| said: Had a fantastic time at the playa mar, the hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the Thomsons team were the best I've come across, always full of enthusiasm and genuinely looked happy to be there.
I emailed the hotel in advance to request a quiet room and that is exactly what we got in block 2. The rooms are well sized, plenty of wardrobe space, maybe a little lacking in the kitchen if you like to cook a meal but we only used the kettle and fridge, we're on holiday after all.
The pool is great, starting from the walk in area and gradually getting deeper into the larger area where the water polo was played and then a deep pool as well. Although it was the height of the season in August I never felt it was too busy. There were some reports of early sunbed reserving before we arrived but throughout our stay the beds were piled up and chained overnight and were unlocked about 8ish each morning. I often saw beds available well past 9 which is considerably better than a lot of places I've stayed at.
My first impression of the restaurant was that it would be too small but with a mix of self catering and half board it was never over crowded. We booked self catering and paid whenever we used the restaurant which turned out to be cheaper than going out and the kids ate better. The food is the usual buffet you get in Spain, plenty of it and lots of variety, except for the desserts which could have done with a bit more variation.
The location was okay for us as booking independently we had a car. However, it is a good 20 min walk to the centre and I wouldn't have attempted it with our 5 year old. The beach close to the hotel is tiny and doesn't offer anything except a sunbed or two and the main beach is the other side of the centre so a taxi or bus is required. Having said that we did have the use of the car and chose not to use it as the kids clubs and entertainment at the hotel was so good.

the hotel is abot five minutes stroll from the beach
which is great but a little longer to walk to shops and restaurants great if the weather is okay.
the hotel staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly.
the entertainment was brilliant, somthing on every day for the children.
On an evening after the childrens disco the entertainment was brilliant especially elvis and westlife tribute!
the entertainers chloe and ryan were fab!!! very good with children and natural entertainers a credit to thompson!
if we visit pollensa again we will definitley return here.
the only negative if you can call it that was the weather on some days was a little cool and their is no heating in the apartments but hey everything else makes up for it.
I would like to add that we booked this holiday very last minute as we had booked to go to an iberostar hotel in alcudia with a different holiday company but were let down by the hotel three days before departure as the hotel decided to close, which worked out better for us in the end! what a find the playa mar is!!

| said: This was our first visit to Majorca and what a pleasant surprise. The hotel was classy & clean. The room was spacious but with an 18 yr old and 15 yr old possibly sleeping arrangements were a little cramped but they had no complaints. The kitchen was small but all we wanted was to prepare breakfast as we like to eat out every night, plenty of room in the fridge. There was plenty of sun loungers around the pool and the entertainment was there if you wanted it. Ideal for families with small children as they were well looked after and catered for.Good fun for us as onlookers. All the hotel staff were pleasant and had good English, made us quite lazy not having to try out our Spanish. Pool bar well equipped with drinks and lunchtime snacks, bacon roll recomended!
The hotel was on the outskirts of the main resort which was great for us. It took a leisurely 15 - 20 min walk along the pine promenade along the seafront to walk into town. Plenty of bars and restaurants to chose from. We even walked back on a couple of nights the walk is so pleasant. I found very little to fault really. Loved the island, loved the hotel, staff very obliging and pleasant including the very energetic reps. My hat comes off to them all! Entertaining kids is no mean feat day in day out.

| said: This is our third visit to the Playa Mar and hopefully not our last.
The aparthotel is lovely . The rooms are spacious and clean, cleaners come in 6 days out of 7 and towels and beds changed about 5 times a week. Bedroom is large with plenty of wardrobe space. Living area is spacious. Kitchen on the small side but has everything you need, fine for what use we made of it as ate out all the time.Air Con is great. All rooms have a large balcony.
Reception area spotless and huge. Reception staff all speak english are friendly and cannot do enough to help.
Did not use restaraunt but poolside snack bar has lovely food.
Pool is huge and pool area spotless clean. Pool never overcrowded even at busy times of day as it is so big.
Only downside is having to get up early to get sunbeds but there is no way around this to keep everyone happy.
Hotel has small supermarket which sells everything you can think of.
Hotel is at quiet end of Puerto Pollensa in a residential area at the end of the Pine Walk, this walk into the resort centre is beautiful and makes the holiday for me. No good for heels tho as cobbled.
Cannot comment on entertainment as did not watch any of it as were going into resort centre every night, However there were shows on every night.
Perfect for families no good for couples as full of kids.

| said: What a wonderful holiday! We had a great time and will definitely be returning.
We booked the flights and the accommodation separately which worked out slightly cheaper but came across a problem because we booked flights for 11 nights but could only book Playa Mar for 14 nights - Thomsons fault not the Playa Mar.
Although we had booked self catering we did buy half board tickets for all of our stay because the food in the hotel was so great. There was plenty of choice for the children and for my husband who is a vegetarian.
We did stay around the hotel for most of the holiday because we joined in, perhaps reluctantly at first, with the activities on site. The children loved this and we all had loads of fun.
All the Thomson and hotel staff were fantastic and gave 100%, with a special mention going out to Cheeky Charlie and Impey, who were absolutely excellent. The entertainment on site was great, whether by visiting acts or the Thomson team.
We had no problems with sunbeds, or queuing for the restaurant but this was probably because we went out of season but there were still people reserving sunbeds from early morning and not turning up all day!
We went on one excursion, which was to the Pirate show. This was great and well worth doing. We booked with Thomson because it was only marginally cheaper to book through the hotel staff and they seemed unsure as to the details of the pick up times. Had a Thomson rep on hand all the time during the trip there was singing and games on the coach, making even the coach journey part of the fun.
The only bad points during our stay: the bar prices were very high; also as guests were leaving they left their inflatables in large boxes which were located outside each block. This was great because there was loads of variety for the kids to play with in the pool but early one morning, a member of the hotel ground staff was spotted slashing all of them with a knife and taking them away - what a waste! A few of us complained about this but I would recommend that if you spot something in one of the boxes that you would like to rescue, take it up to your apartment overnight and bring it back out during the day!
Apart from those minor points we had an excellent time.

| said: We arrived at 4am and the only thing that disappointed us for the duration of our stay was that we could not get milk for a cup of tea! After the flight and bus ride to the resort, it would have been great to have a cup of tea then go to bed. Maybe the hotel could sell a small amount of tea, coffe etc for overnight arivals.
The apartment was spotless and welcoming, the kitchen area is minute and not the best if you plan to cook all meals there.
We did not have any kids with us, but if we had I know I would have thrown in the towel and ate out as the cramped cooking facilities would have driven me mad. On the subject of food, we ate in the hotel dinning area most nights and it was fine. Perhaps a bit repeditive but on the whole for 12 euros each, ok.
The hotel is situated about 20 mins walk from the town, but there are different ways to get there. Its only 10 mins walk along the road or 20 mins walk along the beach front. This walk is beautiful to stroll along and the views are stunning across the bays.
I agree I would not like to push a pram along the Pine Walk as its called, as the path is cobbled and uneven. We often hired a bike and rode into town, this was such a laugh and a great way to see things off the usual track.(5 mins ride into town) Taxi service is excellent and at 4-5 euros, not a bank breaker by any means.
We enjoyed the fact that the hotel was just out of the buzz of the town. The pool area and snack bar are clean and absolutely fine. Sunbeds are not meant to be reserved but they are! Its annoying to see towels on beds and not a soul near them for hours. Once mentioned to hotel staff the towels are removed so its not that much of a problem really, just a minor irritation.
It was quiet-ish while we were there but suitable to us.Dont think I could hack it high season but then our kids are grown up and we are away from the noise and stuff of kiddies. The mix was just right for our tatses.
The hotel staff generally all speak good english and communication was fine. They all worked long hard hours and never once looked glum. Everyone was helpful and the Reps were always on hand and very helpful. No comments other than that, everyone was great.
Entertainment wasn't great for adults but fine for kids. The acrobatic cats were fab, but other than that we sought our entertainment elswhere. The bars close earlish but that wasnt too much of a gripe. We didnt take part in any excursions preferring to explore by ourselves. We cycled into Pollenca ( hard going!) and were bowled over by it aucinticity and charm. Well worth a visit.
We also went to Alcudia which is very cheap by bus from town and worth a visit. There are lots of local places of interest to explore if you look. Id recommend shopping at the supermarket called Caprebo not far from the resort as its well priced and varied.
Local shops are a rip off. Water is much much cheaper in this shop so be aware.
We would go back to Playa Mar in a heartbeat, but at the same time of year and not high season. I imagine it being too busy and noisy but fine for couples with kiddies and those who seek a busy atmosphere.

Hotel is spotless, Hotel staff are 1st class, Maid service is great.
Although Self Catering, we had breakfast once, excellent choice and very good standard.
Location of hotel is OK, the Pine walk did get a bit tedious after two weeks, that is my only moan.
Thomson Entertainers excellent, however, adult entertainment left a lot to be desired!!
SUNBEDS - Not an issue, the only problem is the amount of space on the pool side to put them. Apparantly, they shipped a load more beds in the day before we arrived. Get your umbrellas early though.
A thoroughly enjoyable holiday was had by all the family, and we would return.

| said: We visited the Playamar last July, when we booked a Late Deal 4T through Thomson, and were that impressed, we wanted to come back again. However, it was going to be £2109 for 2 adults, 1 child & 1 infant, so we booked a flight with bmibaby, booked the room with Thomson accomodation only and booked a taxi sepreately for £1280. You are still entitled to use the kids clubs and facilities, and also goto the welcome meeting and book any excursions through Thomson. Our eldest loves the kids clubs, and her day was made on the last day when she won a Thomson the dog backpack.
I have to say that Charlie & Tracey do an excellent job keeping everybody entertained during the day, but agree with other posts here that the family entertainment after the kids disco on an evening leaves a lot to be desired. Two shows of acrobats (people dressed as cats & others were africans) along with two blokes who came as the Blues Brothers and then a few nights later as Teddy Boys. Not very impressive considering this is a family complex and I don`t think many kids would appreciate 50`s & 60`s music or Blues. Last year they had an Abba tribute, which at least got everyone up dancing, and 5 lads doing recent boy band songs, which at least kids know the songs. The rep show, New York to New Orleans, was the same as last years.
Totally agree with the sunbed / parasol situation, although I went to the pool at 8.30 every morning and found them to be unlocking the sunbeds at this time and quite easily got the same spot every morning we stayed by the pool, but there is an absolute need for more parasols. Thomson get your finger out and buy a few more sunbeds and a load more parasols, and while you are at it, replace the round backed chairs around the entertainment area, because the number of kids who fell backover on them (a few trapping their fingers) was over the 30 mark over 2 weeks. Ok, they should sit on them properly, but kids are kids. There didnt seem to be a problem with the square backed ones, they seemed more sturdy.
Apartments were again spotless. Our TV aerial was hanging out the wall, giving a poor reception, but on reporting it, it was fixed the following morning. Maids come 5 times a week and very friendly.
The pools are excellent. Small 0.30 metre deep pool for toddlers and a huge split level pool for everyone else which has a really shallow end before going under a bridge where it gets deeper.
I have to disagree with others about the distance to town. Yes it is a good 20-25 minute walk, but if you fo along the Pine Walk, I would hardly call it boring. Stunning views across the bay to town and also across to Port Alcudia, and past some extremely grand looking private homes and apartments, along with the odd little beach here and there.
The main beach is in the centre of town, but there are loads of little beaches in front of the Pine Walk, and the one we like best is just in front of the Illia Dòr hotel. Nicely shaded by the trees and wall during the morning, and the water is the right depth to walk out quite a way and still be able to let the kids have a swim. Again, just sitting on the beach here looking at the views of Puerto Pollensa, Alcudia and the mountains is good enough for me. If you do want to get a taxi to the centre, then it is 4.50euros or 5 if the driver decides he wants to rip you off (but ends up ripping himself off as he didnt get a tip, whereas the 4.50 ones did !!!)
There is a nice Tex-Mex restaurant along the Pine Walk (also one in the main square, but we like the Pine Walk one best), and various Indian, Chinese & Italian restaurants around town (mainly the square), but we did eat in the Playamar restaurant a few times and our 2 kids love eating in there. The food is nice enough, and if you are not half board, then it is 12euros for an adult evening meal and 8euros for a child, buffet style.
There is a tennis court behind the pool bar. The pool bar serves various snacks during the day, but we were disappointed that one day we waited over 30 mins for our order and when it did come, the jacket potato was rock hard, so we took it back and walked off (bar manager appeared to be unhappy at one of his staff, who looked as though he was new), but this was a one off as other days it was very nice.
If you do have a car, then it is far cheaper to shop at the supermarket just as you come into Puerto Pollensa (on the roundabout opposite the boat yard). We didn`t have a car, but hired bikes and managed to somehow get our shopping back to the apartments without dropping it all.
We don`t normally go back to the same resort, let alone the same hotel / apartments, but as we were taking my parents along with us, we wanted somewhere we knew would have lifts, be clean and generally flat. So, in that respect, we couldn`t pay the Playamar a higher compliment.

| said: I travelled with my husband & 6 year old daughter. The hotel was spotless; cleaners were in nearly every other day and towels changed ever other day. We hired a car for the 2 weeks just as well as the walk to town was too long and boring. I cooked a couple of time in the apartment kitchen equipment was adequate although the freezer could have been defrosted before we arrived as it was full of hard ice. We ate out most nights in the resort and further a field due to the fact we had the car. We also ate in the hotel a couple of times, on both occasions it was a bit boring. Kids club was good and my daughter really enjoyed it.
Pool side was clean, could do with emptying the bins around the pools a few times during the day to stop the wasps which were quite bad if you were unfortunate to get a sun bed near the bin. With regard to sun beds this was a joke you has to be up and down stairs at 7.45 to wait on the beds being unchained. People the put towels on them and disappeared until the middle of the afternoon. The reps did say that they would go round and take towels off beds which were not being used. I saw this happen only once. As for parasols Thomson need to invest some money and buy some more. There is not enough to go round. We had to go and buy one.
Entertainment at night was terrible. My daughter always wanted to go to the mini disco which started at 8.30 to 9.15. After that the so called family entertainment started. We had 2 shows that lasted 1½ hrs of acrobats. 2 shows done by the same people doing Rock shows a magical show and the rest of the time the Thomson reps did the entertainment, which consisted mostly of the Kids entertainment reps and was terrible. The Kids reps were fantastic with the kids but should stay away from entertaining the adults. Thomson should seriously look at what they consider entertainment.
We took in 2 trips the Pirate show and the Thomson Mega day to the Western water park. They were expensive it worked out at £209. for the three of us, both trips were enjoyed by us. Word of warning the Pirate show is very loud with explosion sound effects etc at the start and nearly scared the living day light out of my daughter. She did eventually calm down and enjoyed the show. She even got her pictures with some of the pirates.
All in all we had a good holiday but would not go back to this hotel. Too far out and entertainment dreadful.

| said: My Husband and I chose this Hotel for our Daughter who's 2.5 yrs old.
The Hotel is absolutely spotless, the towels and sheets changed frequently, the staff are really friendly and helpful.
The Thomson staff are great.
One complaint of mine was the nightly entertainment.Totally crap. The kids entertainers, entertained the adults most nights ,which was awful. Thomson should put decent acts on and keep the kids entertainers solely for the kids, which they were good at.
The walk into town was 20 minutes without another bar in sight, so if you stopped in the hotel,it got really annoying watching the reps trying to be funny.
The pine walk into town was nice and pretty but it got a little tedious after a while. The cobble stones were hard to push a buggy over.We walked about 8 times during our stay of 14 days then we resorted to a taxi's costing around 5 euro's.
We love walking as a family, but i was glad we were half board, people who were self catering chose to eat in the hotel as they didn't want to walk the distance to town and the taxi costs soon added up.Its just too far out of town, with no bars to nip out to for a change of scenery.
The food was nice, got abit repetitive towards the end of our stay, so we ate out a few times, but no complaints there.
The sunbeds are a laugh though,we had our room facing over the pools. The janitor unlocks the beds around 8 ish.
People were sat on chairs for 30 mins or longer waiting for him to arrive to grab a bed.
So if you like sunbathing by the pool, be ready to get your towels on,however the thomson rep did on mumerous occasions take them all off. Its alot quieter on the beach,as it does get noisy with all the music and entertainment going on through the day.
We made some good friends, but i wont go back again, its too far away from town,a little too noisy and the entertainment was horrendous.
Just one last thing. We booked 2 trips, one was pirates, really good but expensive for what it is,travelling on the coach took well over an hour there and the same coming back.
The next trip was marineland, that was good, but that was about an hour aswell.Looking through the brochure,it says under 3's are free but we paid £23 for our daughter,so it must have been for the coach journey. The hotel has offers on rental cars,so adding it up, we would have got there alot cheaper if we had rented a car for 75 euro's and driven down to see pirates and the marineland ourselves.
Overall we had a nice holiday, but watch for that pine walk!!!.

The Thomson reps are also fantastic and very hard working.
After some fairly mediocre meals in town-
-(a good half hours march along the Pine Walk-
this is good exercise and will keep the weight down.)
We tried the hotel half board option-pay at reception-
about 275 euros for four-one child -for five days.
The breakfasts are fine-good in fact. The evening meals
are crap however I think the chef was sacked when we were there as the meals improved after our five days were up. I Would suggest you ask other guests when you arrive and then take it from there. I would emphasize again all the staff at this hotel are top notch.
What makes this hotel are the staff -HOTEL AND THOMSON-who cannot do enough for you but above all the other guests usually all with young children.
Friendships are formed in a really good atmosphere
and youngsters have a great time.
The only pain is the sunbed or in this case parasol nonsense. The fault is not WITH THE GUESTS.More parasols should be available(I had to buy one).
People are behaving normally when there is not enough of an item. So come on THOMSON SPEND £100 OR SO AND GET SOME MORE PARASOLS.
To summarise if you want a good hotel with no lager louts etc then look no further I will probably return
as I hope will the great crowd I met when I was there.

Reps tried hard but were very amateur. Breakfasts were OK but the evening meals were dire, cold, unappetising and basically very very poor, a local greasy spoon could serve better.
If you arrived late in the dining room there was food under the tables which had been dropped by previous diners. The bar closed at 11.30prompt and you were made to feel very unwelcome if you outstayed that time.
The walk into town is very tedious after the first few days, we ended up getting taxis into town which of course added to the cost.
The supermarket belonging to the apartments is so small that it could only take about 2 customers at a time, ridiculous considering the amount of people staying on a self catering basis.
One the whole very poor for a so called Super Family resort. Never again!

| said: We have just got back from this hotel, and it has been a huge disappointment as we were very excited because of the good reviews this hotel has got.
When we got to our room on the first day we had sewage coming from the bath. We reported this to the rep who reluctantly gave us another room with faced a brick wall right next to entertainment which kept us up most of the night, we were assured that the problem in our previous room had been resolved - the pipes had been cleaned and the room completely disinfected. We moved back to room as this was the only room left.
We were half board and the food was very basic, but o.k until our second week when a surge of people arrived, we had to queue to get into the restaurant, and then told we had a 30 min wait most evening to eat obviously with a 4 year old and 1 year old this was unacceptable as they were over tired. By the time we managed to eat the food had also ran out by the time we got there.
Our room then flooded from the ceiling above causing water to over flow into the living room and our daughter to slip and bang her head, the maintenance came and insisted for us to move rooms but the receptionist man told us there were no room available and that he was too busy. They fixed the problem and cleaned our room, but then on on the 3rd day before we were due to leave sewage again was brewing from the bath and overflowing the toilet - human waste was spilling from the bathroom into the living area and bedroom the smell was the bad the rep couldn't come into our room without heaving, this also happened to room next door.
We were moved to another room that evening and out to our surprise they had moved new guests into our old room. I am would be surprised if they had fixed the sewage problem or had time to clean room properly. I am still feeling ill at the thought of this hotel and I would advise anyone with children to stay away.
The hotel is to small to cope - the restaurant is over packed and the capacity is too much for the drains. It is a 20 minute walk to the main town so self catering is a difficult option for most.
The noise in the hotel is a bit over whelming as well the entertainment is on till 12.00 and getting to sleep before then is impossible.

Have never spent so much time in a complex, did not want to go elsewhere, as we had such a great time. Loads of activities during the day, most organised by annabelle who was great fun, the water activity being the best, and the poolside quiz.
Have not got young children, but could see that the kids club was enjoyed by all and their helpers were all good fun.
Found it a bit far from the main resort, so we eat at the complex 12 times and found the buffet to be fantastic with lots to offer, (must have changed something looking at other reviews).
Only had one meal not up to standard and that was when the main chef was off. All the staff were fantastic, except for the Thompson reps, who never advised of the new arrival meeting until we had been there four days, the only time they seemed happy was inthe rep show.
Would not hesitate to return again.

Playa Mar is spotlessly clean and the service from the staff has improved over the years.
There are many excellent restaurants in the town and wouldn’t recommend the hotel food which is just o.k.
The town centre is 20mins walk down the beautiful Pine Walk.
The entertainment is really a mixed bag ranging from the awful rep show to the excellent Abba again. Some Thomson’s reps looked bored hanging around the reception area and could learn a lesson or two from Annabel the entertainments rep who worked her socks off and was excellent.
Any gripes are really minor. We will definitely return!

The Playa Mar is an excellent hotel!!! It could have done with some paint work to brighten up the place a bit, but other than that it is a very clean hotel!
The location was okay and it was fairly quiet, the only thing was that it was quite a walk to get to shops and restaurants. If you enjoy walks along the sea front with boats and a few hotels on the other side, then you'll be fine every night, unless you eat in the restaurant in the hotel, which is fine, although could do with a little more variety.
The hotel staff were lovely and always tried their best!
The entertainment was very good for the children as there was a disco every night for them, usually with "Thomson the dog". After the kids disco they did the awards for the daily activities(which there were quite alot of). Next they would have a professional show (e.g Abba who were very good, a magician or some other tribute act).
I would recommend families or young and older couples who like children to go here. I hope I will be back to Puerto Pollensa soon!!

| said: Visited the Playa Mar in July with our 2 year old daughter. The apartments were very clean and modern.
The staff were very accommodating and friendly.
The pools were excellent, especially the toddler pool which had a graduated slope. Unfortunately like most places these days you have to get up early to get a sunbed !
The pool side bar served a variety of meals.
We didn't use the hotel restaurant because we would have to pay child prices for our 2 year old and there's no way she would have eaten 8 EUR worth of food ! and if she dined with us we had to pay for her.
Entertainment was good with mostly professional shows every night (sometimes 2+ per night). Saw an excellent Abba tribute band there which everyone got up and danced to.
The apartments themselves are a bit of a walk (approx 20-25 mins) from Puerto Pollensa. It's a bit of a trek in the baking heat, but a beautiful stroll along the Pine Walk every evening.
Would recommend these apartments, but not if you don't like a good walk !
Would definitely stay there again.

The apartment was a decent size. The kitchen, though small, was plenty big enough for our requirements. The maid service was good and any staff we came into contact with were very helpful.
We did not see much of the entertainment as we spent a lot of time in Puerto Pollensa, but we did see Abba Again, who were brilliant.

| said: WOW what can I say??? After booking this holiday six months before we were really looking forward to our first superfamily holiday, if not a little apprehensive. But there was nothing to fear it was the holiday of a lifetime!!!
The children were in tears when it was time to leave!
The thomson kidzone reps were unbelievable every morning about 9.00 they would pass us at the pool full of smiles saying hello to everyone working right through the day (and night!).
The clubs for the children were fantastic and the reps got us all involved. They even put on extra clubs in there own time to cope with the demand.
The kidzone gang went beyond the call the of duty constantly the rep in charge miar was a credit to Thomson really interested in everything and fantastic with the kids.
Also gillian jolly you have to meet her to believe it was fantastic at here job as were the other girls.
So if you are off to the playa mar you wont be disapointed xxxxx thanx for a fantastic time xxxx

| said: The hotel is very clean and apartments have all the things needed for a basic self catering holiday.
The entertainment at the hotel needs a little change...as its a superfamily you have the usual mini disco then prizes for the day and a show...these can be very mixed in quality. Although Annabel is very good at her job during the day..the other Animaction Rep Daz...is a waste and just seems to go through the motions at times..
All the staff in the hotel are great and very helpful.
But this year the majority of the Thomsons Reps are new and as such a little less knowledgeable about things.
All in all you cant really go wrong if you are off to here with young kids..apart from the fact as has been stated before it is a far way from town..around 25 min walk..

| said: An excellent all round hotel, I would not hesitate to return.
Entertainment could have done with a little more during the day for non kiddie club age children and the reps shows at night were not the best but they tried hard.
The pool was also very good and the free form kiddie section meant they could walk in themselves without us worrying about the depth etc.
Hotel is 20/25 min walk from resort centre but a very pleasant stroll, as the hotel is a little out of town it does not suffer from noise etc from surrounding bars, discos.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to all families looking for a good standard of hotel.

| said: The Playa Mar was surprisingly very good given that we were on a Thomson Superfamily holiday.
We would normally stay in 4/5 star hotels but now that we have a 4 year old daughter we had to do what was best for her. We went during term time in May so the majority of kids were under 5. The kids club for this age group is on daily from 10am to 12pm. Our daughter went every day and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were late teens and a lot of fun. Various games took place around the pool throughout the day with a kiddies disco at night from 8.30 to 9.15.
The apartments were spotless with nice furniture. The 'kitchen' was unbelievably small (it's really cupboard size) and had no storage for food. Although alright for one week this would stop me from coming back.
We asked for a quiet room (not overlooking the pool) and got that but there were repairs being done to the villas behind us which produced a lot of noise.
The food was very disappointing both in the restaurant and the bar. For a complex this large they really should do something about this.
Staff were nice and the adult entertainment okay.
We had a great holiday but wouldn't go back again. Would do something similar in Puerto Pollensa but try another aparthotel.

Arriving at 1am all holidaymakers had been allocated their rooms within 30 minutes. The apartment was spotless as was the whole complex.Whilst we were on a self-catering basis, we only used the restaurant a few times, the food being good but a little limited in variety. The location of the hotel was excellent,no main road traffic nor surrounded by high-rise apartments, bars or discos'.The Pinewalk to Pollensa is nearby, a pleasant 25 minute stroll, or in my case a 35 minute limp due to walking difficulties. The hotel staff, including the Thomson reps., could not be bettered. Cannot comment on the entertainment as we were out most nights. We will holiday at this hotel again - everything is sheer Quality.

The children are 2 and 6 and we could relay in the knowledge that they where in a safe and friendly envoirament.
The hotel was spotless and the food was excellent as we didn't eat the same meal twice in 10 days. The choice available was also excellent.
The only downside I would say was I thought there could have been a little more entertainment for adults in the evenings but we are still going back next year.

| said: We stayed at the Playa Mar, Puerto Pollensa and found the overall complex very clean and well maintained.
The hotel staff were polite and helpful as were the Thomson reps. The apartments were fantastic with rooms being cleaned almost daily.
The only slight niggle about the rooms was the size of the kitchen which was tiny and not practical for self-catering if you wanted to cook something instead of eating out. The pool was excellent and very clean. We liked the fact that nobody could put their towels out on the sunbeds before 10.00am unless they were with them constantly as this stopped the best sunbeds being reserved by people who didn't use them until later.
The reps put on really good shows for the children in the evenings and waiter service for the outside area was fantastic. What we also found great was the fact that they let you drink your own wine/bottles of beer that you had bought in town at the seating areas outside whilst watching the entertainment as this made it a cheaper night (they even provided the glasses!!).
Will definately return.

| said: Have been here for the past 2 years, and think it is absolutely brilliant. The walk into town although nearly a mile, is a lovely walk - very picturesque.
If you go here, stop for breakfast at the Illa D'or which is excellent although reasonably expensive, but sitting by the sea (with the kids feeding the fish) and eating an excellent English breakfast, with friendly service, is a great start to the day.
The apartments are very clean, a little small, but moer than adequate. The complex is constantly being cleaned - and the gardener is always working - generally a lovely place.
In comparison to other Thomson Superfamily hotels - this is the best I have seen, including the BonAire which does not have such a beautiful resort to go with it.
One other thing, don't go half board, the food in the canteen is lousy, and the restaurants up in the town (and Little Italy on the way) are excellent.

| said: Myself (17/female) and my parents just arrived home from staying at the playa mar apartments on the 16th of august 2002.
We spent 2 weeks at this destination and had a fantastic holiday.
The surrounding area is very pittoresque with its mountain views and green vegetation (Dont worry, its not a jungle of high rise buildings like most resorts).
Playa mar is situated on the outskirts of puerto pollensa and is about a 25min walk to the centre so we tended to get a taxi on an evening to and from the town (taxis are ordered for you by the reception on request). A taxi cost us between 4 and 4.5 euros to the town centre which is about £2.40/£2.70, very cheap!
The are many bars and restaurants available to chose from and although we tried many, we found Maxim's (on the square), Tango's and Trio's to be the best.
We spent a few nights in the Rovers Return (an english bar) as it has good facilities such as a pool table, dart board (the only one we found) and an internet service (1 euro per 10 mins).
The beach is very close to the playa mar apartments (just over the road) although if you want a good spot with a large stretch of sand you will have to walk for about 5-10 mins along the pine walk but we found this a pleasent walk!
The apartments themselves are very spacious with both the lounge and bedroom leading out onto the balcony. The kitchen was a little small but was still adequate for the time we spent in it and included all facilities needed (microwave, kettle, toaster etc...)
There is a satellite TV but most channels are either german or spanish. We found there to be only 3 english channels...a pop channel, News/weather channel and Euro sport.
The maids were supposed to come in 3 times a weeks but we found they came in nearly every day so apartments were kept very clean!
Staff in the complex were very friendly and bar staff appreciate it if you try and order in spanish ( we had a great laugh trying to ...even though i have been learning spanish for 5 years I made my parents order....they sounded half chinese!) Food served at the bar was very nice but after trying the buffet on an evening, we didnt eat again in the restaurant, we went else where!
The pool was large with several different depths for all abilities an i found the water to be quite warm and a great way to cool off!
We made use of both the pool tables and table tennis in the hotel as well as an occasional visit to the indoor pool (which was very cold), steam bath and gym.
We stayed in the complex to watch the entertainment on 2 evenings (battle of the sexes and the reps caberet) both of which were very amusing and we ended up doing a conga on one occasion around the pool.
Overall, our holiday was a success and i would return in the future!

I would reitterate what most people have said in that we found the apartments themselves large and very clean although the kitchen area was a little crampt.
It is a long walk to the centre of Puerto Pollenca but we would agree that it is a very attractive walk along the sea front and all the hotels, restaurants and bars.
So if you are going there I don't think you'll have many concerns except be prepared to walk!
A very nice clean and tidy complex.

Nothing for teenagers at all though , but Kelly made loads of friends. You need a car here because its a long ways from the decent shops and supermarkets(bags get very heavy).Note that apt shop is closed sundays.. Apts were spotless and roomy.Bar area small but entertainment was top class. Pool cleaned daily , cold, but very nice. No problems with lack of sunbeds.Puerto Pollensa is a lovely place, not tacky like Alcudia seems to have got, nice and more up market. The tree lined walk to the centre is really nice in the early mornings and evening especially.Beach in P.P is fantastic. Walking shoes are a must here. We are going back here sometime soon to these same apartments
