When we arrived at the hotel we were welcomed by the staff who were very helpful right from the start. Although we were disappointed with our room to begin with as it was quite small and had low celings in parts which took a bit of getting used to. We also opened one of the drawers to find an ashtray full or ash and other rubbish which was not a good start...... we immediately went down to reception to get our room changed but there was no rooms available so a cleaner was sent to our room within 10 minutes to sort it out. One other moan about the room was that the shower / toilet room was very small and the shower was practically above the toilet - this was something we did get used to eventually aswell as getting used to the room although if we were staying two weeks we would have definately asked for a change. The best bit about the room was the balcony -was a good size.

The pool was nice, and plenty of sunbeds around. Bar prices are quite expensive although they have a happy hour every now and again throughout the day. And "Cake Man" comes every so often so I would recommend you buy a cake from him - very nice!!!

Hotel is in a great location, in a nice area away from all the busyness - literally a 2 minute walk to all the bars, restaurants etc.

Turkish night was fun, food was okay but the portions were not great. Would still recommend it though as it was a good night overall.

We would probably visit this hotel again as the location was great and the staff very helpful.

This hotel is similar to most other hotels in the area. The bar/pool area is quite nice, with the bar prices being around the same as bars in the town. Be careful if you charge any drinks/food to your room though. Check your bill carefully as they tried to add drinks/food etc that we knew we hadn't had on a couple of occasions. This had happend to some other guests as well.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
We hired air-con for the week at a cost of £25 but didn't feel that we actually needed it. The air-con system leaked quite a lot, causing a puddle on the floor by the bed but apart from this we didn't have any other problems at the hotel.
The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. Each day the maid would arrange the towels on the bed in the shape of flowers with fresh flowers sprinkled over them, which was really nice.
We had a shared balcony which was fine.
It's a bit of a basic hotel but it's fine for what you pay. They have everything that you need there; pool, bar, plenty of sun loungers, clean and best of all it's just a 2 minute walk into the town of Hisaronu. I would definately stay here again.

we visited the tolay the first two weeks in july, their
staff were helpfull,in some ways to freindly that they constinly pestered you.the maids were allways busy and this showed when you returned to your room as it was spotless and towel's made in to swan's or love heart's with flower's from the lovely garden's.
beware of the prices at the bar,we were charged £1.63
for a can of fanta and with three kids it was very expensive.the town center is only a two minute strool away where the price for every thing is a quarter of which you will pay at the tolay.
the town center is traffic free at night ideal when you have kids, plenty of resturant's from turkish, indian, chinese to take away kebab houses.
you are not allowed to take any food or drink's in to your room's.
entertainment is your typical belly dancer and the food was nice but very small portion's
---------------------
we would have considered visiting the tolay again as we liked the resort but the rip of prices has totally put us off.

We had a lovely holiday at the Tolay hotel this September. from the moment we arrived the staff were attentive and helpful, and any queries were dsealt with. The rooms were lovely and clean and were kept clean the wholse two weeks were thee. One day we even came back to the room to find a lovely flower arrangement laid out on the bed, which was a lovely touch.

The restaurant food is simple home cooked food but is tasty, and the staff are prepared to try to meet any special off-menu requests. The turkish night meal was beautiful, really nice barbecue food and the turkish meze were gorgeous.

The bar staff were fantastic - every night there were a few laughs at the bar, and all the staff would do anything for you.

For a 2 start hotel offering typical turkish breakfast facilities this hotel was fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a friendly, clean, family run hotel base for their holiday.

Stayed at the Tolay for 2 weeks, we were greeted as soon as we arrived by a friendly member of staff, booked in cases whisked away to our room.

Our room was spacious enough for two people; there was a double and single bed wardrobe and bedside cabinet. The room was brightly decorated clean linen and towels, the shower room was big enough and clean
Only down side to shower was everything got wet when you showered, but you soon get used to it.

Breakfast was the normal Turkish cuisine tomatoes cucumber cheese hard boiled eggs olives bread and homemade jam’s tea or coffee.

The pool was large and deep about 5ft in shallow end perhaps not ideal for those who can’t swim; it was lovely and cleans plenty of sun beds.

The reception is open 24hrs a day and so is the bar.
All the staff are wonderful friendly people nothing too much trouble for them they work very hard. This is a lovely family run hotel and we will be going back next year.

stayed in the hotel around 16-23 sep 2007. stayed in the hotel on an bed and breakfast basis along with my partner.

The accomidation was basic but great, clean and was cleaned on a daily basis. Clean towles, beds made, bathroom and all floors cleaned.

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis although the breakfast was basic as it was contintal breakfast but you could order different for an extra charge. Every other day there was a theme night we really enjoyed especially the lamb shank night the meal was fantastic and value for money.

The pool was clean and was regually in use with other holiday makers staying at the hotel.

Loacation of the hotel was five star as it was only a short walk to the town centre.

The staff were so friendly and aproachable from the manager to the cleaners. All were happy to help at any time of the day as there was always a memeber of staff 24 hours a day.

When we first arrived we were given a warm welcome and shown to our spacious room. Although there was only two of us there were three beds with spacious wardrobed and dressing table.

overall a great hotel were very impressed and will be going back next year along with family.

this hotel is by far the worst that i have stayed in in 13 years we arived at 5am we were given a room in the old block looking out to a gravel track and wast land the room had 1 double bed and 1 single bed in it 2 bed side cabinets and 1 wardrobe that had seen better days no room to walk around beds 2 power points in bad location with the beds taking up all the room

barthroom dirty toilet seat had brown stains on it and the bin had fag burns all over it and a bad smell from the drains

the smell outside the hotel was of old drains where we think all the wast water was pumped to the other side of the carpark to a soak away that was over full and running over the carpark

the breakfast was very basic if you wanted even tost or extra cup of tea it was at extra cost by far the worst i have had out there in 13 years

nights were broken sleep as the hotel had chickens running around and a cockeral would start crowing at 5am aprox every morning through experience my wife has had a serious desease through bird droppings se we only slept in the hotel not ate or drank

the barbeque was prepared on a very dirty grill

on wating for the return pick up in the reception the hotel owner asked us how much we had spent in the town we told him aprox he then said that as we had not spent in his bar we were bad customers and told us not to come back to his hotel we would never have gone back before this but that made it even more so

we arrived in the hotel to be greeted by name by Ali who was the hotel manager. He was lovely and gave us all the information we needed about the hotel. When we got into our room it was just like any normal hotel, bed, bathroom and wardrobe. The bedroom was lovely and clean as was the balcony. The bathroom could of done with a bit of a sprouse up but you only get what you pay for. All the staff were lovely and made it fell like home and nothing was to much trouble for them (even wanting a sandwich at 3 in the morning). Elvis, Tolga and Popeye really made our stay enjoyable and were always around if you needed them. The hotel was located just outside the main street so you didn't have very far to go to the nearest restaurants and shops. Would I go back again, defintely. The staff just made you feel so welcome that you didn't want to go home at the end of your holiday.

The hotel was always clean and tidy, unfortunatley we got the smallest room there without much of a balcony. Location is fantastic for couples and familys just wanting a mixture of quiet time and nights out. Hotel staff are all helpfull and up for a good laugh and very welcoming. The pool is lovely and the bar is virtually open 24 - 7! Because it is quite a small hotel it gives you chance to get to know other people there which made our holiday all the better, considering there was just the two us!Breakfast was traditional which we didnt really like, so I would recommend going self catering which is what we will be doing next time. Food and is cheap enough but allow for extra £100 to pay for air conditioning and safe etc. All in all an excellent holiday and although its not 5* accomodation you couldn't ask for more considering the price. We will hopefully be returning to the Tolay next year.

What can I say? I would never go back to the same hotel twice, having said that, I'm about to travel back to this hotel for the 3rd time in 6 months! I love the hotel, the resort and most of all the people. I travel alone and if anyone asks me where I'm going I say "I'm going home", and everyone knows where I mean now.

The staff are friendly, nothing is too much trouble, but they do like to ask you where you've been and what you've been doing, so much so I started calling Elvis "dad"!

Ok, it's not 5* but the way you are taken is as family more than makes up for it. The rooms are kept spotless and there are clean towels every day - what more do you want?

This hotel is absolutely excellent in every way. We all loved it.

Everyone that stayed there was like a family and the staff were really friendly and great with the children. We all cried before leaving (except for hubby) we wanted to go back in May 2007 but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked for the dates we wanted.

The rooms were spotlessly clean and adequate for everything we wanted and although the cleaner couldn't speak much English she was very friendly and really really lovely as were all of the staff. We had a great time !!!!

The Tolay aparthotel is situated down a little dirt road just on the outskirts of the main Hisonaru resort centre.

Its a nice location but the proximity to a pine forest is prone to mosquitos and when we got to our room I counted at least ten in the room, time to get swatring!

The room was clean but somewhat cramped, there are two blocks of rooms one has been fitted with new upvc doors and windows and one ,the one I was in,with heavy wooden doors. Unfortunately the locks in the doors were so loud if someone came in or out of their room when you were sleeping you would wake up. Couple that with the dogs barking all night and it led to a few sleepless nights.

The showers were good and with the exception of early morning there was hot water.

Elvis at the bar was great despite his obvious exhaustion this late in the season, particularly one night when due to a storm my room flooded (have these people never heard of guttering!?)and had to change rooms at 1 am. Maybe this was why the whole of the downstairs was damp and why even before the rain, there was water in the corridor and dreadful damp in the plasterwork.

Breakfast was the normal rubbish 'turkish' bread, egg, jam etc that no Turk has ever eaten, but with the exception of the boiled egg I could not eat it because it was covered in flies,as was I if I sat still to long.

The pool was nice but the drain off gully covers around the outside were downright dangerous. I stood on one and it collapsed. If I would have had no shoes on I would have hurt myself. Also the railings around the balconies are an accident waiting to happen, beware if you are not on ground floor! They are made of aluminium.

This is all so typical of the turk tourist scene. Margins are tight, holidays are cheap but you know what they say you pay your money you take your choice. You have been warned!

The staff could not do enough for you. The breakfasts were as we expected having been to Turkey numerous times, they also were prepared to do any snacks which were not on the menu, if at all possible.

Rooms were cleaned daily.

Popeye and Elvis worked their socks off, nothing was a bother.

The location was off the beaten track, consequently we did not have any noise from the main resort in the evening.

All in all we felt it was value for money

Very clean & well looked after rooms.

Food was basic but ample with a choice of a cooked breakfast for an extra charge.

Fantastic location away from the noise of the town but just 3 mins walk to all the bars shops etc.

Elvis, Popeye and all the staff are a credit to the Turkish hotel trade, wicked sense of humour and always ready to advise on places to visit eat etc. Gave a 5 for entertainment purely for the conversation at the bar at nights, don't like to go anywhere twice as there are too many places in the world to see, but without doubt would be glad to stay there again if I was going to Hisaronu.

Evening:we sat around the bar laughing joking and chattin with the staff it was about 3 minutes walk from the town were you would find many bars, cafes and restaraunts.

Arrived at Tolay hotel at 9 in the morning and was greeted by the owner we checked in to which we had help with suit cases to rooms.

The hotel staff (Elvis, Tolga, Popeye, Ali g,) was the best you could get they entertained you the whole time you were there they could not do enough for you great people.

The location was spot on 5 minute walk to bars and restaurants but far enough away from the noise when wanting to go to bed. The hotel food was nice all home cooked as we ate at the hotel quite often.

I would recommend this hotel to any age group. One other thing we as a family could not fault it and are definitely going back. See you soon.

This hotel is only a 2 star, but who gives it this rating must be mad it should be a 2+ /3 at least

I would recommend this hotel to everyone, having visited the area over the last 10 years we have stayed in quite a few different hotels over the years,I have read quite a few damning reports on this hotel and was quite apprehensive on what type of accommadation we were going to find.

WELL WE WERE VERY SUPRISED Smile

When we arrived at our hotel in the early afternoon, we were greeted by very friendly staff mehmet aka ELVIS and Tolga, & Popeye.
we were helped into our rooms and the staff very efficiently helped carry our cases and luggage.

we had a few drinks and met our fellow guests at the bar,
After staying in the TOLAY for 2 weeks we had a fantastic holiday the rooms are very clean the staff very helpful and the food home made jams delicious Smile

I would recommend this hotel to all types of people especially families, the young and the old, as it is one of the best, we have stayed in.

well done to the owners and staff for an excellently run hotel we will be booking again very very soon.

We arrived at the hotel on the opening day of this years season on a 7 day B&B basis booked through Holidays 4 U.

Bordered on one side by pine trees and their own kitchen garden, the hotel is set in well maintained gardens in a very quiet location only 2 mins stroll from all the action in Hisaronu centre.

The hotel itself was spotlessly clean, our room was bright and airy with views of the surrounding hills from the balcony.

The staff were extremely friendly, pleasant and helpful without being 'OTT' nothing was too much trouble for them.

The only food we had was breakfast, fresh and plentiful.

Being the start of the season there was no organised entertainment, but we were more than happy to sit at the poolside bar laughing and joking with the bar staff and other guests until late in the evening.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone and are already planning a return visit.

The hotel is in a great location it reminded us of Darling buds of May country as they grew their own veg and had their own chickens for their eggs.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will be returning next year.

We stayed in the Tolay hotel during the last two weeks of September 2005.

We found the hotel to be absolutley fine. We paid a very low price and were travelling out of season, so weren't expecting much, but I must say we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived.

The room was very clean and spacious, it had all the basics that you will need. The en suite was clean and tidy, and the shower was fine. (hot water all throughout the day). Plus a hairdrier.

We paid an extra £25 per week for air conditioning, which seemed to be a new system and was very effective for cool air in the day time and to warm you up late at night.

The hotel had recently been refurbished to an excellent standard, that coupled with the fact that the cleaner would service our room whenever it was required made our stay so much better than we could have hoped for.

The Lounging area was comprised of a bar, swimming pool (of a good size), plenty of sun loungers, and an indoor restaurant (of sorts). It was perfect for the odd lazy when we couldn't be bothered doing anything, you could just laze around the pool, eat, drink and read to your hearts content in peace.

The staff were all very friendly and kind, the guys who worked behind the bar would always keep you entertained, or just leave you alone, depending on what you wanted really. Generally we found all of the staff to be helpful, pleasant and accommodating. (This is a family run business, with close family friends employed as staff).

We ate at the hotel about 3 or 4 times during the fortnight that we spent there. To give you an idea of the price, it was £6 for a starter, main course, desert and a pint of Premium lager (or soft drink). The food was very good in a get what you pay for type of way. (It wasn't gormet, but it was very tasty and did the trick).

The hotel is located quite literally 3 minutes walk from Hisaronu centre, so it is tucked away from the noisy night life, but it is easy to stagger back to after a night on the tiles.

From Hisaronu it is very easy to get to Olu Deniz (10 minutes by crazily driven nutcase bus). You can also organise any number of different excursions from Hisaronu, we enjoyed all the different things that we did. (Mud Baths, Jeep Safari, 12 Island Boat Trip, Kaya Village etc). Everything is very reasonably priced.

In summary, I will definately be visiting Hisaronu again, and I will be staying in the Tolay again. at £12 a night for double room, bed and breakfast you simply can not ask for any more.

Stayed at the Tolay few weeks ago and was really happy with it.

Location couldn't be better - matter of couple of minutes to walk to main drag in Hisaronu, but cleverly located just far enough away we got no noise from the bars at all.

The hotel was refurbished for the 2005 summer season and is lokoing great - our en suite was brand new with gorgeous tiling and powerful shower.

The staff were all friendly and helpful and made us really welcome when we were a bit nervous on our first day! Didn't eat there much other than the few days we were up in time for breakfast but the food looked absolutely fine. Pool is a good size with a shallow end for kids.

Lots of loungers and also table tennis and pool table at side of pool area. All rooms have shared balcony (with room next door) but this was no problem for us. We were on ground floor near the bar, but the noise never bothered us, and there weren't any mossies.

Fab little place, room cleaned daily by the nicest lady who was really sweet. And at £10 per room per night can't fault it!

Would definitely recommend.

We have just returned from a holiday at the Tolay hotel. We took time to research this hotel prior to departure and had read some indifferent reports but knowing that it had a 2 star rating we were not expecting much.

We arrived at 06.40, tired and chilled and were met by a teenager who opened a couple of rooms nearest to reception and showed us in. The first thing that I noticed was that the terrace door was wide open and that the room seemed sparsely furnished, three beds, a wardrobe and a bedside table. The bathroom was very cramped with a shower over a plughole in the floor right next to the toilet. We did not unpack and went straight to bed, unfortunately we were unable to get much sleep because we were so cold, the bed had become damp and the single blanket was insufficient. Our daughter’s room was similar except it had two beds and no blankets, they had to search empty rooms to find some.

At 9am I went out to look for breakfast and warm up in the sunshine. I was met by the friendly owner and shown to the breakfast table, the basic bread, margarine with slices of tomato and cucumber and Turkish tea or coffee. There were a few women in the pool area and I sat down in the sun to await the rest of the family. The hotel was clean and the bar, pool area and restaurant seemed reasonable but the facilities and rooms, especially storage, were VERY basic. The owner did say that our rooms were just temporary and that we could move to other rooms of our choice, but we decided that it was not where we wanted to stay and we later moved to a better quality hotel in which we had stayed the previous year.

The hotel is situated at the edge of the pine forest down a dirt track just off the road, not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. It is in an ideal location just a couple of minutes walk from the main street but very peaceful. Some people may have been put off with the chickens and dogs running about on the land in front of the hotel but we had no problem with this.

On our return to meet the coach for the airport transfer we met a couple who said they were the last guests and the hotel had closed for the winter, they had been told that it was to be refurbished before reopening. This hotel is fine if you want to be in a great location and intend to spend most of your time out and about, it just wasn't for us this holiday.

We stayed in the hotel towards the end of september 2007! had a fab time.

My partner and I stayed at the hotel on a b & b basis. The hotel was basic but clean with very friendly staff which we couldnt fault at all as nothing was too much trouble for them.

The hotel is a family run business with employed mananger and bar staff. On our stay we were very impressed with the staffs attitude especially with the manager Ali and bar man known as "elvis".

Overall a fab holiday with 4 theme nights for everyone which we greatly enjoyed.

The breakfast was a basic continental but overall the food was cooked to a great standard.

We are that impressed that we are not only going back next year but also taking back family.

The room clean apart from the mozzies stuck on the wall and celing.

Food basic. Location very good just out of town not too far. Staff frendly as all Turks are.

No entertainment but in a funny way we would go back if we could not get to the hotel we use now.

The hotel was basic but clean and very, very friendly. My partner was even going to gamble me at a game of pool with the manager. (Pity he lost!!!!)

It is in a good place, only a 10 minutes walk from the main area. So quiet at night.

The food was good, and entertainment was good.

lenty of sun loungers and area around the pool.

The pool was rather cold at times though but hey, we can't have everything.

Tolay hotel Hisaronu Turkey. We have stayed at this hotel 3 times, and booked direct to the hotel. Rooms are basic but spotless, the food is good, breakfast is cheese, different jams and honey with lovely fresh bread.

The location is super, just a few minutes from the centre but away from the noise.

Staff are all wonderful and remain friends for life. We are going back there again this year 2007

The tolay hotel is great .. everything is pretty basic but that doest really matter. It is in a good location, it takes you literally 2minutes and your in the town which is great and your far away enough from all the noise of the bars later on in the night if thats not your thing. The bar staff are great they are soo friendly and helpful, we have kept in touch with them all and are now family friends!
Planning on visiting hisaronu again before the end of the season and will be staying at the Tolay hotel again.

The Tolay hotel is a lovely little family run hotel, just two minutes walk from the busy main streets with the bars. When we got there, we wondered what we had let ourselves in for as it was dark and the hotel is down a small dusty road! But the owner's sons ran out and got our bags and we were shown to our room. The rooms are basic, but clean with a double bed and a single bed, the walls were painted white and bedspreads were white and all clean and fresh looking. The only thing I was disappointed with was the bathroom - could have done with a bit of a scrub-limescalecy but not actually dirty!

In the morning was a bit of a surprise-the call to the mosque over the loudspeakerwas a bit odd! Also, no hot water until at least 12noon!

Breakfast is fine, bread marmalade, jam, olives, tomatoes, cucumber and feta cheese. Anything else is extra.

The pool area at the hotel is lovely and very relaxing with a pool table, too. The whole week was lovely and teh hotel could not be better placed-any closer to the bars and the noise would be bad at night. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food on offer through the day is good too.

We were lucky with Goldtrail, but from talking to the others on our bus, I would never go with them again. Cowboys! Not a well run organisation at all. Never even met us at the arrivals door with the other tour operators-we had to ask another rep where to find them-a bit of a worry when you have no contact number for them!

Hisaronu was lovely and Olu Deniz beach is amazing! Best holiday I have been on-would recommend the hotel and Turkey to anyone!

I went to Turkey to marry and can't have picked a better hotel or resort. The staff and management can't have made our stay any better. After marrying at the blue lagoon we arrived back at the hotel to a bottle of champaigne and some music which we hadn't requested. The rooms were clean as well as the pool area. The bar staff entertained morning noon and night, they were never rude or refused to help. I will be returning in 2008 for my husbands 60th and i am so looking forward to it.

We stayed at the Tolay in Aug 2004 with our two children having a room next door, which was great. The rooms and bathroom are very basic, but it is a 2 star hotel!

We found the hotel to be clean although there were others who had problems with damp rooms. The pool and bar area are great and the staff all worked very hard and were good fun. The food was ok for snacks, not much for breakfast though.

The hotel is down a dirt road on the edge of the forest, but we found this to be fine, although mossies were aplenty being on the edge of the tree's.

The hotel is quite small and very friendly we had a great time with the other guests and the kids all got on well, this is the type of hotel where you need to get along with others and we often stayed up very late (4am) in the bar with music on pretty loud, so not for those who want peace and quiet either.

Overall we had a great time and would definately go back here, we paid silly money for 4 of us for two weeks and at the end of the day you dont go away to stay in your room all day and eat english food unless you are totally sad.

The staff did their best to ensure everyone was happy and if there was cause for compliant they did their best to sort it out very quickly. The owner nor the staff badgered anyone to spend money which is common in this resort.

Third time we have stayed at the Tolay. Basic hotel...typical Turkish breakfast...one cup of coffee, feta cheese, olives, tomatoes, cucumber, bread butter. Of course you can get full English breakfast if you want for extra charge! Rooms were cleaned every day...staff friendly and helpful. No entertainment as such...unless you class the barman as this! Really no need for entertainment as the main street of Hisaronu is literally 3 minutes walk away!! Although so near the town the beauty of this hotel is that you are away from the noise and bustle...even after midnight you cannot hear the bars that are still buzzing! Every two rooms have a shared balcony..quite small...but when we used to visit with our two boys this was a bonus...they had one room..we had next door with shared balcony! Hint....one of these rooms is always larger than the other! If you get a small room...just ask to be moved to the larger! Also....try not to get ground floor....our son was there this year and the mozzies were biting well....we went the following week and asked to be on an upper level....didn't see one mozzie!!
