| said: We recently returned from our 2 week holiday at the Aquasol, on a self-catering basis.
we had a lovely holiday, the hotel is clean and comfortable with lots of different areas to sit and relax or eat. Our 1 bed apartment was very spacious, air conditioned, cooking facilities were basic(a fridge and a couple of cooking rings),but in line with other places we have been. The rooms were cleaned every day except Sunday (including towel changes)
There are 3 good size pools suitable for all ages with lots of daytime activities on offer (aqua aerobics, water polo, darts etc) or you could just laze away on a sunbed overlooking a lovely sea view. We upgraded to half board for one week as food is fairly expensive, and there is a good choice, well worth the £7.50 a day.
There was the usual 'sunbed hogging' & towels left on overnight, but if you're going to 'see' Cyprus, get out and about & want a great place to stay, you'll have a great time here!
PS, The hill that everyone refers to is no bother at all, just take it slowly. Not worth anywhere near as much fuss as it gets on here!!

Spacious appartment which was clean although fairly basic. There was air-conditioning - our stay would have been unbearable without this as it was very hot.
The pools were clean and safe for young children, although we did hear reports of ear-infections.
The food was ok, with a good variety of dishes in the evening. The staff were efficient but not particulary friendly.
There is a steep hill leading down to the hotel which would be unsuitable for wheelchairs but not as bad as some reviews have made out. Would be a good idea to take a torch if you like to go for a walk in the evenings.
Negatives: The Aquasol did not meet our expectations of a 4 Star hotel; the accomodation is basic and the furnishings are rather jaded.
There was a mini disco and bingo every night: great if that's what you enjoy. If your appartment is near to the pool/bar area be warned that you will probably find it very noisy.
Our main complaint is that loud music was constantly playing around the pool area from about 10.30am until 1.00am. If you are a fan of 1970's disco music, then this is the place for you! Best avoid the Aquasol if you are looking for tranquiilty and solitude!

Some staff were friendly and others were not.
We had ants in our room like most others.
The hotel was at bottom of the hill so it was a steep incline, no good for the elderley or unfit.
The food in the hotel was good and up the hill in Coral Bay was very good. We recomend the Sndria steak house on the strip, 10 out of 10.
We got married in Peyia town hall, beautiful location and would recomend it too anyone.
Overall good holiday and would return.
My travel flights ok but very cramped. Staff were friendly and the food was ok.

The food was horrid, but ok if you like a varied diet!!! There was nothing for the kids to eat at all...
The evening entertainment consisted of bingo and a mini disco every night!!!!
The apartments were clean, however my daughter had a bed on the floor which was filled with ants!!!!
The place is okay if your not all inclusive and not a fussy eater..

| said: We booked our holiday through My Travel/Going Places and were told we would be based in the centre of Paphos. We arrived at the Aquasol late at night but soon realised we were in a totally different resort!
The room we were put in was situated at the rear of the complex and we were told we would have a sea view, we opened our patio door to find a plot of waste land filled with rubbish.
Our party consisted of 3 18-24yr females, we were not impressed. Our room also had the most revolting smell, ants, spiders and the air conditioning unit was broken. We contacted My Travel and were told there was nothing they could do.
We took our cases back to reception and explained our problems to the night porter who got us a temporary room for the night as we were to scared to return to the allocated room.
We saw the reps next morning and their reaction was appalling, luckily the hotel staff were very nice and later changed our room to a different one.
The hotel food was very nice and the staff lovely but the reps and My Travel staff were the worst I have ever experienced.
The hotel is situated at the bottom of a hill but Coral Bay isn't that far away and is packed with restaurants, shops and several bars, ideal for a quiet family holiday but not what we wanted.
The hotel is meant to be a 4 star, it might have been when it was built but I think 2 star would be realistic. The rooms are run down and need a serious makeover!
Overall our holiday was a nightmare but this was mainly due to the My Travel staff, we would never go back to Coral Bay and this is also due to how expensive everything was, we spent a fortune.
If you do book this hotel be prepared to be disappointed if you expect a 4 star and dont book with My Travel.

The food was gorgeous, especially the tuesday night bbq around the pool. Evening meals were never boring something for everybody, even you chip fans.
Sometimes the eggs and beans were cold in the morning but otherwise lovely.
The hill is a pain in the backside but if you just go up into town once a day, it wont kill you.
Food good.
Hotel clean.
Nice little town with nice bars.
Good bus service.
Go for it. Its worth it.

The hotel its self is perfectly situated on the beach although it is stoney but clean. The maids came four times in the week and the appartment although basic it has everything you need and was spotless as was the rest of the complex.
Fantastic pool and a nice size, pool bar was lovely and all ways kept very tidy. I would recommend this to anyone old or young. We had a fantastic time best holiday ever.

We stayed in a 1 bedroomed apartment and the air conditioning leaked over the floor and our clothing but the manager was a great help and we were moved to a ground floor poolside apartment which was brilliant.
The entertainment was not as good as last year, the reps from direct holidays and airtours were great in 2005 (Andy & Craig)
The apartments were very clean as last year but we noticed that the pool area was not as clean as 2005.
We personally would not advise anyone to go all inclusive as the food is not very good at all. I am afraid to say that eating out in Coral Bay has really got expensive in one year. Great restaurants to go to are Coral King but rather expensive but great staff and the fish & chip restaurant this is fantastically priced and also have a take away service.
I personally would not go back to Coral Bay straight away due to price increase.
Hi to all that stayed in the Aqua Sol from 23rd July for 2 weeks

Having had bad experiences before I was not that keen but eating out in Coral Bay was not cheap so decided to take the offer. The food was really fantastic could not fault a thing and I have 2 fussy kids -x
The rooms were clean and spacious - we only had a studio and I thought it would be small but it was great. We booked last minute and I had read some not so good reviews but we had a cracking time.
The entertainment was good and the kids entertainers were excellent especially Leanne and Carole who kids loved. I would come here again - also hotel shop is like Aladdin’s cave and sells everything also it’s cheaper than the shops in resort which was unusual.

After we got down the cardiac hill everyone talked about, we were greeted by helpful reception staff with drinks and to my surprise one of the reps (Ash),showing us to our room which i have never seen before on arrival!! Check in was very quick and the reception manager ''John'' was also very polite. Even more polite when we asked for a room change, it was done immediatley.
The pools, bar and restaurant area were very nice and nicely laid out. There was lots to do for our youngest in the day times and evening thanks to the airtours kids club and entertainments team. Allthough our eldest found it hard to be entertained, but he soon made friends.
The venue for evening entertainment was also good, and we enjoyed a excellent show performed by all the airtours and Mytravel staff.....Emma had a great voice!! And thumbs up 2 Ash for being the only bloke dancing and singing.
The hotel staff were very helpful and we're teaching us Greek!! Which the kids enjoyed. As hello sounded like a milkshake '' yassoo''. Also we thought the friendlyness of ''Ash'' and Cori'' the Mytravel reps was the best we have ever seen...I personally think they done an excellent job!
We are looking to return in 2006, hopefully all the familar faces will still be there! Keep up the standards and the good work guys!!!

The issue I read on the reviews about the hill are exagerated, we saw plenty of pensioners climbing it in less than ten minutes.
Particularly enjoyable was the experience of laying on a sunbed under an umbrella (if you chose) and looked directly onto the sea.

| said: Stopped here out of season so wasnt expecting too much--but was pleasantly surprised.
The rooms were cold on a night and the air conditioning wasnt that hot--so a few more blankets or vodka and cokes remedied that!!!
The hotel itself is situated at the bottom of a very steep hill and would be a problem for people with walking difficulties--this road is badly lit and also has a few pot holes. Was only about 5 mins walk from the resort of Coral bay. The hotel is situated on a rocky/shingle coast line and is ok for older kids to play on.
The pool was clean and the area around the the pool and leading to the sea was very spacious--plenty of room for the kids to run wild including a slide and a volleyball net. The hotel staff were brilliant, very friendly and couldnt do enough for you.
The entertainment was provided by the reps in the form of karaoke, quizzes etc and there was also a greek night with traditional dancers.
Bar prices were average for the resort but made most of the BOGOF on cocktails between 7 and 8 and 11.30 and 12.30(bar closed at 1am). We stayed self catering but did use the hotels restauarant on one occiasion--CYP5.5 for a buffet style evening meal which was well above average although the breakfast(CYP 5 for a family of 4) could have been a bit hotter.
The rooms were cleaned every other day to a high standard. All in all a very good accomadation and would definitely return.

| said: We booked this hotel as a last minute deal. My friend had stayed in Paphos before and we were looking to escape the grim British winter and enjoy a bit of sunshine. This wasn’t to be! Upon arriving we were greeted by a torrential downpour which seemed to last all week. It was actually colder than back home! We had expected to be staying close to Paphos town, but on arrival we discovered that it was at least a 30 minute bus drive. This was a problem as although all the bars and clubs were open in the Coral Bay resort, we found we were the only one’s using them!
The hotel itself is pretty modern and the rooms are clean and tidy. The staff are all very helpful. There’s a happy hour which runs in the bar between 6-7, this normally is 2-4-1 on cocktails and drinks. The food in the restaurant, however, is pretty dire, I’d recommend going self catering rather than half board. You can have the option to go half board, by paying a supplement upon arrival (£15 Cyprus pounds for 3 days B n B). I think that would work out cheaper than booking to stay half board and also allow you to make your own mind up about the food! The local bars all compete to offer the best full English breakfast. I would defiantly recommend Blazing Saddles, great value for money!
The outside pool looked lovely; however it was far too cold to use it. The indoor pool was open and because there weren’t very many people staying in the hotel we found we had it to ourselves most of the time. Entertainment wise was pretty poor. Though this was no fault of Dave, the entertainer. He did a fanatic job, but because of the poor weather no one was really getting into the spirit of joining in things. Also I think it was more aimed at families – Bingo, Cabarets and the usual rubbish. Dave, did however take us into Paphos, on his night off! We had a fantastic time – the nightlife in Paphos is so much better than that of Coral Bay. There is a regular bus service which runs to Paphos town; however this ends at 7pm in the winter. Taxi’s aren’t that cheap, but if you are getting a taxi into Paphos at night, get the hotel receptionist to call it as they will negotiate a set price rather than allowing them to run the meter.
The famous hill isn’t as bad as it seems, it’s not very well lit, but that isn’t a problem when you’re staggering home at 3am after one too many Keo’s! Wouldn’t be any good for the elderly though!
I won’t even mention the beach, because I wouldn’t even call it that! It’s extremely dirty and looks more like a rubbish tip than a pictures holiday haven! Not very safe for young children!
I wouldn’t come back to this hotel, it’s along way from all the action in Paphos, and during our stay it felt like we were staying in a morgue! Everyone couldn’t wait to get home! However I’m sure the whole holiday would have been a lot better had the weather not been so bad – Don’t book here in the winter season, you will be disappointed!

| said: First of all I have to say that we got a great deal for this hotel via the internet.
Our room was of a good size, fairly well appointed and decorated to a reasonable standard. The beds and the general furnishings were very comfortable. Having said that, talking to other guests we may have been very lucky.
The rooms were cleaned every other day to a very high standard. In fact on day the maids washed a few dishes that were left in the sink. We also had a very nice sea view via a large balcony.
The grounds were fairly well kept and generally clean with a couple of exceptions.
The small pool at the bottom of the 'waterfall' was very dirty with quite a bit of rubbish in it. Also the were a couple of areas that needed clearing of rubbish on the grassed/rocky area (not a beach!)leading down to the sea.
Now for the location. So called 'cardiac hill' wasn't as bad as we expected from reading other reports. Although it did indeed have several large potholes and was very badly lit. Having said that the hotel was very well positioned in relation to the Coral Beach resort.
The staff very efficient in our dealings with them, and also very pleasant.
As for the entertainment, well it was typical of the type in this kind of complex. It was very much geared to families, and as we traveled as a couple we didn't take advantage of it at all. I was quite happy to put up with the disco music for the 'Aquasize', but failed to see why we had to put up with loud music all day from the poolside bar, especially as much of it was continually repeated.
We would not visit the hotel again, mainly due the location of the resort.

| said: We were extremely happy with the Aqua Sol Village. The cleanliness of the Hotel, the service and the facilities.
Our room was cleaned well every other day. (I don't think Howard Potts realises that most of Greece and Cyprus have been using the 'no toilet paper down the toilet rule' for quite some years now, and it wasn't a rule made by the Hotel).
The Apartments are pleasant well sized and practicle. Most of them have decent views over the pool and or sea. The bathroom was well sized and well ventilated. The beds were surprisingly comfortable and the Kitchen was more than adequate.
The receptionists were all lovely especially the lady with blonde hair (sorry I'm bad with names). Both outdoor pools were lovely - with plenty of comfy Sun beds.
The entertainment was great - there was a wake up song @ 10.30am (good morning, good morning) then Aquasize (water aerobics) went onto until 11.00am, and some music always carried on after that for around an hour.
There was an afternoon quiz which was sometimes very tricky. Water Polo every day for Children and Adults.
The evening entertainment was good, Bingo almost everynight and a wide selection of entertainment catering for adults such as Casino/Quiz/Cabaret, the Children had mini disco to knacker them out in the early evening. Andy, Becky and Laura were great. Laura has an amzing singing voice, Pop Idol watch out!
We didn't eat in the Hotel at all (however some other guests said that it wasn't all that). There are enough restaurants at the top of the hill (yes it was a nasty hill, but kept you fit). The Italien restaurant on the corner - opposite the Bus Stop was lovely.
In the Brochure it may say about sea views. This doesn't mean the hotel is on the Beach tho - it was a very rocky beach which no body ever went on. The Main beach is a 15 walk away and is OK. Nothing like the beaches in Ayia Napa and Protaras.
There is a Gym on site but don't get excited as it's a small (smelly) room, with some Dumbells and excercise Bikes. But who wants to work out in that heat anyway.
Definately a Hotel that suited most ages, especially Children, and Adults that are young at heart and like to have a laugh.

Having said that, I found our room to be shabby, ill cleaned and very well worn around the edges.
You should be aware of the generator room which was 7 yards from our room and on the go 24 hours a day and is clearly audible.
The travel agent never mentioned the charming arrangements for lavatory paper, it doesn't go down the loo but into a basket next to the loo, thereby stinking out the apartment and attracting God knows what wildlife.
The music starts at 10am and finishes at 12pm when parents and grizzly kids stagger back to thier rooms and begin slammingdoors....wonderful!
The food in the hotel restaurant is mediocre at best although there are numerous eating places at the top of the hill.
Yes, THE HILL. Our travel agent described it as "A bit of an incline" Ha bleedin' Ha! It's like the north face of the Eiger, and being disabled, I was totally unable to get up it.
My family and i moved out of this dump after one night and paid dearly for the privelege.
I can only describe it as a workingmans club with sunshine.....never, ever again.

Apart from the hill it is down which ,means if you would rather not spend money on taxis or hire vehicals then you are faced with a very steep hill which was ok for us as we are young but not very good for elderly or those with children.
Personally we went out at night to the village at the top but on a few nights we stayed and the entertainment was amazing for children even though i now have "cartoon Heros" stuck in my head!!
The best feature of the hotel were the Pools. The main outdoor one was huge and never over crowded the childrens pool was built well so that parents can sun bathe around it but the hidden beauty is the indoor pool which you can look down on from the main floor and it is surrounded in water falls very beutiful.
The rooms are basic but thats perfect when away. so overall it was a pleasurable stay.

| said: The aqua sol was on the whole a good place to stay . However we were a little disappointed with the rooms, which were sub standard for a 4 star. Examples are broken drawers, burns on furniture etc.
The cleanliness I have rated low mainly due to the inside pool area and spa which was really bad, but the main pool was cleaned daily and the rooms a bit sporadically although should have been daily .
The hotel is at the bottom of what is described as a 'slight incline' understatement of the year!! So the location is not the best if you have a pushchair /wheelchair to lug about. The whole apartments also had steps only ( no ramps) which makes having small children in buggies a problem.
The entertainment is butlins in the sun. The kids absolutely loved it and the entertainers were fantastic. The only trouble is that yes I did the dances after a few drinks which is bad and have brought the CD home to do them at home after a few!!

Immaculate apartments in lovely complex, with tv, toaster, kettle, air cond. in both lounge and bedroom. There was an offer of half board for just over £6 a day or all inclusive at £18.50 a day. We didn't bother as we like to try local tavernas.
I agree with all Pubdog says.
I would add that the Meze in the Seriani restaurant was superb. Another good restaurant is the Corallo. It's very popular and advisable to book. Excellent home cooking and very reasonable prices.
If you crave Britlish food there's a really good chippy. TIP...just order the standard portion
We hired a car for 3 days from Chris next to the sandwich van. Nesta and Maria were cheaper (and lovely people) but they were fully booked. We should have booked with them on the first day there.
I would add that the accommodation is at the bottom of a hill (more like a ski slope) and not recommended for elderly or disabled.

| said: Brandie - you beat me to it LOL
We went to the AquaSol Village in February - we got a bargain too . It is right down at the bottom of a long hill from the Coral Bay main road where all the bars and restaurants are. Tip: leave your bags either outside or in the entrance when you check in. When we went people were struggling to get in with their bags only to find that they had to go out the same door again to go to their apt.
I liked the Village, its made up of little blocks of apartments two high. Each is numbered and so apt 1414 would be block 14, 1st Floor, Room 4. We had nice (partial) sea views, but some of them will be tremendous, we were so close to the sea that you could hear the waves even inside with the patio door closed. It's also a good place if you like cats (which my wife does)!
There is a bar in the main building which we didn't often frequent as there are good places up that hill.
Again, there is a shop on site which we also didn't use - we went to Orphanides Supermarket in Paphos itself.
My fave restaurant was the Seriani - great Suckling Pig, like a Sunday Joint all to yourself !
Don't bother with the welcome meeting unless you've never been on holiday - sorry, I mean to Cyprus The most blatant timeshare person ever lol. Oh and on that subject the timeshare scratchcard touts were in operation already when we went. Either tell them you have already won this week or just keep walking - if you get asked the main prizes this year include tickets for the opening - thats what it says - they imply of the Olympic Games, but it doesn't actually say that!!!.
Hire a car from Nestor and Marias half-way up said hill and do the run around the Akamas Peninsular - absolutely brill for driving and scenery. Finish it off with a run into Polis and Latchi for a great day out.
