| said: Cleanliness : hotel is spotless ..rooms cleaned each day with new towels and bedsheets each day
Food : Breakfast ..Plenty to choose from ranging from continental to omelette's
Lunch : again loads to choose from
Evening : bigger choice and about 16 choices of deserts
Top tip : hotel is quite expensive we originally booked HB but upgraded when we got there work out about £200 for 2 weeks. 3 soft drinks and a small beer cost about £12 so definately upgrade to AI if you can
Location : superb ..hotel has its own private beach which is manned by security guards to stop outsiders using it. All the bars surrounding the hotel get very lively. If you want a relaxing meal away from the hotel i would suggest getting the River Taxi for 7 lira each to Mamaris bay. Then get a dolmus bacj for 2 lira per person ( very good value)
Hotel has plenty of pools but beware they are all deep for younger children.
The normal fight for sunbeds too but 8.30 should be ok to get one
Hotel Staff : really friendly and very helpful
Entertainment : Day ..lots of pool activities and other games organised by the hard working animation team special mentions to Temel, Onur, Sedat and Ivana
Entertainment evening ..again some good some not so good but they do try thier very best to entertain..you all have to join in the hotel dance "shake your tailfeather"
only been home an hour and a half and already wishing we were back there

| said: The room was lovely, spacious with part of it like a living room with sofa and TV. The bathroom however need upgrading as there was mildew in the bath and shower surround area.
The food was very good, although the evening meal after a while did get a bit "samey" ie a pasta and bolognaise or tomato sauce every night, but there was still quite a lot to choose from, always a grill and chicken or duck on a spit.
The breakfasts were excellent, pancakes every day, wow! The hotel is beautifully located and very very clean. The staff can't do enough for you and if you know a little Turkish, they will speak to you in Turkish and encourage you all the way.
The entertainment team work very hard but if you don't want to join in, they leave you be. Not too pushy.

Plenty of places to eat & drink within easy walking distance. Nothing too much trouble for the staff & should've asked the maid where she learnt origami with towels.....

| said: We arrived a 5.30am .The reception area was nice and airy. No problems checking in very quick we were in our rooms within fifteen mins of arriving bags and all.
First impressions of room not good, worn furnishings, stains on carpet and walls, mildew in bathroom. However sheets and towels were clean and fresh. Rooms are in need of refurbishment , this makes them look dirty and grubby . The view from our balcony was fabulous pool sea and mountains made up for the grubby room.
Staff were friendly and efficient . Husband went to reception next day to ask for someone to reset the safe, the member of staff was in the room fixing the safe before my husband got back.
The food in the first few days was really good , however it did start to decline as the week progressed. Brekkie has good choice of fruit, cereals , pancakes, and freshley made omlettes. Evening meals were just ok couldn't really complain but wouldn't rave about it , much of the same each evening, however the salad bar had a big selection to choose from . The dessert selection was also very good.
The gardens and pool areas are well maintained and clean and tidy. Plenty of sunbeds to go round . Towels are provided for use at the pool and on the beach.
The location of the hotel is excellent , right on the beachfront and just a short stroll on the prom to the centre of Icmeler, with lots of bars, cafe's and resteraunts. If you want to visis Marmaris or anywhere else the dolmus stops at the top of the road which leads to the hotels entrance .
If you go to this hotel expecting five star rooms you will be disapointed. Be prepared for three to four star standards . On saying this I would still visit this hotel again as the rest of the hotel facilities were very good.

| said: I stayed at the Marti with my husband and two teenage children (aged 14 and 16).
The rooms were spacious, clean and basic with some modernization needed. The maids worked hard, even arranging nightwear into pretty fan shapes on the bed! Our shower broke but within 10 minutes of reporting it, it was repaired - the service was second to none. If you take advantage of the mini bar/fridge in the room which is stocked with drink, water and snacks, beware of the cost for each individual item - it mounts up and is very expensive. The maid will re-stock the next day and leave a bill - makes more sense to go to the shop just outside the hotel. Swipe cards are issued to purchase drinks from the bars but Turkish Lira was also accepted by the staff.
All the staff we came across were friendly and helpful which seems quite standard of Turkish people in general from our experience. My daughter fell ill and the reception staff organised for a doctor's visit to the room within the hour.
The pool was brilliant as it was huge and deep - good for us and our teenagers and a bonus not having to suffer smelly beach towels at the end of the holiday as the hotel provides them free of charge each day. Don't lose it though, cos you'll be charged at the end of your stay - fair enough.
The entertainment wasn't our taste, a bit too quiet, but when we did want a more relaxed evening listening to piano in the background it suited us, although the Oriental bar on-site was more up beat. Plenty of lively places in easy walking distance. Even someone playing the harp at breakfast - things like this make the hotel different from others.
Perfect location on the prom.
The food was great. As the hotel is international the catering reflects this, and we liked that as the selection was wider. My son is fussy but there was always something he would eat.
We would definitely go back to this hotel. Expensive but you get what you pay for.

Staff are very helpful, although they didn't seem to want to understand my begging for a softer mattress.
The pool area is fantastic and we never had a problem getting a well situated sun bed, even at 10am.
Breakfast is very good. You couldn't ask for much more. Plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, cooked breakfasts and pastries available.
Dinner however, was a little repetitive.. although I would like to mention, that as a vegetarian, it was one of the best catered restaurants I've ever been to.
We didn't involve ourselves in much of the hotel entertainment, but there is plenty available, especially for families with children.
Overall, a pretty good hotel! Great location right on the beach front. Not quite what I'd call a 4 or 5 star hotel, but that seems to be the norm in other hotels I've stayed in around Turkey

| said: We were very disappointed with the Hotel Marti, having expected the 1st class holiday village as it was described in TCs "Finesse" brochure.
Our room was distinctly shabby and very noisy. Bathroom tatty tosay least, and bin for soiled loo roll left all day, with NO LID! Drains stank in there too-had to spray deo before washing in mornings. As temps were just over 100 deg.,smells were VERY noticeable!
Staff mainly courtreous, except SOME in Restaurant, who we found to be really rude, as did several other guests.Re entertainment, it was extremely noisy.
The live music near the beach was always in direct competition with the very accomplished Pianist in the reception bar area. Absolutely useless trying to listen.
Forced to go 'walkies',but then Icmeler is a nightmare in evenings. Horrendous noise everywhere. You cant get any peace. We did find a small batch of little outdoor bars on the Marmaris side of the Hotel Marti which looked out over the sea and were quiet. Unfortunately, only found them 3 days before the end of our 14 days!
Would most emphatically NOT EVER go back to this hotel or Turkey ever again-nightmare!

Deb and i could not fault the 5 pools that are available with out over crowding plenty of room for everyone, the ground are fantastic to look at.
The other thing we liked was that you get free beach towels when you go to either the pool or the beach and they always smell very fresh
What more can i say the holiday overall was great and very relaxing and i hope that if you are contenplating going to the marti that you have a good time as we did

| said: This hotel is probably one of the best hotels in Turkey and believe me I have stayed in a few. The hotel is clean and spacious and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble, the maids do a great job of tending to the room and always leave flower petals on the bed which is a nice touch and on the last day she even made a boat out of the towels with a sign in it saying bon voyage.
The hotel is in a fantasic location right on the beach and near the canal area where there are shops and restaurants. The food can sometimes be a bit repetative but what we did was if we didn't fancy eating in we ate out because it is so cheap to do that.
I would definately go back to this hotel and would recommend it to other people.

| said: This hotel is supposed to be 4/5 star I would say it is a 3 but maybe the ratings are different for Turkey.
Our room was lovely we were fortunate to be on the very end of one of the blocks so we had 2 balconies with great views and it was huge it was clean if just a little shabby, maid service every day with clean towels and bed linen changed every 3 days.
The public areas were kept very clean pools were lovely and beautiful gardens.
The hotel is right on the beach which has its own section and sunbeds are free and towels are provided.
Our only disappointment was with the food starters and desserts are lovely main courses were pretty awful and catered for other nationalities.
Chefs barbequed outside but the chicken was uncooked still pink inside burnt on the outside. We ended up eating out some of the evening during our stay.
Breakfast is mainly continental no bacon, beans, or mushrooms but you can get a fried egg or omelette cooked while you wait but be prepared to queue.
Waiter service for ordering drinks with evening meal very slow waited most evenings 20 minutes and a couple of times over half an hour. They may get quicker as the season progresses.
Beach is gravely but very clean it was not at all crowded the time we were there so it was lovely and relaxing.
There is a lovely hairdressers who do a great manicure and pedicure very relaxing.

| said: Arrived at the hotel in the early hours (me, hubby, two children (9 and 13)and Mum)and we were greeted very respectfully and shown to our rooms which were spacious, clean and a view to die for over the hotel grounds, sea and mountains beyond. A lovely touch was a wrapped baguette sandwich waiting for each of us in case we were hungry.
The hotel is everything it says in the brochure and more. Clean, spacious and idyllic surroundings (including grand piano playing sedately in one of the very comfortable outdoor lounge areas.)
Food was half-board only which didn't suit us - very large buffet style dining areas and the food was sometimes cold by the time you sat down with it. Plenty of variety but nothing to suit two faddy children and we found it a bit boring. This may be just because in previous years we have been self catering and loved the variety of the different restaurants on offer and rapport with the waiters. The waiters in the hotel were very professional but a bit formal.
Whilst we were there my son, Alex met with an accident with the hotel wall and required 4 stitches in his head! The staff at the hotel were fantastic. They arranged for transport to the hospital, we were seen straight away, stitches in and back to the hotel within the hour. The hotel doctor was able to remove the stitches herself 5 days later to save us a trip back to the hospital. Extremely friendly, caring and efficient.
Cleaning lady in the bedrooms did a wonderful job with fresh towels every day and bed linen every couple of days. Mum's bed was a bit hard so the cleaning lady put a couple of towels on the mattress and said if it's no better she would put more on. However, they did the job perfectly and Mum was really comfortable.
The location is second to none - on the beach front with private beach and beach towels provided - handy for restaurants, bars and the lovely canal area but not in the dead centre of the din coming from some of the livelier bars!
Entertainment for the children was great (Rob joined in too!)Once we'd identified who the animation team were - that was more a fault of the induction/welcome meeting people. More info required of who's who and what's on would have been great. When we did finally get to grips with our surroundings and met up with the animation team they were amazed that they'd not seen us before and we only had a week left!
Just beware the hotel card system which you produce everytime you want to buy anything in the hotel: drinks, snacks, etc. and pay for when you check out. You lose track of the cost (which is obviously higher than outside) but we were surprised how much it amounted to! Also, a tiny point which seems petty but considering the cost of the hotel and the fact that it is 5* half board - I found it a bit annoying that you had to pay extra for fresh orange juice at breakfast and for the coffee at the evening meal (although coffee was included in breakfast! - work that one out).
Having said all this, we would definitely return to this lovely hotel if we could go B&B so we could get the best of both worlds. Unfortunately, B&B is not an option at the moment.

| said: Stayed at Marti Resort hotel for 2 weeks; a family holiday with 2 adults, teenager and 10yr old. Although the hotel and it's grounds were beautiful, we were a bit disappointed about our room. We arrived at 3.15am very tired, and were taken to our room.
Two single beds (very hard matresses) pushed together were fine for myself and my husband, but the sofa bed had not been made up for my 10 year old and there was no bed at all for my 13 year old.
Staff very quickly brought another bed in for him, but this was a real squeeze and we had to rearrange some furniture to make it fit. We asked if we could change to a larger room, but were told the hotel was completely full.
The minibar fridge did not work, and although staff promptly replaced it, the new one had a door that wouldn't close properly, so that was no use either. Next day we discovered the safety box didn't work, and staff replaced the batteries to power the combination keypad. After that, the shower curtain fell down after our first shower, as it was being held onto the rail at one end with a lump of tissue. The rail was coming away from the ceiling because it had been nailed on and not screwed in. Staff came (again) and did a temporary repair to fix the rail back onto the ceiling.
After the cleaner had been in the next day (who did a great job) I noticed the bedside table was crooked. I think she had moved it to use the lamp plug for her vacuum cleaner. When I tried to push it back into place, a piece of skirting board fell off the wall; it had been held in place only by the bedside cabinet. I didn't bother calling the staff about that.
The hotel facilities, food, entertainment and staff were all very good, but for the money we paid we were very cramped in a room which really needed updating. We would go to the hotel again, but only if we could be assured a family room.

| said: We could not fault the cleanliness of this hotel. The rooms were cleaned everyday, with clean sheets and clean towels supplied daily. The rooms were very spacious and were nice and cool to come into at the end of some very hot days, especially if you left your key fob in the slot which kept the air-conditioning going!
Eating in the hotel was wonderful! The weather was so good and we ate every single meal outside. We thought the food was extremely good, although possibly not as good as a 5-star in Spain. This is typical of Turkey and not a reflection on the hotel.
The location of the hotel was excellent. The beach was literally just outside the hotel gate and the promenade took you to a vast selection of bars and restaurants, only a very short distance from the hotel. Drinks in the hotel were quite expensive compared with those outside, but this is to be expected as this is a 5-star hotel.
The hotel grounds are very spacious with four large swimming pools.
The staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. The animation team were particularly friendly and fun and our two teenage children are still in contact with them now via their mobiles and e-mail!
Most of the evening entertainment was performed and provided by the animation team - we would have liked a few more professional shows. However, this wasn't a major problem because there was so much going on just outside the hotel.
We have always said in the past that we would never go back to the same hotel twice. However, we had such a great holiday at the Marti, we would seriously consider going back again.
Entertainment during the day was excellent with plenty of activities organised by the animation team, including games in the pool everyday.

food plentiful but of mediocre quality except for the excellent fruit and fresh bread

There was so much to do if you wanted to and although I've never been one for taking part in pool games - there was no stopping me - it was great fun. You could get fresh beach towels every day and the hotel maid was lovely - to the point of telling some workmen off for disturbing my son whilst he was having an afternoon nap!!
Food was great with a wide choice and the novelty of having fresh omelettes and pancakes cooked to your own personal specification each morning - the children loved it.
Having previously been heard to say that I would never visit Turkey, ever, we now rate all hotels by the Marti and would definitely go again, although I would be sad if it didn't match up to the first visit.
It was everything we could hope for in a holiday - and more.

The staff and the animation team were great. They were so helpful and cheerful!
I have three children ages 14, 12 and 9 (not to forget mum who is 73 who came along with us and loved it) and they all had the most wonderful holiday! The best ever!
We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The haggling in the shops gets you down a bit but that's all part of Turkey. I understand the authorities are enforcing a new law next year trying to stop all the hustling, let's hope they do.

| said: This was our third visit to Turkey, our second time to Icmeler. Last time we stayed in the Hotel Fortuna, right next door to the Marti. The Marti is without question the best hotel in Icmeler, probably one of the best in Turkey.
The hotel is extensive to say the least and has been expanded over the years so there are three main accommodation buildings all linked together and all built to the same high (Turkish) standard. In addition there are a handful of deluxe apartments. There are four sizeable exterior swimming pools as well as an indoor pool adjacent to the Sauna, Turkish Baths & Fitness rooms. One of the main pools is used several times each day for pool activities, leaving the other three pools undisturbed for those who just want to relax.
You can order your drinks and other refreshments from unobtrusive waiters, from the comfort of your shaded sun beds, all of which are well spaced out so that you are not encroached upon by the adjacent guests. The same applies to the private beach right next to the resort. You don't even have to pack beach towels as you collect fresh beach towels every time you visit either the beach or the areas by the pools.
Don't bee fooled by photos of other hotels which can show very selective photographs. Look at the various web sites and you will see aerial photographs of the hotel which clearly show the size and near perfect layout of the extensive and immaculate grounds. When looking at photographs of hotels you usually get what you see and no more. Many photographs show swimming pools with the pool running off the edge of the picture, you can almost guarantee that the pool extends another two inches and no more although the suggestion is that the pool is bigger, the same applies to photographs of rooms. With the Marti you get all that you see and more besides.
Some of the travel companies mention that they have part-time air conditioning, they don't, its on 24 hours every day, at least it is if you leave your key fob in the slot provided.
The service is unbeatable, part of this is due to the professional management of the hotel. Whilst in Icmeler you may notice slogans to the effect that "your happiness is our future". It's their work ethic, if the tourists aren't happy then they won't come back for more.
The dining area is in fact three areas, two adjoining areas under cover but open sided to allow a gentle breeze to waft through and one further area fully open to the glorious weather.
The choice of food is as comprehensive as we have found anywhere in Turkey, although don't expect milk to taste like that in the UK and the "beef sausages" are only miniature frankfurters. This isn't a reflection upon the hotel it's simply what's available in Turkey. All of the other food is excellent and the choice is extensive and exceedingly well presented.
Having spent two weeks at the Marti there were only two minor annoyances :
At the edge of the resort they have built a new stage for entertaining the masses and hold musical shows every evening, which is great if this is what you want, otherwise back at the main part of the hotel there are a couple of well designed bar areas, by one of which there is (at least during the peak season) a pianist playing every night. This is almost idyllic, the only drawback is that whilst the stage is at least 100 yards away the sound from the evening shows swamps across the hotel because instead of using a large number of small loudspeakers directed at the audience they use a handful of large loudspeakers which spread the sound everywhere.
The only other negative comment relates to the beds, whilst they are all of a decent size (length & width) the mattresses are the hardest we have ever had the misfortune to sleep on. As the service is so good this was easily resolved by asking the management to swap the mattresses for a softer variety, so if you do decide to stay at this hotel then you may wish to ask for the mattresses changed upon or prior to your arrival.
Overall result --- Icmeler is the best resort we have found in Turkey and we will definitely be staying at the Marti again.
