For the price we paid this was a good choice for a weekend break. It was 10 mins walk to Las Ramblas. There are a few bars right next door for late night/early morning drinks etc.
Our room was basic but clean and you do only sleep in it. One night we had noisy neighbours but security sorted it out within 5 mins. I would stay here again when next in Barcelona

Excellent location, although you may get a bit nervous cutting through from The Ramblas. Hotel fairly scruffy in appearance although in reality very clean.

We had to go through the garage and up in a tiny lift to get to our room, and it was very noisy at night when the clubs kicked out, although I did watch an amusing fight out of the window at about 4am on the Sunday morning.

Breakfast was ok nothing more.

With this hotel you get what you pay for, a budget hotel, if all you want is somewhere to put your head it is fine.

Firstly I need to say that this was not our original choice of hotel. The agent we booked through called us less then 24 hours before we were due to leave to say that due to some contractual problems they were pulling out of the other hotel and offered us this one. Our hands were tied as it was far too late to do much about it so I was a litle worried, however..........

The hotel is very easy to get to. Take Aerobus from airport to Placa Espanya, get on the metro, two stops down to Parallel and the hotel is literally 500 meters away.

Plus points - There is a good continental breakfast choice included in the price - fresh fruit, yoghurt, 2 cereals, pastries, toast, cold meats and cheese, 3 kinds of juice, tea, coffee and herbal teas.
Check in and out was a breeze (even without a hotel voucher as in our case)
Location - it's so convenient to hop on the metro just a few steps away and get to all the main tourist areas.
The cafe bar adjacent to the hotel seems to stay open all night so it's handy to pop in for a night cap.
Our room was exceptionally clean.

Minus points - The hotel is on a very noisy road, luckily I had read this the afternoon before and insisted on a quiet room. We were in the annex across the underground car park. This was a quiet part of the hotel, however as there are no carpets anywhere, people's footsteps & voices did echo. I assume that our late booking didn't help as the hotel was full, but we ended up next to some kind of storage area where the cleaners stored their equipment!
Room extras - We could not open our complimentary room safe and when we queried it were told that none of them worked and we had to rent a safety deposit box (however at E1.5 per day it doesn't break the bank)

If you want four star luxury, don't stay here. However if (like us) you intend to be out all day and only need somewhere to sleep and want a budget hotel in a handy location that is clean and offers a good breakfast to start the day; it might fit the bill. Just make sure you ask for a quiet room and take some earplugs!!
