We arrived early hours Mon was given bottled water and sandwich rolls were on offer. Staff was friendly!

The hotel looks lovely and was not too lively but a few nice bars the pool was great indoor pool could have done to be a bit nicer.

The staff were very friendly and the bar staff too and they never forget a face they make a grand fancy cocktail a must for any lady !!!!

The night club was ok would have been better if people went in Bibi was a great laugh he's the DJ a real nice guy when you get to know him. Arrived too late for evening meal but was told sandwiches were available, these turned out to be a crusty roll with a slice of cheese. Food was not particularly appetising but the lunchtime food faired better (eaten at poolside bar, cannot comment about restaurant at lunchtimes as didnt use it). Pancakes were popular and very nice served at 4pm each day.

The hotel was kept clean to a good standard. The hotel is a good hour & 30 mins from airport but in a nice area not far from the beach. Some shops are close by.

The marjority of the hotel staff were friendly and approachable with good understanding of English language. Some were rude and ignorant. One of the entertainment team needed watching; thought nothing of inappropriate remarks, touching and just pushing children into the pool. He made our party feel uncomfortable and we thought him very rude and obnoxious. The entertainment on an evening... what entertainment? The best entertainment was provided one evening by a guest at the hotel doing a belly dance! The disco was for over 18's and was very dated the bar manager very unfriendly and even though no one was in the disco he would not let our older teenagers go in just to dance. Two nights running we were asked to leave. Through the day lots of activities were going on and we were not forced to join in. Plenty of pool tables. A gym, saunas and massages were also available. The animation team did a good job not only organising daytime activies but did the entertainment on the night also and apart from one member were nice to people.

I would visit this hotel again.

Arrived early hours AM. Greeted with a bottle of water each and a bread roll packed in cling film. Yuk! As we have previously stayed at Iberostar Hotels our expectations were dashed.

Unable to get a cup of coffee or a drink. Our expectations were even more in decline when we went for breakfast. One big shambles for unappetizing food. Lunch was better, but by that time we were getting hungry! Dinner was a down hill trip.

The choice of an A La Carte meal was available for one evening of our stay. Thank goodness. our stomach's would not have stood that more than once. It was awful. Gordon Ramsey should visit. He can use just the right expletives to describe such gastronomic delights.

In the bar the staff were friendly but after two evenings we were willing to go to bed early to break the boredom. But the noise kept us awake so the next night we stayed in the bar.

Tried the disco and although a little aged for that sort of thing, we found they only had one record of the Bee Gees. When we were just getting in the move. The only one time we went to the evening entertainment we found the entertainers dressed in nappies and hitting each other with loofers. Probably better on the other nights. Perhaps they do not wear the nappies!

The Turkish Bath was good. My partner enjoyed the treatment but got a bruise on her nose during her facial treatment.

There is a doctor on hand so don't worry if you do intend to try that experience. But of course you can bring it to the attention of the Thomas Cook Rep. Why? They don't care either. Finally I got a stomarch upset but although hard to drag ourselves away under those pleasurable circumstances, we were off home. Great.

The only thing that saved us from complete dispair was the company that we had with two like minded holiday makers who were also feeling as depressed as us. But at Monastir airport we found many others that expressed the same feelings.

Also found that tipping the right people got the best service. So get plenty of those loose Dinars. (Pity my partner did'nt do that before her facial treatment) You will recognise her in Bromley. The lady with the red hooter!

All inclusive food from 7am to 12 midnight. You can not go hungry, even rolls after midnight.

Rooms nice and clean every day, hotel spotless as well.

Food just wish there was some fruit for breakfast, kids ate really well.

Staff excellent all around.

Animation team fantastic, things to do all day, not too pushy, just making sure you get the best from your holiday.

Kids club, plenty for them to do, no one gets left out, kids were bored when we got home. We loved it.

The staff keep you in fits of laughter all day.

Trips you have to do the Sahara 2 day, just excellant, even the kids had a good time. Worth every penny.

Where can I start? Firstly by saying that we met some of the most friendliest people ever, if you're reading this a big thank you to Terry and Trina, Tywo and Rob, Paula and family, Sally and family and the two girls Terri and Jayne!!!

If you were on our coach late on the 13 Sep my hubby would like to apologise for making everyone wait whilst he went to the toilet at the first drop off, thankfully the only toilet calamity we had!!!

RECEPTION

On arrival what a refreshing change, there was no hustle and bustle, everybody was very relaxed and friendly. We were asked to go to our room where the bell boy would bring our bags, they arrived in less than 10 minutes. I must say every dealing we had with reception was polite and friendly, they spoke very good English.

RESTAURANTS

Breakfast was a little dissapointing but lets be honest, no matter where you go in the world you'll never find the great british fry-up. Lunch and dinner were fantastic for both adults and children, plenty of choice, none of us went hungry. The waiters again were great, they knew what you were drinking after the first night. On our last evening there I wasn't drinking because of flying and our waiter sneakily gave me a bottle of rose wine to take home. Just a small sign of the good service we received here.

POOL

The pool is a really unusal shape, all twists and turns, just be careful as there are some missing tiles and it does get slippery around the edges when wet, I still have the bruises to prove it. If you're not up for a laugh then don't sit near the water polo goals as you will get soaked and hit with the ball (we sat there every day)!!!The childrens pool is secluded from the main pool with it's own beds and parasols, which I thought a good idea, much safer for young ones.

BARS

Only really used three out of the four, we found the top bar (in reception) very snooty, I even nicknamed it the posh bar. The pool bar was good, obviously we never had to change out of our swimwear and we also had lunch there every day, very friendly if a bit sleezy. The disco bar was well stocked and they had bottled lager instead of draft. Our fav was the Cactus bar downstairs in the inside garden area, staff were on the ball and again knew what you wanted and often sent it over to your table before you'd finished the last, many thanks to my fav barman Hamed.

RESORT

Although a bit out of the way it was nice not to be in the centre of things. Saying that, you was never more than 5 minutes from anything whether it was the Medina, the beach or the ice rink (beware,if you've got your own skates then take them)!!!

ENTERAINMENT

Now for my favourite part, what a great bunch of people, Mourad just needs to lighten up on his staff a bit though. The team will try to get you up to join in but there is no pressure, if you give it a chance though, I promise you, you will enjoy yourself. We'd never tried archery or petanque before and thouroughly enjoyed it, the key is to not take things too seriously and have a laugh. The animators the stood out were Kimo the mini club rep who was absolutely fantastic with children of all ages, our son is 11 and had as much fun as the younger children. Nino was the sort that doesn't understand the word no, so if you don't want to join in stay away from Nino, our fav was Willy, he had the sweetest, friendliest nature and if you didn't want to join in then he never tried to force you, just say freeee willlllllyyyyyyy, willy you want to be freee!!! He must have seen the film as he found this hilarious.

This is definately a hotel myself,my husband and the boys would visit again, none of us wanted to come home, all i can say is well done to all the staff at the Hotel Chich Khan, BIG applauso!!!!

Dreadful place. A 4* rating is laughable. Anyone who enjoys this place has never been to a REAL 4* hotel.
Food very poor - especially breakfast (toast, scrambled egg and pig fat).

Entertainment is run like a second rate Butlins - absolutely pathetic. Animation staff do their best but ALL secretly hate their boss (miserable Mourad).

If you don't expect good standards and are not used to staying in a quality place then you'll love it here.
However, if you are expecting a little more then it's the wrong place for you.

If you are already booked and going to the lovely Chich Khan take this advice; Change your booking.

Seriously, we put in a huge complaint when we got back. The Rep ran out of complaint forms and spent the whole fortnight apologising to people. Too much wrong with it to list here.

The worst place we've ever been to - and we've been to quite a few places!

We stayed at the Iberostar Chich Khan. What a fantastic place. The best holiday I have ever had.
The hotel was lovely. Food was fantastic a very good range of things. The staff were fantastic and most off all we give 11 out of 10 for the entertainment staff who were excellent and made us feel very welcome.
The only thing that let it down was it was a 10-15 min walk away from the hotel from the beach. But the waslk was pleasant so really cant complain too much.

Would definatley go again so we give it a thumbs up!

We {2 adults and 4 children aged 8 months 3 years 10 and 11} have just returned from this hotel and what a 2 weeks we had.

We went all inclusive and the food was very good indeed and it seemed to get better as the holiday came to an end and it was so clean ,I saw one man polishing the floor for 4 hours non stop the staff are unreal they work very hard and treat you like kings honest. I have been to many hotels and this was fantastic, the location is a bit of a let down there is not a lot to do its based all around the hotel but I knew that before I went.

The beach is a lovely sandy beach and the hotel has a stretch of its own ,the entertainment team were good i have a 8 month old baby and Alex one of the entertainers worshipped him and wherever we went the local people would stop and make a fuss of him the. We were a little worried before we went.

We had heard that they can be nasty people but it is safe and the people are so friendly it’s unreal. The beer at the hotel is a good beer, I have been to hotels where it has been watered down but not here.

If you are reading this believe me, you will love it. Everyone I talked to was very impressed and I heard a lot say that they were coming back.

We arrived after being moved from another hotel, first thoughts were. Clean, airy and friendly.

The reception staff bent over backwards to find suitable rooms for 2 adults and 2 teenagers ,eventually settling on 1 room in the atrium section and one twin in the wings .Thats where the problem started.

The room was lovely bright and over looked pool, with small balcony. Wonderful ....until you want to sleep !evry noise in the reception and bars echoed into our room and kept us awake til after midnight ,and when the cleaners began in the morning at 7am the removal of the furniture in the reception area ,dragging heavy furniture across marble floors, made a noise that woke us every day !

On day 3 the bullfrogs in the pool started mating! Oh joy what a racket !!!! If you dont want sleep then book a room in the atrium! Food good, staff good, nothing to do for teens and the resort was false and like Disneyland without any attractions.

Local shops tourist tat and pizzas. Medina (bazzar)every shop sported the same goods which was a bit boring, and we have to pay to get in!(try to find the free drink)

Shop staff intimidating ...wouldn't go again.

This was our honeymoon....

The hotel is huge! Reception and bar areas set oout really well.

Rooms very nice, however the maid's seem to pick and choose who they want to clean and decorate the room with flowers (we werent her favourite people obviously as we didnt!)

Beach a bit scruff, beware no ceiling in beach toilets.

Pool really nice....very cold. Pool bar, watch out that your food hasnt been pecked to pieces by birds, and flies.

Flies everywhere, they wont leave you alone!

Food ok first week, second week is repetitive.

Everyone we knew had stomach upsets on and off for two weeks.

NO AIRCONDITIONING!

Evening entertainment rubbish.

Arrived 6hrs late due to a four hour flight delay, to be given a warm bottle of water on arrival to hotel.

There are no snacks in the all inclusive deals, unless you count th dried up manky sandwich, that had been sat on the bar all nite!

However, it was very relaxing, shame we encountered a few problems on our honeymoon.

The hotel was not cleaned to 4 star standards until a survey was happening, it is also plagued with flies.

The food is reheated if you go for breakfast at 7 am (when the retaurant opens)you will find stone cold scrambled eggs, as well as all the other stuff in the "hot plates" the "chef" could not flip a fried egg. You can book a la carte but a day before. We had international night (salad, soup, mixed grill and cake) a 20 min wait between soup and main, the mixed grill is the same stuff as you get in the buffet.

The cleaners ignore do not disturb signs, the hotel staff are only interested in speaking to each other, the animation team in only getting their figures up for the entertainment which by the way was dire. I had to lend them my cd`s so they could get people on the disco dancefloor the music was full of Sinatra, French cafe music etc..

The location is is right on a main road which you have to cross to get to the beach.

Alledgedly the hotel has been upgraded to 5 star, in our opinion it struggles to reach 3 star. Down the road is another Iberostar hotel the Solaria now that is 5 star as is the Lella Beya Bang across the road.

Hotel Chick Khan, Yasmine Hammamet. We arrived after a long journey to polite and helpful staff on reception.

The rooms were cleaned daily, fresh bedding and towels were provided, the cleaner even left flowers in the bathroom and on the beds. It was a little hot at night as the air conditioning had been switched off - too early in our opinion.

Food was varied and there was something to everyones taste.

The animation team worked extremely long hours and endeavoured to get everyone to join in. The entertainment was in the disco on two evenings due to bad weather - it is a very hot room and many people chose not to bother.

The hotel was well placed for the beach and Medina.

We would definitely return.

My wife and I are seasoned all inclusive holiday makers. When booking, we always try to find a hotel around the 4 star rating. This is what we tried to do on this occasion. We had always been led to believe that Iberostar Hotels are of top quality. However, in our opinion, this hotel rates as a 3 star and no more.

This holiday was always going to struggle to compete with our last to Egypt earlier in the year. We did, however, try to keep an open mind when writing this review.

We arrived at the hotel for our 2 week break circa 0400 hrs (approximately 4 hours later than planned due to airline delays). We had travelled with Thomas Cook Airlines, who had informed us that weather in the Balearics had caused the problem. Unfortunatately, this did not persuade the hotel rep to put back the 1030 a.m. welcome meeting to accommodate some sleep.

Although we were tired, the hotel reception appeared well presented and reception staff helpful. We paid the 26 Dinar fee for use of a safe deposit box for 2 weeks. This only equates to £11 but our experience of AI hotels tells us that this money is usually only held as a deposit for return on departure. Not the case at the Chich Khan..

A porter assisted us with our suitcases (for the usual fee). Due to the design of the hotel, you could not walk straight down the corridor to our room (although we were on the same floor as the hotel reception). We had to use the lift, to either go up or down a floor to overcome this mysterious unused private hall that lie in the way. The only problem was that you then either had to climb or descend stairs the other side of this chamber. This was not a problem as we are both quite fit. However, it could pose a problem for the older or disabled, especially if carrying bags.

It should be noted that this would only efect a small amount of rooms in the hotel. It was just unfortunate that we happened to be in one of the rooms.

The overall design of this hotel was, for us, a significant point of discussion. It was hard to put your finger on it. Whether it was the almost overgrown jungle ambience of the setting or merely the general layout of the hotel, something did not feel right.

On opening the door to our room, we were treated to the bitter/sweet smell of disinfectant. Always a good sign of cleanliness, we thought. It got better. On opening the toilet door (which was a seperate room to that of the shower), we were impressed to see a disposable paper strip laid across the closed toilet seat, like a glistening ribbon waiting to be cut. The writing on this paper told us that the toilet had been freshly disinfected.

This was in fact the last time that we smelt disenfectant in the room. Yes, the rooms were cleaned daily and yes towels replaced regurlarly. However, it seemed to us that the maid (bless her) merely used tap water to clean the stone floors. The toilet area was not cleaned during our 2 week stay. Given the strange odours that were sometimes smelt in the hotels residential corridors and outside, this was not ideal.

the maid was always busy and up early. We would normally get a knock on the door at about 0930 each morning. No 'do not disturb' signs were supplied making it difficult for us to tell her that we were sometimes sleeping.

If she didn't get an answer, she would open the door. We counteracted that problem by putting the chain on. However, she was very insistant and would request the dirty towels whilst ajar.

The time of our return flight had made us decide to pay a late check out fee for the room (payable on booking the holiday). On the last day, We did not put the chain on the door thinking that the maid would not bother cleaning until we left. Big mistake. Firstly at about 1300 hrs, she asked us if we were going yet. We said no. An hour later, she entered after knocking and asked for the towels. Finally at about 1500 hrs, she entered whilst we were on the balcony and removed the bedding sheets. It was at this point we decided to go and sit in the foyer.

The weather during the first week was mainly cloudly, taking the edge off the temparatures. It was just as well really as the in built air conditioning was ineffective.

Getting back to the beginning of our holiday - The hotel's room publication stated that our room had a minibar. We couldn't find it anywhere. Also, our request for a remote control for the French dominated TV fell on deaf ears. The light on our balcony did not work (fixed 4 days before departure) and one of the bedside wall lights was hanging from it's wires. There were also a few light fittings missing with wires exposed in the hotel's corridors. This is not what we expected of a four star hotel.

We awoke later in the morning and got our first view from the balcony. Our room overlooked the pool. However, it didn't as there was so much foliage in the way. In our opinion, the plantation was overcooked.

We went to reception and listened to the usual sales pitch at the welcome meeting. We then decided to go and explore the hotel and grounds.

The indoor pool was empty and out of bounds. There is also an area under renovation to the front left of the hotel. The outdoor pool was modest in size and cold. The sun loungers were cramped together around the pool area. There are also grassy areas where other loungers are situated. We found these the best places to sunbathe. HOwever, you had to find a suitable spot in amongst all the trees etc. Contrary to earlier reports, we didn't find it hard to find a lounger.

The design of the hotel encouraged the gardens to be trodden over and the gardens were not well kept. There only appeared to be one gardener for the whole grounds. He would sometimes water the grass and plants around you whilst you sunbathed rather than doing it earlier in the morning. Perhaps he had a night job.

There was a distinct lack of bins around giving the smokers licence to stub their cigaratte butts in the worn grass.

There were two restaurants to choose from. The main one being buffet style. The other being A la Carte. You had to book for the a la carte the day before going. In our opinion, this option was not worth trying.

The main buffet restaurant was quite good with a varied (not extensive) choice of food. We have had better choice and quality at other AI hotels we have visited. One of the main problems with this restaurant was the warm temparature you had to endure whilst eating (even if it was cool outside).

The two things that do score highly with this hotel are the staff and location. In fairness, the staff are friendly and helpful and service at the bars/restaurant is efficient. The hotel is close to the shops, beach and picturesque marina. Hammammet towm centre is 7 miles away. A 6 dinar (£2.60) taxi ride will get you there in 10 minutes.

We stayed in the hotel Chich Khan in Yasmine Hammamett, Tunisia and we thought it was excellent.

We went on an all inclusive basis which we found great value for money.

The food was very good & varied with a mix of traditional & local dishes.

The hotel was very clean with the rooms cleaned every day!
We found the staff to be very helpful & pleasent
The entertainment was OK, you had the option of water polo, volleyball etc in the day & there was a show every night.

We enjoyed the holiday so much, we plan to return!

Found the hotel very clean and staff very friendly!!

There is food for everyone but sometimes found food a bit bland and on last day my husband got food poisoning from under cooked burgers so please beware these were been cooked as you watched -guess we didnt watch close enough!!

Overall the hotel was great and no reason to grumble!!! The pool area was really clean and relaxing and theres usually something going on ie water polo volley ball water aerobics thats if they've not got you singing and dancing round the pool!!!

My only grumble about outside was the snack bar there were far too many flies there on the food and didnt feel like eating anything from there!!!

The reception area to this hotel is very impressive and reception staff are helpful. The hotel is kept very clean and tidy. It's worthwhile having a good look round the hotel when you first arrive to find out when the various bars and restaurants open and to find out what's going on.

The rooms are cleaned daily and towels changed every day. Flowers were left on the bed and round the sink. If you left your nightware on the bed, the maid would arrange it into various shapes!

The animation team work very hard, from early morning until late at night. There is a full programme of daily activities. They are friendly and put on some good shows in the evening. If they don't do them themselves, then they bring in a professional company.

The hotel manager is always walking round the hotel and will stop to ask if everything is OK.

The food is excellent with plenty of choice and variation. The only thing was that for our second week, a lot of English people came into the hotel and the food went rather bland! The food was still good, but rather disappointing after the first week.

The waiters and bar staff are friendly. If you give them a small tip every now and again, doesn't have to be much, you will find that you will get a better service from them.

When we arrived at the hotel we were amazed at how clean the hotel looked and how friendly the staff were at reception. We were told to leave our suitcases at reception as they had bus boys to bring them up to your room. (We had never had this service before.)

The room was very presentable there were flowers on the bed and everything was tidy we had a family room which meant me and my sister had a separate room to my mom and dad which was great! The bathroom was quite big and the toilet was a separate room connected to the bathroom. We had a look round the hotel and couldn't get over how big the pool was it was very busy with people sunbathing on lilos.

It was convenient that there was a snack bar close to the pool that would serve food at lunchtime.

The animation team were the best they were so friendly and would try and get you involved in all activities they even dragged me to play archery and I won!!! I also got involved in three of the shows they put on in the evening which was good for fame! The entertainment was excellent some nights it would be the animation team entertaining and other nights it would be professionals but at the end of each night they would do there club dance which was really fun to do. They would also do mini disco every night for the kids which was enjoyable to watch!!!

The food was good there was a variety and it was a buffet so yyou could help yourself. This hotel was the best I’ve ever been to and I didn't want to leave!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our group of ten was a mixture of small children teenagers and adults. We not sure what to expect as we had never been to a country quite like Africa. When we arrived after quite a long transfer (1hr 30mins) we were absolutely thrilled with the impressive reception of the hotel.

We checked in with the very courteous reception staff and helped with our luggage up to our rooms. The rooms were spotless spacious lovely and cool flowers were arranged on our pillows every day!! We then met up for a drink in the bar had a couple of very strong vodkas the measurements are very generous which was great!!

We got very friendly with the animation team and were always roped into doing every activity going we had a fantastic time with them.

The resort itself is beautiful especially the medina on a night lots of live entertainment going on and the hustle and bustle of the shops you can get real bargains just never except the first price they say you have to halve it.

All in all it is the best holiday we have been on yet will definitely return in the future was very sad to come home.

Cleanliness - Absolutely spottless, couldn't fault it.

Food - The first week was great, however the second week didn't have as much on offer, on the whole very nice.

Location - Not bad I suppose

Staff - Extremely nice and very friendly with a few exeptions.

Entertainment - No bad during the day however at night time it wasn't that great.

We would definately visit the Chich Khan Again

Stayed at hotel in middle of June with family

Pulled up after terrible experience in airport, basically other travellers mainly French just walked up to immigration instead of queueing up like all the British.

When reached hotel took a sigh of relief, hotel looks magnificent and nearly is.

Food ok but needed varying more and more choice for kids, does have kids buffet but not much choice, mainly pasta and fish with bones in etc ...not good for a 18 month old...Saw manager every day and night for two weeks (this surprised us)...the man never sleeps, he is very helpful and always has a big smile for the whole family.

The pools were very nice but very busy, same as the pool bar and main hotel bar.

Only went into night club to watch an animation show due to bad weather(got bit3 times in 5 mins).

The rooms were lovely and the maids are angels, they changed the beds everyday (due to leaky baby bottles) and even folded clothes we couldn’t fault them.

We found the only problem we had was with the bar staff for the first day or so, they seemed very arrogant but watching how they were treated by other guest (not British) I wasn’t surprised. Once they realised that most British people are polite etc they seemed to warm to them.

We went to the beach only twice as we aren’t beach lovers, seemed ok partner enjoyed para gliding etc...I was surprised that there wasn’t more to do but didn’t mind the chance of being able to do nothing.

The rep Francesca was lovely and helped as we had 2 birthdays in our party she arranged a cake in the restaurant and the manager and waiters sang happy birthday.

Overall hotel was very good and we would definitely stay in another Iberostar hotel.

My two kids enjoyed the mini disco every night and even the shows.

We had read the reviews before leaving and had a few reservations as this was our first visit to Tunisia. These were unfounded.

We had a three hour transfer and arrived at 11pm, but were offered refreshments as we checked in, which was quick and efficient.

The room was large, clean and comfortable and we had a large balcony overlooking the pool!

The staff were friendly and helpful and even the guys who booked trips in the lobby were always cheery and talkative and you didn't have to book through them although their trips were excellent. In fact we went quad biking twice with them and got discounts the second time!!!

During our stay, the hotel manager was in attendance in the dining room at diner and he was asking men that wore vest tops to go and change for dinner, so be warned!!

The pool area was very popular and to get the best loungers you did have to be an early riser, but we took it in turns with other guests.

This is the first time my kids didn't go to kids club as they are now too old, but there was plenty to keep them occupied especially the rumour about the dead body in the green lift!!!!????

All in all we had a fantastic holiday at the Chich khan and will be going back soon!!!

The Iberostar Chich Khan was a lovely hotel, with friendly staff and good activities.

The food was nice, with lots of variety at the all-inclusive buffet. There was perhaps not enough choice for kids, but there was basics like chips and pasta. Drinks available were also very good.

We found the hotel to be very clean, and the maid service every day was excellent. The pool area was very nice, and the activities provided were entertaining. The only problem with the hotel was that it maybe did not provide enough in the way of childrens entertainment, but then we went at the beginning of May so it could have improved at high season.

The main thing that struck me about this hotel was its relaxed atmosphere and really friendly staff.

The hotel in general would not score a four star rating if you based it upon UK standards it’s more a three. The food is of good standard and variety.

Room service is excellent with a cheap laundry service if required. Generous room sizes are cleaned everyday by friendly staff, who by the way leave flowers in your room and arrange any clothing they find on the bed for you for your return after a busy day doing nothing.

There are two main bars in this hotel which can get very busy, therefore getting served can sometimes be difficult. The other is the pool bar, which also gets busy throughout the day.

Something to note, if your kids like ice cream when its hot, get your hand in your wallet because these are not included. The only place you'll get these is in the shop in the hotel foyer. Which by the way, is where the pushy trip organisers hang out like vultures.

If you don't have a tan, run away they know you've money. They can be very annoying be aware...

After reading other reviews on this hotel I was totally dreading going. But, the food was fantastic, we were offered a vast range of foods all of which we could get at home, just cooked a little differently. After all we were in a different continent!

As this hotel boarded guests from several countries I'm sure there was something to suit everyone. As for the quality, it was superb, the presentation also deserves 5 star plus! At lunch and dinner we were offered two areas where we could dine, the snack bar which served the usual burgers, pizzas salad etc and the restaurant which as I said previously offered a vaster range. We all had more than our monies worth at this hotel.

On our first night we were met by the manager who explained how the dining room operated, (eg order your drinks and this reserves your table.)and also told us any problems at all and go straight to him and he would sort them. He was in the restaurant at every meal time and went around every table making sure we were all happy! After a couple of visits the waiters knew us and we didnt even have to ask for our drinks. All the waiters and staff in this hotel were terrific what ever they are being paid is'nt enough.

Our rooms were spotless on arrival and every day the maid came in and changed our towels and cleaned our room even if it did'nt need it.On entering our room we were amazed at the care and attention they gave, even making the beds, arranging flowers on them and patterns in the bedding. Absolutely fabulous!

We had a room facing the pool area and the entertainment was just underneath outside but as it finished at 10.30 it was not overly noisy, just holiday makers having fun! The entertainment team were fab! Going out of their way to try to get you to join in every activity.
At night the entertainment was outside tho some nights it was a bit cool and a light jacket would be needed. But overall the entertainment was very good.

We were really sorry to leave at the end of our holiday the staff made us so welcome and were all really friendly. The bar staff were very efficient and hardly any queues at all and most of the time had our drinks set up before we even asked for them! The waiters were very friendly and constantly clearing tables and replacing dirty ashtrays.

We left behind some very good, new friends! Would we go back again? Do you really need to ask! We truly did'nt want to come home.

All inclusive not brilliant in this hotel, have been to Tunisia 3 times previously and this hotel was no way 4*, I would rate it as definately 3*. The hotel is no where near the beach, you have to go out of the hotel complex, across two busy wide roads and then walk along a prom, before you get to the private section of the beach allocated to the hotel. When we got to the beach the beach bar was not open, so you could not get a drink and the free sunloungers were disgraceful, you would be better laying on the sand, as they sagging and in need of replacement.

Buffet area on restaurant was very small for size of hotel, food was limited but was always hot. Takes a lengthy amount of time to be replaced when items had run out. The hotel was clean, but towels, bedding, carpeting and general decor needed updating.

Hotel full of kids, even in term time, sun longers by the pool are limited, you have to get up early to get one, by 10.30 the area is packed, with only a few inches in between people. The garden area is your best bet if you want to try and relax.

We expected a number of bars to be serving, but only one bar was open at any time and the pool bar does not serve spirits only wine, beer and soft drinks. Even this
stopped serving beer on the last day of our holiday as they run out at 11.30 in the morning. The queues in the evening were rediculous.

Entertainment in this hotel, was very poor and based in the disco which is in the cellar. There is a small bar, but no windows, air conditioning and the heat is terrible after 10 mins we left, we asked the animation
guy way it was not outside and he said it was to cold!!
The temperature at night was at least 17.

All in all we were very disapointed with this hotel and the rating it has been given is definately too high. After staying in other Iberostar hotels this is not up to standard. After the first night er asked the rep to move us, but she could only offer us Half Board at extra cost or to a 3* hotel at no extra charge, but our arguement was we had paid 4* price and that was what we wanted. After consideration and with little choices we decided the better the devil you know,we only had a week there thank god and we refer to this holiday as a week at Butlins. If you are going for a relaxing holiday without any kids, then re consider your booking. This hotel is definately not as the brochure states.

We would not recommend this place to anyone and can not stress enough how misleading Thomas cook have made the place sound.

A final word of warning, if you are allocated room 1434 on arrival do not accept it, we did and on our first night at 11.00pm the disco starts and you will not get any sleep until at least 2.30-3.00, this room is directly above the disco. The management of this hotel are then unhelpful in moving you and promise every day, in the end we had to get the rep involved, she did get a result, but not a good start to our hols.

Our family had a splendid week in Chich Khan Hotel Iberostar near Hammamet.

The rooms were spacious enough with separate toilet. Cleanliness could be better. The staff was very friendly and the food - considering such a big hotel - was excellent with all kind of dishes. Especially the children 7 and 9 loved the pancakes, the frites and the delicious cakes.
The swimming pool was great and very clean. Also a beautiful garden.

When the hotel is fully booked up and their is sunshine the problem with the chairs is, that early in the morning guests (especially Germans) claim their chairs for the whole day by lying towels on it. When we came later there were no chairs left without towels.
We made a fantastic trip to the south with a desert 4x4 trip to the site of Star Wars. Especially our grandson was delighted.

There are 2 tennis hardcourts, midgetgolf. Entertainment by the staff was not so much.
Anyhow we can recommend this hotel especially for families with childeren.

After 1 night in the hotel - we asked to move. There was pooh in the pool and the facilities were few.

We were expecting a wider range of restaurants, but in actual fact there are only 2 - the main restaurant and a pool bar - which was littered with rubbish and dirty ashtrays. Constant loud music booms out and there are lots of children. Not a place to go for a romantic break.

The only saving grace on this holiday were the excellent Thomas Cook reps who moved us immediately to a better standard of hotel.

Don't expect the same standard of hotel as the uk - i.e. a 4 star in Tunisia is more like a 2/3 star in the uk. We were very dissapointed. After a grotty breakfast - we didnt stick around for dinner!

I would recommend anyone who goes to go 5 star.

The Chich Khan is a fantastic hotel. From the moment you pull up outside the front of the hotel upon arrival, you look at the front entrance and say "Wow!".
The staff are extremely freindly and helpful, and work their socks off to accomodate your every need.
The food is very good, and there is plenty of choice.
Breakfast alone, there is choces of around eight cereals, fully cooked including bacon, sausage ( try Tunisian sausages!) egg etc. Pancakes with syrup and four different fruit juices! You get the idea!
The swimming pool outside is amazing. forget going down steps to get into this Italian designed pool, all you have to do is walk down a gentle long slope to gradually enter the pool> Bliss! the pool also has a bar area where you can eat at lunchtime if you wish. The whole garden surrounding the hotel is very well kept.
The hotel has no sea views so asking for a pool view is recommended.
I very much enjoyed my stay at the Chich Khan, and would return like a shot!
