| said: arrved at club viva late afternoon and our first impression was " very nice from the outside" but once inside the reception area we was met with a semi hostile/cant be bothered attitude.once we got to our room we found there was only air conditoning in one bedroom (which we was charged £42.00 for the two weeks we were staying).after the first night the four of us had to sleep for the rest of the holiday all sqashed in the one air conditoned room!the hotel reception area was not air conditioned so after a beautiful hot day in mamaris once back in the hotel there was just no relief, no place to escape from the heat.the cleaniness of the hotel was not bad though we was constantly asking for toilet rolls.most of the staff were ignorant and cold especilly the manager.my daughter who is 15 complained to me that her bottom had been slapped by a certain waiter(all the waiters were incouraged to flirt crudly with the guests)and when i complained to the manager i was met with an arrogant attitude, and once he had finnished looking my daughter up and down, more or less insinuated that she was lying!i asked him to confront the waiter,he then dissapeared for 3/4 mins and on his return told me the waiter had just finnished his shift so would sort it out the next day!!really convenient as we were to leave the next day! i would never ever stay at at this hotel even for free. most people staying there had a gripe with the hotel/staff.three muslim ladies who was staying there was made to feel totally disrespeted and disgusted with the flirtatous/crude behavour of the staff (which was happening right in front of their faces) complained to the manager who told them to move hotels if they didnt like it..by ths time the hotel was on par with fawlty towers minus the humour! it really was the hotel from hell and would not recommend this hell-hole to any one!!!!!!!!!!!

| said: We booked as a late deal from the teletext and was told that we would be in a 4* hotel, well think again because I have stayed in better 2 stars!
We arrived at the airport and had to wait for about 2 hours for a minibus to take us to the hotel as we were on the Manchester flight and they waited for the other flights to land for other people to come on who was getting dropped off all around the island, so not a very good start. Once we arrived at the hotel we was showed to our room it was that small you couldn't swing a cat in it! they was no storage space and we had to live out of our suitcases for a week.
The shower door was hanging off so you had to be very careful whilst you was in there, let alone that when you was having a shower you turned on the water for about 3 minutes then you had to turn it off for about another ten as it kept on flooding!
We didn't get a decent night's sleep as we was over looking the mosque and they was shouting over the speakers at very early hours in the morning. then around six you was awaken by the chickens in the garden out the back. We was told it was 100m metres from the beach when it took us about 30 mins to walk to it.
The food was the same all the time (Chicken and chips). We had to keep eating out all the time as we were starving and got sick of all the same food.
The beer that we was entitled to was foul it was their own brand but they had our brand's but they was a very big charge for this.
The hotel and our room was always clean and the maids and waiters were all very friendly.
I can surely say though that this will be our first and last trip to Turkey this has put us off for life.

| said: If you really, really like chicken then this is the hotel for you! I don't think the chef could cook anything else but then again the only animals we seen on our holiday were chickens!
The dolmus service was brilliant. The number 2 stopped outside and you could go anywhere for 1lire.
The waiters were really helpful and went out of their way to make our holiday enjoyable. Two of the girls on our holiday had birthdays. They brought cakes out for them and made a fuss.
We were a bit nervous about going to the markets etc because we had heard that you get hasled and so one of our waiters came with us on his break and we had no problems.
When we first got to the hotel we did'nt all have rooms which, at first, were annoyed at, but three of us ended up in what we called "the dungeon". It was in the basement of the hotel. The view was of beer crates and peoples feet walking past but we just kept the curtains closed.
It turned out to be the biggest room in the hotel! The hotel paid for all of us to have a Turkish bath which was great.
The entertainment wasnt up to much but we all made our own with the help of the waiters.
We would all go back to the Club Viva and stay in "the dungeon".

| said: Hotel generally clean, food not too bad, although the chef must have a million and one ways to cook chicken.
The group of people who stayed at the hotel made the two weeks a good time. The watered down lager was a problem, but after much kajoling with the bar staff you could insist on the the non cordial version.
Bar closing at 11.00pm was a problem. Fly's as described in other reports were not necessarily a problem, but its a hot country and they go with the territory. Yes the hotel need to take a serius look at uncovered food.
Dolmus service was cheap and handy for trips to Marmaris. Vision rep never made herself known although she was spotted several times at the hotel. Transfers to and from the hotel were good and on time.
Rooms were clean, with regular towel and bedding changes. Air conditioning good and needed on hot sticky nights.
To sum up we enjoyed our two weeks, the all inclusive works well especially with limited alcholic, soft drinks, teas and coffees, which if added to your bar bill would far outway the additional costs.

| said: Our family stayed at Club Viva Hotel from 1st to 15th August on an All Inclusive basis with Regal Holidays. Our room was spacious and clean and the air conditioning which was free was a godsend.
The food was ok, but there was limited choice and chicken was served in some form everday with melon for dessert.
Drinks included in the All inclusive option were - Pero Beer, Vodka, Gin, Raki and Red/white wine and all soft drinks. Soft drinks during the day were also a godsend as it is so hot, we must have saved a fortune!!
The waiters are absolutely brilliant especially Aydin and Ozgar who treated my little girl like a princess - on her birthday they presented her with a beautiful cake and two gifts and they expected nothing in return.
I would recommend staying at the Club Viva Hotel on a Self catering basis only.
The pool is a good size and there are plenty of lilo's and inflatables for use free of charge.
There is also a childrens play area and table tennis table.
I would like to say I would return to Club Viva again, but unfortunately we found the Turkish people - shop/restaurant owners too irritating with their constant mithering wherever you go.
We have come home with very happy memories and feeling a little sad at saying goodbye to our newfound turkish friends Aydin and Ozgar.

| said: When we arrived at the hotel a porter took our bags up to our room without expecting a tip (although we gave him one). The rooms are a decent size and have air-conditioning which is an absolute must as it gets very warm. Although there is not much storage space you can quite easily manage to live out of a suitcase for a couple of weeks.
The location is perfect. It is nice and quiet and relaxed. There are a few shops and plenty of restaurants. A 10min dolumus (bus) ride away is the harbour and centre area which has lots of shops (at the bazaar) and restaurants.
The hotel staff are absoulutly brilliant. They are very nice, happy and friendly!! They will come and sit with you and have a chat about your life and are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the Turkish people. When they ask how you are they genuinely want to know you are ok. My family was very easily accepted into the "Club Viva family". We will never forget the waiters especially Omar who was a little angel!!
There was entertainment every night although it tended to be repeated (i coulde almost tell you the breakdancers routine off by heart). In general it was very good. A great way to learn about some of the Turkish culture. The barbeque evenings which were on once a week were a great laugh and the food was delicious (i can still taste the kebabs). Every night the waiters do some traditional Turkish dancing which is great although a bit of a shock the first time you see it. They come around and ask you to join them which my family did. We ended up dancing with them every night which was great fun!! Zikki (one of the waiters) did a dance every night (not sure if he is still there as he was thinking about leaving) which he wore a wig for. My dad told him he looked like Tina Turner. Much to our surprise and hilarity he then named his act this and even put it onto the entertainment board.
When it was time to leave we got a huge send off from the waiters complete with kisses and hand shakes. Club Viva was definitely the best hotel i have every stayed in. I will definitely be returning!!!

The bar staff were ignorant, the food was the same every day,the dining area was not kept clean, the bar staff didn't have a clue how to serve a drink, when I tried to explain I didn't want my gin drowning in tonic or not to put ice in brandy I was ignored.
Had to ask for towels & toilet rolls, its set back from the beach, entertainment wasn't too bad, which was a blessing as it was to hot to walk to the beach front everynight.

| said: When we arrived the location was bad it was in the middle of nowhere.
We were shown to our room and you couldnt swing a cat in it. The shower was hanging off the wall. The shower door was broken there was hair in the bed the towels were filthy so was the pillowcases. The fridge door was hanging off there was no mini bar that was extra.
The food looked disgusting and there was nothing saying what it was. There were flies all over it and the staff are very igonarant they just ignore you. I went to the bar and there were 6 staff on then. They just walked away it took me 20 mins to get 2 beers. I couldnt have the one we wanted because I had to pay extra.
The music they played was offensive if you have kids. It was that bad my husband and I arrived at 730pm and on the Monday night I called my rep about 5 mins after arriving to get me moved which she did the next day, to a far better hotel which was clean and stood up to its 3 star standard. For the Club Viva I would say its a zero star hotel which is filthy and ok if you are on a budget, but to work hard all year and to land at a hovel off a hotel it certainly spoils your holiday. So my advice is to not go there, stay away.
The cleanliness of the hotel put me off it. Its not what it looks like in pictures and there is a mosque right outside.

| said: We arrived back from Turkey a week ago and we had a great time. One of the main reasons for this was the fact that the hotel (the staff, in particular) was fantastic. The staff went out of their way to make us and the rest of the guests feel welcome and almost part of the 'Club Viva Family'. In fact we went away with a number of extra family members, email addresses and phone numbers.
OK so the entertainment was not great...in fact sometimes there was none, but the hotel staff are truly enough entertainment. They really are quite mad...but in a good way! I have never stayed at a hotel quite like Club Viva before, the staff do not just say hello and take your drinks order. They sit down with you and have conversations with you, they ask you about your life, your family, everything, and they are genuinely interested and care about what you are telling them.
We were self catering so I can't say much about the food but from what other guests told us the food is very nice and no one had any upset stomachs or any other complaints.
The hotel has a number of shops and restaurants near it and it does not take long at all to walk into the centre of Marmaris. But even if you don't fancy walking it's extremely quick and easy catching a dolmus (a bus) from right outside the hotel. Yes, there is a mosque next to the hotel but to be perfectly honest I only heard the call to prayer a few times for the whole two weeks that we stayed there and it didn't bother me in the slightest.
We loved Turkey and Club Viva so much that we are going back a week on Monday!

| said: After reading the horror review by Maria here and at holidays-exposed we were prepared for the worse, however overall it wasn't that bad, it wasn't great neither. It was just fair/poor.
All self-catering guests are on the top floor, there is a lift and a set of stairs so access is no problem. The rooms are relatively small, with a seperate room containing the beds. The air conditioning unit (£20 per week, payable upon arrival - quite reasonably priced) is located in the bedroom, and hence the rest of the unit is intolerably warm, apart from sleeping we couldnt spend any time in the apartment (not that we wanted to). The air conditioning unit works by slotting your key attachment into the wall so you cant leave it on whilst out, unless you manage to detach it from the keyring ;), it also switches off completely whenever the power is reset (happen several times) so you can find yourself baking in the middle of the night depsite setting the air-conditioning when going to bed.
The mosque was directly opposite our room, the speaker pointed directly at us, it woke us up most days however you learn to live with it.
The maids were very tight with towels and toilet roll, had to go to reception many times, and quite often had to chase the maid for towel, she then had to check the apartment to make sure we weren't stealing any of their crappy towels.
The toilet stopped working many times, no water to flush, so in the first week we had a very stinky unit on several occasions. Eventually I figured out that the tap water was on a different supply, so if you fill one of the large pans up with water, hold down the flush, and poor the water from a height you archieved the same effect (problem solved, although should never have came to that - hate to imagine what those that weren't so [modest] ..[/modest] did).
The bar, because most of the hotel is full board, was rather poor for self-catering, they serve beer in half-pint glasses and it was only Tuborg, all other bars in the area would sell you a large bottle of Efes or pint of Efes or Tuborg. Even the half-pint glasses which we were paying for they insisted on 1/3 head, it took a few "we english, fill beer" to actually get them to fill the measly sized glasses to the top or within 1/10 of the top.
The staff were pushy about their BBQ nights, but I guess that's expected, we ate elsewhere everynight, mainly on the harbour or at one or two the resturants nearby.
On the last day whilst waiting for pickup, we were sat in the lobby on the chairs next to a mother and granmother complaining to a turkish rep. They had been placed in a make shift room on the -1 floor, what used to be the first aid room (signs indicated this too), was turned into a unit with two hard beds, a small window that open up onto the pavement above and nothing else. At this point I lost my respect for the hotel. The rep was an arrogant [forget name], I can't recall the name it was something like inshore/insight/?? holidays.

| said: The room was big and clean and the air conditioning a god send! I'm a fussy eater so didn't like the food much but what I did eat there was nicely cooked and no 'funny' tummies in our family.
The staff were all excellent and always asking if everything was ok. The beautiful mosque next door was a bit noisy at times but when in Rome... The pool and surround was clean and there were lots of floats etc for everyone to use which I thought was a really nice touch.
Our only complaint was the behaviour of some Brits from Liverpool.(Other brits from Essex and Scotland all well behaved). We only stayed a week and were woken about 3am on 4 seperate occassions by the family arguing, fighting and smashing glasses etc. Makes you ashamed to say you're British sometimes.
Worth the money we paid for the holiday and would recommend this hotel.

| said: Arrived in hotel and first impressions was that it was quite a small hotel to offer all inclusive. Our room was spacious although not much wardrobe or storage space for 4 people and all there belongings for 2 weeks. The room was spotlessly clean.
The food in hotel was very poor to start with only a small choice of meals usually salad, chips, soup, rice or pasta and one meat dish, with only fruit for dessert. At the time of our stay a lot or guests complained about the food quality for a 4 star hotel and a meeting was arranged between the manager, guests and reps, the manager agreed to improve this and some guests, ourselves included were offered the change of hotel at a cost(£75 per person), we decided to stay on the promise of improvement by the manager. The following day the food improved a lot as promised by the manager, also childrens play equipment was provided(swings, slide, etc and playstation2), although a small fee was requested for the PS2, which improved the hotel a lot.
Entertainment was only a couple of nights a week but just a few hundred yards away you can find bars and entertainment. The hotel also drove us wherever we wanted to go in the hotel car(rather than let us order taxis) for no charge. The hotel manager also checked with us everday to see if we had any problems and if we did'nt like the food on offer we were told to order for free off the hotel menu anything we wanted.
The staff were superb and couldn't do enough for us ,they were very friendly and we even got invited to one of there birthday parties!!We would use this hotel again, it's only a small hotel but staff were superb with us and the children,we paid less than £250 each for 2 weeks all inclusive and definately had our monies worth!!! As for the x rated kiddi disco, the lyrics were in english and the turkish staff didn't even know they were rude they were provided by english guests at the hotel!(we took a copy home)if people had been offended no one complained while we were there.
There is a beautiful mosque situated at the rear of the hotel and as we were guests in a muslim country it is part of turkish culture to call the people to prayer several times a day starting at sunrise ,you don't notice it after a few days and we found it quite quaint(the yodely man as the kids called him)

| said: We arrived at the Club Hotel Viva,2 adults and 2 children, and given at family room over looking the pool, and unfortunately the local mosque (which announced its prayer times 5 times a day via 8 loud speakers, just what we needed at dawn!). On arrival at this Hotel Club Viva all looked OK, at first glance. But just how sorry we are for entering this hotel.
they advertised a childrens club and there was no Children’s club, unless you want to count the play station 2, which was charged by the 15mins(£2.50), and the pool table again charged for(£5.00), the children’s paddling pool had a safety barrier which constantly fell down into the adjoining deep swimming pool. Broken glass around the pool area and grass, a child badly cut his foot. Chickens were running loose amongst the hotel sun beds, fouling the grass. And not forgetting the very loud music played through full base speakers, so loud it made the hotel room vibrate 3 floors up, from 8.00am until midnight, with a choice of house/club music on full base only to suit the bar-men, other hotel guests repeatedly asked for the music to be turned down, changed. Such songs as the “adult XXX version of Yogi bear, and adult XXX version of horse racing sponsored by Durex condoms, where the horses had names like vagina, arse-hole”ect. Both of these were full of foul language and of a very high sexual nature. And were repeatedly played in the presence of young children.
The only other entertainment in the Club Hotel Viva, was the weekly Turkish night, were the entertainers themselves came around the hotel guests with a hat for collecting payment, and a local jewelry company selling raffle tickets for prizes which did not materialize. The gym turned out to be one old exersize bike, the games room an empty room. The first aid room again empty room, there was not even a plaster to be had!
But our main complaint at the stay at this Hotel Club Viva, was the terrible food, absolutely un-edible, and the unacceptable standard of Hygiene and food health and safety and selection of food in this all inclusive Hotel was the worst my family and I have ever experienced.
The breakfast consisted of 6-8 trays of olives, 2 types of local cheese, 2 types of local luncheon meat( curling up at the corners with a strange brown/greenish tint), both un covered and un-refrigerated, with flies crawling on them. Lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber – again uncovered with flies. Swimming in grease fried eggs, gone cold and hard, complete with flies. Hard boiled eggs (cold). Bread and butter. Tea bags, a kettle- never any water in it!, a milk jug again un covered or refrigerated and yet again with flies. And some strange looking cornflake type cereal again un-covered, but in these there were only dead flies amongst the cereal! A juicer machine was present, but once you used it, the cost would be added onto your bill without warning along with tea or coffee at anytime other than breakfast or cookie time ( we ourselves received a bill of 70,250,000 TL for un-itemized drinks) one family was knocked a wake by the security guard at 03.45am to sign for 2 cups of tea!. Same every day. . . .
Lunch and evening meal, was no better; Mainly we had a choice of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrot peelings and as above and complete with flies, uncovered and un-refrigerated. A pot of very weak and taste less soup, with bread and no butter. 4 stainless-steel cabinets which looked suspiciously like bread bins, which should have been hot, but a lighted flame, electricity or even hot water was never placed anywhere near them, so the contents were always cold, which doesn’t take a lot of common food health and safety to work out the out come when such foods as cooked chicken, rice are stored in them. They always contained the variety of cold hard French fries, plain pasta, rice, greasy chicken or greasy weak stew, all cold left for the duration of the meal time with out being changed/refreshed/topped up, temperature controlled or checked.
Needless to say the outcome was an outbreak of upset stomachs, diarrhea, vomiting and food poisoning amongst the guests at the hotel. And the way the Hotel dealt with this, way to then charge the guest for using too much toilet roll, and started to sell rolls at reception. And then the water system went wrong, brown foul smelling, and almost like sewage started to appear in the bathrooms, showers.
A meeting was called amongst the sickened holiday makers from various holiday companies, In-shore travel, first choice, Regal holidays ect. And the various reps from the holiday companies invited to the meeting, all the other holiday companies reps attended the meeting, our holiday company did not turn up at the meeting, despite the fact that I called there local office in Marmaris twice, and was assured a rep was on there way to us. My partner even called there office here in the UK for assistance, and was informed that they would be straight onto the problem and phone us back within 15mins. they failed to phone us or attend the meeting in the hotel. Other guests from other companies were moved into another Hotel.
But despite this, we were left in the appalling and terrible un-healthy conditions of the Club Hotel Viva, suffering and extremely un-happy, worried for our health. We could no longer tolerate or risk the effects of eating in the hotel, and were left with no other alternative, than to eat out in bars and restaurants, where we did find an acceptable and good quality of food and drinks, in not just one but all of the local bars we had to eat in, at a cost of £700 during our two week stay at the all inclusive Club Viva Hotel, as even the Club Viva’s drinks were served un-chilled and flat soft drinks, or completely “watered down” alcoholic drinks! Im no drunken, be like most adults i dont need to be insulted if i do fancy the odd glass of wine or beer or even a mixer whilst on holiday with my family.
But on top of this the final straw, was not the ill-health of my family from the food, not the loud BOOM BOOM of the club XXX adult music, but the fact that the hotel maid decided to leave a “drinking water bottle” labeled spring water, in our hotel room next to the bathroom sink, containing Not water, but BLEACH. We have a 7 year old daughter, she doesn’t expect BLEACH to be in a drinking water bottle, in reach for her to drink…………….
We calmly talked to the Hotel manager, pointing out our complaints and concerns of just how terrible everything was. He simply did not care. He told us face to face, he did not care. In fact he said his budget was too tight to provide healthy or quality of food, or choice of food. He did not care about the sickness, the doctor being called to guests ill or the amount of complaints he was constantly receiving. He also did not care about the maid’s error; he was very un-helpful to the point of being rude.
His way of dealing with customers who complained, was to ask them to leave the hotel, we were not the first to be told to leave, and yes, we had to pack our bags and not only leave the Hotel, but the managers way of doing this was to invite a police officer along, who did not speak English, my partner and I, and the children were so upset, so terrified. But thankfully we did manage to get hold of our rep , who doesn’t speak much Turkish, but was accompanied with her Turkish speaking partner. Who then kindly explained to us that the manager wanted us to sign a statement written by himself, wording that we could only stay in the hotel if we agreed not to complain to Regal Holidays on return to the UK, about the terrible conditions at his Hotel Club Viva. Or we had to find our own accommodation and transport to another hotel. our rep contacted REgal Holidays local Marmaris office, who said they were not prepared to do anything for us. We refused to sign such a statement; the complaints were far too serious.
We then had to pack our bags, find and search and walk to another hotel, Which thankfully was not a Regal holiday hotel, and took a serious view of health and safety amongst its guests and staff, was clean and the food and drink, entertainment, sun bed’s and pool- area all fantastic.
This was a HOLIDAY FROM HELL. One so bad that reduced my partner to tears during and after the holiday. I even tried to get an early flight home, to escape the terror of Club Hotel Viva.
