| said: Just returned from Kaya Belek and had fantastic week.
Hotel recently been refurbished to a very high standard and is beautiful and kept spotlessly clean. Rooms all cleaned daily very well and all communal areas immaculate, although pool toilets could get bit smelly by the end of the day, but lobby and bar toilets spotless and beautiful! Always someone mopping a floor or polishing something, and they dont possess a wet foor sign!
Rooms comfortable although for the first few days our fridge didn't work, we didn't mention it but someone repaired it without being told after a few days! 'Air conditiong' in rooms is a glorified fan, people were moaning but left running day and night it did the job and rooms were lovely and cool.
Food gorgeous and plentiful, breakfast very basic and not the best but tides you over to amazing pizzas cooked in the ovens at the snack bar. Evening meals amazing if you can stand the heat and go outside where they cook in the outdoor ovens in front of you. Inside restaurant even more food, all very good and alot coler and non smoking!
Lifts have minds of their own, usually easier to walk the stairs if you can be bothered, they have a habit of sailing past or containing a child but its great exercise!
Pool bar lovely at night, didn't try the entertainment but they definitely get a gold star for effort! Definitely a lazy hotel and not for anyone who's easily bored.
Staff all quite nice and helpful but English not their best language and we're definitely in the minority amongst the Turks, Russians and Germans so did struggle a few times! Generally they were quite helpful and polite though, check in definitley brings Fawlty Towers to mind but worth a laugh!
Hotel quite a way from anywhere, Belek 20 minutes away in Taxi but rank straight outside the Hotel gates and apparently quite reasonable, area where the Hotel is mostly All Inclusive Hotels so not much in the way of stuff to do that we saw. Shops in Hotel all nice and staff struggle by with English, none of them could work Lira though so in hindsight wish we'd taken Euros!
Generally a fantastic holiday, beautiful hotel, pools fantastic and rooms comfortable!

| said: Hotel Cleanliness: On the whole was very clean and there are cleaners busily cleaning all day and night but the pool toilets were rather smelly.
Hotel food: As it was all inclusive it does get a bit boring after the first week. You would never starve as there was food to be found a short distance from anywhere you may be. The main restaurant had no air con and was stiffling, they kept the doors and windows open but then you got cigarette smoke coming in and the dreaded birds that seem to fly in and just sit pecking the bread and cakes. A real hygiene hazard given the bird flu thing. It was hard to find a clean table and I had to turn the table cloth myself sometimes and my hubby got cuttlery himself!
Queuing for food would be fine except that the former Soviet Block guests (who make up at least 97% of guests) are rude and refuse to queue. They like to push in and push you out. They grab the serving spoons off you and hide excess food in their large canvas bags. The A'La Carte Restaurants are good for a change and more peaceful as the main restaurant area has unruly Soviet children running around and scarily skating around on some sort of wheelie shoes!! Very unsafe where there is hot food stuffs!!
Hotel location: The Thomson description says this hotel is on the doorstep of Belek and Kadriye, but this is a blatant lie as you have a 10 minute journey by a trailer to Kadriye and a 20 Euros taxi fare to Belek!!! No cafes, bars restuarant anywhere near by, so don't believe the brochure!
Hotel staff: Generally ok but only a handful are genuinely friendly. Some are just after a tip. The A'La Carte waiters are fantastic. I kept getting spoken to in German even though I clearly spoke in English!!
Hotel entertainment: Nothing to shout about. No indoor entertainment, the theatre is outside in the stiffling heat and where insects like to nibble you. Also outside is not smoke free so non smokers beware!! Never saw any bingo which is noted in holiday description!!

| said: Again, The Sun Zeynep is not 5*, more like 3*. The hotel itself is clean but the rooms were very scruffy and the maids sometimes only took 5 minutes to clean it!
Food was repetetive, gave up eating by the 2nd week. We went with some friends and luckily none of us was too ill. As long as you are careful with what you eat there should be no problem. The hotel is on a long strip with other hotels. These varied in colour and size.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The main problem was safety.
The adults and children both plaid football with no shoes on. There were a number of broken toes, legs and ankles. The entertainments staff were only helpful if you were Russian or Turkish. Ah! The Russians. They have now replaced the Germans in my heart. Rude and pushy!
Although we did not have a bad holiday (mainly because of the company) I would not go back again.

There was no air con in the main restaurant which was boiling hot and you couldn't stand it for very long. Doors were left open so it was free for insects and birds to fly around and perch on the supposingly fresh produce.
Whilst we were there many people came down with a serious stomach upset and ear infections many were admitted to the local hospital and many had treatment from the resident doctor we are still suffering back at home and are being tested for salmonella poisoning.

| said: The hotel was lovely always kept clean and tidy.
Hotel rooms ok maids come in every day to tidy and hover and they are friendly.
Food was very nice especially when you see them cooking outside try their bread it's amazing. The only the I was annoyed at was the served a lot of turkey every night in fact but still lovely.
Pools outside are really nice can get a bit busy but what do you expect in heat like theirs? The inside pool is amazing freezing cold but good. Sea can be a bit rough so watch the kids in it, water sports rather cheap we tried parasailing it was amazing.
Staff are friendly and are helpful you be nice to them and they're the same back.
Entertainment isn’t up to much at all we sat most nights at the pool bar it is really lovely at night sitting there as there is live music played. The lobby bar I liked as well as it’s a tad cooler in there.
Location I liked very much out the road off everything and you know the kids are going to be safe. Some people may not like the location as there is nothing around you whatsoever.
About holiday money we took English and Turkish lira but I would advice against taking lira as you are cheaper taking English or euros.

| said: We expected the British to be in the minority as we did alittle bit of homework prior to booking - so we were not surprised- The Germans & Russians are catered for more so due to the fact that they have a policy of employing Turkish people and therefore there language skills revolve around this.
So we went there also knowing that the area was a little secluded - again we expected this - What can I say this was the most relaxing holiday we have had in a long time - we read / sunbathed and generally chilled out - superb.
The pool does get quite busy but there are numerous sunbeds on the beach with mattresses and parosols and we were never at a loss to find space whatever time of day we went down.
The food was extremely good, my daughter is very hard to please with regard to food but there was always something for her to eat, as for me,I never eat desserts or cakes, but if there is one thing you should try is their cakes, they are to die for.
Accomodation we found to meet our needs admirably and the staff were all very pleasant and try to please.
The Thomas Cook Kids Club was very good also, my daughter eager to attend most events.
All I will say is that your holiday is what you make it.

| said: When we walked in we went wow !!! When we left we couldn`t get away quick enough.
The staff`s grasp of english is very poor or they couldn`t be bothered as they only wanted to be helpful to the very large contingent of Germans and Russians
Food was ok but you had to queue sometimes quite a long time only for the above mentioned to push in. This was very frustrating and upsetting for the kids who we encouraged to choose their own food,(this was the same at all meal times).
Nothing to say about the entertainment except `pants`
The pool area although large didn`t have enough beds in the shade which meant getting at 6.45am to reserve the unreservable beds (some holiday that when you can`t get a lie in if you want).
We were warned by the rep there had been some people with ear infections so use ear plugs (ever tried to buy ear plugs in Turkey )
we all left the hotel with either ear infection or viral infection and awaiting to hear if we are going to be compensated for a rotten time there.
We shall never return ,never I say never.

| said: Kaya Belek is supposed to be a 5 star. We did feel this was stretching the truth a little. More like a 3 star. The rooms were cleaned regularly, and the cleaning staff did a great job, but the rooms are very dated, shabby carpets, etc.
The food was good in all, we could usually all find something we liked each night. The outside cooking was really nice, but you had to queue for a long time to get your food.
Some of the staff were ok, but mostly all a bit grumpy, tutting as they picked up your childs plate if they had left food on it. The all-inclusive drinks were very limited.
The hotel was on the beach with it's own private beach, which was good, good selection of reasonably priced watersports which we used a lot.
The entertainment team were very friendly to us, but did encourage the Russians to take part more than the Brits.
The evening shows are mainly in Russian and German, you had the odd word spoken in english. We gave up going after a few evenings of the kids being bored, because they couldn't understand.
The British Reps were great, British kids club good too. Our kids loved the slides.
Two of us in the party had ear infections in the 2nd week, which meant a trip to the hotel doctor for 4 consecutive days, which meant no swimming for 4 days. (Try telling a kid this!!).
Doctor thought this infection would have come from swimming under water in the pool!!
Thoroughly enjoyed the "Gala Dinner" they have every 2nd Friday.

Food fine.
No air conditioning in the loby bar area unless 5-10 people complained - then they would put it on.
Entertainment poor.
Dining area - finding a clean table was very difficult no matter what time we went to diner.
Various trips to the hospital with two adults in the party - ear infections. Pool - witnessed "an accident" in the pool by a young child. In my view the pool should have been shut down - oh no very nice to watch the staff fishing things out of the pool and placing it in a clear plastic bag - see story in local paper of over 140 people being sent home this year through the pool.
Would not go again.

The food was very repetitive and sometimes you had to queue for quite a while before being served, and then there are the Russians and Germans who do not believe in queing!!!!
The Staff are friendly, but speak very little English - they pay more attention to the Russians and Germans.
As for the entertainment - only one word "pants" again probably ok if you speak German or Russian - but we didn't understand a word. The kids mini disco was a farce, nothing for the English, just rubbish songs and dances in a language the kids don't understand!
Most of our party were ill with stomach bugs there and since returning home - we now understand there is a problem with one of the pools.
Definitely would not go back - even if it was free!!

The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels given. The food was very nice , maybe a bit repetetive. They also had a few theme nights which were fun. there is quite alot to do in the hotel surrounds, which is a good thing as you had to go quite a long way to reach anything outside of the hotel. The evening entertainment was'nt that great, they had a mini disco for the children, and a live show that the reps would put on. Never saw a mention for the adult disco, so don't know whether or not it was being run.
On the whole a fantastic holiday ,lovely weather lovely hotel, would go back tomorrow.

Lunchtime barbeque excellent and afternoon coffee and cakes, you can cetainly over indulge! Visit the lady in the nomad tent who makes Turkish flatbread throught out the day.
When we arrived English people were in the minority but by the end of the holiday this was no longer the case. The staff in general were very friendly in particular the entertainment staff, its does appear that they are geared up for the German and Russian guests but this is not the case if you get to know them, they work very hard.
The only minus point is that it is isolated, the nearest town is 45 minute walk.

| said: First, the hotel isn't really 5 star, more like 4 Star, however we only paid 3 star prices and were completely satisfied.
The food was really good, and the Ottermans restaurant great, just a note here, most Guests either didn’t know about it, or thought you had to pay extra for it. In fact you just book at the desk in the lobby opposite reception.
Next, location. It is about 4km to the nearest small town, abut 45 minutes walk or a Euro retun on the bus.
Not much there really, but you can book days out with at least a couple of small tour operators there at a fraction of the cost of the Thomas Cook trips and they pick you up at the entrance to the hotel grounds.
Now the hotel staff, they are as good as it gets, cannot praise them highly enough, no need to say more.
The entertainers work very hard in about four languages, to get the most out of the entertainment you need to work at it, and interact with with the performers. The live music (duo) was ok, and we (60 plus) did more dancing in a couple of weeks than in the last few years.
Will we return, yes, but maybe to the sister hotel near Side.
Places to visit, Side with tourist shops and extensive remains of an ancient city which you can wander around at your leisure. More ancient remains at Perge (near Antalia) are worth a visit, also the Roman theatre Aspendos.
As mentioned by others English speaking guests are in a distinct minotity, but this only enhanced out entertainment.

| said: Have just returned from the Kaya Belek hotel what can I say a fantastic hotel we stayed for two weeks and it is worth a 4* for the hotel.
The only downside of this hotel is the reception staff who we found unfriendly. It is also packed with a few nationalities the majority being the Germans who we personally thought seemed to be catered for more than any other nationalities. When we were there we only came across around about 30 english people.
The meals in the hotel are excellent and there is a wide variety of choices.
There is a restaurant near the beach and pool that serves snacks on a dinnertime. You can also eat in the main restaurant for all of your meals and this was the place that had the most choice the food was in the hall or outside where they did the BBQ food. You can also use the three speciality restaurants but beware you must book in advance when you arrive there is an Italian, fish and BBQ. All very nice and in the Italian the meals are vast about 10 courses!!!
There are 8 pools one is indoor, one is shaded another one is for kids with slides and water features excellent for children the other 5 are outside and excellent. Our child is 3 and he loved them especially the kids one also next to the slide pool is a free bouncy castle.
I must warn other parents for some strange reason the bouncy castle and slides are not operative before 10am and go off at 2pm-4pm why we don't know but it did get annoying as the kids wanted them on all day. Beware on the slides as the adults use them as well and this could be dangerous if you have children.
The entertainment choice is either the pool bar where there is a couple singing and playing the keyboard which was repetitive but the animation team are excellent very good. If you go say hi to Alpi, Coco, Jetski, Maile (Junior) and Sercan they are all wonderful very friendly and a good laugh. There is also a group of people that are the kids reps and they are excellent say hello to Serbay who is great and very friendly.
For the whole fortnight the animation team put on loads of different shows as we laughed all night. There is also a mini disco for kids from 8.30pm-9.00pm which is excellent my son attended every night.
Hotel is very clean and very spacious but it has no shops nearby but there are a few shops on site for your newspapers, inflatables and snacks.
I would definitely go back to this hotel again as the animation staff made my holiday and we became good friends with them and didn't want to leave. 10/10 for the entertainment.

This hotel is brill, maybe not 5* but possibly a 4* but by Turkish standards and that is what it is rated on it is a 5*.
Hotel is spotless, food is brill with themed nights every night, food for the kids, chips, burgers, sausage, etc etc.
Service from the staff is great we had no complaints, if your polite they are too - manners cost nothing.
There are a lot of germans and they can be rude and push in but you get that everywhere and sometimes English can be just as rude!
The beach and pool area are very clean and the entertainment team are great and the shows are really good - one of the best.
Plenty for kids to do with the water slides, games room, water sports etc - our kids were 12 and 8 the first time we went and didn't get bored not even the second time we wnet back.
Would we go back - yes without a doubt - done 5* in Crete and elsehere but would always be drawn back to Kaya Belek.
Enjoy!!

| said: What can i say, what a fantastic hotel. There is so much for kids to do here that they end up having to choose! There are two kids clubs one run by the hotel for kids from 4-16 (divided into 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 &13-16), and thomas cook have there clubs there too. The animation team work their butts off from 10am - midnight everyday to make sure that there is plenty to do for everyone. There are four restaurants- Buffet, Italian, Fish & BBq (the last three have to be booked at in advance), and the kids reps will take the kids in the evening for dinner & disco if they want to.
The hotel provides pool towels, and the slide pools are fanatstic who needs a waterpark?
Quick tip don't bother with the Lira, it is complicated and everyone quotes in euros & english pounds even on the markets, which are dirt cheap for everything from fake designer goods to game boy games.
The pool bar only serves beer & soft drinks during the day, which is great because it discourages the heavy drinkers from getting drunk, making it a much better enviroment. Once a fortnight ther is a balck & white gala night when you are required to dress accordingly, so make sure you include something balck & white in your case.

| said: Excellent hotel with wonderful facilities.
We always stay all inclusive so we generally know what we are going to get. This hotel is about the best that we have stayed in by far.
It is set right on the beach and has a wonderful waterpark area for the children with slides and a waterfall, which is also free i might add.
The food is wonderful and you can eat anything from turkish kebab and chips to salmon. There is a bookable (free) italian and bbq restaurant. The italian is set alongside the beach and is alfresco. There are about 7 courses and the waiter makes a rose out of the serviette for you as you leave.
We took 2 children with us and they were more than entertained with the games room. In here they had a mini market, hair salon, leather shop, souvenir shop, clothes shop, pin ball machines, internet area, ping pong tables and snooker.
There is a doctor on site also.
There is a bus stop at the gates of the hotel that will take you to the markets in magnavat/side for about 3/4 pounds. you can also go to the local shops kadryie for 50 cents! a bargain!!
All in all it is a lovely hotel that we would love to return to...........

| said: We travelled with Sun Express Turkish airline at it was fantastic, loads of leg room and very friendly staff, on arriving at the hotel we were amazed to see how huge it was and the swimming pools are bigger than they look in the brochure. The rooms are spacious and clean the hotel staff do everything to please you. The food is incredible with theme nights every other night including Turkish, Chinese etc. Gala night is on every other Friday and everything is decked out in black and white (all guests wear black and white - so go prepared) and the fireworks and show were amazing. The swimming pools are excellent for children one side is the deep pool and one side is shallow, no graduating depths, so your children are completely safe. The slide pool is excellent for the children (and adults). The facilities and amenities are fantastic.
