Breakfast was the only thing that let this hotel down, hard boiled eggs most days with exception to friday when it was omelettes.
pool area clean and plenty of sun beds and parasols.
pool bar and lunch food were good. entertainment in the evenings was quite good with belly dancing and break dancing, but not on long enough.
All in all great hotel and good holiday.

| said: Arrived in early hours of the morning and was pleased that the hotel still had someone to help us to our room. We had booked very last minute and so had to book two rooms instead of one large family room. We were very disappointed with the sizes of the rooms - especially when we had to have a 3rd bed put in one of them. The balconies were also incredibly small.
The air conditioning was a life-saver! It was reliable and made for a 'safe haven' for people like me who do not 'do' heat that well!
The cleanliness of the entire complex was 'par excellence'. We were told that towels were changed twice weekly but every day the rooms were cleaned and I'm sure the towels were changed as often as needed - we never seemed to use a dirty/wet towel, anyway.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful - the chambermaids, who work very hard in blistering heat, are absolute stars - a credit to the hotel. The dining and bar staff also work very long hours and still stay remarkably chipper and encourage guests to become involved in the entertainment. We noticed that there were no female waiting or bar staff - wonder if there's a reason for this?
My family visited the pools a number of times and had great fun - you can't trust the hotel staff not to push you in though, apparently! Good supply of loungers and parasols.
We stayed half-board but none of our party were impressed by the breakfast, unfortunately. There was a severe lack of choice if you didn't fancy processed meats and salad for breakfast. Most of us ended up with toast (very nice fresh bread)and melon for breakfast with the ocassional hard-boiled egg. I would like to have seen some fresh fruits (other than melon), yoghurts/toppings, croissants, etc.
Evening dinner was pretty good with some excellent mezzes. It was a buffet-style 'eat-as-much-as-you-like' affair. The mains were a bit 'canteen' - but simple, hearty food.
Great location - top of the main street. It's close enough to the beach and other facilities for convenience but far enough away to avoid late night entertainment disturbances, if that's what you need.
I would visit this hotel again if I was going as part of a couple or of we could get a significantly larger family room.

| said: Hotel clean and pleasant to the eye. Had good facilities with two pool areas - two bar areas and two sets of two pool tables which were free to use which was a pleasant suprise. Whilst there the bar manager allowed access to Sky sports for the Grand Prix and the cricket. The hotel ran a BBQ and disco which appeared well attended however the disco ended quite early. Our room in block 3 was quite gloomy and the "balcony" is indeed tiny. The beds were hard and squeaky and the shower cubicle in our room quite small. Like most places you had to get in early for hot water. Site security was good with a member of staff wandering about at all hours and there appeared only one way in and out too. Staff could have been more pleasant in our view however were quite polite and worked long hours to be fair. The management take a pride in setting things out properly and wouldnt tollerate their staff being sloppy. Ideal placement at the top of the main drag and as a result nice and quiet when you most want it to be.

The hotel is spotlessly clean , location is ideal at the top of the main strip & the staff are really friendly.
they have a fantastic photographer based at the hotel who takes some wonderfull photos , so make sure you do not miss him.
we always said we would never go back to the same place twice , but after changing that this year , we are already planning going to the hotel Karbel again next year for our 3rd visit.
we simply cannot get fed up of this wonderful hotel or resort.

| said: just back from this hotel and it was great. we went on B&B basis, but only managed breakfast 3 times. Choice limited to traditional turkish breakfast, melon, toast, scrambled egg, boiled egg or chips. Got a bit boring so we decided not to bother. Room was spotless clean, however out balcony had an infestation of ants. Balcony's are tiny, with two chairs and no table. I have visited many countries, and not experienced this size of balcony, ever!! Towels in rooms only got changed twice weekly, this really annoyed me, as you felt towels got really dirty easily. I notmally go to hotels who change them every two days. We asked the maid if we could get fresh towels as we had the towels 5th day running, and she demanded money to do this. Staff very friendly, except if you dont pay bills with the card they give you they go mad. We tried to use money, as we heard they fiddle your bill at end of holiday when you go to pay it. Photographer there seems very friendly, we booked him, but turned up on the night and he had double booked us. told us to come back in 30mins so we didnt bother, he seemed only interested in the money. hotel is 5 mins walk to bars restaurants, 15 min walk to beach which was ideal. eating out wise, the best restaurants to go to are buzz bar, Toscana, Sugar and spice. Buzz bar is the most sophisticated on the island, has a roof top bar for lovely cocktails. There is a bar called the corner bar that does two pints of Efes local beer for 4 lira which is about £2.Its just down from tower hotel. all other places charge £5 for two. two bacardi and cokes in bars will cost £10. this place is not cheap for alcohol!! the fake bags are rubbish, unless you want a really good copy, it will set you back £70-£100. Dont go to Fethiye for a day visit. its rubbish and nothing there. the market at hisaronu is good. We had a fantastic holiday, loved hotel, apart from minor points above, had a few hit or miss meals, which is why i would recommend the restaurants above.

| said: The hotel was lovely, wonderfully situated just at the top of the main street, ideal forshops and the beach a 5 minute walk away.
Facilities were ok,no laundering facilities at all but you could pay reception to do some ironing although expensive.
The pool and bar areas were the best aspect of this hotel, both clean with free table tenis and pool, around the lower pool were hammocks which were ideal for a bit of shade from the sun.
The actual rooms were not a lot to shout about, very basic and not really cleaned too well, the beds being very small and uncomfortable, very little hot water in the showers either.
The breakfast was as expected nice and fresh.
Most of the staff were very friendly especially in reception.
The entertainment as hit and miss nothing special. So all in all agood hotel with tiny things spoiling it.

We were then offered a room at the Karbel Beach which was very acceptable. we also learnt after a couple of days we weren't the only ones!Several other couples from all over the UK went through the same experience. The Karbel, Karbel Sun and Karbel Beach are lovely hotels,we have now stayed in all three. just beware of this room.

A problem a first we had the rooms too far away from each other but after speaking to reception it was sorted out very quickly. I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing base for the resort. Or teens were kept amused by Parker the bar manager showing them how to play pool properly the Turkish way I think!!We would have booked for next year but they are having improvements and building works so not sure if they would be ready to recieve guests. Cleanliness of the rooms were excellent & Breakfast was light and very refreshing after a good nights sleep. Snacks available throughout the day & Chip butties excellent!!!

| said: After reading all the reviews and picking up a bargain price of £72 for the week we could not fault the Karbel Hotel, the rooms are small but perfectly adequate for 2 people bit of a squeeze for 3 and were spotless. Shower was quite small, but hot water was available all day long and towels changed daily.
We stayed on B&B basis and was the usual turkish breakfast with a choice of scrambled eggs on Tuesday and omelettes Friday.
The Karbel is at the top of the main street a 5 minute walk to the beach. The hotel staff were friendly and there was the usual entertainment which we did not stay for so cannot comment if it was good or bad, We would most definitely stay here again.
You also have the choice of two swimming pools and we used the White House hotels pool which was quieter.
One point to mention if you like your tea in the morning take a travel kettle with you.
All in all great holiday for a bargain price.

| said: We have just returned from a one week stay at the Karbel Beach Hotel, which is the sister hotel to the Karbel. This hotel was very quiet, relaxed and low key.
We stayed on a B&B basis but only managed to get to breakfast on 3 occassions, it was traditional Turkish brekkie of bread, cheese, cold meat, eggs, honey, cereal. It was nice and well presented but got a little boring. If you wish you can pay 10tl for an English, but we went into the town for that.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are lovely, pillows abit dodgy though, quite hard. There is a daily maid service, she makes up the beds and replaces towels althought to the end of the week, they seemed abit dirty and often found them draped over the balacony, think she took them off the floor and dried them out instead of replacing with fresh. Don't let this put you off though. Pack a spare towel just in case.
Rooms have ample storage and space. Also have a tv and fridge.
Take plenty of mozzie repelent and take the strong DEET based stuff, I took a mild one and it was pretty useless against them. One evening there was a guy spraying the hotel with repelant as it was so bad. The rooms are fully air conditioned so keep doors and windows closed and your room should stay mozzie free.
The pool is a decent size and the beds, chairs, tables, water etc etc are all spotlessly clean and maintained.
The hotel is within a 2 minute walk to the main strip, cross over cut through the little silver market and you're there, we realised this after 2 days of going the long way around.
Staff are all so kind and friendly, love to chat and help you out in any way they can, which is the Turkish way.
As the hotel was so small there was only one nights entertainment and this was a turkish BBQ with a belly dancer unfortunately we missed this but the other guests were raving about it.
I would definately stay at this hotel but would book direct in future, as I heard alot of poor reviews about Goldtrail which made me uneasy about our booking. But thankfully we were lucky and had no problems.

| said: Our board basis at the hotel was bed and breakfast, however i must say i regret making that decision as the food was very limited and wasnt that nice. Mostly melon and olives. Fair enough you come to turkey to eat turkish food however this was about all the hotel had to offer for breakfast apart from a bit of bread or some cornflakes if you were lucky. Nothing to suit younger children or babys was available.
The hotel cleanliness was fantastic. I would say you could eat from the floor it was so good. The maids came round and cleaned the rooms every single day. The hotle and the pool area were always kept tidy. Possibly the most clean place i have ever been to.
The location of the hotel is debatable because it depends what you are looking for. I would say its fairly quiet, howvere the night life is there if you need it. Plkenty of bars and restaurants ranging from tipical english food to all different kinds. I would say there was to much english quizine though. Shops, bars and restaurats were only about a minute from our hotel. I would definitly say this would be the bvest choice of holiday for familys with different needs and a wide age range becayse it can offer something for evryone. Youngsters can go clubbing whilst older people can chill and have a drink. Very good.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helful. Always happy to lend a hand. As soon as we arrived at the hotel the staff couldnt wait to assist us with our luggage and show us to out rooms. The bus boy showed us all of our appliances and how to work them. Throughout the holiday you will get to know the staff and the will get to know you. Its a very relaxed atmosphere!
The entertainment was so so, certainly not fot the younger generation more for adults with young children. I wouldnt say it looked like people who did attend to see it really liked it that much anyway. They offer magic shows and dancing. Not really alot of varietie!
I would love to visit this hotel again!!!

| said: Just got back from our first visit to Turkey and to the hotel Karbel. This definitely won't be the last, we enjoyed the hotel (especially as you can now use the white hotels lovely pool and snack bar as part of the karbel).
Staff there were friendly & helpful especially Eric and Tugart the bar staff who where always willing to give any useful advice.
The hotels location is at the top of the resorts main strip, which is a half mile walk down to the beach with bars resteraunts, jewellers and other bargain stores on either side as you go down.
Hotel was spotlessly clean and maids came in every day.
entertainment was short but good standard.
1 gripe and the only gripe 1 could say against the rooms, was the shower was very small and you may struggle if you are of a large build to manouver around.
All in all we would not hesitate in recommending this hotel and are already planning to return next year, something that we said we would never do on previous holidays.

As soon as we arrived we were greated by friendly helpfull staff and this carried on throughout our stay.
The room was clean and tidy and the maid visited daily.
The pool area was pleasantly spacious with an open plan poolside bar.Everything is paid for via a card system and you just pay on departure or at the end of the day, its up to you.
We had half board and found the food on offer was good
Even our 10 year old found something she liked each night.Never been known before! We would have liked a little more fruit but thats just a personal oppinion.
Olu Deniz is a beautiful resort surrounded by mountains and a reel sun trap.
Well done Hotel Karbel a credit to Turkey.

| said: Our first visit to Turkey, and most definitely not our last!
Dalaman airport! When we arrived, we knew from reading the Turkey forum about needing to go with £10 per person to get our visa, however there were many people who joined the queues for the passport control only to be told they needed to go to the Visa place first, so always head there with your £10 before headnig into the passport queues. We walked through to collect our bags, trolleys are available for 2 YTL or £1.00 which although its not far to the coach areas, when you are on your own with lots of bags and a child in tow was a £1 well spent. Bags cleared quickly. There are snack bars where you can purchase water etc for your onward journey, but recommend that you get it from the plane as prices were extremely high (as they are on departure!) although the coach drivers also often carry bottled water and sell it on route to resort. Be aware that they would only accept Turkish Lira and not sterling and would send people over to the exchange place, well worth taking a small amount of lira with you if you think you are likely to purchase from the airport. But we cleared the airport very quickly, and although it was a bit difficult trying to spot the reps outside of the doors, with lots of arrivals and coaches all waiting to depart, we left the airport pretty quickly.
On arrival at Dalaman, the transfer took just over 1 ½ hours with several drop offs, as we approached the resort, we were met by a cloud of dust as the main road down into Olu was being widened. This however was completed during our stay which was a relief for those staying in hotels close to the road, but it certainly made for an improved entrance and exit down the hill into the resort itself. Anything to make the arrival into this beautiful resort is a bonus! How they managed when the road was much narrower goodness knows! As you arrive, you have a beautiful view of the mountains, the sea and the resort, it is a rather compact resort because of the mountains either side, but this view, especially if the sun is shining (which it sadly wasn’t when we arrived) is beautiful!
After our drop offs we arrived at our hotel, the Karbel. What a wonderful place to stay! In an excellent location, with the beach, restaurants and bars all in such an easy walking distance. The Karbel hotel has in fact now purchased the White Hotel, which is at the bottom of the Karbel complex, and although you can still book the White Hotel in its own right the Karbel have built a new block and you now have access to the second pool and its pool bar area. This means that there are extra facilities and an extra pool which are not detailed in the brochures. But all of the blocks look pretty similar and are all cleaned and kept to the same high standards. The cleanliness of the hotel was clear from the moment we arrived into the open reception/bar area.
We were greeted by many staff who carried the bags from the coach up to the open reception area, everything here was extremely clean and the staff were very quick and prompt at check in. We only had to wait a few minutes until someone came to carry our bags down to our room. (don’t forget your change to tip!)
Our room which was a twin, was actually in one of the White Hotel’s blocks, it was pretty small but ok for 2 people. This was however found to be what Thomson had described as a family room to sleep 2/3, but it would have been a very tight squeeze had there been a need for an additional bed! It had a small balcony which overlooked the large pool (block 5b), with twin beds, one wardrobe space (which was a bit tight for all of the clothes) as there were only a little drawer in the bedside cabinet and in the dressing table. Someone in one of the other reviews has said that there are no pool views, but with the Karbel now having the White Hotel, its rooms and its pools, this is no longer the case. Our room looked right over the pool, although people on the sun loungers are very close to the balcony, because this is kept as a quiet pool, noise was not a problem. There is a road however the other side of it, and you do get some road noise which can start quite early, but its nothing to worry about, just close the windows (all of which have mesh over) and turn on the free air conditioning! What a bonus!!!
Room also included a small fridge and good air conditioning, both of which are free. Safety deposit boxes are available for £1 a day, some are actually within the rooms, although some are in the area behind the reception depending on what block you are staying in. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms very clean, some of the nicest we have experienced. Rooms were cleaned daily, with towels and linen changed once a week. We actually found that we had been allocated the wrong size room according to our booking with Thomson, speaking to our rep, she immediately raised this with reception and we were offered another room to move to. Although the one we had booked wasn’t available, we were moved into block 1, and given a suite. This room was superb! It would have cost an additional £15 a night to upgrade, which would definitely have been worth it. It had a super sized bed, with enough space to fit in several more, a large bathroom with a large jacuzzi bath which would hold 3 people and a further sofa which could also be used as a bed. Wardrobe space in this room was excellent, with 2 further dressing tables and 2 bedside cabinets all of which had drawer space. Bathroom also had stand in shower, but the jacuzzi bath was fabulous!!!!
Be aware though that often early in the morning the water temperature in resort isn’t as constant as it is later in the day or early evening, this is because the water is heated through solar panels and causes the changes in temperature. Some people in other hotels said because of this, they struggled to get constant or any supply of a decent hot water, but this wasn’t a problem at the Karbel. Towels are provided, but they are not allowed to be used by the pool. Each room does come with a hairdryer which was actually quite good compared to some we have used abroad, and the suite room we had was set back away from the roads so was very quiet compared to the first one in block 5 although the view was not as nice, it was a lot cooler! There is also a TV in the room, although we only switched ours on to see what channels there were.
You are given a credit card for purchasing drinks, snacks etc, and the cost of the safety deposit box is also added to this bill, whenever you “buy” anything within the complex, you sign the receipt to say you have received it and then you can pay for this at reception whenever you wish, we chose to settle at the end of the first week, but then again at the end. It means that you do not need to have cash out with you by the pool which is very handy! But prices within the hotel are reasonable, we booked b&b but you can purchase tickets for evening meals if you wish, if you do this and buy 3 evening meals (noting kids under a certain age eat free!) you actually got a meal free. Evening meal per person while we were there was charged at 25 YTL (approx £8.50) but you could eat as much as you wanted. The buffet food was excellent, the choice varied and everything very nice and tasty! There was however a limited choice for children, although you could purchase something from their a la carte menu at an extra cost. Childrens meals were priced on this around the 6 YTL mark (approx £2.50). Breakfast was also served buffet style, and there was plenty of fresh crusty bread to toast, boiled eggs, yoghurts, cheeses and meats, you could also if you wished purchase extras such as omelettes and full English if you wished, but there was also plenty of juice and tea and coffee. There was however, very little fresh fruit available which was a shame as it would have been nice. You could at breakfast also purchase freshly squeezed orange juice. On a couple of days the hotel provided free complimentary scrambled eggs or on one day omelettes which you could choose your filling and have it cooked in front of you, these were excellent and very tasty! All of the restaurant staff were very friendly, and looked after everyone so well. The restaurant is on the raised part of the hotel, you can choose to sit outside or under cover, but the view is stunning, and you can sit and watch the sun come up over the mountain along with the early morning paragliders, while looking out down to the sea in the distance.
The location of the Karbel is excellent, with stunning views and scenery, its surrounding gardens are all well kept and tended, and all extremely clean. There are now 2 swimming pool areas, the one you see within the brochure which is split into 3 separate areas, all at different depths, there is also a small childrens pool for little ones to paddle in, this is separated from the main pool and is quite safe, plenty of sun beds around the pool all of which allowed you to keep an eye on the kids. There was also a supply of lilos and pool toys which people leave so you don’t need to take your own, although they are very cheap to purchase in resort anyway (from about £2). The other pool which is actually the White Hotels pool, is a large kidney shaped pool and does also have a small childrens pool beside it, this is actually described by them as a “quiet pool” so if you like a quieter lounge by the pool, without the afternoon game of water polo and lots of kids, then this is the one for you. It does have its own pool bar too.
The pool bar serves drinks and snacks too, all of which were excellent. And the chips at the hotel are beautiful! You are not allowed to bring your own food and drink to the pool or hotel areas, even though the Karbel has its own supermarket, but prices are on par with other restaurants and things anyway, soft drinks were a little higher in price however. The pool bar also has a happy hour, with local drinks being served at half price between 630 and 730pm.
The Karbel is a wonderful hotel, its location has to be one of the best things about it, close to the main street which leads to the beach, within easy reach of the many bars, shops and restaurants all of which are close by. Some excellent restaurants including Captain Hooks (excellent!!!!), Honey Moon (at the bottom of the street) along with many more. We did not have a bad meal in all of our 10 nights in Turkey! Food is excellent value, lots of choice, and everywhere does childrens meals, so there is always something to suit even the fussiest of eaters! The hotel is only a 10 minute walk or so to the beach, however, when you get talking to the locals on the way down, and after they had played football with my son, this walk often turned into an hour! The locals are the most friendly people I have ever met, and it made for a pleasant walk in both daytime and evening, especially travelling as a single parent! I have never felt so comfortable or so at ease as what I did in this resort! The main beach is sand and shingle, but quite big stones going into the sea, you can purchase plastic and beach shoes in resort from about £3, these are really needed tho!
The hotel is very clean, you cannot fault it for anything at all. They do have evening entertainment although we only stayed at the hotel for the BBQ night which is on a Wednesday, the food at this is excellent, with a cold starter buffet, followed by BBQ and sweets, followed by a bellydancer and entertainment. We didn’t stay at the hotel for any of the other evening entertainment as we like to go out and about, eat a leisurely dinner and head to the beach café to sit and watch the sunset lounging on a bean bag on the beach with a cocktail! But what entertainment we did experience was good.
You can change money at the hotel commission free, although the rate was slightly lower than what you could get down the road, there are plenty of places to change up money however, so it depends what you want to do. You are able to settle your “credit card” bill with credit card or in Turkish Lira. We were recommended to take a mixture of Lira and Sterling which we did, however during our stay, we found that mostly in the resort that Lira was used more so than anything else, there are plenty of cash points to get money from. There is a taxi rank just outside of the hotel too if you wished to use them, or a short stroll over to the main road to pick up the Dolmus (we used neither during our stay).
You can book trips through your rep, however these are a lot more expensive than what you can buy down in the resort. If you are looking for a reliable but excellent agent, walk down the main street to the bottom towards the beach and visit the people at Lagoon Travel (just past infinity jewellers!) on the right hand side, they will look after you! Although there are many, prices are all comparable but there is an excellent choice, with some places offering you free Market trip if you book 2 others!
All in all, I cannot recommend the Karbel enough, or the whole resort of Olu! We have only been back 3 days and are already at looking to return in 6 weeks time. You can book direct at this hotel also, with prices around the £25 per night mark, every penny would be worth it, because there is nothing you can fault about this place at all. What a wonderful holiday, what a wonderful first experience of Turkey!

Great fun when they get dancing on the stage and strip off, they soon get to know you and remember your name. It was very clean the maids came in to clean everyday. The snacks around the pool during the day were nice too.

Beach excellent, bit disappointed with Blue Lagoon (the paying section) very pebbly, however Sugar Beach around the other side is a lovely sandy bay with sunbeds, beanbags, cafe/bar a must for anyone staying in Olu Deniz.
Hotel complex was in an ideal position, not too far from beach and Room was very spacious and slotted in between two blocks so no one above us, had a lovely little terrace with two chairs and rail to hang our towels on. Spotlessly cleaned every day by our lovely maid. A nice surprise was the extra pool which used to be the White Hotel, a bit quieter than the main pool, no music being played.
We ate at the hotel 5 times in the two weeks, definately recommend the BBQ on Weds followed by the belly dancer (fun night). A la carte and buffet both lovely. Plenty of choice on the continental breakfast.
Our favourite restaurant was The Secret Garden be warned get there early, they actually turned people away as they were too busy.
A big thank you must be said to Fred, the lovely photographer at the hotel, although I think his brother Omar was back and Fred was moving on. Had some lovely photos as a reminder of our fantastic holiday. Will definately be back.

| said: Stayed in Karbel Hotel after reading reviews. This a great hotel although we were B&B we did eat in hotel, both the buffet & A la carte and enjoyed all the meals we had.
The Hotel & rooms are spotless and although some reviews said the rooms were small, ours was fine. The free air-con and the fridge were definite plus points.
The staff are all very friendly and can't do enough for you, we can't praise them enough! The lady who cleaned our room decorated the beds with flowers a couple of times,it was lovely to come back to our room to find it looking so beautiful.(Thanks again Gunay,(hope I spelled your name correctly!)).
As for entertainment, we only stayed in for the belly dancers/Turkish nights so can't really give a 5! but both nights we did stay in were really good.
We just like to visit other restaurants & bars, hence staying B&B. We would come back to the Karbel in a heartbeat, in fact we are hoping to go back in September! Can't wait!
Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable, you are all brilliant!

| said: This was our first time to Turkey.
We wanted something in a good location which was clean, this is what we got! (Mainly as we chose the hotel on the basis of the reviews so expected what we had read! Thanks review people!)
We were impressed with the hotel and staff as they were very helpful. Everywhere was very clean and looked after and they did this well and were cheerful, polite and pleasant.
We never chose to eat at the hotel for dinner as we did not fancy the buffet on offer but it did look nice and they did put on BBQ night and Turkish night. (We did our own thing and did not participate with the hotel entertainment as dinner at 7.30 was too early for us; we were normally still drinking our happy hour beer in our swimming gear while everybody else was ready for dinner!)
Breakfast was pretty good with lots of choice. We opted to stay healthy with melon, cheeses, yogurt and honey, toast, egg etc but there were lots of options and other things you could order as an extra like the typical English breakfast or freshly squeezed orange juice or omelette. My only bleat would be that instead of 2 cornflake dispensers, perhaps one could be muesli or something different instead?
Snacks around the pool were very nice. Arrived very quickly and nicely done, tasty and the price was similar to anything else in Olu Deniz (so they did not overcharge just coz hotel)
The hotel room was clean and the maid did a good job by keeping it tidy and making the bed. (They have these funny thin blanket things instead of sheets and as we had a double bed the blanket was too small for both of us so I requested a second one from reception and it arrived before I blinked!) I was very fond of my ‘blankie’ by the time I left! The maid used to make patterns out of them every day.
Had a proper shower cubical which made a change and as I don’t like baths I liked it! It did leak in one corner onto the mat if the doors were not in an exact position but was much better than the normal holiday bathroom shower curtain leakage!
We are both quite small and slim and still came out of the bathroom laughing that we had a tap in our bottom during our shower. All the balconies in the resort are quite small (probably the style in Turkey) but it was fine to dry bikini and towels (as I brought my 99p Superdrug elastic washing line) and we could sit on the balcony chairs looking at the nice green and flowers. Fridge and tv in room and also air con (all for no extra charge which is good.)
I thought the hotel credit card system was a good idea. We were going to pay it off every few days (from the recommendation on other peoples comments on this site) but we kept checking the balance from the second week as we were changing up English money at the post office as our spends for day to day stuff and dinners so decided to do it at the end in one hit. (was not sure if to do it by credit card/debt card or cash etc) At one point thought we might have spent quite a lot but by the end of our two weeks (day 14 ) the total was approx £120 which was not bad for day time Magnams, crisps, the odd milkshake, coffees and teas, bottles of water (and of course apple tea!) and lunches for about half the holiday plus a few beers during happy hour each night and a bedtime drink. Things like Cokes I thought were quite expensive as they were out of the dispenser (not a bottle or can) and cost more than a large beer. (Go to the Karbel Supermarket and get some cans to put in the fridge in your room.) We paid with cash so used the HSBC machine not far from the taxi rank on the front.
Got a good exchange rate and they charged £2.00 for the transaction but we didn’t mind as this was the only cash we took out and had not actually spent as much as expected while there.
It was lovely eating breakfast with the lovely view. Very stunning location and considering the bars and restaurants are not that far to walk away it was very quiet. The setting of the hotel is very pretty as the gardens are so looked after and there are no rooms with a pool view.
It was a good hotel to serve us as a little home for 2 weeks that was not overpriced for the actual holiday, prices inside the hotel that were about the same as the rest of the resort and it was clean and friendly with enough chairs/sun beds and enjoyable.

The bedrooms and shower cubicles are quite small but for the length of time you spend in them it really isn't a problem.
The staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them even though it was getting towards the end of the season.
We only booked bed and breakfast but did stay for the Turkish evening which only cost £10 each for an authentic Turkish 3 course meal with superb entertainment by folk dancers and a male belly dancer who had to be double jointed.

The rooms are quite small but really clean, maids really friendly.
The location of the hotel was really good, shops just around the corner, the beach was a little walk down the street.
Hotel staff were excellent especially Eric, Yakup, as so on. Kids loved them, so friendly. Entertainment was good most nights, especially the circus. There wasnt much to do in the nights for the children. So as a family I wouldn't go back to the hotel with the kids, but we would definitely go back if we went on our own.
The photographer Omar takes lovely pictures which we spent quite a lot of money on, because he took some fab pictures of the wedding & kids.. thank-you Kath.

| said: Very nice hotel to stay at in the lovely resort of olu deniz.
The cleaners did a splendid job of keeping the rooms as clean as possible. (With the good idea of shower mats to try and prevent accidents with the turkish style showers.) There was also a fridge, tv and hairdryer in the room.
The food was absolutely fine-unless you are a picky eater-like my partner-and even he could manage!!!Just means that some days you may want to go out and pay extra for a different type of meal, i.e. chinese, english etc.
The location is perfect-not too far away from anything in the resort-but at the edge-so in a peaceful location for lying on your sunbed in the day.
The staff were very helpful and would go out of their way to help you. Even came round during the day-whilst you was laid on your sunbed. Now that does make us holidaymakers lazy!!!
Entertainment was o.k, some nights were better then others. And others like bingo night, a bit cheesy, but a little bit of cheese isnt harmful i guess!!!
I would never before have gone to the same hotel again or the same resort, but this holiday changed my mind. Would go again tomorrow.

We did not stay for an evening meal in the hotel, however there were good reports. The card system for drinks and meals is great, you do get a bit paranoid about it, but once you are used to it, you wonder why all hotels don't do this.
Cleanliness is something we are "picky" about yet this hotel was fantastic, maid service every day, no bugs or creepy crawlies, great.
The location again was great, at the top of the main street with all the bars, shops, restaurants etc. The perfect distance away for peace and quiet, yet everything was also close to hand, the beach is a nice stroll away.
The staff as others have said before are very friendly, once they know your face and name, you become good friends, a thank you in turkish is something they really appreciate.
I would come back to this hotel.
Entertainment was as you might expect, a variety of english games (qyuizzes etc) and some turkish nights, all very informal and enjoyable.

The hotel is very well looked after and all the staff are very very friendly and they are always on hand to help should you have a problem. The rooms were spotless and the gardens very well maintained. The pool area was very very clean and we never had a probelm getting a sun bed there were plenty to go around. We were there for the first 2 england games and all the staff wore some kind of england top on the day. The hotel photographer was great as well, we don't like having our photo's taken but he did a really good job and we came home with loads of photos.
The food was always very hot - you don't seem to get this abroad normally. There was the usual selection at breakfast, the evening meals were very tasty and I am a fussy eater but never found the food a problem.

Rooms cleaned daily, air-con & fridge much appreciated! Food was surprisingly good. We got half board for the price of B&B when we booked so didn't expect much. However, food really was good so didn't venture out to other restaurants much at all. (Even had lunch around the pool most days too)! The position of this hotel is great: 5 mins from the beach, with restaurants & shops literally on the doorstep (not noisy at all though).
There was entertainment around the pool most evenings, ie. bingo, karaoke. Cocktail night once a week & great BBQ night with Belly Dancer and Turkish Evening too. No daytime entertainment programme, but that suited us fine. Kids happy around the pool.
Within a week of being back home we had booked to return, so what does that tell you? (We had originally planned to return to Florida in 2007, but the kids all voted for Turkey instead). Same time, same place - which is something we have never done before).

We watched several couples getting married from the hotel and decided after many years of trying to find a perfect location, this was the one.
We will be travelling back this September to get married by the waters of the Blue Lagoon with family and friends in tow.
We went on on several trips all were fantstic and also included lunch.
Would recommend the parachuting off Mount Babadag, views over mountains and sea are awesome. Just check on the insurance for piece of mind. We used sky sports through first choice. We even got our decent on dvd for friends to see back home.

For an old "Turkey hand" I already know how cheerful, friendly and hospitable they can be, but from the manager thru to the cleaners I was taken aback by how
natural they were, they really do help to make a good holiday - great.
Even a special mention to our our First Choice rep, Wendy, professional but natural, friendly without being obtrusive, all you could ask for. We had no problems but her presence alone was reassuring.
The accommodation was exactly as described, no complaints there. The food, again as described, but there was more than plenty of it.
Overall exactly the holiday we paid for, total value for money and thats all we asked for.

| said: My friend and I have just returned from a week at Hotel Bronze in Olu Deniz.
The hotel itself was small with only 23 rooms. The grounds were fab and the pool very clean and quiet.
The rooms were small but the air conditioning made a difference. We were promised 24 hour hot water but we didn't have hot water for the full week. However having said that it is very hot in Turkey therefore the a cold shower was bareable. There was also a television which shows BBC Prime and other Turkish programmes. The balcony was tiny but there was enough room to put two chair out there.
The rooms and all the hotel areas and gardens were cleaned daily and the standard was excelllent.
The hotel also has an outside bar, which is great for snacks, drinks, icecream etc.
The sunbeds and parasols were free and the sunbeds were very comfy with padding on them! The pool was great especially in the heat and again no complaints it was filtered every evening and kept clean to a very high standard.
The staff are very helpful and friendly and we both had a relaxing stay.
The hotel was very central, 5 minutes to the beach, 5 mins to the bars and shops. You don't need to get taxi's everything is within walking distance.

It was brilliant to see everyone again Ersoy (Todd), Sabri(Romeo), Zeki, Eric and Ozzy even though you weren't actually working at the hotel this year!!! It was also good to see new friendly faces especially Davut!
The restaurant staff were always smiling and joking in the mornings after their late nights out at Crusoes (Sleeze thanks for the hairclip which you got from another girl)!
The staff are very friendly and are always getting involved especially with the dancing, and full monty (I like to move it move it!) we loved dancing on the bar!
Adem you were brill at karaoke singing I'm too sexy, "I shake my lil tush on the catwalk"!
The rooms are always clean thanks to the brilliant cleaners, and the air conditioning is a big bonus, you may find yourself waking up cold in the mornings!
The morning aerobics is a must the man basically makes it up on the spot! We found there was always enough room in the pool despite what other people have said. There has been much improvment to the hotel this year with teles in all rooms vh1 on when your getting ready to go out all they played was jem-they!
The hotel grounds are very pleasent, and we feel for the garderner who stands there all day with his hose, your doing an excellent job, keep it up!
BBQ night is excellent fun, but the belly dancing is a lil scary and you gotta make a run for it when she comes to get you! Don't worry if you miss out on the fire and glass show, he spends most the night giving you samples of glass, instead of doing stunts with it!
So hopefully see you all next year! love Sian and Rach xxxxxx

| said: This Hotel in my opinion was fantastic in every sense.
My family and I were Turkey virgins and had no idea what to expect. We were met at 6am by a cheerful receptionist and porter who took our bags to our room and showed us round. Rest assured all our apprehensions were laid to rest on arrival.
The rooms are small but are more than adequate for what you need. The room was spotless and smelt fresh and clean. Sheets and towels were pristine. We had a fridge in the room, free air conditioning (god did we need it) and a television. good wardrobe and drawer space. Bathroom was a shower, toilet and sink. We asked for a room in a quiet area in the new block which we got and totally met our needs.
Breakfast consisted of Turkish style buffet including a choice of cereals, fruit, meats, cheeses, eggs and Turkish cakes. Plenty of choice for fussy eaters. The dining area was also spotless and the dining staff can't do enough for you.
Dinner was buffet style again but on a much grander scale offering a very wide choice of international dishes. But more Turkish main courses would have been nicer.
The Hotel operate a credit card system to pay for lunch, ice-creams and drinks, which is good from the point of view that you don't have to carry large sums of money around with you. Word of advice though, settle your tab every other day to avoid a shock bill.
Safety deposit boxes are behind reception and cost £14 for 2 weeks.
As we had a night flight, we arranged a late check out room with Martin on reception (cheers for that). Normal checkout time was 12.00 noon but we had our room until 20.00 for an extra £15. Well worth it if you have kids.
Hotel is located at the top of the main drag and is a 10 minute stroll to the beach front. The Karbel supermarket is below the hotel and is really good value. Watch out for the two guys who run it, my son loved them (they always gave him free sweets).
The Staff at the Hotel are very professional and are genuinely interested in you and what you think of their hotel. Always asking if you are happy with the service, can the do anything for you. Bar staff are also great. The overall impression of the hotel is one of cleanliness. The grounds are beautifully kept by the hardworking gardiner, pool area spotless also.
Should you want too, there is also a beauty parlour and masseur on site from 10.00-20.00.
We were very sad to leave the Karbel as our stay was magical and won't be forgotten in a hurry. The friendliness and hospitality of the Turkish people was genuine and second to none.
I thoroughly recommend this hotel and am booking for next year.
A final mention to our First Choice rep Wendy.

The food was lovely, with Sunday lunch on a Sunday and plenty of choice for fussy eaters. The staff were also very friendly, always willing to greet and attend to your every need.
There was some sort of entertainment every night but mondays as that was the busiest night for new guests arriving, alot of the shows were entertaining, but a few were a bit boring, especially for children.
I would definitely reccomend this hotel and would definitely revisit!

Didn't bother with dinner as much less expensive at asena beach hotel - a 4 star that I stayed in last year. Avoided drinks in both places pricey.
Booked tours -not with reps. Excellent worth doing with booked with seaside tours great - remember to barter.
Avoid horse riding ,quad bikes and cafes that don't display prices especially beach cafes at Gemila beach.
Another point... at the hotel when I checked out I was asked for 20 lira about £10 to us but like twenty for the turkish when I asked for a bill they offered to write out a bill then I was asked to return in half an hour when printer was working.
I did return.... I got my 20 lira back... could have been a genuine mistake but I say be careful ... ask for a bill.

This hotel is in a good location, was superbly clean, and has helpful and friendly staff.
We were allocated a room in one of the new blocks which the Karbal has rented from the neighbouring hotel. The room though fitted with air con, small fridge and 14" TV (All Free) was basic.
The Turkish Breakfast was what you made of it, the food offered was wholesome varied and plentiful. I heard people complaining that they could not get bacon and egg without paying extra, though our First Choice brochure stated plainly that the breakfast provided would be Turkish.
Bad Points.
This Hotel now has 159 rooms,(360 Beds minimum) and while the dining area has been enlarged and refurbished, we frequently struggled to get a table for breakfast.
The pool area has been on the agenda for improvement since 2003 and has not yet been done, and is not large enough for the amount of guests who stay at busy periods, we struggled to get sunbeds. (If you put towels on, the hotel staff removed them while you had breakfast)and as with a previous report we had issues with the large amount of lilo beds etc allowed in the pool.

The cleanliness is second to none, with the maids arranging your new sheets into lovely decorative patterns, sometimes covered with flowers.
The location is ideal, just off the main road, which is pedestrianised anyway, 5-10 min walk from the main beach. This beach is shingle, and gets deep quickly.
Some of the beaches in and around the Blue Lagoon, i.e. Bob's Beach or Billy's Beach are sandy, and shallow, better for children.
The hotel staff are superb, Adem, Ramazan, Bekir, etc are some of the friendliest people you could wish to meet, and always coming over for a chat to make sure you are enjoying your holiday, and to find out if there is anything they can do.
The entertainment is not the best I have ever seen, but it is still pretty good. Highlight was the Bar-B-Q that they put on, with all the staff in traditional costume.
The rooms themselves are not the biggest I have stayed in, but to be honest you only use your room for sleeping in, and having a shower before getting changed. They are beautifully laid out, with balconies covered in purple flowers, or like ours grapes!
I would not hesitate to go back to this hotel time and time again. Fabulous!

| said: This was our second trip to the Karbel, we stayed here last year same two weeks. This year it was far busier.
They have made a great improvement to the restaurant area, new bar and extended rest / relaxing areas. The food and service was once again marvelous, great credit to Adem, restaurant manager and all his staff were brilliant, Mustafa, Bekir and Ramazan were very friendly, always had a pleasant greeting for you at every meal. The food was realy five star, put on several pounds in two weeks! All the bar staff were very helpful and friendly, Zeki bar manager has an excellent team working with him.
Hotel entertaiment was very good and varied, bingo with Ferde was great fun and the pool competitions were very entertaining. There is lots to do for the children, although there is no kids club, my son made lots of friends and had a great time, thank you all who made friends with James.
The pool is to be enlarged next year, this should help with the increase in holiday makers due to the addition of two new blocks of rooms this year. The only downside to the hotel was the amount of large lilos that cluttered the pool and some adults who insisted in throwing each other in the pool all day, the management said that these points were to be addressed.
Overall a smashing hotel, very very friendly, see you again, many thanks to all the lovely people that we met, many who have returned from last year including, Phil and Sheila, Jim and Isobel, and Rachel and Michael, James would like to say thank you to Carly, Emma and Daniel.

We got married here on the 11th June 2005 and it was wonderful. We married on the beach in the evening and had a reception at the Karbel.
The food was good the staff very friendly and they made our wedding that much more special for us. This year we travelled with friends, who had not been to Turkey before. They loved the hotel, location and of course the cheap and tasty food. They are returning next year, as they loved it so much.
This hotel is one of the best in this area, and you cannot complain about anything there. The staff are brilliant and the place is spotless.
Thank you again to all the staff who made our wedding day so special. And thank you to the cleaners who are something special to this hotel.

The breakfast was excellent with cheese, meat, olives, hard boiled eggs, toast, tea, coffee, juice, and cakes.
The staff asked us every day if we were ok and the hotel was to our satisfaction.
The pool was great with room for everyone.
The only thing we weren’t keen on was that you were given a card for the bar and couldn’t use cash so we did not use the hotel bar often as we were unsure of what we were spending. The times we did use it we paid it of at reception the next day.

| said: Karbel hotel was very clean, tidy & comfortable hotel, we all felt totally at ease withing the grounds. We were a large pary of 15 staying at Karbel for a wedding & they made us all feel very welcome all the staff are friendly and very helpful.
When you arrive you get given a card as they don't really take money at the bar you just charge it to your room. It is a good idea but can work out costing a lot if you don't pay it off at regular intervals!
If you stay at the hotel on B&B basis I would recommend you take advantage of the 4 for 3 meal ticket offer (20ytl) for evening meals and if you have children under 6 years old they eat free anyway so its a bargain!
They have entertainment on every other night by the pool bar ranging from belly dancing to break dancing! A must do at the hotel is the belly dancing & BBQ night on Wednesdays with lots of food to choose from, not a lot of choice for picky kids though it is excellent value for money (20ytl).
The rooms are very nice but basic, they do have a fridge, air conditioning & satellite TV if you must stay in at night.

About 3 mins from beach and 1 min from local shops but dolmus at the top of the road took you further afield.
Hotel and pool were very clean. All staff very friendly and helpful.
Would definitely return to this wonderful hotel!
Limited entertainment but the BBQ, belly dancers and the bingo was great. Think the staff at the bar were entertainment in themselves.
