Wonderful location with a view to die for.
All staff very friendly and very encouraging of our 3 &4 year olds attempts at Spanish.
Entertainment was excellent and Bart and Lyn were fantastic with the children
Only one minor thing the floor around the pool is painted green there is a small raised area on which stands a lamp post, this along with the curb stones is also painted green both my wife and I tripped over it (sober) and our eldest daughter tripped splitting her lip and bruising her face. (If the curb stones were painted a contrasting colour this problem would be eliminated)

| said: Excellent hotel in a brilliant location. It looked a little disappointing on getting off the coach due to the location of reception (between two shop fronts), but once inside it was very clean and well presented. Check in was quick and smooth, the apartment was small but very functional.
Self catering facilities were ok, we found we had rusty cutlery, told the rep and there was new cutlery in the apartment within a few hours.
Colleen the Cosmos rep always seemed to be around, so getting any problems sorted was very easy. This was a godsend as my youngest split open his top lip on the pool edge and required a trip to Palma Hospital for stitches. We realised whilst my wife was at Palma Hospital that we had no documentation for travel insurance, Colleen contacted the Cosmos office and sorted it all out immediately. We had to cancel the Western Waterpark trip due to Alex's lip, and even caught Colleen trying to post a note under our door telling us when she would be available (she was posting this at 12:15 am on her day off).
Many thanks for the help from all the families that rushed to our aid after Alex split his lip open, especially to Sharon and John, the man with the tribal tattoos (sorry, never got your name), the couple from Swindon and Tek, Kerry and their party.
Bart and Lyn were fantastic, and I get the feeling that Lyn gets some unfair comments on her involvement in the entertainment. Both of them are great and 10 out of 10 to Lyn on her Hit Parade Mix evening, 70 odd sketches in about an hour, nice going.
The Brittania Pub never really caused us any problems, noise rarely went on much beyond 12 o'clock. The restaurants locally were excellent especially the El Baron, very entertaining waiters.
I really can't understand the bad reviews for this hotel, as all in all it is excellent value for money and is in very pleasant surroundings, not many hotels can offer such cleanliness and excellent sea views.
10 out of 10 for the Sa Coma Platja, even if the pool could be made a little more safe for the children (rough edge to the pool, too much deep water and the slope from the shallow end could be made less slippery).
Many thanks to Colleen from Cosmos and Bart and Lyn for entertaining us.
Sharon and Faye if you would like a copy of the kids group photo taken at the airport please email me at steve.wicks@upm.co.uk and I will email it to you.
It's a shame that next year it will become a German all inclusive hotel, we would have definitely returned otherwise.

| said: Just returned from a really great stay at the Sa Coma Platja. A really great hotel set in a smashing location on a beautiful beach and the main stretch of town.
The kitchen facilities were basic consisting of a microwave and 2 electric hobs - one of which did not work, but it is reasonable to eat out.
Sunbeds do tend to be reserved very early (by 8am)peak season as there is a very large amount of broken beds so set those alarms!! The main pool dips deep very quickly and can be a little slippery so a little dangerous for toddlers.
Only other thing to watch is that the air conditioning gets turned off around 12.30 each night so can get very hot.
As for the noise levels mentioned in previous postings - it is noisy in the front bedroom but calms down around 12.00.
I would definitely return to this hotel.

All of the staff were kind and friendly and helpful and the entertainers (Bart and Linq) were excellent - we always came back to see the entertainment each night.
The resort is quite lively until midnight then it shuts down. The location is excellent - beach and pool just outside room. Pool a bit deep so take care!
The hotel was billed as a family hotel and that is exactly what it was! Thank you for a great holiday.
A pity that Cosmos will not be able to use this hotel in the future. Happy memories.

Our apartment [314] was straight opposite the Brittania pub and we never heard any thing after 12.15am even the hotel music stopped at midnight.
The room we had was clean and tidy with a view to die for. Yes the facilities in the apartment were basic but the air con worked great, the pool and surrounding area was cleaned every morning and had plenty of sun loungers.
Its a pity Cosmos have lost this hotel for 2006 so be warned if you book it will be full of Germans. There was aerobics every morning with differnt activites in the afternoon so join in and enjoy.

| said: The accommodation was basic with a two ring hob, microwave oven and a fridge. The beds were okay but who cares as you are completely tired when you crash out.
The view from your balcony was out of this world, over looking the pool then over the sea. Absolutely beautiful.
During the day, the entertainment program is as follows:
1100 Acro-aerobics in the pool
1230 Bart chucks kids in the pool
1500 Water polo
1600 Rifle shooting/archery or killer pool
2030 Koko loco disco (a kids type disco with either Bart or Jody)
2130 Silly adult games (funny) (I was cheated in the Mr. Election, one of the judges was one of the contestants sister. It's not that I am bitter and twisted it's just that I think I had better legs than the winner and if Jody is reading this, some of those hairs on the wig you had to wear during your show were not there before I had to wear it (not on my head))
2200 Entertainment from either an out side professional or an in house show from Bart or Jody
Bart and Jody work hard for there money and provide excellent entertainment. Kids will love Bart as they love being chucked as well as chucking him in the pool. Jody is not quite big enough for this task.
Local surrounding area:
Next to a horse farm (smells just a little bit, but not over powering)
Lots of Spar supermarkets and local shops.
Lots of good places to eat. Our favourite was the “British Baron” Do not eat at the "Kings Head” the food was horrible.
Please note this is not an area for young adults who want to go out on the lash all the time, it is a family friendly resort.
The Cosmos Reps are nearly always available and helpful at all times.
The only bad point about the hotel is that with it being so close to the sea, too many of the locals like to wash the sand off themselves by having a quick dip in the hotel swimming pool. Unfortunately the swimming pool attendant leaves at about 1500 just before the locals appear.
Overall, we will go back to this hotel as we loved the view, the entertainment, the staff were friendly, it was always clean.

| said: We stayed at sa Coma Platja 4th - 11th june 05.
We have mixed feelings about the hotel. On it's plus points, it is well situated - probably best in the whole resort with beautiful views (if you are on a high floor) The public areas are clean and well kept. The staff are polite and helpful. It is close to shops supermarkets and places to eat. The beach is on the doorstep and no busy roads to cross.
On its minus points, Our room was disappointing. The bedrooms in the appartments overlook the main street, and at night there is a lot of noise, mainly from the Brittania pub. Our room was directly opposite the pub, and if you wanted to get to sleep before 1am it was pretty hopeless, even with all windows shut, however we did enjoy some of the bands whilst lying in bed, particularly the Beatles tribute on Friday night! It was just as if they were playing in our room.....
The appartment was clean, except for the Bathroom which was not very pleasant. The toilet bowl was stained, the enamel was completely worn off the base of the bath, which meant that it was impossible for the bath to have been cleaned properly. If we had seen the bath before we had unpacked and settled in we would have asked to be moved, but the shower curtain had been conveniently pulled across the bath.
Room service is three times a week, which is what is stated in the brochure, however bear in mind that one of these days is the day of arrival when the room is prepared for you, so your towels are only changed twice during your stay, and one of our days was the day prior to departure.
There was not any provision for even putting your towels outside the door to have them replaced. Other than that what room service we did receive was of good standard.
This is a good hotel for families looking for childrens entertainment, but there was very little entertainment for adults.
There is no proper area designated to keep your cases safe after you have vacated your room. They were left in a dining area, there was no changing room, and only one shower in the reception toilet area.

| said: The Hotel position overlooking a beautiful beach and inviting sea is excellent and the view from the high floors is wonderful. However the other side of the Hotel overlooks a street of bars and restuarants and they can be nosiy up to 12.30pm - 1.00am but one night during our stay it was 3.40pm before the bar next to the Britania turned the music down. The noise does permiate the walls and closed windows. There can also be noise from children around the pool area after the entertainment has finished but reception will deal with this when reported.
To re-cap: Nice clean Hotel on beach edge but it is noisy. Even the Cockerels across the road try and outdo each other for which is the noisiest at about 4.30pm.
Entertainment is for kids mainly. Pool is clean but mainly deep and can get crowded as most people stay in small shallow section.

| said: The hotel was very clean on arrival and stayed that way throughout the whole week, the hotel food was great and well priced and pretty much catered for everyone and everything you could want on an holiday(we had a vegetarian with us and he never complained, so why could anybody else!.
The hotel is probably the best located in the resort, the entrance is on the main road and the rear is on the beach(20 metres). The reps seemed very friendly and were always there for you although our party were 3 males and we did our own thing, but they knew that and never bothered them and they did the same in return, they just did their job, remarkably well!
The same for the entertainment "the reps" kept everyone entertained during the day and the evening(not just the kids aswell, they brought out the youth in quite a few adults. All good fun! There was other entertainment as well in the evening such as "singers",but lads will be lads and we left the couples and families to it.
All in all a fantastic hotel. I will return again with either family or friends.

| said: Before going abroad to the Sa Coma Platja hotel myself and my mother were to say the least a little apprehensive about having to buy food whilst out there, how much we would need for food and how far we would have to travel for food. These worries which concerned us disappeared as soon as we arrived at the hotel as, just opposite the hotel and either side are supermarkets and convenient food stores.
Most local people e.g. shop assistants, managers, waiters and even bar staff speak exceptional English and really do put us Brits to shame when it comes to speaking another language.
Along with being concerened about our food situation we were worried also about the hotels's cleanliness and location. Again these worries soon dispersed when given the key to our room. We walked through the door and to our amazement were really very, very pleasantly surprised.
We were met by a warm and welcoming letter on the kitchen table and decided to look around the apartment which would be our home for the next week and to get aquainted with everything.
The beds had clean sheets, pillows and if needed blankets. The bed, it has to be said, was for myself slightly uncomfortable however my mother had no problem with hers so I'll leave it up to you to make your own minds up.
The kitchen, shower and living room were also exceptionally clean and again we were very pleasantly surprised. Then it was time to look out onto our balcony. "WOW" WHAT A GREEEEAAAT VIEW!!!!
Our balcony really did overlook the sea we were very pleased with our accommodation.
The location one word.................. fantastic
The Hotel staff were extremely warm, welcoming and very friendly. I could not fault the hotel staff or management.
The entertainment for children was very good and the entertainers do work very hard, all children at the resort were kept very entertained from dawn til dusk.
However for the adults I would advise you to pop to the British pub opposite the hotel for the live music and entertaining staff. They also have groups, tribute bands and for all those footie fanatics out there live football. So I would definately recommend the Britania Bar for adult entertainment. The bar closes it's doors at 1:00am to contain the music, however it can be heard slightly from the apartments having said this it did not cause or arise any problems when trying to sleep. My mother and myself were always in bed before 1:30am and were able to sleep very well.
So if asked if I would ever go back to the Sa coma Platja hotel I would have to say YES I would definately return to this hotel. I had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

The hotel was lovely and the location superb.
We were on the 6th floor which, initially, I didn't like then we stepped onto the balcony!! The view was amazing.
The hotel spotlessly clean. There was always a member of staff cleaning where ever you went in the hotel and the room was comfortable and clean too.
There are lots of places to eat around the hotel that have lovely food as well as very cheap!
Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful.
The entertainment was aimed more at families with young children but still very enjoyable. The activities round the pool during the day were great and kept my teenage son busy. Bart was brilliant with the kids and good fun. Evie joined Bart during the first week that we were there, and she was great with the kids and adults! Whatever you do, don't let Bart put a hat on your head as he will get you on stage doing daft stuff (yes, we fell for it)!!
Absolutely superb holiday, can't wait to go back!!

| said: Great self-catering accommodation. Rooms quite spacious and very clean. Kitchen area basic although great for making toast and a cuppa in the morning. Snacks in the malibu bar were nice although drinks in the hotel a little dearer than in the bars up the road. The pool was very deep but very clean. Sunbeds a little too close together and although you were not supposed to reserve them we realised by the 2nd day that this was ignored!! Staff were constantly mopping up the wet areas in reception where people came in from the pool and the staff were all polite. The location was great for the beach and the views were fantastic although it was noisy, but bearable, from the Britannia bar and some noise from the beach car park, although we did not let this bother us. Entertainment was provided in the day time and every evening and was good, although not to suit everybodys taste. We enjoyed it! There was enough to keep children and adults alike entertained and i did not hear anybody say they were bored. Well done to Bart for keeping us all amused! Would definitely go back as we had a great time. Basically it was a clean hotel, providing good entertainment in a good location with nice staff and everything to make our holiday well worth going on! (Do not worry when you pull up outside as you cannot see the hotel entrance very well. After a moments panic we were soon reassured when entering the hotel)

Cosmaos reps were also good with the kids, especially Crazy Carlo and Sian the Sheep!!. Only bd point is I had to chase the repd up everyday to find out their plans for the next day for the kids. They were busy planning their aganda for the next with with 225 new guests. But once they had the kids they were great.
The hotel IS noisy, with the noise of the Britannia Pub. You can look at 12 - 1am to get to sleep. Then you haver the cocks crowing at 6am on the open land.
Not forgetting the car racers and bike racers assembling in the beach car park next to you till all hours.
But you get use to it after a few days....:)
Thanks to Jason from Holland for keeping the kids entertained at night.

Hotel is clean and pool was clean too, great for the children.
Ideal location right by the sandy beach. BUT.....the noise at night is horrendous. We requested a top floor room away from the KARAOKE bar but still the noise came from the thomson super famiy hotel behind (Coma Gran better hotel and great entertainment) till after midnight.
Lots of noise on a Saturday night during handover and lots of noise from the road down to the beach.
One word to sum it up NOISY!!! If you are out till 1am or later and not woken easily - perfect place to stay. If you want peace and quiet and a whole nights sleep - forget it .!!!!!!

It was very clean, the staff- including the bar, reception and the life guard around the pool, were all very friendly and couldnt do enough to accomadate us and our children. The hotel is a really good location, right on the beach, there is a ranch next to the hotel, where my 2 children did pony riding, they are 5 and 2. the resort is well kept and is really clean, the beach is lovely and clean, the sea is clear, u can walk 4 miles and only be up to your knees! the entertainment was at its best really good, but sometimes a bit repetitive and ropey! all the same, the 2 entertainment staff- sam and bart, were around all day and night doing various things and were brilliant with the kids, Dont go to the shops next to the hotel for food, go round the corner to the supermarket- caprabo- much- much cheaper!!about a 5 minuite walk. theres loads of places to eat, but all pretty much the same, The kings head is a great night out and the waiters are georgeous!! Good holiday if you dont want to do too much. The hotel pool was lovely, fresh water, not salty though.

The "Satellite TV" is not up to much .. you get sky news and thats about it.
It is noisy at night, with the bar across the street full of drunks singing badly until 2 am onwards.
And you get woken up in the morning by the loud kids entertainers blaring Tubthumping and star trekkin.

| said: Hotel very clean, beach very nice, raining most of the week (was the second week in oct). Wouldn't rush back to Sa Coma its the kind of place you go if you dont want to be entertained. Brittanina bar across the road nothing to write home about, every night same thing, same food, but no where else to go.
To give Sa Coma a bit of credit would be an excellent place to stay when the weather is good (you could stay on the beach all day/night) apart from that I dont see what else you can do.

| said: The location is good, the main entrance is from a road with shops, restaurants, etc, but the other side of the hotel overlooks the beach which is straight outside the back gate. The beach gets very busy during the day, not much space to spare. The views from most of the rooms is great, except for the lower floors at the south end of the hotel where a few buildings block it. The only downside to the location was the noise. Across the street there is a karaoke bar that opens out on to the street, I think called the Brittania, which is too loud and goes on to 1 or 2 in the morning. They do shut the doors after 12, but it only muffles the noise slightly. Then the dustman come along the street at between 2 and 3 every morning, and again can be quite noisy. The hotel has air conditioning and some satelite tv, bbc news, some spanish stations, and one german too. It also has a pool, although not very big and can be a bit overcrowded.

| said: One word for the Sa Coma Platja - NOISY!!!!!!
HOTEL
We arrived at the hotel on a Saturday night and was very impressed with the location of the hotel right on the beach. The reception area was smart and clean, though I couldn't hear the receptionist due to the noise coming from the dreadful entertainment. Once entering the room about 11.30pm, which was very compact with poor facilities the noise coming from the BRITTANIA bar across the road was horrendous, they have karaoke every night and you can hear every word, they do close there sound proof doors about 12.30- 1.00 am which does cut out a lot of the noise, (No rooms escape the noise!!!!!) but then you have the mopeds all night long, and the walls are very thin in the apartments so you can hear every word of the next door neighbours. Beware if you get a room on the first floor you can hear everyword of the entertainment downstairs as well. Oh and the lifs are tiny!!
REPS
After complaing to the reps we were moved to a quiter hotel the Gran Playa in Sa Coma which was much better. All the reps kept saying was I don't know why you are complaing as this is a family friendly hotel?? Well for my daughter it was an absolute nightmare as she couldn't get to sleep until gone 1am. The reps rarely turned up when they were meant to be there either.
RESORT
Nice family resort, very, very, expensive, you don't get cheap holiday to spain any more. Superb beach.
Will not be returning to the Sa Coma Platja, was like a Butlins abroad, with kids running amock everywhere, was not my idea of a quiet resort like it says in the brochure

| said: As soon as we arrives in Sa Coma Platja the whole family was impressed straight away. Everyone had a wonderful tan, the hotel looked very impressive and the pool looked great. Once we made our ways to our room we was impressed even more. From our balcony , we could not just see the fantastic pool, but we could see the beach very clearly as well as it was just behind the pool. It was such a good view. At night the entertainer consisted of two great hosts and there were such great nights. The children could go anywhere as it was all so very close.

| said: When i first arrived at the hotel i immediately was very impressed. everything was clean and the staff seemed really helpful. we were shown to our rooom and the facilities were excellent and the staff were really friendly. The entertainment was excellent, Varoline and Kevin were sooo friendly. The britania bar may have been noisy but the last thing you're thinking about is going to bed early on holiday. the staff in Britannia were also amazing. they were always up for a laugh and helpful to all their customers. i have been abroad a number of times but i must say that my visit to Sa Coma Platja was the best holiday ever!
