| said: Although we were booked in on a self catering basis, we have dined in the El Greco restaurant and the food was excellent, the rooms are cleaned daily, and are of a very good standard, staff are very helpful and friendly, please note a deposit of approx £100 or 100 Euros is required when you check in, this can be paid in cash or left with a credit card, the room is checked immediately on you vacating it, and causes no problem at all, this was my first time in the El Greco and the location can not be beaten, the beach is staight across the road, and would certainly book the same apartments again - faultless.

| said: We had a two bedroom appartment. The rooms were spacious and all cooking facilities were available and clean. The rooms were cleaned daily and to a good standard. The staff were friendly. The hotel pool was cleaned every morning. The position of the hotel is excellent as it is at sea level as opposed to most others which are on the side of a mountain and meant having a taxi to get to and from your hotel or walking up or down many, many, many steps.
There is no bar or entertainment in the appartment building, but there is a restaurant attached for which you get a voucher for 10 per cent off the bill, although the prices their were on the expensive side.
The holiday brochure says there are 2 pools, but the second pool is exclusively for use by people stopping in the Bungalows.
With regard to the £100 deposit, this was the only thing about the place we didn't like as it assumes you will cause damage and the housekeeper checked our room before refunding.
Overall we would highly recommend the El Greco and if we go to Puerto Rico again that's the place we would stay.

| said: We have just returned from the El Greco on 7/5/07 after 2 weeks of pure bliss.
The El Greco is by far the greatest accommodation we have stayed in to date and wouldn't think twice about returning should we chose to visit Gran Canaria again.
The rooms were spotlessly clean, well equiped and cleaned by the maids who replaced towels daily.
The room deposit was not a suprise to us since we had read of this before we travelled on this site and others but were pleasantly suprised to find we could pay in Sterling if we preferred (£100) which left us more Euros to spend whilst there.
The staff were all more than helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
We only visited the El Greco restaurant once (as we mainly ate in the Commercial Center of an evening) but although it did take longer than expected for the food to arrive, when it did it was fantastic. They also do pizza to take away should you fancy eating in your room. The 10% discount is welcome too!
The location of the El Greco is perfect, directly on the beach and only a 10 min walk to the Commercial Center.
We mirror everyone else's view that should you be considering the El Greco as a possible place to stay, dont consider it for too long because you might miss out!

The room we stayed in was great 2 adults and 1 child The rooms were cleaned daily and even pots got washed and cleared if left out. There were fresh towels everyday the cleanliness of the appartment was great.
We were self catering everything you needed was there to use. We went out everynight for food and stayed around the pool at the bar for lunch which did great snacks the omelette's were very nice.
At the front of the appartments was a resturant which was good for food with 10% off.
On a night for food the San Miguel bar in the centre for good cheap food often a que to get in.
The appartment location was good opposite the beach and harbour at either side, walking distance to the main area where the shops and bars were.
The hotel staff were great nice and friendly and very helpful. No entertainment at these apartments.

| said: We had booked this holiday on an allocation on arrival to say the least we where delighted with the hotel especially as we heard what some people had paid for the week there.
We were given a 2 bedroom suite with master room ensuite fully air conditioned which was a bonus as it was very warm there. The food at the pool side bar was very nice and good value plus the staff where very nice.
The bar in the hotel was closed for renovation. I would go back to these apartments again as they where a great location directly across the road from the beach and only a few minutes walk to the resort centre.

| said: We stayed in the Suites. We got an excellent deal and I had heard the El Greco were very good so jumped at the chance to stay there.
The Suite was huge, very big for just two. We had two rooms, two bathrooms. Which was fantastic. The kitchen had, toaster, microwave, coffee maker. Kettle, loads of cutlery etc. The electric hob only two rings but that was all we wanted. We had full aircon, which was a bonus as it was very hot. Those in the apartments were not so lucky, but I think you can hire a fan.
Our suite was overlooking the fountain in the garden, it's a bit noisy but very beautiful. The gardener and all the ground staff there work very hard to keep it looking beautiful.
The cleaners came in everyday and were the best we have ever encountered. They put away our washed ware, which was a bit embarrassing, but when we said she didn't need to do that she just said it was ok. You got clean towels everyday.
There is a small pool to the side of the garden and this is where I mainly went. The bigger pool upstairs was just a bit too noisy.
The food in the snack bar upstairs was very good.
All the staff we met were very friendly. Always gave you a smile.
The food in the restaurant is very good and you get 10% discount. The Cantina was closed when we were there. The rep was nice but we didn't see much of her because we didn't need too.

| said: This hotel was worth every penny. The rooms were very spacious and was very clean.
The staff were very nice and even the maid even gave you a nice 'hello' when you saw her, and the'd be smiling all the time!
Our balcony overlooked the water feature in its gardens, pool and beach! Talk about first class, we cameself catering and still felt like we were been treated like royalty!
You only had to walk across mildly busy road to the beach. And it was about ten mins to the nearest shopping centre! But taxi were always available. Just at the front of the hotel was a lovely set out bar that played Irish music. Can't be all bad!
Also across the road, was a whole line of English bars serving 'the traditional English brekkie'...If I remember correctly it was called 'Tom and Jerry's'?!?
Recommending this holiday to mainly couples as not much entertainment for kids at the hotel, but rest was marvellous!

| said: Third visit back to this wonderful accommodation, getting better every year, more work always being done but never intrusive.
Pool was being painted in the week we stayed there but it closed only one hour early each day.
Staff are professional and nothing is a problem for them and always greet you with a smile.
Pool side snack bar which opens from 0830am to about 1830 pm good choice of food on same, two restaurants on site excellent value and great food.
Located just yards from the beach and about 10 min walk to the main shopping area and taxi's outside the main entrance night and day and very cheap.
The El Greco is spotless and we cannot wait to visit again

| said: Spacious, comfortable and in an excellent location literally yards from the sandy beach which is a bonus for this resort as it is quite hilly.
First impressions as you walk through a bright spacious Reception to check-in are WOW! Reception staff were clearly spoken and pleasant at all times and explained all the services that they provide (including currency exchange - 4% on Euro travellers cheques).
We had booked one of the suites and have to say that they are simply one of the best that we have ever stayed in. Extremely well laid out, spacious, very clean and modern. Everything is supplied in the kitchen - microwave, coffee maker, iron & ironing board, toaster, electric kettle, etc. Masses of wardrobe and drawer space in the bedroom and more than enough room in the shower room for two adults (both tall individuals) to get ready at the same time.
Pleasant and friendly Maid Service every day with towels and bed linen changed every other day. Gardener attended to the terrace (which is kitted out with Lloyd Loom table and chairs) and small garden to the front of the suite.
We had to pay a 100 Euro deposit which was returned at the end of our stay with no questions asked along with the safety deposit key deposit.
Pool was a nice size and was religously cleaned each morning with usage times for the pool being strictly adhered to. The Pool Bar was really great for breakfast and snacks but closed at 6.30pm. Happy hour on local beverages was between 4 and 5pm.
Claire, the First Choice rep, was a little darling and didn't treat you any differently if you didn't book any trips with her. She actually came to the suite to let us know the departure details even though she advised everyone in the welcome meeting to keep an eye on the board.

| said: We booked 2* allocated on arrival in gran canaria for june for 5, When we arrived at the airport we were told we had been upgraded to 3* and were staying at the el greco appartments in puerto rico.
You have to pay deposit when you arrive of 150 euro.
Appartments are very clean and tidy, cleaned everyday towels changed everyday, nice kitchen area with 2 rings, fridge, dining area and sink and all equipment you need. large living area with tv and 2 large sofas ,nice size bathroom with shower in bath. 2 bedrooms nice size 1 double, 2 single and camp bed in living area.Large safe deposit box in 1 bedroom and plenty of wardrobe space and balcony area with plastic table and chairs. No air con but you can hire fans for about 15 euro per week.Staff were nice as well
Pool was of a nice size kept very clean, nice poolside bar were you could have snacks and icecreams for children, free sun loungers.
These appartments were directly opposite the beach witch was clean but lots of rocks in sea area so we stay by pool. Resturants all around and just down the road was a small shopping centre and harbour, there was a spar shop in the area as well to get what you need but we eat out and spent about £700 pounds for one week for five of us,there is a lovely chinese above shopping centre food was fantastic.
Aii in all a very nice place to stay and would go back to these appartments again, only thing wrong is the people on the streets trying to sell you timeshare but if you tell them were to go they will. These appartments in our opinion were best in the area.
