Had a wonderfull stay at this hotel!

We booked a double room, i had read in other reports that the cheap rooms dont have windows, we paid the cheapest price but we did have a window with a not to bad view so guess we got lucky.

The room itself was pretty nice with a nice comfortable bed, fridge, sky tv nice, lighting, tea coffee making equipment, good shower etc. must admit the decor does look old fashioned and is way, way to busy in that kitch sort of way, but more amusing that annoying. Cleanliness was fine and house keeping was pretty hot as long as you left a sign out for them.

Didnt eat in restaurant but it did look pretty good if not a bit pricey. We did use the bar a few times which is well stocked and really nice.

Staff where generally really nice and would have given a higher mark except my friend said found being a bit sleazy towards her one night (it was really late so not the usual great day staff!) although I dont think it was too major.

The location of this hotel really couldnt be any better, perfect for shopping, arndale centre, print works, canal street, are all really easy walking distance.

Entertainment, well its not that sort of hotel so not really relevant.

So all in all great place not bad rooms and the price is just about right. Was pleasantly surprised

Picked this hotel as it was near to the MEN and the Arndale shopping centre, youngest daughter aged 12 and my eldest daughter aged 20 were going to see Busted at the MEN (the youngest one is the fan, stayed one night, we arrived early and so room was not ready, but left our luggage at the hotel no problem, no charge, staff on reception were helpul and friendly. We had booked a triple room. We had requested a room where the bath doubled up as a jacuzzi, this was really a bath with bubbles, but was told that when we booked. The room was large and clean, there was a double bed and a sofa bed, unfortunately although we found pillows for it there was no bedding, after two attempts at requesting this, the bed was made up, top sheet, bottom sheet and a scratchy blanket as a cover which my daughter promptly discarded as she did not like it!! The double bed was comfy and although my daughter did not complain I did try the sofa bed and it deed not seem comfy to me, you could feel the springs throught it. The hotel corridors had a musty smell. The decor was very old fashioned. There was no proper heating in the room, there was a small electric blow heater. We did not eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the food, we did visit the bar and this was nice, there is a health club but did not have time to visit it. We paid 104 for the room for the night and we all came to the same conclusion, that it was expensive for what we got. The location is good and the reception area is very impressive and the staff were friendly, was ok for a night but we have stayed at the Dolby which is alot cheaper and to be honest we enjoyed our stay there alot more, we just thought we would spoil ourselves a bit.
