Staffs were very helpful and polite.
The rooms are very spacious and clean.
Was given a free courtesy room for an hour at the end of our stay to freshen up, as we were not being picked up until 7.30pm.
The pools are clean but cold. It didn't stop our daughter playing in there at every opportunity.
Restaurant is large, clean and there is plenty of variety, if you're a big meat eater. We did struggle a bit due to some of us were vegetarian.
Entertainment was ok, they all tried extremely hard and the kids loved them.
Location is great, far enough away to not be disturbed at night, but close enough to go out in the evenings. Beach was just across the bridge.
Downside to this hotel is the sunbeds, if you want a sunbed in the sun for the whole day you had to be prepared to put towels down by no later than 7am.
I would recommend this hotel to all it is certainly one of the best hotels I could see in Sunny Beach.

We stayed for one week and didnt want to go home.
The food was quite good and while we was there they had a Bulgarian food theme night which was delicious.
The location was fine and there where alot of shops selling fake designer clothes.
People around Bulgaria are really kind everybody seemed to be treated the same.
The sea is lovely and very clear.
The hotel was good and was cleaned daily.
While we was in bulgaria we went to TJ's Pub several times and the woman who seemend to be the only waitress there remembered our order each day.
The entertainment in the hotel was Ok but the thing that made it special was that the enteratainers tried there hardest .

| said: We stayed at this hotel half board for 2 weeks and found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful.
The food was alright but sometimes we found it hard to tell what the meat was as they used a lot of sauces. There is a lot of salads and fresh fruit and tinned fruit available as for breakfasts the omlettes are to die for and we all tried them they cook them while you wait.
It was my 50th birthday when I was there and the staff provided a cake for me also my daughter arranged for ballons and banners to be put up and a large cake to be provided at the evening meal and the food manager brought the cake and the waiting staff sang happy birthday it was a lovely treat.
The entertainment team are absoulty brilliant and tried to please everybody with shooting darts and cocktail games only for adults as well as 2 childrens teams during the day. They then put on a show everynight for family entertainment and tried to get most people envolved. There was waterpolo also everyday.
The pools were very clean and we were in swimming everyday with no worries as there was a lifeguard on duty by the pools.
Could recommend this hotel to anyone and would be happy to stat here again.

| said: we booked to stay at this holiday at the beginning of 2007 for August 2007 and my main needs were for a nice clean child friendly hotel as i was traveling with my 10month old twins, the first choice brochure stated that there was a childrens club and they took children under the age of 1 so i was happy and all looked good online and in the brochure etc.
my first impressions were excellent we were warmly greeted by the hotel staff and a porter helped us to our room, there was no tea/coffee facilities in the room to my disappointment so the porter kindly got me some boiled water for the twins so i could make them a bedtime bottle which was very kind of him as we had arrived late and everything was closed.
The room was lovely and spacious more then i could of ever expected.
But day 1 was where the problems started we left our room to go down to reception to get a safety deposit box for our money the cleaner was cleaning the bathroom so we just left her to it mistake 1 we left the money hidden in our hand luggage bag, we got the safety deposit had breakfast and returned to our cleaned room, went to get the money out of the bag and it was GONE we reported it to reception who took 2 hours to send someone to our room to check the key card machine as apparently they could get a read out of who had entered the room which showed the cleaner and us.
the hotel refused to question the cleaner and wouldnt take the matter any further so we reported it to the First choice rep whos attitude was these things happen just get on with your holiday easy for her to say when 600pounds had just been taken from our room.
the facilities at the hotel were awful no creche for my twins as stated in the brochure and also no evening babysitting facility which was stated in the brochure and also in the paperwork brochure at the hotel.
the evening entertainment was very amature like and not entertaining at all.
The hotel is in an ideal location so luckily we wasnt to far a walk to go out and about to find entertainment it was just disappointing as we didnt want to take our twins far of an evening and i was hoping we could just watch the evening entertainment from out balcony.
I have marked the staff as a 3 but other then the cleaner who after our money had gone missing did a dreadful job of cleaning our room, the cots and sheets were never changed i had to request it from reception bathroom and toilet werent cleaned, she used to come into our room and literally leave again but other then her the other staff deserve a 5 they were excellent in the dining room always getting us highchairs they wouldnt let me clean the mess that my kids made, the food was very good always fresh and a good selection i only marked it as a 4 as my husband got very unwell after eating the fish but me and the kids who didnt have fish were perfectly fine,
i would stay at this hotel for me its over priced it dosent have the extra touches i would expect for what i paid.
theres alot nicer hotels in the area that i would say would be a lot better then this one... shocking because i know iberostar usually are very good hotels.

| said: hotel is just about a four star, nothing more. it is clean and comfortable. Facilities are average for this standard of hotel, adequate gym although the absence of treadmills is surprising. The rooms are again ok, no coffee/tea facilities, again surprising. NO tv/dvd room, again......
The pools areas are very busy and crowded. You HAVE to reserve loungers(towels) or you will not get a lounger. In fact the lack of loungers is a problem and I witnessed on two occasions people taking parosols and beds sneakily while their users were elsewhere. This led to rather heated arguments when said users arrived back. Not what you want or need to see while on holiday.
Staff are on the most part affable but not as much as they might. One or two individuals are actually rude and unhelpful. One waiter when asked for drinks said abruptly that he was finished and made no attempt to organise someone else to take my order. He just stood there talking with other members of staff. By the way on ordering drinks it semms the waiting staff want you to leave a tip each time. On one occasion we had left our money in the bedroom so we decided to charge the drinks to our rooms. The waiter seemed aggreived when we did not offer tip on receiving our drinks. for the rest of the meal he left the plates from our buffet pile up on the table untill we just staarted to laugh at it and decided to see how far he would let it go so.......at the end of our meal we could hardly see each other with all the plates, bowls, galsses on the table. Not what you would expect froma 4 star establishmnet.(btw we did tip every night other than that night).
The entertainmant staff try very hard and we couldnt fault them in their efforts but was rather dull and unengageing. (if you like lip synching to musicals then your in luck). The drinks at the hotel are very costly compared to outside and the menu limited.
The location is good just a short stroll to the beach and nightlife.
All in all i have to say i would not go back to this hotel or resort as there was nothing to make it stand out. Adequate and no more.

| said: First visit to Bulgaria and to an Iberostar hotel. Not disappointed on either front.
As we'd read in earlier reports, the hotel experience from start to finish was excellent - from efficient registration(chilled soft drink on arrival), daily maid service, prompt maintenance service(shower needed a repair once), attentive and courteous bar/restaurant staff, enthusiastic animation team, to checking-out in the middle of the night (with coffee provided in lieu of breakfast). Nothing appeared too much hastle.
Animation team did a good job - although we'd no kids, we feel that families will get a good deal out of the various kids groups/activities.
Public areas were kept spotlessly clean - there was a cleaner on the go at 2.30am when we left!
The pool area was kept clean also - beware the temperature difference between the two pools - you've been warned!
Buffet food supply was extremely varied, plentiful, hot (when necessary!)and even a fuss-pot like me managed to have something different every night of the entire two weeks - putting on 4 pounds in the process! We'd planned to eat out on a couple of ocassions but quite frankly there was no need. Had no need to buy/sample the food from the outside bar.
Situation in the resort could hardly be better - a very short distance from the beach and any amount of night-time activities you could want. Beware the wooden bridge to the beach though - a proverbial death trap to feet.
Not much more to say - excellent for what we went on holiday for - good old R & R in very decent surroundings/ambiance indeed.
PS - Balkan Holidays were spot-on too - no flight delays, no baggage lost, transfers ok, orientation meeting ok, rep was seen at hotel when he was meant to be there, (2) excursions were trouble free.

The room was excellent again clean and very large. The food is buffet style which we found very varied and excellent.
The staff are a little too keen to clear your empty plates away but are very friendly. The First Choice rep was excellent and was very helpful and knowledgeable.
This is a four star hotel which we would say is a four star hotel in everyway. We would go back again without a doubt and hope visitors to this site find this review helpful.

| said: My partner and I have recently travelled back from a week staying at this hotel. It was the first time we had stayed half board and would probably not do this again.
We could not fault the hotel, we arrived there at approx 5 in the morning and were told not to worry about luggage as the porter would bring them up although I think they expect a tip which is very difficult as didnt have any change having just arrived at that time in morning.
Breakfast is between 7am and 10am and there is a wide variety of choice which should suit everyones tastes.
There is cooked options, plenty of fruit, cereals, juices ,and you can have omelettes made to order, also get free coffee or tea and there are fruit teas available as well.
Evening meal is served between 6pm and 9pm and again had variety of food available, they had a bulgarian night while we were there so served traditional bulgarian food that night. Every night there were 2 different soups available as well as plenty of choice of salad and pasta and chips if you wanted them, good selection of sweets, too good in fact!! Ate at the pool side bar once it was cheap but not too much choice.
There is an Indian restaurant attached to the hotel which you have to pay for we ate there once but wasnt really worth the money. There are plenty of places to eat in sunny beach if you fancy a change and very cheap to eat and drink. Most bars have happy hours on for most of night if not day!! so extremely cheap to drink which was a shame as i was pregnant but still plenty of choic of non alcoholic cocktais which was good.
Rooms were very spacious and we payed for a sea view which we got but other hotels in front partly blocked the view.Room had satelite television which had bbc world, cmm , mtv, fashion tv as well as bulgarian channels such as BTV which showed english films which was good. Maids came in room every day and in general the hotel was kept very clean the maids always seemed to be cleaning somewhere.
The entertainment team worked every day { we never joined in though} starting at 10am they did water aerobics twice a day, as well as bingo and quizes in the afternoon, and then they did a kids disco every night followed by a show. We tended to eat breakfast sat outside and it was a bit annoying when entertainment team began there morning routine as did same dance routine to get peoples attention with same songs played every day!!
The hotel has a small gym which is free my partner used it once, it is pretty basic but ok to keep fit.
We both had a massage while we were there which is highly recommended I had a full body massage which only cost approx £16 {bargain}. There is also a beauty salon there which is also very cheap I had my nails done as well as my hair cut for half the price it would cost me at home.
Hotel has 2 pools one of which ws indoor but not heated. There is a jacuzzi pool ouside but didnt work at all while we were there.
The hotel is supposed to have an internet corner which it states in the brochure but when we asked where it was at reception they said there wasn't one in the hotel but was an internet cafe 5mins down the road.We used this a couple of times and it was extremely cheap to use.
The hotel is situated right in the centre of Sunny Beach with the beach being about 100 metres away just across the road.
All in all a good 4 star hotel which I would recommend.

| said: We have been going to Bulgaria for a number of years and I can tell you that this hotel is certainly the best we have stayed in.
Immediately you get in reception you appreciate you are in a first class hotel as everything is immaculate. Cleaners work throughout the day and night to ensure standards never slip.
The room was spacious, carpeted and well furnished. Plenty of storage space and beds were very comfortable. Facilities included air conditioning,TV and telephone and most balconies face the swimming pool area. The bathroom was equiped with a hair dryer, bath and shower and all toiletries are free. Towels are changed every day, if you so wish. You can also get towels for the pool at reception.
The hotel has 2 main outdoor pools, 4 children's and a heated indoor pool. There is a animation team working from 10am until 10.15pm daily. They provide entertainment for the kids and adults alike. After dinner they also have shows like Grease, Saturday Night Fever, Celtic Fire etc which were well attended.
Its position in the resort is ideal being right in the heart of the resort and about 100yds to the beach. Abundance of restaurant's,bars and shops in the immediate vicinity.
One thing that sets this hotel apart from others we have stayed in Bulgaria was the food. Absolutely superb. Huge choice for breakfast both continental and fry ups. The evening meals starts with a choice of soups, salads and there is at least one dish each everyday of pork, beef, chicken, turkey, fish and pasta to choose from. ( even had steak pie one night ) You can also get fresh omlettes made to taste.
I have yet to see a bad report on this hotel and can recommend it without any doubt.

The hotel is spotless and the cleaning staff wonderful. The food is good and the staff in the restaurant very pleasant. Its in a great spot just across from the beach but far enough away from the more lively spots. The animation team are very hard working although the kids club was dissapointing as was the size of the play area for such a large complex. I must say I enjoyed the entertainment as it was really amateur and the children certainly did. Sunbeds are harder to get than hens teeth with groups putting towels down early morning and not using them till late in the afternoon there are plenty of notices asking people not to this which are ignored. One word of warning book the extra day in the room early it costs 100 lev which is quite expensive but a lot of UK flights go out in the early hours of the morning and it would be an incredibly tough day espicially with children.

| said: This is an absolutely beautiful hotel and we were absolutely delighted when the coach pulled up outside having seen some of the other hotels in Sunny Beach. The rooms are an excellent size. We travelled with our two children and grandparents and there was plenty of room for the two kids to stay in the room with us without having to annoy the grandparents!!
The hotel is kept immaculately and the cleaners work non-stop. We even saw them on their hands and knees cleaning the foors of the lobby with scouring pads! The room was cleaned and fresh towels supplied every day.
The food was superb. Breakfast and dinner were both very good with plenty of choice. The kids enjoyed the pancakes at breakfast and the omelettes were lovely. There was plenty of choice at dinner - the soups were delicious. Unfortunately not much for kids who are fussy eaters like ours but what can you expect when you're in a different country. There was loads of fresh fruit. We ate a few times in the pool snack bar and the food there was also very good and quite reasonable. We had planned to eat out a couple of times but enjoyed the food in the hotel and didn't feel the need to go elsewhere.
Having looked around other hotels in the resort, this hotel is in a fantastic location - situated just back from the beach and in a very quiet spot. A couple of minutes walk takes you to shops, bars and restaurants.
The hotel staff were exceptionally good. We had a problem however in that our air conditioning wasn't working. This was reported four times but the maintenance staff kept saying it was working (even though it was considerably warmer in our room than outside!!). Eventually we spoke to the manager who arranged for us to change rooms immediately and when we arrived in our new room we had a lovely bottle of red wine, a large basket of fruit and an apology letter from the manager. The staff were very helpful and extremely pleasant and their English was great - no communication problems whatsoever.
The entertainment was reasonable enough. Have stayed places where it is better but also many more where it is much worse. Some nights were better than others, the Celtic night was especially good but the animation team do try very hard. They worked hard all day long and were brilliant with the kids.
We would definitely visit this superb hotel again. It's probably the nicest hotel we've stayed in abroad and we thought the nicest hotel in Sunny Beach, with the best location. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and will no doubt return in the future.

The hotel was immaculate, rooms were a very good size and maids came in every day.
All the staff were very nice and helpful.
Had heard not to expect much regarding food but we could not fault it at all, different soup each night, pasta pizza, hamburgers, pork, chicken, chips, salads to name but a few and the puddings were to die for (be prepared to put on a bit of weight, I put on half a stone) all in all the food was excellent.
The hotel is situated ideally for the beach which is just across the road and is in an ideal location with plenty shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel is pretty much in the centre of the resort so you have plenty going on no matter which way you go. T
he pool area was excellent though be prepared for the early birds who put their towels down at the crack of dawn. We beat them to it once, we came back to hotel at 3am after a good night out and decided to go and get our towels and put them down haa haa (if you can't beat them, join them) failing that you will always get a table near the food bar. The pools were always clean in fact the whole place was kept spotless.
The entertainment team worked hard throughout our stay though I can't comment on the evening entertainment as we always went out at night.
There are lots of cheap fake clothing (my kids came home with plenty), food and drink is cheap also. You must visit Bistro Billy's which is just along the road from the hotel, Billy and his staff make you so welcome (my son even got to make his own pizza). We always ended our night there and usually left a little worse for wear in the early hours of the morning (they are open 24 hours a day).
All in all our holiday was fantastic, so much so that we are planning to return next year and stay in the same hotel. I can't wait!!!!!

| said: Just come back from a week at sunny beach, first time in sunny beach so was not sure what to expect, being a single mum, went with my daughter and grandaughter, my two boys age 12&9.
What a fantastic hotel, staff were amazing with us. Stayed in a junior suite it was massive. Stayed in block 2, full view of pools. Had a late flight home so asked for the room the day before we left. Paid 100lev to keep it was worth it. If you want to have your room I suggest you ask the day before you leave they will take a note of it and more than likely get it, as someone was refuse as they had only asked on day of departure.
Travelled to a few places as a single mum and never have I felt so safe walking around at night, the location is spot on your right in the middle of everything. The beach is just 5 mins away. Very clean, sun beds cost 600lev each. Never had any problems with tummys. My 1yr old grandaughter loved the beach.
Sunbed wars oh yes afraid so. But was not to bad but if you leave it till 8.45 you have no chance.
Airport is abit of a let down very busy. So on return take drinks with you. Handy to have whilst you que.
Out of all the hotels we looked at had a nosey at a few why we where there we picked the best one. A king size bed well I say king size its bigger try a junior suite if you go. We had a fab time.

| said: Well I am a man of little words so I'll mostly be to the point.
Great hotel ( but we were in block 1 with not a great view and no sunshine did ever bless our window pane!)
Well done to the staff who kept it clean (they never stopped). Being a new hotel the rooms were comfortable, spacious and well stocked with enough furniture. Bathroom was also well proportioned and clean ( although the bath did leak but from underneath not from drips off the curtains. dodgy sealant used in the bathroom constructions... if you ask me!!) Lifts and corridors also clean and tidy.
Food wise... we only made it down to breakfast 3 times out of 7 but when we did, it was more than enough, usual choices of fruits, dairy products, hot foods and beverages. The only problem being that actualy trying to find a seat was a problem, this was the bugbear in the evening as well. We were having a lazy holiday so we ate in the hotel everynight before venturing out so I can say that yes the food was a little bland but I think this was just down to our preferences not to the standard of meals available.
Pool area is big enough with plenty of different sized pools available including a heated indoor pool(as well as sauna/massage/electronic sunbed? and gym all of which were to good standard) And whilst the pool bar menu was not exactly massive the food was also to good standard
Can not really say much as to regards the night-time entertainment by the staff but the kids seemed to enjoy what they were doing (from what we could hear anyway!!) Entertainment during the day was available and I think they did ask us to join in with some activities but unfortunatly as you can see to our being only able to make 3 out of 7 breakfasts we were'nt really in the mood for much activity during the day!! ( due to cheap cocktails NOT dodgy food!!! ha).
I gave it 3 stars due to the sound of laughing and singing kids (if you can keep them happy then they deserve a good 3 stars!)
All in all a good clean hotel with good staff, a good pool area, decent food and good rooms. We enjoyed our stay and would go back, definitely ~)

| said: My friend and I stayed at the Sunny Beach Resort. We arrived at 3.30am and asked reception if there was any chance of a cup of tea.
We were told yes - at breakfast. The room was large and looked out onto the pool which we thought was great. We soon learned that the shower leaked quite badly which we reported to the staff who were not that interested.
After complaining four times and demanding to see the manager [who would not agree to see us], we were moved to another room - whose shower leaked but not as bad. If you are a vegetarian I would say don't bother staying at this hotel.
I complained about the lack of choice for vegetarians and the restaurant manager told me there were plenty of vegetables to eat! She couldn't seem to grasp that we don't just eat vegetables. The chef would make me an omlette for breakfast she told me, but it was in the same pan he had fried a bacon omlette for a guest - once again they couldn't understand why I wouldn't eat out of the same pan. The staff were not very friendly and there was a feeling that they were not allowed to chat with each other or their guests.
The cleaning staff and waiters/waitresses worked very hard. We only lasted two days of our holiday and booked the first flight home. I was very disappointed with this holiday and would not return for a big clock.
My friend who was on holiday with me always stays at Iberostar hotels and she felt bad that she had recommended it to me. She was as glad as me when we managed to get a flight home.

The room was large, well furnished, very clean & comfortable. Linen changed twice a week.
Bathroom again, was of a very good size, clean everything in good working order. towel changed daily if required.
All staff really friendly & helpful at all times, nothing was too much, they seem to work very long hours but still remain cheerful.
The cleaners are always at work ensuring that
everything is kept spotlessly clean.
The food both morning & evening was always excellent, well cooked with pleanty of choice, the restaurant was pleasent & clean, again the staff could not have been more helpful.
Entertainment in the evening was again provided by the staff, they worked very hard providing us with good shows.
Would we visit this hotel again? MOST DEFINATELY !!!

The bar was good outside and nice snack lunch meals. There is an indoor pool for any cloudy days which was good. There was a Lord of the Dance type entertainment which was very good. There is also a internet room outside the main reception at the back.
Proximity is brilliant to the seafront and the main shopping area.
I would go back and had nothing bad happen whatsoever. Stuart

| said: Excellent hotel, which was kept very clean. There was great choice of good quality food, which was continuously refreshed.
The rooms were clean, well laid out and spacious, adequate number of lifts (which you need if you're on the seventh floor, with a 2 year old!)
The pool area was kept very clean and I felt all most of the guests respected this and used ashtrays rather than stubbing buts out on the floor. The pools themselves were also kept very clean, and were excellent for swimming, although I do think the smaller pools (for the children) were still a little too deep.
The location was good, very close to the beach and promenade area.
Hotel staff were generally good, mostly helpful and friendly, sometimes alittle slow in the restaurent area for clearing the tables, and taking drinks orders. The entertainment team were full of enthusiasum and were sooo bad that they were almost good!! They tried their best!!
Fortunately, this was not high on our priority list!

| said: We just arrived back yesterday (19th). What more can I add that hasn't been covered by the others above.
We had a great holiday, first time in Bulgaria and we would recommend it to anyone. We have stayed in an Iberostar hotel before and this was the main reason we chose this hotel.
We were placed in block 2 and yes it was full of other nationalities, mainly Germans. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and food always piping hot. Lovely omelette's, pancakes and even the bacon was crispy! We were late down one morning (around 9.30) and I can only describe it as chaotic. There were plenty staff but they couldn't clear and reset the tables quick enough. Definitely get down before 9am or around 9am and you will get a table ok.
Evening meals were not so good. The dining room was much quieter which was a good thing, mainly because a lot of the Germans were only B&B, and maybe also because the food was not as good as if you ate out. We always go half board or AI and this was the worst evening buffet we have experienced. I really do not like posting this because we rarely complain or find bad things about any of our holidays, we are not fussy eaters at all, but having eaten out a couple of nights, the hotel food was bland, uninteresting and lacking in choice. Although, the sweets made up for it! But it did not spoil our holiday, after all it is so cheap to eat out.
The hotel was spotlessly clean, our room was (as mentioned above) in block 2 and ended in an odd number! Luckily we were on the 6th floor so managed to look over the top of the green apartment block in front. We could just about see the sea - if you cut down all the trees and put a huge window in the gable end of the Neptune hotel we would have been laughing! Our balcony did not get any sun at any time of the day, but again, its only a minor thing. The room was huge, with the 2 single beds pushed together and the sofa. Air Conditioning worked well, although it was cooler in the evening and we did not really use it that much. Loved the piped music into the bathroom, nice touch. TV reception perfect, and we used the mini bar a couple of times, but also had no problem putting our own things in there. The literature did say it would be locked on the last night but ours wasn't. And yes.... the bath leaked. It did this in the other Iberostar we stayed in too! We did think it was the way the shower curtain was sitting, but no it was definitely coming from under the bath. We didn't bother complaining about it, we just used their towels to mop it up everyday and made sure we got new ones each morning. Definitely to do with the ways its been sealed (or not in this case). It didn't make the place smell in anyway at all.
Hotel location was spot on, step outside and you have bars and cafes a very small stroll away. Very close to the beach too, just over a small walkway.
The staff - We didn't find them all that friendly but they did get better as the week went on. We didn't tip so maybe that was the problem, however if they had smiled and been more helpful from day one then we may have done so.
I have left the entertainment as a 1 only because we didn't spend an evening in the hotel so did not see any of it. Certainly during the day they had the kids mini club and other things but we did not bother with any of that.
I have to say that we did not have any problems whatsoever in getting a sun bed at the pool. Now we were on the block 2 side, so maybe it was not so busy? Or maybe the hotel was not full, but we went down around 9ish and got the same beds each day. There were plenty of unused beds around and never did it feel crowded. You could easily have come down at lunchtime and got a bed with no hassle at all. We had fully prepared ourselves for going to the beach but as we had no problems with the pool area we stayed there. Pool was cold but after a while in the sun it was refreshing.
All in all it was a good week, good holiday and we will definitely go back to this hotel.

| said: Brand new hotel 4* very nice looking clean and fresh although some of the building work is a bit shoddy, looked to me like they had rushed and cut corners to get finnished in time for the season.
Almost all of the guests we spoke to while there had reported leaking baths and sinks as we did but nothing was ever done about it, the reception staff were mostly not interested in listening to complaints.the pools in the hotel often did not look very clean especially the childrens ones.
The hotel location was very good, not stuck in a busy part of the resort yet central and near to the beach.
The hotel animation team realy did try their hearts out to entertain everyone and were genuinely nice people the kids all seemed to love them.
Oh and don,t forget the views, advertised as sea view or pool view well at the back of the hotel where our room was, looked on to a green painted hotel with a stagnant swimming pool which I suppose would be a sea view if you demolished three or four other hotels which are in the way.
The pool view rooms at the front of the hotel also had a nice view of the building site facing them but by next year it will be another 600 plus room hotel.
We will defenitely not be back at this hotel to stay although it definately wasnt one of the worst that we saw.

| said: Believe it or not we did actually enjoy our stay here at this hotel even though we would never return.
The hotel was clean with the pool cleaned every day fresh linen, towels ect, however on our 2nd night the electricity died in our room so had to change to another room which wasn't a problem as we were aware it was a new hotel so we expected few teething problems.
Our new room was fine until you wanted a shower or a bath the water flooded from a loose pipe underneath the bath so of course the room smelt of stale water.
When we told the reception staff, with shrugged shoulders we were told that this was a common fault would we like extra towels so we could mop it up.
The food wasn't bad at all plenty of choice fresh pasta, fish, pizza, the dining room was very very busy obviously as the hotel is huge get in early doors to eat in peace and avoid the que.
The hotel staff especially in the dining area were unbeleivably rude all very unhelpful.
The entertainment was based around fun club for kids but at 11.30 the bar closed. Our stay here was really nice and did have a great hol but we stayed at a 3 star half board last year that was also a brand new hotel but the customer service was friendlier and you didnt have to set your alarm to get a sunbed at 7.30 (not joking)come ten o clock there was no sun loungers left.

| said: Had a fantastic time. Couldn't fault anything. The food was excellent and always plenty of it.
The cleaners never seemed to stop working, I have never been to such a clean country! The location is spot on. Less than 5 minutes walk from the beach/sea.
You are never further than about a 2 minute walk to a bar, restaurant or shop whichever direction you chose to walk when you leave the hotel.
The staff couldn't do enough for you. Nothing was too much trouble. The Animation Team were brilliant. They are actually employed by Iberostar and they work long hours but always have a smile on their faces. They were always happy to chat to you although their english is somewhat limited but bearing in mind that they also have to be able to comunicate with the german tourists as well as the english I thought they did a great job.
This hotel is so close to all the amenities but as it is not on the same side of the road as the beach, it wasn't as noisy as other hotels.
I never had a problem with the sunbeds but I am an early riser and was down by the pool by half seven most days. The water in the outside pools (2 adult ones & 4 smaller childrens ones) seemed to get colder as the day went on which seemed strange as they had the sun blazing down on them all day. The indoor pool was lovely and I enjoyed an early morning swim most days and often had the whole pool to myself!
The only downside I can think of was that the service from the outside bar was soooooooo slow! Fortunately, after the first couple of days we bought our drinks from the supermarkets and drank them, they were also far cheaper which was a bonus! I did think that we might be told we couldn't do that but no one ever said anything to us the whole time we were there. Mind you we didn't bring in any alcohol, mainly soft drinks which were the same as what were sold in the bar anyway so I guess they couldn't tell the difference.
We didn't buy anything from the mini-bar in our rooms but we did squeeze our own water etc in there and our maid didn't seem bothered, tho there was a leaflet in all the rooms saying don't use the mini bar for your own drinks. The mini-bar was locked the day before we left and our stuff was left on the table for us.
We did have a couple of days where there was a general problem with the water, i.e there wasn't any! This was a bit of a pain when you came up from the pool at 6pm and wanted a shower before dinner but it was sorted out quickly and didn't cause us any real problems.
If I go to Sunny Beach again, I would definately stay at this hotel. It seemed to be the best hotel by far out of all the ones we saw while we were there.

Entertainment was available every night but was mainly for small children. The 'Animation Team' tried their very best and were always smiling!
During our stay our water was not available from 4pm until 8pm, which was a bit of a pain but the hotel managed to fix this problem on the fourth day.
Our child fell from his highchair as it came apart but I think the hotel have checked them all now for safety reasons. So be careful!
But overall we had a brilliant holiday and would go back.

| said: This hotel was fantastic. It is well worthy of its 4* grading.
It was exceptionally clean, I think one of the cleaners spent her whole day cleaning the mirrors in the lifts and the front doors.
It's location was excellent - near enough to the beach, bars, shops etc but quiet enough in the evenings.
The food was excellent with plenty of choice. Omelette's cooked to order in the morning and the same with the pasta at night and always cooked with a smile! The only problem in the restaurant was sometimes when you ordered drinks they did not arrive until you had finished your main course. I think this will be resolved as the staff become more experienced.
The rooms were very large and cleaned thoroughly every day.
The pool area was lovely but we did find that during our second week the majority of the sunbeds had gone by 8am. You can hire pool towels for 30 lev deposit which you get back at the end of your stay. Your towels can then be changed daily. The only thing you have to watch is that nobody takes your yellow towel by mistake. If they do then you can wave goodbye to your deposit!
The entertainment team were brilliant and got us involved with the daytime activities that were going on. They were great with the kids - ours ranged from 6 - 16yrs. They really worked hard and wanted to please you and seemed genuinely nice people. As the season progresses I think they will get even better. We didn't watch the shows at night as we usually went out but they practised then every afternoon between the organised activities.
The pool bar is the only down side to this hotel, but again I think once they become more experienced this will improve. They are very slow at taking your orders and so you could be waiting ages before anyone came over. The best advice would be to order a double round. At least then you have one in hand!.
If you go to this hotel then you will have a wonderful time. There were 19 of us and we all loved it!

| said: Hi, the Hyde family - Yorks England 2adults 1 child 1 infant. Just arrived back from 7 nights in Iberostar resort Sunny Beach.
Had a real good time in this complex and would strongly recommend it, especially for the kids.
Hotel cleanliness and food were spot on something for everyone at dinning time. Very nice selection of all courses, but especially for a little large bloke like me who likes his little calorie bursting cakes at dinner time. Cut short on the first 3 courses leave a little roooooom and scoff loads of little cakes nice!!! (Fantastic).
Hotel location spot on, just far enough away from the busy, (what I call the square) where the disco pubs etc are situated, and only 2-3 mins walk on to the beach front.
Right there’s always got to be a few bad points, these consist around the way the hotel is run. Now remember this is a brand new hotel so there is always going to be teething problems, but I have got to mention this particular one. (High chairs) or the lack of them. Yes the objects that our little terrors sit on to scream their way through 45 mins of dinner. Well find one or ask a nice young Bulgarian, who by the way cannot do enough for you, to simply find you a peace of wood with a safety strap on that resembles a chair for a infant! Sorry sir no can do! Hotel has only 5 of them! 1000+ guests does not = 5 infants.
Anyway feel better for sharing that with you, only other gripe is, if you want a beer around the pool/stage area especially at mini disco time, let the boots do the walking.
This complex is first class, would recommend to anyone especially the ones with small kids, (who don’t mind sitting in their push chairs to eat lunch).
The young Bulgarian’s genuinely do like to play and entertain your kids, so just give them to them and lay back on a lounger with your worlds cheapest beer in your hand, and soak up the sun.(Till your youngest wakes up beside you screaming), then reality strikes.
Am returning soon, hard not to when you cannot spend your lev, 40pence a large beer (great).

| said: We were the in the first group of holiday makers to arrive at this excuse calling its self a hotel.
We had holidays at Iberostar hotel complexes in other parts of the world and their standard was fitting to their ratings.
I don't know if it was the Bulgarian culture or just greed on behalf of the holiday company who told me a week before I left that the complex was completed , or maybe Iberostar thinking once their here their moneys ours.
Reading the previous reports it would seem the problems we had have not gone away.
We arrived at the hotel with pallets blocking one entrance and another 600room hotel under construction where the artists impressions said there would be green grassland. On booking in we asked to hire the room safe, the receptionist pulled out a bucket full of keys from under the counter then explained to us the persons fittng the safes had flung all the keys in there without marking them, for the two weeks we were forced to endure there we never got the keys. We stopped asking after a week.
Next the room clean and tidy everything ok until we went into the toilet only to be confronted by live electrical wiring hanging out the wall where a light switch should have been, this made the shower and bath unusable also the shaver socket and the hairdryer did'nt work. We later found that the air conditioning system was not yet functional. (It took 3day and a written complaint to the holiday Rep to get this fixed.)
All reported and got on with our holiday.
To our dismay on walking round the following morning we were to relize that less than 40% of the complex was complete. Before I list the worse let me tell you that I work in Health & Safety back in the U.K. so you understand where I'm coming from.
1..Glass in the one swimming pool that was operational, you had to come out early before anybody had disturbed the to see if there was any shards of broken glass glistening on the pool bottom. The pool attendants had not been shown how to use the pool broom, instead lifting the pieces that were to large for the brooms suction to lift and end up just pushing them from one part of the pool to another.
2..While lying sunbathing I noticed a man on one of the balconies of the unfinished part of the hotel photographing the pool area with a telephoto lens. When I went in later I asked the at reception if anybody had been given permission to photograph the complex, they knew nothing and not been informed of anybody due to take further photos. He came back the following day photograping from a different vantage point, moving from balcony to balcony with the lens always directed at the pool. On the third day I took my camera to the pool and as sure as the sun rises he appeared again, this time I walked towards the balcony he was on aimed my camera at him and whistled. He turned on his heels and sprinted off.
3.. Fire precations were dire the further up the stairs you got the less you seen extinguishers, the mid corridor fire prevention doors were fitted 4 days after we arrived, the evacuation procedures were not post on the room doors until the middle of our second week. The information was incorrect as they had failed to list not to use the elevators in the event of fire. I seen disabled & wheelchaired persons at the hotel but there was no evac-chairs on any landings or signage to tell the disabled or infirm where to wait for rescue. The two weeks I was there I never heard the fire alarm being tested nor was there a sign in the entrance area telling you when this would happen.
4.. The poolside toilets had not been fitted out you therefore hadto walk through the main foyer to get access to a toilet.
5.. A childrens play area was built with rough chips as a landing if they fell off a swing or chute. In the U.K. landing mats are compulsory relative to the height of the appliances. So much for the holiday companies making sure your child has a safe holiday, or then again maybe that why they push insurance so much.
I could go on listing other technical things that were wrong but you would not read it.
Lets just say this hotel was not ready as advertised and because things were rushed the problems will take a long time to iron out.
I am currently pursueing the holiday company for a refund, and Iberostar have washed their hands of the matter saying they kept the companies up to date.
In my opinion this hotel was not ready for safe use.

Hotel food was alright, lots of continental breakfast, not to much choice for the "english breakfast" brigade, but cereals and toast would see you through till lunch. On our first week snack bar not open (so all our cash) was spent at the local bars and eateries across the road on the strip.Food there excellant espesially at the Neptune bar amazing peppered steak.and the baked spudss at the kebab place beautiful. so where ever you ate you couldnt/woundnt starve and prices excellent.
Dinner was hectic if you went down early (6.00 till9.00) but was much easier to get table later food o.k. and we had, had better in lower star rated hotels but there was was always the "kebab" run on the way home
The bar was situated in the foyer and whenever and no matter how many of us wanted to part with our cash for drinks, only ever one serving, which lets face it when youve gone all inclusive and they had had your money up front you expect but when you are paying you would think they would be grabbing you hand off for the Levs
Reception was always well staffed, it was such a pity that the staff where so unhelpful and sometimes quite rude.I also asked four times during the course of our stay for a late check out, fobbed off each time being told ask another day, when I did ask on the morning of our departure I was told in no uncertan terms 1) I should have asked before 2) even though hotel not full there where no vacant rooms as our was to be relet,so spent 12 hours plus without a room. while awaiting our flight home. One shower room for departing guets that you could use, but no matter how many times you tried to get in you couldnt. So, so glad we met a nice couple who allowed us to use there room for shower and changing, or we would have been minging by the time we got to the airport.
Hotel staff all nice ( with the ecception of reception)
Entertainment!! virtually non existant water polo and 12oclock cocktail!!. Needs some help there and quick.
Overall enjoyed the break, the people we met where lovely and made the holiday but wouldnt go back to this hotel.

| said: We stopped for 2 weeks arriving back on Saturday 9th July.
We were due to stop in the Meridian however were informed upon arrival that they had suffered a burst water pipe - mmmmm, and had subsequently been allocated the Iberostar - shame.
Hotel Cleanliness
No issues at all as far as we can remember - maid service fine, dining area spotless (any mess that did occur was cleaned straight away), common areas spotless.
Pools cleaned every night - kiddies pools looked a little messy occasionally (not surprising) but certainly nothing to worry about.
Hotel Food
First class help yourself eat as much as you like buffet for both breakfast and dinner, something for everyone. All items were regularly replaced so no need to worry about freshness.
Breakfast (7.30am - 10am quieter before 8.30am) - selection of (deep breath) fruits peeled and unpeeled, cold meats and salads, selection of cereals, cheeses, Hot buffet with proper beans, potatoes of various natures, bacon / ham, eggs whichever way you want them (except poached I think) sausages of varying kinds, hot vegetables(!), omelettes cooked to order, pancakes, croissants, plenty bread (brown / white) with toaster (they only had one left at the end which caused a few queuing problems). Sweet fruit juices orange apple etc., lion brand teabags and other flavoured teabags, coffee, milk the lot. Take a bottle of HP if you are an addict only tomato sauce on offer. Oh aye and two choices of cake as well.
Dinner (6 - 9 pm) - three soups, plenty bread again, cold meats salads, normally 4 hot main courses and a roast and a grill offering plus four choices of veg. Also pizza, pasta cooked to order, chips. Huge selection of desserts ice creams cake etc. And a cheese board to finish off.
Put it this way we put on a stack of weight and tried most things and were rarely disappointed.
Waiters/tresses served drinks at the table 3.50 for large bottle of local beer 1.50 for small bottle of water. Make sure you get your change - tip what you want not what they want. Expensive for Sunny Beach I know but you don't stop there all night if you don't want.
Hotel location and facilities
Situated opposite Neptun Beach and Helios Palace just couple of minutes walk from beach and Kuban strip. Location ideal. They are constructing another hotel behind it but building work is not ongoing except for some interior work but no noise was noticeable.
By the time we left I think most things at the Iberostar were complete. It is split into two wings each with its own 24 hour reception with an archway in the middle between wings to ensure the sun shines on the pool for most of the day (clever construction)
Wing 1 (to the right as you look on the impression) seems to be mainly British and wing 2 (to the left) for Germans, Finns, Scandinavians etc.
We had a room with sea view on the seventh floor which was ideal (come onto rooms in a bit).
The pool area is split symmetrically into two areas with each of the following in each area - main pool, whirlpool (not working while we there), kids pool, 4 showers. In our opinion there are not enough sunbeds to service the hotel. In total according to Iberostars publicity there are 652 rooms across the two wings which if 2 people share a room (minimum) gives over 1300 people and there are nowhere near that amount of beds or the space to put them in. To secure a sunbed we would recommend towels out before 830am. However their own literature does state that you are not allowed to do this and personal belongings reserving loungers will be removed (not enforced while we were there). In addition there does not seem to be much to stop guests from other hotels thieving sunbeds.
There is a poolside bar although they could improve the poolside service which was pretty much non existent (although head chef seemed to be kicking a few backsides on this point). There is an indoor pool which is a fair size.
The indoor animation hall and bar is now complete and open - in addition to the outdoor facilities. The gym is operational bikes, rowing machines etc. Don’t know if the sauna solarium is open - wasn't anything to say it wasn't. Full body massage available for 40 lev. There is a shop within the complex selling usual drinks, ice creams inflatables papers etc (think they had sorted out the newspaper supply by the time we left 3.50 for a Daily Star - why do the Germans get same day papers and we have to do with day before?). Hairdresser 35lev for shampoo cut and blow dry. Internet access 3lev for 1/2 hour 5 for an hour. This isn't great but I had more luck here than across the road at the Neptun which was woefully slow. Money exchange on 1st floor only 2.60 a quid, not great, use others (come onto that).
As far as we could see there were quite a few unfinished rooms in wing 2 (we had a snoop around on the last night we were transferred to another room as a late checkout) and it is much quieter (guest wise) than wing 1. Be wary about being allocated a room in wing 2 with an odd number as the last number (it its a sea view its fine if its on the side its not so great) - it faces out onto another hotel and there is a canny racket emerging through the day and night with some bloke with the loudest mike in the Balkans. However as I say it seems that they are putting the other nationalities over that side at the minute.
Rooms with even numbers face onto the pool area. Rooms with low odd numbers face out onto the sides.
And finally the grass had grown to a fair length out the front gardens after some heavy rains and the best thunderstorm I've ever seen!!!
Hotel Staff
Spot on - any problems answer was "we fix it" and they did mind. Remember this is a new flagship construction and they are desperate for it to succeed and are trying very hard to make that happen. It looked like they had a visit from their bosses while we were there. If there is something to complain about then do it - they do not want any bad publicity.
Entertainment
Bunch of about 8-10 Bulgarian lads and lasses who tried their hearts out bless em. They organize plenty of poolside activities during the day in the face of international resistance sometimes, aerobics, darts, bowls, world famous 12 o clock cocktail game, water polo etc. They also put on a show each night, dressing up and dancing singing etc - great for the little ones before nine. Also a kiddies club for 4-12 year olds don’t know exactly what they did with them but they seemed to be enjoying themselves when I saw them, There is also a small kiddies playground. They hadn’t' quite perfected the art of entertainment but not for the want of effort.
Hotel Rooms
We had the benefit of stopping in 2 rooms. Both very similar. Can swing a tiger in them. Double / twins consist of two singles pushed together plus a double sofa which converts into a single sofa bed. More pillows available if you ask. Facilities inside Minibar / fridge (Soft drinks 2 lev beer 3) - they say that if they find your own stuff inside then they will remove it - just need to take it out in the morning and put it back later on. Satellite TV with Bulgarian German odd French, Spanish, Russian channel, only BBC World and CNN English speaking.
There are films in English with Bulgarian subtitles on in the afternoons and evenings occasionally. The TV has a scart socket at the back so you could theoretically take a DVD player and plug it in. We took a portable DVD and it proved a lifesaver when the weather was poor.
No tea coffee kettles in the room. Direct dial phone (never used) also what looked like a dial up internet connection in the room. Carpeted throughout large balcony room for 6 people clothes dryer. Safety Deposit box 35 lev for a fortnight. Plenty hangers for clothes. Complimentary sewing kit. 48 hour Laundry service available T-shirt 3 lev, Dress 5 lev Skirt 4.5 lev trousers 5 lev. We just washed clothes in bath.
Air con worked fine for us little noisy during the night but you get used to it. Bathroom over bath shower which is a bit leaky - need to put curtain in the right place but still not ideal. Huge mirror, comp. soap body lotion cotton buds shower cap Shaver point and decent hairdryer. Towels changed daily if required and to cap it all piped music playing in the shower "I'm an Englishman in New York"..........magic.

| said: I've just got back today, 28th June 05 and the hotel facilities are still not complete. No internet room, no indoor entertainment centre, so if it rains it's all cram in the lobby for a quiz. You will have to fight for a seat as we did as it rained twice.
Also the sauna and solarium weren't finished so as we paid for all the facilities they weren't complete. On the 2nd week there was also no snack bar so it's a trip down to the beach with the rest of the hotel to queue up for lunch.
If you're still going when you check into you're room check all appliances like items in mini fridge that are down on the list but not in the fridge. Air-con: a few people I spoke to there air-con didn't work and bathroom seals weren't glued down properly so they leaked and you might end up falling and slipping like i did.
Directly opposite the hotel another hotel is being built say no more!

| said: The Hotel is part of the Spanish owned Iberostar Chain I would describe it as a medium sized hotel located on the Southern side of Sunnny Beach (Nessebar end)approx 200m from the beach and 20 minutes walk to the resort centre.
The Hotel is well worthy of its 4 star rating for a holiday hotel.
Looking forward to a return visit next year.
