| said: The accommodation was basic and tired. The air conditioning unit in the main living room area was broken/purposely disabled and most of the electrical equipment was faulty. The double bed was simply two singles pushed together and the curtains would constantly fall off the rails if touched.
The hotel was generally grubby with massive cockroaches all over the place, you could guarantee at least one a day in your apartment. The maid service was good overall but they would insist on leaving the balcony doors/windows open when they finished letting in hot air from outside to the room you've just managed to cool down and increasing the security risk.
The bar staff knew the basic English for ordering drinks but you could not talk to them about anything else.
The entertainment comprised of an annoying rep disrupting your poolside relaxation with volleyball, waterpolo and quizes from an extra loud microphone.
Does Basilica really mean Basic!

| said: We found the Basilica to be the ideal base for our holiday, walking distance to the sea front bars and also Bar Street, full with nightlife and taverna's. The location was also a 5 minute walk to Paphos harbour. You really could not fault the location.
The apartment itself were cleaned weekdays but not weekends. You really could not fault the maid service. Also, we had a a couple of little visitors (cocroaches) but we reported to reception and they cleaned the entire room, sprayed etc the same night to ensure that our friends would not visit again. Very prompt and reassuring as the wife cannot stand these sort of insects.
The swimming pool was fine and there was always plenty of sunbeds, the pool was not too deep and ideal for children, about 5ft in the deep end. Not much entertainment during the day at the hotel.
We found all the staff to be warm and friendly and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We are not the type to revisit the same hotel but would definatley recommend the Basilica as a good self catering hotel.
The Basilica is a short walk of everything you are likeley to need in Paphos.

| said: We stopped in the Basillica Harbour suites. The rooms were very basic but clean enough, Linen and towels changed 5 days out of 7.
The pool looks very inviting but in reality it is little more than a paddling pool as even in the "deep end" it only came to chest level. There are plenty of sun beds but not enough parasols.
The pool bar was well staffed and the bar staff very helfull, it was however abit pricey.
The reception staff were also excellent and spoke very good English.
I would come back to these apartments because of the excellent location.
