This was the first time we had stayed AI. We anticipated that there may be limitations to the quality of "free" drinks and snacks. However all in all we could not say that the quality of the food available was poor but we have had more selection in the past when staying half board.

The main issue was the drinks. During the day this was not a problem, at night however the area from which you had to get your drinks could be likened to a basic taverna with uncomfortable wooden chairs and a "canteen" feel to the place. We chose to sit in the main bar area where there were more comfortable seats, however obtaining them was the difficulty! My husband was not as fussy as me about the quality of drinks available and whilst I am not a big drinker it would have been nice to have been able to drink something palatable! I chose not to drink from plastic beakers, often rough around the edge.

As other people have stated there are few English guests, something that we have no issue with normally but we did find that there was little opportunity to "mix" and our 12 year old son became a little isolated and bored during the evenings.

The entertainment was pants........geared toward the humour of other nationalities and very childish. If you are reading this before going to the hotel, do not be totally disappointed! We made the most of our holiday and there are many positive points I have only pointed out the negative!!!

I would recommend that you have a good look around the island as well as relaxing around the pool,it is a lovely place. We didnt stay in the main hotel, we stayed at what was originally Matoula Beach. It was quieter and the sun beds were free (If you could get hold of one). The guy cooking pizza and serving drinks in that area was lovely, as were all the staff that we had contact with.

We had read reports about the Matoula being poor, if you do not like your room ask to be put on the 3rd floor (as we did) they are upgrading from the top down and the rooms are much better.

The aircraft noise did not bother us, we enjoyed looking at the under carriages and guessing the next one! The main bonus was that it drowned out the constant noise from the animation team!!!!

Now, before i start can i just point out that i've posted a fair few reviews (on here and on other websites) about hotels & holidays and if you read them then you will know that we are not the sort of family that go away looking for things to moan about....we believe a holiday is what you make it!!!

Onto the review - this hotel is a fantastic place to go on your summer hols....if you're german!

I've never met such an ignorant, arrogant, pig headed, rude and generally bloody awful race of people in my whole entire life and never again will i holiday in a hotel that doesnt cater for Brits as a majority. We go on holiday to taste different cultures....but these cultures are of the land we're in and not of the majority race of people that happen to be staying in the hotel.
They dont believe in queueing for food/drinks, they ignore you when you say "morning" or "hello" in passing or in the lift, they knock into you then look at you as if you've just dropped out of a dogs bum and its your fault when you turn round and apologise out of common courtesy.....awful people, and dont even get me started on the speedo's issue :-) lol

Everything about the Blue Bay is geared up for the Germans, from the food (when its not a themed italian or greek night) right through to the entertainment which can only be described as rubbish toilet humour. There was me and my wife, our 2 kids (11 & 4) and 2 other couples with their kids who generally sat together each night and couldnt believe that people found the "entertainment" funny!!! Billy & Baboue are a good laugh and do try hard, but you can tell they're trying to please the majority of guests which is fair enough. My 4yo danced to the mini disco everynight though and loved it!

It's a shame really as Rhodes is a beautiful island (our first time there) the hotel itself is really nice, very clean and the rooms are big enough for what you need on holiday (somewhere to store your clothes and sleep in), we had a lovely view of the pools/stage & Turkey from our balcony, we did have a few ants in our room - mountaineering ants i think as we were on the 4th floor, but nobody else we spoke to did so maybe we were just unlucky, the pools were ample, however the 2 smaller ones we used were only cleaned once while we were there, the largest pool only cleaned twice i believe - this in my opinion is nowhere near good enough but there you go!

The food was nice enough, that said i'll eat anything thats put infront of me, but the choice was a quite limited. My 4yo is a fussy eater and didnt really eat at all while we were there and it was a big concern to us, so much so we comitted the cardinal sin and took her to McDonalds in Faliraki just so that she'd actually eat something. It was our first time going all inc too and were told by some ohers at the hotel that it was the worst AI they'd ever stayed at due to the limited choice of drinks too. The kids loved it for the non stop ice creams and coke and i liked the beer, but the wife didnt like anything so i had to pay for her drinks all week.

Another point to note - the aircraft noise, yes they do fly a little low but its not a problem at all as you get used to them and dont notice them. It didnt bother us during the day or night so dont believe it when people tell you its unbearable!!

To sum up, we'll definately go back to Rhodes but will go nowhere near the Blue Bay due to its other, less mannered guests.....so thanks for ruining what could have been a lovely holiday german folk, remind me to return the favour sometime!

Jackie, Mick, Sam, Calum and Harvey have just returned from Blue Bay.

We had a great holiday, my only moan is the awful lager, I was dying for a pint when I got back!!!

The hotel is lovely, very clean, very nice and the staff are helpful. It got a bit like a school ground in the restaurant as a lot of people have no manners and just push and shove but I could live with that!! The food was great, wonderful choice and something for everyone. My only other gripe about restaurant was the lack of tables for more than 5 people and the amount of rude people who used the large tables when there was only actually 3 0r 4 of them!!!

Pools were excellent, slides were brill....it is ideal for both kids and adults.

Would go back to this hotel!!!!

What a fantastic holiday.

When we arrived it was about 6pm and the hotel was spotless. We got to our room and it was clean and cold (thanks to the air con!). The fridge was stocked with cold soft drinks for us which was just what we needed.

There are a few pools - we stayed by the quieter one as we had small children - the main pool is good for teenagers but not young children. The pools are checked everyday and are cleaned often - we did not have to worry once about the pools.

There are plenty of sunbeds and yes, you do have to get up early to put your towels down - but all of us did it, not just the Germans. More and more sunbeds were being delivered during our stay so nobody was without one when they needed it.

The people we met on holiday were great - there is obviously the odd person who acts like an idiot, but there's no specific nationality - we made friends with people from around Europe and everyone looks out for each other and each other's kids. The hotel is extremely safe and we found everyone to be friendly and helpful and they all loved kids.

The food is a good variety - and why would you go on holiday to give your children chicken nuggets? Our kids tried all the food and didn't eat the kids meals once - so it is down to what you chose to give your kids to eat. There's lots of food to chose from, and we didn't have one dodgy meal - it's all freshly cooked and there's lots of it. My only complaint is that I've put on weight!

The free drinks is a marvel - the kids didn't pester us once for a drink as they could go and get it themselves. They could also go and get an ice cream whenever they wanted. Snacks are on hand in the morning and afternoon and if you go to the sister hotel next door you can make yourself a toastie sandwich which can cure any hangover!

The water park is good - we got 12 free days to go there and it was worth it. Although the children have to be over 7 to go on some of the big slides, there is plenty for the under 7's - there's a pirate ship with little slides and tunnel and my 2 and 4 yr old loved it.

But the best thing of the entire holiday was the entertainment. My kids (the 4 and 6 yr old) went in the kids club every day and loved the staff and the activities they did were brilliant. We all joined in the evening 'mini-disco' and loved it. The adult entertainment was good also. You have to join in and realise you're on holiday and can act like a plum if you want to. All the kids run to Billy when they see him as he is brilliant with them (and the parents!). A massive thank you to the entertainment staff, Billy, Babou, Reka (kids club queen!), Magda (gymnastique!), Jo-Jo, Valentina, Susie and the rest of them - the list could go on - they really are brilliant and work exceedingly hard all day and night to give you a good holiday.

We are definitely going back - my kids would be heart-broken if we didn't and I would be as well - it is an excellent place to go if you join in and have fun.

This hotel was nice and clean but there were a few areas we were unhappy with. The entertainment is not great although the animation team did try their best. The main bar area is for paying guests only therefore if you are there all inclusive you have to go to another bar nearer the beach to get your drinks, this was a total pain. This hotel charges for using the sunbeds around the pool so be prepared as its 3 euros per bed. The food is not great and luke warm the majority of the time and snacks are practically non existant. We used the waterpark the majority of the time a) it doesn't open until 10.30 therefore you can get a long lie and b) there are plenty of sunbeds and you don't have to pay for them (entrance to the waterpark is normally 15 euros per adult and 10 euros for kids however because we were in the hotel it was 10 euros per adult and 5 euros for kids). As part of our holiday package we had a 12 days pass for the waterpark and didn't realise until we tried to gain entrance the first time. There aren't an awful lot of restaurants etc around about the hotel but there was a restaurant about 400 yards to the right of the hotel which served great pizzas and a pub to the left of the hotel. The pub has internet access @ 1.5 euros for 1/2 hour whereas the hotel charges 4.5 euros per half hour. The wine is not very nice and neither is the beer. The receptionists are quite nippy especially when you're asking for change for the snooker tables. Safety deposit boxes are 35 euros and you do not get a refund once you hand the key in

The Good Points

Very nice view and quite a clean place and animation team were quite good which made a change and did try and involve everyone but at the start they did not really do much for the kids but after someone had a fall out with them and the hotel manager was spoken to they started to do more things for the kids as well.

Bad Points
Shower was broken when we first got to the hotel and took 3 days to repair also my girlfriends parents bin was full of rubbish in there room when they first got in it.

The 3 swimming pools at the hotel were not upto much either poor and very basic.

The food never changed one bit hardly. But I know all inclusive get abit like that but at least at some places we have stopped at on all inclusive did change from time to time.

Also did not like the fact that we had to queue up at nearly every meal times.

OHHHH and apart from having to set your alarm for 6 o'clock in the morning to beat the ignorant Germans to the sun beds it was not to bad. And thought 18 euros for the Greek night was abit of a rip off.

Very nice hotel. Food was a bit boring though and would have liked to have seen more choices of food as was basically same every night.

Did not like to have to queue for drinks as this was time consuming.

Entertainment was really good on Fridays but really poor, or shall I say non existant on other days but really good during the days around the pool.

This is our third visit over the years to the Blue Bay hotel, our room was excellent clean and very spacious with wonderfull sea and pool view.

The resturant had been rennovated since our last visit the food and surroundings were much better although the childrens menu could have been a little more varied.

The location of the hotel is wonderful ie being almost on the beach.

The bar staff Costas, Jacob and others were wonderfull to us and our children.

As for the animation team Billy, Jimmy , Lenka, Lolita, Pino were brilliant they really make your holiday , trying to get everyone involved if they want to during the day and at nightime. Our children loved the daytime activities.

This is really the perfect holiday for us as some of us like to just relax beside the pool whereas others like to get involved in every activity possible. So everyone is happy.

I travelled to this hotel not knowing much about it at all, and when I got there I was worried by the fact there were not many English families there at all. However, a couple of days into the holiday and by the time we relaxed we started to enjoy the company of all nationalities.

Everyone was kind and friendly. The animation team were brilliant they made my holiday they had time for everyone and catered to the nationality of 4 different countries.

At first me and my family were reluctant to join in with entertainment and activities but with a little encouragement from the animation team became famous faces around the hotel. Tthe animation team helped us relax and enjoy our holiday. They were amazing.

The only complaint I have about the holiday was the food. There was an ok selection if you liked chips every night of the week and you very rarely got your food piping hot but the resttaraunt staff were also excellent. No job was to much for them. They had alot of manners.

The location of the hotel was really isolated but it didn't matter as you had enough things to do in the hotel to keep you occupied I was very sad to go home I even shed a tear. I would like to thank staff who really stood out to make our holiday as memorable as it was (Mikallis(pool bar)Costa(taverna)Billy, Baboo, Nemo, Pino and Rosie(animation team).

Just got back from Blue Bay with my girlfriend and daughter.

We stopped all inclusive and if your not picky and open minded the food is spot on lots of choice apart from the kids meal where its either chips and nuggets or chips and fish fingers but my daughter will eat anything (just like her dad) so she was happy.

The location is spot on for families as its away from the noisy bars and clubs yet only a taxi ride away from all other attractions like Rhodes town and lindos (we highly recommend old Rhodes town)

The beach is shingle so take sea shoes once in the sea its very warm (unlike the pools in the hotel) and very salty if like us you get a room over looking the sea its a beautiful view every morning looking over the resort and the beach and pools.

Now lets get to the entertainment the animation team are excellent Billy and Jimmy are the 2 funniest guys I've ever met and there like it 24/7 there’s a kids disco everynite till ten which our daughter loved and they get adults involved as well. Then there’s adult entertainment from ten caberet, sketch show, kareoke ect every Tuesday there’s the Greek night which you have to pay if you want to see about 18 euros but is well worth the money. You will see Billy in a different light after seeing the show

Overall we had a excellent holiday and the only problem I had with the hotel was the German guests stopping there they were ignorant nasty people one of them told me and my girlfriend we should be shot (I would have reacted but didn’t fancy a night in a Greek jail)so my advice to anyone who is thinking of booking Blue Bay I'd say its not for couples or young guys and gals on the pull but if like me you have a family and want the kids to be entertained and want good a laugh yourself the Blue Bay is for you.

Spent a fortnight at Blue Bay and it was the worst holiday of our lives.

The main pool was 8 foot deep and not clean, a poor little English boy actually drowned while we were there, after this accident they put up notices about no lifeguards on duty.

The food was so bad we actually stopped going to the restaurant and bought our own food. The restaurant also was full of flies and they were crawling all over the food and plates. Example of a dessert was a chopped up banana that had sat there for hours it had turned dark brown, and who chops up bananas!

The entertainment team tried for the Germans and not the English.

The kids club only had 1 child in it and it was mine, when I went to check on her, the supposed entertainer was ironing her uniforms, and my daughter was colouring a mickey mouse picture, she was nine not four!

The only bar actually in the hotel itself was a pay bar for the all inclusive drinks you had to walk to the bar near the beach.

The pools were really cold and you could not see your feet in the shallow end because they were that dirty. So bad in fact my husband caught an ear infection from the dirty water.

The entertainment was the same every night with the same people doing it and at times it was quite rude. No outside acts were brought into the hotel. There were so few English people at the hotel some nights the commentary was done in every language except English.

Travelled with First Choice spent £2,500 and came home with husband having ear infection and chest infection, also oldest daughter had same and I had pneumonia which took 2 months to recover from.

Just got back from two fantastic weeks. We went with our friends Ken, Marie, Nick & Alex. None of us wanted to leave we all had a brilliant time.

The location of this hotel was great only fifteen minutes from the airport. Beware planes going overhead most of the day, it didn't bother us though you got used to it, don't let it put you off.

The hotel was very spacious and of a high standard. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, we liked the fact that the boys had a seperate sleeping area. Towels were changed every day except Sunday, the room was always cleaned even if you had a lie in which we did quite often. The hotel itself was very clean.

The food at this hotel was excellent... There was a different choice every day. There was always something for the children. Snack bar could have been a bit more varied though. The drinks were great as much as you liked.

The hotel staff were friendly enough and did speak good english. Barmen were very nice always had time to say hello. Waiters were nice and worked very hard.

I thought I would leave the best til last... the entertainment team, they were absolutely brilliant. They made our holiday especially Billy, Jimmy Matt and Lenka. There was entertainment all day and they did their own shows at night. Most of the time this included audience participation, but only if you wanted to, which we did. Got to do the Greek night saw Billy in a different light. Food was fantastic.

We all had a fantastic time here and would all definately go back, and would like to thank Billy, Jimmy, Matt, Lenka and all the other staff for making our holiday an unforgettable one. xxxxx

We had a great holiday at this hotel our only complaint was our room. It was one of the rooms outside the main hotel and certainly not what we expected. If we were to go here again I would insist on a room within the hotel as they seem to be of better standard.

The food here was excellent, plenty of choice each day and plenty of everything,we really enjoyed it. Each night there was great entertainment for all ages.

My only advice to anyone booking here is to check which type of room you are being allocated, once you have done this you will have a great hoilday!

We travelled to this hotel in anticipation after reading the reports on the web. We were pleasantly surprised.

The hotel could not have been cleaner.

The food was great, never once did we have to go out and buy food.

The location suited us down to the ground. We were one of a few hotels in a quiet area, it was fantastic.

Hotel staff were both friendly and helpful.

Entertainment was fantastic. The animation team work very hard to make sure every body has fun and they manage to do so terrifically.

We have just returned from this resort. Basically Blue Bay is a complex of hotels, including from what we could make out, two others on site. Our room was a family room on the third floor. We had a separate bedroom and the children had sofa beds. Two balconies with a spectacular sea view and a decent bathroom. There's a fridge and hairdryer and air conditioning though the latter only operates part time. Electricity is powered by putting your key fob in a slot inside the door but a piece of cardboard can be left in there all day if like us you take battery chargers which need to be left on during the day. Cleaners came daily, apart from Sunday, but the bins were emptied even on Sunday. Always plenty of clean towels and bedding.

We were with First Choice and I believe this is their first year with the hotel so we may have had a better room because of that, if the hotel are keen to have First Choice's business.

First Choice did say there was a laundry room - they lied, there isn't, so take enough clothes for a fortnight. There is nowhere to dry clothes other than the railings over the balcony and it's a breezy resort so you could lose stuff! The breeze was good - we went to Lindos on a very hot day and it was stifling, so we really appreciated the breeze when we got back to the west of the island.

The hotel is nearer Kremasti than Ialyssos. A cab to Rhodes costs 9 euros. The bus is 1.70 adult, 1.20 child. There are some buses that go direct from the hotel, otherwise a short walk to the main road will find you at a bus stop where they run every 15-20 minutes or so. We found the cabs the best form of transport for all four of us though. For boat trips, walk along the harbour and book (be prepared to haggle) rather than use the tour operators tours, you'll save megabucks. Lindos cost us 45 euros by boat plus 18 euros cab fare, totalling 63 euros whereas First Choice wanted 93 euros.

Food was basic and not tremendously varied over the fortnight but there was plenty of it and enough choice for there to always be something even for my two fussy brats. Booze and soft drinks and ice cream were available as stated, also water which you can fill your bottles with, though bottled water is much cheaper (around 30 - 60 cents for a 500ml bottle) than it is here in the UK.

We used two of the available pools, also a third pool adjacent to the hotel which it turned out we weren't meant to use (whoops) and we were turfed out of. We bought lilos as we'd been forewarned that they charged for sunbeds, but towards the end of the holiday we used the sunbeds and were not asked for any money. The hotel also owns a small water park opposite the main hotel where we stayed. It's quite pricey, 18 euros adults, and 9 euros for children, which given that you can go to a huge one at Faliraki and pay 20 euros and 15 respectively, seems a bit daft. But it is on the doorstep so... it opened while we were there, and they may reduce the prices, given that it wasn't getting much custom.

I would be happy to return there, but doubt if I will, personally I prefer Turkey and find the people friendlier and things generally cheaper - at least until they too join the EU - but otherwise it was a good holiday. You are on the flightpath for incoming aircraft but it really wasn't a problem - the planes are low and quite noisy but they didn't wake us at night even when we had the patio doors open. The entertainment staff were excellent and worked really hard. All in all an excellent family holiday.

This holiday is exactly what we both needed, after reading some very negative reports on the hotel we was wondering what we would end up in!!

On arrival the hotel staff were so helpful.

The room was exactly what we wanted very nice views from all angles.

I must say that the restaurant food was of a very particular taste. The Greek night which is held on a Tuesday night and that is highly recommended. Billy was remarkable very very good entertainment.

The staff on a whole were very good, Nicko's (pool bar) Mickos (cocktail bar) Catalina (cocktail bar) Billy and all the entertainment were so great and definitely know how to make a warm welcoming atmosphere!!

This holiday was great recommended to families and couples that are looking for a chilled out relaxing holiday needless to say enjoyable holiday.

Stayed in Sunland hotel sister hotel of Blue Bay Hotel.

Food in hotel very basic with not much variety and not hot. Eat at Blue Bay at least you will get hot meal. We stayed on ground floor so had quite a few insects and quite a lot of guests had horrible bites including our party. Drinks very basic and had to buy ours from supermarket.

Hotel is out in the sticks so if you wanted to see shops or sights you had to travel by bus or taxi. Staff in general were very friendly but cleaning could have been better.

The entertainment team put a lot of effort into their shows but there is no outside performers brought in. Parental discretion is advised. The greek night is a must and shows Billie in a new light.

If it had'nt been for the weather it could have been quite a bad week would not go back.

What can I say? This was the most fantastic holiday ever!

The rooms are very basic - ours was bed, mirror, balcony with chairs and bathroom. (We were supossed to be in a better room but that was the fault of the holiday company not the hotel).

The view however, was fantastic, overlooking the sea with a view of the Turkish coastline. The maids were in every day, changing the towels and sheets, they were also lovely natured.

The food wasnt bad, I'll admit room for improvement, but it was nice with a variety of different diet needs and plenty of it. The drinks are locally produced but still lovely - I couldnt complain and i'm a fussy eater!

Location wise it is a bit out of the way in a quite area. There is a little village about 15 minutes walk down the beach which we loved and did nearly every day but if you're a person who likes nightlife then maybe it would be a bit quite, perfect for us though.

The staff were wonderful, extremely helpful and pleasent. The Animation team (entertainment) were amazing! So friendly and funny, the night entertainments was fabulous and the Tuesday Greek night is definately worth going to! The other shows were fantastic too providing for both families and the older ones of us. The animation staff themselves were lovely, Moo-moo, Nemo, Baboo and Billie were absoutely hilarious. I dont think i'll ever forget them (porbaby not as Im going back in October)! On there breaks and will talk to you at the bar, always ask how you are and live next to the hotel supermarket. (The hotel has 2 shops) But I cannot emphasize how much we thought the animation team were brill! With the activities during the day and the night entertainment it was fabulous. I won 2 x Bottles of Champagne and 50 Euro on the bingo!

There is aircraft noise and the planes do fly low but it is amazing to watch them and you sort of get used to them - I loved it! Guessing which one was coming next!

You do have to pay for sun lounges €2.50 a day but buy a lilo from the shop and you wont be charged!

I would definatly go back to this hotel tomorrow no questions asked, it was geat and I had a week of fun, fun, fun!

Our hotel room had been recently refurbished and was very nice. The room was clean and we had clean towels every day and bed linen changed at least twice during our week long stay. The hotels staff were very helpful especially the young lady with the short dark hair at reception. The cleaning ladies were very nice and helpful. The staff in the dining room were very efficient and cheerful.

As far as we are concerned the only down side to this hotel was the food. There was always something we could eat, however, the choice and presentation could be improved upon. The all day snacks were very poor, sandwiches with ham and cheese, cucumber, tomato, on ocassion pastry or pizza but only if you were quick. The afternoon tea was ok but the choice for cake was again very poor. we arrived at the beggining of the season and there were a few improvements as the week progressed.

This hotel appears to be undergoing a major refurbishment and the rooms on the top couple of floors seem to have been done. Not too sure about the rest of the hotel. The pool area is nice but the outside snack bar was still not operational when we left.

We cannot comment on the entertainment as we are not "late birds". There were a great many children at this hotel, so if you like a quiet time mabey this hotel is not for you.

All in all the price we paid reflects the quality of the holiday, You only get what you pay for and in this case it was true.

Beware of All inclusive drinks.... Only Vodka, Rum, Gin, Lager, Ouzo & Barcardi available. Previous All inclusive holiday have given us a much wider selection.

I don't drink fizzy drinks so finding a mixer was hard. The Orange Juice tasted awful - not like juice at all! You could only get bottled water between 10am and 6pm in a plastic cup. After that it was fizzy drinks or tap water! No fridge in room so you couldn't even buy water from the shop.

The hotel was very clean and our room was cleaned every day with clean sheets, towels etc - Thanks to the great maid.

I would visit Rhodes again but not this hotel. Entertainment was same each night. No live music no illusion shows no external entertainment at all. Just the same people jumping round on stage!

The male entertainers were too friendly and get a bit too friendly with a lot of guests - if you know what I mean! They want to get themselves down a clinic to get checked out!

We paid for our own drinks most of the week due to the dislike of the choice at the bar. Its a shame becuase the hotel itself and the location had so much potential to be great. Them penny pinching will get this hotel a bad name. Pools etc very nice.

Germans were very rude - not all of them but the majority of them went out of their way to be rude.

Maybe they should consider getting some decent soft drinks (juices) and having a wider selection of spirits.

Best holiday ever.

The animation team were fantastic and got everyone around the pool involved in sports, games and keep fit which meant we socialised with people we may never have spoken to otherwise.

Although the hotel was a little dated, it was clean and all the amenities were there. The food in the Blue Bay was edible but quite repetative however, we were allowed to use the facilities in the hotel around the corner called Sunland where the food was alot nicer and with a bit more choice.

The low flying aircraft was not as much of a problem as other reports had made out and did not, in no way cause us any distress during our stay at this hotel.

If you are a beach lover, this one aint for you as the beach is pebbles although the view from the bottom bar from the terrace overlooking the sea was lush, enjoyed a few beers down there on many occasion.

I personally found the German guests to be ill mannered and extremely rude, I never once heard them say please or thankyou for the good service received at the hotel.

Overall, we had a fab holiday and are keen to go again for a cheap break next year. It was well worth the money even for the drink alone.

Hello to everyone who met Rod and Lynda on the poolside (although Rod propped up Georges bar most of the time)!!

Big thanks to Billy and the rest of the animation team who participated in us having a brill time.

We chose this hotel because of the reviews from others on the internet. It was an excellent holiday, enjoyed by all 4 of us.
We booked 6 weeks prior and paid £330 for 1 week all inc. I must admit it was worth every penny.
The hotel staff are without fault.George the JMC rep was lovely and a great help, we didnt book with JMC.
The entertainment team are the best i've ever seen, Billy, Sam and Penu made everyones holiday special.
They get everyone joining in and give you pet names, the Tunisian evening was not to be missed, it was on tuesday and they charged about £18 a ticket. This might seem out of order when you have paid for all inc entertainment but its a treat. My husband was chosed to go on stage and all the guests were amazed at what happened, it was unbelieveable, i wont spoil the surprise........DONT miss it! Daytime activitied were hilarious.
Our rooms were on the third floor, perfect view of the pool and sea. Rooms were spotlessly clean but very dated, need extra pillows, just ask. My husband took some sort of ant/cockroach powder because he was paranoid, he put it on the balcony every day and every day it was cleaned up by the cleaners (poor ladies, they never complained)they folded our clothes into fan shaped designs. One cockroach found all week in hallway.
Hotel furnature overall was old but comfy even in reception. Two lifts, worked ok.
Food, bit of a let down but nobody lost weight! We were having such a good time it didnt bother us that there wasnt much choice. We drank mainly beer, vodka and rum, mixing them with lemonade. There is an indoor bar, you have to pay for drinks here, we didnt need as all the entertainment was at the outside pool bar.
Afternoon snacks are mainly cheese pasties and pizza, evening time its bread rolls with ham and cheese, we pinched butter from the dining room to spread on later as theyr'e very dry!
We are hoping to go back here next year, all the guests became friends due to the good atmosphere, hi Nicole & Grant, Leo & Sue.
Although we didnt take any kids we saw plenty of little smiling faces all dressed up as indians and different things. There was the usual kids disco upto to 9.30 then adult comedy/sketches.

We visited this hotel for a quiet week away!

Well, it’s in a quiet location, at least. I put 5 for the location, as I wanted a quiet place, and that’s what I got, apart from the planes, but you get use to them.

The animators were great, a big thanks to Billy, Sam and Pino for making our week away great. There was always something to do around the pool, volleyball, polo, aerobics, darts and French boulles. At night, just seeing the weird smile of Billy made everybody crease up, and the bingo with Sam, well, his big fat lady with a big donkey plonker, 81 by the way, creased everybody!!! At times the entertainment was going downhill, but the managed to pull it out of the bag, and make it a good night.

The hotel rooms were basic, but kept clean everyday. You get what you pay for, and it’s not a fortune for this place.

The food was different every night, but basically the same. Hard to explain that, but anybody who has been will know what I mean. The food at the other bit of the hotel is better, or so I was told on my last day!! My only problem with the refreshments, was the plastic drinking beakers, they were chewed around the rim. Take your own pint glass, if you've got one.

We met loads of English, Scots and Welsh, who were all very friendly and made you feel welcome. There were quite a few Germans, who were rude, but do like me, ignore them or be rude back. They did not spoil my holiday in any way.

Now the rep!! She told me to say she was a hard working Scouser (or something like that!!) I'll keep you guessing on that one. Cheers Nikki

Anyway, overall great holiday. Checking prices for next year already

Upon arrival to the hotel we were told by the male receptionist that we would be spending the week at the new section of Blue Bay hotel. This hotel was located approximately 100 metres from the main Blue Bay hotel, this was actually a lie as the hotel was not connected with the blue bay in any way and was self catering.(overbooked i suspect!)

The standard of food at the main hotel is poor, but if you travel to the blue bay sunlounge hotel the food is above average.

Never eat in the main blue bay building resturant!

We met a few english guests who were staying at the main blue bay building, all of which had requested a move to an alternative hotel via there holiday reps, only 1 was sucessful!

If your idea of entertainment is to see grown men dressed up as woman and babie's with nappies on. Then you will be at home here, if not as myself you will leave taking your children in a hurry to your hotel room as the daily evening entertainment is constantly of the animation team dressing up as the opposite sex.

On my visit there were a lot of Germen and Dutch people who i found generally to be rude to both staff and patrons alike.

I would not recommend this Hotel to anybody with impressionable kids.

The constant barrage of airplanes flying overhead make you appreciate the quiet when you arrive home. That is unless you leave in Heathrow Airport.

When we got to the resort we were told it was over booked and we would be staying in a different hotel! I think we had the better deal but we did not hear any complaints from the people staying there, only about having to pay for sun beds, we did not have to pay for ours in the hotel we were put in. (we only used the hotel we were put in as a base we came to the main hotel for all our food and drink).

The parts of the hotel we did see were very well kept and clean.(apart from the toilets along the corridor leading to the disco take a peg with you if you use them)!
The food was fine always something to eat in the main restaurant and at the snack bar, you will not go hungry! Always lots of choice maybe not for children though unless they like chips which are available all the time.

You do get alot of aircraft going over but this did not bother us at all we just had a stiff neck at the end of the week because we were watching them all go over!

All the hotel staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful, the entertainment was very funny could become a bit repetative though. The animation team tried really hard and impressed us with their ability to speak in so many different languages so no-one felt as if they were not being included. Even though our children were not with us we got involved in the childrens section of the evening - we even bought the CD at the end of the week! We also watched them during the day and thought they were very good.

We did not go to the Greek Night but would of done if we had taken the children just for the experience.
We want to go away next year for two weeks with our children and we would not rule this hotel out.

If you are a beach lover go elsewhere not very good very pebbly and not to clean we just spent most days around the pool area which was very clean. The entertainment was very german orientated did not try to cater for english people at all whilst we were there i woould say there was about 4 families who were english the rest were dutch or german (oh and by the way they were very very rude to all the english guests i spoke to).
The hotel although very old fashioned and in need of total refurbishment was spotless as was our rooms towels changed everyday bedding every other day and maid service was everyday also.

I dont think we would go back to this acommodation again.

For a 3* hotel we didnt really expect to share our bathroom with a colony of ants! When we emptied the bath or the sink the water would come back up a drain in the floor. It smelled quite bad and had horrible greeny brown tiles! The view from our balcony was of the hotel across the road. And every morning the rubbish trucks were being loaded and beer deliverys were directly below us making one hell of a racket! The room was very basic, however, we did have air con which was greatly appreciated!

I think the rooms on the higher floors were much better because other people we spoke to at the resort had no complaints so watch out for the ground floor rooms tucked behind reception! Bad news.

The food was fantastic i must admit! what a great selection! Something for everyone!

Apart from our room, the rest of the hotel was lovely yet a bit dated and also very clean.

Blue Bay is brilliant! We had the best time ever..we really did. The hotel cleanliness was brilliant, we had clean towels & bed linen every day, all the staff were happy & friendly especially Andres who was our favourite manager!!! We are really missing all the animators already and we have only been back a day, a big thanx to Sammy, Jimmy, Mikey, Chico & Terri. You really made our holiday. There was always something going on. There was no need to leave the complex everything you needed was right there. Although we have lived pretty much on chips for the past fortnight the food really asn't all that bad, there was always something even for the fussiest of eaters. The entertainment was excellent and the disco was wicked. We would go back tomorrow if we could.

The hotel is basic, but clean and safe, with the rooms being cleaned every day, with a change of bed linen.

You do have airplanes flying overhead, as you are close to the airport, but they seem to have set times during the day that they appear (on some days there are hardly any)plus you tend to ignore them after a while.

The food was very good, but I would imagine a little boring for children. I was more that happy myself and I particularly enjoyed the live cooking station every evening.

The staff were pleasant and the entertainment team were fantastic. I think they were trying their hardest to make up for the aircraft noise and some of the team members seemed to have limitless energy and enthusiasm. Plenty of activities during the day and the evening's entertainment was enjoyable but maybe a little "risque". Parental control is a must! Billy and his team were terrific.

Would definately go again.

The beach is poor, as the sand is very course. But the pool area with bar is excellent, they have sport activities going all day and everone can join in.

The food is good if your not a fussy eater, there is loads to choose from. We got put in the new block of rooms away from the main hotel, this was much better than the old main building, and we had our own pool.

We had a great holiday I would recommend it to anyone. DAZ

The all inclusive aspect of the holiday was desirable as i was travelling with some friends who like to drink! but with regard to the food, we ended up eating out towards the end of the week as we had simply had enough of the food at the hotel. None of us are particularly fussy eaters, but food was being recycled from meal to meal, not a problem as such going from lunch to evening, but when it was spanning more than one day it became an issue.

The hotel was clean, although not much effort was made to cleans the rooms thoroughly. Towels were changed daily, and linen every other day.

the location of the hotel is a little isolated, there are a few tavernas, and a shop within walking distance, but not much else.

Staff were pleasant, reps seemed friendly but we didnt stay to watch the evening entertainment, the few snippets we saw could have been misconstrued as innappropriate to those with families (i have a young daughter who, on this occasion didnt travel with me)and i would have been a little unhappy with her seeing some of this.

i wouldnt visit this hotel again, there are many other places in the world i would rather go to first.

The water park in falaraki was good for a day out, plenty of things to keep everyone entertained.

If staying at this hotel i would recommend care hire as rhodes is a beautiful asland with a lot more to offer than just this hotel.

Watch where you buy a holiday to this hotel from, it seems to have different ratings all over. We booked it as a 4 star hotel, when infact the rating 1s 2 star. Medhotels has it as a 3 star! it, to me would rate about a 2 1/2!

I couldn't fault this place at all. My 5 yr old son and myself have just come back from a wonderful weeks holiday. Our room was cleaned every day, the hotel staff were polite and efficient and the entertainment team (The Animators) were fantastic. They kept us entertained all day around the pool with aqua aerobics, water volleyball etc and then hosted the childrens disco come the evening followed by adult entertainment. The meals were buffet style anbd I enjoyed it all. My only niggle would maybe be that there wasnt a huge choice for children eg. sausages or maybe pizza. There is aircraft noise but we didnt find it a problem and the beach is shingle but we stayed round the pool. Thoroughly enjoyed it and wiil hopefully return later in the year.

we were all inclusive and thought that the variety of food choice could be made alot better, as you got the same things day in day out. the cleaners were friendly and clean towels were provided everday.
however perhaps the carpets should go as they were quite groggy and no amount of hoovering, i doubt, could restore them.
the location of the hotel was amazing, you could see the turkish coastline and the views from the rooms were breath taking.
The hotel staff were helpfull and very pleasant, they always had a smile on their faces, which made me feel very welcome.
I would like to say the entertainment was hilarious, absolutley wicked. The team were brilliant and kept everyone entertained morning till night. there was also a disco for over sixteens when we were there and this added greatly to our holiday, especially for the teenagers we had with us. It was great for them to the mega max.
I would like to say good luck to ashley, whom i met last year, and who has now become a member of the animation team. The holiday overall was fantastic and i wouldnt have any hesitations about returning there in the future.
