| said: Just back from our week at Turbo club! we had an amazing time!
On arriving we recieved a nice, friendly, fast greeting and check in, which was great after a delayed flight.
The whole complex was kept very clean, rooms were cleaned every day, with fresh towels every 2nd day.
The bungalows were a good size and we had a good view!
As for the food we felt there was a good selection and always found a good meal to eat! As we were there for New Year they held a big gala dinner which they put a lot of effort into and also a great new years party!
We enjoyed the entertainment and the entertainment staff were very friendly and made the effort to chat to all the guests once it was over.
We were made to feel very welcome and already talking about going back again later in the year!

| said: On arrival at Turbo Club about 0230hrs, we were welcomed by a pleasant reception area. Very warm, no air con.
After the booking process (quite lengthy) we found our room. Large enough for 3 of us and nice and clean although the toilet/shower room did smell a bit. Balconey was ample for the lazy evenings after the bar had shut!
Pool area was always tidied by one chap every night who always put the sunbeds away.
Food generally was dire. Plenty of it though. Salad and fruit was the main diet although I did manage to make breakfast a couple of times. They can't cook sausages or eggs!! Stick with the cereals.
We had been to Maspalomas many times and it was the second time on this complex area. (Koala Suites last time) We found the location perfectly OK. Walk to the market, Holiday world, Faro centre. Taxis and buses cheap. 7 euros for 2 adults to Mogan!!
Hotel staff generally ok. A special word for the morning pool area cleaners. Always willing to wave and a quick "Hola" from the balcony.
Watch out for Mr "Talk Small". Woe betide anyone speaking louder than a fly sneezing! He creeps around saying "talk Small" talk Small". Butt of many jokes.
Entertainment was pitifull. A snake charmer we had seen 6 years before, and an excuse for an underwear fashion show was it! Christian (great lad) was draughted in as a clown but that went downhill when the kids took over. He also had to provide his own Water polo ball and darts!!

Rooms and linen changed enough but food was very bland, unless you liked pork!
Food was edible but I don't think you would pay for it.
Local drinks were available but very poor, I think non alchololic lager would be stronger.
Time for AI were to the second and the eagle eyed staff watched every minute.
Asked the reception to phone a taxi on several occasions but was told to walk to rank?
Entertainment very good for the children throughout the day
nighly entertainment the normal boring quizzes and man v women competitions.
3 euro for taxis to centres which were all good fun
Ok but would not return, get what you pay for!

| said: Cleanliness - Our room was cleaned everyday and towels changed every other day. Cleaners where always very pleasent.
Hotel Food - Ill start by saying you get what you pay for. We are the most fussiest eaters in the world and we always found something to eat every meal. Also if you do not like anything in the hotel I recommend that you go to a place called Caringos it is on the roundabout by the hotel. Sliced steak or chicked and chips for 3 euro (£2.40)Bargin
Hotel Location - This location is was really ideal for us it was really quiet but the Yumbo centre and Kasbah in Playa del Ingles was only 3 euro in a taxi. Also about 500 mtrs walk there is a place called Holiday World this is a kids funpark with rides bowling parrot and clown shows Chinese room, American diner plus a British pub for all you people missing home.
Just at the back of the hotel is the weekly market held on a Wednesday and Saturday.
The water park is 3 euro in a taxi. There are 2 pools one with a childrens pool, a very cold jacuzzi ,crazy golf, kids paly area, supermarket & free bus to the beach 4 times a day. Fantastic location.
Hotel Staff - Hotel staff are really nice people very helpful and polite.
Entertainment - This is the old down fall about this hotel is that the entertainment is not very good. Nearly everynight was bingo or a quiz. One night a week they have a snake sho, but have been told that this does get better in the busy season.
Would I visit this hotel again? - Yes in fact we have already booked for 10 people to visit the Turbo club for Christmas and New Year.
All I say if your reading this before you book then if you want 5 star then go and book it and pay for it. This hotel is very simple and nice.

| said: We arrived at reception in the small hours of Sunday morning. Although the receptionist spoke no English whatsoever he was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. He even had food and drink available for us after the bar and restaurant was closed.
With regards to the all inclusive food, in our opinion we believed this to be of a very high standard considering the cost of our package holiday. Even beef steak was available one evening, and a great amount of choice was apparent for all tastes always including salad, fish, pasta and meat dishes.
Our room was impeccably clean, spacious and modern. Our only gripe that at the beginning of February we were cold with minimal blankets to cover us up at night.
We only experienced the entertainment on the last night, which was an hour disco for the children and a sports quiz shortly after which were both fun. A mile walk and you have a purpose built Funfair, Bowling and bar complex which was great for our 4 year old son and us alike.
With temperatures getting up to 28 deg in Feb we found this was a fantastic winter break in the sun and would thoroughly recommend the Turbo Club Apartments. :-)

| said: The hotel was set quite far away from the beach. There was a bus that was free from the hotel and taxis were also very cheap for 2-3 euros so this was not a problem.
The hotel staff were very friendly and even accomodating late in the evening of arrival. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were cleaned regularly.
The food was edible but very limited selection and the same foods were available every meal time. Breakfast was always the same and lunch and the evening meals were the same dishes. After three days we ate out every day. I would not go back to this hotel all inclusive. I would however go back self catering as food locally is very cheap.
On the day of checking out you are not allowed to eat or drink at the restuarant after 12pm and lunch begins at 12.30pm. If you wish to stay on for the day it costs 12 euros per person to eat lunch and have drinks.
There was a kids club during the day but there was no entertainment in the evenings, very disappointed with this aspect.

The sheets on my bed were see through and had at least 5 holes in them. We ate breakfast and lunch there every day out of necessity we hadn't brought enough extra cash to eat out all the time.
We tried to eat in the restaurant every night but only managed the first two nights. The next 5 nights we ate out at a cost of about €50 for the two of us every night. Not a planned expense as you can imagine.
This has put us off Gran Canaria altogether and we won't be back.

| said: I have just got back from a week away at the Turbo club and I thought I should share my opinions.
A lot of people have been saying that the club caters mainly for the german guests, this is inaccurate. There is entertainment at night for both, Spanish, English and German backgrounds involving a Kids Disco and adult entertainment in forms of shows and quiz's to follow.
The All inclusive bar is well stocked with choices of brandy, whiskeys, rums etc, and with friendly bar staff who can say no to the odd tipple.
The food I found to be that of a high standard, the platter covered the majority of food groups with salads and ice cream, adding a little somehting more. The Accomodation was adiquate, although in the winter months the room did get cold, extra blankets were needed.
As for the complax itself, there are two more than adequate pools and a small jacuzzi for those with a need to relax. There is also music playing most of the day to add atmospehere along with additional entertainment in the forms of inter-complex competitions for all ages including mini-golf, football and tabletennis.
The resort would suit any family as well as the younger generation. If you are like myself and enjoy a good night out, the hotel is a great place to start, have a few drinks here and someting to eat, and your going to save yourself a huge ammount of Euro's when concidering the local Alternatives.
Overall I would give a 4 out of 5, and would consider visiting the complex again.

| said: Me and my girlfriend traveled to the turbo club in november for some winter sun, the hotel was very nice looking and very very clean, we got to our rooms and was very impressed with what we had it was spotless and the bathroom was wicked!
The food, Total crap springs to mind, i ended up eating chip rolls most nights and eating out, my girlfriend liked the food but then i am a bit picky, it's not to bad though just down the road are some wonderful places to eat and it's very cheap so we got on with it.
The entertainment was OK the two guys doing it all were fantastic, but given what they had to work with it was poor, they did alot of things and everything was english, german, spanish.
The staff were poor didn't seem to care much just wanted the day to be over so they could go home, one day it rained very hard and all the gunk form the pool area came out and turned the pool black, they said it would be sorted by friday (this was tuesday) but having 10+ angry english men at reception soon put that right! :)
I wouldn't call it ALL Inclusive, due to the fact you could only eat at certain times a day and the bar was short on choices too drink in my opionon.
Would i go back....No, only due to the All inclusive part i know friends that have been to other places where they have snack bars and stuff open 24/7, too me thats an all inclusive!

Everything was true, the meals were just slops, the drink was rank, we tried it for three days but it still was the same, get a taxi outside the area and EAT OUT.
The hotel is also a crime hot spot with several people getting broke into whilst we were there.
The staff I also felt were not bothered about us, standing in a queue for 15 minutes to get a (maximum) 2 plastic beakers of awful Spanish lager. As you can tell from this report we will not be back.

As we had booked last minute and had a very good bargain we wouldn't have been to disappointed if the place had been below par. How wrong we were!
The complex was very clean and the staff worked all day to keep it that way.
The food was always hot, there was always plenty and a good selection and the restaurant area was spotless.
At the time we stayed, late September, the kids were back at school so it was quite quiet there, what it was like during school holidays I couldn't say. We had the pool to ourselves. Yes it is popular with German people, but they do holiday as well, it`s not just the Brits.
At meal times the drinks are served in big jugs so you can help yourself, but when the bar is open you can only get two drinks at a time, no problem get two go back to your table and then go get two more it`s all inclusive!!!!
The entertainment could have been better but the two guys in charge did a very good job, can`t be easy trying to do a quiz/bingo in 5 different languages! Sorry if I am going on a bit but it just ticks me off when the Brits go away only to pick faults and put others off going. ENJOY!!!!!!

| said: After reading the reviews on this site before we went away, we were a little apprehesive.
However, we decided to make the most of it as it was our only holiday away this year.
We could not fault the cleanliness of our bungalow, or the complex itself.
The food was a let down to say that it was supposed to be all inclusive. We only ate in the hotel once, after that we went into Playa d'Ingles to eat every night.
I would disagree with the term 'all inclusive'. It was full board with a few selected drinks in plastic cups from the bar-free!
The hotel was located in a quiet area of Masapolomas- however, this is what we wanted. A short taxi ride into playa d'ingles costs around 3 euros if you want nice restaurants & bars.
I personally found the hotel staff rather rude. Once, I was stood at the pool bar for 12 minues whilst the bar staff carried on having a private conversation despite seeing me stood there.
The entertainment was poor, mostly catered for germans but we made our own entertainment and had an amazing holiday. We will be returning to Gran canaria next march, however, not to the Turbo Club!!

| said: Well what can I say? Lets start with the room...Apartments are very nice and clean, could not fault them. Although we were "all inclusive" you might find the cooker very useful. The TV was pay-per-view though (yep you heard)!
The place is only a short taxi ride from playa del ingles(just a few euros) & trust me it's a wise investment to avoid the entertainment. On the other hand, it also a good distance from the airport & if you dont have transfers included like myself, then you can add on 25euros each way for a taxi!!!! Bear that in mind folks!
The food is bearable but not exactly al a carte. It all tastes the same aswell!!! All inclusive isnt what it seems either, its three set times per day but then you get to go to the bar for "selected" unlimited drinks in plastic cups.
The Turbo club isnt as bad as people have made out, its just full of germans & thats what it caters for. If you are looking for a cheap place with no frills then look no further. But if you intend to live & breathe this place for your entire stay then please rethink.

Food plentiful but very bland.
PLEASE be warned, get a safe and use it and make sure you double lock your door, even if sitting by the pool. They will tell you it is your fault you were robbed if you only pull the door behind you to lock it!
Only had the room cleaned for first two days, after that we had the used towels folded once.
Evening entertainment consists of German europop or ---wait for it--- A parrot show (take an umbrella).
Not too far away from town and taxis very cheap and quick.
Pool is good and it has a supermarket on site.

| said: I had read the reviews before arriving in Gran Canaria and was a little worried. But when we arrived it was nothing like described by others. The 2 pools were very clean and nice - 1 heated, lots of sun beds. Food was nice - we got 3 different meat options, 1 or 2 fish options, pasta and potato options, salad, soup, at least 3 different veg every dinner and evening. For the price I paid to stay here I was very pleasantly surprised. Although food service stops at 8.30 at night - I was never hungry after then anyway.
Drinks - 2 nice bars - very good service. Friendly staff.
My only critism for the whole week is that the hotel is in a quiet location, although they do provide free buses to the beach. Taxis were also very cheap.
I can see the confusion when arriving at night when the entrance taxis drop you at is closed but if you just walk round the outside of the complex there is another entrance.
Germans - yes there were lots. But they probrobly felt the same about us.
My husband and I really enjoyed our holiday, and feel it was very good value for money.

| said: Generally our holiday ranked as "OK". The problem we had when we were there was that our apartment was broken into and burgled. Unbeknown to us, we were just next in a long line of burgleries, being at least one a night, but not even the rep there thought it was a good idea to mention this to anyone. The police admitted to us that they have lots of problems there.
When we returned to our apartment to find we had no valuable possessions or money left, no one wanted to help. Even the rep just gave a hugh sigh as if it was another thing he didn't really want to deal with. Thanks First Choice, but I don't think we'll travel with you again.
The person who wrote on one of these reviews that it is not really all inclusive but full board and drinks is absolutely correct. You are limited to when you eat as there are set times. The food isn't great. Very plain and stuff you saw at lunchtime you would see again in the evening. Many people just went out of the hotel to eat because they couldn't stand it or had upset stomachs from the food.
With at least 90% of the people there being German, EVERYTHING is catered for them. The food is typically German, the staff don't speak much English but know German pretty well.
The three bits of entertainment during the week were not only diabolical, but were all done in German. We would sit there with a few other English people and try and guess what was going on. And when you worked out what they were saying or doing, it just made you cringe as it was so awful. Still at least it made me go to bed early and catch up on some much needed sleep!
The rooms were very clean but the outside areas lacked attention. There was a dirty plate by the pool for the whole week we were there and is probably still there now.
The pools were nice. The Germans tended to congregate around one and the English around another.
It is nowhere near the beach but they do operate free buses to and from the beach. However, the times they run make sure you miss a meal at the apartments (which isn't necessarily a bad thing!).
In my view, there must be better holiday deals out there, so don't book this one unless you have no other choice.

Anyway we arrived at the Turbo Club we were not to sure what to think as it was about 12am, we checked in an were taken to our rooms, and we were very happy with them.
The bedrooms were all ok, the bathroom was A+++, and when we opened the back doors, WOW the holiday started, there was the swimming pool with the bar set in the middle, it looked top.
In the morning we woke up and the sun was very hot, the food "breakfast" we were not to happy with it really the overall food was not to good either, but we made do with the drinks an food.
We had a great time and even went to Puerto Rico, and Playa del Ingles.
We're all going back this year 19/5/2005, will post new review when we are home we are paying £265 all inclusive with Thompson.

The let down of the holiday was that the food was terrible, so terrible that we ate out every night - it defited the object of going All Inclusive! The breakfasts were awfull - all of the boiled eggs were chucked in a tray in there shells and left to go cold!
Also there were no snacks etc throughout the day - other than afternoon tea which included lots of CAKE! There were no ice creams etc for young children.
The entertainment was absolutley awful! All in German , nothing much for the English.
The hotel staff were rude, they would talk to the German but make no acknowledgement of the English. they even refused to serve two brits saying that they were not All inclusive and to go into town and use a bar!
They had the silliest rules of only two drinks per person which is ridiculous - what if you were a family of four??? A couple with a young baby had to keep going back for their child as they could only get two drinks at a time.
The pool was very nice & alway very clean.
A big down fall was that to get a sun bed by the pool you had to leave your towl on a bed all week!
NOT GOOD!
The only good thing about this holiday is that we managed to meet up with some lovely people who we will be seeing again but gladly not at the Turbo Club!

| said: The cleanliness of the accomadation was faultless, with cleaners attending to our bungalow 5 days out of 7. All though it is sold as an all inclusive holiday dont be mistaken, it is not...it is basically full board with free drinks..there are set times for the meals and if you miss them then it is tough because there are no snacks available in between. The other thing that lets the place down is the fact that it is totally german orientated..all entertainment is in german therefore would not recommend it to anyone who is travelling with children, however if you like being woke up every morning by german party songs being played at full blast then this is the place for you! Alcoholic and soft drinks were available from 8am til midnight however their selection was quite poor with only gin, brandy, vodka, wine and beer...and it is not good stuff either, all local products..Yak! if you want a mixer with your drink though fear not cause there is a selection of coke, lemonade...and that is it!! Still they were very generous with the measures..all in all as we got it cheap we couldnt grumble, but if you are booking a holiday up as your main or only one of the year i would think seriously before booking here..

| said: Firstly, the Turbo Club isn't a hotel, it is a colection of 2 storey bungalows set in a 'bullring' style in planted gardens, with most bungalows facing the pool.
The pool and jacuzzi are very clean as is the general pool area.
The rooms are spacious and clean, the only downside is the lack of air conditioning. Having just left the resort yesterday when the temp was in the 30's.
The food is plentiful and, although the menu does become a bit repetitive, there is on average 6 or 7 main course variations at each meal.
The staff are friendly and polite and, if they do get a bit grumpy, they are there from early morning until late in the evening.
The biggest failing of this complex is the entertainment. I have given it 1 star because that was the lowest I could select. I would not recommend the complex to anyone with kiddies.
Although set in a quiet area, which I personally found a bonus, most of the resort is within a €3 cab ride.

| said: On arrival at the Turbo Club were dropped off by taxi at the back entrance, which was locked up as it was 4am. After half an hour panicking we found the main reception, which wasn't signposted. The guy on reception hardly spoke a word of English, which isn't very helpful at all when you're half asleep and have no idea where you are.
Got to our room, which we were slightly unimpressed with. Woodchip wallpaper wouldn't be my choice for a so called 3* hotel. Went into the bathroom and found a cockroach literally the size of a mouse in the shower tray. Not a good start.
The next morning things were a bit better. The restaurant was ok, if not a bit like a canteen. The food was edible, but no veggie food. I stuck to salad most days and nights. There were free drinks all day until 12 at night and the vodka measures were very generous.
Entertainment was terrible. It was all in German, even though 75 percent of the guests were English. The shows were really cheesy and made me cringe, especially when the reps did a rendition of 'Starlight Express', one guy on roller skates miming (not even singing!)to a German version of the musical. Not surprisingly, nobody shouted for an encore.
'Super-bingo' was every night and was in German too, they translate the numbers into English, if they can remember or be bothered
Quite a few people had things pinched from their rooms. Keep your windows shut if you're going there. Also, be careful when you get a safe, they charged us 27 euros (10 euro returnable deposit), but two ladies that arrived as we were leaving told us the night receptionist tried to charge them 40 euros.
One night, what I can only describe as smelly BROWN water started coming up our shower. You can guess what it was. They guy from reception had the cheek to ask my boyfriend to wade through the mess and turn the water off.
It was a good holiday, we made the most of it & hired a car from the reception. It a beautiful island with some unbelievable scenery.
The hotel did have some things going for it, it had a nice pool, Jacuzzi and children's pool. The bar staff and restaurant staff were friendly and as mentioned before the booze was good (only the wine was cheap rubbish).
Apparently in a few months the hotel will be dominated by English guests so I'd guess the entertainment will pick up a bit. I have nothing against Germans, but if I hear another German party song I'm going to cry.
I wouldn't recommend the Turbo Club to anyone, but one the whole it wasn't the worst place to stay. We paid quite a lot of money, so I felt a bit ripped off. The hotel wasn't really a 3 star place and I could have gone somewhere 10 times better for the same money. My case got lost on the flight home too. Talk about insult to injury?!

| said: When we arrived early in the morning there was confusion about out arrival and it took half an hour for us to get into our room, the security guard didn't speak any english and told us to return in the morning, where we sorted it out with an english speaking receptionist all most immedietly.
The accomodation was excelent even though fans were sold out so it was difficult to sleep it was clean, and well kept. Purchasing a safe is strongly recomended due to some theifs breaking into rooms.
Not all inclusive the meals were set times and there was no snack bar or ice creams allthough drinks were available all day 8am while midnight, no vegetarian option was available.
The location was quiet and it cost around 3 euros to get to playa des ingles which is where all the nightlife was. (returning late and you may be locked out of the hotel)
Hotel staff were happy to help, but german was a strong language among the staff so difficult to take their informtaion in. The maids weren't impressed if you were in your room while they were cleaning and you sort of felt obliged to just go for a swim to get out the room.
Entertainment ... not much to be said, through the day there was darts and waterball for kids, again at night a minidisco (in german) for the kids and then for the adults "super bingo" - every night! again all in german even though most of the tourists were english.
I would definatly revist the hotel again but would take more money so i could get out at night instead of struggling to stay awake watching german super bingo.

| said: When we arrived there was confusion about our booking - only one room had been booked and as the reception was manned at night by a caretaker that didn't speak a word of english it was very difficult to sort anything out until next morning, so we had to make do - next morning the reception were very pleasant and sorted everything out giving us 2 rooms together.
The food was very poor - it was not really all inclusive as there was no snack bar or ice cream. There was no food apart from meal times. When we complained the rep said it was "full board with free drinks".
The hotel was geared up only for Germans, all the entertainment was in German, making even Bingo difficult!
The Hotel was clean - but we did have cock roaches in our room - we complained and the hotel staff did there best to clear them.
The pool was very good, as was the weather, and we did have a good holiday. If the food was improved and more english spoken it would have been a great hotel.
