We hadn't been on holiday for seven years and really wanted to get the most from our holiday. My husband is disabled and so it took a lot of careful planning. We had to have doorways which were wide enough for his wheelchair and a pool that he could access using his crutches. Sands beach was better than we had hoped for in this department.

Each villa (or small self catering apartment would be more appropriate) was positioned in a rectangle. There were six of these of which almost everyone overlooked a pool and a paddling pool(the rest overlooked the private beach). While all of this were similar they all varied slightly. Each one had a slope into the water making the pool accessible with a manual wheelchair. Even the main pool next to the Mai Tai poolside bar had a slope. The food there was excellent and average in price.

The staff were all friendly especially four of the entertainment staff. They were very helpful and, if our children were the only two in the kids club they would take them to the beach or allow them to do whichever activity they wanted to. The club was not quiet because it was unpopular it was because it was term time and there wasn't many children old enough to go, there.

The cabarets were ok. A few were excellent the rest average. Daytime entertainment was ok. They would have quizzes, bingo etc. Sports Tv eg football matches were always shown in the Soleil Bar.

Sands Beach is only a 5 mins walk from the centre. From a manual wheelchair point of view it was fine. The kerbs weren't too high and the journey was flat. From an electric wheelchair point of view there weren't enough slopes to get on the kerbs but we managed fine with the chair we hired while we were there.

The only faults we had with Sands Beach were a few accessibilty problems. The shop had wheelchair access from round the back where the deliveries arrived, the gym was unaccessible as was the Soleil Bar. In low season the bar downstairs closes and all the entertainment is moved upstairs. While it is only about 8 steps, accessible for the not so confident on there feet, prams and wheelchairs had to be lifted up. The bar, security and even one of the entertainment staff on his night off were always keen to help. However, once up there, there were no toilet facilities. Smoking is allowed on the balcony were seating is present and is just an extension of the normal bar area.

There are slopes in the centre of the complex but these are too steep for wheelchair users. Access to the Mai Tai etc was safer down either side of the complex.

Apparently a new company had taken over and so a LOT of work is being carried out at the moment. This doesn't particuarly affect your holiday. They are 'doing up' the villas, putting in new furniture, curtains, air con etc. The Hacienda was also being done up so it was closed throughout our 10 day break.

Putting all these things aside the holiday was excellent and we are planning to return. If you are abled bodied the holiday is excellent if you are not its still great. Access problems occurr wherever you go.

Get booked!!!! (directly is a cheaper option)

I stayed at the Hotel for a week, 30th August til 6th September. The villas are organised around 6 plaza type areas, each with a pool and childs pool. Also beachfront villas curving around a lagoon fed by the sea. With a bridge over to the mai tai restaurant serving snacks, bbq and ice cream. I went with mother-in-law (72yrs), husband and 2 year old daughter.

Good points - the villa in Palmeras was fantastic, the best of the 6/7 areas. All refurbished and very clean with maid service 90% of the time. Villa had 1 bedroom with pull down bed in lounge. Still plenty of room for large sofa and easy chair and dining table and chairs. Fantastic double sinks with seperate toilet and shower/bath so we could all get ready at the same time. Entertainment was also good, the usual cabaret shows in the club with a soleil bar offering karoake and more subdued evening. Reception was pleasant with simple check in and great supermarket that sells everything you need at cheap prices. Also good location right on sea front and pleasant walk along to tequise in the midst of everything.

Bad points - the food was diabolical, the main hacienda restaurant was shut for refurbishment so all the dining was decanted to the mai tai - not only a long walk for my elderly motherinlaw but not worth it either. Food was cold and poor selection. We went full board and only went to breakfast and dinner once or twice the whole holiday. Catering seriously lets this complex down. Had the villa not been perfect in ever other it would have spoiled our holiday. I'd go self catering until dining significantly improved.

Also no air con - we hired two fans (17euro each) for the week - this was bearable but only just - heat topped 36degrees some days.

Overall a great holiday, but would check food arrangements before returning (didn't see any cockroaches and no bites - but we did plug two mosquito machines in!)

We travelled with a baby and toddler and stayed in a beach front apartment. It was lovely to wander to and from the beach and you could sit on your terrace and watch them play on the beach. This meant lots of sand coming into the villa but there was a good cleaning service and it was easy to sweep the place yourself.

Our children were too young for the kids club but we saw other children having fun with the staff, one day sailing paper boats in the lagoon. We used the babysitting service which I think was 15 Euros an hour. I gather from others that the children's disco was fun but we didn't see or do any of the other entertainments but the bar quiz seemed popular. It was very much a family resort and we didn't see any bad behaviour or suffer late night noisiness.

We had a one bedroom villa - children slept in the bedroom and us on the pull down bed - husband 6 foot 4 and seemed ok on this bed. There was also a sofa bed.

I would not describe this resort as 5 star, the villas were nice but a bit shabby in places (nothing major, didn't bother us). We liked the Mai Tai bar and restaurant, particularly late afternoon as the pool here seemed warmest (it was windy and a bit chilly when we were there). I was disappointed not to swim more but we were a bit unlucky with the weather.

There's a nice sea front walk to Costa Teguise. There are big supermarkets in Costa Teguise and beyond, but the resort shop is very good and reasonable.

Airport is 15 minutes away - we got the resort transfer bus and this was fine.

It would be a lovely place to go with friends and other families.

We stayed for one week in the Sands Beach Villas during March. We booked the studio Key Largo. The negatives I would say are the fold down beds. Having a Studio we had to use this bed and being 5'11 I found that I hung off the end quite alot as the beds are very small and a bit of a nuisance to have to pull down and make up every night. As for Cleanliness, the maids came every day to some degree but haven't quite learned how to mop. A quick once over was about this but I am not adverse to a bit a self cleaning so swept myself. The Key Largo apartments are slightly off the main pool areas which might cause some people some concern if they are intending to spend days by the pool. I however just wanted a roof over my head so it worked out fine.

In summary a basic accomodation good for a base but not a place I would want to spend long days. then again it was cheap and if there is one thing I have learned its you get what you pay for. It certainly was not as bad as some reviews led me to beleive.

We read the reviews regarding Sands Beach Villas before we booked and to be honest we were in two minds whether to bother.....We were so glad we didn't pay attention to the negative comments. We stayed in the Plaza Del Sol in a 1 bedroomed villa, we were really pleased with the set out of the villa especially just having to walk outside to the pool.

The villa and surrounding areas were clean, tidy and very modern, the children loved the pull down double bed in the living room!...

We went in the childrens school holidays in October and even then it wasn't overun with kids and the pool area was quiet and relaxing, getting a sunbed was not a problem, everyone tended to stick to the ones outside their rooms...All in all we had a fabulous time...

Definitely recommend it and would go back for sure!

We stayed in Amarilla Plaza in a 1 bedroom villa. The villa has just been renovated so it was spotless and everything was new, dishwasher, large fridge freezer, and we also had ceiling fans, could not have asked for a better villa. It was fantastic to walk out your door straight into the pool and not to have to fight for sunbeds as you usually have to,it was October school week so it was still busy with families.

TV had sky news, eurosports and films shown every 2 hours(sheet listing films at reception).

Went to the lagoon bar one afternoon and food was great, kids enjoyed the ice cream.

Pool and surrounding areas cleaned every morning, maids were in daily and very friendly.

We could not fault this place it was great holiday and are going back next year. The villas are being renovated but only being done as and when the owners come out to them for the first time, so if going maybe request a renovated villa as the others are looking their age.

Reception area what you would expect. We stayed in the beach front resort apartments which were the best ones on site, these were of a good standard until you went into the bathroom, it badly needed doing, first time I've seen a bath rusting, got the picture?

Only went to the bar on the lagoon for lunch once, that was enough, ate out in town which was good.

Also there is 2 English TV channels ;sky news and the other one was upto the hotel mangers choice of film, that was it.

Went to main bar one night briefly, more like a holiday camp. I'm not a hotel expert but I have stayed in hotels which are 5 star and this is more 3 star to be honest.

Would not go back.

Sands Beach Villas Del Sol 1 Bed Apartment

If we had read the reviews before visiting Sands Beach Resort we would not have booked!

Fortunately we didnt and had a fabulous 7 days holiday there staying in a del sol 1 bed villa, a bottle of wine was left for us on the patio on arrival and the apartment was well equipt and clean.

We did visit off season so the place was pretty quiet and we couldn't get used to not having to fight for a sunbed in the mornings! I don't think that would be a problem in high season anyhow as there are 7 other pools and a private beach (must add that only the children were brave enough to go in as they were a bit on the cold side in May)

The Hacienda and Mai Tai food was really good, reception area beautiful and all the staff at the resort really helpful and friendly, great supermarket on site, gym, games room and tennis.

The only gripe we had was the childrens play area which was a bit sparse - could do with a bit more for the kids to do on it but it was clean and tidy.

David (one of the entainment staff from Columbia) was a real character and Eva (childrens entainment staff) and Simon (Entertainment manager) were really friendly
The evening entertainment couldnt have been any better with Elvis, Robbie Williams, Madonna, The Eagles and Elton John impersonaters along with Magic and Dance Shows.

We would definately visit again and cant understand why the other people had such a bad time, the place was of a very high standard although we did notice that some of the villas at the edge of the site were quite shabby but whilst we were there we did see that some were being redecorated.

All in all it was a great holiday, great villa and great location

On April 20th 2006, my family and I returned from our sixth visit to Costa Teguise, Lanzarote, and our third visit to ‘Sands Beach Villas’.

As you may or may not know, Sands Beach Villas was build around 1988, and was originally called the ‘Lanzarote Beach Club’, basically selling the apartments as ‘Time Shares’.

After a lot of unpleasantness, during which lots of the original Timeshare Owners lost their money and their Timeshares, the complex changed it’s name to ‘Sands Beach Villas’.

The apartments are now available to purchase as freehold properties however, they are also available to rent for a holiday.

We have always found the complex to be very pleasant, and have never had any really complaints.
To use an Estate Agents phrase, some of the apartments are looking a bit ‘tired’ and in need of a facelift however, we have always found them to be clean and the maid service to be excellent.

They all have a colour TV in them with various English channels, including children’s channels. They also show various English Movies daily between 08.00 Hrs and midnight.

There is a telephone in your room, and on arrival you are given a towel each, which you can change at the onsite laundry daily. The laundry also provides a laundry service charging 9 Euros for every 6 kilos of laundry they wash for you.

There is a 24 Hr. on site reception service whose multi-lingual staff are extremely knowledgeable and can arrange most things – pram hire, trips etc, for you.

The complex is built around six large swimming pools – PLAZA MONTANA / PALMERAS, CANARIAS, AMARILLA, DEL SOL and VERDE. Around each of the pools are various apartments, which range from the basic and cheapest ‘Studio Bungalow’ to 1 and 2 bedroom ‘Key Largo’ and ‘Plaza Villas’.

There are also 2 bedrooms ‘Colarado Bungalows’. The complex also has its own man-made beach, which surrounds a salt-water ‘lagoon’, fed from the nearby ocean. Along the beach are the ‘Beachfront Apartments’, which are great for the kids who can literally step out of their apartment onto the beach.

They can also paddle and fish in the lagoon. There are also various permutations of Beachfront Apartments as listed above, the largest being a three-bed apartment.
The site also has the ‘MAI-TAI’ Pool bar / Restaurant which is open from 08.00 – 18.00 HRS. And serves great breakfasts and lunches.

There is also an onsite ‘Hacienda’ Restaurant open from 18.00 hrs until 22.00 hrs which as well as allowing you to eat in, provides a free home delivery service to your apartment – great for families with young babies who maybe can’t always make it out to the local ressterauunts..

There is a well stocked on site supermarket, 2 Bars – ‘Soleil Bar’ (Sports style Bar which screens all major sporting events and runs entertainment in then evening) and a downstairs ‘Cabaret Bar’, which provides early evening children’s entertainment and then Cabaret Acts and a late night Disco.

The new Entertainments Manager –Simon Carter, is extremely amicable and seems set to continually improve the entertainment programme.

Sands Beach Villas is handy for the local shops and restaurants however, bear in mind that to get to the first main area of shops and restaurants, there is about a 10-15 minute walk.

We always hire a car to visit other attractions and beaches and this is best done prior to arrival as in peak seasons, there can be a shortage of vehicles. Also note that if you intend to get a taxi from the Airport to your accommodation, there is often a huge queue for taxis with a wait in excess of 1 hour.

Our villa was not the size we booked, it was dirty, the villas look nice from outside. The staff are rude and do not help you if they can help it.

The enterainment did not start untill 10pm to late for families. We could have the villa we booked for more money. The beds and mattress were dirty. Clean towels only when you complain. Dead cockroach in kitchen. Not cleaned you had to ask for it to be done. TV did not work very well. Toilet did not work. Villa very cold and damp when it rained it came in from the roof and into my grandsons cot.

We will never stay here again, this was a christmas holiday for our family.

Apartments dissapointing, with furnishings mostly sunbleached, filthy pillows and poor crockery and utensils, cups must have been over 15 years old, supplied with bathrobes which were shredding in areas. Bedding lumpy then When uncovering the mattress I wish I just hadnt.

If you have a stomach of steel then this ones for you.
Holiday made exciting by the number of verbal attacts the staff had with visitors who thought they had points with the club (timeshares) then discovered that all the apartments were up for sale.

Think you ought to give this one a miss.

We stayed on Canaries plaza and loved it.

Apartment although "budget" was clean and well equipped.

The whole complex was spotless, pools cleaned daily as were apartments, and I didn't see any cockroaches either. The little extras like pool towels provided and bath robes were great.

My son loved the kids club and the evening entertainments.

We ate several nights in the Hacienda and found the food very good, hot, tasty, varied and good value for money.

Our only regret is that we didn't go for two weeks.

We stayed in the Canaries Plaza at Sands Beach Villas even thought this was classed as budget accomodation the villas were kitted out with TV , electric kettles ,toasters, irons, hairdryers and were all comfortably furnished.

There was also plenty of fresh towels and sheets also large beach towels supplied so you do not have to carry any with you . Excellent entertainment ranging from daytime sports, games ,quizzes to evening cabarets magicians, acrobats, drag shows, dancers, singers indeed something for everyone.

We ate in the Mai Tai a few times can recommend the kebabs,Breakfasts, snacks all reasonably priced also the lovely homemade ice cream .

ALL the staff were polite and helpful and did all they could to make everyones holiday enjoyable. One of our party collapsed on site and the service from all the staff including The Duty Manager, Entertainment Staff and Reception was second to none we were very grateful to them for everything their speedy actions helped towards a speedy recovery.

We are all looking forward to returning to Sands Beach Villas.

Just back from Sands Beach Villas and had a brilliant time.Location was great, accomodation was excellant.

Had meals in both the Mai Tai and La Hacienda would recommend sunday dinner in La Hacienda (buffet style)3 course and as much as you wanted for 14euros great value.

Staff were very helpful and always very curtious.

Entertainment was some of the best we have ever seen. The accomodation on this complex is being upgraded and seems to be going on as villas are vacated with no or very little disturbance to other guests.

The complex was cleaned all day everyday, pools cleaned every morning. Only day rooms were not cleaned were a Thursday(only departures done) and sundays(the cleaners day off) but they always ensured you had plenty of towels etc.

Would definately go back.

Just got back from a 2 week holiday at Sands Beach! Had a great holiday. Staff were very helpful, and we found the food at the resturant to be very nice.
Didnt see one cockroach around the complex.

Location - Right next to the beach, could see the sea from the complex. Has a shop on site selling basics for food though shops are only a short walk anyway.

As for the entertainment, we didnt see much of it as we prefer to go out of an evening, but what we did see, it seemed of a good standard and the entertainment venue always was quite crowded.

Would come here again as we all had a lovely time!

This place should be avoided like the plague. Its dirty and shabby and full of drunks who make a noise throughout the night. The villas need to be upgraded.
Food was rubbery, and staff had no time for you.

The entertain ment is below reception it is too small and full of smoke, a fire risk waiting to happen.

Got there late on a Thursday evening and expected a luxury villa as shown in the various pictures.

Very disappointed to be given a very tired and small 1 bed apartment. The holiday neighbours next door were smoking and their smoke was wafting through the keyhole in the connecting door.

When I complained the next day, I was told that I would have to "upgrade" if I wanted an apartment similar to the brochure pictures as we had booked the basic villa. The upgrade would give us a proper kitchen and yet the holiday had already cost us a fortune.

Food in the restaurant was poor - cold and unappetising.

After reading some of the reports on this website we nearly booked for an alternative hotel. So glad we didn't.

We stayed in a Plaza one bedroom villa, which was fantastic. There was more than enough room for the 5 of us (2 Adults/ 3 kids 15, 7 &3). It was cleaned every day and the standards were excellent with diswasher, fridge freezer and even cartoon network on TV for the kids.

The entertainment was great with something on every night. The younger kids loved the kids club. The complex itself was spotlessly clean (never saw a cockroach once!!!!).

The staff were brilliant and went out of their way to be helpful. We have travelled on many holiday's around the med and never found a complex to match up to this one, so much so we are booking to back for New Year.

This was our first holiday away together so we wanted it to be close to everything and a relaxing one.

The actual complex was massive, I've never been to one thats so big, but it was really nice as it wasnt cluttered. Also very easy to get about, plus a big map so you dont get lost!

The rooms I thought were lovely! We stayed at the Canaries apartments. They were very spacious and clean. We did have a cockroach the first morning, I just couldnt stop laughing as my partner was scared to death jumping on the bed. We went straight to the reception desk, they were very helpful and even asked if we wanted to change rooms, but all I needed was bug spray.

We even dared to play tennis one day, was great fun but it was too hot after a while. so most days we lazed about on the sun loungers and relaxed in the pool.

We didnt stay for any entertainment as we always went out, but from the laughs we could hear, I think it would have been a good laugh.

We went to the restaraunt one night to see what it would be like, as we were on self catering, they had a good choice as Im vegetarian so I was happy. Very nice vegetarian lasagne and my partner had a mixed grill. He does love his food, but we didnt realise at the time that it was for 2 people, which now we know why the staff was laughing, he enjoyed it though!

We orgingally booked a studio apartment but I would advise anyone to upgrade to a one bedroom villa, as they are based behind the bar and you have walls surrounding you and in our particular studio a bit of a cockroach problem.

However, saying that the hotel staff were very accommodating and we were upgraded for around 50 euros and the villa we were moved to was perfect and we didnt see one cockroach!

Everywhere is clean it is a very family place but the restaurants in costa teguise are very nice, we found a pizza restaurant by the sea which did the best paella I have ever eaten!!! Lani's was good as well especially their sea food.

But I would seriously advise if you have a studio to change now, cause we went in low season and I can see you having trouble with changing rooms in high season.

This was a great self catering resort everything in the villa that you needed so clean you couldn´t fault it.

Hotel food was very good and not far from other bars and restaurants if you wanted but you don´t really need to leave site.

Staff excellent always there if you need them
entertainment was good and will be going back after summer.

There were only two things that made these apartments bearable

(1) We have two small kids and as there was a pool outside the door of the apartment, the kids were able to go in and out by themselves:

(2) There was a cartoon and movie channel in English which the kids also loved as they were two small to be out in the sun all day.

The restaurant is the only one I have visited in the course of my life that I would genuinely describe as disgusting. I could not eat anything they served despite being hungry having travelled that day. That is the Hacinecda restaurant. The other one, the Mai Tai was fine - typical English away from home fare.

The cleaning staff were very friendly and nice and the reception staff could be described as efficient.

Oh the supermarket was very good and made the self catering easy. They even had "kerrygold" butter which means real butter to an Irish person as opposed to that awful white stuff that is called butter in Spain!

Yitka, the physio was really great also. Didn't want to leave her out.

Overall, not sure would go back though.

Great place! Clean and well equiped villa.

We stayed in a Beach Front Villa - really recommend for families with young children. Our little 3 year old loved it!

Sands Beach has a man-made lagoon of shallow water with a very clean, golden sand beach. From the beach front villa you are only 10 ft from the sand.

The walk into town is flat (great for pushchairs) making this a well located hotel.

We arrived just as school term started and it was quite quiet. Certainly no worries about space on the beach!

We used the babysitting service (10 euros per hour) that was offered by the girls on reception.

This was our second visit (last time Sept 03). Can't recommend highly enough.

Don't miss their ice-cream - the chocolate is to die for!

We've been to Lanzarote several times and have always stayed in Costa Teguise.

This was our first visit to 'Sands Beach Villas', and on arrival we were very impressed with the complex. It has approximately 6 swimming pools, as well as a man made beach lagoon. We initially booked a studio apartment, however on inspection, this just consisted of 1 large room with a fold down bed and a sofa bed, and was just not suitable for a family. As such, we upgraded to a 1-bedroom 'Key Largo' apartment, which was ideal. You just opened your patio doors, walked a few feet across the astro turf around the pools, and went for a swim.

I would definitely recommend 'Sands Beach Villas' for both families and couples. It has everything - 2 restaurants, a supermarket, bars, entertainment, Movies of the apartment TVs, loads of pools etc.

The only negative point is that none of the apartments have air conditioning. Even the most expensive only have a ceiling fan. This proved a real problem when we went in August. It was so hot in the evenings that it was difficult to sleep. Most people resorted to hiring a fan from reception and sleeping with their patio doors open. Even this though, made little difference to the stifling heat.

This hotel is rated as 5 stars and I cannot believe how they get away with it. I booked because the brochure looked nice, but we got a poor villa, in need of total refurbishment.

There is a bad smell in bathroom, and that same smell is apparent in the lagoon, so I don’t know if they are connected in some way, stay clear of the lagoon it doesn’t look healthy.

My main gripe was the cleanliness and service, we always go for quality hotels, and this was the most disappointing holiday ever. If you want entertainment and good food leave the complex.

We enjoyed our holiday at Sands Beach. This is our second time here went July last year and will be returning again next year. It is a great family resort you don’t have to worry about the kids all the time as they meet lots of friends and they had loads to do.

The villas are really lovely the one we stayed in had just been refurbished. We stayed in the villas called the Caneries last time and did not like the set up of these. Although we had 4 kids with us and it was a little crowded. They only had a small partial kitchen and could not be accessed when the bed was down.

We had a look round the other villas and they were a little more spacey so we booked a one bedroom Plaza Villa and were very happy with it this time we were not made aware of the difference when we booked.

The Caneries are also noisier as they are all two stories and can get very crowded with lots of kids. There were more cockroaches this year. But if you get a spray in local supermarket it keeps them out of your villa. It didn’t spoil our holiday and I can’t wait till next year.

I highly recommend Sands Beach villas for a super relaxing family holiday.

I have to say this hotel was great, not just for myself and husband, but my 3 kids had a great time and want to go back again.

My children are aged 12, 10, 8 and they made lots of friends, and had agreat time in the disco and around the complex.

The intertainment was good, but very warm as it was all indoors.

The rooms where very clean and maids came in daily. Some coachroaches but not enough to put me off going back again.

I would not rate this complex as 5 star maybe a 3 or 4 but enjoyable all the same.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this complex to any family. not ideal for couples on their own, very family orientated.

We stayed in Sands Beach villas, Costa Teguise and this was our first time holidaying in the canary Islands so we were a bit nervous. Went with our 16yr old son, 12 year old daughter and her friend. Hotel was excellent - good shop, restaurants, location, facilities, entertainment, staff and health and beauty facilities. Cleanliness in villas was average. Found it ideal for children of all ages, 16yr old met loads of like minded people who are one step away from no longer going on family holiday so this provided them with a bit of freedom as the disco went on until 2am and the resort was small enough that I was comfortable when he was out with friends. Activities were provided all day and while the 12year olds didn't attend they were happy at the pool.

The variety of entertainment was excellent, most of the shows were 1st class. I particularly enjoyed one put on by the reps - it was very professional.

My wife and I ended up here when our friends booked it before us and we agreed to go along with them. We arrived late at night and we were disappointed with the "villa" (we later called them chalettes, not a spelling mistake, it's how you say it!) it was pretty basic and worn out.

It was not very clean and the bedding was disgusting. We had booked a 1 bed apartment but they had put us in a studio with a pull out bed that was a joke. My wife and I go camping a lot so we are used to just getting on with it and laughing. Then we realised there was nothing in the place to make a drink with and it was 11pm. At that our friends arrived and apologised to us for booking the place. They had a beach front villa which was woorse than ours. They also have two children and they too had nothing to make a drink with. So, off we go to reception to see if they can help. Oh no problem, you can have a starter pack for your villa. Great we thought, then they hand us two carrier bags with tea bags, coffee, powdered milk, a loaf of stale bread and some dodgy looking cheese. That will be 17 euros each. We begrudgingly paid it and went off.
Apart from that, we were moved two days later (after having the travel agent contact them) to a 1 bed villa. It was OK but not 5 star, no way.

Love the layout of the place with multiple pool choice and so near the ocean.

We had a few great nights in the compex (wish I could remember the name of the band) up singing with the band.

Staff were good and friendly.

Glad I didn't pay the price my mate paid though, they were angry most of the holiday and I'm sure their review would be a lot worse. Oh and their villa was broken into and they lost cash/valuables. Bear this in mind if you have a beach front. Anyone can walk in from the sea front.

The staff weren't very helpful with them. Unfortunately, they claimed that it might have been one of the cleaners so the villa didn't get cleaned for days!.

Like I said, my wife and I make the best of every holiday and carry on regardless. Would I go back, no, but if you can get it cheap based on a three star then I think it's good for families on a budget.

The general feeling about the place was that people felt misled by the 5 star claim.

Oh the restaurant - rubbish. Go into town and eat, much better.

The hotel was great and had lots to do for children.

I had two of my sons with me age 12 & 16. My son at 12 loved it because of the private beach because you could fish there. My other son didn't like it so much but you know what they're like these days.

It was great will go back

We had saved for months to go on our so called 5* holiday! A few good points were the pool, and the entertainment was pretty good. BUT...the bad points..

Our door wouldn't close properly it huge gap in it.

The lampshades and most of the other furniture was black with dirt!

Bath had a hole in it with something crawling out - as did floor tiles.

View from back window was DIRT and ancient crisp packets!

We shared our apartment with about 4 families of cockroaches..and an empty can of spray...infact we had to buy a few cans of spray (NOT CHEAP) from the hotel!

Slept on a coffee table one night as there were cockroaches enjoying the fold down dirty bed! Got moved the third night after spending the night at the reception, and although our new place was sprayed by the men, the site of dead cockroaches falling on the cooker and around the floor wasn't all that pretty!

Im not normally fussy but from any hotel i expect cleanliness, especially from that of a 5*!!

Please do not waste your money, I've been in far nicer 2* and managed to get a good nights sleep without worrying what was crawling on me...I even took videos of it to prove how disgusting the appartment was!

5 star? Was that not a band in the 80s well this place was the 18 80s it isn’t 5 star.

Entertainment was good and that’s all.

I've stayed in Costa Teguise a lot of times however this was very disappointing.

First night 10 cockroaches done a line dance through the villa. So we got moved to the private villas at the front which was a taste of luxury but the taste was dissolved by the state of the pool. Maybe it's us expecting too much but we paid a lot of money for that holiday and were let down by the unfit apartments that were more like Butlins and a restaurant that lacked the basics.
