Dear Customer service manager
My wife and I booked the above holiday one year previous for our honeymoon, recommended by your company at the time as a exclusive luxury 5 star suite hotel which is what we were promised in your ala carte brochure, with a 5 star price for a high standard. We expected and thought this would be worth it for our special holiday. On our return I can only say that we feel devastated, let down and disappointed by Thompson for the poor service and accommodation as our provider. I have listed each complaint including photo images and documentation from the Porto Sani village Hotel.

Poor cleanliness and damage in the aircraft. See picture 1
Day 1, Monday arrived at hotel and had to check in to a temporary suite for 1st night only in the grounds of the hotel as per booking .
Day 2, Unable to unpack or go to reps meeting at another hotel as we had to leave the above room which was insisted by the hotel and move rooms by 12pm, then stay for our holiday outside of the hotel grounds. We explained we didn’t want to move because we had the room we booked, the hotel explained we had no choice.
Day 2, Still waiting at reception until 13.30pm luggage stored in luggage room and waiting for a room to be allocated and ready
Day 2, 14.00pm taken to our room 500 meters away from the hotel complex at the other side of the resort
Our room number 04 was over the shopping complex by the marina, this was not stated in the brochure from which we booked. You advertise only the hotel complex as guests suite based at the luxury 5 star hotel and in your brochure does not state any different to customers accommodation. See picture 6 & brochure page, junior suite information provided.
Room information in the hotel state marina room guests may take there breakfast in the next door ‘SEE You Bar & Restaurant’ instead of the inconvenience of going to the hotel for breakfast, we requested this from reception and they say that was last season and out of date so we had no option but to go through the resort every morning. Then go all the way back to our room to get ready for the day and the beach or go to the bathroom. See resort map
Kitchen area was behind 2 cupboards with no microwave or any facility to make a cup of tea or coffee only one pan to boil water in, the fridge was small and full of goods you could buy at the mini bar with nowhere to store anything. See picture 8
Kitchen cupboard door broken. See picture 9
Closet area was 1 wardrobe for our 2 week holiday to this 5 star ala carte hotel. See picture 10
Damp in closet / wardrobe. See picture 11
Draw in wardrobe broken and hanging off. See picture 12
Bathroom tiles missing and broken. See picture 13
Bathroom bath & shower tape loose and broken. See picture 14
Bathroom shower screen over bath had sharp rusty edge. See picture 15
Bathroom every night was full of ants, we had to plug the holes with toothpaste to stop them getting in
Door frames loose and didn’t fit. See picture 17
Furnishings and cleanliness of our room was of poor quality and not to the standard promised
Holes and wires hanging out of the walls. See picture 19
Bracelet with only sentimental value was taken and missing out of a draw in our room.
Noise from the shops below early morning until midnight (12.00am) when they closed with no privacy on our balcony, people were back and too all day. See resort map
Loud music from the camping site beach bar behind our room all day until 4am or last man standing
No sun beds available on our hotel beach as they were all reserved for other guests early morning & all day, reception explained they take advanced bookings to reserve beds on the beach and by the hotel pool.
We noticed every morning as we walked through the grounds of the hotel to go for breakfast that by 8.30am all the beds by the pool were reserved and taken. In our 14 day holiday we were never able to use the outdoor pool or have a sun bed to relax on, this was due to the fact we were not staying at the hotel or given the room we paid for.
We had an idea to use the sun beds and the indoor pool which was for adults only but we were not able to use the empty sun beds outside the glass doors by the indoor pool area because of the children staying at the hotel. We were on our honeymoon and we feel discriminated against because we weren’t a family with children, In the 14 days no body used these beds which were empty ’ what was the purpose???’. See picture 25
Breakfast in the restaurant was poor, tables were not set, cutlery and napkins missing.
Hot buffet breakfast food was cold and of poor choice
After our fist week we complained to the hotel hospitality manager about the problems that we couldn’t use the facilities of the hotel and the problems surrounding the use of sun beds by the pool and the beach, she tried to explain there reservation policy, this was not 5 star relaxation and luxury as promised.
Hotel evening buffet restaurant only catered for a maximum 70 guests so everyday this was booked as they explained the hotel was full, under the circumstances we had no choice but to only use the hotel for a cold breakfast and the odd drink by the bar if we were out walking by.
My wife went 1.5km early every morning at 7.30am to go to the Sani Beach hotel beach to find 2 sun beds for us to sit on and use for the 14 days of our honeymoon. See resort map.
As you can see no other hotel in the resort allocates and expects guests to stay for there holiday away and out of the hotels grounds, every other hotel gives and provides all facilities to there guests. See resort map.
When my wife went to the Sani Beach Hotel to find the Thompson rep to talk to her about our stay, she was unhelpful to our problems explaining that the room we were in was an upgrade, that you can see is rubbish, she then explained that we should be sympathetic because the resort is busy in August. That is not our problem and does not match the description in your brochure, it totally contradicts the type of holiday we paid for. Then she explained that she only makes visits to the hotel by appointment and she never came to the hotel or our room to see us, she did contact the hotel reception by telephone to inform them we were not happy. See Hotel message to our room provided.
The Hotel staff explained later when we went to see her at reception that our room allocated was not an upgrade but an overspill for couples or 2 people as they were not family rooms and would not usually place families with children in these rooms.
In your brochure the rooms over the shops away and out of the hotel don’t even exist. See brochure page provided.

It is not an opinion it is a fact we were made to feel like outcasts on our so called luxury honeymoon which we had planned for a year, looking at the pictures in your brochure with anticipation of a wonderful, relaxing, luxury holiday in a tranquil setting. After the tension of our wedding (Saturday 4th August) we did not expect what we got or to be putting this complaint in writing after we were suppose to have had a 5 star holiday. Thompson must understand at this point it was only a dream, reality was completely different. We have travelled to Greece for years staying in different resorts understanding the price you pay is represented in the accommodation , location and facilities available, we certainly paid top price for a no frills 2 or 3 star studio with limited use of facilities. The level of accommodation and the location of our room was completely misleading and untrue from the description in your brochure, it was an upsetting and shocking time on this holiday which we would not recommend and never repeat.

Yours Sincerely

Mr Bryn Davies

We originally were booked to stay at the Sani beach club but were fortunate enough to upgrade to Porto sani village and wow was it worth it.

We were celebrating our 5th anniversary with an 18 month old so we wanted luxury and friendliness - did we get it. The resort staff can not do enough for you.

Our typical day was an 8am breakfast at the restaurant which caters great for everyone - we are vegetarian and we had no complaints. Then we'd take a walk around the beach and then to the wonderful beach. As this is an ecological resort there is seaweed on the beach but this is just ideal for al the little fishes my daughter could see in the clear shallow water.

Id definitely recommends this place to anyone looking to stay in a resort and relax. The restaurants are amazing - every single one, yes NTomata has THE best desserts ever but one is really spoilt for choice. There wre quite a few honeymooners here as well who loved it.

I was bitten by mosquitoes but I used repellent on my daughter and she was fine so don’t worry and the wasps are not an issue yes they are flying around but we weren’t bitten once.

Go and enjoy a truly 5 star break

- please note that our daughter was allowed to use the indoor pool between 1-2pm however this is a sap swimming pool and is slightly cooler than a normal pool.

I was really happy that I will visit Sany Porto village, becouse I owed to my family some fun. I work 6 days a week and I am most of the time at work ( my job is restaurant manager of 3 restaurants)And as one can imagine I was trully impressed by the hotel cleanleness, service, food, and well organized operation.

The only thing was the location which is not at he beach, but behind the marina, but as it was May I did not really consider it as a problem.

But the reason that I write this review is the fact that my daughter (7yrs) was not alloud to swim in the inside swiming pool. Even I tried to explain the hotel manager that this is one of the main resons to come to the hotel, he did not show flexibility to reserve even 1 hour term in which we could use that facility with my daughter. He kindly explained that the inside pool is part of the spa and that their policy is not to allow children inside. The dissapointment was greater when I visited the pool and noticed that it is located next to the spa and have separete entrance.

Working in hospitality industry myself I tried to be very polite in explaining him that he can show flexibility in many ways but he sticked to the procedure and did not find a way to solve this issue. I also explained him that when I was making my reservation I specifically asked if there is a inside pool, and that the receptionist did not mention this policy at that time even he knew that we are coming with child.

Other then that it is a great place and I can recomend it to my friends, but please do not advertise it as children friendly.

Regards,

Zoran matlievski

The hotel was luxurious in every aspect and the staff extremely professional but also friendly. We were immediately assured that the hotel was child friendly (our children age 3 and 1)and indeed it was - and with no sacrifice to the high standards.

However I definitely feel that too much mischief/noise/energy would be frowned upon by other guests.

Mealtimes are quite formal with silver service even for the toddlers! One piece of advice is that when you go for breakfast make sure at that point you book your table for dinner as by midday all the sittings are taken. If this happens you can obtain vouchers from reception to use in many of the restaurants by the marina; lots of choice and very good standard but make sure you tell the waiter that you have these vouchers before you order as they may need to offer you a set menu.

The pool area was great. Quiet with plenty of space and loungers, free towels and toys ie buckets, watering cans etc for the kids.

We had a suite which had a separate bedroom with a huge bed and tons of wardrobe space, a kitchenette with a microwave. Our saviour was the DVD player and the hiring of popular DVDs from reception, great for when we wanted to get ready for the evening.

Lovely five min walk past marina (no roads to cross at all)to access fab private beach.

You can order drinks and food at the beach which is lovely and charge it to your room. This can be expensive though, as you would imagine.

Only minor snag was the shortage of a reasonably priced brasserie/cafe for a light lunch or sandwich. But there is a supermarket and ice cream parlour by marina.

No evening entertainment to speak of - just a pianist in the bar. And a children's play area would be a huge bonus.
All in all a lovely, luxurious hotel which i strongly recommend.

We loved this hotel. It is perfect for a lie in the sun type holiday.

Very luxurious and the best pool I have seen - five or so interconnecting areas, starting very shallow and getting deeper, so very safe for small children.

For 5 of us we had 2 bedrooms plus a living area with sofabed, 2 bathrooms and kitchenettes - so 3 separate sleeping areas which was a great help.

Greek Canadian manager was very professional but also great fun, and it was extremely child friendly.

The marina was also lovely and it was good to have a choice of restaurants.

Low key entertainment suited us fine.
