| said: This was the first time we had been to Ibiza , Portinax did not disappoint! If you are after nightlife/raves and the club scene then you will be dissapointed as Portinax is a very small village with a few fun pubs (Del boys bar/Vincents) but we mostly stayed at our Hotel as we were All inclusive.El greco! were do i start?,Cleanliness, spot on ,beleive me when i say my wife is fussy and even she gave this a 5* rating,Food was good (not great 5* stuff but enough variety and choice to fill most stomachs!),Location is fantastic, right on the beach which in its self is a beatiful little beach, pedlos available to hire and the snorkelling is great ,loads of fish come right into the shallow areas so kids can drop bread in to feed them! very safe and life guards always on duty.Staff were freindly and attentive and my kids are 11 and 8 yrs and were made up with Barry/Elainer and Nicky (the fantastic entertasinment team) Pool,Darts,Beach footy and this weird board game were played every day for both the kids then the adults (great way to get to know fellow residents) Night time entertainment is the usual stuff ,great for kids , we never seen are 2 from 8pm Mini disco till the acts had finished at 11pm!Bonus!!Pool area is cramped and to get a bed by pool you had to get up at 6am and place a tyowel on it !so we used to go to the water park a hop across the beach away that opened at 11am and found we always got 3 or 4 beds together with a parasol if we got to the gates for 10.45am,as this is attached to the hotel your wrist band gets you entry and your All inclusive status remains at the pool bar , although selection is limited at this small bar beer/coke/fanta/lollys/ice cream only which was a bit of a dissapointment after being used to the normal bar in the hotel. The slides were great ,yes only four off them but kept us happy for ten days !Must say that the comments about steps everywere are true but dont let this put you off as it isnt as bad as some people make out! We would definately return to El greco and hope to book for next year pretty soon. All in all a fantastic family freindly hotel.
Ps forgot to say although Portinax is small there is all you need in the town ie Cash machine/Doctors surgery/Chemist/Tobbaconist/Spar type shop etc
Enjoy

I would say that we went at the end of half term and the hotel was very busy for those few days. During the following week, it was very quiet but perfect. Probably during the peak season, the hotel may be too busy and noisy for some.

| said: we have just returned from a 10 night family break to this hotel. This is the first time i have visited ibiza and we werent dissapointed.Portinax was beautiful and the beach is stunning. The connected water park was great for the kids but it is small and sunbeds are very limited, never the less we spent some fun days there.
The hotel was lovely and very clean, the pool area could have been larger however it did not spoil our holiday and we spent a couple of nice days arount the pool. The rooms where sufficient and met all our needs.the lifts where small and you did have to wait a while to get it,however this was only a issue for us as we had a buggy and as this hotel is extremley pushchair and wheelchair unfreindly, there could have been more sufficient lifts.
this hotel is surrounded by steps and although this did not spoil our holiday,it was very tiring with a pushcair as you couldnt go anywhere(not even down to the pool witought having to tackle 2-3 flights of stairs.
There where a couple of things that really let this hotel down for us:-
The ALL INCLUSIVE title was more like a full board. We where very dissapointed with the all inclusive.there is no snack bar etc and all food has to be eaten in the dining area meaning that you had to get all dried(no swimwear allowed in the dining hall),dressed, then struggle up the stairs to the dining room.there where set out dining times ,breakfast, lunch and dinner.there was also an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon where you could go to dining room for snack, however this was a complete joke as it was left overs from breakfast and lunch (small amount of leftovers).1 tray of ham and 1 of cheese and bread. That was every day at each snack. No food was allowed out of the dining area and i saw thechasing people on a couple of occassions that had taken a packet of biscuits out to there child. We found our children did not want to leave the pool area to go to the dining hall for snack/lunch so they where going withought.we asked if we could take a sandwich out to them but we where told NO.
The ice cream is in very small tubs and there was 2 flavours of basic ice lollies. The only thing good about this all inclusive was the drinks, you could get a drink up untill 11 however they are served in very small plastic cups so you would need to get 4 beers to equall a pint!.
This hotel seemed to be a hotspot for german guests which we found to be very rude and pushed infront of us etc.Our child was crying on a couple of occassions and the stares of utter disgust made us feel very self concious, and believe me they where stares which they made no effort of being discreet
All in all we ad a really good holiday however we wouldnt return as we have seen all that portinax has to offer,it was stunning but little to do so you could get fed up easily. Also the all inclusive was a big let down and you can get much better AI deals for your money.
Im sure you will enjoy your time at te elgreco x

| said: This hotel is the one to book if you are going to stay in portinatx. The hotel is in a prime location, down the steps to the beach. The pool area was really not adequate for the size of the hotel and seemed a little dangerous with sunbeds right near the edge of the pool but we just crossed the sand and sunbathed in the waterpark which was a great bonus to this hotel.Drinks in waterpark are also included in the AI. Excellent for the kids and adults although not many slides it kept us entertained every day for the week. The food was fine, a dedicated pizza area and all the bread was baked fresh in the restaurant.Maids actually talked and the bar staff were great.
Entertainment was ok,but if you see a sign for elvis at the hotel stay away, it was an old bloke who didnt even sound like him, absolute rubbish. A much better elvis night was held in vincents bar which i recommend.

| said: The El Greco is very clean, our rooms were cleaned every day. The air conditioning was fantastic with a Quiet mode so you cold have it on all night and it didn't keep you awake. The food was O.K. but very bland and repetative. The location is great, on the beach, down some steps,Not suitable for wheel chairs or people with mobility problems. The hotel staff were generally very helpfull, however some found it very difficult to smile and should not be in the service industry. The entertainment was good with different and varied acts most nights. You also have the added advantage of the water park, where the drinks and ice creams are included, One of the annoying things about the hotel is the use of cheap, small plastic cups they serve the drinks in for outside, perhaps larger cups would be better this would reduce the cues and you would't have to keep going to the bar every five minutes. The infamous smell was not a big issue, it wasn't really noticable.
Generally this is a good clean hotel with reasonable food and in a good position and I would return.

| said: Our first trip to Ibiza and our first taste of All Inclusive. We werent sure what to expect and in summary I would imagine the majority of people would love this place. We had a good holiday but rather than just repeat what others have said I will give a critical view.
Firstly, the steps! The whole hotel is built pretty much on the side of a hill so it drops down in levels quite sharply. From leaving the hotel dining room area there were about 14 steps down to an upper terrace which was quite narrow and not much use as it was shaded all day. Then there were another 14 steps to the lower terrace where the outdoor bar was positioned (again narrow and shaded during the day) and then a further 10 steps to the pool and stage area (once again narrow with a number of sunbeds in the shade for large parts of the day). To leave the hotel you had to go back up to the upper terrace (thats 24 steps up) and then leave by the far gate and go down about 30 steps to the beach. In the mid day sun you soon get fed up of going up and down, up and down and I`m in very good nick! God help you if you aren`t a good walker.
The pool was WAY too small for the size of hotel, even at 7.30am every decent sunbed was taken with towels and NOBODY was sitting on them until at least 9am, very annoying. Yes, the Water Park across the way was brilliant for the kids but if I`m being critical, it didn`t open til 11am and there was a bunfight to get in and bag the best sunbeds. There were about 4 canvas beds that tilted, the rest were white flat plastic beds without adjustment and they look like they have never been cleaned, some of them were actually completely broken but they were never moved. At weekends there wasn`t enough sunbeds to go round.
The show stage by the hotel pool suffered because of its position, only about 20 or so tables were in front of it, the rest were out to the sides which meant watching any show was difficult. In any case, the standard of performer was pretty poor. The kids weren`t interested at all. To be fair, the entertainment staff were very good, always smiling, not their fault you couldnt see. Also, the pool/stage area is so small that every evening at 7pm they closed the area for 1 hour while they stacked up all the sunbeds and put the tables out. Bit more queueing for a bunfight to get the best tables. Elbows out and a silly fast walk (nobody likes to run to the tables now do they!)Then they reversed this at about 11.30pm to get ready for morning. No wonder the bar staff didn`t smile much. They must have been knackered doing that every day!
Inside the hotel, there were 6 floors but only 2 small lifts. You could wait 5 minutes or more for a lift to arrive and quite often it would be full. More walking up 4 flights of stairs for us! Fantastic.
Food? It was more than edible but a bit boring after a few days, we ate out a few times for some relief. I guess when you`ve paid all inclusive you want your moneys worth which meant that you found yourself strangely drawn to the hotel to the extent that your daily agenda is dictated by the meal times.
The dining room was packed at all times and while we never had to queue as such it was definately like joining the M25. Any sudden stop or change of direction ended in multiple pile ups of people. If you missed the beans it was safest to go all the way round the buffet and pick some up on your next lap to avoid carnage! `excuse me, excuse me, sorry, sorry, excuse me, sorry, excuse me` is the order of the day.
As mentioned elsewhere, if you`re Spanish they were all over you, smiles a plenty and couldn`t do enough. English? Don`t expect so much as a nod of acknowledgement.
A major disappointment was the `snacks` in between meal times. The morning snacks were what was left of breakfast, the afternoon snacks were cake selections from the evening menu and there were no evening snacks at all. All food was up in the hotel dining room so up those stairs you go! I have to say I was expecting hotdogs or similar to be served but there was nothing.
Drinks - Belter! Nothing wrong there, yes the bar shut at 11pm for free alcohol but in a family hotel I think thats fair enough. No sign of `watered down` drinks either. Yes they use smal plastic cups but if you want 10 drinks at once they give you 10, no problem!
Smell - I can only guess that once upon a time it stunk because its barely noticeable and if everyone didn`t keep going on about it you wouldn`t even pass comment.
Staff - Hmmm, the hotel is so big they treat you like its school dinners. It was our sons birthday, I asked for a cake. `No` was the response from the Restaraunt Manager. Just `No`, nothing else. Seriously, if he smiled I`m sure his face would crack. (unless you were spanish of course)
Rooms - 2 big double beds, a good bathroom and good wardrobe space. It did its job and the cleaners did their bit well enough. Good modern effective air con in the room. I woke up too cold almost every night and had to switch it off. As I understand it we were in a family room. There are no rooms with a seperate bedroom (not 100% about that but fairly sure) If you have teenage kids you won`t find it ideal at all.
If you know this hotel you may think this review is too harsh. We had a great holiday and I wouldn`t want to put people off but what I have written is how I see it. Would we go back? Probably not unless it was cheap enough (which it wasn`t!). Would I recommend it? Probably not unless you are stuck for options (which we were). Its the `least best` hotel I`ve ever stopped in which is more to do with the size of the place and the fact it was AI (which I wouldn`t do again) rather than the star rating but after reading the reviews I got exactly what I expected and with that in mind it was a nice break but perhaps not quite the lazy relaxing retreat I had in mind. Happy Step climbing:-)

| said: Just returned from a 2 week break in Hotel El Greco. The hotel was lovely and clean and the maid was fantastic. My teenger found it difficult to get out of bed before 11.30am and she was always very considerate to let him have a lie in.
The staff were all very friendly except Mr Moody on the hotplate, whom I don't think wants to be working!!!. There was always a good variety of food on offer which was very well displayed, and excellent including the pizza bar which my son took a liking too.
The entertainment was not very good for teenagers. They have clubs up till 12 years old. Unfortunately my son is 13 years old and found I spent a fortune dishing out euros for the pool table which is 2E a game and the internet access which was 1E for 10 mins, not including the other games machines available.
The hotel location was very nice, but not for people with young children, disabilities or the elderly as it is situated in a very hilly Portinax, so be warned.
Although I enjoyed my relaxing holiday at El Greco, Portinax, feel there is little to do there and wont be returning.

| said: We have just returned from 7 nights at the Hotel El Greco and have had a wonderful time. The whole hotel is spotless and the rooms are cleaned daily. Some of the pictures on the web do not do the rooms justice as they have recently been refurbished and this is not reflected in some websites.
There were 21 in our party ranging in age from 3 to 79 and we all had a great time. The only downside being the steps to the pool for the grandparents as it was just too much for them to manage everyday.
The food in the restaurant was fantastic and the show cooking area as good as anywhere.
The famous smell, yes some members of our party did have a faint smell in their rooms on occasions but they just plugged the plugholes with cotton wool and this seemed to do the trick.
The evening entertainment was a little poor and in the evening it was hard to find a quiet area but this was because the entertainment was indoors but in the height of the season I understand the entertainment is outside.
The water park was good for the 9 year olds but a bit small for the teenagers.
The main compliment of the hotel - you only find out how good a hotel and it's staff are in an emergency and unfortunately on our first day we did have a serious medical emergency when my mum aged 78 needed medical attention, the staff especially Jackie on reception were fantastic. They called the ambulance and even went out looking for it in their own vehicles when they thought it was taking too long to arrive. They translated to the paramedics and for the remainder of the week nothing was too much trouble, although Jackie did say if we were ever planning on going back to the El Greco to let her know so she could request the time off!!
I would definitely recommend the El Greco to anyone, especially for 7 nights, don’t believe all the poor reviews the hotel is a gem.

| said: Just come home from our holiday at the El Greco. We had a really good time. The hotel was clean, our rooms were big enough and were cleaned daily. You couldnt fault the cleaners.
Stayed all inclusive and the food was better than other all inclusive holidays we have been on. A good variety and even my fussy 4 year old was happy.
The entertainement was very repetitive during the day but there seemed to be loads of people joining in. The evening entertainment was the norm for an all inclusive hotel. I think we had 5 nights out of the 10 when outside entertainement came in and the other nights were being done by the resident entertainers, Patty and Barry. It started off with mini disco which our 4 youngest kids loved, then onto bingo with the main entertainment starting at 10pm, which we found to be a bit too late. Most of the bar staff were friendly but Carlos 'the boss' had a grumpy head on at all times. The bar shut for all inclusive at 11pm (you could still get drinks up to 12pm) and we found many people complaining about this as the entertainment was still going on. It didnt bother us as we would get a few extra at quarter to 11 to last us.
The location wasnt a problem either with us. Yes there were loads of steps but we managed ok even with a buggy. The beach was brilliant and the few shops were enough for us. It meant we didnt have to spend too much money.
The pool area could have been bigger though and the pool itself was freezing. We also had a problem trying to get hold of umbrellas. I counted them one day and there were only 8 to be used, which isnt enough for the 240 odd rooms.
The Thompsons kids clubs were also brilliant. Our kids had a great time with Kate and Rachel. My eldest made loads of friends.
The pool area was really the only downside to the whole holiday. We didnt have brilliant weather either but there is nothing you can do about that!!! All in all a great holiday was had by all.
PS - Only on 2 occasions did we smell a sewage smell and it wasnt bad, it last a few mins (if that).

| said: 2nd visit and what a disapointment. After being spoilt 3 years ago with a massive room, we were allocated a room that was no-where near large enough for 2 adults 2 kids (aged 9 and 7) and an 18 month old baby who is still in a cot (I know I said I would only go back when I could do away with the buggy but things happen!). Luckily for us our 4 year old was next door with friends. Not even enough room to store the suitcases so they got put in the bathroom and got soaked every day due to the shower screen not being sufficient.
Again, we couldn't fault the food. More than enough choice to alternate daily.
The staff didn't seem as friendly this time around although 1 or 2 were the exception and were very friendly especially towards the kids.
The night time entertainment started after the mini disc (which lasted about 40 minutes and consisted of about 5 songs!) at about 21:10. It was very repetitive with bingo and then the scheduled act.
Please note...there is nothing for the older kids to do at night. There are 4 pool tables and about 5 game machines. Other than that the lifts and the stairwells seemed to be the activity of choice.
Would I go back to this hotel? Not when I compare it to my first visit but we were obviously spoilt then.

The smell everyone mentions is not that bad and rare.
The food is excellent which so much choice. The choice of drinks is very good and you only have to pay after 11pm and the bar closes at 12.30am.
The staff are excellent and work very hard (give them a tip early in your holiday and you will be well looked after, remember they don't get paid that well).
The water park is open everyday apart from Saturdays and a great sun catch, there are lots of sunbeds over there.
Under the stairs in the hotel is normally a pile of inflatable beds which the last guests have left so help yourself, not that they are expensive in the shops.
The rooms are basic but comfortable.
Hope you have a fab holiday!

The hotel was a bit dated but kept very clean. Maids came in every day to tidy beds, change towels etc.
We found the food a bit disappointing, its ok if you like burger, chips, pizza etc but not if you like healthy food.
The entertainment was ok, mini disco every night for the kids but played the same songs which got a bit boring. My daughter enjoyed kidzone whose staff were a bit mad.
There are lots of steps around the hotel and down to the pool and beach which leads to the water park. This only had 4 slides but was still good.
I wouldn't visit this hotel again because of the noise and the food.

| said: After reading some of the previous reports posted, we were a bit nervous before we got to this hotel but we needn't have worried.
The hotel is very clean and the food was excellent. There was plenty of choice - yes, they did start repeating things after a few days but there was so much to choose from, it would only be repetitive if you wanted it to be.
The staff were friendly and the entertainment team were brilliant.
We didn't have much problem with kids running riot - they were left to their own devices a lot but I think that's because there's not much to do outside of the hotel.
The view from the hotel was worth the money alone. There is a bit of a pong now and then but you get used to it after a couple of days.
The evening entertainment isn't brilliant and it's all done out in the pool area but when we were there, you had to be out there to get a table by 8.00pm and the shows didn't start til 10.00pm so it was a long time to sit. The pool bar was nice and handy though even if you do have to drink out of plastic cups. Delboys and Vincents in the resort centre do some good entertainment if you want to get away from the hotel for an evening.
The water park was OK - no general swimming area though so if you didn't want to be up and down the slides all the time, you were a bit stuck for something to do.
There weren't enough sunbeds and you could forget getting one unless you were there at the crack of dawn but the beach was only a few steps away.
The hotel isn't any good for anyone not too mobile as there are steps everywhere and you have to walk across the beach to the resort centre.
A couple of complaints that I did have was firstly that our room was very cramped for two adults and a 13 year old who is now the size of an adult. There wasn't enough room to put clothes away so we ended up having to keep our stuff in the suitcases.
The other thing was that although there is a no smoking area in the bar - the smoking area is nearest the bar and you also have to walk through it to get to the restaurant. This wasn't very pleasant as this area of the bar was always packed.

Excellent food, nice clean rooms, and the entertainment team were mental. Stanley has so much energy, Leah is so pretty and Evette is stunningly beautiful. (I would have liked to have left the wife and brought her home instead).
As others have said the hotel has lots of steps and is on different levels.
Sometimes there is a whiff on something from the beach area.
The free water park is beginning to look a bit tired, they have tried to touch it up a bit. I think it must be over ten years old know. I can remember when it was brand new.
I can't really say anything bad about our stay this year or about any of our other stays.
We would stay here again.

Rooms of a fair size and clean.
Food was not bad, not enough selection for children really.
Entertainment was not too bad.
Some staff were very friendly while others were not at all quite snotty in fact.
The steps were terrible especially when you have got a pram. No facilities for disabled people whatsoever. Great location right on the beach.
Would never return to hell Greco/smell Greco not in a million years.

The downside is outside, there are not enough sun beds (people queued each morning from 8 o clock for a bed even though area did not open until 9 (the Germans have nothing on this lot).
Hotel appears to be packed to bursting point and why oh why do people not keep an eye on their kids when they are on holiday. Gangs of noisy teenagers, lots of little kids running riot to name but two examples. Our daughter did not like being in the hotel in the evening she felt intimidated by "Chavs" (her words not mine she is 13).
Did not like drinking out of plastic cups, had to head for the bars. Water park ok.

I need not have worried, the food was excellent - loads of choice with plenty of fruit and a childrens menu - fresh pizzas and meat cooked in front of you - show cooking.
The Maids were lovely, polite and very efficient cleaning our room every morning and changing towels as often as you thought needed - leave them on the floor and they get changed, hang them up means you will use again.
We did not experience problems with children in the hotel and our children loved the Kidzone Club, there is no doubt a lot of children but after all it is a family hotel. We took a buggy with us and there are steps around the hotel and down to the beach but they didn't cause us a big problem. The Hotel Entertainment Team - Stanley, Leah & Evette were great, very friendly and put every effort into trying to make the holiday a happy one for adults & children.
At the end of the day - a holiday is what you make it and yes you have to drink out of platic cups - but glass in the pool area is not safe - there is a drainage smell now and then but you are in a hot country and can get that in lots of places, if you join in the fun and make super friends like we did you will have a fantastic time.

We loved the hotel food, repetitive, as are most AI hotels catering for large numbers, but food was hot when it should be and cold when it should be. The pizzas are delicious. Show cooking every evening with theme foods also i.e Chinese, Italian etc.
The hotels location is close to the beach via numerous steps, be aware if travelling with small children in buggies or if you have mobility problems as there are many steps! The waterpark is a very short walk across the beach and is free to guests of the hotel, a small waterpark but handy.
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
The entertainment of our first week was really good, but we were abit disappointed with our second week's offerings. The parrot show was on twice and most of the evening was spent selling photographs with the actual show taking 10 mins only. There's bingo every evening also. The animation team were really good and very friendly. Lots of activities on through the day both in the pool and out. Something for all ages and abilities.
One downside to the hotel was allowing 'freelance photographers' to come into the hotel grounds on a regular basis, asking to take your photo. If you say no they do leave you alone until next time. Be warned!
We would visit this hotel again, yes.

The food was ok but it was a repeat after a couple of days.
The weather was ok 8 had 2 days of rain there but I went in June.
The cleaners was in your rooms about 9-10 time and did a very good job of it as well most of the reps and waiters were very nice to talk to.
The entertainment wasn't very good had a lot of screaming kids running round and also running up and down your floor at 7 in the morning wasn't very nice to be listening to.
After 11 you have to pay for your drinks but there is 2 bars over the beach that are really good called Delboys and Vincents but Delboys bar is fantastic for all ages they do karaokes quiz nights also things for little ones to.
Over all the resort was nice, very nice beach. I would go back there but it isn't for the 18-25 type people without kids its a very relaxing holiday but it was very nice and clean.

Food okay but not enough snacks for people during the day if you didn't want to go in the dining room all the time to get them.
Nice location.
Hotel staff very busy but most were very quiet didn't speak at all.
Not enough to keep the kids entertained mostly singers and to loud couldn't talk without shouting to each other. We knew it was a family hotel but kids seemed to be left to their own devices.
Would not go back to that hotel but might see if there was any quieter hotels in the same area. Went with my daughter and her two kids but it was even to noisy for them. Hotel Elgreco bedlam.
Pool could have been closed off from little kids as they could run around freely. Not elderly friendly or people with back problems to many steps to the beech to high of a climb.

The down side was the amount of children that are left to run around particularly at night up and down the hall ways! However this was dealt with by the staff very quickly. We had to complain about a room on floor 5 playing loud music also.
The cleaners were very good and friendly and came around between 8,30 and 9 in the morning each day.
The food the first week was great but the second week wasn't so good and if your children don't want to eat burgers every lunch time can be a struggle to find something for them. My children loved the joints of meat that the show cook did but we only saw 4 joints the whole fortnight.
The location was excellent for us but due to the amount of steps down to the beach would be unsuitable for people with walking difficulties or buggies. The resort is quite small but you feel extremely safe there. The beach itself is a beautiful place and we spent nearly every day on it.
We never saw much of the entertainment as the mini disco finished at 9 and the adult entertainment didn't start till 10pm. I think this is why the children we hyper on a night!
Staff polite and friendly.
I would give this holiday 8 out of 10, deduct one for the food and one for the amount of children doing as they please and parents not bothering on what their children were up too.

When we arrived from a delayed flight it was 6am in the morning we had to get are bands on which the staff made us wake our 3 year old up to put on, then we had to find our room we were on the 5th floor with 2 young children which I was not happy about.
We had noise from coaches arriving all night the food was ok for a week but not the best we have had.
For all inclusive holiday the pool was to small for the size of the hotel the water park is not a safe place for young children and the day we went there was no life guard.
The entertainment was poor where your stuck inside a smoky room full of drunks people falling over and shouting.
My kids did enjoy themselves here and made friends with others and the beach was right at your hotel
The rooms where small you could not move.
People we spoked to all felt the same about this hotel I think it needs a revamp its very out dated.
I would go back to Ibiza with my family but not to hell greco never again for us.

| said: Big shock arriving at about 11pm in the evening, the noise was unbelievable!!! We wondered what we'd let ourselves in for.
Entertainment is housed on the lower ground floor, all stone floors, all reverberating to the noise of too loud speakers (you couldn't hear what they were on about). Too many kids, and adults intent on trying to kill themselves even more by breathing in other peoples smoke and a competition on how many drinks you can line up on your table by 11pm when you have to pay for your drinks. Very nearly checked out at this point.
Next day was calmer thank goodness, oh except for the night time corridor revellers who insisted on either running up and down like mad things (kids) or adults whistling at 1am in the morning and banging doors. The most amazing thing on the first night was a couple making love possibly in the next room, very entertaining!!!
The hotel is situated in a very nice cove, clean and safe for swimming, the downside is the smell....why they don't do something about it is beyond me.
Food was good, weather was good except for 1 1/2 days.

Can't complain about the food. The waiter staff were pleasant although the manager of the restaurant was not at all helpful.
The entertainment was basically not the shows were poor.
The view restricted it didn't cater for a large taste.
The sewage smell was a problem and I genuinely believe the water not treated correctly every one in our party came back with ear, throat, stomach infections resulting in a hospital visit for one of the party and the kids off school.
The access to the hotel is bad for parents with small kids as access to the beach is not easy with buggy's and the noise is bad.
I was very disappointed with this holiday and cannot recommend it to anyone especially if you have teenagers as there is nothing for them to do. In saying that some people go every year but having travelled a lot I can assure you this is not the best place on this planet you will ever visit.

Couldn't have a lay in as the cleaners were there first thing in the morning.
Food was brilliant. Staff were doing hand signals which I later found out from one waiter to be a rude gester at us as guests.
Reps were very noisy at 3:30am we got the blame from the hotel staff so I threw all three reps in the pool fully clothed might I add.
There wasn't any good entertainment for the adults for us we ended going to delboys bar (a must for anyone).
Steps steps and more bloody steps(get a lift put in for disabled and elderly people).
Table tennis had no net, volleyball had a net but was tied to a tree and a brick wall near the pool( get new equipment).
Pool was freezing even when the weather was hot(chop the four trees down near the pool).
Even had to pay 3 euro per child for night entertainment, would I go back again to HELL GRECO not even if I won the holiday.....

The rooms where very clean.
For the first four days the food was very good but it just got repeated day in day out.
The holiday reps were very good but the resort had let us down by charging the kids for every game of pool at 2 euros each game but the bar round the corner only charges 1 euro. Don't go to Vincents bar as kids can drink from sixteen and it's just a pick up point for young Brit girls.
Go to Delboys.
After 4 days we were ready for home but our luck had changed when 2 family,s arrived on the Saturday of our first week. They become very good friends of ours and we had a wonderful time from then. When it was time for us to go we didn't want to, as, we wanted to spend more time with them. I can say Neil and Mel & kids were honest and true friends and we miss them to this day. We are going to go and see them very soon just shows.

The rooms were on the 1st floor and were a little small, especially for 3 people, but the air conditioning and satellite television made up for that in some way. Our balcony overlooked the hotel entrance, and didn't have much of a view, but I wasn't too bothered about that.
Hotel noise wasn't too much of a problem, even though there were a lot of kids there.
The bathroom had a shower and bath, and was a fairly good size. Maid service came every day (sometimes a little too early for my liking), but they always did a good job of cleaning and were polite.
Hotel food was very good, and had a wide range of food for all ages and tastes. Food hall was a big size and kept constantly clean and tidy by friendly staff.
Entertainment was good, they had a kids club and friendly entertainers providing entertainment throughout the day and night. Bingo and/or a quiz was every night, followed by a special performance after that.
The smell of sewage was there, but only encountered it about 5 or 6 times throughout the holiday, it didn't affect the holiday.
The hotel has a decent sized waterpark with 4 or 5 slides and a bar positioned well at the bottom of all the chutes!! Made for easy transport for another drink.
The beach was positioned very close to the hotel, only had to walk through the bar and out near the pool to the steps, and there were only about 10 or so steps, nothing too bad. Yes, the pool was small, but we just took the choice to go to the beach and get a sunbed or two.

The hotel was better than expected, could not fault the room or the cleaning staff. Although tea making facilities in the room would have been a bonus, room was big enough for what we wanted to do in it, {sleeping}.
Food was very good, but they could of put a few more potatoes on, they think we like chips with everything.
The staff work very very hard, and are always polite and friendly.
The reps were wonderful, and very helpful.
Entertainment was what you would expect. Personally not for me, but the kids and older people in our party loved it. A couple of points to remember...... the bar finishes at 11-00 pm, no last orders it just stops. After 11-00pm you have to pay for drinks, take a Frisbee to carry drinks on, they use flimsy plastic glasses.
There is more to see on the island, hire a car, there is definitely a smell, sometimes worse than others.
If you want a sun bed be prepared to queue from 7-30am, with all the sad people.
The pool area is not big enough for all the people, but there is a beautiful beach at the bottom of the steps, one more little thing whatever you here about the Germans and theiresunbeds the Brits will take some beating.

| said: The Hotel was spotless. One morning I counted no less than 6 cleaners in the bar area alone.
We had clean towels every day and the floor was brushed every day. Top marks for the cleaners.
The room we had was a family room and absolutely massive (about 25 / 30 feet long). It contained 2 single beds a sofa/bed, a pull out bed and another sofa (which could easily double for another bed). Next to our bed was a cot. There was still more than enough room to swing a cat (if you're into that sort of thing!)
The view was of the beach and the pool.
The only drawback to the room was that we had the inside bar above us and the poolside bar directly beneath us...noisy or what?
Didn't bother us but the kids usually went to bed at about 11:00 and the entertainment by the pool bar didn't finish til about 12 or 12:30.
We couldn't fault the food. Yes, it was a bit repetitive but there was enough choice to alternate every day. I tended to go with the "Show Cooking" most days so you saw the food being cooked and there was a choice between fish (salmon, swordfish) and meat (roast beef, pork chops).
The daytime entertainment wasn't for us (beach volleyball, water polo, yoga) but it was there if you wanted it. We tended to stick to the beach or the water park. If you go into the see go on the right hand side as you look out. There are loads of pebbles hidden under the seaweed on the left hand side which play havoc with your feet.
The water park has 2 fast slides for the more daring, 2 slower slides for the big kids and a separate swimming pool with it's own slide for the toddlers.
Nighttime entertainment varied between singers, trained parrots (or parts as the Irish rep kept saying!) and a magician (which the kids loved).
All this came after the kids mini disco which seemed typical of most Spanish resorts but they all loved it.
The friendliest staff seemed to be the "workers"...Cleaners, waiting staff. The others could do with smiling once in a while although they were efficient and got the job done.
The reps worked their socks off. Usually the reps doing the night time entertainment were the ones doing the day time entertainment as well. Top marks for them also.
Hints and tips....
The "few" steps from the Hotel to the beach turned out to be 53. Call me picky but this is not a few.
Had arms like Popeye when I got back through carrying the baby or the buggy or the baby IN the buggy.
Get a frisbee if you want one but you can easily carry 4 drinks in the squishy cups.
On arrival you get a wristband (so you don't pay for things). If you are right handed, get it on your left wrist. I nearly cut myself to bits in the shower on the first couple of days. They could do with using a softer plastic for these.
Overall I would definitely return to this hotel when we can do away with the buggy and would recommend it to anyone.

We spent 75% of our time on the lovely beach to avoid chasing my 17 month old daugter up and down the steps all day, which appear very dangerous and a number of adults slipped on them during our stay. The pool area was too small for the number of guests and many spent their time on the beach as we did.
The Aqua Park was excellent but is certainly in need of some TLC as the are many cracked paving slabs and other maintenance problems.
The cleanliness within the hotel is second to none and the reception staff were excellent. The Thompson reps were also extremely helpful and are always on hand. Don'y worry about buying inflatables, buckets and spades etc, as most of the guests leave theirs behind in the recption area for other guests to use, which is a superb idea organised by the tour reps.
The entertainment is very hit and miss, during the day there did not seem to be a great deal of effort exerted in trying to get people involved (as has been the case in previous hotels I have visited). The evening entertainment was generally very good and varied.
There is an extremely unpleasent oudour which hangs around the pool area during the day and evening eminating from the sewerage system. Whilst it did not detract from my holiday, my in-laws whose room was at the other end of the hotel found it very disconcerting, as they could smell the oudour at all times of the day
All in all whilst I have highlighted problems my family ecountered we still had a relaxing hoilday, but will not be returning next year, mainly due to unsuitability of the hotel for small children.
Parents I spoke whilst at the hotel were very complimentary about the Holiday Kids Club.

If you like quizzes this is the hotel for you. FIVE nights were quiz nights! This is the only all inclusive hotel where there has been repeated evening entertainment. The entertainment team are very dis-organised. They complain that they need more money to perform better. Kids were left out of beach games because they were not big enough on the crazy day. You will get sick of hearing "If you want to be attractive, then you have to be active"! Ask him where he went wrong?
The external entertainment was generally good.
Hotel
The best part of the hotel is the food, especially the fresh pizza's that are made in the restaurant.
The hotel is kept clean.
The water park is a huge bonus for the kids. There is no play area in the hotel for the kids, but there is one five minutes walk along the beach front.
There are a lot of steps, but this is mentioned in the brochure, so if you read the brochure why complain?

The food was repeated every night.
Entertainment wasn’t very good keep repeating the same events and saying you got to be active to be attractive and calling everyone lazy. They was saying they weren’t reps they were entertainment team they had to stick to a budget.
Pool too small for the hotel.
Water park needed updating.
The bar stopped serving drinks after 11pm and we had to pay for them even though it was all inclusive. If you like drinking out of plastic cups this hotel is good for you.
Would not visit again! And won’t recommend it to anybody.

We had a fantastic holiday here the last week of July and first week of August. The hotel is spotless from the reception area right through to the rooms.
The food was excellent couldn't find fault with anything here, plus you get snacks right up to midnight, a first for us where all inclusive is concerned.
Hotel location is superb it's got to be the lovliest place we have ever been to. The beaches are gorgeous and very safe and you have to make the 20 minute walk to see the sunset.
Hotel staff we found to be excellent, maybe because we speak a little spanish, which they always appreciate. They were always helpful and cheery, especially Carmen the waitress in the rest.
The entertainment during the day could do with some improvement, not really a lot for teenagers, although the beach and the waterpark are good alternatives for them. The entertainment at night is ok but we couldn't really complain about it.
Where the smell is concerned you do get a slight whiff of it throughout the day, but it certainly never spoiled our holiday.
I also read that the rooms were quite small but compared to some All Inclusive hotels ours was actually not bad, and your really only in it to shower and sleep, it was also one of the quietest rooms we have been in, we never heard anything.

The staff at the hotel are excellent very friendly and over worked.
The entertainment was awful - the worst hotel entertainment we have had on an all inc holiday.
The pool was too small - no sunbeds - no room to move anyway sunbeds were right up against the pool but there is the beach which was great and also the water park. Remember you have to pay for beds and umbrellas on beach - buy lilo and frisby best buys of holiday.

Arriving at the hotel was a bit of a disappointment, after driving through ibiza town we were hoping for our resort to be a bit more lively.
Our first impressions of the hotel were positive. it seemed clean and quiet, as did the rooms.
The breakfast wasnt up to much, there was a wide range of food, however not very tasty. Lunch and dinner was great, wide varieties and tasty.
The hotel staff were brilliant...very very friendly and gorgeous (Angel and Antonio in particular)and looked after their guests very well. Miss them all. Me and 3 friends are returning next year... Rocking Vincents bar , which by the way is UNREAL! 10/10

We were there for 7 days and had a wonderful holiday. The food was excellent, the beach is lovely and the water park is superb for the children. The pool area is not worth spending your day at as it gets very shaded quickly and isn't big enough for the size of the hotel. This did not bother us as we spent our day on the beach and at the water park.
It has everything you need for a family holiday.
The entertainment is fine for a 7 night stay but would be hard work for 14 nights. Even though the kids love it.
I would recommend this hotel for any family.

| said: We stayed at this hotel on a 'Price breaker' allocated on arrival type holiday.....we were not disappointed. The hotel is set in a lovely area. OK so if you want to walk along miles of beach, then this is not the resort for you, although I usually like doing this and loved every minute of the holiday.
We went for just 1 week and in my view this was just right, I left wanting to stay longer but I might have been bored staying any longer. This holiday is family based but if you are into relaxing holidays, sitting by the gorgeous Caribbean style sea that you can walk out 50 metres into and enjoying the views, this could be for you.
The hotel is nice, rooms are nothing special, but that is not a negative thing, you get everything you need - safe, satellite TV etc. Rooms are cleaned daily and there is loads of choice at the restaurant.
Kids are well entertained by some fantastic staff and there is the choice of pool, beach or water park all right at the hotel. Evening entertainment is the usual stuff - singers, hypnotist, bingo etc but all done well.
All in all a nice place to spend your hard earned cash going to.
p.s. reviews mentioning the sewage smell are right but it is infrequent, the area is very clean and it does not detract from your enjoyment.

On first arriving we thought nice clean hotel and lovely reception staff, we then went to our room which was right next door to the bar downstairs and although it was a little small it was okay.
The place was lovely and clean everywhere. When we went for breakfast we were impressed with the restaurant and the food was good and loads of it.
The hotel is in a lovely small bay but, for us there was not enough to do, it was okay if you had kid`s with you as there was loads laid on for them.
The entertainment was naff to say the least. We had no sleep all week with the noise as some parents allowed the kids to run the corridors all night and by day there was so many kids it was sheer chaos.
When we leaving there were other couples saying exactly the same as us and some had paid a lot more than us for the week.
If you want peace and quiet and a nice relaxing holiday then aviod the el greco at all cost.

| said: Firstly, the food was excellent, admittedly a little repetetive at the end of our 2 weeks stay, but great nonetheless, what surprised me was walking into breakfest for the first time and seeing bottles of champagne on ice!
Lovely with some orange in! The choice of drinks was not bad, but another choice of beer and proper fruit juices would have been nice!
The sewage smell which we had been concerned about was not that noticeable when it did appear, which was about once a day for a couple of minutes!
The view from the hotel was brilliant, there were some lovely photo opportunities to be had! There was not a huge number of sunbeds round the pool, but there were quite a few more on the seperate sun terrece and also the waterpark. The kids loved the waterpark, 6 slides just being enough to keep them happy! They also loved the fact that they could have as many lollies icecreams and drinks as they wanted!
The room was a little small, but not that bad, after all we were hardly in there. Another thing i wasnt expecting was the hotel had an onsite gift shop and launderette, brilliant idea I thought.
The entertainment, well what can i say? The 3 staff michael, jenny and leona were really freindly, and kept everyone busy, the daytime entertainment was a little bit for everyone, the night time, the hours mini disco for the kids was ok, and the evening was really varied, kids loved Miss carla the drag act, the "robbie williams" act was fantastic, as was the hypnotist. One singer, Jim Rhodes definately got better and better, when he got down the applause was deafening!
A couple of tips now, invest in a frisbee to carry your drinks, easier than juggling the plastic cups (which are only used outside anyway) and another, definately take some bread and paddle out into the sea, the fish really do eat out of your hands! (Just beware of the jellyfish)
All in all, The El Greco is a brilliant hotel, we will definately return.

The hotel is located so that you walk straight onto the beach from the hotel grounds - about a 30 second walk from the building. The staff couldn't do enough to help and were friendly and attentive.
I've never been very impressed with holiday entertainment and this time was no different - kids enjoyed it though. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to any family.

| said: I thought the El Greco was fine for our 10 day holiday although rather busy as it was school holidays so what can you expect? Loads of kids, entertainment was a bit poor and we actually went out quite a few nights just to get away but during the day it was great.
Sunbed saga was a nightmare - we ended up going on the beach everyday and paid for our sunbeds to avoid the queue at 7.30 am every morning. The reason is there is only about 20 sunbeds that get the sun all day so people put there towels on them early when they realise this after the first day of sunbathing.
It was really noisy round the pool. The waterpark at this hotel is a real bonus. The kids played in there and were quite happy for a few hours and you can still get drinks and ice creams inside and get sunbeds.
The beach is great but a bit rocky when you first go in. Didn't see any jellyfish but heard about 1 during our stay. There is a sewage smell in the sunbed area near the outside bar and when it gets hot it does pong.
All in all the facilities around the pool ie toilets etc were all kept very clean even though the hotel was very busy with it being school holidays. Food very good - we have stayed in a lot of all inclusives and this has got to be one of the best - you even get hygiene wipes before you go into the restaurant to wipes your hands on (some people did ignore this as if it wasn't for them!!!).
The reps were very good and on site every day we were there. I would go here again but only for a week I don't think I could stand the entertainment for longer! Also, beware it is a very noisy hotel. Even though we have 2 small children we did not let them run about corridoors at night, shout, bang doors and misbehave waking other guests up like some of the other parents seem to do.

After three days a plane home would have been great. There was plenty of food choice but we were not impressed with the late night snacks niether was my 15months old son.
With 3 teenagers on holiday with us the entertainment was of no interest to them and they was not catered for.we spent most off our evenings at either Vincents bar or Delboys which was across the beach.
Although the staff were very pleasant, polite and helpful, and Debbie the Thomsons rep was always good fun. The pool was always very crowded an sunbeds were rare unless you stayed up alnight so you could get a towel on one,and the horrendous smell of sewage mixed with plenty of sun was quite stomach churning.
The steps was dangerous and a real pain having to carry a pushchair up an down.
It was like being in prison. We will never visit El Greco again and certainly would not recommend it to anyone. Then to return home with a violent stomach bug just added insult to injury.

| said: The hotel with its huge seven floors was quite overwhelming but the welcome we received at the reception was fantastic.
Our room was an ideal size for both us and I'm sure it was the closest to the bar (excellent!) however; it did mean that when the dodgy entertainment started it was quite noisy.
The selection of drinks and food was absolutely spot on but it would have been great to have pint glasses instead of the plastic cups for the beers! This didn't matter too much though as you could ask for as many as you liked! Excellent!
The choice of food in the restaurant was also superb - the hotel catered for everyone’s tastes. Ranging from your continental or full English for breakfast, pizza, pasta, seafood and hot dishes for lunch to Chinese, steak and kidney pie, paella, vegetables for tea plus not forgetting the snacks (mmmmm cheese and onion butties after a few late night drinks!)
Our room was cleaned everyday which was a bonus and all the staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome. Free air conditioning was available but unfortunately so was the irregular smell of sewerage from our balcony! (The reps informed us that this was a problem that they were trying to deal with the local authority) Safety deposit boxes also featured in the room at a small charge - well worth it.
The entertainment was poor but after you've sampled some of the locally produced alcoholic beverages you could make your own!
The hotel pool was absolutely freezing but when it was quiet around the pool area it provided a good setting to chill for an hour or so. The hotel waterpark (3 slides and sunbathing area) was great for the hotel guests, especially because you could get your beers, drinks and free ice creams without going back to the hotel bar(and top up your tan!)
Overall, we thought the El Greco hotel was excellent value for money - a real bargain for the week! I would recommend the hotel to friends and family but we would not return.
We would definitely visit Ibiza again but go to a new area. (We don't like going to the same place twice - that's all!!)

I went with my family which is very big 9 altogether so meals times were hetic but the kids loved it plenty of choice.
Having a younger brother with walking difficulties made it hard for us with all the steps. I remember being at the airport saying to my Dad that we had forgotton his pram. Once we got there we were glad we had left the pram. The steps can be pretty dangerous at times especially when wet.
The beach was fantastic it was like a little private beach the sea was warm but take something to lie on as you do get charged to rent out beds and stuff like that.
The staff at El Greco was really pleasant always smiling the kids loved them and the kids clubs are great as well you can just leave the kids there for a few hours then the grownups can go to the local bars vincents bar is great.
The entertainment could of been better not much for teenagers but little kids loved it disco every night.

| said: Just Got back from the Hotel El Greco a week ago the weather was fantastic.
We arrived to the hotel earlier hours of Saturday morning got the key to our room to find a very small room. The balcony was facing a massive white brick wall and two air conditioning units facing onto the balcony so it was extremely hot when the units were in use, hence we didn't sit on the balcony. We also had noise coming from the building in front of us where they carried out all the laundry services, so not a brilliant start! But we decided that we were only there for a week and wouldn't be in the room all that much so we didn't complain.
The food was o.k. there was a wide variety of things to eat from meats to Chinese and salads, but because it was buffet style it was not very hot, other than that the food was good. Drinks were great, but the only problem was they were served in half pint plastic cups which my boyfriend wasn't too happy about, he likes his pints! You also had to pay for your drinks after 11.00pm which when you go all inclusive you expect it to be free as you have already paid for them.
The Beach was lovely we never stayed around the pool at the hotel as it was always crowded but I prefer the beach anyway and it was just a few steps away which was very handy.
The entertainment wasn't up to much, but it was brilliant for the kids. The reps Corrina and Lenka did a brill job with all the kids and toddlers, but nothing much going on for adults.
We booked this holiday as a price breaker and allocation on arrival, all in all it was a very clean hotel, maid service everyday and handy for the lovely beach.
This hotel is brilliant for families with lots of kids, but not for couples!
I would visit again, but only when I’ve got a couple of kids myself.

The hotel pool was very disappointing and the smell of sewage became very overpowering at times. Spent all of my time on the beach renting a sunbed for 4 Euros a day which was more peaceful.
The hotel staff were very friendly and the entertainment staff were very very poor, only enjoyed 2 of the acts which were Vinyl & Rick G.
The rooms were very small and quite cramped especially for a family of 4.
This hotel is not for the elderly as you need to climb a lot of steps to reach the beach or the local shopping area.
The food was of a good standard overall and the selection on offer was extremely good.
The air conditioning in the rooms was pretty noisy.
I personally would not take my family to this hotel again and would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends.

The steps aren't too bad and although there are many, you cope, and when you get on the beach there is decking which you can walk on until you get to the front, so not too sandy shoes, although there is sand between the decking and bottom of stairs, which they should really put decking all the way to there. the first bit of the water park slope can be dangerous, and is hard to get up especially if you have sandals on, however if you go round some trees there is another way to get up that involves stairs. The bar in the water park is very useful, and means you don't have to leave the water park all the time to get drinks. the slides are all good, its not the biggest water park in the world, but its such a rarity that a hotel owns one that its quite good for what you'd expect.
The food in the hotel was absolutely excellent, as they did a chinese buffet every other night that was delicious, and even on a monday they had a rhost. Free drinks are always useful, as it can get quite thirsty in the heat, although the drinks are served in half pint glasses, which meant people bought frisbies and were ordering 10 drinks at a time, using the frisbies as trays. The beach is quite nice, although one day the sea was really rough, and a horrible pool was made near the front of the beach, which had lots of cigarette butts in, and a few pieces of litter. Although the next morning while eating breakfast in the restaurant that looks over the beach and sea, i could see the cleaners coming out with there bins to clean up the mess. The beach did have flags on it, which are useless if you don't understand them, and as the reps didn't tell us about these that was not good, as being so close to a beach and with lots of children around, its not good.
Some of the entertainment was good, like ricky g, and vinyl seemed quite funny and good, but otherwise there were only really 2 entertainers. 1 of which looked after the children very well while doing the mini disco, which was a great thing for kids. and the turbo quiz was usually quite interesting. The maids seemed to clean the room everyday, which was excellent, as i have never seen this in a hotel before. Overall the experience was very good and we probably will be returning next year.

The location right on the beach witha free waterpark was a winner with the kids. When we visited the hotel had obviously had had trouble appointing entertainment staff and one poor guy was all on his own. Some of the proffesional acts that visited were quite good especially Robbie Williams.

I was quite pleased overall. There are a couple of points I would like to make.firstly the pool is to small for the size of the hotel and can get very busy after 8am. secondly there's an awful lot of steps to get to the beach.Other than that have a great time..Steve

| said: A very enjoyable [allocation on arrival] holiday, made especially so by the high standards of the El Greco. All rooms were air-conditioned, which was free. Rooms cleaned daily and fresh bed-linen and towels were provided. Cleanliness and quality of the restaurant excellent; diners were asked to use disposable hygenic 'wipes' before entering the dining room, which was carefully supervised by the managers. Chef's regularly appeared to check food was in tip-top order. Wide selection of buffet-style food with different 'specials' each evening including Chinese. Every taste was catered for including childrens menus and there was even an ice-cream machine. Tables cleared effeciently and effectively by the very friendly staff. Water Park fantastic, especially with teenagers; 6 rides, 3 of which for the older kids and adults.
The water park was only available to guests of the El Greco and served free ices, soft drinks and beers from 11 -6. Some of the paved areas became very slippy with no warning signs. Entertainment was a little repetitive for the kids; same songs every night, adult entertainment a little better.

| said: I love the Hotel El Greco - This was our third time at the hotel, we love it so much we keep coming back for more!!! Our family loves Ibiza - it's nothing like alot of people expect. In the north the island is a peaceful oasis, with no major noise after about midnight.
The hotel is extremly clean - the staff work very hard, which is evident. The barstaff are friendly, and one even lokks a bit like Peter Andre. Im so sad this year, as my parents are going back with my little brother, who goes free as he is under 16. Unfortunately as Ive just passed that age and I have a job I cannot go.
The Hotel is great! Me and a few friends are planning to go after our first year of college next year. I only have a few critisisms to make.
The pool is too small for the resort and sometimes there is a faint sewage smell around that area. Also at luch time people do tend to sit in the restaurant with wet bottoms after swimming - this is a pain.
However this is a wonderful resort and hotel. It must be as we keep going back. We've been to other hotels, but they just don't compare.

| said: This hotel is one of the worste I have ever stayed in its not all bad there where some good points.
The hotel is still in the eighty's the rooms are very very small and the air conditioning system is in the dark ages I though I was in a sauna. Dont take a great deal of clothes with you there is nowhere to put them and heaven help you if your a family with children all in the same room.
The staff where really friendly and the cleaning staff worked really hard but they where always useing the lifts by the way there is only two and if you like slow no very slow lifts they will be just right for you.
The food was so so plenty of choice if you like typical english food burgers sausages and roast dish of the day, not very hot food but hay ho.
The pool area is so small its impossible to get a sunbed unless your up befor 5am, we went to the beach most days which was really nice and peacefull.
If you like children you will love this place its full of them and hundreds of them everywhere all screaming there heads off.
Dont even think about this place if you have trouble with steps theres steps everywhere not the place if you have any kind of dissability or a pushchair or two.
Overall I guess this is a family resort very quiet nothing to do in the evenings but stay in the hotel there was some trouble during our holiday with the usual single groups of lads making a nuisence of themselves we where told the police come around to the hotel on a regular basis.
The down side is at 2300 the bar closes to all inclusive guests then you have to pay for drinks the whole hotel locks up at midnight and even the lights go out on you balcony.
My overall opin ion was a bit like hi de hi with to may drunks.

Having 2 young children, as long as you enjoy carrying a buggy all over the place due to the steps then this Hotel is for you.
The childrens club and staff were great, but the remainder of the entertainment was none existent for young children. Also the water park that is part of the all inclusive deal was very run down.
This is the first holiday that I have wanted to go home from after 3 days.

| said: We stayed at the El Greco in May 2005 for 2 weeks much needed break on an all inclusive basis.
The food and the cleanliness was second to none, all the staff including our reps were very helpful and always someone on hand.
The entertainment was catered for children mostly which we fully understood when we booked. We enjoyed the hypnotist and the guy who was the ex Tina turner member playing the saxophone, keyboard and guitar, he made us chuckle. Row, Matthew, Lou and James the children’s reps were excellent and Robert thought row was ace.
The down sides are that we didn’t get much sleep at night as adults as well as children were running up and down the corridors and making loads of noise, sometimes waking Robert. The beds I found were a little uncomfortable, rooms aren’t that big but bearable.
By the time we left the hotel was certainly much busier so we believed we picked the right weeks, we said that we certainly wouldn’t go back there in high peak season but would in low season.
Also the best part of the holiday was the water park, couldn’t get Aaron off the slides, think he was reliving his youth.

I did not have any noise it was one of the most quietest hotels i had ever been to the staff were great, ok the entertainment not excellent but never the less they did there best and a few good nights were had.
The food was great as well a mixture of taste for everyone and it was spotless, andi dare to say I didnt really smell anything either, but it was a few years ago.

| said: We had a great time at the El Greco we have been there for 4 years in a row. The hotel was very clean the staff where very friendly and remembered us each time we went. The hotel is excellent with kids the kids club was excellent and we could sit and relax knowing that our children were safe well looked after and enjoying themselves. The entertainment was good plenty to keep kids and adults entertained. We would recommend this hotel to anyone with a family looking for a relaxing holiday with a beach and waterpark on your doorstep. The only complaints we do have is that the swimming pool was always cold and small for the amount of guests that were there especially when there were many large inflatables in there it didnt leave much room and there are a number of steps coming up from the beach which became dangerous when wet. A thoroughly good holiday for families.

| said: This was the first time my children had been abroad and so we were looking for the perfect hotel and area, and I can honestly say that we found it in abundance.
The hotel itself is fabulous, clean, well maintained and right next to the beach and waterpark. Who could ask for more.
My kids enjoyed meal times immensely especially the pizza section where they could go and choose their own topping.
As a family we do not have any bad comments to make about this hotel or the area around it, up a small hill there are a few shop and cafes where you can get your tobacco/cigarettes all very cheap. There is also a doctors on the hotel grounds just in case.
There is a market that comes into the hotel grounds once a week which is quite fun but not a lot of choice. The men selling jewelery are a bit like Del Boy!!
We will be returning again to this hotel without a doubt.
Fantastic holiday.

| said: The buffets and food really were the highlight, although did get a bit 'samey' by the end of the holiday - but I loved the fact that I always knew there was plenty for the children to choose from. Staff in hotel and bar were very friendly. Cuddy, the hotel entertainer, although mostly very funny, revelled in embarrassing guests around the pool. He could be heard all around the resort at night - he was so loud! Very busy in height of season and the pool area was very crowded. Pool was so cold (even though the sun never stopped shining in August) I never got in with the children, and they only paddled. Hotel right on the beach which was fantastic - and right next to a small, but great fun, water park.
