if you have no standards stay at this hotel otherwise aviod it.

| said: I stayed at the blue bays hotel in September 07 with my partner and 12yr old son the flight with flyjet was delayed for nearly 3 hrs.
Once arrived at the hotel was really pleased hotel was spotlessly clean got all inclusive bands and even though was booked as 3 we had to tell hotel staff to get wristband for my son.
Was shown to our room and again no bed there for him I know its only a camp bed but they knew we were coming went and got bed for him I made that up by this time it was nearly 7am got into bed the welcome meeting was for 10.30 no chance of us ever making that was really pleased with the room we were on the ground floor so couldn’t leave patio doors open and wasn’t told about the air con so sweated like mad for 2 nights until holiday maker told us.
The food is disgusting if you enjoy salad there is enough salad to feed the 5000 but hot food was appalling although did have 1or 2 nice meals there every all inc I’ve ever been on have food all day but this is not the case.
Did find bar staff did serve the men way before they got to women and was ignored many times.
The entertainment guys do a sterling job not easy at times but did make us all laugh.
Defo go back but unsure if would go all inclusive as that was disappointing.
We all had a ball on the 2 slides but should be open all day.

The security is a joke we were awoken one night by a bar man standing in our room watching us we got security and we were told we were lying!!
you can not get a sun bed after 6 am!!! even tho there are signs up saying its forbidden until after 9am!!
i would never ever go back here the all inclusive drinks are a joke! and well unless you want to get jiggy with the bar men... as this is all they are after!!..... if they didnt get what they wanted then you would be treated like dirt!!
there were drugs being sold by the bar staff .
all in all this was the worst hotel i have ever stayed and would not want anyone to expierience what we had to!!
and to think i was worried about flying with onur air!!! got they were brill!!!
shame the hotel wasnt!!!

The pool was very nice, but must point out we never saw any one cleaning it.
As a 4 star rating ,i would give more of a 3.We have never known apartments to have so many complaints. We wont be returning to the bluebays .

| said: The only good thing about this hotel is the location which is brilliant.
The food was so disgusting that we ate out more than we ate in. If you dont mind your kids eating nothing but chips for the whole holiday then maybe this is the hotel for you.If you like cold battered brussel sprouts then maybe you will like it here .
Half way through our first week there was poo in the pool it was reported to a member of staff about 20 mins later he turned up with a net and scooped it out and expected people to jump straight back in this happened four times in the space of a hour it was disgusting. As i wouldnt let my son go in the water we thought we would try the indoor pool which again had poo in the corner which had also been smeared up the wall it looked like it had been there for quite some time as it was a dried in to the floor and walls,i reported this to reception which again took ages for someone to come and clean it up.
Also make sure your alarm is set for around 4am to garantee a sunbed i sat and watched people throwing towels down from their balconies at 9.30pm so their partners could put them on the beds for the following day.
Drinks are a total rip off for all inclusive they give you a tiny plastic beaker like you would take on a camping trip. They only seem to give ice to the self catering people aswell unless you ask for it then they will give you one ice cube.
This was my first ever all inc and i am sure to say i will never try it again my idea of all inc was the resturant would be open for you to grab a snack all day this hotel opens theirs for a few hours so again set your alarms for breakfast if you are not in the resturant by 9.30am at the latest then you will get nothing to eat as they close at 10.
we went on a trip and didnt get back until 9.30pm the resturant closed at 10 but they wouldnt allow us in as we were covered in mud from the trip we done so by the time 3 of showered and got changed we missed our dinner so then had to take the little one out for something to eat as they wouldnt give us anything to take to our room.
Thankfully this hasnt put us off going to marmaris we came home a booked up for nexy year already in a lower stared but much better hotel

| said: I'm 13 years old and I'm reporting on my stay in the Blue Bays Apartments. We visited late July - early August and, obviously, it was very busy there with many people; children, Dutch families, adults, teenagers etc. The facilities there: the slides, bar, indoor pool, "gym", sauna etc, were not great. The slides were good, but, children will go on them when they are "closed" and may get burnt like I did from them as no water runs down them at the "closed" times and the slides are in the sun and get very hot. The indoor pool was freezing cold, the "gym" consisted of two machines in a room, as far as I know the sauna was never open and the bar had friendly staff but it took a while for you to get served unless you put your money on show. The pool was sometimes warm but as they were tall buildings around the hotel, the sun was not on the pool. They were not enough sunbeds around the pool and my father had to get up at 6am to get the sunbeds and eventually we just had to put our towels down when we came back at night like many other people. The maids were excellent and very understanding and we always got plenty of toilet roll and enough towels, if they came to clean and you were still in the room, as they put their card in the door it would tell them that somebody was still in the room so they couldn't go in. The beds in the room, although, were not very comfortable at all and sleeping on the sofa bed is like sleeping on a bed of needles. The "kitchen" consisted of two rings, a kettle, a sink and bad fridge. I would also recommend that you get air conditioning, even though it is expensive, it is a must-have as it can be sweltering in the apartments without it. During the day they are many activities to do; morning gym, aqua gym, belly dancing, darts, water polo etc. Also, a few problems with the pool and pool side, we came back to the hotel one day and went to get in the pool to be told that somebody had poohed in the pool and in the indoor pool and smeared the pooh up the wall and it wasn't cleaned, at the pool side, there is a large drain and some very slippery tiles, people slipped on those tiles and reports were made and nothing was done about it. As we never ate in the hotel, I can't comment on the standard of the food but the food in the "Il Primo" bar was nice. I will recommend very highly the restaurant owned over the other side of the road of the hotel called Piccadilly restaurant, it has great food, great service and great entertainment and the staff are great and very helpful. I would also recommend Faros The Brothers beach bar on the beach front; good entertainment and it was very amusing to see "Captain Jack Sparrow" the barman! It was great that the beach was just around the corner to the hotel and the sunbeds were free as long as you ate and drank at the place behind you.
Marmaris is great with the temperature being lovely and warm all day and night! The Turkish people are very hospitable and nice and only too glad to be at your service. Hopefully we are going back to Marmaris again next year but I am not sure if we are going to the Blue Bays, the Deluxe Hotel looks very nice at the staff there are a lot nicer and friendlier. I would rate this hotel a 3*.

| said: The hotel is in a perfect location & is spotlessly clean with a brilliant atmosphere! But there are many negative points I'd like to make!
The all inclusive package is the worst I've ever experienced! There is a snack bar, but the food has to be paid for! There is ice cream, but again it isn't part of the all inclusive, I've never known that before!
The 'locally produced' drinks only include soft drinks, gin, vodka, whisky & watery beer! I've never been on an all inclusive where you have to pay for vodka, martini etc! also' if you're all inclusive be prepared to take 2nd place to those on self-catering, they get 1st priority at the bar, because they're paying!
Be prepared to wake at 4.30am if you want the sunbeds that catch the sun from 11am till 6pm, the rest only catch the sun for about 4hrs!
Although the hotel is immaculate, there seems to be a problem with the pools! I've never known so many people with ear infections after being in the pool. Also' the amount of people with severe stomach problems was quite worrying! plus our last 3 days were spent watching a man walk round the pool with a net, fishing out lumps of excrement, apparently due to a drainage problem which had already closed the indoor pool 4 days earlier!
Who wants to go in the pool after that? One word of advice - if you hire one of the safes behind reception, remove the safe number out of your key fob! The safes need a master key along with your personal key but when you ask for the master key no-one asks for proof of your ID.
I put it to the test 5 times with keys from other guests & was able to obtain the master key all 5 times, so if your key gets stolen the culprit will have instant access to your belongings!!!
We had a great holiday but wouldn't go back, it was only half the quality of the hotel we went to in Turkey last year!

All inclusive food is pretty good although they do not cater very well for children.
The hotels location is really good 1 min walk from supermarket and its only a 5 minute walk to the beach front. The hotel is on a main road next to a lot of nice restaurants
What can I say about the hotel staff they were great especially the bar staff, Every one was really nice
Entertainment was great different every night also there was a mini disco for kids before adults entertainment the animation team were professionals and were very good with kids and also with adults. There is entertainment in the day like waterpolo aqua strectchs and aqua aerobics.
I would definitly visit this hotel again I am looking in to going again next year I would highly recommend this hotel.

The food was nice but there wasn't much variety. Great if you like salad. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is on the main street, close to loads of restaurants, shops and supermarket. Also close to the beach.
Entertainment was a bit scarce at the hotel but I think that may have been due to the fact that we went at the very last week of the season.
Swimming pools were good and there are pleanty of sun loungers to go around.
Would visit again!

| said: We arrived at this hotel at 3am in the morning ,it was very clean and the bell boy showed us to our room.
The room was on on the top floor and you couldnt swing a cat in there but it was ok .
In the brochure this hotel is supposed to be a 5 star its more like a 2+ its very basic and rooms are small.
We got up the next day for are breakfast and the food was disgusting and we were scared to sit down beacuse the hotel is full of people who had there own places. The room was very hot an the air con is around £50 pound a week!.
Blue Bays is in a good location and very close to the 10cm beach .The staff we found to be very unhelpful and arrogant unless your a Russian person .We never saw any entertainment bacause we tried to stay out most of the time.
The pool and pool area was ok apart from the constant Turkish rave music.
We would go back to Turkey but not to this hotel.

On the other hand the cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable and the maids more than earnt their wages. Clean towels every day and apartment was spotless on their departure.
The location of the hotel was excellent with good bars and restaurants within walkin distance .
The staff I found to be very amused by my complaints and quite rude. Entertainment ( what entertainment unless you want to do the chicken dance every night ) oh and please take note very important KEEP A EYE ON YOUR DAUGHTERS ...... oh and sons for that matter.
I wont be visiting this hotel ever again I can safely say , although I would like to say that the Guest Relations lady Yvonne was very helpful as we didnt see our rep in 2 weeks , although I had made complaints about the rude guests towards my children, and the over-keen staff that showed too much interest in my 12 yr old daughter for my liking .

We were showed to our room and found it very basic indeed, the baby's cot was falling apart and was fitted with a matress to a single bed, apart from that it was clean. Our maid Millie did everything she could to help us from getting us a new cot to leaving grapes and fresh flowers.
The swimming pools were freezing but I didn't stop the kids they loved it and also the water slide was excellent.
Evening entertainment was adequate but repetitive every night but again the kids loved it ecspecially the chicken dance the entertainment team did there best.
Staff were mostly friendly with the exception of reception staff, and the hotel is in a good location.
If you want a quiet holiday don't go to Blue Bay as the nightly entertainment is very loud but on the whole we enjoyed it the kids want to go back next year but we will try somewhere else

The hotel cleanliness was good, they come every day to clean up your room.
The food was good, it was very different.
The location was good, near by the beach, but you had to take the buss to Marmaris Centre.
The hotel staff was very friendly we had a amazing time with all of them and the entertainment was very good. Every night something else, we stayed a fortnight and then you see some acts for the 2nd time.
I would defenitely go again to this Hotel. To be honest. I go this year again.

When we went for drinks earlier on in the night we got glasses but when we went back upto the bar later on we got plastic cups. May I suggest you dont let the waiters take your glasses and put your drink from your plastic cup in the class as sometimes on the plastic ones they hurt your lip.

Bad Points ..
Reception Staff must be related to Frosty the Snowman, efficient but ice cold.
Not much entertainment in Hotel, big deal you are a 5 minute walk from the beach and bars.
Maid service for us was exceptional Maid saw birthday cards for my wife and when we came back she had decorated the room for us.Make sure you get aircon....you will need it.
Across the road from the front entrance is Piccadilly Restaurant good food reasonable price and good staff, friendly and will look after you.

| said: Before I start to moan, I would like to say I have already booked to go back to same hotel in 2007, these are just minor complaints, overall hotel was really good, but could do with some improvements. It was our 3rd visit to marmaris, but 1st time in this hotel.
Arrived at hotel at 5 am, we were told bell boy would take us to our room, he came back from taking other guests, and went and sat down behind reception, after 10 mins my husband got impatient and decided to go find the room ourselves, halfway down corridor bellboy caught up, and took us in lift down to our room, which was still being cleaned!! Room was on pool level which was great.
Entertainment was ok if you were under 10ish, the only daytime entertainment was a game of darts, and water polo. Nightly entertainment not much better after mini disco (which was good) 1 night the entertainment was 1 game of bingo which lasted around 2 hrs. Entertainment team was great if you were either under 10 or female, young and blonde.
Bar staff were really friendly but the routine for getting a drink needs attention, you queue to order, then take your receipt to a barman,(if you can find one)after queuing again to get your very small drink served in small plastic beakers which have sharp edges that cut your lips.
My hubby is a pie and chips man! And even he enjoyed the food in restaurant. We only had to go out 1 night for food cos there was nothing he would eat, although we chose to go out 2 or 3 times to go to favourite bars from previous years.
We did have a shortage of towels, after 10 days without clean towels I asked cleaners 2 days to change them, on the 12th day I threw dirty towels into corridor (before they walked out) and later that day they were replaced by the raggiest, roughest, tattiest off white towels I have ever seen, that was my punishment for throwing them out I think. We were also without loo rolls for a day and a half, luckily I had plenty of tissues. Last 2 days of holiday cleaners really made an effort, wanting a tip perhaps, after the towel fiasco they didn’t get one.
Location was excellent, which is 1 of the reasons we're going back there, it is close to everything. And on the main road to catch a dolmus. As usual we brought loads of copy clothes back, and had to buy hold alls to put it all in. cant wait till next year.

| said: We arrived at Blue Bays early evening and were quite impressed initially. We were shown to our room on the 5th floor above the restaurant by the pushy bell boy. On entering the room we found it to be in the roof space with a gable end. The bed was no higher than 18 inches and the ceiling sloped. As my husband is 6'2 this was not a good start. We then found that the shower was not attached to the wall nor was there a plug - not that you would get enough hot water for a bath even if you wanted it. At this point I went downstairs and requested a room change. The receptionist was quite sharp with me saying that my problems were maintenance issues which could be fixed. After a few choice words she agreed to a room change the next morning. The second room was 200% better than the first and oddly the other side of the hotel which seemed to have more germans and turkish guests.
The food was ok - we didnt go hungry although did get a little same old same old towards the end of the fortnight. The restaurant drove us nuts as it was more like a free for all, when they say buffet style they mean it, even as far as collecting your own drinks from the bar! It can be difficult to get a seat in the no smoking area, which is a quarter the size of the smoking area. As far as all inclusive is concerned I would not stay at Blues Bays all inclusive again. AI guests are treated as second class, having to queue for half measure drinks in plastic cups. Another guest and I spoke to the bar manager half way through the holiday complaining of the difference in service, strangly enough things changed after that and one barman looked after us for the rest of the holiday. Most of the bar staff are friendly, sometimes a little too friendly with younger female guests.
The location is second to none. 5 minutes walk to the beach and nightlife (great karaoke bar - turtle bar), dalmus on the doorstep.
Reception staff could be a little icy. Maid was lovely, restaurant staff hit and miss. Bar staff great. Animation team were friendly but nothing seemed to be organised apart from mini disco for kids every night.
Entertainment was minimal. Sure that it was bad to force us out of the hotel for the evening. Boys against girls night was good fun, and the karaoke. Avoid the bingo like the plague - never known a game to go on for so long.
I would probably stay at Blue Bays again on half board basis, or maybe try the deluxe behind it.

However rooms very basic need coat of paint, first room bed broken, moved to another room next day not much better, air conditioning very poor, fridge poor working order, toilet dripping constantly, however maids in every day to clean make beds etc.
Hotel reception staff helful, maids friendly, but certain security staff in hotel were arrogant. Tried laundry service expensive however not impressive, clothes returned with rust marks.
Entertainment consisted of water polo in pool and 1 pool table. Karaoke some nights in bar that aside good location for beach and beach bars. Hope this helps.

Bring your own loo roll they are in short supply.
Staff most of them ignorant except for few at the pacha bar.
Entertainment pathetic. Belly dancer/sword dancer nearly sliced my son's face as she danced around the tourists
most of animation team were only interested in themselves not kids.
Try and find kids club if you do let me know where it is cos we couldn't find it!
It put me off going back to Turkey.

| said: This was my first time to Turkey, but I was travelling with my Mum for whom this was her sixth visit (first time for both to this hotel/apartment)
Blue Bays was a plesant surprise, and appeared to be very clean, with friendly reception staff. However the self catering appartments are in need of a refurb, and most overlook other hotels in close proximity. Whilst our room was a good size, the furniture was very basic, with a very small balcony and tatty furniture. The railings were in desperate need of a paint job. Nonetheless the cleaners were friendly and did a good job of keeping the rooms very clean.
The hotel itself is set on the main Marmaris - Icmeler road, approximately 20 minutes walk from centre of Marmaris where the Bazaar's are located selling very good quality 'Turkey originals'!! However be prepared for high pressure sales ;0(. If you would rather not take the leisurely walk along the main road where shops and restaurants are plentiful, due to the hotel's location, it is very easy to get on a Dolmus right outside hotel which will cost you approx. 20p.
Approx. 250yrds along main road (in each direction), is a side street taking you back towards the beach - approximately a 5 minute walk. Lovely beach - sunbeds are free, but you will be expected to purchase your drinks and food from the restaurant behind. Whilst all the beach bar staff are very friendly, they won't let you past without first having a chat. If you fancy a nice walk, the promenade directly along side the beach here takes you all the way from Icmeler to Marmaris
The resort area itself is very lively and many bars are open until the early hours meaning that younger crowds of single sex groups often do not return until dawn. Whilst there is no disturbance from the bars themselves due to the hotel's location, the noise from returning guests did cause some problems which the hotel were reluctant to address.
However, I would still probably recommend the apartments for their overall location. It also has a lovely pool and comfortable reception area.

| said: We arrived 30th June at about 5 ish afternoon the hotel looked like it did in the book clean and modern, we were all helped with are cases to are rooms after a little mix up with the rooms which was sorted quickly.
We all went down for dinner, I must admit we were all dreading the food cause we had read some bad reports on it, we were all in shock the food was brilliant we couldnt stop eating for the two weeks we were there never the same food daily always different, only the breakfast we didnt like, so we all went over the road to piccadillys for the full English breakfast, worked out about £1.60 each and the food was good.
The air conditioning was brilliant somenights even waking up cold but what a godsend when it was in the 40s in the day. Maids would come in daily with clean towels and make the beds and were friendly, all the staff were helpfull some didn't understand English but you could always find one that could, they worked long hours but they always had time for you we had a good laugh with them especially around the pool, I think we chucked most in the water fully clothed, but they had a laugh with us, we are definitely going back next year.

| said: We stayed in the apartments, 2 of them between the 4 of us, both a great size, really to big for 2 people. Air conditioning was £40 for two weeks and the safe was £20 – these are located downstairs behind reception, not sure what to make of that. Maid was in every day with clean towels, at about 2.30 in the afternoon which was much better than 8/9am like we’ve experienced in other hotels. Kitchen itself was fine, big enough fridge although no oven, just 2 hobs and a kettle – toasters, toasty machines and irons etc are on loan from reception, not sure how much they are. Bathroom was big enough, although you have to shower quite quickly if you don’t want a serious flood, hairdryer in the bathroom was great, very powerful so no need to pack your own. Electrical sockets were lacking slightly but that’s just me being fussy.
Pool was great, plenty of sunbeds if you were down before 11/12, lots of kids even though it was June but if you want to get away from them head round behind the chutes and you’ll find loads of sunbeds which get the sun all day, unlike the ones beside the kid’s pool which lose the sun mid-afternoon. Tried the pool bar one afternoon for lunch, wouldn’t recommend it, prices are very inflated compared to restaurants nearby and the food itself wasn’t great, tiny portion sizes and the drinks came in tiny glasses, you just have to pop along the road to Il Piatto which without a doubt serves the best food with fantastic waiters.
Didn’t watch the night time entertainment at all.
Staff in the hotel seemed friendly enough, although you have to be quite pushy for them to do repairs straight away.
Migros, the big supermarket is a 2 minute walk along the road, with the dolmus running along the street right outside to go into the old town or along to Icmeler.
Overall the hotel was fantastic, impeccably clean and in a fantastic location. We heard a few complaints from all-inclusive guests about food etc as you will have read, but I think their experiences are completely different from self-catering guests, being in a completely different form of accommodation. As for the foreign guests??? Yes, there is a great diversity, more so perhaps than the likes of Spain etc, but this should not affect the enjoyment of your holiday. I would definitely recommend staying in Blue Bays.

Best holiday I have ever been on!!!!!
This hotel, bearing in mind we stayed in the apartments, is the nicest hotel ever! Driving into Marmaris I was thinking "O no, what have I booked here" but, when we pulled up outside the Blue Bays, it looks impressive! the pool is spot on, the water was 23 degrees when we were there, really nice! The room was cleaned everyday and the maid was really friendly, even left us fruit and flowers!!!!
Only a couple of faults with the hotel, the air con was £40 for 14 nights! and the dafe was £20 I think for 14 nights, non refundable! To cook in the apartments didnt look too appealing on the stoves but we always ate out so we werent bothered!
Location was excellent, a 2 min walk to the beach, o and you have to go to La Piatto resturant, really nice people work there and the food was amazing, we ate there evryday!
Marmaris itself it brilliant, garanteed hot and sunny weather, plenty of nightlife on the beach front, plenty of shops for the women, all fake though! Also, the nicest lager ever is sold there Efes Pilsen, we bought kegs of it to keep in the fridge in the apartment! I was gutted when we had to come home, im currently looking at quotes for next summer, same hotel, I recommend it!!

| said: We arrived at the very beginning of the season and check in was swift and trouble free.
Some of the facilities in the hotel were not ready(the indoor pool was empty and the spa/sauna facility was closed)also painting work was carried out at dinner time in the lobby area which created a very pungent smell. Not very enjoyable at a time when lots of guests are passing to and from dinner. The cleanliness of the poolside toilet was disgusting as the gents urinal was blocked and overflowing for the whole of our 11 night stay despite numerous complaints to the staff. The standard of cleanliness in all other parts of the hotel was very good however.
The food was disgusting-nothing more to say.
We thought that the hotel location was very good as many local facilities were very close by.
All of the bar staff and waiters were fantastic and very polite but anyone who had a supervisory or management roll seemed to be rather bolshy and uninterested in the guests or their job!!!
Despite the fact that there was only three members of the entertainment team split between this hotel and one other Ali,Gino and Nil did a fantastic job of keeping us all entertained day and night. Some of the entertainers who came from outside the hotel were sketchy to say the least and one didn't turn up at all.
We would give the Blue Bays a second chance but we would make a point of visiting later in the season in the hope that all of their advertised facilities are up and running.

The only food that was fair was breakfast but we did not dare eat the 3mins boiled eggs because they were still raw. The rest of the day we ate out because lunch was terrible nothing that anyone liked out of 13 of us. Night time restaurant opened at 7pm by 7:40pm there was very little left(so much for all inclusive)
Quite frankly we would never go to this hotel again because it cost us to keep eating out all of the time.
Pool area not bad. Entertainment rubbish. Best part close to beach and outside restaurants.

We telephoned the reception to report the toilet shortly after arriving 6am), they told us that someone would be with us at 9am (not acceptable when you have been travelling since 5.30 the previous day). At 7am we went downstairs to use the toilets in reception but there was no toilet paper! We went to complain at the reception, there were 3 members of staff behind the reception doing nothing but we had to wait for 10 mins, we asked to change rooms and was told to come back at 10am. We eventually changed rooms to the main building, these were more like 3/4 star and all taken by Germans!
Food and entertainment rubbish!

The Breakfast is a disaster. The only concession this hotel has made towards Irish or British guests is beans, the tea comes from a machine that should be cited for crimes against humanity. The 3min boiled eggs should be 1min boiled eggs, they are so raw as to invite food poisioning. The bread and jam is quite nice!!!
The hotel itself is quite clean. The pool area is also clean, however the pool is freezing cold. As it is surrounded by high-rise buildings it never gets a chance to heat up. The pool area is almost totally in the shade.
Do yourself a favour and choose another hotel.
Location 5/5, everything else 0/5.

We were then shown are rooms and straight away we knew we were not going to sleep in it,The bath was ,well lets just say I would not wash my dog in it and the cigarette burns in the bedding top it off,we complained to reception and after a short burst of laughter from them they moved us again, to the 4th floor with a broken balcony, not the greatest since I have 3 kids.
We got are heads down and returned to reception in the morning and was then put in a 1st floor apartment which was livable.
The access to the reception from the apartments is not ideal for people with buggies which just so happens ours was not at the airport when we arrived, the location is fine, food ok.
On leaving I realised I had left my camera in our room so I called one of our friends we met and he nipped down ten minutes after we had gone and low and behold the cleaner had just finished with our room, no camera!

| said: We booked through Cosmos 9 hours after visiting Turkey in 2004 and were due to stay at the Portobello Apartments which is a 5 Min walk from Blue Bays. 5 days before we were due to fly we were told we had to move and were upgraded to a 4* hotel. On arrival the outside looked nice, the reception staff smile I don't think they would know what that was neither acknowledgement.
We were put at the back of the bar above the Green bar, the room well 2 bedrooms people have kitchens bigger than the room and there were 5 of us. The bath was yellow the ceiling was leaking, formica tops bodged up, sink in bathroom was rusty where it joined the tops, there was mould on the ceiling. I could have cried as I knew what to expect in the other hotel we should have been in.
We tried to see the rep we eventually got to see him on the night before we were due to fly back, we were asked why we didnt call the emergency number we are brought up that the emergency number is for injuries and proper emergency not room problems as you should see the rep. 5 times out of 14 we had to call for more towels as they only gave us 2 for 5 people.
I had tried to change money at the reception they couldnt even say i shall be a minute, I could see that they were changing over staff but they talk amongst themselves but won't speak to you, once they tried to short change me.
We kept our room and paid for it but they could not tell us till 10am if we had to move room or even have a room to stay in a hotel this size must have prior knowledge as to which room people will be in.
We never ate in the hotel all we did was sleep and wash we left the room in the morning and spent the whole day at Portobello.
This is no where near a 4* hotel and I would not recommend these apartments to anyone, in my opionion Portobello is 4* and this Blue Bays Apartments is 2* if lucky .

The hotel staff were not friendly at all, the cleaner was a lovely lady. This hotel runs an all inclusive package you have to fight your way to the bar and there is only one bar man serving at a time once you have your drink you then have to go and pay the cashier,by this time you have drank your drink and are ready for another one.
If you are not up at 6:30am you will not get a sun bed there is not enough for everyone who is staying in the hotel. The brochure stated that there was a mini bar in the room, this was a mini fridge that was not cold and had no alchol in it.
I would not visit this hotel again and would not rate it as a 4* the rooms are very basic.

| said: Poor, the shower unit was broken hanging limp-like over a yellow stained bath. The balcony was quite nice though with views over the main pool. Storage in the rooms is very poor, a lot of our clothing stayed in the case. I tipped the porter for loading my cases in the lift and meeting them at the top, something I'm sure I could have done. It was with Yeni Turkish Lira amounting to about £5 and he said, "I take English money you know". He was sent on his way and that was the first day!!
The staff were very distant and I thought unfriendly.
Having stayed the previous year in Hisaronu which was superb, I had high expectations of Blue Bays which was recommended to me. It was anything but a relaxing holiday. The staff did not make an effort. They would not take cash for drinks at the pool instead, this was charged to your account. When you go to settle your account (on two occasions) the amount differs from the poolside. We insisted on paying cash at the poolside from then on.
The second pool is so cold we used that pool as more of a 'shock treatment' to wake up. Tall buildings all around, there is no view at all.
The hotel is very close to a good supermarket where we bought all our food and beer. Very reasonably priced.
Cooking facilities within the room was adequate although we had salads nearly all of the time. We did not eat once in the poolside restaurant as the staff did not make it very inviting. Do yourself a big favour and pick St Nicholas Park, Hisaronu. Its superb. I'm staying with First Choice but going back to Hisaronu in 2006.
Oh and one more thing, when is the airport going to get some sort of system in place for dropping passengers off. It is mayhem. Buses pull up one after another and unload on top of you. Lets hope the new airport is better.

We arrived in the early hours and was seen straight away. We found the staff on reception friendly but we got a twin room when we ordered a single they said we would have to wait till morning but we could'nt be bothered with the hassle.
We found the staff friendly but not many spoke good English English wich was at times frustrating.
Overall the rest of our holiday was excellent and the hotel was pleasent and we would go back there again.

| said: Hotel clean, room basic but clean and adequate and located in a good position only 5 minutes walk from beach and nightlife.
Pool area and pool very good. Food average at best but very little for children. Reception staff, cleaners and most of other staff were friendly and helpful apart from some of the staff in the poolside bar who were miserable and unfriendly and surley at times. Entertainment ok for people with children, not much for adults.

| said: Me and my famliy stayed in the two beded apartment, the brochure said this hotel/apartments were a 4 star. The hotel itself was not very old, but the apartments were more like a 2 star.
Very basic, but very clean. We did find a couple of times while we were in bed at night and in the morning someone using a key to get in our room, weather it was a misunderstanding or the reception sending people to the wrong room. We did complain to our rep though.
All the staff were extremly friendly, as we were self catering, cannot comment on the food, apart from the pool bar food, which was ok. All drinks are very very expensive in the hotel and in the resort.
Overall, nice hotel but over rated. Location to beach is not 150m more like 450m. Location for shops fine.

| said: Blue bays hotel in Marmaris was the best holiday I had ever been on the people in the hotel were the nicest people you could ever meet. They were polite and helpful in everyway.
And I made lots of friends other there in the hotel, a lot of the people in the hotel were dutch but they were all lovely families.
The food was wonderful and was beautifully presented.
Entertainment was not our thing in the hotel but there are so many bars down the road by the hotel.
We are 100% coming back to blue bays october this year as we enjoyed it so much!

| said: This hotel has been rated a 4*, this is very misleading as we felt the standard was more like 3* or below!
The food was absolutely dreadful and we had to eat out in the end, even though we had booked All Inclusive. If you have children avoid this hotel as your kiddies will go hungry!! If you have booked Self Catering maybe the accommodatin is not so bad, and you have more control over what you eat.
The standard of the rooms is very basic, with very poor facilities.
Most definately would not book this hotel ever again!!!
!Also be very aware that this the first year this hotel has piloted the All Inclusive package, and been warned it is not All Inclusive, they move the goal posts to suit themselves.

| said: We had allocation on arrival so were must impressed when we got the blue bays. The apartment was very spacious and the staff were brillant. The ony draw back is not enough sun loungers, although at that time of year we did manage to find two.
Although a lot of dutch were there they were mostly families and very very pleasant. Just a couple of greedy people who left their loungers unused until the end of the day and a couple who used to just come down to get their towels. Afraid they were dutch which gives the wrong impression of these friendly people.

| said: a pleasant shock to the senses after visiting spain last year, the apartment was spacious and clean the outside of the hotel and apartments was very impressive! the only draw back was the fact that the Dutch would put their towels on the sun loungers at 6am and not show up again until the sun was at it's hottest, this meant there wasn't enough sunloungers to go round, i spoke to the guest relations about this and signs appeared on the lift doors (at ground level) the following day, but it didn't do much good, the Dutch teenagers also seemed to think that they ruled the hotel and the pool area this led to some friction between them and other guests. i would deffinately stay there again though. one other thing if you are visiting for the first time don't book your excursions through the hotel or rep they're half the price from the vendors and you can haggle with them too, to get it even cheaper! All in all a great holiday, and value for money.

| said: Stayed at the blue bay apartments which after seeing the hotel were a bit of a let down very basic but clean and the staff were very helpful getting us more cuboards and wardrobes for all our stuff. Food at the poolside bar was ok, but as there is so many restaurants right outside this was not a problem. The hotel entertainment team were fantastic their shows of an evening were really funny so much so that the kids used to drag us back to the hotel after dinner every night so they could see them, the entertainment team were also fantastic with all the kids they really made the holiday for them all in all a fantastic place to go so much so that we are booking to go back there next year.

The location of this hotel is just right - situated on the main road thru marmaris. Close to the beach, Macdonalds and migros supermarket. Taxi rank over the road + the dolmus stops outside every couple of minutes.

| said: We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at blue Bays. Even though it was 4am the staff were were very friendly and helpful and carried our luggage to our room for us. The room itself was spacious and clean, but the staff were eager to know if there was anything they could do to improve it. Kitchen facilities were basic but adequate, and there was a 'real' supermarket |
