we have just got back from staying on an all-inclusive basis at the voronova. our room was quite nice on the first floor with beds and sheets changed every day. apparently we were lucky to have this. thats the good stuff out of the way. the hotel was dirty and in need of a good clean. the waiter told us that only 200 guests were in the hotel as to 900 last year so it is probably lack of cash, but if they dont clean up no-one will go back. the pool was filthy which had two ducks living in it. the all inclusive bar is only open certain times of the day. the waiter serves you very slowly on perpose and if some-one comes along with money they take priority even if there is a queue. the food was hot but not a lot of choice. the hotel had many disabled guests in wheelchairs which is fine but i did not expect a male carer to escort a female disabled person into the female toilets even though there were plenty of female carers also a disabled seperate toilet near by. there was a disco on in the evening which mainly the disabled enjoyed.

Stayed in the Voronova Hotel for a cheap winter AI weekend. Our room in the refurbished wing was spacious & clean with a big balcony & brand new bathroom. Except for b'fast which was OK, the food was really grim - except for the chips - with little choice, the worst AI we've ever had. Most of the guests in Jan were elderly Germans & there was no evening entertainment. The indoor pool we were looking forward to was well & truly out of action and the shop was closed. .

We stayed at the Voranova Hotel between 26th to 31st Dec 2008. We went all inclusive "light". The hotel was very clean and a good location for the resort centre and the beach , the maids and the reception staff were friendly, the bar and resteraunt staff were miserable as sin! The Food was absolutely awful! never had as bad in a hotel, i would have put zero if it was allowed! there wasnt any entertainment to speak of but we hadnt intended to stay in hotel anyway at night. one further point, the outdoor pool was advertised as heated, it wasn't. nice hotel if self catering anything else i wouldnt bother!

me and my husband stayed here for xmas 24-31 december 2008 ,on a all inclusive basis .xmas dinner was a joke,it was discusting,we have never had anything like it before, as we paid for a gala dinner .food was very basic ,not enough verity, and never enough ,but if you liked chips you would be ok.as you got chips every day.and when the dinner hall was open the bar was closed, the one bar man was a sour face never smiled,no entertainment at all.in door pool was abreeding ground for god nows what.the grounds were very dirty around the out door pool.half of the hotel was falling down around you as the plaster kept falling off the walls as you tried to shut any of the doors,it was very damp in places.this hotel needs to be bulldozed down.would not recomend it to steptoe and son ,its more like a w,m,c,a,..we would never ever stay there again, but could not fault the resort ,as stayed there many times before ,but not at that so called hotel.this is a genuine warning

we went to majorca for a break before xmas and got voranova for a good price.
we found the hotel very nice with a clean room serviced by friendly maids.
it was quiet and tranquil but on the weekend all hell broke loose when it filled with spaish people as it was a fiesta over there.never go during a fiesta as the noise is horrendous and the children totally unruly and not corrected by any adults.
apart from this we had a lovely week and the food was reasonable and plentiful especially considering that we paid so cheap.
we would recommend karens bar around the corner for drinks and snacks as it is english owned and like a traditional english pub.
would go there again but not during fiesta.

this has got to be the worst hotel we have ever stopped in ,article says that the hotel is centrally situated and only 500 meters from the beach the hotel is on the outskirts of palma nova and the beach is a good 15 minute walk the food at the hotel was luke warm at best and tasteless ,couldnt stand it so ended up eating out at dinner and tea which is most annoying.the staff were ignorant and couldnt be bothered . alarm bells started ringing when you turn up at a hotel and it takes half an hour to check in becase the check in desk is full of people complaining. wouldnt recomend this hotel to anyone

We stayed at the Voronova in Calvia,Palmanova,Majorca and the holiday was spoilt by the poor quality of food and although complaints were made by several people they did not do anything. We had to eat out on 3 occassions, although it could have been more but for the expense. In all the 40 years we have been on holiday this food is definately the worst.
Do not go there

had a great time when we stayed at voranova hotel oct 2008.
totally disagree with negative criticisms of this hotel.
selection of drinks available on all inclusive was good, barstaff could be slow and at times appear surly, but hey, they were rushed off their feet.
food was fresh, of good quality and well prepared. staff in downstairs dining room were friendly and very helpful, especially Sidi and Vijay.
entertainment at night consisted of mostly organists/singers, aimed at family or maybe more elderly.
i would visit ths hotel again, short walk to pleasant beach, further from the hustle and bustle of magaluf.

We were unfortunate enough to stay at the Voronova Hotel in Palma Nova. We only stayed there for three days and asked to be moved as we could not stand it any longer. The hotel was very tatty, dirty in all the public areas and especially the area surrounding the pool which was not cleaned or swept while we were there. The corridors were filthy and rooms were dark and basic. The floors were so dirty we had to scrub our feet after just walking through the room without shoes. The staff in the hotel were very unfriendly and unhelpful and seem to have no pride or interest in customer service. The air conditioning did not work and the T.V was described by their engineer as "kaput" and he refused to exchange it. The noise from the hundreds of under 2l's staying there was horrendous all through the night and even more checked in at around 5am daily. A horrible experience - if you are over 21 and stay sober then be warned!

I stayed in this hotel in April 08 with my husband and 2 children, I was worried at first because of all the bad reviews but we found the hotel to be of a good standard, parts of the hotel are being refurbished but it didn't interfere with the guests at all and there wasn't any noise disruption.

The hotel was clean and the pool was lovely, our room was basic but clean and the maids were in every morning to clean the room and make the beds.

The staff were also very friendly. The only bad things I have to say is the food was disgusting with poor choice, (i would recommend staying self catering} and there was no mini market or shop to buy drinks crips ect in the hotel but there is a super market close by.

The entertainment was poor and catered only for the older generation but I later found out that this is because out of season the hotel is more popular with the elderly but in the peak season it is very popular with young British holiday makers, I therefore wouldn't recommend this hotel for young couples looking for lively entertainment during out of season months.

Overall we had a pleasant stay at hotel voronova and once the refurbishments are complete this hotel will be very nice.

I read some of the reviews on here before I went but by then I had already booked, I never usually read them but when I did I thought it cant be that bad.

We booked All Inclusive to find when we got there they call it All Inclusive Light which means bar only open for free drinks at certain times and the restaurant when open you can have free drink but when you have finished and left the restaurant and you wanted another drink you had to buy it as the bar was closed for free drinks when restaurant was open and if you wanted a snack in between meals you had to pay for it.

I and other holiday makers have never heard of All Inclusive Light before and I go on holiday alot.

The food was disgusting for boxing day we had a choice of squid rings, chicken, raviolli and mash we ended up with a plate of salad or most of the time we spent the money we took to eat elsewhere because the food was that bad.

The cleaners came in and did our room every day which was probably the best thing about this holiday as the first day we arrived the water was bright yellow and we had no hot water but that did get fixed and then some holiday makers had no water at all as they was filling the pool, the staff never smiled at all and there was no entertainment for kids all they had was entertainment for the pensioners.

I'm sorry if I have moaned alot but this was the worst holiday I have been on for food and entertainment and all inclusive and would definitely not go back.

Before reading this review please note i have never left a review like this for a hotel in 10 years and over 30 family holidays. This place makes Faulty Towers look organized, definitely a case of the lunatics running the asylum. This hotel will kill or seriously hurt someone before long if it doesn't get its act together.

Firstly the good points.
The rooms were cleaned daily.

Now the bad points.

The Rooms.
After being allocated an occupied room we had brown cold water for two days, no water at other times, electric sockets hanging from walls, patio doors so heavy as the plastic frame buckled as you opened and closed them, no thermostat on the heating, cracked marble sink unit, plastic towel hooks broken, yellow stained bath, mould behind the sink, exposed key card socket, room door handle falling off, room number held on by tape that kept falling off, leaky bathroom pipes, leaky air-conditioning & plaster falling off around the doors.

The Hotel building.
fire hoses out of test date, fire extinguishers out of test date, broken glass fire hose covers, many exposed electric sockets, exposed electrical junctions, missing buttons in the lifts, holes in ceilings, back door falling off, cracked glass sliding doors, perimeter fence falling down leaving rusty spikes in the ground, tiles missing in outdoor pool, outdoor pool never cleared of dirt, pool area uneven and collapsing in places, rusted grid covers, cracked plastic hole covers, missing tiles in indoor pool, indoor pool heating turned off, indoor pool ceiling falling down, carpet full of builders rubble, outdoor football pitch used as dumping ground and dangerous, children's outdoor swings missing and full of broken concrete, fire alarms hanging off walls & falling vents from ceiling in dining room.

The Key cards.
key card don't work as we had 11 of them just to open our door. key cards for the bar stop working after a few rounds, key card sometimes work in the restraunt meaning you have to queue behind a long line at reception to have them re programmed then re-queue for food or a drink. Standing joke with all the gusts and staff, most people had a dozen at a time.

All inclusive.
Don't be fooled its not, bar shut more than its open, cant get a brew with dinner or lunch unless you want to pay and then your not allowed to take it into the dinning room, you have to drink it in the bar while your lunch goes cold. My favorite is rabbit including the bones & skull with blood pink chicken washed down with a nasty bottle of cheap wine. No snacks.

The Food.
Burnt on the outside and raw on the inside, poor choice, not replenished fast enough, same food every other day. Eat out, then at least you wont get ill.

The Staff.
Apart from a couple the rest are miserable sods, curse in Spanish at you when they think you cant hear. Bar staff are the worst, they curse at you to your face.

The Entertainment.
None for children and a singer in the smoking room for the adults in the evening finishing at 11.30.

Hotel facilities.
Indoor, outdoor pool & sauna and nothing else.

Comments.
This is a 2* hotel at best that claims to be 4* according to the hotel owners web site. If you don't mind staying in a dump then this is the hotel for you. There is no one to complain to as the management only attend when enough people complain to avoid a riot otherwise they are invisible.

All inclusive not you could only have free drinks at allocated times and you had to que for at least half an hour.

Rooms were clean but not what we expected no fridge just rust marks where it was suppose to be the television only had Spanish channels and the piped music that was suppose to be in rooms was not working just bare wires hanging out of wall.

The entertainment was outdated people on a organ in a smoked full room with kids left to run riot with folerblades.

The food was appauling same rubbish everyday cold dry undercooked would not feed it to the homeless.

this holday was supposed to be a break for myself and my wife for xmas!! my sister in law decided to book also with her daughter because it was a xmas gift for her being 21 we all thought it was a great idea !!
didnt think that after we arrived!
we were welcomed by guests who reckoned fawlty towers was a better place to stay
food was awfull mc donalds had a roaring trade with our euros
rooms were clean but entertainment wasnt great we were so bored we all had early nights ! all inclusive at this hotel means light all inclusive and any drinks had to be payed for in the afternoon come on now guys all inclusive means all inclusive thats what we pay the travel agents all our hard earned cash for !!
we had some sun but lack of seats and sun loungers made us sit in the smoke room.
not recommended to any body familys / couples even single people.
very dissapointing after working all year for a break at the end.
there was a meeting called with the management which only resulted in free drinks all that afternoon until late cos it was new years eve but we were leaving then so we didnt benefit at all !!

Hotel was clean and the maids did an excellent job. That is the only positive comment I can make about this hotel.

Myself & my husband booked this holiday in November as I had just undergone an operation for breast cancer and the Doctors advised us it would do us good. Ha!

As we are both diabetic we always have all inclusive so that we have access to food & drink all day, Not at the Voranova.

They have AI "light" Never heard of it, Not what we paid for. AI drinks available for 7.5 hours instead of the usual 14. No snacks, No gala dinner for New Year, that was a first.

We go away every New Year and no matter what board you are on, half board, full board or AI we have always had a gala meal. They wanted us to pay €50 for music drinks & grapes. there was a mass protest so they had a free bar for everyone.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. They must make it clear to people what they are selling as we came as close to a riot as we ever want to be

We cant give you a full review as we did not see beyond the reception area. We arrived at the voronova at 4am in the morning with two young children, we were told they had a leak from a burst pipe which had affected a whole column in which we were due to stay. We were moved to another hotel and advised to call the next day to find out when we could return! three days later we were told that we were not going to return as they had overbooked our room and the burst pipe never seemed to exist!!. when we booked we asked for a low floor room as one of our children is disabled although they could not guarantee our request we were placed in a hotel in the heart of magaluf on a fifth floor room at a top of a hill. After reading reviews on other sites we were concerned and so we were right to be !!!. Never book this hotel!!!!

We wish that we had enjoyed the advantage of reading reports by previous visitors to this hotel. The circumstances in which we were thrown out of this hotel by security after our room had been burgled have is clearly a regular occurrence. As with other reviewers , we were blamed by security for the damage the burglars caused yet we reported the burglary to security!! They then extracted money from our party by a threat, which others have referred to, of calling the police and confiscating our passports. They clearly make a habit of double and treble booking. No reputable hotel would operate in the manner they do, and no travel agent concerned for its clients would book this hotel. Coop Travel are most dismissive of the facts we have revealed to them. They should read your reviews. We are suing them for a most distressing and expensive experience. We will post the result

We booked this holiday as a last minute thing through alpharooms.com It is a really nice hotel on the outskirts of Palma Nova and really good for families with young children. (Mine are 6,3 & 2)

The hotel staff are really helpful and the maids are more than willing to do your rooms more than the stated 3 times a week, I just bunged them 10euros when we left and they were so apreciative.

The entertainment leaves a little to be desired, although the children thought it was great, especially the dancers. There didn't appear to be any entertainment during the day but the kids were perfectly happy in the large section of childrens pool. Be warned - inflatables are not allowed in the main adult pool.

The rooms are a comfortable size with twin beds and a pull out double sofa bed. The only possible downside is that there are a few groups of loud youths with music blaring all hours - I can sleep through anything but if you don't want the mix of families and youth groups don't go.

Overall an enjoyable holiday within walking distance of Palma Nova - Good facilites for the disabled.

We were a group of eight women on a hen party and we were given 3 4 bedded rooms together over looking the back of the hotel. it was ideal as it was very quiet and the spacious balconies got alot of sun.

The rooms were clean and ample size we had a bath/shower and aircon. The only complaint I would have is that in the four days we stayed we had no cleaners and no towel changes.

We stopped on a self catering basis the rooms were equipped with a fridge but nothing else I assume if you required a kettle ect. you could have hired them.

The hotel staff seemed ok ,bar staff by the pool were very friendly and always had a smile. I can not comment on entertainment as we didn't stop in the hotel of an evening.

The hotel did cater for disabled people but mainly the guests were groups of stag /hen partys. It could get a little rowdy but it is what you expect. The pool area was large and never too crowded.

I wouldn,t reccomend this hotel for families but for an adult break it is great. I would book this hotel again.

After reading some of the reviews on this us girls (there were 11 of us) were quite anxious about going! This was our first holiday without the parents and at 17/18 the talk of break-ins, unfriendly staff and that it was unclean got us worried! Turned out that was far from the truth, well for us anyway! In our two week stay our rooms were never broken into, the maid came every third day to change towels etc (but our bed sheets didn't get changed at all!!!) and the reception staff seemed very pleasant. The pool bar was excellent and provied the perfect hangover food, the pool was a good size, though we only went in it a few times, we were bigger fans of the beach! The beach was actually a 5 minute walk away and had the best wee restaurant across from it (we went there everyday for lunch without fail). The hotel was not only close to the beach but was just a 5 euro taxi ride to magaluf and the reception staff were more than happy to call us a taxi which came in a matter of mintues! If i was going back to palma nova i'd definately return to this hotel!!

This year I went to the Voranova with my boyfriend. We had a brilliant 2 weeks holiday. We went swimming every morning in the indoor pool. The indoor pool was lovley and warm.

The staff were very helpful again. This year we went on some trips, and we went all over the island. When you get to the vornova if you ask about trips you can get on them. The buses can take wheelchairs users.

Just ask for Jon peeare, he is very friendly and helpful. We are going back next year.

My husband & I booked this hotel for our Easter Break.
As it was so cheap we were a little concerned, considering the reviews we've read, but it proved to be great value for money.

As we were arriving 11am ish on Good Friday we'd sent an email requesting if we could check in early - this caused no problem at all. The receptionist was very friendly & accommodating.

It was a really nice walk into Palma Nova, say about 10 minutes.

Apparently you did have to rent most items from reception, but then again we didn't spend that much time there, so we weren't bothered about the TV, kettle etc etc.
Obviously it was a bit early in the season & it was quite quiet in the hotel.

The only disturbance we had were the cleaners laughing whilst going about their work., we're not used to people enjoying their work, especially coming from the UK!

We are in our mid 30's & we enjoyed the walk into Magaluf several times during our stay, only during the day tho.....far too old for all that!!!:)

We would stay at this hotel again.

When we arrived the hotel itself was lovely, massive heated outdoor pool with kids area and small indoor heated pool with sauna as well.

We had a ground floor apartment looking out the back and we got burgled on our 3rd night there along with 2 other apartments one which was next door but one and the one above ours on the 1 st floor. Have now found out since that this is a common occurrence for this hotel. We were moved to the 3rd floor overlooking the pool and it was so much better, no rumbling from the air conditioning and bleeping noise every 10 mins throughout the night. If they give you room 1107 or any room down that corridor facing the hedge don't take it or even a 1st floor apartment looking out the back eg at the hedge ask them to move you to a pool view room. They will probably try to fob you off they have no rooms looking out at the pool but keep persisting, they have proper bathrooms with baths & showers. The one we had was set up for disabled people complete with commode type thing in the bathroom and an open shower so the floor flooded every time we had a shower.

The taxi fare was a lot more more than I thought it would be, it was approx 32 euro's as the taxi drivers add 6 euros onto the meter price due to some airport tax.

The beach is not far down the road best and quickest way is to come out of the apartment and turn left up to the main road where the round about is and walk down to the next round about and turn right straight down to the beach and restaurants and bars. On the way down there on the right hand side is a bar called Karen's which is wonderful food throughout the day and John at night is the barman who is a mine of information. There isn't that much choice for food or even entertainment or bars in this area.

I went with 2 kids at Easter and certainly wouldn't even go in the summer, beach is the best thing about this resort but I think I will stick to Tenerife in future.

Most of Reception staff do not speak English, and are unhelpful.

There was no kettle in the room, or toaster, and the hotel wanted Eur 15 and a Eur10 deposit, which was non refundable. Both of these should be standared in a self-catering accomadation., I bought one for Eur9, three minutes walk away.

The supermarket on site was too expensive ie the water was Eur 1.80 and in the one down the road it was 80 cents!

It was supposed to be a family hotel, but there were stag and hen parties, also two break ins the first week, and four in the second week. I believe these were not isolated. These mainly occured on the floors above ground level!

The food at the pool bar was very nice.

The First Choice rep was not very helpful at all, He had only been there two weeks, so was quite inexperienced.

People were thrown out of their rooms without warning, and as soon as they had gone, the rooms were taken, as I believe there was treble bookings. A couple who were on their honeymoon had to sleep in the library. The arrangements when leaving were poor, we had to vacate room at 11am, to pick up the coach 2am the following morning.

We asked if we could pay to keep the room, but was unable to, as the hotel was treble booked up until 15th August. There was a room that you could use to shower in, but it was so wet and steamed up by the time we got to use it.

The Voronova looked quite plesant from the outside..but we did arrive at 4.30 in the morning. No help when we arrived as the man on reception did not speak good English.

Apartments were clean however, we did have to hire a kettle and toaster (which we had to clean out before using) as there was no drinks etc available. Nice and peaceful, do not hear people coming back from the nigh out.

HOWEVER, on our 3rd day there we popped out for a bite to eat for an hour, only to come back and find that the room had been broken into and everything of any value had been taken. Later we found out that three rooms next to us were also robbed!!!!!

NOT very helpful, took their time, police would not speak to us unless we had a translater even though they could understand. We then had to sleep in reception from 4am as we could not sleep in our room with broken doors, after visiting the police station for 3 hours. We were not even offered a drink for the child.

We were very disapointed, we were not offered another room , so as a result we had to fly home! Very disappointed as apart from that night it was lovely weather and a nice room.

Excellent hotel would go to this hotel again.

The location is abit out the way but it is only a short taxi ride, had no problems with the hotel at all staff were friendly.

The only downside was that are flight going home wasn't till midnight so I asked reception if we can keep the room until we had to leave instead of leaving at 11am and sitting around the lobby. But they said I can't keep the room cos there was other guests coming so we had to sit round for nearly 11 hours.

All in all great hotel big pool. I loved it.

The apartments were very clean indeed.

When we got there the staffs were very helpful and they couldn’t do enough to help us. We only had one drink when we got there, because we didn't like drinking out of plastic glasses.

We thought our room was very nice. At nights we didn't hear any noise at all; our room was at the end of one corridor. I am a wheelchair user. We can't believe any many people they were in wheelchairs. I said to my friend it look like a care home. We only used the apartments as a basted. We only used them to sleep there and to have showers and to use the toilet.

We thought the trips they put on were a brilliant idea, because we could get on a bus in my wheelchair and we could see more of the lovely island. We only went for 1 week this year, but next year we are going for 2 weeks.

Palma nova is brilliant for wheelchairs because it is very flat. We didn't have any thing to eat at the Voranova, we used to eat and drink out all the time

Looked nice from the outside and the reception area is nice with a few seats.

The pool is a good size and plenty of sunbeds around the pool area. Pool bar sellings drinks and snacks. Restaurant were you could purchase breakfast or an evening meal was a little expensive. Entertainment at night was awful.

Rooms were clean, bed linen and towels changed regularly.

Staff very friendly and the mini-market was well stocked but a bit over priced. Further down the road was a big supermarket selling the items at half the price. Approx 5 euros in a taxi to Magaluf.

Apartments are used for stag / hen weekends so many a sleepless night.

I would not recommend these apartments for familes.

The hotel itself wasnt to bad.It was made better by the fantastic weather we had when we were there.

They decided to clean the carpets while we were there and the whole place stunk like cabbage water for the whole week.

Also they seemed to cater more for the Germans, none of the notices on the board were in English.

Voranova is a reasonable modern building and looks fairly attractive on arrival.
Reception is very much standard for holiday apartmentsand again fairly welcoming. Pool is a good size with ample room for sunbeds.
Rooms are a good size for a holiday base and kept fairly clean but this will very much be dependant on the clientele. No complaints in terms of staff, the minimarket on-site or maid service with bed linen and towels being changed regularly.
The apartments are located at the far end of Palma Nova in the Son Caliu area. The walk is very pleasant in to the main drag of the resort and on to Magaluf. At nights , however, sometimes a taxi ride costing between 4 and 5 euros was more desirable.
We did not spend too much time around the complex to enjoy any entertainment advertised.
Principally these apartments seem to be used by large single-sex groups over on short breaks, stag/hen weekends. Fine if you are part of it but not if you are like us and a large mixed families group. It can be noisy and intimidating for younger family members in terms of coarse language and behaviour round the pool area. At night with loud groups returning at 4, 5 and 6 in the morning you are not likely to have an undisturbed sleep. We could not advise any families to use this complex.
