The only complaint we have is the size of the lifts, there are two very small lifts one of which was broken for 3 days out of the 10 days we stayed. Overall this is an excellent hotel.

| said: Thought this hotel was average, expected beter after reading reports. It's ok, nothing terrible about it, just lacking a little in most areas. Food always repetative in all inclusives, I know that, but here it was perticularly repetative. Same meat most days, same desserts every day. Food tasted ok but nothing great, could have been a lot better. Milk not refigerated at breakfast, breadsticks put out for people to cut their own, but didn't like this cause everyone before you had handled it. ques all of the time for the food. Just little things let it down. Snacks quite poor, just leftovers realy from previous meal, not avail. outside, had to eat in resteraunt all of the time.
Cleanliness pretty good.
Pools were nice but sunbeds crammed in like sardines. Some sunbeds only got sun morning or afternoon not both. Had to be down at 7am to get one which got a bit irritating.
Entertainment was ok,nothing special and too busy, seating area was just bedlam near the front where kids just used to run about all over.
Inside the Tordos was the same by about 10pm, the Mirlos was much quieter. For the all inclusive you got a paper card which wasn't very convenient.
The best thing about this hotel is its location. A minute from the beach and shops yet still on a quiet road. All in all ok but not rushing back, would go again if it was the only place we could afford but otherwise would try somewhere else.

The menu was the same everyday, pasta, chips, stew,
the location of the hotel is fine, and the staff were fairly friendly, but there was a lot of trouble all though the night every night and it needs security officers on all floors.
Plenty of entertainment for the kids, but u need more for the adults.
We have used both these hotels several times before, but we would definately never ever use them again, too many groups of young single guys boozing swearing chucking tables off of the balconies etc, also throwing soaked loo rolls from the balconies onto people sitting near the pool area,

there was never any trouble in our hotel or around the area. the food was fantastic we had something different every night and your plates were always being taken away for your next course which i say we had plenty.
the pool area was very nice and in one corner there was flinstones land which had a pool and slides for the young ones.i would visit this hotel again but pick the sol mirlos and not the tordos.

| said: We travelled to sol mirlos/tordos knowing what to expect from us going the previous year.
We originally booked half board and when we got there we paid the extra and stayed all inclusive we were then placed in the tordos for all inclusive guests. Out the two hotels this is the busier hotel and older one aimed mainly at kids.
The hotel we have always found to be clean and the toilets and pool area continually being cleaned. since our visit last year in may there has been a complete face lift of all pools and the two hotels now boast 4 lovely pools, one deep adult pool, one huge pool that you can walk in to that reaches about 5 foot and 2 baby pools. All clean with showers and the bigger ones have life guards. There is also a little park on site with a soft floor and fenced off.
The location of the hotel I think is great. A 5 min stroll from the beach and shops and less to another little public park.
The hotel staff mostly are great. The bar staff are mostly miserable with the odd friendly one thrown in but they do there jobs good.
The entertainment staff are great. They are a mixture of English and Spanish and cater for all ages. I mostly dealt with the children’s entertainers and I found them to be great. the kids club run most of the day and are fun and mostly consist of pool play or arts and crafts.i've got a 4 year old and a 6 year old and have to admit I did follow my7 kids around while they were in these clubs. The entertainers do stress that they are not responsible for the children and the kids do come and go as they please so I found it easier just to pull up a chair and enjoy watching my kids have fun. The afternoon club is 10 euros and they do monitor your kids then and they have wrist bands and aprons to wear. The kids entertainers are brill though and soon get to know the kids.javi and Marta in particular are ace. The kids can even have dinner with them at six in the all inclusive restaurant which they make fun and enables you to have your dinner in peace. The evening entertainment I found great couldn't fault it at all. They do a lot of shows them selves which are great. Have already booked for next year.
This is a family hotel and is very busy but really is great.

Still, Tordos seemed to be recently refurbished and was spotless.
They were still doing a bit of tidying up especially around the pool area but this didn't disrupt the stay.

Hotel very clean - always see cleaners around right up until 1am. Rooms also very clean - fresh towels and beds every day.
All staff very friendly and helpful except for the bar staff on the outdoor bar by the pool - they were quite rude and unhelpful.
Entertainment was very good - some nights better than others but generally entertaining. Kids kept busy all day and all night.
Close to beach and town if you venture out.
Entertainment staff work very hard and they are very good at what they do.
We will definitely be going back to this hotel and we are recommending it to all our family and friends.

the hotel location is excellent 3 mins from beach and main attractions.
reception staff a little unhelpful, bar staff excellent, waiters & dining room staff excellent, entertainment staff deserve a medal they work so hard, childcare staff are the best, nadia was excellent my 4 year old wanted to take her home i have never known a lady care about children so much ( i wish we needed a nanny!)

If you want to go into town or down the beach each being a 3 min walk the entertainment work tiressley all day long trying to involve everybody in the activities although there are lots of kids here you never hear them the kids are entertained till 22.00 pm then a show is put on for adults when I was there fantasia was on then another night greese the reason you never hear the kids is testiment to the entertainment team. The bar staff are always pleasant and quick with large measures of spirits and pints of lager usually in all inclusive hotels in is half pints and it is amstels lager not cheap local lager that is served. The rooms are cleaned and towels changed every day The staff all seem to get on together making this a very friendly fimily type of hotel to visit. From Annebelle the manager to the humble cleaner nothing is a problem it was so good I am going back in September for the 8th time it wont be the last

| said: I was booked 'All Inclusive' into this family hotel mainly for the kids clubs and location.
I was expecting to be in All Inclusive side of the complex 'Tordos' but we arrived we were told we were in the next door 'Mirlos' hotel were it is half board.
We were given 'no' info when we checked in about the hotel such as were to eat, times of eating and what and were we went for our all inclusive meals, drinks and snacks. You are given 'one' plastic card to access your room which is a real pain and it also operates the air-con and electic. No details offered re kids clubs locations.
On the 2nd day we went around the complex trying to find the rep but to not avail.
'Kids Clubs'
We eventually found them in the next door hotel the kids club. My son is 6 which meant he was in the Bam Bam Club. They do not have a room in the complex but sat up on the stage doing drawing. The clubs are advertised as FREE but the really want you to pay '10Euro per day' for a child to take part in the day activities for painting dressing up which I was extremely suprised up and I am against of additional cost when I had already paid £2000 for a family hotel with hotel run clubs. On the fist day I left my son.
BEWARE!!! They do not have a sign in/sign out sheet at these clubs and did not take any details for me and told me to come back at 12.45pm for my son. I went back early at 12.30pm for my son and found no children, or the club rep on the stage area!. I walked around the pool and bar area and my six year old son came running up to me sobbing his heart out and uncontrolably and beside himself and extemely scared and said to me I had been a long time for him. He said he was left alone for ages on his own!!!!!. It is a confusing walk from the Tordos pool to the Tordos pool a childThis was totally unacceptable and after what has happenend to Madeline McCann I could not believe they had left a six year old child unsupervised!!!. I also saw this happen to a 4 year old firl. The stage is right next to a gate that leads onto a busy main road. My son did not want or I would allow him to go back to that sort of poor child clubs. It made me appreciate how serious Thomson Holidays run the Kids Clubs.
'Food'
Breakfast is 8am-10am, lunch 1pm-3pm, dinner 6.30-9.30pm. Your all inclusive snacks are 3-6pm and 9.30-11pm. Snacks were very poor. A hamburger and hot dog roll or a toastie. No crisps were included anywhere at the bar or inside resturant as part of All Inclusive. I missed the most not being able to get a cuppa first thing in the morning. The resturant food was plentiful but repeared loads of times over. The bacon was digusting. Kids live on chicked nuggets and chips everyday!!.
'Bar'
The bar staff in the Mirlos treated the All Inclusive people second class to the paying customers, and would ignore you with your card if another person was flashing cash to get their drinks, as they would get a tip which annoyed me loads. You got local branded drinks, but draft 7up, pepsi or kas orange. It was basic juice lolly for kids. No crips or peanuts which I would have assumed to be classed as a snack.
'Room'
Very small and to much furniture in it. We had two singles squashed together and a fold up child bed. Just enough space to walk to front door toilet.
I took me four days since arriving to get the Air-Con in the room fixed. First day I reported it to reception, second day I spoke to the Duty Manager to get it fixed and she came up to the room to check. Third day I spoke to reception who said if I sploke to the Duty Manager it would be fixed. Forth evening of roasting during the night I had enough and went back to the same Duty Manager who was very apologetic and said she would have someone there in 10 mins. As promised they arrived and took two hours to fix. It had been blowing hot air all day and night into the room. When it was fixed though there was a smell of smoke all the time in the room obviously from the fire that happened in the hotel still in the system.
Our sheets were changed on the 8th day and the one time throughout the whole holiday. We also were only left using one toilet roll a day between three of us, so I would suggest you hide some in the cupboard everyday.
We were located in a quiet area of the Mirlos hotel on floor 2 as I had requested before travel a quiet room with low floor but ............
The thing is it is not extremely quiet as the walls are very very thin and you can hear the whole conversations of the people next door to you, as well as two weeks of screaming and crying babies!!!. You hear all noise & conversations constantly during the night from the corridors. We had two weeks of groups of lads 18+ in rooms kicking hell out of doors at 5am to get in & on our last night we had a group move into the room next door so there was constant noise when the got in at 4am so I was not a happy person with lack of sleep.
Tordos vs Mirlos
I was glad we ended up in the Mirlos compared to the Tordos as it was more a Butlins holiday camp and very rowdy and very noise from morning to night and too many sunbeds.
'Entertainment'
The thing was all kids entertain were at the other hotel 'Tordos' and the placed around the stage would be full and no seats or tables by 7pm and would you believe people put handbags on chairs and went for dinner. We managed to see one show in two weeks in the Tordos which was disappointing.
You could play bingo or watch a very bad live music band. Probably ok if your drunk but sober terrible.
'Guests'
This hotel is advertised as a family hotel but there was loads of drunk groups of lads and grown men put up in the hotel as well as hen parties.
'Reception'
The 'Mirlos' reception and bar area has just been refurbished with ongoing work all around ie workmen putting in computers, sorting air-con in bar. Toilets in the Mirlos kepting locking people in the doors and the handles were missing. English was very poor and most of the staff did not understand you.
'Buliding Site'
You are also in the Mirlos across roading from a building site which the tour operators fail to tell you.
'Swimming Pool'
The Mirlos pool is alot better than the Tordos. It is calm and no loud music playing and there is always sunbeds but there is a lack of umberallas in the area. It is very dirty though around the pool and unclean with cigarettes and sticky areas.ay
'Overall'
I would go back 'if' there was no groups of louts to keep you awake.
Would not pay All Inclusive again as extras very poor and plus side was not paying for drinks but after a few days novelty wears off.
Mirlos should not be run as a family hotel as everything for kids is in the Tordos.

Hotel rooms are on the small side but were fine if just two of you.
We were first given a room right at the end of the building overlooking the Tordos pool.
The noise from the music all day and entertainment all evening was a bit much for my husband so he asked for a quieter room. This we were given the next morning and from then on we had no complaints.
We were always able to get beds by the pool area but had to be early to get an umbrella. At the begining of our fornight the pool area wasn't very clean but after a complaint from another guest it seemed to improve.
The food was good just a little boring by the end of the fortnight. The only night that we felt we would rather eat out was the Mexican Themed night.
We will definately use the Mirlos again.

| said: Well where do I start I first visited this hotel in 1984 and went for the next 8years half board as this complex did not do all inclusive then.
This has been our first visit for 12years and we were pleasantly surprised the hotel itself regarding food is the best all inclusive you will get anywhere.
The Hotel recently had a fire and did not reopen till 1st June as I know that the tordos is the all inclusive hotel I asked for the mirlos but still wanted all inclusive option as I booked independently this was provided also the tordos is now very dated and needs upgrading.
The staff at this hotel can not do enough for you as I had not been all inclusive at this hotel before I was a bit unsure but all you need to do is ask reception they all speak very good english and if you still dont have the answer then ask to speak to Annabel she is the duty mangager and they will do anything for you. ie computers not available in Mirlos so Annabel sorted all guests going to Glasgow on the day of the bomb attempt the reps for the various companies were useless .
Unless you are sharing the room with a small child rooms in the Mirlos are a bit on the small side but the hotel is spotless and clean.
Dont book this hotel direct visit solmelia.com and you can book a flight on skyscanner or travelsupermarket and a taxi only costs approx 35 euro

The entertainment was good and staff were brill, only problem being when you are there for 2 weeks first week stuff is repeated when you have seen it once etc. Rooms are good for 2 people but a bit of a squash for family of 4.
I was surprised due to the level of childrens entertainment that they allowed groups of single sex ie hen nights, stag nights etc, I think they should make the hotel one or the other.

| said: I travelled to the sol mirlos/tordos with my husband and two children and my Mom and Dad on may 22 2007.
We originally thought we were staying at the Mirlos but when we got there were told it was shut due to a fire the previous year and we were put in the Tordos.
On arrival I thought I had landed in Blackpool there was a party atmosphere and full grown men walking aroung in "freddie flintstone hats" obviously the worse for wear. First impressions not very good!!
We soon realised that this hotel was a fun packed hotel specifically aimed at the children which once settled in we soon came to like.
The entertainment staff were excellent with none stop entertainment for the kiddies all day where they were well looked after with varied activities.
Some sessions do need to be payed for though. There was evening entertainment consisting of peter pan, grease and fantasia all which involved the staff and kids if your children wanted to get involved.
They would even feed the kids for you in the Freddie Flintstones section of the restaurant if you wanted them to.
I have travelled all over the globe and i've got to say this was one of our best holidays, the kids enjoyed it and so did we.
The entertainment is second to none and is none stop for adults and kids. The only down side being that the pool area is very small getting a bed is no problem but its finding a space for the bed, I'm afraid your very much like sardines around the pool and you do find your self rubbing shoulders and other fleshy bits with complete strangers!!!
We originally booked half board but once we got there the entertainment in the day and evening was so good that we payed the extra and went all inclusive well worth the money.
The food was really good consisting of mostly English food but was really tasty, with most things cooked fresh in front of you.
To hire a fridge is 50 euros a week which I think is pretty steep but we ended up going all inclusive so I never bothered in the end.
The rooms aren't over big but are OK with some rooms overlooking the pool which can be noisy but it all ends at midnight so you get the quietness then.
The cleaners are friendly and polite and normally come early in the morning.
There is a laundry room there which is clean and convenient.
Would I visit this hotel again?
After the first few days this hotel grew on me and we had a great time so yes I think I probably would.
The new Mirlos is out of this world and is fantastic with its modern interior and mirrored bar!!

The only negatives are the pool is small for the size of the hotel, and the lifts are on the small side, easy to walk up and down the stairs if your on first 2 floors, however there are 8 floors in this hotel!!
The entertainment is of a good standard, and there is a fun atmosphere in the hotel, had an excellent week and would deff return.

Please note that I work in travel and would only reccommend this hotel for families as the entertainment is based around what's good for the kids mainly.
The entertainment team are superb with the kids always trying to keep them occuppied and this time you could pay extra for the kids to take part in extra activities which are worth the money as they get something back every time.

| said: My Girlfriend and I have just arrived back from a week at the Tordos which generally was good and generally can be recommended. I sorta feel that there is too many people crammed into a small space though if that makes sense! The pool is too small for the amount of people staying there, the sunbathing area is crammed in the daytime with people and there is not nearly enough parasols for those who like a little shade. There are two lifts which apparently fit six people each. I think at most four and only if they are skinny!(Be prepared to walk up several flights of stairs!) The rooms are small too. If small is not a problem for you as indeed it was'nt too much of a problem for us well that's good but I can well imagine for some it could well cause a problem or two!
It would however be wrong to say this is a bad hotel cause it is not! The food is good with lots of choice and always hot and fresh! The reps Martin and Steve are indeed the best reps I have ever come across, always helpful and there if you need them! Inside the hotel is always clean and always smells clean too! The staff are friendly and polite and if you try and speak a little Spanish they smile even more. Draught beer always fresh and spirit measures are always generous! The location is fantastic cause the hotel is situated in Central Palma Nova But within easy enough access to Magalluf if you are feeling a little naughty!
If you have children I would imagine it's a good hotel to go. I won't say fantastic cause I have real issues about the "small" factor, and if poor sound quality drives you nuts as it does me that too could be a problem as the poolside music and entertainment is provided by a sound system even "Tandy" would have been embarrassed about!
Did I have a good time yes!! But that in the large part was due to the company of my lovely Girlfriend Caroline and only partly due to the hotel we liked for our week's holiday!

| said: Just arrived home from 2 weeks at the Tordos.
The kids had a great time loads to do there for them. We had a good time too plenty entertainment all day and night to keep all the family busy.
Just a few down points to tell you before you go here: The maids are very noisy they were arguing one morning and I asked them to be quiet as the kids were still sleeping(8am),you only get 1 card per room to get drinks which can be a bit of a pain I would rather wear a band.
Yes the lifts are small for the size of the hotel and the poolside is pretty small for the amount of people at the hotel. If you get a poolside view at the Tordos yes its nice but if you like to go to bed before 12 well its a bit hard as the music is really loud until then, as we found out our first week and asked to get moved which we did and got a room at the back of the hotel which was much quieter(just your usual ignorant inconsiderate people coming back to their rooms late at night making a right noise.)
The great points were being able to help yourself to wine, beer or juice at meal times, having a good selection of food, getting to make your own packed lunch up, having Flintstone themed tables with colouring things for the kids at meal times, having a great play park in the hotel grounds, plenty staff on to serve drinks and all the staff were very friendly.
Entertainment team were excellent, they worked really hard and were very friendly, although at times we felt there were a lot of kids and not much staff and because we stayed and watched our kids we could see how easily it would be for kids just to wander off if they moved from 1 place to another.
You can go to the Mirlos to and eat, drink and get entertained my sister was in that hotel and we preferred to use that pool 2 as it was a bit quieter. Ed the lifeguard that works there is a great guy he’s friendly and great with kids and keeps an eye on those ones who get a bit out of control in the pool as some lifeguards we noticed turned a blind eye to this.
I would return to the Mirlos but not the Tordos.

The food was ok but repetitive. The rooms were on the small size but bearable.
The biggest problem we had was the size of the pool and pool area sunbeds were locked until 9.00am and you had to use chairs to reserve a space. On the up side the beach was a stones throw away.
Bottled water was not free. If we were to go again it would be out of season less people. All in all it was a good holiday.

| said: Just returned from Sol Tordos after 2 weeks all inclusive. Hotel was very clean, rooms cleaned and beds made daily. Hotel reception staff very helpful. Evening entertainment was good and all the reps worked very hard from morning til night.
The buffet style restaurant was very good, with a choice of food for even the fussiest of eaters. If you visit the beach for the day you can even order a picnic box and pack it up yourself.
Pool quite small for the amount of people staying there and queuing for sunbeds in the morning at
7.30 a.m. was a pain.
Only 2 lifts in this hotel, we were staying on the 9th floor (top floor) but we had no problems at all.
The location of the hotel is perfect, just across the road to the beach.
I visited this hotel 2 years ago and would most definately return in the future.
If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday, do not go to this hotel, it's not for you.

| said: We have just returned from a two week stay at the Sol Mirlos. We were greeted by a friendly helpful member of staff in reception. The only problem there was when we got to our rooms they were on the seventh floor overlooking building works, we went back to reception and asked if we could move rooms, luckily there were some empty rooms on the same floor with a sea view which was lovely.
Being on the seventh floor does have its problems though as the two tiny lifts are hardly ever available, walking fourteen flights of stairs after breakfast in the heat is not easy. The rooms were cleaned daily and very cool with the air con on, there are no tea making facilities or hairdryers so take them if you need them.
The food at the hotel was good, there is a good selection of meats and an Italian section every day with fresh pizzas and pasta.
The location of the hotel is very good just across the road from the lovely beach.
Most of the staff in the hotel are happy and friendly, only one young woman on reception let them down as she was very unhelpful.
We didn't stay at the hotel at night for the entertainment as we were half board and we didn't want to sit drinking out of plastic glasses with the all inclusive gangs.
There are some great bars around Palma Nova, we spent quite a few nights at Molly's along the prom, the staff are friendly and the drinks are good value, try their sangria. Also we saw some great tribute shows in pachas pub including Robbie Williams and Madonna, we enjoyed this holiday but would not visit this hotel again.

| said: We have just got back from the Sol Mirlos hotel it was really good there but the pool's are really small and especially the Tordos one. It was packed and you couldn't get a bed anywhere around the pool.
The hotel theme was the Flintstones so nearly all the kids activities were to do with the Flintstones, the children's activities were really good because the children got to have breakfast with Fred and play all sorts of games.
When we first got to the hotel we went up to are room which was on floor seven and we was facing a building site so my mum and dad asked if we could move so we did and we had a view of the beach and half of the pool.
We didn't stay and watch the entertainment at night because there were lots of other bars around, like the bars along the prom especially Molly's it was great, I wouldn't visit this hotel again.

| said: On arrival at the hotel we were met by a receptionist who'd obviously had a long day and really couldn't't be bothered, no info on where room was, facilities etc.
The lifts in the hotel are very small especially when you have suitcases, lord knows how families with buggies managed.
We were on the 4th floor at opposite ends even though we had requested rooms together. Was told hotel was full come back next week and they would change it (we didn't bother).
The hotel was exceptionally clean, our maid was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are small, we were lucky as we had booked 2 rooms so we had a bit of room but the people next door had bunk beds in their room which left very little space.
We were all inclusive and although the food was good and plentiful we found as you so often do after a fortnight that it was a bit repetitive so we ate out a few times the second week.
We made full use of the evening entertainment which was great (the animation team worked very long and hard)however during the day we either went to the beach 12euros for 3 beds and a brolly or used the pool at the Mirlos Hotel as the Tordos pool was far too small and was used for water polo etc during the day.
Also the situation with the sunbeds was just disgraceful, our rooms overlooked the pool and as I'm an early riser it was comical to watch people coming out at 6.30 am and laying down their towels or putting out seats in the exact spot they wanted their sunbeds and then the mad dash when the sunbeds were unlocked was just hysterical(one woman put out 17 sunbeds each morning)it got even better during our second week when people began fighting over the best spots.
The reason we would not return to this hotel include the fact that the pools are just not big enough, the hotel was extremely noisy with people coming in at all hours and screaming along the corridors, I'm not a prude I appreciate people are on holiday but don't need this at 4.30 in the morning. In this respect I would recommend people ask to stay in the Mirlos which is much quieter.
We met a lot of people who had been there the year before and had booked again only to say it wasn't nearly as good as the previous year. It was very busy as a few members of staff did say they didn't know what would happen over the next couple of weeks as the hotel was seriously overbooked.
We also like to try new places each year.

| said: We (2 adults and 2 children aged 8 & 10) have just returned from a weeks holiday staying here.
We checked in mid morning and had to wait for our room to become vacant but during this time we could use the facilities including the restaurant. When you check in the receptionist takes a photo of your group which is then put onto a key card which you use for all your meals/drinks and room access.
Our bedroom overlooked the pool and was tiny consisting of a bathroom, one double bed, small table with TV fitted wardrobes, bunk beds and a balcony. Luckily it had a ceiling fan and air conditioning as it was boiling hot.
The maids clean every day. if you want your towels changed leave them on the floor. The walls are like paper which isn't good when you are next to a room of girls coming back at all hours singing and shouting one side and a noisy lift the other -
Only 2 lifts fitting max 6 people in. We were hardly ever lucky enough to get in one - felt really sorry for the younger families with prams. There are 2 flights of stairs for every floor - we were on the 4th therefore 8 flights - kept us fit anyway!! at least we were not on the 9th floor..
We are a well travelled family and have found this hotel to be the noisiest we have ever stayed in. The corridors have no carpet and therefore sound echos and travels far. take your ear plugs!! People go back to their rooms at all hours, singing, swearing, shouting, laughing the lot. The whole hotel was full of Brits making the most of the free alcohol say no more...
The food was near enough the same every day which became very boring. The kids did enjoy their free ice lollies and ice cream.
The pool was old and tiny probably not even accommodating 1/4 of the guests - Towels were put out very early to reserve places. Brits need to learn to tidy up after themselves at the end of the day and not leave it to the staff ie dirty nappies, cigarettes, plastic cups.
The music was really really loud, enough to give you a headache. The evening entertainment was excellent. We didn't go to the pool we walked to the lovely beach which is situated very close - 9 euros for 2 chairs and an umbrella well worth it as it was scorching hot. The beach was very clean.
At the end of the day this was a last minute extra holiday which was cheap - if it hadn't been for the beach I don't know what we would have done. We will never return to this hotel.

The food was outstanding and I am very fussy and there was always something that I could eat and the fruit is washed and fresh every day
The staff at the bar are very nice apart from the abuse they take off drunk ignorant idiots - it pays to say thank you at times.
The entertainment was ok for adults and good for kids
The pool is far too small for the size of hotel you can't do a few breadths of it without kids and lilos splashing about that was our only complaint.

| said: We have just returned from a 2 week All Inclusive stay at the Sol Tordos (myself, my 2 kids aged 14 and 11 yrs, my sister and my niece aged 3 yrs). The hotel is kept clean throughout the day and the majority of the staff are friendly enough. You can change your money in Reception also. There is also a Laundry Room which came in useful to alot of people.
The Pool and Pool Area is far too small for the amount of guests staying here, the pool was often crowded and water very cloudy by the end of the day. They entertainment team played Waterpolo in the pool most days but the pool is just not large enough for this. The music around the pool was often repeated over and over again and was at times too loud. If you wanted Sunloungers around the Pool you had to be up before 7.30 am to do so otherwise all the spaces had gone. Although just two days before we left they decided to keep the sunloungers chained up until 9 am but people only got chairs and put them in place of the sunloungers. The sunloungers should be put out around the pool this would be a much better idea.
The entertainment on an evening was very poor and apart from one night when The Bee Gees were on the entertainment team put on the shows, which were mostly catered for the children.
The rooms are small but clean enough and as your only sleeping in there it's not too bad, we had a Pool & Sea View looking out over to Magaluf on the other side of the hotel the rooms looked out onto wasteland. Our towels were changed daily if they were left on the floor, but our bedding only got changed twice in 2 weeks.
There are over 330 rooms and only two lifts which at peak times we had to wait upto 10 minutes and as we were on the 8th floor was a pain especially as we had a pushchair. We found alot of kids running around along corridors at all times of the day, messing about with the lifts whilst parents were round the pool or in the bar making use of the All Inclusive Bar.
The food was nice don't get me wrong but it was very repetitive the same meals kept coming out day after day which did become boring. The Salads were very nice though. I'm not a fussy eater but even I got fed up with Pasta, Pizza, Chicken and chips with every meal even Breakfast and the same Cream Cake with just a different topping on. Your not allowed to take any food or drinks out of the restaurant. There is a Pool Snack Bar but you do have to pay for anything bought their other than your drinks. We did eat out quite alot during our stay and I can recommend Katie's which is along the beachfront towards Magaluf.
We only saw our Rep the day we arrived which I thought was pretty poor.
In the Brochures it states that the All Inclusive Bar is open from 10.00 am until 01.00 am this is not so, the bar closes for the All Inclusive at Midnight but does stay open another hour but you do have to pay for you drinks.
We have travelled all over Europe All Inclusive and we have always been over the moon with the service. But I don't think the Sol Tordos is half as good as any others we have been to. We would certainly go back to Palma Nova but we'd have to say never back to the Sol Tordos.

Food was good they have a good varity, of everything, also the children could have ice lollys and ice cream.
The only thing is they would only use plastic cups for all drinks, but its a good thing concidering its a hotel aimed at children.
2 minutes from the beach, the beach is beautiful alot of water sports too, very close to Magaluf.
The staff were very helpful and the entertainment staff were brilliant, they were really good with the children, they were really good in the night too, also they have other entertainers coming in too, but my mother in-law would of enjoyed a game of bingo!
In the day they have activities for all ages, water polo, archary, volleyball, water games, killer darts, they have childrens clubs through the day, with diffrent age groups, they also have sports channels, lots to do.
This hotel is aimed at familys with children.

Positives = Low cost as I booked direct through Solmelia website
Very Clean
Good location both for Palma Nova & Magaluf
UK Televison channels available in room television
Negatives
Small room - we were situated on the 4th floor and we had a tiny balcony with a view of nothing really.
Paper thin walls - I could have a conversation easily with my Daughter who was staying in the adjoining room.
Food - Presentation poor and also the food was very often cold. In particular the dessert selection was very disappointing
Swimming Pool - Very small and the water was freezing
All things considered though we had a very enjoyable time.

The only gripes we had were that there are only two lifts in the hotel and they were quite small. Also our two year old could open the hotel room door and get out - probably a fire safety thing, but a bolt higher up on the door would be a bonus.
Also the pool was really cold. The entertainment team were terrific in all areas - from babysitting our toddler in the baby rock club, running the kids clubs and providing a top class entertainment show in the evening for the adults.
We all agreed that we would pay money to see them in the West End! The food is fabulous, a lot of choice.

| said: We have just returned from a week at the Sol Mirlos.
The hotel was very nice and the room, if a trifle basic, was very clean.
The hotel food was excellent although were were invaded by 3 coach loads of French half way through the week and they were like locusts at meal times, clearing the lot. The staff did struggle to replenish the trays quickly enough. The drinks in the bar were very reasonably priced and the staff were pleasant.
The reason that we wouldn't return to the Mirlos is because of the thin walls in the rooms. We could hear the couple in the room next door arguing and being sick in the early hours of the morning and the girl upstairs clacked around in her stiletto heels from 4 - 5 every morning. Very inconsiderate. The other problem was that while we had a nice sunny balcony, it overlooked a very busy road and we were wakened by lorries, street sweepers, motor cyclists doing wheelies in the car park in the morning.
Otherwise, it was great.

Entertainment was ok for me and my hubby but not the two boys.
Location was fab just a stones walk from the beach which was lovely.. the staff in the hotel I found would bend over backwards to help you by ringing taxis if you were going out.
Holidays reps were just great and I just cannot say a bad word that is why we have rushed out to book again.......great holiday especially if you have small children the clubs for the samller children are great.

| said: The food was excellent, plenty of choice every day, with a Flintstone area for kids in the rear with crayons and paper.
The dining room was busy but had plenty of tables so you were never waiting for a place. However there were numerous queues during very busy periods especially at breakfast. Plates and tables were always cleared very quickly by the dining room staff.
They were the most friendly staff at the resort.
Very good location, just a short stroll through a park with climbing frame for the kids to the beach.
The pool was a very big let down and probably one of the reasons I will not return there. It was too small for the amount of guests accommodated at the hotel.
Another big let down was the size of the room. On booking we were allocated a twin 3. But in reality it was only a small twin with a put-u-up bed shoved in the corner by the patio door. There was hardly enough room for us and our luggage. Bathroom was nice though. Cleanliness was excellent. I did not see one bug in the whole hotel during my time there.
The evening entertainment wasn't too bad but not great. We did not experience the daytime entertainment as we were went to the beach everyday due to the pool being so busy.
The bar area definitely needs a makeover - stuck in the 70's big time. Very dark and even though there was a non-smoking area it was very very smoky as they only had two doors open to outside. Reminded us of a working men's club! Rows and rows of dark chairs.
Another smoking issue. As non-smokers it was very annoying to be forced to inhale other guests smoke in the corridors and through the bedroom door when we went to bed. Also very noisy at night no matter what time you went to bed as you had guests coming back every hour throughout the night without much consideration for others, and the bins were collected around 6am!!!

The only down side I would say is that the rooms are small for a family, there are only 2 lifts which can cause problems at peak times and if entertainment is inside it can become very noisy!!!
The bar area seating is definitely needing refurbished but even with these one or two points you will enjoy yourself at this hotel we did.

The first appearance of the hotel looked child freindly. At check in the reception staff was very helpful.
Rooms was clean and tidy although the maids had only came in twice to clean up and change the bedding. Security was not very good as a bottle of perfume was stolen from our room so I would strongly reccomend locking everything valuble in a safe.
The food in the restaraunt was good but there was'nt a very good varaity of food on a day to day basis the restraunt staff was very helpfull and pleasent the bar staff was very quick and efficiant.
There was no entertainment for the adults and there was childrens entertainment going on till 12 0 clock midnight+ on the overall I would not visit this hotel again, but this hotel is very family orientated especially for younger children if you like your kids stopping up till late!! This hotel is not recomended for couples.

Food nice to start but got a bit fed up by the end of the week. Plenty of choice though, and very clean.
Some staff very nice, others could be miserable.
Entertainment not very good for us, but we had a few drinks, then go out for entertainment.
The hotel was very close to lots of bars etc.

There was never anywhere to sit around the pool and the seats in the bar were pushed together like sardines. In the end we used the Mirlos pool, which was alot quieter.
There were 6 adults, one child of 7 and 2 babies one of 23 months and one of 8 months. The 7 year old had a whale of a time and ended up crying cos he didn't want to come home, but it wasn't really suitable for the babies and we would have been better at a self catering apartment.

It was clean the staff were friendly the food was splendid with such a big selection every night for adults and kids. The rooms were clean and towels and bed linen changed on a regular basis.
The entertainment was good especially for kids. The location was spot on. The resort was very clean.
The only down side was that there were only 2 lifts which were very small and it took forever to get one.
The pool was small but big enough for our use. We didn't have a problem getting a sunbed whatever time of the day. The main pool at the Tordos (which is the all inclusive part of the hotel) we found to be very noisy and very busy and tended to stay clear from.
All in all was very delighted with our two week stay in the Hotel Mirlos and will definitely be going back and bringing other members of our family.

The good points on this hotel was that we were grateful to be on the 2nd floor, as there are 9 floors and only 2 small lifts, having 2 prams meant we had to wait 5-20 minutes or bump the prams up and down the stairs.
The room was a good size, we had a double bed in one side and three singles in the other side and also a cot. and still plenty of space.
Only negatives we had were that the outside entertainment ended by 11pm, but it also had large gaps of just music playing during the evening entertainment.
We also had problems with hygiene i.e mice in restaurant and mouldy toasties which meant we ended up eating out.

| said: Just returned from a fantastic week in the Sol Tordos, Majorca. I would say if you were travelling without kids then this probably isn't the best hotel for you.
It really is geared up for kids my 4 year old had the time of her life with the kids club (bam bam) it should be for 5 - 9 years old but they let her join. they do different activities every morning and every afternoon for 2 hours so you can get a bit of time to yourselves.
There is also plenty of photo oportunities with Fred and Dino one or the other and occasionally both of them are out at least once a day. They do activities for the adults as well such as rifle shooting, volleyball, killer darts, and watching grown men run across the pool on a big yellow mat is hiarious.
The hotel was lovely and clean we were on the 7th floor, and yes there are only 2 lifts which you do have to wait for but whats the rush your on holiday!!
The room was very small but very clean with a double bed and 2 bunk beds in, the top bunk has got safety bars but be warned my 4 year old insisted on having the top one and subsequently got her legs stuck in it in the middle of the night so I had to prize her out, needless to say she was happy with the bottom bunk after that.
The food you just couldnt fault it there was something for everyone always meat of some sort, fish and vegetarian food every dinner time and tea time and the cakes are just gorgeous.
Staff on the whole are very friendly, and blimey they do work hard, Julie from the kids club was lovley.
Entertainment at night was pretty good they had a mini disco for the kids for about 45 minutes then the reps would put on a show or they would have other shows coming in the bejing acrobats were fantastic. Between 11 and 1 at night you could go inside and sing your little heart out on the kareoke if thats your cup of tea!!!!!!!
My only real gripe with the whole place was that you had to get up about 7.30 to get a sunbed by the pool(people actually queue up in the morning towel in hand then stand on there spot until they unlock the sunbeds about 8.30 it really is entertainment in its self watching tiny women dragging six sunbeds around).
They do have a sun terrace which didn't fill up quite so quick and you could easily watch the kids up there if they were in the pool.
All in all we had a fantastic time and would go back again.

| said: Have just returned from a fantastic holiday at the Sol Mirlos Hotel.
The hotel was spotlessly clean, towels and sheets were changed daily and not a creepy crawly in sight!.I did wonder about the effectiveness of a ceiling fan but it did keep the room cool.
Although the pool was small it was very well maintained with a lifeguard on duty most of the day but towels need to be down by 8.00a.m!!.
No complaints about the food, although we did eat in resort a few times for a bit of variety. The Mirlos is only a five minute amble to the beautiful beach and shops and is in a quiet location.
Hotel staff were friendly on the whole although the restaurant staff were rather tetchy at times. The entertainment was limited in the evenings for children, the daytime clubs looked good but my children preferred to spend their time in the pool.
On the whole I was very pleased with the hotel, but if I could change one thing I would have liked a bigger room as 4 of us were rather cramped, although our eigth floor sea view was magnificent.
I would definitely visit this hotel again and plan to return to Palma Nova in the near future.

| said: We stayed at the Tordos for a week. The hotel was clean the rooms are small but adequate for the time you spend in them. The rooms are cleaned everyday. The hotel was very busy but it was peak season.
You do have to be up at 8am for a sunbed which was a bit of a nuisance, as some people were keeping sunbeds and then going of for the day.
The food I thought was great. I admit it was repetitive but the thing was there was that much on offer each meal time you couldn't expect much else. I don't think that you could moan about the food as there was something for everyone.
The pool area was very busy and it is only small but there is another pool at the Mirlos if you want to get away from it.
The entertainment team work very hard and are very enthusiastic and really get the kids involved. All in all I think this is a great hotel if you have kids who like getting involved I think it’s very much like a Butlins abroad but in a good way. So if you’re looking for a quiet relaxing holiday then this is not the place for you.
We liked it so much we are going back again in 3 weeks. One of the best things is if you are going there on a budget then you need not spend a penny if you didn't want to as everything is all in even ice creams and ice lollies.

The two younger childern really enjoyed all the entertainment and mini disco but the 15 year old found this a bit boring. The food was o.k and we all found something that we liked but it did was a bit repetetive. The rooms were clean and they were cleaned every day.
The pool was crowded and to get a sunbed you had to get up at 8.00am or you didnt have one all day!
The entertainment team were brilliant and the shows at night were good. The beach is right on the door step with pedalos ect and a bar. The hotel will also provide a packlunch if you want.
Overall we enjoyed our holiday here and would go back but probably at a differnt time of year so it wasnt so busy.

| said: We have stayed in Sol hotels happily for some years and have wrote good honest reports this is what we all thought of this hotel.
Good points:-
The rooms are a bit dated but very clean the maids worked very hard clean towels every day.
The reps also worked very hard tried to involve you in games etc the day time entertainment was good.
The breakfast was nice full English cereal fresh fruit etc it was cooked well and hot.
Now the bad points:-
Lunch salads good fish every day or pork
evening meals was such a let down usually what was served for lunch but with a few extras pork pork all in
sauces. Deserts was good but on a couple of times we saw kids messing with food I would also recommend serving yourselves with a clean spoon as we saw children licking serving spoons and putting them back in deserts we used to wait till fresh ones came out
My 16 year old niece slipped on the stairs and had to have 6 stitches in her knee the hotel staff and doctor
were great attending to her. The accident could have been avoided if greedy guests were stopped from taking drinks to their rooms stocking up for after all inclusive stops.
The lifeguard stopped you from taking lilos into the pool saying it was rules of the hotel even though travel reps gave them away on the first day.
The pool had to be drained and cleaned 3 times in 1 week because of poo and sick in the pools. To be fair to the hotel it was good that they water tested all the time and did this as it stopped tummy bugs we did not hear of any one that was ill thanks to hotel staff
If you have booked your holiday like us try and enjoy
it as we did the hotel has some good points it's sometimes bad guests that make you ashamed to be British.

| said: Stayed at Tordos Hotel all inclusive, the room was very clean although when got there had a shock as 1 room for 2 adults and 2 children, 1 double bed, 1 bunk bed, wardrobe and TV, all squashed in 1 room.
Thank God for the air con, asked for diff room, told all the same rooms for same no. of people, so had to cope with that for a fortnight.
There were 2 small lifts for all of the hotel. Had to wait a while for them, or take the stairs, we were on the 8th floor, but good exercise.
We did get a free lilo off the rep at the welcome meeting, but no lilos allowed in the pool.
The entertainment was very good for children all the way up to 11pm then karaoke inside and for children too, could have done a bit more after about 9:30 for the adults.
Hotel staff very friendly, food excellent. All in all we did enjoy ourselves, but I will try another place next year, and not all inclusive as the children were picky saying things tasted different.

The food was plentiful and very good and hot. You could eat from 8am till midnight, which was great with kids.
The all inclusive bar was busy at times but the queue did go down very quickly with the bar staff being kept very busy. The local drink was ok and you could order some cocktails, i.e.: sex on the beach or blue lagoon.
The staff were friendly, I have to laugh at some of the reviews complaining that the staff did not speak good English. Do they forget they are in a Spanish country not Britain? If they wanted to communicate with them they should try learning the local language!!!
All the hotel staff at the end of my week there performed a little bit of entertainment of their own and they were all introduced to everyone at the pool side.
The entertainment was good, there was a mini disco for the kids for about 30 mins, then the adult entertainment, they would be a few professional entertainers during the week, then the rest would be guests which were a good laugh. My only disappointment in this was it was on for long enough. It would start at 9.30pm and finish around 10.30pm, them the entertainment would carry on inside with karaoke.
I would gladly go back to this hotel again.
Food and drink good, ideal location, friendly staff (well they were never rude to any of us). The only downfall was the lifts situation, sometimes you would have to wait 10mins on the lifts and they were small. And if you wanted a sunbed you had to get up at 8.30am

| said: Just got back from the Tordos. I read a few reports before we went and wasnt too sure what to expect, good or bad but I'm pleased to say I would refer to the word good now we've been there.
In short the hotel is very clean, the rooms are small but modern and well kept. 99% of the staff are friendly and overall you would find it hard to fault the hotel. Some people complained the rooms are small, theres no fridge etc but remember this is a hotel not apartments so you only get a room to sleep in and an ensuite! For me and my partner we felt the best thing about the hotel was the food and the location. Food - best All Inclusive food we've had, fresh, well cooked and a great selection. They do cook on the grill in front of you and theres chicken, pork chops, steak, swordfish, pasta, pizza, then a selection of other dishes, salad bar, huge selection of fruit and excellent deserts (chocolate cake, sponge cake all fresh) They also have a good selection of bread. The suprise for us was that all sort drinks are branded, Pepsi and 7 up and this is very very rare for all inclusive. Best meals are lunch and dinner, breakfast was ok but nothing special. (snacks are a bit pants as well!) I doubt anyone would eat here and find nothing they like. I also think you will struggle to find a restuarant nearby serving better food for lunch and dinner especially for the amount you can choose from.
Location - very close to the beach and trust me the beaches here are top class.
Bad things about the hotel. Pool is stupidly small and the sunbeds are laid out like sardines in a can. The hotel was modernised in 1999 but I dont think they changed the pool. Entertainment is 110% for children and me and my partner (26 and 23) were very bored and forced to go elsewhere in the evenings which being all inclusive was annoying. However if you have children they will totally love it. This was the same during the day, we had to go to the beach every day and we normally lay by the pool butit really was that busy and small, not our cup of tea but the beach is so nice we couldnt complain.
There are only two lift which fit 4 adults not 6 and you have to wait up to 5 minutes to go up and down, especially if you are on the 8th or 9th floor. This doesnt sound long but can be really annoying and there were often cues for the lift.
The all inclusive drink are fine but as the hotel is nearly full you will have to que for drinks in one of the 3 ques!
Overall apart from the poor adult entertainment, small pool and small lifts this hotel is great. The location is superb, its modern, good for kids with great food. Whilst its not ideal for us we are going back in september as its great value for money, the food is worth the stay alond and the location is perfect. We've been to Palma Nova 6 times, and I doubt you will ever find the perfect hotel, not for £300 per person per week all inc |
