| said: Going half board is always a hit or a miss and this year we were very dissapointed in the food.
The childrens selection was very poor with chicken nuggets and chips most nights!
Evening meal is taken at the Avanti Hotel (4 star) but certainly not four star food, breakfast is taken at the village.
The hotel staff are not friendly in the slightest.
Entertainment was okay, typical holiday stuff.
We won't be going back to the Avanti Village and I would not recommend it.
Cyprus itself is also very expensive.

| said: We stayed at the Avanti Village on the understanding that it was a family friendly hotel which provided entertainment and adequate facilities for the children, this was not the case.
There was no evening entertainment from what we could see and the children’s facilities consisted of 2 plastic climbing frames which was only suitable for children under 5 and lots of broken ride-on toys and 3 bikes of which 2 were broken not very child friendly.
In our opinion the pool was dirty with tiles missing and grates broken never saw it being cleaned in the 2 weeks we were there.
As for the accommodation well the rooms are very basic, kitchenette consisted of a fridge a cooker and a cupboard under the sink no where to store food, our main concern was with the balcony and the front door.
If you have small children then take note that this place is not very safe, the ground floor apartments have a terrace outside the patio door but there is no barrier around it so the children can step straight off it and run out onto the complex, it's a very high step as well which is dangerous.
We were moved to a first floor apartment due to the worry of this which we thought would be better, we were wrong, The front door does not lock from the inside so in a split second children can open the door and down the steps they go, we have a 4 year old and a 21 month old both could open the door.
The single beds are located in the lounge which is in the same room as the front door, due to worrying that our son would try and get out in the night he ended up sleeping with us for 2 weeks.
The location is not very good there are a few bars and restaurants just up the road but if you want to eat in the harbor then be prepared for a 45 minute walk at least especially if you have small children and pushchairs.
There is a bus but this is impossible to get on and off with buggies and small children, we asked to move to a hotel closer only for he rep to say why? Aren't you happy just to stay around the pool and enjoy the sun, then we were told it would cost about £300 to move we just decided to stick it out now the rep, well unhelpful just about sums her up, not willing to help or chat about concerns just wants to do her meeting and get out as quick as possible we asked her about hiring a buggy for our son as all the walking was to much but didn’t't have any luck with her ended up hiring one from a rep from another company.
Hotel staff are rude and unapproachable not happy or friendly.
Overall if you want a costly holiday at a hotel with poor accommodation where you can buy over priced drinks and just stay around the pool all day then you will like this place if you want a safe place for kids and entertainment then avoid it it's just not worth paying for.

| said: The village appartments themselves were basic. The reception staff were not the most helpful, the Thomas Cook rep was worse. We booked 2 appartments over 1 year ago and requested them togeather. But no according to the rep if we had gone to the welcome meeting he might have been able to get us appartments togeather. But if im not mistaken if there had been 2 available surley they would have put us together.
We had to ask for a kettle,we had to ask for clean towels, we had to ask for our beds to be changed. What message does that give to people like ourselves. There is nothing what so ever to do at night on the resort, you have to go to the Avanti Hotel which is through a field. And also my daughter got washing stolen off her balcony.
I would not recommend this holiday at all for the money we paid we should have got a refund. £3.700 if that is not being fleeced what is.

| said: When we arrived at the Avant village our plane was delayed due to the Glasgow doings. So we got there for teatime on a Sunday which to be fair was there big change over day. But the food was absoultley appauling I would not have fed that to my dog let alone humans. We made it for 3 days but we had to go to the rep and tell her how bad it was. The breakfast was even worse, EVERYTHING apart from the toast was smoked!!!!!!!!!! So if you like that kind of thing your ok. The variety was extremley poor, the sausages were hotdogs and frankferters DISGUSTING, the cereal was soft and there was CATS all over. We got our money back for the 2nd week, and to be fair there is some lush restuarants out there. Try The Imperial, Riminis, and Hobo cafe at the harbour, Chloes, The new Dehli, all very nice. But expensive, but Cyprus is.
Well now the Avanti hotel and the entertainment. What they do not tell you in the brochure is that you have to walk along a DIRT TRACK which is not lit up, and late at night this is very frightening whete your with a man or not. There is another way but that is the same apart from its not a dirt track. When we told the rep she said she would have a word with Management so 2 days before we left they put a Flood light up, but the last night they took it down, considering what has been happening in Portugal this was appauling.
The Entertainment well if thats what you want to call it. The Hypmotist was the best, which is shown on a Saturday I think!!! The parrot show was appauling they spent most of there time taking photos, so all in all it was on for 20 minutes. The rest was appauling there was never hardly anyone at the Avanti Hotel or the Village. The Village entertainment, was diabolical there was only ever 4 people there at the most.

| said: Just back from the Avanti village had a great holiday but before I begin don't fill your suit case with clothes, fill it with money you will need it.
The Avanti is a good place to stay it has a great pool area (top tip if you need to cool off use the indoor pool its a lot cooler).
The facilities are good and its kept clean and tidy, we went with our 5 year old son who loved the pool and lazy river, but did not enjoy the kids club as it was only on for a hour and a half a day and he only drew pictures, then played water polo for which he was to young.
But at night over in the Avanti hotel which you can use, they have a mini disco at 9pm that he was addicted to.
The hotel is also the place the main entertainment takes place, its ok some nights (check out the hypnotist).
All in all it's a nice place.

No entertained on an evening but plenty of good restaurants on the main road. Maid service very good. But on the whole not many staff at all.
The ones that were there including the receptionist were quiet miserable!!! Arrived in dark with no help to find apartment. Pitch black maze!!

The pool area is fantastic very clean the kids were kept happy all day.
The pool bar and snack bar was open all day a bit slow but nevermind you are on holiday.
10 min walk and your in the main area.
There's also a number of small bars and restaurants close to the avanti ( hot cup cafe ) mike is a fantastic host.
Fantastic holiday will go again.

| said: We really enjoyed our stay at Avanti Village.
The accomodation was extremely clean and spacious. Well furnished and comfortable. The maid cleaned and changed towels every day. Efficient air conditioning. Everything in the appartment worked perfectly. The appartments are only 2 storeys high with a safe balcony which is always a concern for me as my daughter is only 7.
Situated in a quiet area. Well stocked supermarket, bars and resturants only a short walk away. Bus stop at the bottom of the road. Bus travel very resonably priced. Aphrodites water park was brilliant fun, we spent all day there and it's only a very short bus ride away.
Most of the hotel staff were generally pleasant and helpful, but one or two were not.
We didn't bother much with entertainment as we went out or sat having a drink on the balcony. We did enjoy the visiting Greek dancer, who balanced glasses on his head!
We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return again soon.

Although the entertainment at night wasn't brilliant Chris and Monika the animation team did a really good job and were excellent with the children.
The pool area is large and well looked after with good bar and snack facilities.
In the reception area the staff were more than helpful and as a wheelchair user I can't fault the disabled facilities and everywhere on the village was easily accessible. At the far end of the complex is the Fiesta Bar selling an excellent choice of food and drink at reasonable prices.
Within 5-10 minutes walk there were also many more cafes restaurants and bars. We will be paying a return visit.

The hotel was in a nice place & we could get to all the restaurants easily.
The entertainment wasn't that good my little boy who's nearly 2 loved the mini disco but apart from that we used to go to the fiesta bar most evenings.
We would definitely visit the hotel again.

| said: Just got back on 23rd Aug from the Avanti Village, and I must say we had a lovely holiday.
Apartment was very clean and spacious, just remember to take along coathangers as they don't provide many.
If you wanted a specific area around the pool you'd have to get up at 7.15am to secure your sunbed, but you could always get one later on in the morning if you're not fussy were you sit.
The only thing we feel that let it down was 'the pool area'. The pool needed to be cleaned more regular and the tiles around the pool bar were lined with scum. Bins and toilets around the pool vacinity were not cleaned and emptied during the day, therefore rubbish was left on the floor area near the bins.
There was no management presence or guidance throughout the day to ensure these issues were dealt with.

Evenings were just ok.It was an early riser who secured the sunbeds as towels were out nice and early!Snack bar food was tasty, we went to a buffet evening at avanti hotel, it was excellent.
Also Fiesta pub provided good meals and great cocktails.
Avanti village provided a relaxing atmoshere to enjoy our holiday.

| said: We have just got back and can honestly say we loved every minute.
The avanti is a good 15 minutes walk to bar street which is the main area for nightlife.
The accommodation is clean and very comfortable.
The pool area is fantastic and very safe for kids with the day time entertainment with Chris and Monica good.
However the bar service at the pool area is very slow and you get no one to one with the staff with the feeling you are just another punter.Prices are about the same as here beer 1.95 Cypriot pounds and coke 1.10.
In the resort we could get a meal for for for about £40 but we got through loads of money as drinks can be expensive. The local water park is good but cost £107 for four and you can not take any drinks or food in.
on the whole a lovely holiday and would go back again.

It was very very clean. Pool massive with loads of sunbeds. Staff helpful. Too far to walk to the harbour with kids but taxis are easy to find.
Food at the pool cafe was lovely, drinks a bit expensive.
We will definitely be going back. There is an indoor pool that is lovely and cold also two pool table, a small gym, sauna, Jacuzzi and arcade room. Highly recommended

| said: The Avanti Village was v. nice. Apartments were well set out and v. spacious inside. I have 1 warning for you though, watch out for the scratch cards. There is time share apartments to be built soon so people with scratch cards target families and say it is free and you can win a free holiday. They never mention that you have to sign up to timeshare to win.
We ate in Avanti hotel and food was excellent. It was buffet style and there was always food out.
There was no entertainment in Avanti village but at Avanti hotel there was a kids disco, karaoke, etc.
The receptionists were okay but not very helpful and in the Avanti hotel was even worse. One wouldn't give my friend her correct change until my dad made her give it back. She said that the fact the computers were broke wasn't her problem and that she wasn't turning them off and we should turn them off ourselves. The bar staff there were unfriendly and wouldn't give us change.

Lots of sunbeds. Never had a problem getting one !
Never used the hotel bar as the prices in the crocodile pub only 3 minutes walk away were so good.
A new shopping complex has been constructed at the end of the road and although shut at the moment will be opening in may. with many snack bars, shops, restaurants etc.
Would stay here again.
Taxi ride to the harbour / main bar area of Paphos costs 4 pounds

| said: We loved this place. The pool is brilliant and, as busy as it was, we never struggled to get sunbeds. The apartments are first class, best I've ever stayed in. Cleaners were excellent too and left us alone as we liked to sleep in very late.
It was also quiet during the day, apart from the odd blip when they organised some pool football.
If I had to criticise, it would be that the bar shut at midnight, every night. It wasn't a huge problem as there were bars nearby, but if you wanted a quiet night on site you couldn't have a late one.
As everyone else has said the hotel is a bit of a walk from town, took us about 20 minutes. Took taxis after that.
Place was clean and cafe on site was acceptable. Stay here you wont be disappointed.
I'd come back here again.

Although it was a slight walk (15 mins) to Bar Street and the livlier bars etc, it's not really much time at all when you are on holiday and we enjoyed the strolls into town. There are many bars and shops on the way to stop at.
The accommodation was really spacious and clean and the pool area was lovely and clean too. Plenty of sunbeds for everybody so we never had to search around to get 4 together. Staff were friendly and the maid service was excellent. The Piazza is not yet finished but the building work going on is quite far away from all the accommodation so no noise whatsoever.

In the air conditioned bar there was a small dance floor and a wide screen tv. All entertainment took place outside and unless you got there at 6.00 you wouldn't be able to see with a big group of people you felt uncomfortable when sitting down because as soon as we got up they sorted out the chairs again.
The service was lousy and you had to ask to be served. we wasn't even staying here.

| said: We stayed at the Avanti Village for two long weeks having to rise at 6.30am every day to stand any chance of obtaining sunbeds for that day. All in all there are insufficient sun beds at this resort for the number of residents.
The pool was filthy with graffiti scratched into the tide marks around its perimeter.
Maid service was poor. Often the used bath towels were removed and not replaced resulting in a further visit to reception.
The rooms are very basic and not remotely close to "class A" or the "4*" quoted in the high street holiday brochures.
As for the many holiday brochures that boast of the facilities at the "piazza" within the complex you will note as you explore that there are none!!! The building works are currently incomplete and there is no bank, bar/s, restaurants etc within this area.
This is our 6th visit to Paphos and the only time we have felt the urge to write. In the past we have stayed at the Cypria Maris, Athena Beach and the Amathus, each time being delighted by the accomodation and service. Perhaps there is a diference between the way they grade appartments and hotels? We will not make the same mistake next year.

Rooms are of good size but not enough wardrobe space for 4 people.
Massive pool area but the pool itself is too warm and you don't get to cool of very well.
The bar closes at 12 which was too early.
The hotel shop didnt stock anything much really and the ones at the bottom of the road were not much better.
A few bars about half a mile away.
The night entertainment at the sister hotel was very poor so don't waste your time going, head for bar street for a good night.
If the hotel made some small changes like the shop, later bar and some decent night entertainment it would be nearly perfect.

The maids came often enough but on more than one occassion took the dirty towels away without replacing them.
For apartments that were supposed to be just a year old they were really showing signs of age(ie;rust seeping from the bath rail)our bathroom light konked out and it took three attempts to fix it.
There was just no entertainment at night and it was a waste of time attempting to go to the attached hotel as they had fenced off the path connecting them. The prices at the bar was double the prices nearer the harbour.
All in all we would not recommend this place as it was no way 4 star.

| said: We arrived bleary eyed at 2.00 am,we were absolutely delighted with our first impression of The Avanti Village.
Spotlessly clean with a huge pool area which looked superb and inviting in the moonlight, after a few hours sleep it looked even better in the daytime. Plenty of loungers , stacks of space around the pool and a pool bar with cold beer!!
The apartments were spotless and spacious even for us with two grown-up teenagers and the complex was laid out in a pleasing village style setting with gardens and flower borders throughout.Daytime entertainment was sporting based with a David Beckham lookalike which met with approval from my wife and daughter!
Night time was a different matter, the complex was extremely Quiet with most folk choosing to go into town or over to the sister hotel about 400 mtrs away. Overall I`d thoroughly recommend these apartments to any one who didn`t mind the slightly out of the way location. It suited us perfectly.
A short walk to at least a dozen restaurants or a five minute bus trip to the town centre.I generally don`t like to go back to the same place twice, but i think in the case of the Avanti Village I would consider it.

We got married in Cyprus and had our reception in the hotel on the veranda it was perfect we could not fault the food one bit, the reception was perfect.
The village was lovely, pool was clean, they had a pool bar which was really good lazy river for our 6 month old baby.
In the evening the pool bar stayed open till 12,00 serving hot and cold drinks, and had music which was a nice finish to our evening.
We thought the manager was lovely and very helpful the staff was very friendly, we are going back to the village next year.

We were deffinatly not dissapointed- the pool was very large and not that deep(my 7 year old didnt use his arm bands after the second day) and the lazy river is great for adults too.
The appartments were very clean and the maids came most days although they say they only come twice.
Luckily for us both us and our friends were in block A which was right next to the pool.
The gym and the sauna look clean but i never saw anyone using them and the kids room was rather sparce but the boys liked it(as well as the x box which is in reception 50c a go)
There was a cut through to the avanti hotel but on our last day it was frenced off which ment you have to walk all the way around.
There are varying places to eat the rib shack and the zambeezi(near the aloe hotel)were great and if you want cheap english breakfast go to the moulia fish and chip shop next to the avanti hotel(£1.50)
All in all it was a wonderful holiday and i would deffinatly reccomend it-we will be going again.

Could not use pools as too cold, advertised heated indoor pool was not heated. Quite a walk to the centre of things and back, especially after a Meze!!!
The staff could not be more friendly and very helpful. The accomodation excellent.
Would use this hotel again for a honeymoon but not with daughter in tow!!!

Brand new hotel and it is a superb. Never seen anything similar.
The pool area is enormous with lots of different layers , waterfalls, bridges and a lazy river. It has an indoor pool, gym, helth club and facilities you would never expect in a self catering village. Most importantly, just like the Avanti Hotel it is centrally located.
Staff were very friendly and politely showed us an apartment. The decor is very nice and the apartments are very spacious and luxurious. Very Impressed.
Will try and take our children there this summer.

| said: The hotel was very clean, staff friendly and very helpful with a few problems we had!!
Location was good right next to the triangle with plenty of restaurants, 20 min walk to bar street with more bars and clubs, would definitely go back to this hotel!
Only had a couple of problems with the room our air con decided to flood our room but it was sorted by the following morning!!!
Other than this we had a lovely time the pool is massive with a little pool with a big waterfall, there’s also a small park for younger children and lazy river!!
A nice indoor pool and gym for those unfortunate rainy days too which is also very clean!

| said: Don't be put off by the view from the main road, although some work remains, about 75% of the apartments are now completed and ready for occupation. You are not affected by any disturbance from workmen whatsoever.
The hotel entrance and reception is at the top of a side road and is first class, adjacent to this is the indoor bar area. There is also an outdoor bar and swim up bar. An outdoor area has recently opened where snacks are served at luchtime. There is also a supermarket on site.
The apartments are fine and include airconditioning (remote control) and would confortably sleep up to 5. Maid service 5 times a week but bins emptied every day and toilet rolls left!! The pool area was lovely and quiet and featured a separate small pool with it's own waterfall.
No need to get up early to bag a bed, although this could be becase the kids are back at school. When the complex is fully finished I think the pool area may become rather cramped with a definite shortage of sunbeds. Pool towels are provided at reception free of charge and can be changed as often as you like.
No entertainment available but found the staff to be pleasant and more than helpful. Very good value for money at the moment if you book direct with the Avanti.

| said: Even though we booked as s/c we upgraded to b/b which was located at the main hotel (2 min away)
We used our s/c when we needed to.
The village is a great place for famillies.
The swimming pool was fantastic, with a very large pool(you could walk from on end to the other and still be just below chest high) which was good for the kids.
This pool had another pool whose waterfall trickled into the main pool, it in turn had a larger waterfall which you could walk into. A lazy river to the right .
Entertainment was in the main hotel and at the village(variety) which ranged from musicians to hyptnotist.
great.
Recommend it for anyone with children.
