| said: An ideal holiday with three children under 11. Relaxing, but also with plenty to do, if you felt like doing it. Not cheap, but on the all-inclusive package (lunch was included by the travel agent for booking before March) there was very little extra that needed to be paid for. A direct flight from our local Southampton Airport to Alghero made the travel arrangements very easy.
Packed-out in August, and despite an occasional air of slight chaos it was in reality a surprisingly slick operation to get all guests through mealtimes. As a family of five (one more than the European standard) we never had to wait long for a table. Food is mainly on a buffet basis and good rather than brilliant, with enough variety (just) to see us through two weeks without too much deja vu. Complementary table wine perfectly reasonable. For a change from the main "Nautilus" restaurant, it's worth making early efforts to book tables in the other restaurants on site. Unlike some previous reviewers, we didn't have any real problems in planning our dining.
The pools are good, and the activities excellent and varied, with children particularly well catered for in clubs for various ages, with energetic and enthusiastic staff. The after-dinner entertainment was also very good. Children of all ages are fully involved with everything (save for one restaurant and one pool) at all hours. If you have (or like) children this is great. For childless holidaymakers who want peace and quiet, this hotel is certainly not the place to be during the school holidays.
The other guests were predominantly Italian, although with increasing percentages of British and French in the week following the major 15th August Italian public holiday. Not all staff spoke passable English, but enough did and it was never a problem.
We hired a car, and for a two-week holiday it was an advantage for getting out and about (at least for the adults) and seeing something different, although if we'd been there for only a week we would not have bothered. The hotel is fairly isolated, but there are places worth visiting not far away, and the hotel does organise excursions.
The rooms were more simply furnished than the price might have suggested, with a couple of electrical and mechanical defects (a little like the old Alfa Romeo I used to drive) but sufficiently comfortable, and spotlessly clean. With three children, it was worth paying the extra for our superior suite.
The children want to go back again next year.

| said: Firstly for those of you that are travel sick I would say don’t even think about it…..the road to this hotel is long and windy (11/2 in a car even longer in a coach)
The hotel is impressive, well layed out and you never feel “over-looked” by anyone. It also makes for a good walk to get the baby off to sleep, or just for an after dinner stroll.
The hotel is perfect for beach lovers too, as it’s on the best the island has to offer, BUT that is all there is in the immediate vicinity. Far too quiet for us!!!!!!
The reception staff were great, even though their English wasn’t fantastic. The rest of the staff do try with the English, but really not that good and things get lost in translation, so take your phrase book.
Accomodation was good, although the a/c needs updating. It was well kept, clean and tidy and the maids are worth their weight in gold!!!
The bambino room which is open 24hours was FANTASTIC, with milk, yoghurts, snacks, sterilizers, bottle warmers, microwaves infact just about everything we needed….amazing!!!
The restaurants were a mmixed bag….Nautilus was un-ispiring but o.k Pomodora was brilliant, and the kids get to watch their pizza being made. Duna Bianca was great with lots of fish on offer as was the Scorfano. Didn’t get to try the others, but would definitely recommend that you book all the restaurants at the start of your holiday to avoid disappointment (they get really busy)

Were do I begin, on arrival at the complex after a hour/half in a mini bus feeling travel sick, we then had a three hour wait for our room, but was given lunch.We were then allocated a room at the far end of the complex up/down a hill and with a walking disability this was not acceptable.Our tour company was well aware of my condition when booked in 2005, after getting no response from reception I rang the rep who quickly sorting the problem out and was moved to a more central position on the complex.I would advise disabled people to have a room in the Genipri complex near to the pool for easy access to the complex, but not good for a walking disablity due to lots of steps and steep hills.
Please book your dinners in advanced-on the day you arrive for the rest of the holiday due to problems getting in particular ones that are good, try them all some charge a supplement but well worth the extra. The beach one is fantastic get there early otherwise they run out of food very quickly, pizza one good for the little ones and a real favourite with families. The staff are very good with children of every nationality and the entertainment was very good indeed including some Opera and a mini disco for the kids every night.The children's club was well run but we did not allow ours off the complex at all - beware of the beach as it was full of jelly-fish so out of bounds for most of the time, but with three pools to sit round - not a problem.
A trip to Corsica is a definate, but make sure you get a long stay and its very expensive indeed..........The location of the complex is not good and the complex does run a mini bus to the local town which is very sleepy and full of locals with little to do there. We hired a car and went to the water park and local towns well worth a visit and gets you out of the complex.If you have very young children there is a complex set aside were there is free milk and snacks to accomodate them and nappies well worth the extra..............
The cleaners do an excellent job and it looks like the faries have been in well worth a tip, the pool has a lifegaurd and he/she are on the ball no beach towel on the beds before 8.30am otherwise they are taken off.............which I agree with.Very mixed nationalities with lots of Italians/french, but no problems at all.
Would we visit this hotel again........we would advise a seven day trip otherwise you will get restless and advise for any longer time hire a car and get about, there is life outside the complex. Sardinia id a beautiful country and the people are wonderful and fantastic with children. Disabled people please remember there are lots of steep hills/steps and not suitable for wheelchair users at all.
This is a lovely complex for children and they will have a super time.
