Hotel cleanliness very clean, and well kept gardens, the food was reasonable for a buffet but became repetitive across the week, however, the location of the hotel in relation to the town action is quite a walk for those whom this hotel appears to cater for ie. The older generation.
There where a number of guests whom walking was a problem and the town access was quite a walk, a taxi or bus ride away.
Hotel staff very polite but was not always genuine.
The entertainment left a lot to be desired - if you like quizzes, Mr & Mrs or second rate cabaret then this is the place for you, we personally have been better entertained in family hotels across Europe when we had our children with us.
This will be our first and last time with Thomson gold, we were only looking to get away from very young children not enter into a time warp where the entertainer's think a modern song is only 27 years old. HO and for all of you out there who have a go at the Germans for calming sunbeds then you want to stay here for a week !!!! Every day there were Thomson gold towels every were but no bodies to be seen.

Typical Thomson Gold, no problems whatever with the hotel or food.
My only gripe is the bar prices. I am a whisky drinker, I not know what I was getting, but it had no effect on me, so I watched the bar man, he ignored the proper brands and poured something from a brand I had never heard of, so from then on I asked specifically for Teachers etc, which improved matters. The lager is also very weak,[draught] is it watered down? ask for John Smiths, that was good.
The hotel is in a residential area so very quiet, will definitely go again.

The hotel is wholly used by Thomsons so only British people there, with great entertainment in the evenings.
Hotel very clean, food excellent and they were able to understand and cater for my gluten free diet. Fab pool with plenty of good quality sunbeds.

Very relaxing holiday in a spotlessly clean hotel. Good sized room with excellent air-con and sea view in a small modern block. Nicely decorated and plenty of storage space.
Wish the reception area (which is very nice) was non-smoking because it smells, as does the bar area. Not a good first impression but the reception staff are really pleasant and helpful.
Guests are told they must not "bag" sunloungers but they do and hotel or reps do nothing to discourage it. Towels are eveywhere before 7 am and it is just plain selfish! I was tempted many a day to whip the whole lot off and chuck them in the pool. I noticed 2 distinctive towels on at 7 am, at 12 they were still there and again at 4 and 6 and never saw a person on them!! How crazy is that? They must address this and also the fact that people come in from other hotels to use these facilities.
Brochure in bedroom outlines other "Stil Group" hotels in C'an Picafort and their guests come here. Thomson Reps reckon they know nothing about this however!!
Then how come there are never enough sunbeds??

| said: This was one of the most peaceful relaxing hotels we have stayed at. Thomson Gold have surpassed themselves with this one.
The age range at the hotel varied from young honeymoon couples right through to our dear O.A.P,s Every one enjoying themselves.
The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels supplied. We had a lovely room overlooking the pool and the entertainment area.
The food was first class, breakfast was excellent so much to eat that we did not need lunch. Main courses were always piping hot with plenty of variety and desserts to die for.
All the staff were very friendly, Susie and Emma the entertainments team were outstanding, but the whole hotel had the most fantastic atmosphere. The entertainment was the usual mix of really good and the not so good we felt that there could have been maybe more comedy or a professional singer, but the lord of the dance show was superb.
There were some lovely walks along the sea front into C'an Picafort or into Son Baulo and a walk along the river bank. We took the local bus(2mins from hotel) up to Port of Alcudia and also to Puerto Pollensa (It took approx 40min to Pue Pollensa) and cost about 3euros each.
The beaches on that stretch of coast are fabulous with very safe bathing.
We had no complaints at all from this holiday it was excellent all round.
We are considering a return possibly next summer.

The hotel was clean and the rooms excellent, food and service was five star plus. The afternoon pool bar meals were not just as good as the evening dinner, so eat a good breakfast and head to town for some local food.
Staff very friendly. No pressure from holiday reps to enter in, just do your own thing.
Bike and car hire is close by, traffic not a big problem, so a trip to Alcudia is a must. Or if you wish public transport close by.
I would certainly return to this hotel.
Only one complaint, the hotel reception was very grand, but unfortunately not a non smoking area. As non smokers this was a bit annoying but we only had to pass through reception so not a major problem

We could find no fault with anything, from the service in reception of which by the way when we went to collect our passports a welcome gift was waiting for us, a brilliant touch! the bar the dining room and room service.
The hotel, rooms, all public areas & grounds are kept spotlessley clean by a very friendly & hard working staff. The dining room is equally as clean with an efficient head waiter and a talented chef the food was excellant with a massive choice (something for everyones taste)The evenings entertainment was also excellant with a variety of artists to suit all.
This is a Thompson Gold Hotel & Georgina the team leader rep & her girls desearve a merit they are very friendly & helpful at all times! Emma & Susie the entertainment crew kept us occupied thruoghtout our stay. although we weren't badgered into doing anything we didn't want to do.
I'm sorry if I keep on repeating the word excellant but it was I would recommend it to anyone and we will certainly be going back again Gill & Bob.

| said: Chose this hotel as we had been to Can Picafort a few years ago (Gran Vista) and wanted to try the "no kids" hotel type holiday, we were not disappointed. The hotel was excellent, the layout of the pool area was spacious with enough room for all. Very quiet which is what we wanted in the hotel and the pool area. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The food was very good, the choice of dishes was varied and for a 2 week stay if you got bored you could always eat out once and a while. The rooms were very clean with thankfully very efficient air conditioning. The rooms were serviced every day again with very helpfull and efficient service provided. The Thompson Gold team were excellent in their attitude to their work and worked hard to please (Emma is crazy !!) if you wanted to join in you did if you didnt they were not pushy. We would definately go to another Thompson Gold hotel again for the peace and quiet.

| said: We spent a fabulous fortnight in the PP last October. Hotel is well kept and very clean and definitely good all round for a 3* hote. Pool was beautiful if a little cold as it rained a lot - no problem getting a sunbed at that time of year! Hotel was closing down for the winter the day after we left. The food was a bit repetitive but for a kitchen running down their stocks they did very well. I think the reputation of the desserts is well enough known not to even need a mention, but just in case - fantastic.
Location might be a bit quiet for some but we just wanted to hang about and do very little anyway - perfect. And the town was just a short walk away, and buses round the corner.
Entertainment team (Natalie and Hazel) were absolutely superb. Kept everyone going depite the rain. The competition to win as many TG t-shirts and caps as possible was fierce!! One of the regular bands should be dropped (All Shook Up) as they couldn't keep a dance going. But Necropolis were very good. Comedy acts were a bit repetitive but still a good laugh.
Hotel staff were very friendly without being obtrusive. They just let you get on with your holiday but were there if you needed them.
All in all a superb place. We'd definately go back.

| said: Just returned from the Picafort Park after a fortnight's stay with Thomson's Gold. Our group consisted of 2 couples (all of us around 30 yrs old).
Here's a run through the main feedback areas:
Location:
The hotel is located in the San Baulo area in outskirts of C'an Picafort - about 15 min walk to the centre where the majority of the bars are. There are two main beaches nearby - San Baulo (less than 5 mins away) & the large beach in C'an Picafort. We had no problems with the resort - enough to keep us occupied for a relaxing holiday. There are a few pubs near the hotel (4* mention for Scandals) but the majority are in the main town.
Hotel - Pool:
Decent size for swimming and relaxing - it's made up of 3 areas of varying depths from waist deep to near diving depth. The pool has a large sunbathing area - expect to be up around 6.30-7am if you want a parasol in the peak times but there are plenty of trees around which can be used for shade too.
Hotel - Bars:
The hotel has two bars. The main one is open until 2am - prices are about average for the resort but more expensive than local bars (Lager is €2.5 in hotel for small glass where local bars like Scandals give you a pint for €1-2 depending on what time you go). The second bar is a pool side bar wich opens from 1-3pm for snacks. The majority of the bar staff were great but the head barman could do with finding a job he enjoys!
Hotel - Restaurant:
We were half board for the fortnight so received breakfastand dinner each day. The breakfast is the normal set up - toast, cakes, cereal, full english, etc. The dinners were a big disappointment to us as we basically expected a higher quality from Thomson's Gold - after about 2-3 days it was obvious that there was no variation in the food at all. They had the cheek to do special nights like Chinese or Gala nights where they served the exact same food as the night before but the waitresses wore silly clothes. We ended up eating out a few nights because there is a limit to how much pork and salad you can take in two weeks! Last grumble on the evening set up was the restrictive time slot - dinner was supposed to be from 6.30-9pm but if you went at 8pm it was mobbed and they started taking what was left of the food away at 8.30pm!! Why not go earlier you may ask? The temperature was still in the 90's at 6pm which meant that this was an ideal time to be at the pool cutting down the risk of being burned in the sun.
Hotel - Rooms:
Top class - air conditioning could have the room colder than you can bare even in 100+°F temperatures! Beds were very comfortable and maid service was excellent! Fridge and Safety deposit box in room too. The pool facing rooms were by far the best - would request this if possible.
Entertainment:
Daytime was great if you were active - loads of games, quizzes, etc to get involved in. Don't miss the Duck Race in the pool!!
Evening entertainment however has to be the biggest disappointment for us. We were sold the holiday with the no kids thing being a massive bonus for younger couples - we found the entertainment geared totally to to over 50's and we were not sure how they even enjoyed it. There were one of two duo's on as a warm up most nights 'All Shook Up' and 'Necropolis' - please save yourself from them if you go there!! You'll soon find the repetition in songs, jokes, comments, etc as annoying as the poor quality. The hotel entertainment team took over after this with a various events. Most nights had a 30-45 minute slot of bingo or a game show mock ups, etc. These were ok but soon became annoying. Then on other nights there were 'professional' entertainers brought in - we caught about three of the comedians one was excellent, one reasonable and the other (Jed Fry) we couldnt bare watch him for more than about 20 minutes and walked off - old jokes & depressing songs were about all he had to offer. Finally there were a few tribute bands 4Tops, Beatles, etc - these were fine with the Beatles being the highlight. The only problem was that it was very busy each night so you had to suffer the dross at the start if you wanted a seat for the better stuff.
You are told throught the holiday that the entertainment team are rated as the best in the world for Thomsons Gold hotels - all I can say is that I pity anyone else who isnt staying at this hotel if that is the best. I expected far more from Thomson's Gold.
Thomson's Reps:
Pretty helpful with anything we asked. The hotel have their own English PR person (Helen) who was a great help to guests. We did find the welcome meeting to be even more of a hard sell than usual though - very little useful information other than how you can give Thomson's more money! Top tip - the reps do a 'Rep's entertainment show' on a Friday, please save yourselves from the pain of watching this embaressment of a night. It was terrible!
Overall, I know this all sounds a bit of a downer but we still had a great time at the hotel. The pool area was our highlight for during the day and the hotel was a great base to head out for a nights entertainment out on the town. The food was bareable for most nights and it wasnt too expensive to eat out for the others.
On the value for money scale the hotel fell well short of what we expected - the rooms and the pool are the only areas that are fit of the 3 star rating with the entertainment and food barely scraping a 2 star in my books.
I've got some digital pics of the pool which I'll post soon to give an idea of what I was talking about above.
Cheers,
Stevie

Otherwise I must say it was a great week. The pool was large enough and deep enough in parts. I must agree the food was reasonable too.
I would recommend hiring a car as I felt the beaches weren't great, however if you drive approx. 10 miles East there are numerous almost deserted beaches with fantastically clear water and the nudist option is there. We also visited a fantastic monastary on the west of the Island and the most northern point where there are fantastic views.

If the present members of staff on the catering side do not change then one could not ask for more from a three star.
The pool consists of three circular pools one of 1.7M deep one of 1.6M deep and one of 0.75 M deep. They join together and this is the limited area for faint hearted swimmers.
Sunbeds have been known to be reserved at 5am and whilst there it was announced that they should not be reserved until after 7am. There was also a notice saying that subheads could not be reserved, but!
There are sufficient sunbeds and mattresses for all visitors as long as people do not take two to use and once again there is a notice stating only take one, but!!
Thomsons blame the hotel and the hotel blames the guests.
Expect to be charged a deposit of 10 euros per towel which you are refunded on leaving and surrendering towel.
Also expect a charge of 1.03 euros per guest per day as a Majorca environment charge.(Not refundable)
There is a choice of daily activities at the hotel and we would recommend the use of local buses from just around the corner, they are inexpensive, clean, efficient and run on time.
There are (alternative to Thomson) daily tour operators locally. But if booking with Magic Reison be prepared to be picked up locally by coach, taken to a farm in the centre of the island where you will be offered a free drink followed by a "blanket" presentation taking about 40 minutes, where you are given a talk about certain mattresses and covers. (see "orthosoft"on the internet as an example of style). After the presentation you will offered an inclusive meal. Obviously the meal is subsidised. Around one o clock you will depart on your tour.
Be also prepared when arriving at Palmas airport if the aircraft is parked well away from the baggage collection to spend about 30 minutes walking there. Be also prepared to spend a further 30 minutes getting baggage, walking to coach and waiting for rest of passengers before leaving for hotel. The journey to hotel can take an hour so the time from landing to hotel is about the same as flying from UK to Majorca.
If one needs assistance with transport from/to the aircraft this must be booked in the UK !
A must to see is the local wildlife centre (binoculars desirable). and your Thomson local area interest rep will
accompany you there on certain days.
Visit the local tourist office for maps, bus timetables and information.
Entertainment nightly was great with good comedians and Thomson gold shows which were of west end standard.
I am sure we will be back but will be wiser.

| said: Just returned from this hotel. Had a brilliant two week holiday. The hotel is very clean and most of the staff of very helpful and friendly (we did find one or two bar staff a bit miserable). The food is amazing - be prepared to put on quite a few pounds during your stay! The entertainment is top class and the two entertainment reps Karyn and Paul are superb - both stars in their own rights. We were worried about the sun bed situation before we went (although it is more of a sun shade problem as there are plenty of sun beds but not enough umbrellas) - and it is a bit of a problem but nothing that cannot be overcome with a little thought. The main resort of C'an Picafort is about a 20-25 minute walk away and is very busy but the situation of this hotel is a perfect combination quite quiet but within easy reach of all the hustle and bustle if you want it. This was our first experience of a Thomson Gold holiday and I would certainly go on one again. It was sheer bliss sitting around the pool with no children screaming and shouting, also in the Restaurant at night there is a very calm atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised at the age range of guests, not at all "Saga like" quite the opposite, very many young single couples. A couple of bars that deserve a mention, Wotsits and Scandals. Wotsits is run by an absolute nutter called Samir and his lovely English wife. Do the quiz at 10.00pm and then stay for the game of Bingo – I guarantee you will never have had a game of bingo quite like this one !! Scandals has a Happy Hour from 7:00pm till midnight! Buy one get one free – excellent value for money!

The food is good, but lacks a full choice (many evenings had basically the same main meal, loads of choice on the puddings though). The beach just down the road, was ok, but the water did have some rocks close by. If you turn left at the bottom of the hotel road, there is a nice beach about 20 minutes away, very clean and plenty of room to sunbath. The staff were very friendly and the reps did a very good job, and kept us entertained, the evening entertainment was good clean family fun. a couple of comedians appeared and they were very funny without using any bad language.

| said: Stayed at the Picafort Park in May 2002. We can honestly say this was one of our best holidays ever. Being a Thomson Gold holiday, the hotel was mainly for the more mature guest - meaning no kids - but there was a wide range of age groups there.
Hotel was very clean and comfortable, staff were very helpful and polite. Usual daytime entertainment such as skittles, killer darts, etc but the evening entertainment was very good with live shows and comedians. The food was the best we have ever had outside the UK - be prepared to put on some weight!
The hotel was located in a quiet area, the main town and beach being a 20 minute walk away and a nearer, smaller beach only 5 minutes away. The hotel grounds are well kept, although the apartment blocks were a bit drab and could do with a coat of whitewash. The large pool was surrounded by sunbeds but you had to get down early to get one because of the selfish people who did not observe the 'no reserving sunbeds' policy. Other than that it was absolutely fantastic and we would recommend it to anyone.
