| said: On arrival we were disappointed where our room was, but not at the layout of the room. (We were in the Kiotari Bay Hotel part of the resort). However the next morning we discussed with the wonderful Nancy and arrangements were made to move on the Saturday (we had arrived Thursday morning). Excellent! We were moved to a room near to the pirate pool which was ideal for us with the age mix of kids.
Food - we went knowing what to expect from an All Inclusive with the reports we had read. To be honest my only complaint was that sometimes some of the food was not hot. So I simply put that food on a sideplate and waited for fresh (hot) to be brought out. Problem solved! There was pasta and chips every day and then a mix of other things. Some people were taking the same dished every day which would get repetitive but by just taking a couple of dishes and veg per day there could be a really varied diet. We loved the souvlaki and the kleftiko, plus the cabbage. At night we had pizza from the snack bar to eat on the way back to the room for the nightcap. The kids found something they liked at each meal every day - and the little ones are fussy eaters! Breakfasts were fine too.
We ate in the a la carte 5 times and varied what we had for main each time. That was really nice and you can eat there every night if you want to (apart from Monday when it is closed)
Staff - loved them all. Nancy on reception was really helpful and friendly, as were the other staff. One of the lovely older ladies was cutting up the hotel towels for us to breathe through when we evacuated due to the fire/smoke. The staff at the pool bar were great and friendly: the evening one knew our 'round' as soon as we came up and was pouring it while we were in the queue. My husband even got his drinks poured and mixed how he liked them. Excellent! Also would mention that there is a lovely greek woman in the site shop - the lady with the american accent - who was really helpful when I needed some assistance and also 'broke' my larger euro banknotes for me. If the rep is not about, or you want to speak to a local about things to do/where to go then go see her.
Site - our room near the pirate pool was great - near to the ampitheatre for the evening shows, near to the snack bar if the little ones wanted to go get a snack or a drink, and near to the main pool for the daytime entertainment.
Sunbeds - I was up at 7.30 each day anyway so would go and lie on a sunbed and read, and reserve another one. There were usually a few spare that that time but I was amazed that normally when the family came to get me at 9 there were only a dozen people actually on the beds. Bit disappointing really but as we had ours I am not complaining (and I did reserve one other beside mine).
Entertainment - the team (Aurelio, Andy, Sam, Rob, Christina and Jo) were great. The boys did the sports and the girls did the kids and the stretching/waterfit/salsa dancing. I took part in everything from water polo to salsa, lazy quiz to football. Activities were basically the same each day (crazy games differed each day) but at least I knew where to be if I wanted to play waterpolo, or when to salsa. Evenign entertainment was okay. Mini disco (which mine LOVE), fire show (did not realise who the fire eater was until the end), samba show, showgirl show, plus some hotel run shows. Not world class but we always watched the shows and enjoyed.
Kids Club - First Choice - BRILLIANT! The oldest went to Wavelength with Dave and Nicky and he loved that. Their own room, events and friends. The gift bags were also really good. Ideal way for 9-15 year olds to make friends and have somewhere to hang out together. The little ones were at Superstars and loved all the staff. There was a good spread of activities and lots of them were educational (like the Bugs session, and the Hula session)too. Its also a good way to get the kids indoors out of the fierce sun into an airconditioned room for a couple of hours!
Room - we had a family room with bathroom, main befdroom and lounge area with sofabeds. We actually put the 3 kids in the main bedroom and slept on the sofabed so that we could sit out on the 'terrace' in the eveings and chat. We had brits to our left and right so usually all ended up on the grass chatting while the kids slept. Only the main bedroom had aircon so we just left the door between the 2 rooms open at night. There was enough space for the 5 of us and we did have enough space for all the clothes.
Is this really a 4* hotel? In my opinion it is not, but it is a perfectly good 3* one. Did we get value for money? I think we did - we were kept busy but could relax, the staff worked hard, the bar staff were lovely, most of the waitresses were lovely. The local brandy was drinkable, the beer was cold, the fizzy orange was nice (the cola was not good). The food was fine and some of the dishes were really good. The pools were really clean, the rooms were clean and the resort was clean.
An enjoyable holiday all round. (apologies for the length of review)

| said: We had to place a review after just returning from this holiday. We booked on a late deal via Teletext 3 weeks prior to we flew out. As being regular visitors to Rhodes we knew where the resort was and that it was some distance (around 50 minutes direct or according to other travellers about two and half hours on the transfer bus) and booked a hire car prior direct from the Airport. I would definately recommend this, the price of transfers fees for two being around £60 the hire car was only £105., and we had the use of this for the week, which we needed due to the location of the Hotel.
We had a sea view superior room at the Miranluna Holiday Village, not the Beach Hotel., although we could use all the facilities at that Hotel also.
The room was lovely and clean and the maid service excellent.
The food was very good with alot of choice, at breakfast, noon and evening meal., and of course the additional snack bars inbetween if you wanted to use them. The tables were cleared quickly and the linen was always fresh. We are not fussy eaters and like to try everything and were not disappointed. You also had the choice if going out for the day to take a packed lunch with you which some of the other residents did. You helped yourselves to as much local wines, drinks and soft drinks as you wanted, and the barman did lovely cocktails in the evening. We travelled in June and the Hotel was possibly about half full which was great and suited us, Im not sure what it would be like at the peak times. There was alot of different pools to try within our Hotel and the Beach Hotel, although our Hotel was the most relaxing and peaceful. There was always sunbeds available.
The staff work extremely hard, always smile, and try to be as helpful as they can.
The entertainment was ok and the staff worked hard to rally people around to join in the games. It was the time of the European football and this was screened everyday in the open air threatre. The entertainment in the evening I feel could be improved , but perhaps this was us, as other families seemed happy. I think
we would stay again at this Hotel, even though we like to try different resorts, but booking in advance is something we never do now. This holiday was around £770 for two of us AI and marvellous value.

| said: we stayed in the Miriluna part of the complex. The family room we stayed in was very clean comfortable and modern. The only downside was that there was no airconditioning in the second bedroom (which you had to walk through in order to reach your patio),so we had to leave our bedroom door open at night so that the kids could benefit from it as well, which sort of defeated the idea of having two bedrooms for a bit of privicy. However we were lucky to be given without requesting a room with a private pool which was great.
All of the hotel was really clean and well presented.
Food was average with plenty of choice and although we had Miriluna wristbands, unlike other reports i have read, we often found the choice and standard better in the Kiotori resturant.Although of course the surroundings were not so plush.
We thought the location was quite isollated but beautifull and although the beach was shingle it was very clean with really good watersports managed by John.
We found the hotel staff to be the most helpfull we had ever come across on our many greek holidays. Nancy on reception was absolutely wonderfull going out of her way to ensure you were happy with everything,as did all the staff.
Entertainment was enough for us as we are not really party people. The entertainment team worked hard to ensure people were enjoying themselves and our two teenagers and younger son loved them.
I would also book direct with the hotel and not through a travel agents as this saves £££'s

| said: I have recently returned from a holiday in Kiotari Bay Miraluna and i have to say it was one of, if not the, best holiday we have ever been on.
The hotel was amazingly clean, as we noticed right from when we arrived at about 6 in the morning. The rooms were cleaned daily, the maids done an amazing job. Towels and bed sheets also changed regularly.
The food in the hotel caters for all extremely well. I found the food to be delicious and there was a very large variety. If a fussy eater, like my children, there isn't much choice, but they were happy enough with pasta, pizza and chips.
The hotel is very remote, but we enjoyed the hotel so much we didn't find the need to leave the hotel more than twice throughout our 2 week stay. Buses stop right outside the hotel, so it is extremely easy to travel to Rhodes Town, Lindos, Pefkos or anywhere else on the island for that matter.
The hotel staff were great. They all worked extremely hard and are a credit to the hotel. They are all very polite and speak good english. Some staff, ie. reception and bar, could speak many languages to cater for everyone staying at the hotel. The restaurant staff are all very polite and speak basic english.
The entertainment was extremely good. The animation team worked so hard to make sure every nationality could be enetertained. There were mainly, Britains, Italians and Germans. Some people comment on the rudeness of the other nationalities, but i found the Brits to be more rude than any other nationality and the Italians and Germans perfectly polite.
I would definetely visit this hotel again without a doubt, and im not the type of person to visit somewhere more than once. I am currently arranging dates for next year.

| said: We were transferred to the hotel quickly enough and shown to our room by the night staff. BUT our room was awful, it hadn't been cleaned and the previous peoples rubbish was still in the bins, their wet towels hung in the bathroom and their sheets were still on the bed!!! They made up our kids beds (they had to take in an old camp bed for our youngest) and got some clean towels for us. It was 6 in the morning and we decided to wait until the morning staff came on and then go and see about sorting the room out. We never got the chance, the Reception were on the phone and asked my hubby to come up and see them, they were very sorry for the mix up and gave us a free upgrade to one of the Mirulana rooms - with a VIP wristband. This was FANTASTIC what a difference, it's true that the 2 hotels are 2 different worlds. Our room had a shower over bath, large wardrobes and dressing table, the bed was 2 singles together which made for a very big double, there was a separate room where the kids had their beds (2 large singles) and a TV which did have BBC News and SKY news. Our patio doors opened onto a nice patio area with loungers, chairs and table another 6 steps and you were in the pool. The snack bar which was open from 9.30am - 12.00am every day was great and the guy was continually cooking fresh food. The best bit was you served your own soft drinks, coffee, beer & wine. The daily free ice cream was also a great hit!!
The meals were good, some days better than others but we never left feeling hungry!! We always found it to be well cooked and hot which was the main thing.
We hardly went in to the Kiatori Hotel but when we did we were so glad we got an upgrade, it just had a feeling of neglect.
Yes we would go back but only to the Miraluna.

| said: Dear All,
I just wanted to cheer up anyone who reads these reports after booking their holiday only to discover not one good write up – its not all bad but like anywhere there are good and bad aspects. I went to Kiotari Bay Hotel with my girlfriend between 12th and 20th September. Below are the facts as we found them.
The hotel is about an hour from the airport. The hotel is two hotels and if you book in the Miraluna then you get a wrist band and you can use both hotel services, but if you book the Kiotari then you can only use the hotel facilities of Kiotari Bay. We did not have a problem with this as there was plenty to do in Kiotari Bay Hotel.
The mix of holiday makers was approx 40% italian, 35% Brits and 25% germans and others.
The weather was very hot (35 degrees minimum every day).
The hotel is on the beach but it’s not a sandy beach, its sharp, stony beach but our room looked out on the sea which was lovely.
The room we was given was a family room, even though there was only 2 of us so we had lots of space. The rooms are twin rooms only and when we asked to move to a room with a double room we was told no rooms had double beds! The room had TV but the only English speaking channel is Sky news.
The rep was called Steve, he was very friendly but we felt he did not go out of his way to assist us.
The hotel is isolated but the hotel has everything you require. There is a bus stop at on the main road which is quite a good service around the island. To be honest we only got the bus as far as Lindos (well worth a trip) but found the bus OK (and cheap – 2 euro one way). The hotel has to call a taxi from the next town and you end up paying the cab fare from the next town to Kiotari bay hotel to where you wish to end up. Saying that it is still quite cheap i.e. 15 euro to Pefkos (which has lovely restaurants, souvenir shops, etc).
The hotel has breakfast, lunch and dinner (food does not vary much each day – but it is nice). In between you have snacks between after breakfast to midnight. Snacks are basic but are OK i.e. chicken nuggets, chips, rolls, etc. They only serve one diet drink (Cola) which to be honest was awful. The beer was OK but the spirits were harsh and strong. If you like cheap spirits then that’s fine but if you prefer your brand Smirnoff, etc then you have to pay for these. We found we went to the pay bar in the evenings (Cocktails 4 and half euro a drink) as these drinks made the night perfect, but if your not fussed there is free booze in the other bars until midnight.
The swimming pools are nice (but cold!!) and we found plenty of sunbeds to relax on.
The staff are very friendly and nearly all speak English to some degree. The animation team work so hard. If you like taking part in lots of activities then they will not let you down.
The evening entertainment is the sort of stuff found in 90% of other hotels and the two nights where the hotel brought in outside entertainment this was very enjoyable, especially the three acrobats (not the Brazilian night too much though).
Would I go back? Perhaps not as I don’t go back to the same place twice but if you want somewhere near a beach, friendly staff, nice food and unlimited drink this is a nice a place than anywhere else.
I hope this helps.
Happy holidays.

| said: We have just returned from the Kiotari Bay-Miraluna resort and we had a great holiday. But can I say that there is a good reason for the double-barrelled resort name because this is a tale of two hotels (and two different types of holidays).
I first booked this holiday with a standard family room but having read the reviews posted on this and other websites, chose to upgrade to a select family room (adding about £400 for four of us) and boy, was it worth it.
When we arrived at the resort it became very clear that going 'select' didn't just mean a better room, it meant a totally different, and in our minds, a much better experience.
The resort is on a long slope with the Kiotari Bay (KB) hotel at the lower end closer to the sea whilst the Miraluna site (run by the german compnay LTI) is at the top end. If you book a standard room you can use the KB hotel facilities and that's it. If you book a select room, you can use the whole resort - and that makes no end of difference. Check out the wrist bands - if you book select you get a VIP band - different from blue KB hotel band.
To start with food - we ate the KB hotel restaurant the first night and because they had had a power cut (a reoccurring theme) it was very hot and crowded. The food was good but the whole atmosphere was chaotic and noisy, the staff close it at certain times because it gets too busy. With a select room you can also eat at the Miraluna restaurant and the next day we went for breakfast and we never looked back.
Whoever wrote that the Miraluna restaurant makes the KB hotel one feel like a canteen is exactly right - it was cool, calm, spacious and the food was (considering this is all inclusive buffet-style) excellent. A great variety, a good choice of greek and family-orientated dishes and helpful staff. Not only this but you can also eat in the Miraluna snack bar which has its own chef who made great gyros at lunch time and (unlike the KB hotel snack bar which was next to arcade games and the pool table) had loads of outside seating next to a pool.
Leading me on to the pools. If you stay in a standard room (and therefore at the KB hotel) you can use the pirate ship pool (fantastic is you have young children) and then the main pool area which for some reason First Choice describe in their brochure as 3 pools - it's not - it's one pool split into three. It is fresh water (all the pools are) but it is crowded and for most of the day the animation team plays loud music. I might sound like a complete kill-joy but believe me, I'm not - I like a buzzy atmosphere but this was way too much for me.
On the other hand, our select room booking allowed us to use the 5 main Miraluna pools, one of which was literally 10 foot from our ground floor room (maybe not so good if you have very small children but great if you have a 12 and 15 year old who like to sleep in later than you, and you can just walk out and lay on a sun bed until they're ready for breakfast).
It was like having a private pool, each pool was generally used only by the rooms surrounding it which meant you could be the only person using it for a quiet swim but then be as boisterous as you like with the kids without getting in other people's way. So if you wanted the lively buzz of the KB hotel pool you could go down there but then return back to the calm of the Miraluna pools when you had had enough.
The other big part of our past holidays has always been the daytime and evening entertainment. We like doing sports during the day and joining in activities such as boules, volleyball and pool games and we usually watched the night show even though our children are now too old to join in the mini disco. Previous reviews had raved about the animation team so we had high hopes. These were swiftly crushed!
The new KB hotel animation team is made up of 5/6 italians - I couldn't tell you their names or even remember their faces. We joined in the volley ball on the beach for the first week but that was about it. My husband arranged a game of boules with the team leader on the second day but he sent along the new girl in the team instead who had only arrived 3 days before and didn't even know how to play - we taught her!
Their evening shows were very poor - badly organised, mainly in italian and really not funny, unless you were aged between 4-10. In fact they were so bad that First Choice had insisted (so a rep told us) that three professional shows had been bought in - and these were very good - an ABBA tribute band, a Pussycat dolls/Girls Aloud band and a troupe of Brazilian acrobats who were brilliant. We stopped going to the animation shows in the end but did go to the First Choice kids talent show which was well run and very cute.
The Miraluna animation team were all german and run their animation programme with expected effienciency. After about a week we started joining in with their activities and enjoyed those, especially the darts and table tennis competitions. They also had an early evening quiz which was fun. Their evening progamme was german-orientated but they did explain things in English and to give them their due, not many English people had been staying at that end of the resort up until then. So if you do go select, try joining in their activities - they have a good selection and they are a nice team - within two days they knew our names and said hello when they saw us - the Italian team greeted me once with a brief nod - and that says it all. The 1 rating for entertainment is for the KB hotel team not for the Miraluna team.
Finally, a few other pointers. If you go 'select' you can use the Miraluna cocktail bar in the evening as part of the all inclusive package rather than paying in the KB hotel Zeus bar. The bar keeper is called Manos and he obviously thinks he looks like Al Pacino (which he does - many young girls hearts were fluttering!) because he has a framed picture of him up on the wall and you have to order your cocktails by saying "Mafia" first - he's a real character and gives the whole thing a bit of personality.
There's a good beach in a small cove called Glystra one bus stop away. Get the bus going towards Lindos and it takes about 3 minutes - we weren't being lazy - the main road doesn't have pavements and the traffic is very fast.
There were power cuts but they didn't last for long but the generator in the KB hotel broke down for 10 days and those in standard rooms had no air conditioning between 12 midnight and 5 am and we were told it was incredibly hot. Meanwhile those of us in the Miraluna end of the resort had to turn our air conditioning down at night because it was so powerful!
We didn't really use the First Choice children's clubs but people seemed very happy with them and given the number of children who joined in the talent show, they were very popular.
So do go but go select - yes it cost more but when you have paid £3700 for a two week holiday, £400 wasn't that much more and it made all the difference. We had a great holiday, those staying at the Kiotari Bay hotel seemed to have a great holiday but I wouldn't stay down that end when I knew what was available yards away - it really was a different world.

We knew it was a very quiet area and all we did was laze around one of the six pools on the many sun beds, the English were just as bad at reserving them as any of the other nationals there so no complaints. The First Choice reps, and entertainers,10 altogether, yes 10,plus the Italian reps, could not have tried harder to keep everyone happy. Special thanks to Katie from Jed for her help.
The hotel is spotless as are the rooms and the food is typical hotel food catering for all tastes we all put on weight!
Nana and granddad went to Rhodes on the Thursday trip whilst we had the kids and they had the kids on Monday so we could have a day there shopping in the old town. Also one night in Lindos is enough, very hot and narrow streets all the shops selling the same tat. A very good holiday, thanks to all the staff, reps and entertainers see you soon.

We have just come back today 13th August 2006 from a FANTASTIC weeks holiday at the Kiotari Bay Hotel in Rhodes.
After reading some of the reviews about this hotel from the moaners who have posted negative things about it (you can’t please everyone all of the time especially some people) all I can say is you won’t be disappointed, my family and I had a great time and will be returning next year.
We did not come across anyone who was not happy with what was on offer at this hotel.
Both the hotel & rooms are spotlessly clean, my family and I loved the food and drink on offer, and the entertainment was great both during the day and on an evening down at the hotels open air theatre, the act which comes on at 9pm till 12 will have your sides splitting with laughter, and as for the Angel was concerned she can sit on my cloud anytime.
Someone mentioned the entertainment was catered for the Germans, this is not the case, it is run for ALL nationalities everybody is invited and everybody has a great time.
You will not find any rowdiness from yobs this is a family hotel, and yes I have to say the Germans/British got on great with each other! YAMAS to the Germans (Greek for cheers)
The swimming pools are very clean and are filled with fresh water not salt water so if you swallow some as I did it’s not a problem, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Hotel staff along with the entertainment crew and the hard working girls from First Choice for giving me and my family a unforgettable holiday, see you next year!!!
tip!
At the end of the day keep your towel fastened to your sun bed/s and when you arrive in the morning sometime your sun bed/s are waiting for you, we did this every night and we had the same sun beds all week (don’t tell the Germans Ha Ha)

| said: We travelled as a large group, and overall had a good holiday.
We found out during our second week if you called at the reception in the Miraluna Village you could get a pass and use their pool, but it was frowned upon if you ate or drank there (this is the picture in the brochure), as you didn't have a band on.
Well done to the animation team Kate, Tom, Jerry, Roy, Aurel, Arthur and DJ Latzi, all hard workers and my kids cried on the way home (they waved us off on our bus) The entertainment in the evening is ok, some shows are fantastic, Greek night is a waste of money (so we were told) - same show is shown on a Sunday nite in the amphitheatre.
Food was Ok, always something to eat and not at all repetitive, no fruit available at the snack bar, only chips, burgers etc, good for kids! drinks are OK, and it is ALWAYS ouzo time when you go to the snack bar! (neck a shot) Don't bother reserving a table for a special occasion, we tried to twice, as we had two birthdays, but there was never a table for us, which was disappointing that we had to spilt up.

| said: Cleanliness of the hotel was very good. The family room was spacious with two separate bedrooms.
Food was good, but not enough variety, especially for children, unless the kids ate at the kids sitting at 6.30pm, which ours never did.
Very busy in the hotel restaurant and pool bar, often queueing for drinks during the day.
Nothing outside the hotel, which we knew before we booked . Bus stop outside is handy for day trips to Pefkos and Lindos, which are well worth the visit.
Entertainment okay if you like that sort of thing. Kids pirate ship and splash pool excellent. Main pool area very poor, too busy, not enough sun beds, deep water. Towels on all sunbeds by 7am (not just the Germans, English mainly).
Kids club good for keeping the kids out of sun for couple of hours a day.
Overall, food and drinks were disappointing, but we still enjoyed ourselves. The weather was excellent and kids had a great time.

| said: The food is cold and repetitive, what you eat in the food hall you get at the snack bar during the day. The food hall is a bun fight, there are not enough tables to accommodate all the guests and people get very angry and do not cue.
The pool bar only has one member of staff working and therefore the queues get rather large - get as many as you can in one time. Don't go to the Greek night it is a total waste of time and if you complain and ask for your money back the animation team do everything they can to avoid you.
The kids club is not free there is quite alot that you have to pay for and it is not run by First Choice.
Beware of over friendly hotel reception staff when you need a taxi or medical attention they are on commission and will do everything they can to send you to a really bad doctor/dentist because they get a cut - even the local taxi drivers will not take you to them!.
My family have stayed at loads of all inclusive hotels and this one is a 2* not a 4.
The bedrooms are tired and if you sleep in watch out you get shouted at by the room cleaners who do not like to be kept waiting or working around your clothes on the floor from the night before.
If you enjoy a budget holiday this one is for you but if you have never been to an all inclusive don't chose this one as it is not value for money and what is stated in the brochure is not what you get.

| said: We arrived at 5am the hotel staff were very friendly, when we got to our room it was very small for the 5 of us,1 of the kids slept in a camp bed but to be honest we were never in our room much so it didnt matter.
The weather was very hot from 8am til 7pm the meals were lovely. The pool bar staff were very nice still kept smiling even although some of the other guests didnt say please and thankyou. The tip jar was always empty please give them a tip now and again they really do deserve it!Loads of Germans and Italians! We didnt use the hotel pool as people were putting towels on the sun beds the night before!
Go down to the private beach it was lovely the watersports were great and the guy that runs it was very friendly.
Didnt want to come home and am in the process of booking again next year.It is very remote but buses and taxis are good and we hired a car for the day from the hotel for 35 euros went to Rhodes lovely old town surrounded by leather and gold shops.Roll on next July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| said: I too read the reviews and really looked forward to what we assumed was to be a great holiday. Not to be at all.
When we arrived the reception staff were very friendly. 5 of us went- me, my partner and 3 kids - 16.14 and 9. We were told our room would be a family room. For what family I don't know but you can't swing a cat in them.
The lighting is terrible, they are carpeted and never vacuumed only swept. Gaping holes under the front door so you sleep with all the creatures looming about during the night (obviously we were ground floor).
Oh yes and I think you should be aware that there is a nice building site next door. Noisy from approx 7 am and it looks like it will be there most of the summer season.
The rooms are not fully air conditioned as stated in the brochure - only one room has a small unit and is pre set to 18 degrees
The sun bed situation - dyer there just aren't enough and the hotel is majority German and Italian so unless you are up early and reserve a bed (which they ask you not too but nobody pays any attention) you wont get one.
The weather - great
The food - very average but edible
The animation team are great - hard workers thats for sure but there is little entertainment at night and bear in mind you are out in the sticks - nothing local for you to go to.
I would not advise anyone to try this hotel, during the 7 days we were there the rep left, another came and the complaints from holiday makers were growing.

| said: Have recently come back from 2 weeks at Kiotari bay in Rhodes, unfortunately it was not as good as we were expecting, We felt that the restaurant was far too small for the amount of people there and there was only 5 high chairs, as 2 families travelling together we needed 2 at every meal which was a struggle to find. The staff are very friendly and do work very hard. We thought the food was very below average for all inclusive (which we go on every year) the fruit and salad were very limited and there were only 7 dishes to choose from every night two of which were always pasta and chips the children's menu was also pasta and chips with bolognaise sauce and the occasional fish finger.
We were very lucky with our rooms as they were right on the main pool area which was lovely and the rooms were very spacious with plenty of wardrobe space too, The english channel on the TV was bbc world. With no children's channel which you seem to get at most all inclusives. I'm sorry to say that the sun beds are few and far between and not only do you have to beat the Germans at there own game but the Italians were reserving there sun beds from the previous day!!
We did have a good holiday as a holiday is what you make it and as we only get one a year you have to make the most of it, but we will not be going back and we will be writing to first choice as a number of things advertised in the brochure were not there, there was no ball bit, bouncy castle, tennis court, giant chess to name a few things.
We met a couple of families who visited Kiotari bay last year and they had said how lovely it had been which is why they had come back but it seems to have gone slightly downhill.
The complex were not very hot on safety & we encountered electricity boxes with fronts missing, broken tiles (which our children cut feet on!!)wires hanging from the ceiling and lots more, so be very careful when you let your children run around....

| said: Hi
Just got back from the Kiotari bay hotel, and what a holiday.
There are about 6-7 pools (bit cold tho) and a lovely indoor pool which is lovely and warm.
The main people who stay here are English, Germans and Italians. But don't worry, you can always get a sun bed, we managed it even after mid-day.
The food was lovely and always hot, they always kept the food in rotation so it was never sat there for ages. Had a great choice of dishes every day, never repetative, altho here was always chips, rice and pasta every day. They even have two chefs on a hot wok cooking. We sat in the outside of the resturant every day which was cooler than inside and we always got a table. If you ever miss any of the meal times, don't worry, just pop across to the other resturant bit and they do hot and cold food in there as well as drinks and ice cream til about 6-7pm (my little boy loved it) and there is about 5 or 6 different flavours.
Hotel staff were great, very friendly and are always smiling.
What we saw of the kids clubs were great, even tho my little fella is only 2 he couldn't go in them, only the creche but decided to keep him with us. They do all different things with them and you could tell the kiddies really enjoyed themselves playing cowboys (and girls) and indians... pirates... playing in the pools etc... There's also a playground there for the little ones... slides, a round-a-bout thing, swings etc, my little one loved it.
The entertainment was great, read some reviews before we went saying nothing was in english, but it was, when we asked the animation guy he said that it was like that last season before he came back but they got it changed as it wasn't fair.
Some of the shows were really funny especially the ladies night, a great laugh.
The english entertainment is down at the ampi theatre from 9pm til 11-11.30, and it starts with a mini disco for the kids which is great fun. lol and then bingo, but don't worry, even that's funny and a show after that!
the kids have a pool with i pirate ship in with slides etc, and another one by it with water jets which is very very shallow.
The rooms were a bit on the basic side, but lets face it, who goes on holiday and spend all their time in their room? It was cleaned every day and to be honest, it was really hot begining of june and i wouldn't want the cleaners job there in that heat!
The on site shop is pretty good, sells a range of things and the american lady is nice and pretty funny and she will take orders for anything you would like, ciggies, booze etc just tell her what you would like and the quantity and she will get them in and you just pick it up.
Every morning the hotel was cleaned... we never saw it dirty and for the amount of people staying there, they had their work cut out.
They are expanding this hotel even more, but you hardly hear the building work and it's outside of the main areas, so nothing is affected!
I would definately come back to this hotel but will stay for 2 weeks next time! We had a lovely time here and if you have booked to come here then you won't be upset unless you're one of those people who are never satisfied with anything. Happy hols!

| said: Had to have this hotel as we booked a 5* all-inclusive hotel elsewhere in Kiotari, but apparently it was over-booked!
This hotel was absolutely apalling and definitely not to be reccommended! Paint peeling off pool. Pool dirty. Rooms dirty. Reception area never cleaned. No way is it a 5*. My rating would be 2* at most.
Food was cold. Canteen area was like a cattle-market. Staff were obviously not happy for us to be there, very unhelpful, moody and downright rude on occasion.
I was in a party of 4 to arrange my wedding at the Rodos village which had been reccommended, we were told we could not use their facilities and feel we have to postpone our wedding plans as we feel we cannot go ahead as planned in case a similar thing happens again.
There was no entertainment as we imagined there would be. The beach area was not of the standard we expected and we had to pay for the sun-beds which we were told we would have included in our package.

| said: We spent the first two weeks of June at the Kiotari Bay on an all inclusive basis. The food was absolutely gorgeous with plenty of choice for the children as well. My two prefer salads to chips and they enjoyed every meal.
The location was lovely and picturesque.
The staff were very helpful as most days I asked them to warm up a baby's bottle and this was no problem.
The entertainment was second to none and I would definitely visit this hotel again without a second thought.

| said: My wife and family arrived at Kiotari on 1 September for 2 weeks.
All our luggage was taken to our room from reception. The hotel had 8 or 9 swimming pools but check out the new ones at the top end they are fantastic, all brand new, 2 adult ones and 1 children’s and the new snack bar. It's a lot quieter at the top section but this suited us.
The food was good, no complaints. The pool bar was great and at night time check out the roof bar.
Car hire was good value. The supermarket was expensive.
Kiotari village 20 min walk, 2 or 3 supermarkets there and the new snack bar at the top is a steak house at night time, just go to reception to book your table. Choice of steak, pork, fish and proper chicken nuggets for children and there’s no charge its part of all inclusive and you can book as often as you like.
We had a fantastic time and will be going again next year
p.s Ask any of the bar staff for a 1.2.3 they will know what you mean it’s a good drink.

| said: Not the 4* we quite expected and the public areas within the hotel were shabby. The hotel is multi cultural with all nationalities catered for. Very quiet and not much to do during the day around the hotel and the no entertainment at all during the evenings.
A very old hotel which could do with a complete refit.
The car rental is very expensive in the hotel, as is the very basic supermarket.
Not the best place we have stayed and I can recommend the Palladium Hotel as we moved there after 2 nights in the 'Hotel time forgot'

| said: on arrival we entered the recepiton area handed over our passports and was given a key, once we found our room and waited for our luggage we needed to ask the porter to explaine why there was no electric! (the white disc on your key ring is for that.)
rooms are basic but ok hair dryer is not worth using and the only english channels are cartoon network and bbc world news. we had a major problem with ants in our room, having to comb them out of our kids hair each morning and shake all our clothing out before wearing them.the hotel in general was clean but the snack bar was at best dirty and infested by flys. kiotari bay is in the middle of nowhere but car hire is cheap. 9 seater for the day was £60. please note the nearest cash point is 2 kms.
the hotel staff apart from ceiro, steve, billy are mostly female and rather rude and moody.
entertainment hmmmmm....what can i say, the first choice kids club reps are fantastic and would have taken them all home but, the animation team were at the best part poor. most if not all was in german and the english were deffinitely a minority and made to feel it. i would visit again but not the hotel.
it clearly states in the first choice book that all inclusive was avalible untill 12pm and ice cream was untill 9pm this is not the case. bar closed at 11.30pm and if you didnt leave at that exact time the doors were closed and the lights turned off. ice cream was removed at 6 pm. this was taken up with our rep and the manager sevaral times to no avail. the all inclusive beer and spirts wernt worth drinking. a lot of people had upset bellies but when mentioned to the rep she insinuated i had brought a bug with me from england and that none else had complained. hmmm i dont think so !!! for a fourtnight?

| said: When we arrived at this hotel I was pleased at what I first saw, the rooms were of a good size, my husband, myself and 10month old son were is one room and my 16 year old daugher and friend in the room next door. There was plenty of room for us even though we had the travel cot. The rooms were cleaned regularly, some days better than others but we had no cause for complaint.
Pool area was great, yes you had to get up to put towels out in order to ensure a bed but I don't know many place that you don't and this was no problem for us as we were awaken about 7.30 by our son.
The food was fantastic, there was everything you could want and the presentation was excellent. The restaurant could be a bit of a free for all at the busyist times but the table were emptied and re-laid immediately someone left so no problem. Staff were great making fuss of Harvey (our son) even picking him up and wandering off for a while to leave us to eat.
My main concern when we arrived seeing that the hotel was somewhat remote was that the girls (aged 16) would be bored. I needn't as they made friends with lots of people, yes hardly any english there but too our shame most of the german kids spoke good english. The girls loved it so much that they are talking of getting a group of friends to return next year. I also spoke to my daughter about getting a week away at end of August and she asked if we could return here!
The entertainment team were great, although this was down to the hotel animation team and the german reps. We only saw 1 First Choice rep in the show once during our stay, but they translate in all languages and the shows are of a high standard and had us laughing alot.
Drinks aren't great but we managed to have quite a few! Zeus bar in a payable cocktail bar 5 euros for a main brands cocktail (3.50 during happy hour 11pm-12pm) and Billy the barman is lovely. Mosquitoes are a problem, I got bitten quite a bit as did my daughter's friend but my husband, son and duaghter didnt have a problem. All in all I have said at many all inclusive resorts and would have no hesitation is returning to this hotel, we all had a great time and they are just finishing a new section which looks very post, steamer chair sun beds and there will be apartments on roof with own pool! which they said would not be much different in price!

| said: Arrived at Kiotari Bay on 16th June 2004 with my husband and two children aged 3 and 19 months. The hotel is in the middle of no-where with Kiotari approx 2k away.
The Hotel was very clean, especially around the pool areas which are brilliant. There is an extremely large childrens pool (the size of an adult pool) being about 2' deep all the way around. There are no blind spots around this pool and the children are safe.
In order to get a sunbed you must be up and about by 7.30am to reserve a bed (although hotel rules say you must not do this). If you do not reserve a bed there will be none available.
They have an awful problem with Mosquitos and everyone was walking around with large red bites all over their bodies. Even recommended insect repellants and those plug-ins do not help.
The all-inclusive food is fantastic with lots of variety. If you cannot find something you like then there would be no pleasing you. Our children ate well during our stay. The drink is appalling. You would need to drink beer constantly for a whole fortnight if you want to feel the slightest bit tipsy (it is very weak and in our opinion it tastes like it is watered down, although we cannot prove this). PLEASE NOTE THE FIRST CHOICE BROCHURE STATES ALL-INCLUSIVE IS AVAILABLE FROM 10.00am UNTIL MIDNIGHT. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. DEAD ON THE DOT AT 11.30pm EVERYTHING CLOSES (YOU CANNOT EVEN GET A CUP OF COFFEE).
The hotel in our opinion is mainly geared for Germans and Italians. English guests are definately the minority. The Italians have their own entertainment venue on a roof terrace where we were not allowed.
The entertainment is mainly run by a German team and out of 14 nights stay, we only had 5 English shows which were prepared by two eastern european brothers working for the hotel who are absolutely fantastic. Even the English football matches in Euro 2004 (shown in the pay bar) had no English commentary.
The childrens disco for English lasted 30 mins whereas the German disco lasted 1 hour.
The entertainment venue is an Amphitheatre. If you are with children in buggies this is not ideal. To get a front row seat is impossible, so you are left to stand. The steps are very steep and slippery and in our opinion not child friendly at all.
For a family hotel it is far from ideal. There is not a single baby-changing facility in the whole hotel.
There is not first-aider on site. To call a Doctor out cost approximately £90. There were no caution signs put up when the marble floors were washed and this was very slippery.
During our stay lots of people had a sickness bug. Cannot say where this came from (don't think it was the food as more people would have been ill, maybe from the pools?)
The only place to sit in the evening with a drink is a dingy snack-bar with no ambience or atmosphere. Not even any background music. We spent a fortune in the pay-bar as this was the only place with atmosphere.
Hotel staff were pleasant enough but not over helpful.
WOULD NOT GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL IF YOU PAID US

| said: We arrived a bit dubious as we had been informed of building work going on, but we didn’t notice or hear anything once we were in the hotel. The hotel has four pools with more being built, they were clean and there were plenty of sunbeds. The rooms were basic but clean and the maids came in six times a week.
The entertainment was great, the hotel has it’s own team of entertainment staff who do a great job keeping you entertained during the day and night, the German guests have there own team and they put on some good shows.
The food was fantastic and we couldn’t fault it at all, every day the selection was great. The bar staff were good fun, but they do think it’s funny to get you to drink Ouzo every time you go to the bar, so there were some bad hangovers going around.
The only downside was the location, but the brochure does tell you it is in a quiet place so we expected it to be quiet, but l found some good runs.
We were going to hire a car, but we found the bus stops right outside the hotel that took us to all the places we wanted to visit and it was quite regular.
We would go back again as we had a great time.
