We found the staff and the First choice Rep to be very helpful, check in quick and painless, asked for a room away from I-4 not many options but she did her best we were in F block on the 7th floor, good view of wonder world from our door, we could see and hear the I-4 but it didn't bother us at all. The bin lorry made more noise around 5am, but that's around the time I wake up any way.

The room was fine. The only time we were in it was to sleep and change, don't normally like showers with a curtain but this one was great the rail at the top curved out so that you weren't attacked when you had a shower. It took a couple of days for the cleaner to get the idea that we don't use air conditioning, if you sleep in England and come out to Orlando every morning you never get used to the heat.

Can't comment on the food, too many nice cheap places to eat on the I Drive. The bar was OK, friendly bar men except one (he didn't get a tip), we had a couple of Buds most nights before we changed to go out, even caught Happy Hour a couple of times. There was entertainment but didn't go to it so can't comment about it.

If you want keep the cost down you can't go far wrong with this hotel, it's in the quieter end of I drive but only a few I Ride stops going north to a more lively part.

The Quality in Plaza is somewhat a contradiction in terms. The word Quality should not co-exist with the description of this hotel. Check in was quick and efficient in a clean and well presented foyer/reception. There is also an abundance of parking spaces for your hire car.
I think our first week was around spring break time and the whole hotel was infested with what I can only describe as American Hoodies. The language and demeanor of these hoardes can only be described as Ghetto life.
All rooms front doors and windows face out onto an open balcony. It reminded me of the type of motel room always portrayed in american homicide programs. I would not have been surprised to walk in and see the white outline of a body on the floor. This may appear to be a strong assasination of the accomodation but these are my observations.
Every time we have stayed in North America before, the beds have been at least Queen size. We were surprised to find that these rooms only had two normal doubles. A very uncomfortable few nights until we purchased an inflatable airbed and pump cheaply from Walmart.
Wall safes were ok and cleaners did a pretty good job each day.
Swimming pools were good and had complimentary towels around them. Ate at hotel once, which was food with no frills or flavour. There was a long walk from our accomodation to reception and bar, not nice with our children and the unsavoury characters all around.
Great location on I Drive and east to get to all attractions.
Good hotel for people on a very tight budget or young groups who dont care about asthetics.

The hotel is good value for money for the accommodation provided. It is fairly basic and a bit shabby in parts. It needs a bit of updating.

We took the advice of previous posters and asked for a room away from I4 which the man on the desk did willingly. Our room was basic and clean. It was cleaned on a daily basis with fresh towels and new toiletries left. There is a coffee maker, fridge, microwave and iron/ironing board (who irons on holiday?!) in the room.

We ate breakfast and one evening meal at the hotel. The food was ok but not outstanding but kids do eat free when with a paying adult.

The pools are good (with towels available at the poolside) but do overlook I4 so it's a bit noisy there.

The 24 hour shop is well stocked with friendly staff. They gave my daughter a lollipop as it was her birthday.

We also asked for a late check out and were able to keep our room until 1.00pm (at no extra charge) which fitted in nicely with our return flight.

We didn't hire a car and managed very well using public transport - the I Ride trolley, shuttle buses and the odd taxi.

I was verry unhappy with this place and have sent a letter of complaint to the hotel, their parent group. our travel agent, and all concerned:

This is an altered version of the letter, altered to abide by this sites protocols:-

Dear Sirs,

I have just returned from a two week holiday at the Quality Inn Plaza (International Drive), and have to say immediately that we will probably never want to stay there again.

Our arrival was dealt with at the desk by ******* — who even though I explained and spelt out the name ******* several times — continued to call me *****— not Mr. ***** – but *****... He completely messed up the room designations and several of our group where in rooms designated to other members of our group, albeit we tried hard to explain who should have smoking rooms and who should have non-smoking rooms. I add that I had emailed the hotel EIGHT months ago regarding this and had your administration 'complain' to ********' (our travel agent), that I was bothering them... Also, ********* faxed our request days before we arrived...

Many of the ******** staff on the complex have a poor understanding of English spoken by non-Americans and we had great difficulty conveying the simplest of requests on several occasions. And also, we always left a $5.00 tip for the maid each day with a note saying 'Thank you' for cleaning the room. On the day before our departure we left a Birthday Card marked to 'Mark' a fellow guest in our group that we were to give to him later that day. On arrival back to our room after the maid had cleaned — we found the card opened and a note next to it from the maid saying sorry but she thought it was for her? Clearly 'Mark' must have looked like 'Maid'...

On three of the nights during our stay we had reason to call security and complain about a group of teenagers fighting, swearing, and causing a nuisance of the areas outside our room. On the first instance, I dialled the front desk, but no answer... I dialled the operator who connected me with security, still no answer... The next morning I complained at the front desk only to have the Duty Manager (who also appeared to be a Security Guard) tell me "Well, kids will be kids" and suggested that he could move us to a tower block, albeit we were not the ones causing the problem... We declined and asked that a Security presence should be made at block E where the problems were occurring. On the final night Security dealt with the problem, and the next day the teenagers had checked out.

Upon making enquires myself this morning — it appears that this 'teenage' problem is years old and your hotel has constantly ignored complaints from foreign tourists in favour of the large revenue you gain from Soccer groups at this time of year, and further, one of the main reasons that your hotel is no longer serviced by Virgin Holidays...

I should point out that I am e-mailing all above not, so as to gain holiday vouchers or gain compensation, but to highlight the very serious problems for international guests at this hotel. The issues of security are a major concern, and the front desk staff clearly need far greater training (or even replacing).

I sincerely hope someone deals with the points I have raised...

We only ate at the Hotel for breakfast so cannot comment on the lunch or dinner, the breakfast was very good and plentiful..... No problems with the food
Very good location for the Disnaey Theme parks along with Sea World
Would reccomed this Hotel to anyone wanting a low budget visit to Florida.

This is our second stay at this hotel. It's basic but clean -clean towels every day - microwave, coffee maker - hairdryer - ironing board etc but no kettle.

Its central and close to all the attractions. We didn't eat in the hotel as pizza hut - ponderosa - diners - all close by, cheap too kids eat free in a lot of places.

Zebra bar OK take ID if you look under 21. Met some characters in there all good fun.

Ask for a room not facing interstate 4 as very noisy , did keep us awake for a few nights until we got used to it.

Good value for money plenty of free parking spaces and free safe deposit boxes in your room some hotels charge for both of these.

A car is essential - accept one with your holiday.

Have just returned from Orlando and this hotel.

Very well located on I-drive.

Hotel was clean and tidy.

Food was ok, but the choice was repetitve. There are that many restaurants around, that we only used the restaurant once.

Hotel staff seemed miserable, but always willing to help.

Entertainment was rubbish, one man and his guitar, but the bar is ok. Shame the kids play room had no pool table, but otherwise ok.

The I4 can be noisy but it never bothered us. Very good I trolley bus service, and also lynx buses to the Florida mall. Check out City walk at night on a weekend.

Lovely hotel basic like most american hotels but very enjoyable. Great location. It's advisable to ask for a room not overlooking the Interstate-4 due to the noise encountered on all hotels on this side of I-Drive.

Rooms have fridge, microwave, iron/board, hairdrier air-con with ice machines located at end of levels and washing machine facilities.

Three separate pools spread over 5 complexes with towels supplied free. No need to bring your own. Food in hotel is basic but with such magnificent and cheap eateries on your doorstep it ain't a worry.

The sports bar within the hotel is ok with either music or karaoke on 5/6 days p/w. And boy do americans love their karaoke!!!!

In a nutshell we would have no qualms about staying in the Quality Inn Plaza on any return visit+++

Good value for money hotel, great central location, minutes away from Universal, Wet 'n' Wild and Sea World.
Disney just a 15 minute drive. Rooms are basic but kept very clean, fresh towels daily if you wanted them.
Did not use hotel resturant, used Ponderosa, Sizzlers and Pizza Hut. Ponderosa do a great all you can eat buffet breakfast for $3.99.

Entertainment in Sports Bar was okay, staff were friendly and very helpful with any queries.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times from 1994 to 2005.

It is in a perfect location on International Drive, and is well laid back from the road.

Its not flash but is very good value for money.

Pools are fine, and shop staff are really friendly.
On each occasion I have stopped for 3 weeks, the side away from I4 is by far the best.

Because there is so much to do in Orlando, you dont use the hotel much anyway, so why waste money on an overpriced hotel.

I would stay there again.

Basically with this hotel we felt we got what we paid for. We found it to be basic but clean. Maids cleaned everyday, delivered fresh towels and done everything else you could expect.

Whilst non of the staff exactly went out of their way for us they were all pleasant enough. Our only complaint was on what passes for entertainment. One man singing and playing the guitar, and not to well i should add. Still its not likely you will spend alot of time in this bar.

We thought the location of this hotel was its best point, there is so much within walking distance. Pointe orlando mall (with a cimema), sizzlers,Tgi's walgreens and lots of others. Its also quite central for both disney and universal.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks and found it very basic. The carpets were actually needing replaced, never mind cleaned and everything about the place looked worn out. The noise from I-4 was a nuisance at first, along with the helipad, but you get used to it, especially after being at the parks most of the day.

Hotel staff weren't enthusiastic about helping with queries. Shop staff didn't seem too happy half the time either!

We didn't stay around long enough in the evening to sample any of the hotel entertainment.

Pools looked so much bigger in brochure.

Great location, plenty parking spaces. Disappointed, after having had such a great time at another hotel last year.

This hotel was in a great location it was right opposite a shopping complex next door to Pizza Hut, and next to Subway and TGI Fridays.

There is a little supermarket called Walgreen, on the other side of the street it sells everything from bread to childrens buggys, which were only 23 dollers which works out about 10 pound over here, and ideal when you have young children with you.

The hotel its self is a warm and friendly place, with 3 pools to choose from and a childrens play area its ideally situated in the middle of Universal and Disney with around the clock shuttle buses which take you to each park. Its excellent. There is also a bus stop outside the hotel which has these buses called the I-ride trolleys and for 75 cent it takes you all over to places like like the Florida mall even Sea world and Wet and Wild.

I would recommend this hotel to everyone I know and we will be staying there again next year. May was also an ideal time as it was not to busy and queues for rides were not as bad as they would be in July and August.

It was red hot and only rained 1 afternoon while we were there. We never really ate or went to the entertainment at the hotel but we heard that it was excellent.

I loved my stay at the Quality Inn Plaza and wish I could have stayed there longer.

We stayed in the Quality Inn Plaza for our holiday in May this year - This hotel is very friendly and after reading other reports on Holiday truths we can agree that the cleanliness was excellent - the hotel food was average as we had breakfast nearly every morning in the hotel and it was the same - however we chose to eat at sizzlers/ponderosa/mc donalds and burgerking several times in the evening due to the time we arrived home from the theme parks.

On our first night we were accomodated next to the I4 freeway and asked to be moved the following day there was no problems at all - the pools were clean and yes the towels are small however we took our own - we had a wonderful time in this hotel and will defintely be travelling back to Florida in the near future and will use this hotel again.

Our stay in the Quality Inn International was a pleasing experience from start to finish. On arrival we were give a room over looking I4, however due to the constant traffic noise we asked to moved to a room over looking International Drive, our request was dealt with instantly so a good nights sleep could be had by all.

The hotels location is top notch, your 10-15 mins from Universal and 20-25 mins from Disney, also with a 1 minute walk of the hotel is a sizzlers, go there for their eat as much as you like breakfast ($1.99 for kids and $3.99 for adults), a pizza hut, pointe orlando with a 21 screen cinema, and walgreens, which is a tad like a co-op, which is open 24 hours a day, and their a heck of a lot cheaper than the "lite-bites" shop.

The hotel is also ideally located for shopping a 5 minute drive away towards the opposite end of International is Belz outlet stores where theirs lots of bargain shopping to be had from stores like reebok, nike, timberland etc, remember to look out for coupon books where ever you go because several of these stores have discount coupons with in them.

The only minor gripes about the hotel are:

After our second dip in their middle pool we were told that it was the only non-heated pool, therefore if you want a warm dip use the pools at either end of the complex.

Bed sizes are double not king or queen as we've come to expect.

Only coffee in the room no tea.

Bring your own or buy your own bath towel beacause the ones in the rooms and at the pool are tiny.

Other than that I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone, and if we ever venture back out that way again we will be using them again.

The room was very clean and tidy with plenty of towels and luxuries like a fridge, soap etc.

The food was very good, we ate there a few times but mostly went out. We had a good range with the all-you-can-eat buffets, although I would have liked more labels on the food. The Lite Bite was reasonably priced and offered all kinds of snacks 24 hours a day.

The location was great, right near an I-Ride stop and a shopping centre. Also walking distance to many great restaurants.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the tour staff who were continually enquiring about the tours we were due to go on, making sure everything ran smoothly.

I didn't seek any entertainment as we were out most of the time.

I would definitely come back to this hotel again as the people there really cared about my stay.

The hotel is well situated on International Drive straight opposite Wonderworks upside down house.

We arrived on Sunday night and check in staff very friendly
room was ok but not the Hilton so don't expect too much.
Very basic, fridge, coffee maker no wardrobes just a hanging rail bathroom very small but at the end of the day it's only somewhere to sleep as your on the go all the time anyway at the park’s. There is a 24 hr Lite Bite and an onsite pub which is open until 12 midnight

There are three pools which was a bonus with three kids
in tow.

Rooms were cleaned everyday and if you were in your room the cleaners just came back later. The carpet was even shampooed while we were there.

All in all the hotel lived up to its 3 star rating

The hotel room was cleaned every day spotless.

The food was great value for money and with plenty of choice to keep even the funniest of eaters full, both breakfast and dinner.

The location for me was spot on. More or less at the start/end of Idrive right across from the Pointe Complex.

You could have a steady walk up I-drive to the busy parts and every thing was one way..left at the entrance to the hotel. Perfect

Now the entertainment. This is classed as a singer in the sports bar and the bar is rather a tad small. Not for the family I would point out. It has a play ground and a arcade room for the kids but thats really it.But you dont come to Florida with the kids to stay in the hotel do you ??? unless like us you arived the day before Hurricaine Jeane, and had to stay at the hotel for 2 days.(just our luck)

I found the hotel in general very clean, maid service everyday.
Although we stayed on a room only basis we did eat in the resturant occasionally which was a bit dissapointing compared to a lot of other hotels we have stayed in orlando.

Being located on I-Drive there is plenty of other choice of places to eat giving good value for money.
There is not a lot of entertainment in many of the hotels on I-Drive and this hotel is no different.

There is the Lite-Bite where you can sit and have a well deserved drink after your long hectic days discovering Disney etc.

The staff I found to be friendly and polite.
There are 3 swimming pools but I'm afraid this time we did experiance a few 'sunlounger huggers ' which we have never had before.

Fresh towels where always at hand at the poolside. We may go back again.

Check in Saturday evening. Receptionist confirmed we were in a no smoking room. However when I opened the door the strong smell obviously said different. Returned to reception to be told by another receptionist that it was a smoking room. Reallocated to a non smoking room (luckily there was one free as others had problems. Our travel agent had requested a NS room on booking).
The new room had not been cleaned since the previous guest had departed - it was 11pm when we checked in and the rooms have to be vacated by 11am. Dirty cups full of drinks in the room, beds not changed or made, wet towels on the floor. Maid came and serviced the room while I was there. This involved disposing of dirty linen, making beds (clean sheets but not blankets or bedspread!) clean towels and a quick hoover where you could see. The carpet behind cupboards, fridge etc had obviously not been cleaned for months. When I opened the cold food storage cupboard (not a fridge) there was mould inside. On sunday morning rang reception who contacted maintenance. They promised a new fridge by the following morning. By Monday evening still mouldy cupboard. Contacted maintenance who said they would just get housekeeping to clean it soon! I took mouldly shelf down to reception and 30 minutes later a new clean fridge was installed (you should have seen the dirt and dust behind the old one).

Room also had problem with Ants - despite many calls they persisted. Bathroom very dated with grubby bath and mould on the rings of shower curtain and grouting.

No kettle (what will us brits do with our morning cup of tea) just a coffee maker. Microwave. No crockery or cutlery, no storage cupboard, no clothes wardrobe just a hanging rail. No where to hand damp bathing costumes.

Parking also a problem. Often had to park a 5 minute walk from room - problem with tired sleepy children or lots of shopping.

Many staff speak poor english so communication can be a problem.

Plus side - well located for Parks. 3 swimming pools (all outdoors and 1 heated).

Did not use resturant as it was too smoky. Gift shop and lite bite shop expensive. Better off driving to Wal mart or Publix.

Ice making machine on some floors (g block floor 2 not working for whole 2 weeks but g block floor 4 was) - useful to fill the polystrine box you keep in the boot of your car for cold drinks all day.

Guest laundry - unfortunately the ones in G block are not working properly - cold water and driers cold air. Use ones in C block instead.

My family have stayed in this hotel on the 4 times we have been to orlando. We asked for it every time.

The last visit we were so disappointed. We had an idea it had been taken over? It was so different from the other times we went. The room was damp smelling and over run with black cockroaches and ants. The room had only one chair not two as stated, it took me three days to get another chair. The sink we did not use as the plug was missing it took three days to get a plug, staff were not much help.

I booked a room on the ground floor due to walking difficulties, I had a letter back saying this was fine no problem. On getting to the hotel we were at first put on the third floor, the person who wrote me the letter saying it was o.k. for a ground floor denied it was sent by him, even when I showed the letter to him.

The food in the hotel is poor and very bland, over priced, the Dele shop is a joke the staff do not care and are not very helpful.

We are looking at the best western next time we go to Orlando.

The hotel staff are super and always willing to help.Wasnt much entertainment for kids mine are occupied by the pool.

We stayed at the Quality Inn Plaza in November 1999. We found the hotel clean and the staff friendly. We spent most of our time out and about visiting the various parks.
The location of the hotel was good, about a 15 minute drive to Disney World and 10 mins to Sea World.
No fridges were supplied at that time which meant a nightly visit to the ice machine located on the floor below.
The restaurant food was of an acceptable standard, although we only ate there occasionally.
The only issue we encountered was when checking out, we were asked to pay a telephone bill which confused us as we had not used the telephone. The maid had apparently been making local calls whilst cleaning our room.
Ultimately the hotel is a good base for a busy holiday.

when i visited this hotel i enjoyed every minute of it and would definteley visit it again. the hotel was very clean and tidy, with maids changing the sheets frequently and towels changed every 2 days. we only ate in the hotel 1 night, the food ok not much to choose from for vegetarians, otherwise it was adequate. the location of the hotel was excellent, a bus ride away from the theme parks and right next to the gift shops and restaurants!!! the staff at the hotel were friendly, saying good morning to you etc, no problems with the staff what so ever. didnt see much entertainment, as went out most nights.
