| said: We love this hotel, it is in a quiet cul-de-sac at the end of a road. It is the kind of place that if you wish to be in the hustle and bustle of the resort you can be, but at the end of the evening you will be glad to know it is very very quiet, oh and you can sleep.
I would highly recommend paying the etc to upgrade to sea-view, the views are exceptional, otherwise it maybe a view of the car park !
The swimming pool isn't over sized but plenty of swimming space and loungers. We never had a problem at all getting a bed for the day. If you want the beach, it is virtually on the sea, so therefore 2 mins and you are there. Parasols and loungers are priced at 2.50 euro per item. There is a grassed area near the pool and sea with free umbrellas and sun loungers.
The bedrooms are spacious but the TVs are really really old, some have flat screens but we never and hardly any english channels on them at all.
There is a large balcony with chairs and a table to relax.
Everywhere is spacious throughout this hotel and is good for people with walking difficulties, although Cyprus in general is not good with uneven paths and unfinished roads.
There are lots of activities in the hotel with a daily programme of evens and shows at night which are fairly good.
Breakfasts are good value as other guests have said and equally nice are the dinners with a lot of choice. Although saying this, i found last years better, maybe the choice, i am not sure.
Laundry service here, and you do have to pay for safety deposit boxes about 24 euro per fortnight.
Staff are very friendly, we had no problems at all. We always had a laugh with reception staff, very curtious and attentive.
Surrounding area has a good array of food restaurants, and tour shops, i recommend Platoon for your trips, a lot cheaper than your reps and more knowledgeable. You will find this by coming out of the hotel, reach the fork in the road and it is opposite. Good bars are the Ranch near the hotel for good atmosphere, KoKos where it is 2-1 on shorts. Free wifi at the Windmills bar (when its working) and the fresh house bar and restaurant at the top of the street 5 mins from the windmills.
The fresh house is exactly that, very good prices for all budgets, exceptionally clean and tidy. Panikos and Maria welcome everyone, they are the cleanest restaurant by miles in my opinion. Very friendly, if your choice is not on the menu, Panikos will do it for you. All the family can enjoy the ambiance, including watching TV or playing pool. It is not a noisy place to eat, but tables and brollies are outside to watch the world go by and relax.
Pernera is a lot quieter than protaras, but has a family feel to it, if you want noise at night, but to retire to your room and sleep, then this hotel and area will be right for you.

| said: We visited this hotel 30th june - 15th July 2010 in the middle of a heatwave.
We upgraded in the UK for a sea-view room and got it for all four of us. It was My mum and step-fathers honeymoon, so they received a nice bottle of champagne on arrival.
Rooms very clean and very good a/c. The view from the large balcony was well worth the extra.
We had a double bed and my mum got twin beds pushed together.
There are hairdryers in the rooms but no kettles unless you upgrade further, we took our own.
The shower had always constant hot water and bath.
Breakfast was in a separate room and had a good selection, manly cereals, fruit juices, fried breakfast, yogurts, fruit and danishes. Tea/coffee/hot choc/cappochino.
Main meals are in the restaurant over-looking the bay, all food is delicious, ranging from fish, cold meats, vegetarian dishes mainly salads etc, potatoes, chips, gravy. The deserts are nice, ice creams, cakes, and hot sponges. Drinks are extra and can work out expensive.
The beach is set in a cove, shallow waters for children and water sports. On the actual beach the cost of sun beds and umbrellas are £7.50 euro per day. In the hotel grounds they are free.
There is an indoor pool, quite spacious but as it was hot, it wasnt used.
There are a good animation team who are mainly english and a kids club. Night shows are fairly good, but better in main resorts like Protaras.
Hair salons and shop are in the hotel.
All in all no complaints, but i think the hotel would benefit their guests by giving beach/swimming pool towels.
This is a 3* hotel, i think it is nearer 4* very friendly staff. Would recommend.

The hotel was really Clean...
We had a lovely room with a fridge and tea and coffie making facilties and a sea view..
The breakfast was a slight disapointment not enough choice and most of the time the food was underdone..
Evening meal was a slight improvment although would of liked to have seen more Cypriot dishes on the Menu was the usual chips and pasta for those that like them.
Beaware though of the bill for your bar drinks the waiters sometimes get confused and drinks are added to the bill when they werent purchased this happened to us three times other than that would return to this hotel and this part of cyprus...

| said: First visit to this hotel but have visited the area numerous times.Very clean and excellent staff, all really friendly.Breakfast was fine and a good choice but id been told the food was 'fantastic'so was a little disappointed in the evenings. It was a bit of a 'mish mash' at times and my plate resembled when im cleaning out my freezer using everything up! You cant please everyone though and it was edible and you could always find something so thats just personal taste.
We paid for a sea view in a delux room and it was worth every penny, again personal preference as you dont spend that much time in your room but we didnt regret it and would pay again.
There were daytime activities if you wanted them and it was always easy to get a sunbed.Night time entertainment wasnt much to shout about in our opinion but it didnt spoil our stay.If youre a party animal then its not for you but taxis are there to take you to the nightlife so youve got the best of both worlds here.
Overall a good hotel in a great position and we have already booked to go back next year.

Get yourself a sea view, it was perfect.
The location was perfect and within walking distance of many restaurants and shops and bars. Hire a car a have a look around , it was the easyiest way to explore all the lovely beaches and the water park.
The entertainment was ok but preffered to go out on a night, but if you wanted to stay at the hotel it was pleasurable.
I will be definatly going back.
It was my first time in Cyprus and I really enjoyed it. Couldn't have picked anything better.

rooms were spotless and the maid came in every day we had clean towels every other day. evening entertaiment was fine the entertainment team worked their socks off.

It was the first time we have stayed in Penera but had a great holiday. The buses are so good only 80 cent to Protaras or Ayia nappa and taxis are always available. The hotel animation team were fantastic Guiseppe totally wooed my daughter over, they kept everyone entertained even my 15 year old son who was not bothered about going, darts , archery , pool games ping pong etc. they made us all very welcome. will definately go back

Tha hotel was in an ideal spot not next to noisy bars, but within easy walking distance.
We had a briliant time and will definetly go back.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The animation team were very good, but weren't pushy if you didn't want to join in. We found the food very nice, although sometimes a bit repetitive. The location was great, right on the beach and with bars and restaurants close by. There was enough going on in Pernera to keep the family occupied, with Protaras close enough to take a taxi or walk along the beach.
We would definitely return to the Pernera Beach again

I thought the buffet food was nice - full of pasta's and meats/fish/potatoes (no chips in sight, so if you wanted that kind of food I think you'd have to order seperately i.e people with kids). The cleanliness in the hotel was excellent. Another thing I was pleased about (including the cleanliness of our room which is cleaned regulary) is the the shower in our room was always warm (not always guarenteed when you go away!!)
We didn't really stay for the night time entertainment but the staff during the day provided entertainment which was easy to join in with or equally if you dont want to join in, the staff won't be pushy.
The pool is nice too.
We found the whole holiday very pleasant and will return to Cyprus sometime in the future.

We found the cleanliness of both accomodations outstanding to which we could not fault.there could b a slight improvement in the food, this side of the hotel has improved over the years which is really good.
The location is perfect its nice 2 have the hotel not in the middle of the town as it separates you from the main night life and keeps u away from hearing all the bars etc, but is also nice to have jst a few minutes walk round the corner.
Its a happy medium. The hotel staff make your staff at pernera that little more bit extra special.
Even the hotel managers. It is such a pleasure for people to remember you from year in and year out and take time out to talk to you.
They make you feel so welcome. We all agree that Pernera Beach hotel is the perfect holiday.
I would recommend to everbody.

Was put in a standard room that was terrible, they squeezed the third bed(camp bed)in so we couldn't open the wardrobe door.
Had to upgrade to superior room wouldn't recommend standard room to anyone. Food wasn't that good but the terverna where you ate was on the sea front that was nice.
Pool was nice, entertainment and daytime activities not impressed.
Location quite nice. Hotel was clean. Reception staff were just ok.
I would visit this hotel again but only in a superior room, but they won't guarantee a proper third bed so we won't be going back.

We paid for a safety deposit box in the room.
There is a Tv in the room but only BBC World news in english, so if you want the children to nod off watching Tv, it wont work!
Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas around the pool and garden, you cannot reserve these or the maids will take away the towels. No problems getting beds despite the hotel being full.
Convenient shop within hotel for all essentials and is actually cheaper than shops situated within a few minutes walk.
Reception staff friendly, animation team very good with the children organising waterpolo, diving comps. archery, football etc.for both adults and children at different times throughout the day.
Food disapointing, ate out several times despite being half board.
Have been advised by fellow guests the older part of the hotel trooms very basic,so upgrade where posiible.
Reception staff friendly, all speak English.
Hotel located in a quiet part of Protaras, plenty of pubs/bars/steak houses within 5- mins walk. Local bus or taxi 10 mins to Protaras where very busy bars/restaurants/McDonalds etc and busy night life.
Local taxi service reasonable and reliable if venturing to other areas, Nissi beach a must.
Evening entertainment starts with a mini-disco at 8.30 for an hour then various entertainment if required.Must admit, went out most nights!

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was not brilliant and we only had two options in the evening for the main course. The location was fine.
On the second day of my stay I was awoken at 7.10am by workmen drilling and hammering on the floor below. This had also happened on the first day but I chose to give them the benefit of the doubt. Needless to say I complained to the reception staff and was moved to a different room.
I would recommend this hotel, it is clean and the staff are friendly. If you enjoy good food then I would give this place a miss.

Clean enough but thought they would have changed the towels more often. The maid didnt hoover the 14 days we were there and not very welcoming or friendly.
Bar staff well it was as if you were invisible half the time they didnt rush themselves. Food in restaurant started off ok then it never seemed to be very hot so we ate out.
Wouldnt go back unless it was revamped give me the Anastacia hotel or the Golden Coast hotel any day. Pernera beach was one of the first hotels to be built years ago and now you can tell!!!

Our room 101 was in need of some modernisation and the carpet was threadbare & full of sand there was also a safe in our bedroom which was a cost of 10cyp for the duration of our stay, Our room was also above the bar so we could see the entertainment and the pool area although there was no sun on this side of the hotel.
We stayed half board and the food was ok it did seem to vary, Breakfast was English one day and more like German the next the same with the evening meal, although I would recommend the Thursday night cavery it was the nicest meal during our stay as we were there for 10 nights some of the evening meals were slightly repetitive.
The Pool area was kept very clean although they do have a policy about the reservation of sun loungers that is NOT enforced!! During our stay we witnessed a particular large group reserving the best loungers early in the morning going on trips for the morning and returning in the afternoon to the loungers which was very unfair. We tended to go to the beach next to the hotel which was nice, we also visited Fig Tree Bay and were very disappointed as there was litter everywhere dirty nappies etc.
I found the staff in the restuarant not very friendly, although the reception staff were extremely helpful as were the maids.
Also there is a sunday market which you can arrange through the hotel the market isnt very good but its well worth going just for the excursion to Famagusta the Ghost Town and also a stop off at the view tower for tea & cakes and also the view of the ghost town which was excellent value for money 2.50cyp
The Animation Team were Rubbish !!!!

| said: We were disappointed with some aspects of this hotel!
From the images we had seen on the net and in the brochures we had been expecting a swish modern hotel - what we found was a hotel that in many ways was in need of a total revamp. The hotel is one of the first built in the Pernera ares and it shows.
The public areas were OK but the bedrooms and corridors were not very nice at all. We were under the impression that 3 star accommodation in Cyprus had superior rooms to 3 star Spanish hotels, this was not the case here.
The rooms we had were small and had the decor and furnishings and run down feel of a £15 a night B and B in Blackpool. And oh yes a carpet on the floor in a very hot country that was very dirty.
The food was reasonable but not very well presented and evening meals had to be taken in the hotel's taverna which was dimly lit.
The staff were no friendlier than those we have had in other hotel and my 14 year old daughter was told off for taking chips and nuggets from the children's section when there was nothing she fancied in the adult buffet(is she not a child at 14)
The entertainment during the day was pretty good but at night it was the worst we have experienced since this sort of thing has been going on,it was embarrassing. Every other night had outside people usually local bands and these normally had the effect of emptying the area within half an hour. On these nights there would be no other entertainment such as kids disco and the usual bingo etc before the cabaret. On other nights the animation team did the shows and these were usually a joke. One night the show ended at 10.30!!! that's when they usually start isn't it. It was rather galling to see the entire team in Knights bar at 11.30 when elsewhere hotel shows went on until 12.30.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone wanting lively hotel based entertainment nor would I to families with teenagers who want to mix with their peers and make there own fun. There were only about 6 or 7 of this age in the hotel.
The pool area was fine and clean and because of the large garden and sunbeds there was none of the usual 7 o clock dash for beds.
Overall we had a great holiday but I would not return to this hotel when there are so many modern others in the region.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and the Air conditioning essential. We unfortunately did not have a pool/sea view but will pay the extra on our return next year as its definately worth it as the location is beautiful. The large Pool and choice of sunbeds either around the pool on the grass or the small beach area was great, everyhting on your doorstep although Nissi and Fig Tree Bay are musts to visit. The food was great considering they do have to cater to all tastes and the breakfasts alternated between Continental and English, the Evening restaurants were in a lovely setting overlooking the sea and the food the best i have known in any hotel as usually you just go with it and eat whats on offer but it was clean plates all round followed by seconds?! During our Holiday there was a birthday and we requested a cake at dinner and the Head Waiter was very helpful and accomodating however we did find the other restaurant staff a bit off. We spent our evenings in Protaras or Napa which was a blessed relief as 2 of our party stayed to watch a performance of Grease one night and said it was abismal.....Overall tho we were very happy with the Hotel and the price we paid and are already in the process of organising next years trip to go back.

The food wasn't too bad but not the best we have had in 3 star accomodation.
The entertainment at night was useless - a waste of time,so we went out at night.
Some of the staff were quite surly and could not even offer a good morning at times.
The pool area is nice and also the large garden has loads of sun beds so you can always get one.The hotel is in a nice position near a small beach.
Overall we would not go back here as as I said it is in need of a refubishment in the bedrooms at least.

| said: Have been going back to this hotel for about 15 yers maybe more, Have always had an excellent room, with good sea views.
Never have heard one complaint about the cleanliness, as rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and there are frequent changes of towels.
At times the evening meal was not as we liked but still edible and the breakfast table was always varied with a selection of English and continental dishes. The location of this hotel is excellent and is close to other bars and restaurants if you are looking for something more lively as the hotel itself is quite quiet at night (try the Waterloo Inn)
We have found the staff in all areas of the hotel very friendly and helpful especially the local staff who have been there a number of years, we are treated like one of the family and as this hotel is advertised as a family run hotel for family holidays, the advert is certainly not misleading.
We would certainly visit the hotel again and are going back again this year. We started taking our 2 granddaughters with us when we first went and they are now going and taking their daughters with them!

| said: When we arrived my wife thought we were at the wrong hotel, it is fantastic its rated as three star but way
above that. The rooms are huge with massive bathrooms,
you have everything you could possibly need, including robes and slippers, and the views are breath taking. rooms are cleaned to very high standard every day except sunday, and nothing is to much trouble for the very friendly staff.
Before you go make sure you have made plans for a diet when you return home, the food is brilliant,
ate far too much of everything,it is buffet style
help yourself, great salads, soups main courses and the sweets including cream cakes, fruit, and at least ten flavors of icecream, if you are taking children they have a section just for them, adults not allowed.
As for the location it could not be better any closer and you would be in the sea.
We did not see much of the entertainment which seemed to finish quite early.
There is no noise at night even though you are only a few min strol from the bars and rest.
Day time entertainment is very good if you want to join in with lots to do around the pool, I must say that the pool reflected the rest of the hotel,it was great.
Take a walk around the bay and you will find a beach rest and bar with free sunbeds and waiter service for drinks and food, no need to move if you don't want to.
For night time entertainment try the Windmill bar, it has live shows every night, go early it gets very busy. This was a great holiday at a great hotel my wife cried when it was time to go home, but there is always next year, we will be going back.
I would say to anyone thinking of going to this hotel just go you will love it, we did.

Hotel is spotless.
The staff are really friendly and welcoming but they seem to work very very long hours.
Food was good although evening meal could be improved, never very warm and because of the taverna being by the sea, sometimes the fruit and desserts had flies occupying them.
We were allocated a room without a balcony, we complained and got a lovely ground floor one overlooking the sea no problem.
Fantastic location of hotel made it a really relaxing holiday.

Our doubts where soon dispelled as a warm welcome from staff on check in left first impressions very positive...Hotel cleaned to a high standard with all staff working behind the scenes deserving of a medal...Food of the buffet variety but did'nt have a bad meal throughout our stay with a good variety on the menu.
Location could not be better as very quiet in this area but not to far from Protaras(10min)taxi or aiya napa(20min)taxi.
Entertainment quite good with the animation team of Christian, Ben and Nicole working very hard at all times to put smiles on peoples faces.
Will be returning some time in the future to this hotel as would not want to go anywhere else..!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK PERNERA BEACH

We stayed on half board basis, lovely dining areas for both breakfast/evening meals. Lots of food choices, you help yourself once shown to your seat in the evening.
Staff very friendly & helpful especially Michael & Jana.
During the day they have set times for archery, exercise, volleyball, table tennis etc. Also have excellent outdoor pool area, indoor pool not heated when we went, but not necessary as in mid 70s to 80s when we went.
Both restaurants are non smoking.
My husband had a massage when he was there, £15 for sports massage, well worth it, looking forward to going back!

The one we chose (eventually) cost us £10 more per night but at least we did manage to sleep. The hotel grounds are superb (but go the the lawns to sunbathe otherwise, you have manic music and entertainment reps trying to rope you in).
The food was pretty second rate as far as we were concerned, although there was quite a variety..The staff were reasonably helpful, but we can`t say the same about our rep. No-one was on hand on our last day to inform us of a delay of at least 8 hours before take-off.
We ended up having several meals at Knights pub (excellent) but we did get a great tan and the sunbeds were extremely plentiful. Hotel reception was quite impressive but we found the rest of the accommodation quite dingey with some really badly stained carpets..
Would not go back to this hotel nor travel with Olympic again but love Cyprus...One more thing (or two) DO go the Dancing Waters show in Protaras (drinks are expensive, so get tanked up first) but be on the look-out for crafty so and so`s assuming you don`t understand Euros..
We were `done` twice ( but not for long)... At least there are no time share hawkers (yet!) Cheers

The only problem is the entertainment is not good at all. We tend to go the Blue Bay bar which is situated next door they are really friendly and we are due to go back next year with the whole family about 17 of us.
The staff are very friendly and know all of us on first name terms now.
The hotel is very clean and the food is good with a range of dishes to choose from.

*Staff were very friendly, and helpful too.
*Food was of excellent standard. Breakfast had a very good choice. Evening meal was nice sat next to the beach and choice was also very good, drinks had to be put on a tab and you could settle it after your meal or at the end of the holiday - i would recommend to settle it every day then you can keep a check on what is being put onto your account and you can then query it if needs be.
*Rooms were decorated nicely, we had a room a corner which had a view of the sea and a shop.
*Entertainment was good, what we saw of it as we went out most nights.
*Location was good, you could take a little walk over to protaras, and nice beaches nearby. The beach next to the restaurant was good, and would recommend Fig Tree Bay any day, one of the best beaches I have ever seen.
My boyfriend and I would definitely return to this hotel once we've discovered different countries first.

When our brochure says it is in Protaras near the facilities it is extremely misleading as the hotel is in Pernera which is near to Protaras. We found the food - particularly for the kids - to be very repetitive, the entertainment team try really hard but that too is not great.
The rooms need to be overhauled and the rooms that are really good are the ones you have to pay a lot more for and could not be used by families.
We would not go back.

| said: I visited this Hotel with my girlfriend in August of 2003 and stayed for 2 weeks on a half board basis. I will try and keep this report short and to the point:
1. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone who is a fan of Air conditioning (it was really superb in our room), beautifully scenery and a relaxing holiday. You have the option of visiting Protaras or Ayia Napa in the night which we did once or twice and enjoyed it. The great part is that you go back to a peaceful hotel with a lovely cool room.
2.Food= In a nutshell (and I have quite an appetite i.e. will try anything) breakfast was fair and evening meal satisfying. Lovely restaurant on side of hotel looking over sea makes it a truly amazing place to eat.
3.Tip. You must have lunch in the little restaurant/cabin on the way to protaras beach. There is a dirt path over looking the sea all the way to Protaras and half way there is a wooden cabin which serves the most amazingly fresh food for a reasonable price. You sit out side looking straight out to see. I would describe it as the most tranquil place I have ever visited. We went back each day when we found it. Truly hygenic and clean place to eat. Will take about 15 mins walk.
Conclusion: We had a superb time and would certainly go back.

| said: The hotel is in a cul-de-sac with rooms facing a field or sea-view. To have the sea view as an upgrade is well worth it, ask for room 460, it is on the top floor, the most beautiful view ever seen, will take your breathe away, just email them and ask for that room.
The rooms are very huge, consisting of a double bed, and if travelling with someone else will be sleeping on a camp style bed facing the balcony.
The bathroom is very large with a bath, toliet, and sink. The floors are carpeted.
There is a very good sturdy safe which you pay extra for, and extra for the fridge, believe me, you will need it. Beds are comfortable, air/con free if you want it.
The balcony is private and ours over looked the tennis courts, swimming pool and the beach/sea, glorious and turquiose.
There are lifts everywhere and ramps for the wheelchairs or buggies, Pernera is very flat the pavements are pretty good. The hotels entertainment is good, there is a games room for the kids, aerobics, darts etc etc, loads to fill in your time.
The beach is right outside the hotel, this hotel has the nearest beach on the door step. It has a rocky inlet and is very private, safe for children, not over crowded like protaras, there are water sports like pedaloes, ringos, sailing, canoeing, banana boats. The deck chairs on the beach which you collect yourself and parasol is Cy£1 per day each person, which is roughly £1.30 per day.
The swimming pool is large, the sun beds are free, but are small and a funny shape, the pool area does get crowded in summer. As I went in June 2001, it was extremely hot, 90-100 degrees every day, it is avisable to wear factor 25 sun cream if going at the height of season, you burn very easily as I did.
I would advise to go to the early sitting eating at the hotel as all the food is hot. As the night wears on, they dont re fill the trays until it is empty, by that time is gets cold, thats when you can get tummy upsets.
Also remember do not eat fruit unless you can peel the skin, eg, like melon, it is washed in their water and not boiled. At night wear mozzie spray because being next to the sea, it attracts them, remember to keep your balcony closed at night. The area is quiet, the restaurants are lovely as are the bars, plenty of karoke.
The managers will get to know you on a personel manner by the end of your stay. Around the corner about 5 mins walk is a water park, don't waste your money, it is not cheap, the better one is on the out skirts of Ayia Napa, based on Greek Gods, you can get there by local bus 50p dirt cheap, go early whilst the buses are empty.
Dont buy tickets for trips by your rep, it is up to you, but in the centre of pernera they are much cheaper.....
Also be warned about the mini cruise to Egypt, we went there and the boat is very down beat(the senerade), the cabins are smelley. We got the upgrade to outside cabin and paid £400 for the weekend for 3 of us, it was fusty. The ship was un safe, and people were very ill including myself with food poisioning... it is not what you think. Egypt was great though, better to do it separate, please do not end up ill...........
