| said: We travelled to the Hotel Bergantin with our two children. We have to say this is certainly not a family hotel, because we got very little sleep. We missed breakfast most days, not because we were out clubbing but because we were up all night with the noise of people running up and down corridors, banging on doors (sometimes we felt they were banging to come into our room it was that loud), and what it seemed moving furniture above us !
The Food was fantantic and we don't see how anyone could complain about this. There was plently of choice. My husband likes meat and I eat very little meat so there was plently of choice for both of us. The children's menu didn't have much choice but as we said the main buffet was sufficient.
The cleanliness of the rooms I have to say was fantantic also, the maids came everyday and changed our towels if we wished them to be changed and were also very friendly.
The bar staff were great they would let you take more that one drink at a time. Just one member of the barstaff was probably a little grumpy (but you always get one don't you ?)
As for the hotel entertainment team - well they seemed like they didn't care anymore as the hotel was giving them so much hassle. Be aware all the children's songs are in german so your children don't know what they are singing or dancing to. Since we got home they are both sing in german but don't know the meaning of the song !!!!
All in all we made it a good holiday but would not go back to the Hotel Bergantin.

| said: The Bergantin is not a family hotel, it is stag/hen night heaven. Full of young brits on the beer. The cabaret show on our last night closed to the sounds of a group of girls on their balcony singing "lets go F****** mental" Pretty much the story of our 2 weeks I'd say.
Even people talking in the corridors was extremely noisy, let alone people running, shouting, banging doors all night (or is that morning). The walls must have been paper thin.
The problem is not the hotel itself rather than the clients it attracts. We have stayed closer to the centre of SA (Hotel Hawaii) and it couldn't have been more different. So location is not to blame.
Cleanliness - Hotel was spotless, rooms cleaned daily.
Food - Excellent, I have no idea how anyone could complain.
Staff - Excellent and friendly apart from the young lad at the small pool bar. Got to be the most ignorant person I've ever met. The rest of the staff really nice and friendly and a pleasure to deal with.
Entertainment - Regular professional shows were standard holiday stuff. Entertaining enough.
The in house entertainment (Animation) team were obviously at loggerheads with the hotel. The microphone cut out if the crowd cheered so they were up against it from day one.
The kids entertainment by the animation team was very poor by other hotel standards. Every night was the same dancing routine to the same CD but not a word of English on it. No variation and if no kids there by 8.30 nothing happened until 10pm.
All said and done we met some great people on this holiday. But I doubt if (like us) they would return to the Bergantin.
Hopefully others will post their experiences as a warning to other families.

The All inclusive was excellent other that it finishing at 11pm. Just fill your table up before 10:30 as they only allow 2 drinks after that.
Icecreams all day the kids could just go to the freezer and pick one up.
Snack bar was excellent.
Restraunt was excellen food was brilliant. On friday night they carved a whole leg of beef..
Location is brilliant as there are bars just 50 metres away, Rodeo and the Irish bar were the best with live bands every night.
Weather wasn't great but the hotel made up for it.

Cheap alcopops for sale at bar as well as your free drinks. 2 good pools, clean! Room small but had hardly any sleep, air con did not work in 1 room.
Staff never got a day off, therefore never smiled. lookie lookie men and pr's free to wander around hotel at any time of day and night.
Hotel mix of couples, groups and families but good mixture, dont think we annoyed too many people! a must for a holiday in the bergantin is the sunshine song!

| said: We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks and went all inclusive. I didn't rate the food much at all. The snack bar around the pool was really nice but the food at tea was always cold and never much choice. Some things wern't even cooked properly. I found my self eating out alot, or filling up at dinner time around the pool.
The hotel was always kept clean. I saw them cleaning the pool afew times too. The rooms where cleaned daily and the hotel in general was lovely & big.
The location for us wasn't that good as we thought we would have been closer to the night life, but we where about a 20-30 minute walk away, although you could get the water taxi which took 5 mins. There was a very good bar just around the corner though called "BUCANEROS", I reccomend this to everyone, the staff here where ace and you have got to go. It doesn't shut till early morning. There was crazy golf near by and returaunts and some small bars too. It was good for a family with kids. The beach was also lovely and only 5 minutes away.
The hotel staff where really good, especially with my little boy. They always took time out to speak to him.
There was a disco for the kids but apart from that the entertainment was just ok. Some night's where better than others. They had parot shows on and singers, but then other night's there was nothing.
All in all, I thought this hotel was really nice (apart from the food) but I just wasn't keen on the location.

| said: I travelled with a large mixed group of family and friends to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. On arrival before leaving the reception area one of us had their bag stolen. The hotel refused to do anything about it even though they knew what floor they had gone to and what they looked like. They even refused to look at the CCTV. Room keys were given to who ever asked for them - no proof required that it was your room. The looky Looky men were allowed to wander in and around the pool area any time day or night. The security in this hotel was diabolical. Thomas Cook knew that there were bags being stolen from new arrivals but did not warn us during transfer or people arriving after us - shame on them!!
For a cheap all inclusive it was fine. The hotel was clean however there was only one socket in the room which was in the bathroom above the sink!
The food was OK if a bit repetitive however it suited our purposes and a good time was had by all!

The food was nice but not much variety for children.
The hotel was right in the middle of the bay shops either way out of the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The entertainment was good there was parrot shows, Spanish dancers, mini disco for children, comedian, drag artists not very well liked by the children. The kids club excellent my children loved it the kids reps Sam and Fiona were brilliant.
I would definitely visit this hotel again. There was 2 small children's pools and two good sized pools one being heated with plenty of sunbeds there was a jacuzzi in the pool.
The all-inclusive was brilliant with as much food and drink and ice-lollies as you could eat great value for money lots of variety of lollies.

The evening entertainment was very good we found the drag artists and dancers very good. We never went in for lunch as we were quite happy just to get a snack by the pool drinks were very plentiful.
We got a safe deposit box in the room but we felt quite safe in our room. there were small locks on the patio door and room.
The breakfast was excellent everything you could possibly want to eat the evening meal were quite basic with not a huge choice but there was always chips and salad. we had a very good holiday and all enjoyed the happy relaxed atmosphere.

| said: Found this hotel really good for a family - the only thing I would say is that the food is not fantastic for small children, however, the snack bar does chicken nuggetts/fish fingers etc so this was not a major problem.
We had no problem with noise and was informed by the rep that if we did then to contact reception and they would sort it out. We hired a safety deposit box which is in your room and there are locks on the patio doors, so can't understand how some people have had problems with things being stolen.
The pools were excellent and we found there was lots of sunbeds.
Overall - would give this hotel 8/10 and would go back.

| said: Have just returned from a week at the Bergantin with our 2 year old daughter and had a lovely time.
The staff are friendly and all spoke excellent english. The food is nice with a good variety each night. There is also a snack bar by the pool so you can have a burger, etc if you don't fancy the restaurant for lunch. The all inclusive bar is excellent as we found no limitations to the drinks you could have, although, beers, spirits, etc are all local but still taste great!!
This hotel has 2 large and 2 childrens pools, all really nice. The main pool is excellent with loads of sunbeds, the only reason to put your towels down early is if you require an umbrella as well. We found this hotel excellent for a family but also found lots of younger couples/groups also enjoyed it.
If we were returning to San Antonio Bay then we would stay here again.

| said: Would not recommend this hotel to families there is alot of noise during the early hours when the younger ones return from the nightclubs shouting swearing doors slamming etc.
The walls of the rooms are extremely thin you can hear the guests in the surrounding rooms as though they were in your room and the hotel do not put the single groups away from the families.
After talking to a number of guests with children it was apparant that they were also having the same problems which resulted with parents having to get out of bed in the middle of the night to either tell the culprits to shut up or to go down stairs to complain to reception. If you want sleep at night, this is not the hotel for you.
Then there is the problem of theives....On our first night one of the parties in our group were robbed in the early hours while they slept in bed.....yes really. They didnt hear anything due to having a few drinks before retiring, but woke the next morning to find their room door wide open and wallet on the hallway floor. By the way the doors to two of our three rooms didnt close properly a firm push would open them without the key, which we complained about on arrival but nothing was done.
We did have safety deposit boxes but didnt think we would need to use them when we were actually in the room, more fool us. We were not the only people to be robbed that night either. Two other guests were also robbed one of them being a women with her young daughter the staff said they checked the security cameras but could not see anything because the cameras had been turned towards the wall.
I returned from this holiday ill and was advised to have tests for Hepatitus which you can contract through food etc.The rooms are cleaned daily with clean towels but the snack bar cook handles uncooked burgers etc then prepares the salad and bread buns. Enough said.
This hotel is ok for singles but be vigilant.

| said: I stayed in this hotel in June 2005 there were all together 10 of us aged between 19 and 24.
When getting to this hotel I thought it looked lovely on arrival. The rooms were nice and clean, with a powerful shower, lots of channels on the TV, lots of room. The only problem was plugs, there was only 1 plus and that was used by the t.v which was up on a hight, so it was difficult to dry my hair as I had to stand on a set of draws. The rooms were cleaned and the towels changed a few times in the two weeks, I think that was because I was asleep all day and clubbing all night.
Warning: Becareful of noise, this includes laughing, playing music in the afternoon and talking to the above balconies, we had sill complaints about us the whole holiday and the staff on reception would watch us on the CCTV which is everywhere!! you are watched 24/7 other then in your room. The food was boring and the staff sometimes were un friendly, oh and the entertainment... if you could call it that was terrible, so annoying!!! drove me insane.

| said: The Bergantin just does not deserve some of the poor write ups it has been given. We went back for the 2nd time in May and the staff remembered us from last year...!
My son was always referred to as 'guapo' or 'ojos marrones' which means 'beautiful' and 'brown eyes'. Although this is Ibiza- the locals do speak spanish and the odd spanish phrase does not go amiss. I used to leave little notes in Spanish thanking the cleaning staff, and I would always ask for drinks in spanish. But that is just me as I speak fluent Spanish and French. Having said that, the staff treated everyone with great respect while we were there - spanish, english, german etc etc. Ok- the food is not great- but you have an abundance of restaurants on the door step.
If you go on holiday - even all inclusive- and expect to only eat and drink at the same hotel; you should stay at home and save yourself money!
The site is perfect- we had no noise trouble at all. I did however have an accident on site as a result of several 'humps' in the roadway leading to reception (hotel owned). The thomas cook rep was very helpful (shame the same cannot be said for thomas cook themselves who did not bother contacting me to see how my injury was).
Anyway- back onto the good stuff- the entertainment is dire- but great aswell! We would get woken up at 10 am (if my son hadn't woken us up already) with 'Good Morning and welcome to todays entertainment...' You did get this in about 5 different languages, but hey it was amusing (for us!). They also play VENGABOY 'Were going to Ibiza' so great if you were born early 80's like me!
Cafe Royal has gone to the dogs- if you were a fan- you wont be anymore as JACKIE has gone to pastures new. However, come out of the hotel onto the main road and turn left or right and there are at least 5-10 decent restaurants/ pubs.
A word of warning- if you want to use the phone use that small hire shop on the main road (opposite the junction where the bergantin is) it is sooo cheap and the staff get to know you. Be careful with the main souvenir stores - they overcharge you. But- when you argue with them in their native tongue and then warn off English tourists passing by, they are surprisingly accommodating!
Cant wait to go back!

Rep was useless he did not bother to try and alleviate our concerns. We also heard reports that the cleaners were theives so although we didn't get anything taken I would advise the use of a safe.
Evening entertainment was a disgrace, one night the staff were asking for adults to compete in who was the best at pretending to be sick on stage. No need for this at a family resort.
The hotel is in a good position but only if your the type of person that enjoys Blackpool, no great sights to see but the walk into San Antonio Town is peaceful if you go along the beach.
I could go on forever about the bad points but it's easier to say DON'T GO it will save me time and you wasted money.

| said: Very nice hotel, good play area for children and had 3 good sized pools. Food was nice but got a bit repetative after a fortnight, and the snack bar only served the very basics, but the kids could help themselves to icecream all day and night. The kids club only seemed geared up for German children and the majority of the guests were German and French - very few English.
Our room was cleaned every day and the staff in general were polite but not overly welcoming. Hotel in a good position, only a short walk to shops etc. but nearest beach only 2 mins walk was rocky, and would recommend walking 5 mins to beach further along which was really lovely.
Would go back to San Antonio Bay just for the wonderful sunsets, but maybe to a different hotel.
