Arrived at the hotel, greeted with drinks and bags taken to room, hotel looked great. Asked for sea view which we got. Tipped bell boy a couple of dollars.

Room was perfect, massive bed, bathroom with everything, stocked up fridge and on the top floor overlooking the beach.

Hotel gardens and surroundings were kept spotlessely clean, groundsmen working all day. Cleaner, Ana, arrived everyday stocked our fridge and room was left looking great. I left the cleaner a dollar a day sometimes with a note for what drinks we needed.

Food in the Italian restaurant was perfect especially the chicken, American/Mexixan restaurant also excellent with huge pieces of beef. Windows the main buffet restaurant breakfasts were repetitive and is mainly continental style. Lunch however always had a quality selection and dinner was sometimes hit or miss. Beach bar had a half decent selection of snacks and had a beach BBQ once a week which was great.

Many staff were always happy wanting to talk and get you to join in with the activities. I wasnt bothered about doing the activities during the day andjust kept telling Jean Ally no, bad leg and all that... Jean Ally as well as many others worked tirelesley(?) throughout the day and always made us laugh. Most staff spoke English and taught you a few nice Spanish phrases!

Entertainment could be quite lame, Kevin Adair was useless in the open although in the second week inside, weather bad, his tricks were very good. Also hit or miss with the rest. theres always the bar...

Wouldnt visit again as lots more places to visit but a top quality hotel, heard that this hotel may be being used more for Spanish tourists in 2006 so may be better to look at Sunscape The Beach Punta Cana instead.

Returned 24th March 2005 - hotel & facilities excellent.

Ground floor room was a little gloomy but didn't spend much time it anyway. Double beds comfy. Plenty of space.

Couldn't fault the resort - really good choice of restaurants.

Staff happy to help - always smiling.

The hotel was very clean and there were always workmen about dealing with the maintainence of the hotel.

The food was very nice indeed with a variety to choose from. The location of the hotel was a little disappointing as there was nothing to visit just outside the resort.

The staff were friendly enough although could do with a little more smiles. The entertainment was good for the first week but then the second week was just a repeat of the first so that was also a little disappointing.

The weather was a bit of a let down and there was nothing to do in the resort when the weather was bad as all activities were cancelled.

It was difficult to go for a drink also during the day in bad weather as the only bar open was outside. It was very boring when it rained.

It also sometimes knocked out the cable in the room so with nothing to do and no TV to watch, with kids, it could become quite hard work to keep occupied.

When we booked this holiday I can honestly say I was not particularly keen. I had been to the North of the DR before and was not overly impressed, but we wanted to go somewhere nice and warm and this was the best deal available. Well I am so glad we went. The hotel was fantastic. I had read many mixed reviews - mainly from people casting doubt on the beach - quite frankly I dont know what there problem was the beach in my opinion was gorgeous. Soft white sand, clear blue sea - really beautiful. The grounds of the hotel were also beautiful, kept spotlessly clean and tidy by groundsmen working all day long. The restaurants were the best A/I restaurants I have been to - all great - also you did not have to pre book, just go along and wait for a table (the longest we waited was 20 minutes). The staff were brilliant they worked so hard to make your stay enjoyable and always had a smile on their face. All in all this was a fabulous hotel on a beautiful beach with everything you could need for a fantastic holiday. I would go back there in a shot.
