we stayed at the regente for 4 nights and after some of the reviews ,we were pleasantly suprised .
everywhere nice and clean .. rooms a little small but no big deal. we had breakfast once in the hotel and it was lovely , plenty of choice and as you walked into the restaurant there was a hand sanitizer , which isnt a bad thing .
the entertainment whilst we were there was good , there was a singer and a drag artist comedian which was fun.
all in all we enjoyed our stay there , would go again definitley..take the kids this time !!

Food at the hotel was good, always hot and plenty of choice.

Only problem I had was irresponsible parents allowing their children to play around with food at the serving counter.

The hotel was spotless, and if anyone catches any stomach bugs here it is their own fault.

The hotel location is ideal, just a nice stroll to the beach and not too near to the noisy area of Benidorm.

The staff were all really pleasant, especially the head waiter in the dining room and also the chef. Estelle who ran the hotels entertainment programme was also really good at her job and was friendly.

We have just returned from a 10 night stay in this hotel and what a great time we had, the food was great, entertainment was not bad, hotel was kept clean, staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you the hotel is very safe for children and my daughter had a ball the kids club reps were great and Estelle who organised the entertainment was great with the kids and big kids. We were worried about the reports of a sickness bug but no one was ill in the 10 days we were there and alot of the people we met had been to the hotel a number of times and had no complaints. The hotel is in a good situation as it is away from the main hustle and bustle. Only thing was the walls were a bit thin and and we could have joined in the conversation with the people next door.

Just returned from the Hotel Regente having spent Christmas and the New Year there.

The hotel has had a “face lift” which consists of replacing the bed mattress’s/pillows and the majority of the soft furnishings, there are now brand new chairs in the concert room and reception area.

The bar has been ripped out and replaced with a modern and very simplistic clean looking area, the stage has been moved from one side of the concert room to the far side, by the door that leads to the sunbathing “decking” area.

All new modern light pine coloured doors have been installed on the toilets and telephone cubicle, all the pillars that hold the hotel upright have been encased in a “brushed silver” effect casing with uplighting.

New light coloured laminated floors have been laid in the concert room, reception, restaurant and they have started on the corridors and the rooms….floor 6 has been completed.
On the way down to the restaurant, new silver/chrome handrails and glass panels have been installed

Finally, the old ceiling to floor glass window on the way down to the restaurant has been replaced with a new one that again has the silver/chrome effect frame, which is very modern and lets so much more light in the place, plus a fresh pale lemon colour has been applied to the walls throughout the hotel.
All the above have lifted the hotel into a bright and a more modern looking place.

Now the important bit……
Outside the restaurant doors, fixed on the wall, there are 2 alcohol dispensers (one each side) which automatically dispense a small amount of the alcohol when you put your hand under the sensor….I’m pleased to say that whilst I was there, 99.9% of the people used them as second nature and without any prompting.

I did see the odd ignoramus walk straight passed the dispensers and parents/grandparents who think their kids hands are germ free, but the staff taking note of your room number on entry to the restaurant were also observant, and I did see a member of the staff ask a man who was going to waltz straight into the restaurant, to use the dispenser.

We had no problems throughout the entire holiday with issues that could be related to the problems of the past (Norwalk virus) and nobody was ill that I’m aware off…..everyone seemed to be having a great time and they were putting plenty of food and drink into their stomach’s.
Finally, under the dispenser is a sign, which simply says “It’s in your hands”

We had a great holiday in the hotel Regente and the Christmas/New Year gala meals were well presented, hot and delicious, all the staff worked very hard all day long to please people.
Let me put it this way….I ate more of the gala meals in the Regente, than I had done in previous years, in another well known and more expensive 4 star hotel.
The food throughout the 14 days was hot, varied and well presented.

Being a hotel with predominately British guests, the hotel catered for the British palate and it became like one big happy family, which created an atmosphere that only happens once a year.

The hotel brought in some decent entertainers for Xmas/New Year nights and one guy called Joey legend is a very talented young man.
The usual 2 games of bingo started off each night, but we avoided this by going for a short walk until the entertainment started.
I don’t rate the present compare/DJ that is presently employed, she isn’t a patch on Victor and the less I say about her, the better.!

I (we) will be returning to this hotel because whilst it may be lacking in luxury and the rooms are basic, it makes up for this by being a small, extremely friendly and spotless hotel, due to the high standards of hygiene and cleaning that takes place daily.

All in all, we had a very good time and I’m glad despite all the problems of last year that we spent the festive season in the Hotel Regente and Benidorm.

Video's of the Hotel Regente and New Years Eve (made during my stay) can now be found in the Costa Blanca Video Library.

Please be aware that "the bug" is alive and thriving in the Hotel Regente. According to the Thomson Rep this bug had been confirmed "airborne" three weeks prior to our departure and there was a notice on the Thomson board saying it was all over Benidorm. However they must have forgotten to put this notice in their other hotels because there was not one other Thomson hotel that had this notice on display. The Hospital Levante told us that they have had loads of these cases from the Hotel Regente in spite of the anti-bacterial measures that have been put in place by the Hotel and the environmental health team investigating it. BE WARNED This is not a queasy, yukky, don't feel so good bug. This is a nasty, violent, gut-wrenching, unable to leave the room sickness and diarrhoea bug that will totally wipe out even the healthiest of people for at least 24 hours. Some people who were a little older or not as healthy were ill for up to 4 days, one woman had to be hospitalized because she could not keep her regular medication down. Apart from the loss of holiday days, one party of six lost five days due to them being ill on alternate days, this "bug" is going to kill somebody in winter if something isn't done very, very soon.
I was also very surprised at how many rich families whose kids must attend public school were there as the place was full of them especially round the pool area
Apart from that the hotel remains the same friendly, clean hotel with good food but not worth returning to as we wouldn't want to risk "the bug" again which is a shame as we have always liked this hotel. Looks like it's back to the Rialto next time!

We visited this hotel after looking on holidaytruths.com. We feared sickness & diarrhoea as previous reports had stated, but only half our party sufered, which was strange as it was divided between two rooms with family members escaping the bug. The hotel seemed clean (as clean as a NHS Hospital) and the food was hot and well cooked ( if not a little repepative), but still the bug of benidorm continues!
The hotel is a good walk away from the promonade (10 mins) with plenty of shops on the way.

We traveled to this hotel after looking on holidaytruthths.co.uk (as recomended b a good friend) and decided to go anyway. We went to this hotel in fear of sickness and diarrhoea. Only half of our party ended up with illness, which is strange as it was not dedicated to one room, but shared between two rooms with people escaping the bug in a room with suferers laid in bed dying( man flu symptoms). We enjoyed our stay in the regente, but the food was the main suspect although it was hot and nice? we had worse outside the hotel and paid for the privilage.
Don't drink the pool water(just in case)even though the water is tested daily.

Well where do I start! The food is ok if you like burgers every night. When dishes were empty it took ages for someone to replace them. It was the same food almost every night, by the second week we were eating out.

Our room was clean and an adequate size for a hotel. We had a lovely maid who was really friendly she always cleaned the fourth floor, we bought her some chocolates before we left.

The location of the hotel is spot on, five minutes to the centre with plenty of shops on the way. Its hard to get a sunbed so you have to be up really early to get one.

The pool area is small for the number of guests so be prepared to get splashed alot when you go into the water,or try to sunbathe.

There is still a bad bug thats going round the hotel a little boy was in hospital for a few days he was so sick.

My daughter got it and so did I and it does knock you of your feet for a cuple days so beware.

The staff were OK.

The entertainment was terrible at nights and none during the day.

All in all Benidorm is a great place but I would never stay at this hotel again or advise anyone to stay here.

The bug needs to be sorted out and sorted out now.

This was my first time in Benidorm and we got a good deal with Thomson half board at the regente for 4 nights ( mini break for my daughters 18th birthday ).

I was a bit nervous as I had heard /read mixed reviews. The hotel was pretty clean although I have to say there was a strange smell constantly in the hall ways.

The room we had was more than what I had expected and I would rate the room 8 / 10. Beds were changed every 2nd day and the room was cleaned daily.

Food wise we booked half board and again the food was better than I had expected. Basic choice you would expect from a buffet style restaurant but it was spotless and there was a wide range of food.

Juice tea coffee ect included with breakfast and the drinks with evening meal were very good prices. The staff were great and dirty plates were cleared away with speed etc etc.

We had a late night flight and were able to keep our room until 6pm for an extra 25 euro which I thought was great value. On the down side, If I were staying longer I wouldn't have been too happy with the pool area which was small and had to many beds crammed around it.

We only spent hour at the pool and spent the rest of our time at the beach.

All in all I will visit Benidorm again and i will stay at the Regente, infact I have looked to book for week at the end of July and its full......

The hotel is 2 / 3 star and you get a little more than you pay for.

You don't get a luxury 2 / 3 star hotel so dont expect one and you will be fine.

Would definitely stay at the Regente again, we usually do Self Catering but got a good price on half board with Thomson.

We found the choice and quality of food on offer very satisfactory for what is considered a 2 star Hotel. Full English every day or a choice of cereals, toast, fresh fruit and continental style breakfast on offer with free tea/coffee & juices. Evening meal just as varied with salads, soup & a choice of multiple dishes from which surely anyone could find something to their taste, all well cooked and presented.

The hotel staff we found to be excellent at their jobs, always polite and courteous and the maids do a sterling job, which brings me on to the Hotel cleanliness which was of the highest order. During our stay we had our room cleaned; and towels changed everyday, also all public areas kept spotless. As I mentioned earlier we don`t usually do Hotels but if this is the standard of a 2 star, well higher rated ones surely can`t do much better.

Have given a neutral rating for entertainment as we didn`t see any of it, but from the notice boards it appeared to be usual hotel fare, but how can they compete with all the entertainment on offer in Benidorm itself.

All in all a very happy customer.

This is my 3rd time in this hotel and we are already booked to return for Xmas.

Nothing has changed since my last review, the hotel remains spotless and the staff are very helpful and extremely friendly.

The food remains varied, well presented and a good standard, there is something on offer for everyone each night regardless of your preferences.

The walls are thin, but like anywhere else it all depends if you have considerate neighbours next door, overall we have been fortunate, but it could be a problem depending on the time of year you stay in the hotel.

The resident compare Stephen tries hard to keep people entertained with bingo, quizzes and playing music before the “outside” entertainers come in to perform their act, around 10 pm, then he does karaoke.
It’s not easy to please everyone especially when you are following in the footsteps of Victor who was the previous DJ/compare and a very well liked young man.

The Hotel Regente being officially a 2* hotel just cannot compete with the entertainment and competition in town and most people go out in the evening to sample the entertainment on offer in Benidorm, so please give the guy a break, he does work hard.!

All in all, a very good value for money hotel with good food, excellent staff and situated in a quieter part of town, but only a short stroll away from the beach and the centre of the entertainment in the town.

We found the hotel offered good basic accommodation at a good price.

Most of the staff very friendly, especially the reception staff, who where all very patient with our 7 year old grandson's attempt at trying to speak Spanish! One or two of the bar staff could do with a few lessons in manners, though.

Plenty of food choice in the restaurant and found all the staff in their to be very pleasant.

We only stayed in the hotel at night twice, once because our grandson wanted to see the parrot show, I think the price they charge for photo's with the parrot on your shoulder is a bit steep at 10 euro's each. The resident compare, Stephen, is really naff. Tries to sing...he can't, cracks jokes...nobody laughs, the guy is really poor. Another act is a singer/comedian/impressionist....too bad for words.

This was our second visit to the Regente, and overall found it a good value for for money hotel in a decent location.

The hotel was clean and basic but did the trick. The cleaning staff and reception were pleasant and helpful.

The food was ok, lunch menu was better than morning and evening selection.

I thought the bar staff were very unhelpful and quite ignorant but still expected to be tipped??

Evening entertainment was tacky, I suppose it was because the hotel was mostly full of pensioners.

I was also shocked at their weekly appearance by their so called comedian. Jim Davidson eat your heart out, more right wing than Kilroy.....

Hotel is very clean. Cleaning staff work very hard all day. Was pleased that we recieved clean towels on a daily basis. On the day that we departed we used the courtesy shower room and we were told that the hotel dosent provide towels so we had to dry on the dirty towels that we had used around the swimming pool for the last two weeks!

Not that impressed by the food, found a lot of the dishes were repeated every other day and there was nothing much to tempt the children, would be better if they had a sepertate counter for children.

The location of this hotel was good as it was away from all the hustle and bustle, but within walking distance of the beach, bars and restaurants.

The staff were great especially the men that worked on reception, very helpful and pleasant.

The entertainment was fantastic courtesy of Victor who is fabulous at his job.

The only major thing that really bothered us was being able to hear everything that our neighbours were up to, the walls are very thin!
We would visit this hotel again.

Plenty of beers saw to that for us. Could not really quote on entertainment as we never stayed for any.

The breakfast was good something for everyone but evening meal was very disapointing we are willing to try anything but it was always the same food with little variation, example yorkshire puddings with beef twice then 1 night with pork, shepherds pie twice etc etc.

We found the bar staff were not very helpful and rarely smiled. Reception staff were good and helpful. The maid was great though and changed our towels regularly and when we kept a late room on day of departure she gave us extra towels.

The entertainment was not very good. A couple of average singers and usual bingo.

Sunbeds crammed in around the pool and you had to be up early to get your towel on one.

Food was below average and same stuff. The bar closed at 1.30 on the dot, even if you were half way through your drink!

Overall not a happy holiday and we won't be back to this hotel. Location was good, as 10 minutes to beach and the promenade.

We found the Regente to be a lovely hotel. Our rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and beds changed in the week we stayed there.

Breakfast was ok of you liked a cook breakfast every morning. The evening meal had some great varieties of things to eat, from roast beef and yorkshire puds to salmon, chilli, curries and the desserts were to die for. My 6 year old always found something to eat.

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the beach. The hotel staff were all friendly and the guys on reception couldnt do enough to help.

Thomsons have their own kids club at the hotel which was great,it is on 5 days and 3 evenings giving you 2 hours to do what you want. Victor who runs the hotel animation was fab and he had all the kids joining in, as well as adults.

I enjoyed the hotel entertainment, apart from the fact that they had an adult entertainer in what is a very family orientated hotel.

The only problem I found was that if you sleep in after 8am the chances of getting a sun bed in the height of the season have to be nil, people are claiming chairs at the sign of first light.

I would go back to this hotel again.

We all loved staying at the Regente. The hotel was lovely and clean and none of us got the 'bug'.

Rooms were on the small side as we had bunk beds in there for the kids, but, then again we only used the room to sleep and shower.

Entertainment with Victor during the day was great, there is something going on round the pool every day and the kids loved it and made loads of friends.

At night we generally went out, but, lots of people did stay in hotel.

We all thought the food was excellent and never wanted to eat out as it was so good.

All in all, we would definitely stay at the Regente when we return to Benidorm.

This was my first time in this hotel and having stayed in many hotels in Europe and Benidorm previously, ranging from 3* to 5* I was not disappointed, and the 2* rating should be changed to a 3* IMO.

The rooms are “basic” in the respect that you don’t have a sea view, a hairdryer or the opportunity to hire a mini-bar, but you can hire a fridge at €4 a day ….although there is a vending machine in the reception that sells bottled water and cold drinks (cans).

The entertainment consisted of various acts appearing from around 9-30/10ish each night with either bingo or the resident DJ playing records before and afterwards until the bar closed at 1-30am, but this apparently changes when the hotel goes over to the summer brochures and the average age of the guests will also change.

These entertainers were also appearing and “bill boarded” in various venues around town,…it certainly beats miming in my view….some were good, some average.

The food matches any 3* hotel that I have ever stayed in, there was plenty of choice each night and considering that this hotel functions on a 2* budget, then the head chef does an excellent job in providing standard wholesome food.
There is a gala night each week with a carvery and Sunday night is the traditional roast beef and Yorkshire puddings plus 3 vegetables…...plus other choices.

My hubby had an excellent Tikka Masala one night and a chilli con carne another night. I also ate rainbow trout, salmon and fresh prawns.... not bad for a 2* hotel IMO.

People were moaning about the food, but they still managed to fill their plates up every night from the buffet and went back for more, and considering the price that some of them paid for 2 x weeks full board with flights and transfers included, then I really do not know what they were expecting.

Someone was complaining about the beds being hard and feeling the springs through the mattress and the fact that there were holes in the sheets.

There was nothing wrong with our beds, this hotel has been renovated not that long ago and the beds were all new.
The sheets were changed every 3 days and one change of sheets did have a couple of very small holes that looked like cigarette burns in them, but it didn’t stop me from sleeping or make me sleep any better….the sheets were clean and that’s all that mattered to me….I was not in a 5* hotel or had paid 5* prices.

I had clean towels every day and the room cleaned.

Now with regards to the “bug” that is not only in this hotel, but is in Benidorm and other hotels as well.
After having a lengthy conversation with the Director, I can again truthfully state that this hotel has bent over backwards to try and eradicate this “bug”, and this is probably one of the cleanest hotels in Benidorm at the moment.

The whole place is thoroughly cleaned daily and they have disinfected all door handles, lifts, remote controls, air vents etc….and this is still being carried out.

The Director has placed notices in all toilets (men and women’s) urging people to please wash their hands using the facilities that are ready available…..

There is only so much that an hotel can do, and I will say that the general public are also contributing to the infectious cycle of this “bug”.

I witnessed people walking straight off the street and into the restaurant without washing their hands…including one ignorant old guy who insisted on placing his walking stick which had been all over Beni, on the clean white tablecloth to “save” his table while he went and picked bread up with his hands instead of using the tongues available.

I was ill with sickness and diarrhoea for the first 12 hours and then I had no problems. afterwards
Where I picked that “bug” up could have been anywhere, from the plane including the meal, the coach, a door handle or anywhere that some inconsiderate person had left their germs, but I continued to eat in this hotel for another 13 days afterwards without problems and my hubby had no problems from day one.

I’m going back in 4 weeks and believe me….I would not return under any circumstances, even if it meant I would lose all my money, if the hotel was not clean or good value.

As stated by previous reviews be aware the "Bug" is still around both husband and I were ill. So ill infact, that husband lost a stone in weight. We think this is attributed to the food as we ate elsewhere and were not ill. Many old and young people were ill too with upset stomachs and coughs. Entertainment poor.

Staff nice but as there was a problem with this "Bug" in September and it is still continuing perhaps this hotel should be closed for a short while. If anyone else knows what this airborne bug is perhaps you can let other reviewers know as my husband is a diabetic and the hospital are quite concerned.

This is a 9 storey hotel with two lifts that work ok.

Was allocated on floor 7 in clean spacious room with twin beds and balcony facing quite Monaco side street. TV in room if you pay a remote control deposit of 20 euro but did not use this option.

Food was good all week. Location Avenida l'Ametlla de Mar approx 300 metres from sea front and close to Gerona for cabaret bars. All hotel staff ok. Stayed in hotel bar first night to see entertainment which was ok.

Would use this place again.

We found the standard of this Hotel very good. Certainly it must be placed at the very upper end of the 2* Hotel Grade.

The Hotel was very clean, and well managed. The Food was well cooked and varied, with consideration for the amount paid.

The Staff and Management were always available to help when required, and the entertainment was above average for this standard of Hotel.

The Thomson's Rep. made Herself available more than most, and the security within the Hotel at night was very good.

As Our visit was in the middle of Winter, I can't comment on the outside Entertainment,or the Pool. However We found the "Regente", to be a nice quite Hotel, and very good value for Money.

We would not hesitate to go there again.

Spent two weeks in this hotel the food was awful there was no variety and what was available was not nice.

The water in the morning out of the machine was never boiled properly so the tea was digusting. The location of the hotel is not at all good you look out on to huge high rise hotels all around you.

We found the room was always kept clean and the beds were always made up everyday but the walls are so thin you here every bit of noise around you. We think we had a horse above us at night it was clip clop across the ceiling at about 1.30 in the morning people have no consideration for others sometimes.

We picked the wrong hotel for us that is for sure.

Having stayed at this hotel many times with no problems at all I am so bitterly dissapointed to return after being ill in the September to find there is still this nasty bug still in the hotel. People have said there were wipes the day before we arrived but I never saw any, several rooms on our floor had somekind of illness from the diahorrea and sickness to chesty coughs.

It will be a shame if this fine hotel does nothing about this they know there is aproblem but they seem to be sweeping it under the carpet the rep said it was brought in from the street or it came from Wales if you go and get it you have been warned.

Have arrived back from the hotel today, the hotel is graded 2 star but is better than higher graded hotels I have been to.

The pool is lovely and was warm even! There were free sunbeds, but the area is cramped and people put towels on sunbeds to reserve them which meant they were taken by 8am. The staff were fine, would not describe them as particularly friendly, but were professional in what they did.

The food was quite good and what you would expect really, catering mainly for British tastes etc. Enough variation for most tastes. The room was fine and cleaned daily, with the exception of the bed sheets which remained unchanged for the 1 week duration.

Cannot comment on the entertainment as we went out each night, but there was artists and events on show, overall we were perfectly happy with what we got for the price we paid.

Very nice hotel, good selection of food.

Everyone we spoke to said they were very happy with this hotel.

Perhaps the pool area is a little crammed but it didnt seem to bother anyone.

Rooms were cleaned every day,

There is a very friendly atmosphere here we would definately stay here again.

Evening entertainment ok but we prefer to go out and about.

This hotel was great me and my friends enjoyed it very much. We were half board but when you don't get in until 6:00am you don't see much of the breakfast!

We did eat breakfast twice and those times is was beutiful plenty of choice. The evening meal was brillient lots of choice again but not so much for vegetarians my friend lived on fish, potatoes and vegetables for a week.

The hotel was clean and fresh, the pool area was great, had a bar next to it and a built in jacuzzi. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We did not stay in the hotel on a night for the entertainment so i could not comment on it.But they did advertise singers and entertainment on boards every night.

The location is reasonable 10mins walk from the beach and 15mins walk to 'the square' where there is excellent nightlife. Would definatly go again and recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting Benidorm.

Hello,I stayed in the Regente last year and thought the place was ok.

Walls a bit thin, entertainment not good, food ok,pool ok,bar service ok. This year stayed up the road at the Flamingo Oasis. Much better hotel (read my review on this hotel).

Popped down to Hoxtons pub a few times (opposite Regente) and had a pint or two during visit this year( at the beginning of june). Spoke to some friends who had stayed at the Regente last year and were staying again this year. They were unhappy. Said the place had food poisening people were layed out all over the place. This was confirmed by a young (unhappy couple with there two children )who we picked up on the bus on the way home. Apparantly the reps were trying to blame everything else except the hotel.

Although the hotel staff were excellent and our rooms were always kept spotless, the meals were poor, monotonous and bland.

Pool area was let down by the amount of people allowed to come in off the streets and use it. Also people from overlooking apts used the pool as well.

Entertainment on a night time was really poor to non-existent.

I know this is only a two star hotel but we did expect a bit more! I can't believe my travel agent recommended this hotel to us. (I must have upset her in the past).

I would not recommend this holiday to anyone.

Hi just returned from this hotel and it is great, the hotel as been refurbished all the way through with a new swimming pool.

The food was very good all English cooked breakfast every morning plenty of choice. We where on full board the lunch and evening meal also had plenty of choice.

This is a 2 star hotel but you would easily say it was a good 3 star.

The staff are very friendly. Clean dining room tables a soon as you have finshed your first course.

The rooms are cleaned every day and fresh clean towels.
Only problem we had a old man snoring in the next bedroom so we thought the walls are a bit thin, we were not getting in till 2 0r 3 in a morning.

Overall it is a great hotel

Went in October school week, the weather was glorious for October, my sons 16 and 18 had a great time, the hotel was clean, i found the staff friendly.

I am considering going back July 2006 with husband, mother and father and 2 boys aged 9 and 11.

The hotel was far enough out of the biz but close enough to walk to visit. Loads of little pubs and bars nearby.

Entertainment was a bit on the awful side but at least the bingo was fun.

This is the third time I have stayed at the Regente and I think it is wonderful value for money.

I cannot comment on the evening meals because I always eat out in either tapas bars or Spanish restaurants however breakfast was quite adequate, very much the Spanish hotel norm.

The staff are the friendliest I have encountered in a Spanish hotel.

The location is reasonable near enough to everything really, but nice and quiet in the evenings, so you get a good nights sleep.

The hotel has been modernized since last year and is air-conditioned throughout now which again improves the comfort in the rooms.

Would not hesitate to go back or recommend the hotel to anyone looking for somewhere reliable for a reasonable price.

The rooms here were very spacious & cleaned regulary with balcony.

Food was good but could have done with a little more variety.

Sunbathing area on balcony was great as more space then by the pool.

Entertainment was a little drab.

Staff could have been a little friendlier especially one guy who was very rude at times.

Very close to beach & bars.

All in all for price paid was a bargain & would go back

Good location. Food good but would have liked more choice for vegetarians. Very clean. Classed as a 2 star but should be a 3. Entertainment every night and very good children's disco with Carlos. Excellent value for money. Only downside lifts a bit slow and only 2 lifts (9 floors). All the guests friendly and no trouble. Warning though a friend of mine had her bag taken outside the hotel a few months prior but we saw no trouble when we were there.

We thouroughly enjoyed our 11night stay at the hotel regente. As soon as we got there we where made to feel very welcome. We were checked in very quickly although there is not enough room in the lift for 2adults and 2 suitcases luckily though we were only on the first floor. The room was really clean and the food was very good.

If you want to get a sunlounger around the pool make sure you get there very early otherwise youll have to wait till about 4oclock. There is a happy hour at the bar three times a week between 5-6pm.the entertainment is ok mainly for children.

It is located close to all the bars about 10min away from the square. I would definetly visit this hotel again. It is excellent value for money.

You won't be disappointed with this hotel. It has been totally refurbished in 2003.
The rooms are cleaned everyday to a high standard.
The air conditioning is a godsend in the summer!
The food is reasonable but not really exceptional. The staff are very good apart from one barman, who is notoriously rude at times (a kind of Spanish Basil Fawlty) The manager doubles as a bingo caller in the evening, quite amusing. The pool barman is a particularly friendly helpful guy.
I don't stay in for hotel entertainment but it's there if you want it.
The hotel is about 10 minutes stroll from the beach and about 10/15 minutes from the main nightlife.
All in all a decent enough hotel.
