| said: Excellent hotel situated in Es Forti about 20 minutes walk from Cala D'or. It is a quiet area, but 3 minutes walk takes you to the shops where there are a good few restauants and some bars. There is, however lots going on in the hotel, there is entertainment every night and whilst most of it is pretty good, there are some nights that are rather lacking.
The hotel is spotless, the staff very friendly and helpful, especially reception.
The rooms are kept immaculate, my only critiscism about the rooms is the fact that none of them have much of a view, ours, on the ground floor, looked out on a path with shrubs and trees, which hid the road. However, it was not an issue.
The food is very good, plenty of it and an amazing variety.
It is a hotel that caters for the older holiday maker and young couples might find that a problem, but because the age is predominately over 40, there are no all night parties and people falling in drunk at all hours of the morning (apart from us !!!!)
I would recommend the Rocamarina on all counts, with one exception, there is an acute shortage of sun beds..which unfortunately if you are not inclined to queue at 9 am to deposit your towel !!! You are not likely to get one !! The British are just as bad as our European neighbours...and will insist on claiming their sunbed and then going for breakfast...not impressed. But that was my only gripe.
So any one going out there, enjoy yourselves. The Thomson team of Dave (your my rep now) Mark, Lorraine and Claire are a cracking bunch and cope brilliantly, they work their socks off...well done guys !

Food was very good and lots of choice and was always fresh
Hotel location between a main road and a quiet residential street close to the small bay of Es Forti beach which could be seen from the second floor on tiptoe.
The entertainment was of varying quality the two resident staff tried very hard but I felt they were too young for the age group of the guests when we stayed. The visiting acts were good.
We were a little disappointed that the hotel did not have more of a sea view which is implied in the brochure Superior rooms are not worth the extra as some were very overlooked by the sun terrace.

| said: Fantastic hotel. Room and hotel spotless, towels changed everyday, staff very friendly and helpful.
We had a standard room that looked over the gardens - you only get a pool view with the superior rooms. But had a look at a superior room and didn't think the extra was worth it - not much difference. The garden view rooms were very private and quiet.
Food amazing - plenty of choice, presented and cooked to a high standard. Nothing is too much trouble - wanted scrambled egg for breakfast instead of fried - cooked in front of you in no time at all! Best of all was the bread and butter pudding! Wonder I wasn't charged extra weight on the plane home!
Entertainment varied. The Elvis and the teddy bears were amazing - best live band ever! Entertainment alternated from night to night - some good some not so good. Daytime entertainment was around the main pool however we mainly sat at the tennis court pool or the beach so can't really comment.
Charged extra for bed by the pool(not the main pool) at the tennis court which was my only complaint as the pool belonged to the hotel! The steak bar by the tennis court was super for lunch. Beach clean, water clear as a bell and we never saw any jelly fish.
The resort itself was lovely - no idiots about mainly couples. The marina beautiful, though be careful of the Elton John bar. Charged twice as much for drinks as any other bar!
The mini tourist train was well worth the 3 euros return to have a look round resort. Several stops around for you to get on and off.
Flight (from Coventry) and transfers very good.
Had fantastic time - met some lovely people, start saving for next year!

The food was excellent, the entertainment mostly to a high standard(particularly the tribute band Elvis and the Teddy Bears, one of the best live bands we have seen), even Syd Little wasn't too bad.
The staff were very friendly and attentive and there was a great atmosphere around the hotel. The hotel is actually in Cala Egos and it is small but very pleasant with some nice cafes to eat in for lunch.
We recommend Tonys and Martas. All in all a great holiday at a fabulous hotel.

The food was very good and the hotel very clean. The staff were excellent.
The entertainment was quite good. We joined in a few games but these were very basic bean bag throwing etc. Could do with a pool table and dart board.
Of the reps Joe was fantastic and very talented.
The location was okay a few bars nearby but not much cheaper than the hotel. We would certainly return.

| said: This hotel is very clean in all areas, the housekeeping ladies should be very proud, main room, bedrooms, corridors, dining room, pool area all kept extremely clean.
The reception staff are very helpful and all speak excellent English, the waiters and waitresses are very attentive, didn't have to wait at all to be served anywhere in the hotel even on busy nights when the entertainment was in full swing.
The reps work very hard and I have never seen so many people taking part in the daytime activities at any other hotel, without any bullying tactics everyone seemed happy to take part and enjoyed the games. The food is very good and plenty of choice for starters and main course, the meat in particular was cooked to perfection, great choice in sweets, and although I don't like bread and butter pudding it did look very tasty, the apple crumble was lovely.
The only down side of the holiday was the fiasco with the sun beds, we managed to get two sun beds next to the pool on the morning we were leaving, the rest of the time we were on the sun terrace, up a flight of stairs, plenty of sun beds and shades but only for the able bodied. The queue for the sun beds round the pool and in the garden area started forming at 7.30am and the rope cordon was lowered at about 8.45 - 9.00am don't go on holiday to queue, so didn't get a sun bed round the pool (ho hum!!!) I think the hotel could manage a few more sun beds in the garden area as there is a large area taken up with swings and a climbing frame and bridge for children and seeing as this is an adult-only hotel I don't think these will be getting much use. You can go to the Tennis Bar across the road which is also owned by the hotel and pay 10.5 euros for two sun beds and a brolly if you like, they also have a pool or pay the same and go to the beach, but I think this is a bit of a cheek considering how much the holiday costs to begin with.
All in all a very nice hotel, but not the best Gold we have stayed in.

Great to relax without children running about the place. Only problem, hotel across the road from garden area is full of noisy children and can be heard.
Room 206 ok, quiet, outlook over middle garden area, with other side of hotel just across so no views as such. Sitting on balcony was often spoiled by smokers on next balcony, this permeated through into our room also.
Food and service was very good, beware of the bread and butter pudding it is delicious and husband put pounds on!
Not too struck on entertainment, resident duo a 'little boring'. Staff always pleasant. Disappointed with Thompsons reps though, too young, and couldn't be bothered attitude, would like to see a more mature rep in this type of hotel.
Would have said yes to visit hotel again but doubt would return to area.

A wonderful place, this was the first time my husband and I stayed at a Thomson Gold Hotel and we has a very pleasant suprise when we arrived, the hotel was very clean, nice size bedrooms, deep bath and overhead shower, which was very powerful, balcony was a tad on the small size but then we did not stay on there long anyway!
The stairs leading to the loos in the main part of the hotel could have had hand rails both sides but not a real problem for the fit people! The food was plentiful and well presented, always hot and you culd eat as much as you wanted.
The location of the hotel was good, the staff were brilliant, I am only able to have soya milk so took my own and they kept it in the fridge in the bar and when I needed a hot drink they always poured it in a little jug for me without being asked. Entertainment was wonderful, especially Joe the main guy, a real Robbie Williams, georgeous!!
We are already looking at going back next year. .........Roll on.!!

| said: We stayed at the Rocamarina for two weeks. The first week was okay.
The hotel in itself was clean, and the food was okay. But on the second week, or seventh day of our holiday, one of our party (Paul) developed Bacterial Pneumonia. The hotel staff and Thompson rep were quick to tell us that this must have been a virus we had brought with us from the UK, but upon returning to the UK following a 2 week hospitalisation at the Polyclinica in Miramar, we have been told that Bacterial Pneumonia has a 4 day incubation period, and that the main source for contracting the bacteria which caused the pneumonia is from Swimming Pools.
The pool at the Rocamarina Hotel is the only pool used by Paul. It is now 2 weeks since he returned from Majorca to the UK, and his illness has now progressed to Pneumonia and Pleurisy. He is extremely ill constantly being readmitted to Hospital. The main gripe we have is that nobody at the Hotel would accept responsibility for this situation, and no checks were carried out at the hotel to determine if the bacteria had come from the pool.
We will NOT be returning to the Rocamarina hotel. This illness has left Paul's family with no source of income as he was self employed, and we have been told that it will be at least 6 months before he is able to work again as he did before our Holiday at the Rocamarina, Majorca.

The standard of rooms are high (we always upgrade to a superior room) and it does exactly what it says in the brochure, all of Thomson Golds are the same so you know what to expect.
The staff are very friendly and the hotel is family owned, their key staff members have all worked there for 25 years and more!!
The food is excellent, and you eat as much as you want, the Thomson Reps are a dedicated team and are on call exclusively to the Rocamrina.
Go try it, and enjoy!

We were on the ground floor and our balcony looked over the gardens.
The hotel food was excellent, great choices at every meal.
Staff in dining room were always smiling pleasant and helpful.
Before we arrived we thought we would travel into Cala d'or in the evenings and worried that the hotel was too far out. We only left the hotel once and wondered what we were doing as everything we needed for a lovely relaxing stay was available at the hote.l
The swimming pool was perfect very clean.. We had read reports of shortage of sunbeds and about the queueing in the morning. We joined in and all the guests made a joke out of it we always got a bed near the pool.
The entertainment during the day, water polo bowls etc were great fun and we got to know other people very quickly as we all joined in. In the evening the entertainment was very good only one night was a bit disappointing but it was very impressive.
We had to cut our holiday short as our first grandson was born very early weighing only 1lb 6ozs and we had to get home. This is were the hotel staff and our reps Liz and Phil came into their own. We will never forget the kindness of the hotel staff even in the dining room the Head Waiter spoke to us and said if there was anything he or his staff could do we only had to say. The receptionist kept changing our notes for coin for the phone a lot of coin. The reps took all the pressure of us in arranging our travel home. We look forward to going back very much and have recommended it to friends.
We found it all perfect

| said: This was our second visit to the Hotel Rocamarina and we had a fantastic time again.
The food at the Rocamarina is of a very high standard compared to other hotels. We also go to the hotels tennis court restaurant which has excellent local produce and extremely friendly staff.
The location is perfect, just a minutes walk from a lovely little beach, 10 minutes walk from the wonderful marina with many restaurants and bars and 5 minutes in a taxi to the main resort.
Yes it goes without saying that if you do want to sunbath around the pool area then yes you will need to get down there early to avoid the rush however, there is plenty of room to sunbath in the gardens.
The staff here go out of their way to make sure you have a great time.
We are in our 20's and a few people wondered why we chose a Thomson Gold hotel because they saw it as being for the over 40's but we too like the option of no children and somewhere you can just sit back and relax.
We met some great friends and we will continue to return to this fabulous place.

The hotel was lovely, rooms very clean and there was plenty of choice for the food. I really enjoyed this holiday.
Me and my husband liked going down to the Rocamarina's tennis courts pool which is even more peaceful with a lovely pool side restaurant.
My only complaints about this holiday is the entertainment which doesnt really suit everyone and the lack of safety - please avoid the stairs leading down to the toilets in the main part of the hotel as on the last night of our holiday I slipped on them and broke my ankle really badly.
I would still go back there though!

Check your rooms for any damage and report it however minor, as you will be accused of causing said damage, and then asked to pay for the repair.
Part of our group who refused to pay for damage to a table that was there on their arrival and were banned from the dining room for the last three days of our holiday and also had no room service. The couple are partially disabled and suffer with diabetes to be deprived of these amenities was totally inhuman.
The hotel manager hovered in the restaurant rearranging the serving tongs, and supervising the invariably tepid food.
The entertainment during the day was good and well organized and during the evenings was above average bearing in mind that we were at the end of the season.
The pool was down steps and the hotel generally not very elderly friendly.

The food was great always lots of variety and very fresh and the restaurant staff again were always only to pleased to help.
While out there we met some hilarious English people to spend some time with enjoying the activities. Most of them we met visit the same hotel twice a year something I am thinking of doing myself with Karen. Well worth the visit.

The food in the restaurant can be described as "bland" with not many choices of local quisine.
The space a round the pool is not very big. Even though you were told there was rules about not saving sunbeds with towels no one seemed to police it!
The manageress did not seem very polite and seemed to have this obbession of "hovering" around the buffet at meal times

| said: We holiday twice a year, normally early May & Late Sept, but as my wife is training to be a nurse we are now forced to holiday around peak times. we opted for the Rocamarina and having never been to a gold hotel before,we were hoping for that something a little bit extra. Well, we have to say "We got it" and a little bit more.
The Hotel was in a super location. The staff and management have got the service exactly right. A warm friendly atmosphere from start to finish. one of the cleanest Hotels (of many) in which we have staid. The food was also to a very high standard indeed and well varied. As for the Girls on the entertainment side. They were great and "Sorry" but we do NOT agree that they only talk to certain people. They worked dam hard for EVERYONE all week long and were great at involving theselves with those who wanted to join in the games and have fun and leaving those that didn't to get on with there own thing. So 10/10 Girls for getting the right mix. And Sarah... Your smile is addictive.
The resident bands were a good standard, althouhgh a wee bit on the boring side. Having said that looking at previouse comments on this forum. If they have been repeatedly moaned at for "being too loud to talk over"....come on folks it's live entertainment for dancing and ejoying yourselves to. NOT background music. There are plenty of other bars, inside and out to have cosy chats in. there is even a quite pool and restaurant on the tennis court side for those who want that type of thing.
If we had to gripe, and we don't really want to. The only thing we fell Thomson should look at on a Gold Holiday is perhaps a few more Top line (Known) cabaret acts, rather than just one late one. And also.....there is no also. We had a great time. some real lauhgs (the marathon Jenga game) Made some smashing new friends and we have already booked again for next August and are confidently taking some family members with us. Our last word on this is: If you do not enjoy youselves at this Hotel, then you only have yourelves to blame" G & J

From the moment you arrive you are greeted by the ever friendly and extremely helpful reception staff. The housekeeper and her staff keep the bedrooms and public areas spotlessly clean. The dining room and bar staff are always friendly and helpful and the food is excellent by the way. The Thomson staff are always there if you need them, however, they are not in your face. The entertainment is of a good standard but I do agree with other comments that more top professional acts would be nice. The only irritation is the British holidaymakers obsession with getting their towels on the sunbeds early and then clearing off for what seems hours on end. But that should not deter anyone from visiting this hotel. We will certainly be returning in the near future.

| said: Rocamarina Hotel - absolutely fantastic (or at least those are the (only) adjectives used by the reps). In reality the cleanliness of the hotel could not be faulted, the friendliness of all the staff was exceptional, the pool was kept incredibly clean and the manageress had her finger firmly on the pulse. Eating on the terrace was a plus although sometimes the sun was a bit bright in the mornings (shame). On the negative side the food was a bit too british with little local/spanish offerings. The plus being there was always a good choice.
Entertainment was varied - "Inspiration" and commedians were good but the remainder mmmmmmm. Volume could be turned down a tad.
Brace yourselves for the "new" germans - yes the brits are far worse at claiming sunbeds with a queue from 8.00 onwards waiting for the pool to be cleaned. The entertainment started at 9.00 when they were allowed through in an embarassing rush - towels and books flying. A big thumbs down to Thomson Gold reps who said this was not allowed and yet we watched the reps cheer them on! Thumbs down Thomson Gold.
If you like poolside games the reps were friendly. If you didn't they hardly (if ever) spoke to you, except to ask you to give them a good report at the end - yeah right! Sorry girls - absolutely fantastic you were not.
I guess a holiday can be made or broken by who you meet - cheers Sue and Fred.

We reurned in June 2004 and it is even better.First class food plenty of variety and a lovely terrace outside the main dining room where you could eat.Lunch with equally enjoyable food available at the adjoining Tennis Court Restuarant. The managaress must be congratulated on the quality of ALL her staff, friendly, courtious. The waiters in particular were all posssed with welcome senses of humour.
Top Class Entertainment BUT WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE AT SUCH A DEAFENING VOLUME. It does not improve the quality and we hopr that when we return as surely we will the Hotel will take note of this minor point.Remember holiday makers like to be able to converse quitely when watching the shows.
Finally top marks to the Thomson Entertainment girls who worked so hard non stop.

| said: The Rocamarina is a gem amongst Thomson Gold hotels. The cleanliness, food, and staff are first class in all respects. The downside has to be the fact that the evening entertainment is bombarded at you at such a high volume that any form of conversation - other than perhaps by semaphor(!) - is practically out of the question. Would we go again? Most definitely - as long as we can keep well away from the evening racket!!

| said: Just back from a lovely week at the Hotel Rocamarina. The hotel is first class, spotlessly clean. The reception staff all spoke English and were very friendly and efficient.
The rooms are large and again spotlessly clean with a very good air condition system.Clean towels every day and sheets twice a week also a free fridge which came in handy for cold drinks.
The food was fantastic my husband and I are both vegetarians and each morning we were given a menu to chose from, with 7 starters and 10 main courses.Breakfast was good with all the usual fruit, cereals eggs etc and also smoked salmon to have with your scrambled eggs. A very nice women cooked your eggs ie scrambeled, omelets fresh for you.We chose to eat out on the terrace and you are given a table for the whole of your stay, so no waiting at the door to be seated.
Swimming pool was very cold but clean with plenty of sun beds for all. There is also a tennis club accross the road with another pool and bar.
The entertainment team were very good and there was lots to do during the day if you wanted. The entertainment at night was good but we prefered the bar at the tennis club for a quiet drink.
All in all a first class hotel with the added bonus of not accepting children which meant that you could have a quiet read by the pool and that the entertainment was just for adults.
Full marks to Thomson and we will definatly be returning to the Rocamarina.

| said: We stayed in the Rocamarina Hotel for the second time in successive years and this time we holidayed with my sister in law and brother in law as we raved soooo much about the hotel. The staff throughout were polite and concienscious. The holiday reps were hard working and entertaining. As we dont have children and go on holiday to relax and unwind this hotel is a must for the reason of a no children policy. We had a `bomb scare` one afternoon and the staff ensured that everybody was safe and away from the hotel. On returning, the staff made even the most worried guest comfortable and the holiday continued as before. We will be returning again for the third time this year, so if that tells you what the hotel is like then there is no need to say anymore.

| said: Decent hotel..staff very helpful and friendly. Not a busy resort..ideal for couples. Small harbour nearby with good food available. Lovely old fort a few hundred yards from hotel..transport to nearby towns available also motorised train to take you around... downside: very crowded beach...but can recommend Rocamarina
