comment on the location as I didn't leave the site once all week everything you need was provided there. I did find the Londis shop on site quite expensive but everything else was quite reasonable.
Our chalet was very basic and was quite a dissapointment but it was at least clean. We were on a self catering holiday so didn't eat out in the hotel restaurants all though we did visit the fish and chip shop and found it's prices ridiculous.
All the staff were fantastic and very helpful you would be really hard pushed to find better. I went out everynight and was never back at the chalet befor 1 in the morning as the entertainment was brilliant both day and night.
I really do want to go back and maybe stay for 2 weeks as it was a brilliant holiday overall

The only problem i had was the opening times of the pool. Every child when on holidays want to swim well in to the night. Sadly it closes at 5pm. Evening entertainment could have started a little earlier. My kids are 1 and 3 and there bed time was 8pm as the were knackered and didnt have a chnce to see barney or any other kids entertainment. The bluecoats were very friendly and helpful. Rhyl is a town about 4 miles away for your breaks away from the holiday centre. Much to see and loads to do ( it looks like a mini blackpool)
Overall generally happy with my stay

| said: visited Pontins Prestatyn for February half term mid week break, was relatively cheap .
There are 3 classes of accommodation to chose from club (best),classic(middle),and budget. We stayed in classic no club available.
Firstly on arrival were unable to gain entry to our apartment as keyhole needed freeing up, not a good start with a crying baby waiting to get in.
Accommodation was very very basic, I dread to think what budget was like, it was not particulaly clean either, chairs were moulded plastic(like school chairs),sofa was thredbare and well worn.
Television did not get very good reception at all. There was a lack of cutlery and I had to request some more.
We were supposed to have duvets provided by pontins, but when we arrived there were none in our room.
Went streight to accommdation service centre to report this and was told some would be delivered later. 5pm still no duvets, this was again reported and same answer given.
7pm still not arrived, went back to the centre to be told that I would not be recieving any duvets as they did not have any. I could not believe they would leave children without covers in February.
After speaking with management I eventually recieved 2 duvets between 5 people.Which meant 3 of us had to share 1 duvet and 2 anouther.
Reported situation next day and did recieve an apology plus compensation and matter sorted. However the situation realy spoilt the start of our holiday.
Visited canteen for breakfast it was ok, and they did a deal buy two breakfasts get 2 kids brekfasts for 1p each.
Location was ok and it was easy to get buses to other resorts
Hotel staff were generally polite, although the accomadation service centre need to employ staff who can understand english and who are able to deal with peoples problems.
Day manager (forgotten name) was very good at diffusing a very angry holiday maker (me) and dealing with complaint.
Entertainment was quite good what you would expect from a holiday camp.
Activities provided for older children good, my children enjoyed climbing and abseiling.
Did quiet enjoy our break after the bad start. You have to make the most of things I would have gone home only the children would have been disapointed.

The wallpaper was dirty and the furniture was tired. I have to say that I was surprised as the company kept the main building and the grounds spotless, yet let themselves down by letting out dirty chalets. While I was there, they emptied my bin once in seven days and for someone who is self catering and would have food waste, that is a hygiene problem.
I went self catering, but found the food on the site rather expensive. Much easier to go to Spar on the High Street and buy the food cheap then take it back to the site. Having said that, on the few occasions I did buy the food, it was nice.
The site isn't far from the beach but because of the fence round the site, it can take a good 10 minutes on foot to get there. It is a good 20 minutes from the town centre and the Nova centre. There is a golf course just across the road and a few activities on the site, but not much else nearby to do.
The staff were pleasant enough, but on the one occasion that I needed to ask directions to somewhere nearby, they weren't able to help.
There isn't much to do for adults during the day but plenty of activities for children. At night, there was cabaret on but I felt that they were scraping the bottom of the barrel and put on cheap acts that were not much good. The entertainment is aimed at children until about 9.00 pm and once the adult entertainment starts, it doesn't last very long. I also found that after the entertainment had finished, it was extremely noisy. The chalet walls are very thin and you could hear every noise outside. I was frequently woken by drunks singing.
I also needed to remortgage my house to pay the bar bill. Very expensive.
