Arrived in the ova resort on early saturday morning.....seemed nice....rooms fine...atmosphere very relaxed....stayed in resort all day...by sunday my brother had severe stomach pains and was rushed to hospital next morning with acute gastro enteritis....by monday i was also suffering gastro enteritis......later found out that another 4 guests were in hospital and numerous others were in hotel rooms suffering the same.
i complained to manager who was most unhelpful....i would dread to think what this would be like if we had young children with us.....we had this for the rest of the week and our holiday was totally ruined. I would never visit this hotel again.

just returned from the ova resort, very disapointed with the food if you did not like turkish food there was not much choice of anything eles,on the salad bar none of the dishes were coved (only in flys and wasps)could be moved inside, hot food ? more often than not was cold.my wife who will try most foods did not think much of what was on offer.what was left over today was in a kind of stew tomorrow.we ended up eating out of a night.did not like peopel feeding the many cats roaming around the resturant.
rooms basic, clean, beds & pillows hard( nice touch cleaner putting little flowers on pillows)view from room was a tip (it realy was a tip).
entertainment team leo & co very good, worked very hard to keep everybody happy although the guests were the entertainment!!!.
bus to the beach very good, beach nice & quiet, beds & brollys free.

On arrival my partner and myself were somewhat suprised the reports we had read about all the sunbeds being unavailable were true all taken by british guests at seven in the morning and left empty untill some times lunch time our room was extremely cramped and as we had requested a balcony had to speak to management this was put right within twenty four hours and the room we wre given was acceptable the private beach and locatation was to die for the people we met were absolutely fantastic and everyone was friendly my criticism of the hotel was the food was totally unaceptable it was either cold and there was no variety it was the same every night and we took to eating out the second week of our all inclusive holiday overall very dissapointed especially with thomas cook staff and resort rep

Stayed at the Ova in August rooms were cleaned every day found the food good there was a good choice to choose from 15 mins into the town.

The staff were fantastic they couldn’t do enough for you. Entertainment was good the kids seem to love it.

We have just returned after 2 weeks all inc at the OVA. We have been to Turkey several times and most of Europe and some of the Carribean and Africa so feel reasonably qualified to make comments.

I like to have a good read of other peoples comments before I book so I think its only fair to return the favour. I shall stay as impartial and honest as possible and I have no connection with this hotel other than as a paying guset.

ROOM : These are basic and adequate. I heard several different people complain that they were too small and I can see their point. There were 3 of us in 1 room and they simply remove a dressing table and install a fold out guest bed in its place to make the third bed. I thought out room was small but when someone we met there stuck their head in they were shocked at how big it was. God knows how small theirs must have been then. Our air con was very efficient and the shower worked well. The beds and pillows are extremely hard - I like them like this but I did hear some whinging. The balconies are small but at least they have them.

FOOD: Okay I know that a few people go on about how nice the salads were BUT the same thing every day??? Will someone please buy the chef a new book! There is only so much you can do with a tomato, a lettuce, a carrot and an onion. Despite the OVA being all inclusive our group (and others) did tend to visit off site restaurants towards the end of the two weeks as we were all going stir crazy with the lack of choice of food. Every day there are 14 to 15 platters laid out and I could EASILY tell you what will be on them for the next three months. They do make a sort of baked bread thing in a pizza oven and there is a very limited (4?) hot food choice but take the rice and chips away and it tends to be chicken in a sauce or meatball type choice. Hardly worth the queue. Other reviewers will doubtless say I am being picky BUT when we visited a restaurant in town we recognised at least 20 faces from the Ova so I think that says it all. Maybe some people are just easily pleased or havent been to proper 3 star hotels?? Breakfast is the same old same old every day. Afternoon snacks consists of them ringing a bell at the bar and shouting "Tea Time" while 3 trays of offerings appear at the side of the bar. These tended to be cold pizza slices and left overs from the previous days dinner. They also lay out a bit of VERY dry cake and sometimes dry bread rolls.

As a footnote on the food you will see many Turks (and some Brits) who must only ever see a proper spread of food when they go on holiday as they pile any offerings precariously high at each and every meal time. They will run backwards and forwards to their tables like little beavers covering the entire table with a third rate attempt at creating a little banquet and it all looks a little sad really.

The soft drinks that are available while you eat are water (tap), orange cordial and tea / coffee.

You will enjoy the food for the first three days and then probably be like us and others and start to miss the odd meal or eat out.

ENTERTAINMENT: Not bad but pretty predicatable. Mini disco at start (pop a CD on and kids dance) then followed by either a belly dancer / folk dancers / bingo / game etc. Nothing you havent really seen before. The hotel caters for around 500? but they only have around thirty chairs for people to watch the shows. If you dont get one of these you will have to sit on a stone step all night. there is NOT a lounge area to sit and have a relaxing drink and natter at night.

DRINKS : The drinks are basically gut rot specials. The brendy (spelled like that) , Gin, Vodka are more like cordials than a real drink and a few of us visited a local bar to get ourselves a proper drink. We ended up paying £3 a shot for this privilege but their shots are like doubles. I dont drink lager but the ones I spoke to who did said they were drinking literally gallons of the stuff a day on the site and still didnt get tipsy so go figure. There is a plentiful supply of cordial and coke during the day and you never have to wait more than a minute to get served.

THE POOL: We spoke to AT LEAST ten people who were on anti biotics for ear infections whlst we were there. A coincidence? We were alright but I did minimise my time in the pool after seeing these sufferers. It appeared clean and I liked the 'relax' pool at the bottom of the site although there is no shallow end if you have kiddies.

NOTE - YOU WILL NOT - I REPEAT NOT - GET A SUNLOUNGER UNLESS YOU GET UP AT 5 AM AND PUT YOUR TOWEL ON ONE. THIS PRACTICE IS WIDESPREAD AND DONE EVERY DAY AT THE OVA. WHO IS DOING IT? EVERYONE - MOSTLY THE BRITS.

Be like me and just move them and then sit back and watch them squirm when they realise they have put themselves in a confrontational situation!

By far the guiltiest parties for hogging anything at the Ova were the bright red morbidly obese tattooed Brits with their morbidly obese chavvy kids.

The water slide is open twice and a day and is quite good fun. there is never much of a queue for it.

THE AREA: It is about ten to fifteen minute walk out of the resort centre which has a pretty good selection of shops and bars etc. It is a typical Turkish resort where they all try and banter you into their stores. I have noticed the prices of stuff going up considerably since our last visit. Somebody really needs to tell the Turks how cheap we can get stuff here now as they think £8 for a poor copy T shirt is a bargain lol.

The jewellery is the same price as the UK (please dont try and tell me its not as we have had all my wifes Turkish made jewellery valued for insurance purposes) and it was the same as the estimate provided for replacement by a UK jewellers.

The best restaurant we found was called Del Boys Acitkim (spelling?) where you could get a very good steak meal and a drink for a tenner. Everyone we met who went there went back again and again.

The Blue Shangai Chinese restaurant is a nightmare - its like a vesta curry meal.

As someone said earlier on the Jim'll Fix It Bar near the Ova it does overcharge you and you'll get eaten alive by mossies at night.

SUMMARY : You get what you pay for with the OVA. I paid 600 quid a head for two weeks and wasn't expecting luxury for that money. Everything about the place is just acceptable. If you get the holiday for £600 or less then you will probably think you have done OK. If I had paid around the £800 to £900 mark I would have been livid as I could have gone to a real 3 star for that and wouldnt have eaten or drank off site once.

Any of you that have been to a genuine 3 - 4 star all inclusive are going to be disappointed with the food and drinks (big style) but if you have a few kids with you who are constantly swilling soft drinks in the day you will probably get your moneys worth just out of them if you pay sub £600.

Would I go again? Difficult question....... it would have to be really very cheap so I could afford to eat out every night.

Hope this helps folks.

Just come back from Ova Resort and had a fantastic time. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly every day and after guests vacate, even the beds and matresses are taken out of the room to be cleaned!

The food was outstanding. Lots of choice, and lots of traditional food though they do the whole burger chip thing for those that go abroad and still want to eat English food! Would recommend trying the local dishes though as they are excellent. Soups, salads, hot dishes, fish, meat, veg, the list is endless. Cannot understand why anyone would criticise the food here.

Cannot fault the staff, I've been on many holidays, some All-In, some 5 Star, but never witnessed such efficient friendly people. Plates and tables are cleared immediately and bar staff are excellent at their job and enjoy it, which makes all the difference. All the staff are welcoming and cant do enough for you, it really did make the holiday. The entertainment staff are great (Chico, Tu Tu etc) but Murhat, Gurhan, Gurchan, Tolga and all the other guys that wait on you all day deserve thanks too.

My only gripe is the whole sunbed situation ! Seems if you don't put your towel on a bed at 3am, you wont get one, never seen anything like it! I saw towels on beds that never got used all day and its not fair on other guests, though this isn't really a fault of the hotel as they do have signs up saying not to put towels down in advance. Oh, and the adult pool should be adults only !

Other than that an absolutely excellent hotel that I will be returning to very soon !! Thank you so much for a holiday to remember asnd keep up the good work.

I went on the holliday with my nan ang grandad. when we got there we was not happy with the room but like i said to them its only to get your head down and get changed. we went in the middle of the season so it was very good. the food wasnt bad but it was kind of the same every night. the entertainment team well only 2 words for them ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Tutu Leo and Chico. i already new leo anyway from a previous holliday, but they did everythink with you and tried to get you to join in everythink they did. The hotel staff where brilliant the resturant staff and the bar staff Harun,Mehmet, Tolga ect. This was a great holliday expecially how they take you off out to the club of the night you pay for your entrance and with it you get a free drink, also there were 2 swimming pools in the main pool where all the entertainment were was the pool with the slide and the little kids pool, however if you wanted a quiet afternoon just walk around to the RELAXING pool where you wouldnt be interupted that quiet right down to hearing a pin drop. defenetly visit this hotel with friends maybe in october.

We have just returned from the ova and we have had a great time. Infact I would go to say the best holiday we have had in a long time!!

The rooms we clean, the double bed a bit hard but we have gone to Turkey for the last ten years and they always are.

The food was fantastic for breakfast you could have eggs or omelettes cooked to order, then there was a buffet style with cereals, cheese olives etc and most important the Turkish bread I never tire of it! Lunch you could have a snack of a burger and chips at 12.00pm or buffet at 1.00pm.

My son had burger most days and polished it off with an ice cream for afters. Dinner was buffet style, but lots of choice different salads, soup, there were always chips and they did try to cater for everyone one night we had pizza which was delicious, and they did plain veg and chicken in a white sauce some nights to cater for the english and some nights it was typical Turkish food. Some people on resort grumbled about it, then went on to say its not like Benidorm!!! But why would you go all inclusive if you only like English food??

There are loads on restaurants in Hisaronu that do lots of English food so perhaps for those people self catering would have been better.

The entertainment was fun too in the morning they would try and get you to play darts, and then in the afternoon they would try and get everyone involved in a game of water polo. And they always found time for the kids! Chicco took my little boy on the slide a few times and gained his confidence and then he wanted to join in the mini disco at night which shocked me, but Chicco, Tutu and Leo tried to become their friends which I thought was lovely and made the kids really enjoy themselves!

The evening entertainment was varied the only night I didn't enjoy so much was comedy night after the first sketch I didn't really get it, think it was a more Turkish sense of humour thing but it made my little boy laugh! We didn't really venture off resort that much because there was no need the package was great had a lovely time, can't wait to go back next year!!

When we arrived (after a few hours delay) our room wasnt clean. Luckily they had another room available.

The room was basic and we didnt have any hot water. We told the rep and they sent an engineer within minutes.

The hotel staff were friendly and the rep was really nice.

The food was great. Plenty of choice and plenty to eat. Its the first all inclusive we have been on and well worth the money. The drink is ok if you like beer. Both the red and white wine were not very nice. I bought one cocktail and it was very expensive and very weak! Stick to Vodka or Gin!

We found out when we got there that it was the last week of the season. In fact the day we left was the day they closed. This made the atmosphere in the hotel not that great. The staff couldnt really be bothered and you felt they just wanted to leave. The food on the last couple of days was leftovers. There was fresh food aswell. They had run out of some drinks in the bar aswell. Tia Maria and Baileys. The entertainment was pretty poor aswell but as there was only 2 or 3 children there wasnt really much point. The female entertainer had already left. I did speak to the rep about it and she said they have told them about this before but what can you do.

There was a huge storm whilst we were there and we had a huge puddle in our room. This was on our last day so it wasnt really a problem for us.

The free bus to the beach is great and they bring you back for lunch aswell. The beach is lovely and water is warm and calm.

I would stay at the hotel again but would go at the beginning of the season not at the end. Probably May as we were told that in August it had got to 54 degrees

stayed at the ova hotel ovacik, turkey. the staff were extremely helpful in every part of the hotel. okay, the food wasn't the greatest i've ever had but there was a choice and the value for money aspect with the all inclusive package could not be faulted.
rooms although basic, were adequate for their purpose, i don't go on holiday to stop in my room!!
the entertainment team were very amusing and encouraged audience participation. there is a courtesy bus from the hotel to a private beach at olu deniz where sunbeds and parasols are free of charge. cannot fault this!!

Ova Resort Ovacik.

The room was cleaned, clean towels and bedding daily.
The room was basic but sufficient as it really is only for somewhere to sleep and change in.

Most of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful, except for the reception staff, the reception was rarely staffed at all. If you tip the staff you get a better service.

Breakfast was not very good with very little choice, but the other meals were very good, plenty of choice and pretty good turkish food.

The entertainment was OK and pretty good for a 3 star hotel. As we did not stay at the hotel most of the time this was not a problem for us.

I would stay at the hotel again, it suited our requirements.

There is no beech in Ovacik, the nearest beech is Olu Deniz which has a public beech and the blue lagoon which you pay for entry. Both are not really sandy beeches (a bit gritty and stony) but the sea is beautiful and clean.

Thomas Cook were not very good, my partner and I were sat in different parts of the plane on the journey to Turkey and we had to pay extra to ensure we were sat together on the journey home. We were not old that by Thomas cook that we had to vacate the room at 12 noon on the day of departure so we had to sit with our bags outside until the transport picked us up to take us to the airport from 12 noon until 6pm. Thomas cook rep ******* only told us about free transport to a private beech that the hotel use, entertainment at the Talk of the Town in Hisaronu and the Dolmus (mini bus) service. We were not told about anything else, we had to find out for ourselves. The rep seemed more interested in telling us that she married a Turk and that she lived in the area, this was not relevant to our holiday. The rep did not tell us the time the transport would pick us up to take us to the airport we had to ask staff at the hotel. I would not book a holiday through Thomas Cook again.

Hotel cleanliness:
i think the hotel room we was in was definatly clean, the cleaners were there everyday without fail therefore we had clean towels and bedding when ever we needed it.

Food:
there was always plenty of food, and a good variety, so there was always something you would like. the quality was good, not the best but i am very picky.

Location:
the location wasnt bad at all, it was a 10-15 minute walk from shooping centre, and along the road at the bottom, near the hotel there was convenience shops.

staff:
the resteraunt staff were friendly, although i didnt really speak to them much. the entertainment staff were he best i have ever come across, they were great, always happy and ready to help. when i satyed at this hotel there were 3 men & 1 women, the women was more for the chldren and the men were for everyone. they were alot of fun!

entertainment:
the entertainment was good. there was something different everynight, although they did repeat it the second week. but as the markets not far away you czn go there for a change. the best entertainment was the break dancers! unbelievably good!

We stayed at the Ova resort in Ovacik as all inclusive its the first time ever we have done all inclusive and we can recomend this resort to everyone its a fab place. The cleaners did a very good job everywhere was very clean. The food was unbeliveable, plenty of choice and plenty of food all day we were stuffed and the catering staff were brilliant. The location was very good only a casual 15min walk into Hisaronu to lots of night life and shops. The staff were always helpful and the entertainment staff were brilliant, the entertainment itself was good. Yes we would visit the Ova resort again my grandaughter loved it she wants to go back next year. The other facilities available were brilliant also. The private beach is a must for the children, big ones as well,a shuttle bus goes back and forth daily so no need for bus or taxis.Overall we really enjoyed our holiday at the Ova resort, having been to this area for the past(5yrs)it was a totally different experiance and one im sure we will repeat.Well done everyone at the Ova resort for making our holiday wonderfull.

I booked this hotel via the thomas cook t.v programme and thought all inclusive would be a treat for the family.

I read the reviews and was happy until our arrival,we were allocated a very small room for 3 adults and 1 child who is 12yrs.We could not move I nicknamed the room 'the crab room' as you had to move sideway's anytime you wanted to move.

I spoke to the reception who smiled and said 'come back tomorrow'. The first night was a disaster we could not unpack as we did not know if we were moving rooms, the problem was were could we put our cases as there was no room for them.

I returned to the reception early the next morning for our new room to be told,'come back tomorrow'. Our rep Paul had us down on his list as being in room 806 which is the family room. I called the Thomas Cook helpline and Chantelle was fantastic she called the hotel and we got our family room No 806. We shared this with a cockerel in the field about 20 meters away who sang from 1am until about 7am.

The breakfast selection was the worst i have ever seen, no selection at all. Due to the limited kitchen space there was no cool fruit or yogurts everything was warm, I asked for some cold milk to go on my daughters cereal. I am still waiting for the milk!. We had half cooked chicken for our evening meal.

The location from Hisaranu is a pleasant stroll of about 20 mins downhill going, quite steep on the way back.
The staff were very friendly and tried to help with our situation as best as possible.

We stayed a total of 3 day's until we moved on to our new hotel

I realise that our plight can happen to anyone I think it was a poor hotel with very basic rooms and a poor selection of food.

I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from Hisaronu centre.

The hotel is basic but kept very clean and tidy. The gardens surround all the apartments and this has a very Greek feel about it.

The staff are very helpful and welcoming.

The pool area can get very busy but there is a quieter pool to relax around.

We went at the end of season so there was very little entertainment which was a shame.

We all enjoyed this holiday very much, and as always the Turkish people are so nice this makes the holiday even more enjoyable.

We arrived at the hotel around sunrise, the reception staff were very welcoming and friendly, the checking in process was extremley fast! At first glance the area around the hotel looked very quiet! After going to the meeting with our rep we found that it was quite the opposite, the nearbye town of Hisarnu has everthing you could need with a wide selection of bars and restaurants for all tastes it's about a 20 minute walk with shops and bars all the way down, or there's a dolmus that goes past the hotel every few minutes.
The hotel has a free coach that goes down to the private section of the beach twice a day where there are free sunloungers and umberella's or there is the beach of Olu Deniz the Blue Lagoon is beautiful.

The hotel was maintained very well, the towels were changed every day and the rooms were cleaned well.
The room was fairly small but had everthing in it that you need, there is also a hair dryer.

Ozzie, Carlos and Charlie, the entertainment staff at the hotel are fantastic, there's pool activities in the day and lots of audience participation needed, there is music for all tastes played all day if you like that, if not there is a quiet pool where the word very relaxing comes to mind. In the evening the entertainment is varied, there is a kids mini disco, while we was there there was a turkish night, also brake dancers belly dancers etc, they were all very enjoyable shows.

The hotel is suited to a wide variety of people all the staff are very friendly and polite and great with children.

There's a wide selection of food and drinks to choose from we really enjoyed our holiday, we found that a week wasn't long enough!
very good value for mone will deffinatly be booking again for next year had a fantastic holiday Thankyou.

We stayed at the Ova resort hotel in August this year, on approach we were disappointed but this soon changed as we met the staff and found out more about the hotel and what it had to offer.

The food was lovely, salads galore, meat, rice and the chips were the best I have ever had.

Ozzie the entertainment manager was the greatest, he was so attentive and amusing, and Charlie was a new guy although you wouldn’t have guessed it as he had a rapport with the children and louder guests that I have never seen before. The bar team were terrific and fun especially fatih and haken.

Our hotel room was small with only 2 beds in it but very clean and compact with everything you would need on holiday. Towels were changed everyday and bed linen 2 x a week. A hairdryer was available too.

All in all we had a terrific time and would certainly go back there. Very good value for money. Take some tissues cos you will have a few tears as you leave!

On arriving at the Ova Resort Hotel we were given a very friendly welcome and taken to our room where I was pleasantly pleased.
The room was lovely we had two double beds and acamp bed so there was more than enough room for my family.
Our room was cleaned everyday and given clean towels each day too!
The food on the whole was good but breakfast time got a bit boring unless unlike us you liked lots of cheese, tomatoes (continental)etc.
The staff were brilliant and very attentive,
there was nothing that was too much trouble they adored my children and i knew they were safe at all times too!
The pool and the slide were enjoyed by all the children, lets face it thats all that kids want The pool!!
Arda the bar manager was very funny and entertaining and his English was extremely good.
With it being the beginning of the season the nightly entertainment was limited to music around the bar this was because there was only about 50 guests in the hotel at this time, but I was assured as the season got going there would be regular nightly entertainment held by Ozzy and the animation team.
We would definately return back to the Ova Resort next year but probably not right at the start of the season. Thankyou to all the staff who made our stay Fantastic!!!!!!!!
