Just returned home from a lovely relaxing weeks stay at the Coral with some mixed feelings.

Arrived around 8.30pm and first impressions good . resturant stayed open to 10.30 .

We were given 2 lovely, clean and bright interconnecting rooms. Hotel grounds were lovely and facilities good and there appeared to be plenty to keep our teenagers entertained with basketball, pool tables, table tennis even a disco. Unfortunately though, despite it being Easter week there didn’t appear to be many other teenagers around for them to enjoy the facilities with. There are 2 pools but the main one was not heated and while we were there wasn’t getting a lot of use. The smaller was good for the smaller children and had a very upbeat water gym every day. Both pools had fabulous sunbeds with cushions and pillows and large palm umbrellas with plenty of space.

The beach is fabulous with pedaloes and canoes as part of the A/I and a very good on site dive centre. my family did 3 days diving.

Over the week more teenagers/children arrived and ours did make a few friends. They longed to go in the disco of an evening but there never appeared to be anyone in there although I suspect this could be very different in the summer. It was almost as if even the children there were as chilled as there parents.

The coral is definitely a great place to go for a relaxing holiday and does it with style and knows its clientele well. The hotel has a high number of repeat guests who feel very relaxed and at home here. Every thing is on the flat so is good for anyone with walking difficulties. I would say a large proportion of the guests at this time of year are couples and more mature guests but there was plenty there for children to do and get involved with. Entertainment was good by Egyptian standards .Every night there was a mini disco followed by a live singer then at 10pm they had either a show or some sort of audience participation fun.

The beach was stunning with the same relaxing and chilled out feel as the rest of the hotel with pedaloes and canoes to enjoy as part of the A/I

Our one criticism would be the main restaurant where we felt the food was a little bland with not a great deal of choice. The deserts however were delicious. The service could be a little slow with ordering of drinks and tea and coffee at breakfast and we had often finished our breakfast before we were served coffee/tea. This didn’t fit alongside the other bars/restaurants where service was always excellent and friendly.

On reflection I would say we found it difficult the first few days to relax into the sleepy and subdued environment but over the week we relaxed and appreciated this far more than we thought we would and would certainly enjoy a repeat visit ourselves sometime for a relaxing week in the sun.

As for our children we had no major complaints of boredom from them but felt being boys if they hadn’t spent 3 days diving they may well of found it hard. Teenage girls there seemed to be more than happy to spend their days lying in the sun

All inclusive is an excellent deal. The only money you will need is for tips at the end of your stay.

We had chips served just once in a week, but were spoilt for choice with good wholesome tasty food. Pizzas made to order in the Italian are excellent.

Drinks are generous, and stay fizzy, ice can be trusted to do no harm. Hygiene is amazing and no mosquitos big plus if you are mossy food like me!

Was pleasantly surprised by all aspects of this resort.

Not a place for children as its too hot for them and nothing much to amuse them. Did not notice any child friendly food.

We have been going to this hotel every year since 2002 and would not now think of going anywhere else.To us its like coming home.

The blocks are now all finished and are lovely and we didnt think it could be possible but this year the food was even better.

We sat next to people on the plane who were going to the Hilton for the first time and were a little wary as they had never been to Egypt before,we told them all about the place and by the time we landed they were looking forward to there holiday, they are going back next year.

The staff are great and make a fuss of you. What more can we say we just love it.

This is our fourth visit to the Coral Hilton in Nuweiba. My wife and I travel extensively and this is the only hotel we return to.

The staff are all very friendly and many of them have been there for years. Most speak excellent English.

The hotel is very clean and well run.

To be frank the quality and selection of food appears to have gone down a little since our last visit but there is still a great variety with something for everyone.

The grounds of the hotel are wonderful and well tended. The beach is perfect and spacious so there is no feeling of overcrowding as on some beaches. The hotel is isolated but there is no real need to leave it. Should you wish to leave there are some excellent trips at reasonable cost.

The all inclusive packages are incredible value for money and we will certainly be returning again.

We have just come back from this hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to relax and unwind. We found it wonderful and will go back again one day. The hotel is all inclusive. I guess it has to be as the hotel is quite isolated and there is nowhere in the area to buy food. However the food was mainly good and we did not have any tummy problems whilst we were there. There was not a vast choice of dishes but there was plenty for everyone. The beer was good as was the wine. The spirits however were not so good and I found them quite unpalatable but my husband didn't seem to notice after the first one had gone down.

We stayed in the block 1 rooms. They were very clean and very comfortable. The cleaner Kamel was very pleasant and cleaned daily. We did not have a balcony as we were on the ground floor but this wasn't a problem as there was no shortage of sun beds outside. We had a nice settee and 2 chairs in the area where the upper floors had a balcony. The shower was a walk-in shower and very large.

All the staff were very pleasant, polite, helpful and friendly and made our week long stay marvellous. Most of the staff were male. We encountered 3 female staff.
The location of the hotel is somewhat isolated but is perfect for a get away from it all holiday. The regular nightly walk for many people was down to the jetty to see the fish there. There were lion fish, a barracuda, little blue fish, pipe fish and others. It was quite fascinating. The gardens were well tended and very pleasant. The entertainment could have been improved. However the dancers were very good and the spinning man was brilliant. There didn't seem to be many people staying at the hotel who were interested in the entertainment and there was no shortage of places to sit down. There was also the Shell Disco. We went in there once. The room is smashing but not really our sort of place. My husband loved the hotel during the day but by the end of the week wanted something a little livelier at night. However, he wants to go back again next year as he found it very peaceful and relaxing. We found the hotel to be a lovely place but not for those who want a wild night life.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

My husband and I spent 1 week at this Hotel over Christmas. Our room was in the refurbished block A which was very nice. Considering it was the Hotel Hilton, the food was very much below standard.

I have visited several areas of Egypt and appreciate the food is a little under par, however I expected this Hotel chain to have been a lot better.

The menu was too repetative and more often than not the food was cold. Even the BBQ outside on 2 nights was pathetic. Very little choice and a long queue. although we were on an all inclusive basis, late afternoon we were supposed to have access to snacks at the pool bar.

Supposed is the word, we had to practically beg for a cake to have with our tea/coffee. In the end it wasn't worth the hassle. We just waited for 6.30pm for the buffet restaurant.

The Pizza, Italian restaurant was just as poor. we never even tried the Fish restaurant, friends of ours had a meal there which took almost 2 hours in total to have 2 courses.

They also had to pay for that with a very small discount for all inclusive guests. You can only have icecream from the beach bar throughout the day and nowhere else. The snacks at the beach bar you had to pay for. Very confusing. Certainly inconvenient having to dress and go all the way back to the buffet restaurant for lunch.

The Hotel was very clean in all areas. The gardens were spectacular. Beach area was good. The location was pretty remote. The so called heated pool certainly wasn't warm enough for December.

The staff were very accomodating. The entertainment is poor all over Egypt, however some nights the show was reasonable.Never ventured outside the grounds, too far away from anything.

Me and my partner, both 21 went here with my partners mum for his 21st birthday, and believe me, it was the best 21st he could have had! The first thing I said when we woke up in the morning, is 'we're in paradise'

The grounds are spectacular, and you have a choice of a large swimming pool, and a large heated swimming pool, which isn't really heated!

There is also about 3 places where you can go for a massage, either on the beach, by the pool (with a curtain around you) or in a massage room inside, you can have a massage by either a female or male masseuse, your choice, and at a very low price, I think my partner paid about £10 for an all over massage lasting 1 hour.

There are also activities going on all day on your private beach, including water gymnastics, belly dancing lessons, volley ball, and alot more. Which are all very funny!

The beach is extremely clean with sand, but as you get near to the sea, there are a few pebbles. You get free water pedalos all day everyday. 1 hours FREE snorkeling per person and a choice of water sports at a very low price. And something everyone who visits the Hilton here has to experience is the glass bottom boat, although it doesn't look very nice, it absolutely amazing, they take you right over the coral reefs and you are able to feed the beautiful fish and if your lucky you will get to see the Bedouin families on their hand made boats fishing! also, if you ask and give the beach boy a tip, he will reserve you and your party sun loungers and clean towels.

Now I get to the part about the Bedouin people. I personally did not want to go anywhere near them as I wasn't brave enough, but my partner did, and I watched from the private part of the beach. They meant no harm what so ever, but as soon as they saw his wallet they were begging him to buy almost everything, so he bought what he wanted and literally ran back to me, which was hilarious!

The food was fantastic, the best I've ever tasted, with alot of variety. My partner is a really fussy eater, and he stuffed his face all week so he could try everything.
In the morning, although there wasn't any pork in sight, the breakfast was lovely. The chefs were ready to make you either pancakes with what ever you wanted on them, eggs however you wanted them, or omelette's, along with the buffet food. With freshly made juices and tea or coffee to you table, you cant go wrong (the tea is English and the milk doesn't taste 'off' like it usually does when you go abroad) perfect!!

In the evening, the food is even better, with a BBQ outside. every day of the week they do different cultures of foods, for example, Asian, Egyptian, Italian etc. lunches are also brilliant.

Waiters are so friendly and we made friends with all of them and on the night of my partners birthday, they threw a party for him with birthday cake and balloons and sung to him in Egyptian, which was really great!

The rest of the hotel staff are amazing people, and make your holiday even better. we made a lot of Egyptian friends out there and I can't wait to go back and see them again.

The night time entertainment is not all that great, but because we were so relaxed with the atmosphere, it didn't bother us in the slightest, we just enjoyed relaxing by the pool bar or playing cards or snooker with the hotel staff. Because you are treated with so much respect and have such a great time, you want to give out tips, but don't be tempted, the tips will get taken away from them unless you let the manager know that you want them to have it as a 'gift'. If you do this, the staff will automatically send this to their families who live in Cairo, to give them support! which I think is really nice.

The location of the hotel is strange, when you are driving to it, you can't imagine anything that I have written above, there are occasionally homeless people dressed in rags to cover their 'bits' and they are washing in water they can find, seeing that was a real wake up call to how others live! and what was amazing was seeing a family of camels walking along a deserted bit of land. Fantastic!

To end my review, I would like to say, that if you ever get to go to this fantastic hotel and incredible country, do not hesitate, you will love it without a doubt!!

This was the second holiday to this hotel this year, and once again we had a wonderful time. Shame it was just for a week.

This time we stayed in a superior room as we took my mother who had mobility problems. We thought the resort would be good for her as there are ramps situated by steps, but we did end up borrowing the wheelchair as she found the walks from the room to restaurant etc., quite daunting. No problem for fit people and if she hadn't damaged her knee before the holiday she probably would have managed ok.

Both the Longwood rep and the staff were extremely helpful, and I have to say Longwood were also wonderful in arranging for my mum to be ferried around in a wheelchair at both Gatwick and Taba airports.

Back to the holiday.. It was lovely to see some of the faces of staff that we remembered from our April holiday, Sayed in the restaurant, always beaming, Sammy of course, Adele in the pool bar, very sweet, Mohamed (various), Ahmed the masseur (would recommend his massage for any ladies, and men of course although there is also a female masseur. Very professional, gentle and gives a wonderful massage.) Most of the staff are so lovely and it's the only hotel I have visited where I felt at home again straight away, and where the staff make you feel so welcome. We took my little nephew and he couldn't wait to see Sammy again as he got so much attention on the last holiday. The staff love little children and always play with them.

As soon as we arrived in our room we heard a knock on the door, and two members of staff said welcome back and handed us a plate of scrummy cakes. A nice touch!

We stayed AI and the food was plentiful once again. Cakes are wonderful at lunch and dinner, and freshly squeezed orange juice in the mornings is great with a wide choice of foods! Not so keen on the food in the Abou Lou restaurant and made the mistake of buying two bottles of red wine at £15 each. Didn't realise until we got the bill and if we had known it was this expensive probably would have gone with house red which would have been free.

Our standard room was fine although the bathroom a bit tatty and toilet smelt at times. I know they are in the middle of renovations and block 1 is complete, so will make sure we get that block next time if 2 and 3 aren't finished by next year (oh yes, we will be going back once or twice next year as we love it so much and can get two holidays for the price of what we usually pay for one holiday in the Caribbean).

The entertainment was better than April, so they have tried to improve things, and there is also satellite tv in the rooms if you fancy a quiet night in.

Weather from 6-13th October was fantastic. Sun all day every day and it was 20-21 in the evenings so lovely and warm to sit out in. In April the evenings could be warm or a bit cool and breezier, so next year will take a cardi for the April holiday and just little tops for October.

Well I think that is all, I could keep going on about how lovely it all was but I'm just giving myself post holiday blues. Hope the next 6 months passes quickly!

We have met friends there, who feel the same as we do, PLEASE dont let this "oasis" change, the returning guests, feel the same. Let the drunks go onto where-ever the community accepts them. This is a friendly orientated hotel, were would you find staff anywhere as dedicated. Anyone who complains look at what your paying! You will sit down to three-meals a day at home, and have the service you get there!!!! Stop complaining and value what is here.

We two 50+ year olds recently returned from this resort after an excellent week’s holiday. We were a bit apprehensive after the bombings at Sharm El Sheik but experienced nothing untoward whilst there. The only annoyance was that people who booked after the bombings paid less than us! Because we were only there for a week we just did the one excursion, to the ancient city of Petra in Jordan. It was a 5 am start with four hours travelling each way so that we did not return to the resort until 8.30pm, but it was well worth it. We went by ferry, which was lovely, just our party sitting on the top deck in what looked like armchairs from someone’s house. Our guide, Waleed, was very good, and told us that he had been brought up, one of I think 14 children, in one of the caves in Petra, but went on to get a degree in Archaeology. What can I say about Petra? You must go; it will exceed your wildest expectations.

Our room was in the newly renovated block and was very nice. It was cleaned everyday with fresh towels each time. Alright, the towels had seen better days and were not exactly white and fluffy but they were fine. And of course you get beach and poolside towels too so that cuts down on the bulk in the suitcase.

There were always plenty of seats available around the pools and on the beach at any time. And the sun loungers had mattresses, which is so important for comfort. Apparently they had 80% occupancy while we were there but it was never crowded. I am told that they were 5 members of staff down in the dining room so you could wait a while before being offered a drink but it didn’t affect us particularly. And the variety of food was very good, although my husband did get the runs for most of the holiday. Talking to other guests, most of them had been affected by stomach upsets either on this holiday or on a previous one. And this is the unusual thing about this resort; most people seem to have stayed there before. Martin the Longwood rep said that the resort was in the top ten of returning venues with something like 53% of guests returning. I would like to think that we will one day.

The other highlight, apart from Petra, was the snorkelling. You do get provided with a mask, snorkel and flippers for a maximum of 3 hours a week but we took our own so the fit was much better and the water didn’t get in. I must say thank you to fellow guests H and H for helping us with the snorkelling equipment and showing us where the reefs were.

Look out for the giant turtle that grazes underwater on the seaweed ‘grass’ each morning up until about 11am. And there are two patches of coral in the area, one where you have to walk to the left if looking out to sea and is to be found part way between the 2 buoys as you walk along the beach, about quarter of a mile outside of the resort area. The other patch is more or less directly out from umbrella 13 (to the right as you look out to sea), quite a way out. When you find a cylindrical piece of concrete lying on the bottom of the sea, it’s not very far from that. It was just like swimming in a tropical fish tank, amazing coloured and shaped fish wherever you looked. We took a piece of bread for them from the dining room and were almost nibbled to death!

The evening entertainment was not particularly good and I think the management should improve it. But at least with Sky in the bedrooms you could always watch an English-speaking programme. However, it was always a pleasure to sit under the stars with a warm breeze blowing and a drink in your hand.

Things worth knowing:

· You don’t need to take a hairdryer.

· Take lots of suntan lotion, as the shop on site is expensive. He wanted the equivalent of £12 for a bottle of factor 35! The sun is apparently 30% stronger in this region than anywhere else so you will need higher factors than say the Med. The temperature in the day when we were there was at least 40 degrees!

· The library book exchange is in the beach bar, not in main reception.

Coral Hilton Nuweiba

This was our 2nd visit to this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The staff were wonderful and friendly, service was good. Our room was in block one which has been modernised ,our room was kept immaculate by staff.

Restaurant had plenty of choice [even for me who can't eat spicy food]never less than a dozen deserts to choose from.

Only thing different from before, less staff but still a high standard .

Will go back again soon.
Hope Mustapha from the bar learns to swim before then.

This was the fifth time we had a holiday in Egypt and decided on this hotel because of all the positive reviews on the web. It was not a good experience.

We two moved from block two to block one as our room was terrible - cracked wash basin, peeling bath and funny smell from the toilet. The bedding was stained and the towels grey, this was not four star Hilton! Block one is better but again the towels and bedding were grey and the cleaning was poor. On day three in our new room we joined the beds together to discover that somebody had vomited down the side of the wall and onto the valance. We reported this to the management and it was quickly changed, but is an indication of the hotel cleaning. Also block one is close to the bar which plays very, very loud music until after midnight and the sound proofing is so bad it keeps you awake.

For the first time in any holiday to Egypt we both had an upset tummy and considering the food hygiene we saw not surprising. No temperature checks taken of the buffet food, food left out in the heat for hours and then of poor quality.

Apart from the beer and soft drinks everything else is of poor quality. We ended up drinking our duty free allowance on all inclusive holiday.

This is not a four star holiday and is not my idea of a Hilton hotel.

This was our second time to the Sinai area, and although the first time was to Sharm el Sheik, this hotel was much better. We were greeted by the staff with drinks from the bus and they went out of their way to be friendly.

We moved rooms from the 3rd block to the new 1st block as although the room was nice it was a getting a little tired.

This area is ideally placed if you want to go to St Catherines or Isreal, or even Cairo as my wife and me did all 3.

The food was fantastic and the staff in the restaurant's amazing.

I would definatly recommend this resort to anyone.

Stayed at the coral Hilton Nuweiba with my teenage son, my friend and her children.

We found the hotel to be very clean and well looked after, hotel grounds lovely.

There is a jetty they light up at night where lots of lion fish live.
The food we thought to be good, but a bit more choice in the main dining room would have been nice, we have always had a lot more choice on all inclusive holidays before.

Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, all our kids loved the entertainment guys, and want to go back to see Sammy or Pumba as they nicknamed him.

My friend and I had a good relaxing break; our teenagers had fun in the disco made friends with some sports to do in the day

The younger members of our party had a great time in the pool everyone was happy what more could you ask.

Im 12 years old it was my first time in Egypt and it has to be the best. The staff were brilliant and i loved it. I am definitely going again sometime. Sammy was very funny and friendly, Ahmed was also great. Sayed was the kindest person there he was so funny.

When we went on the glass bottom boat the fish and coral was so amazing and colourful but the heat was intense.

When we landed at taba airport and walked out off the plane it was like stepping into a oven. I really enjoyed the 2 second bus trip from the plane to the airport.

The food in the restaurant was very nice and it was really good because of the choice you could get.

The entertainment was very good after seeing the belly dancer twice and the whirling dervish twice. But everything else was brilliant and I am definitely going again.

This was our honeymoon and on arrival to our room we found a huge chocolate cake in the shape of a heart - how sweet.

Room was looking a little tired but had everything we needed and the AC was fab although a little noisy, we got used to it.

Food was great, with plenty of choice. the Italian was great fun as it is interactive - so you end up making your own dinner!

This was our first all-inclusive holiday and I don't think anything else could match it. We are hoping to return soon with our two boys.

the staff do a fantastic job and work very long hours. The animation team Sammy, Ahmed and Sherif are great fun, they took a bit of shine to my husband and took great pleasure in reminding him how bad he was at water polo!

We have recommended this hotel to all our friends and family and will definitely be returning ourselves in the near future - we have to now, cos we promised Sherif we would bring back a new born with us!

This was my 2nd visit to this hotel, however some of our party had been here on numerous occasions.

Our holiday started by being greeted off the coach after a long journey by the reception staff, with refreshments, that were definitely appreciated. Thank you!

Our room was unfortunately in the old block (still very nice though), as the new block was due to open 4 days into our holiday, but may I say how envious I was of the people staying in those rooms, they looked lovely.

The food in the hotel is excellent and the staff who work extremely long hours in the restaurant are a credit to the hotel. What can I say about Captain Sammy? The man is a legend, however his talents are wasted in the Abou Lou Lou, Captain Sammy should be in the main restaurant in the evening making everyone laugh, and ask him to show you some tricks!

Also try the Aou Lou Lou, absolutely fantastic, the best meal out there, and extremely reasonable, for 5 of us it was an extra £17 but perhaps don't order the French wine, as my uncle found out as it's not in the all inclusive!

Evening entertainment is very basic, We did actually see the Sharm el sheikh international dancers 4 times, and the belly dancer 4 times also, though their routine is varied, and the whirling dervish excellent.

However the antics of the pool bar staff more than make up for any entertainment that you have seen before, Mustapha, all the Mohammed's, Hlim and both Adel's are all excellent people, and annoyingly I did hear people patronising these highly intelligent individuals, if you ask they will tell you that they are all highly educated, but as always they kept their composure.

Sammy, Sherif and Ahmed are all absolute diamonds, although it is their jobs, they did ensure that everyone was welcomed, saying hello to everyone individually.

However play water polo and the welcome might not be so warm, its a complete bloodsport!!! But fun all the same, and if you want to be on the winning side go on Sammy and Ahmed's team.

The rooms were always nicely cleaned, and how the staff put those swans on your beds I'll never know!

What makes this holiday so different is the community feel of the resort, we were not the only returning guests, there were several families. Everyone I spoke to all commentated on the staff and how welcoming and friendly they were. New guests I spoke to said that now they would definitely return.

Make sure you visit the Aviary, Sahed rescues injured birds, it was lovely!

The staff really make this holiday what it is, so a massive thank you to all the staff! And to me you are not staff, you are my friends!!

My only complaint, is that Kamel whom use to work around the pool is now cleaning the rooms, this is such a shame, as if you have ever spent any time talking to Kamel, you know that he is such a friendly, happy individual whose presence is sorely missed around the pool.

Superb hotel, staff are fantastic, if you have not been go and see for yourself.

There are so many staff to mention who work so hard to make you feel at home. From Sahed on the beach to Kamel, now sadly doing the rooms, such a nice man who always has a smile on his face, and a puzzle for you to work out, to all the bar staff.

The rooms are a little tired but I have seen the refurbished rooms and they are really fantastic. Although the older blocks are very clean and well maintained, with clean towels and bed linen everyday. Also sculptures on your bed when you come in from a hard day on the beach. The AC is very welcome

The bar staff are really hard working young men, highly educated and always willing to talk. Ahmed, Sammy, and Sharif all work all day to keep the guests happy, avoid the water polo it gets tasty at times, and still all good fun. I enjoyed the local dancers, the whirling man was different on each occasion and how they keep going for the time that he does is amazing.

Captain Sammy is a joy to behold, as maitre d' he welcomes everyone always has a word and makes sure that your table is serviced. Also he is a very funny man with tricks. The food at all three restaurants is excellent, and you can vary your meals each night. Although my favourite food was the bread budding,(not misspelt), at breakfast, I do miss that.

If you are ill there is a fantastic doctor on site, and I will declare an interest here, on our last two visits I have had need of his services to keep me diving, and he has come through on both occasions, thanks doctor.

On the day I was going home I was stood talking with a man whom I never met and we were discussing what makes this place so special. It is a hotel with nothing around it but sand, it is isolated away from the main town, where there is nothing really anyway, it has a fantastic stretch of beach a few palm trees and well kept gardens. The odd camel or two wandering across the sands or down the road, the bleak yet breathtaking mountain scenery of Sinai and Saudi Arabia, flanking each side of the blue Gulf of Aquba the changing colours of the mountains at sunrise and sunset. You can spend a fortnight there and not realise that the time has passed.

We came to the conclusion, the reason why people return is not for the seclusion of this little oasis of peace, the diving, the hotel itself, but because of the people who work there, they are friends and like all good friends you will always want to meet again. The location and the hotel are just a superb bonus

The best things were how nice the staff were and that we felt very safe and relaxed in the hotel.

A good place for a gentle holiday and being on an all inclusive board basis was great. The food in the main restaurant is fine, a bit samey after a week, but there is a pizza place and, if you want to pay about £22 sterling for a fancy meal, friends told us the a la carte restaurant was top notch.

The rooms in 2 out of 3 of the buildings are a little tired, but I understand they will be done up soon. The bathrooms as they are at the moment need the most attention, mostly a bit of elbow grease to remove grime.

Stayed at the Coral Hilton Nuweiba June 27 through July 11th on AI

Short and Sweet....

First Impressions , wonderfull to look at and greeted with a slighlty strange but nice milky drink , they take your bags to your room for you , we tipped but didnt feel under pressure to.

We were put in a room with two single beds which I found strange seeing as why would a man and a woman spend £1300 to go on holiday together if they werent a `couple` nonethe less , we tried to put the beds together but on removing the table in the middle of the beds , we discovered bare wires and various bits of rubbish !

We were swopped the next day to a room with a double bed and told it was our fault because we didnt specify we wanted a double bed ! Grounds lovley , always men watering the gardens and sweeping the pathways.

Food - Samey , luke warm but service excellent , try the Italian , lovely to sit as a couple and get Sami to take a photo for you

Hotel was isolated , you could walk into Nuweiba but it didnt look very appealing so didnt bother

Staff were exceptional , they were orientated to `returners` we thought but helpful and courteous.

Entertainment , spinning man is good , but on the 5th time...and the belly dancer couldnt look more bored if she tried , and was only on for an hour !

Lovely hotel , and the new rooms they are doing up look nice , but they are painting everywhere bright white at the moment , which just gleams so brightly it doesnt look quite right.

Wouldnt go back but mainly because the worlds a big place.

As novices to fully inclusive holidays and knowing this hotel was isolated we were understandably a little nervous.

What a surprise to find we had booked one of our best holidays ever - The food was excellent as was the beach, amazing views and always enough room to get away from people. The fish around the pier at night were fascinating.

The gardens and all public areas could not have been cleaner.

Yes the rooms were tired but fresh bed linen daily - what a delight. The ac worked, the fridge was kept stocked and little treats of snack items often left for us in our room.

The staff were unbelievably friendly and could not do enough for you. Best staff we've ever come across.

The entertainment - spinning man - not to be missed! However we were happy and tired enough not to care about the evening shows.

This has to have been one of the most relaxing holidays ever. We went on two trips. Petra - fantastic a very very long day but well worth it with an amazing tour guide Ashraf (he grew up in Petra). We also went to the Dead sea another long day but - you have to do it if you are in the area. Least said about the Israeli border the better - appalling treatment of single women in our group. We won't be visiting Israel again - but we will be back to Nuweiba Hilton.

I have recommended this hotel, not something to be done lightly in my mind, and at least 2 other couples have booked on our recommendation. I know they won't be disappointed, just as surely as I know we will return.

Most of the people we chatted to had been to this oasis of peace several times - now we know why. Go!

Having recently experienced my first trip to Egypt staying at the Hilton Nuweiba Coral Beach, I would like to say what an enjoyable time I had. Not only were the facilities at this hotel superb, the staff were happy, friendly and helpful.

One activity offered by the hotel I would definitely recommend is a visit to the masseur Ahmed. Being of fair skin and the weather so hot, despite high sun factor, I suffered from a heat rash. Another hotel guest, having had a massage earlier in the week, suggested that I book an appointment with Ahmed to see if there was an oil that would stop the stinging/itching.

Having had massages in the UK by women only, I was a little nervous about having a massage by a man. However, upon my visit I found Ahmed to be extremely professional, friendly and courteous, thus putting me at ease. Not only did I have a thoroughly relaxing massage, Ahmed recommended an oil for the heat rash – which worked – thus enabling me to continue enjoying my holiday.

Since returning to the UK, I have recommended the Hilton Coral Beach in Nuweiba to my friends, family and work colleagues (a few of which are now going later this year) and have suggested that to further relax from the stresses and strains of home life that they visit Ahmed for a massage in a professional, calming and relaxing atmosphere.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at the hotel for making my stay a pleasurable experience – one that I hope to repeat again soon.

We stayed in the Hilton Coral Bay for 7 nights and were glad it was for only 7 nights! We chose this hotel to get the same standard as Hilton Sharks Bay but a change of location. How wrong can you be.

We thought Taba airport was actually easier than Sharm and Longwoods were their usual efficient self. an hour and thirty mins later after 2 stops we arrived at Coral Bay.
Rooms were fine and a reasonable size and were not as tired as we expected after some of the previous reports.Renovation work on Block 1 did not affect any guests.

Food was a bit limited and along with other vegetarians struggled with lunch/dinner as most of the salads contained meat anyway. Pizza place was nice but pizzas/pasta although freshly cooked seemed to lack flavour as it needed a decent tomato base to work with in both cases.

And there are only so many meals you can eat pizza/pasta. Deserts on the other hand were fab.Location was pretty with lovely gardens and a feeling of space.

Beach was nice but NO good at all for snorkelling as nothing to see.Dive school managemement poor and would not reccomend them unless you are part of a large group and not pre booked.

Entertainment was low key but we had some fun and they were lovely guys.People who had visited this hotel before said standards had dropped and is franchised out but managed by Hilton.

Anyone thinking of booking this hotel I would strongley advise Hilton Sharks Bay instead if you prefer a better standard, fantastic snorkelling and a dive school that cares.

If you want a very quiet location, eat only a little and dont want to snorkel or dive then Coral Bay is for you.

I have already written a review on this hotel (see below), but as I have now returned three times, I wanted to add a few notes which may be useful to others.

I am pleased to say, that our visits only improved each time.

In January, we took our daughter aged 20 and she stayed in an adjacent bungalow to ours which she loved! I have had a sneak preview of the new rooms and have to say although I would still prefer the privacy of the bungalows and would still book those, the new rooms looked fabulous! Wonderful big walk in shower, and lovely new furnishings. I know in the past, the standard of the rooms in the "blocks" has been as issue for some folks, so if this is the case, then do pay the little extra and ask for one of the new upgraded superior rooms if your budget won't go to a bungalow. The staff are VERY proud of their upgrade, and took great delight in showing us around!

If you are travelling in winter, PLEASE...take warm clothes for night time. In January, we were totally unprepared for the dramatic changes of temperature which takes place after sunset. During the day, you can "beach it" but at night, it is totally freezing and you do need to bring clothes to suffice for opposite temperatures! My daughter and I had travelled in cowboy boots and jeans, and we actually ended up having to wear them most nights as it was so cold! I ended up very ill with a terrible chest infection, so yes, I would go back again in January, but I would be much more prepared for the cool evenings! At night in winter, the Italian restaurant is closed, and Abu loo loo only has indoor seating. It was still wonderful though, and for a bit of winter sunshine can highly recommend it!

In May, it was beautiful. The sea was not as abundant with life as it was in October, but perfect, just perfect temperatures.

Entertainment sadly never improved, so do let your feelings be known to the management about entertainment. Unless they hear a voice, it will never change! The disco is empty and I am sure it has to do with the awful music played. I am sure if the management were told by many people, then perhaps they would consider providing entertainment for the majority of the age group who visit there. On one evening, we took along cds from the 70-s to the 90-s and you wouldn't believe how many people stayed on in the disco, it made all the difference.

The beach bar in May was the only dissappointment, and we did complain to the manager about one member of staff in particular. Sorry but arabic music blasting out at 10am when you are trying to relax. Big Mohammed is sorely missed he would played laid back easy listening music to chill to, the rabble going on there was awful!

We would have liked to have seen Mohammed Zaki promoted to Captain. Zaki is loved by many, so if you too are a "Zaki" fan, then let the management know! We wrote to the general manager on our return, and he is putting the comments on Zakis annual review. PLEASE, if you are given the special service Zaki provides at the pool bar, then do let the general manager know he deserves to be a Captain and I know many of you think so, so let them know! He works harder than any other in the whole resort, and unless the general manger knows this he will still be a bar attentendant like any other for many years to come!

The food we felt had improved tremendously! We dined more often in the buffet restaurant than we had done on previous visits.

I am booked to return again this year, although next time will be a new experience as we are travelling in a group of ten ladies, so that will be a fun week!

Oh, incidentally, we spent two days in January at the Sonesta Beach Hotel, supposedly 5 star deluxe. We only moved there as I was so ill and needed indoor nightime facilities. After two days we were on the phone begging the coral to give us our room back!
Katie the rep never laughed so loud!

No matter your walk of life, you cannot help but love this hotel. For a cheap value for money break, nothing can beat it!

Have fun!

The food was great, plenty of choice even for fussy eaters. The Italian was very good and makes a nice change.

Hotel grounds are beautiful and the beach is great. Pool bar is very nice with waitress service if you are sunbathing there.

We went to the beach almost every day, beach bar is great, most of the barmen are stars, especially Halim, and tall Mohammed. Samy the captain is mad, full of jokes, he pours a strong vodka and tonic too!! Mustapha the towel man will learn your name by the second day and remember it too, nothing is too much trouble for them, they are some of the best staff we have ever met.

Entertainment could be a bit more varied, as the hotel is isolated, but it's still ok. The spinning man is amazing.

We have been all over the world and it's one of the best hotels we have stayed in and we hope to go back there soon.

They are currently doing up a section of the rooms at a time and they will be very nice when finished.

The airport was tiny, but it's the only place our suitcases were off and waiting for us before we got through customs - great.

Our holiday began with a delay at Gatwick and the fact that the check-in desks for Astreaus were not open when we arrived at the airport was not helpful. Peltours advise that the minimum check in time is 3 hours, when in reality the desks do not open until 3 hours before the flight.
After the delay the flight was uneventful - it was nice to have a good seat pitch but the aircraft was a little 'tired' - but the cabin staff were very helpful and friendly.

Our arrival at the hotel was very late - long after the restaurant had closed - but a cold supper had been left in the room for us - we much appreciated this.

We had a double room on the second floor. The room and hotel were always very clean. The room itself was starting to become 'tired', and the bathroom & shower are in need of refurbishment.

The staff were always very friendly and helpful.

We did very little all week other than to relax and read by the pool. We were able to sit out in warm sunshine all day, every day, and enjoy the sun, despite the prevailing wind.

Our return journey was equally uneventful.

If you need a week of doing absolutely nothing in quiet and relaxed surroundings then this is the place to go. We would return.

Our day at Gatwick started with the screens showing Desk K for our flight to Taba. After waiting for the checkout to open for about 15 mins we were told by Monarch staff the Taba flight was at Desk J. I never have liked Monarch! We managed to get the last 2 extra legroom seats at a price. £30 each, one way! Excel never charged a penny when Longwood were using them.

Arriving at Taba we queued for the usual eternity at passport control, even though we weren't getting Visas. Walking out the terminal building, my wife (Wendy) held a big bag of pickled onion Monster Munch in front of her face. "Wendy!" came a cry as Katie, the Longwood rep, spotted it. As we were handing her the second large bag, Martyn (area manager) came up to us. Katie gave him one of the bags as he had shared some with her previously. Then we boarded the coach for the trip to the Coral.

On arriving at the Coral, we all checked in with no hassles, as usual. Room 2211, a little dated, but hopefully soon to be rectified. There is no safe in the room, but safety deposit boxes are available at reception. A few days we had little presents left in our room - chocolate covered strawberries, biscuits, fruit etc. Not really needed in our eyes, but a nice touch.

Building 1 is vacant at the moment as refurbishment is due to start. One room is being done to start with, and if all parties involved are happy with the look, refurbishment will start in earnest in April. No finishing date is available as yet. The new manager at the hotel, Sherif Magdy, is a 'darling' as Wendy says. He is very approachable, will talk to you at just about anytime, and can be seen some mornings on his phone while down at the beach. He says this helps him relieve stress.

We were talking to him one evening in reception and he had a windproof lighter with his ciggies. I said that you need one of those with all the wind we were having, so he gave it to me. How nice was that?

As it was dinner time when we got there, we went to the recently refurbished Blue Blue restaurant. Those of you, who have been before and will return, be careful. A step has been added to the smoking section (round to the right). Wendy was not the only one who tripped up it. Staff were tripping up too!

As usual, the food was good, with different themed nights and various dishes. Freshly cooked pizzas were always available at dinner. The sweets were as scrummy as ever. I can't comment on the Abou Lou Lou restaurant as we didn't use this.

The beach seemed to have shrunk a bit. The patch of weed just offshore seemed to have gone out a further 5yds or so. Never mind, the water would be warm. Or so we thought. Wetsuits were the order of our stay while snorkelling. The beach bar was lacking something. Tall Mohammed had left to work in Hurghada. We would have to train these new bartenders!

The water sports centre (where Katie had worked) had disappeared to be replaced by those wooden tables and seats you find in pub gardens. It had been moved next to the basketball 'court'.

We only used the pool bar a couple of times, but we thought that it lacked a little something that you got with big Mohammed.

The grounds of the hotel were immaculate. Gardeners lovingly tended the lawns and flowers. Litter was being picked up whenever it was found (not very often).
Staff would do just about anything to please you. You only had to ask, and if possible, it was done.

We went on a few outings from the hotel. A couple of days after we arrived, Wendy and I went to Eilat to swim with the dolphins. Getting across the border into Israel is as easy as finding a speck of dandruff in a snowstorm! Getting back is easier, but not a great deal.
Next, as it was too windy at the hotel, was a visit to Dahab to see the Blue Hole - a popular site for snorkelling and diving. To get from Dahab to the Blue Hole you go by jeep, as it's along an unmade stretch of land along the coast. There are restaurants there for drinks and food. And the wind had completely vanished with the sea as flat as a pancake. Shame we didn't take our gear!

We also had a visit to St Katherine’s monastery and the White Canyon. St Katherine’s is about 1500m above sea level, so take some warmer clothes. If you want to go inside the monastery, take appropriate clothing, e.g. no shorts are allowed inside. The White Canyon was worth the visit. We didn't actually climb down into the canyon ourselves (wimps) but had a walk along the top. The Bedouin guide made us tea while we were waiting for the others to get back.

Back at Taba airport, Katie told us that a small Duty Free shop had opened the week before. Small is not the word. I've seen bigger telephone boxes. We managed to get extra legroom seats again, thankfully.

The flight home was uneventful, even after the captain introduced himself as 'Dave Lister'. A few sniggers were heard, as were a few renditions of the Red Dwarf theme! Back at Gatwick again all too quick, and a long wait until our next visit to a great hotel.

The only thing that lets this holiday down (apart from the amount of wind we had) is the fact that Longwood’s are now using Monarch instead of Excel. A lot of returning guests said they would have to think twice about going again, and the hotel is a little worried about it.

The food was fab. The service without fault. The cleanliness was 100%. They are always cleaning even though it is already immaculate! The decor in the rooms was in need of a refurb and one of the accommodation blocks is currently closed for such work to start.

There is a huge beach and always plently of space to get away from everyone else! The sea is crystal clear. They rake the beach every morning by hand. They provide beach towels upon request clean every day. If you want to get away from it all - go here.

To sum it up perfectly by a member of staff telling us what there is around the hotel - NOTHING! Sea, mountains and desert. Fab view of Saudi & Sinai mountains.

Can't comment on the entertainment as didn't partake. I know there was beach activities (exercise, darts, volleyball, bellydancing etc). Excellent scuba dive centre within the hotel.

We flew with Monarch,an average charter flight.Ours was the only flight at Taba Airport, 300 tired people and only one man at the immigration desk, met by Longwood rep, coach transfer to Hilton Nuweiba,1hr 45mins.

Longwood rep very efficient,we were given hotel registration cards and our luggage labels with our room numbers. On arrival at hotel greeted by hot towels and a nice drink of hot milk with figs. Check in was very quick and friendly.

Our room was ok,as with other reviews-our opinion the same, clean room, though in serious need of update. Food was of a reasonable standard and always nicely presented,my only niggle is that the soup and hot food toureens were never labelled, so there was a continuous line of people lifting the lid to see what was inside,(sometimes this didnt help)some toureens contained food that was unidentifiable. The hotel must bake its own bread which was varied and delicious. The restaurant staff were efficient, sometimes to a fault, the house red wine was pretty good, the local beer was very cold and wet, this is as much praise as I can give it,the local spirits are to be avoided, they all have the same non descript taste.

One place you must try is the 'Down to Earth' shisha den, smoke flavoured tobaccos using the 'hubbly bubbly'pipe.

The beach and pool areas are meticulously cleaned and always plenty of sunbeds.I did object to having to sign for a beach towel and carry my beach towel card,if a towel is lost a fine of 50 egyptian pounds! The towels were threadbare to say the least.

The entertainment was not that great, maybe because we were off season. The Shell Disco was in need of some recent music, the gardens are beautiful and again, kept immaculately. The Abou lou lou a la carte restaurant, is good but not fantastic,we ate there once,we were given a chefs compliments 'amuse bouche' which consisted of a crab stick(cut in half-for the two of us) with a slice of cucumber and tomato! The following 3 courses were of a good standard though.

There are excursions to go on,though in my opinion they were on the expensive side. We went on the 'camel trek and bedouin feast'- which was stretching the truth somewhat.

Date Visited 29th Nov - 13th Dec

Weather
Mainly Sunny, always a breeze. Average daily temperature 28 Degrees. Hottest day 33 Degrees. You could comfortably sunbathe at 8am. The sun set behind the mountain at about 3:30pm. The temperature at night was cool, a jumper or light jacket would be my recommendation.

Hotel Overall
Absolutely fantastic, probably the best "Land" based holiday we have ever had. Within hours of arriving you become totally chilled out. It is the ONLY holiday we have not wanted to return home at the end, normally we begin to miss home - dog, friends, UK TV etc. Would gladly be still there now.

Cleanliness
Faultless

Rooms
3rd Floor with balcony facing sea
Like the rest of the complex are looking tired. Every day we had some towel sculpturing on our beds. They have excellent Air conditioning (only used once) and brilliant heating (used most evenings) The Superior rooms all seemed to have extra living space but NO balcony and are on the ground floor, you can however sit outside on the footpath!! The bungalows in my opinion didnt warrant the £20 extra per day. We didnt experience that much communal noise in the evening, however the hotel was only a third full.

Bars
Beach Bar - Tall Mohammed is the bar man and a total star, he has a supervisor also called Mohammed (Small & Bold) who is a horrible little man. He totally ignores ladies requesting drinks, if it had not been such a chilled out place I feel I may have re-educated him in politeness. Many guests suggested to the manager that he needs retraining! Back to the bar, it seats approx 12 on bar stools around the bar with a couple of picnic benches scattered around. It is a stunning place to watch the sun go down behind the mountains. Closes after the Sun goes down.

Pool Bar - A strange looking but nice bar, dozen bar stools plus half dozen table & chairs inside. Large patio area outside, apparantly on warmer evenings shows are put on outside, which I would imagine would be very nice. Has a TV showing sky news and the like, NO football though. Afternoon tea is served in here from about 4pm, hotdogs, pancakes and the like.
Downstairs in a little grotto is the Bubbling water den where you can lie around smoking the flavoured tobacco if thats what floats your boat. (additional cost)

Shell Disco - My favourite as every Premier / Champions league game is shown, typical Saturday would involve a full day on the beach and then at 3pm (1pm UK) the first of 3 live games - Heaven. It is displayed on a 42inch TV when not busy and a normal TV behind the bar other times, even when the shows are on.
Shows are in here at 10pm each night, not my thing except for the folklore show, where at the end a male or female dancer spins around on the Spot for what seems like hours taking items of clothing of, (Family Show) its fantastic and colourful. Also has a Pool table (Free)

Lobby Bar - Never managed a drink in here, but it does have a pool table (Free) and snooker table (Additional Cost)

Drinks
Local Stella is Ok even for a Bitter drinker, does tend to bloat you after 10 pints!!!! Red Wine very drinkable and Im quite fussy, White wine my wife says was nice as long as you get Dry not sweet. Rose very nice with lunch. Local Vodka is an acquired taste (Disgusting) Local Brandy is fine after the 3rd glass. Local Gin is just Gin!!! The measures are more than generous and can be added to on request. In your room you get a free bottle (glass) of coke or fanta or sprite. Many guests would request a large plastic beaker full of their Local spirit of choice before retiring to get changed for the evening. Water is provided by the bottle and is always cold. There are ice machines scattered around the complex.

TV
In the rooms you get quite a few (didnt watch much) - Sky news, 2 movie channels, cartoon channel, music channel and an offering from the BBC!!!

Grounds
Extensive, with paths criss crossing, none seem to be direct to anywhere. Very pleasant in the evening as all lit up.

Staff
Absolutely fantastic and as their not "Tip" orientated it gives a very friendly atmosphere. The standing joke was "if you dropped an item of cuttlery at meals a waiter would catch it before it hit the floor. Special mention to 2 waiters Mohammed and Sadaway - Thank You

Entertainment Staff
Ahmed & Sheriff are the stars of the holiday, they encourage you to participate in everything, if you say NO they actually leave you alone. Stretching at 10am - very good spectator sport - Steve your a natural NOT
Volleyball at 11am - very competitive - Ahmed is a sore looser.
Bowls at 3pm - Dull as dishwater
Belly dancing lessons 4pm - Should make a video Sheriff!!!!!!!!

Water Sports
Canoes and Pedaloes are a great laugh especially when the Jet boat comes into port - decent waves. I think you can hire wind surfing kit, there are also water skiing and doughnuts at extra charge. Best of all is the Mask and snorkel, next to the beach bar is the pier, under the pier are hundreds of beautiful coloured fish, its like sticking your head into a giant aquarium. At night the pier is all lit up and the Lion fish come out to feed, told my wife you can stroke them!!!!!!!!

Restaurants
The main one was closed for renovation work, it looked magnificent.

Beach - Buffet meals of varying choices each day, not steaming hot but above average all the same. You can eat inside (People do smoke inside which is quite ignorant when you consider how close others are) or on the veranda overlooking the breath taking scenery - mountains & sea or you can eat in the Giant tent which has a transparent side so you can still admire the scenery. Each evening is a different theme.

Italian - Honestly the best piazza we have ever eaten and we have been to Italy a few times. Top tip if you want Chips just ask and they will make them for you, our group didnt discover this until week 2. Super pasta.

Pools
Massive main pool, to cold to go in but very clean, plenty of sun loungers, never saw a soul on them.
Heated smaller pool - heating was turned off as a customer complained it was like swimming in a bath, hotel never managed to get round to turning back on. Again plenty of sun loungers, fairly quite.

Beach
About 300 meters long with an abundance of sun loungers, you could still get a spot at 11am. Sea was cold as you got in but once in was wonderful. Beach is raked every morning, would suggest some sandals for in the water as quite a lot of stones and coral.

Guests
A lot of Russians as their hotel should have been the Taba Hilton, apparantly not normally any. The Russians have a special skill, it seems they dont use phones to call Home, they just shout, unfortunatly they often forget there not calling home and are indeed talking (shouting) to the person next to them. With out sterotyping they were very rude people especially to the staff. We did however meet a very nice Russian family / group. We made some great friends, thanks especially to Mark & Harriet and Michael & Cindy for adding to the wonderful holiday. We are already discussing a reunion for next year. Thank You.

Alternative Things to do
We went to Dahab for the day which was interesting, other than that there is nothing local. It is a small Oasis of peace and quite. Longwoods do plenty of excursions, mainly involving at least 12 hours on a coach!!!! those who did them said they wouldnt again except Cairo which was worth 7 hours each way on the coach as it overnights in Cairo.

Flights
Flew into Taba from Manchester with Longwoods (Booked through Jet line as they were £120 each cheaper than Longwoods themselves!!!!!!!!!!!) 5 hour fligh with no in flight entertainment, not the best way to travel. Thank you to all parents of young children who did not take this holiday, there was only 1 screaming monster and that family were at the front. Dont take young children to Egypt there is nothing for them to do, except get bored and disrupt other guests.

Overall
Would I go back? - Tomorrow, realistically we would go May or October when the days are longer but its not to hot.
How to make it better? - Get a wall screen for the football, No seriously, make it Adults only, as you can probably gather there is nothing to make it better. The new Restaurant is meant to be the best in the Sinai, it did look lovely.

To everyone we met - Thanks, you all added to the experience in your own ways.

To the staff - You are without doubt the politest people I have ever met and you all make the holiday second to none. Except Mohammed the little supervisor who I would employ in a remote Antartic research centre counting snowflakes!!

Ahmed (Entertainment) thanks for being you. One day you will win a game of Volleyball or Pool, see you next year for the rematches.

To anyone who hasnt been - GO

Any questions I'll be pleased to answer

We stayed at the Hilton Nuweiba over the 2004 New Year, for 10 days. We chose this hotel having read the previous reviews and we totally agree with everything.

The hotel/resort is right on a long stretch of beach, great for swimming, water sports, snorkelling and diving. There are lots of sun-loungers on the beach with shade and you can change your beach towels as often as you wish during the day. The beach bar is perfectly adequate and there are beach activities like morning stretching lessons, volley ball and basketball, and other facilities like pedalos, banana boat, water skiing etc.

The hotel is made up of 3 buildings on 3 floors and all have great views of the beautiful gardens and from the top floor you have sea-view. The grounds are all landscaped with lawns, beautiful flower beds with buganvilleas and palms, lots of birds, lovely looked after every day by the gardeners, very pleasant to stroll.

I agree that the rooms + bathrooms are a bit tired and should be refurbished, but nevertheless comfortable, with TV + hairdried. As we only spent time in the room for sleeping, this was a minor point.

There is plenty of staff all-round, for cleaning, room service, ground staff, reception and the all important restaurant staff. All with a smile, very attentive, friendly and nothing is too much trouble, they all say hello whenever they see you. The standard was excellent and the same level throughout our stay. We have spoken to guests at other hotels in Taba and some of them where not happy with other 5-star hotels (like Hyatt) where service was very slow.

Nuweiba is still quite under-developed therefore if you want lots of evening entertainment (clubs, bars, outside restaurants, shops, bazars etc etc) go to Sharm. Nuweiba is for relaxation, although as I said above there are plenty of activities in the resort +excursions you can take. And you will make friends with other guests!.

The location is good for trips into Israel and Jordan. We went to Masada in Israel and to a visit to a spa by the Dead Sea and "floated" in the sea, which was quite an experience. Also available is a trip to Petra in Jordan, which is a long journey but worth getting up early. You can also do a shopping trip to Eilat in Israel + swim with the dolphins, or to Dahab further south towards Sharm.
To summarise the Hilton is a great hotel to stay with excellent service in a wonderful location just by the beach, and we thoroughly recommend it.

Just returned from our second visit to The Coral Hilton, this time for Christmas and New Year. This is certainly one of the cleanest hotels that I have ever visited! Although previous reviews, including mine, have remarked on the rooms needing a little upgrading, this is apparently now in hand, with renovation beginning in the next month.

We upgraded to a bungalow on this visit (do it at the hotel and not through your travel company!). Can't speak for the others but our unit was totally spotless.
No black marks on the paintwork even! The only fault that I could find was that the shower rail was a bit loose.

My rating for the food is the same as last time. Good selection, maybe could be a little hotter, but overall very good value for the cost of this hotel. The main restaurant has just been completely refurbished and is quite lovely. The staff in this restaurant, and the others on site, is just "memorable". I just have to mention the New Years Eve Gala dinner, no extra charge.
We ate king prawns, carpaccio of beef, smoked duck and other goodies. For Egypt it was special!

The Coral's location, between Nuweiba Port and Nuweiba City, is a little remote, but there are onsite shops and a bank which mean that you do not need to go outside the hotel if you do not wish to. There is a travel company onsite as well who can take you to all the popular excursion places like the coloured canyon, Mount Sinai, Eilat, Petra etc., etc.

Having been lucky enough,on our first visit, in October, to swim with Olin, the wild dolphin and her family, we were absolutely distraught to learn of her recent death, at the age of 31 years. Hopefully her companions will continue to return and delight the guests with their prescence in future.

Now, we come to the hotel staff! What can I say? With maybe one or two exceptions out of 190+, you will not find a bunch of more friendly, obliging and happy people anywhere! Their level of service is outstanding and their friendship is genuine. Can't be faulted! By the way, how many times have your kids seen Santa Claus come along a magnificent beach on Christmas morning, riding a camel?

Entertainment is adequate but could be improved. Then again, would we want the prices to go up to achieve this? I think not!

We are returning for our third visit in March 2005 and are counting the days already!

WOW! That pretty much sums up this hotel. The rooms may need a lick of paint as has been said by others, but as the room is only somewhere to sleep and get changed in, this didn't detract from the holiday one bit.

The staff were out of this world, with even the gardeners stopping to say good morning as you pass. The waiting staff in the bars and restaurants were so attentive that you weren't even able to top your glass with water from a bottle without them rushing to come and do it for you. They also provided table service, something I have never come across in an all inclusive resort before.

The food on offer was always top class too, especially the deserts. Be warned that you are likely to put on weight during your stay... There was a wide variety and each night was themed in the main restaurant (which is stunning now they have refurbished it). If you don't fancy that, I'd highly recommend the Italian that is also covered by your all inclusive. They will cook pizzas and pasta dished exactly to your liking...

The grounds were also amazing, with an army of gardeners and groundsmen trimming bushes, cutting the grass, watering the gardens and sweeping the paths on a daily basis... They even mop the outside paths... These grounds lead right up to the private beach, with its sun loungers and beach bar... The beach was raked every night we were there to ensure the sand is soft and spotless every morning.

Off the hotel grounds to the left is the house reef, which provides excellent snorkeling opportunities or scuba diving with the dive school within the hotel if you're more adventurous. Getting in the water was a bit of a shock in December, but once you were in you didn't feel the cold. For non-swimmers, an evening stroll on the lit up pier is a must to see the resident lion fish and other marine life. I would strongly recommend the snorkeling to anyone, though...

All in all a fantastic week away. I just can't wait to go again...

Travelled on 1st flight from Glasgow to Sharm el Sheik, (no mention of this by pilot! Thomas cook airlines.) All given visa cards to be filled out before landing, told you must have a visa!. £15 English only.

Airport a bit chaotic, but not that bad, expected worse. Transfer to Nuweiba Hilton took about 2 hours, with 2 stops at checkpoints.

On arrival we were given hot drinks and towels to freshen up, very nice. Hotel is quite basic but very clean, spread over 3 main buildings, with lovely gardens, and some bungalows, which are larger with patio area.

2 pools, the smaller being heated, very nice. We loved the beach area, saw the dolphins on 3 occasions. The staff are very attentive and friendly, Food was fine, as was the drinks. weather in the 80s. excellent.

Coral resort is one of the best hotels we have been to, all you read about on the reviews is true, they clean 24/7. The rooms we think are very nice but a bit tired, you have a jumbo sized bed, telly, coffee, tea, fridge filled every day with water, coke, fanta and sprite.

Hairdryer in the bathroom is a bit slow , your room views are great, the gardens are a joy, the food to die for, the staff are very helpful and friendly. Going back next year.

We were not sure what to expect from this holiday as we usually book villa/apartment self catering holidays so this was something completly new.

Arrived late but check-in was quick and efficient and a tray of food brought to our room. Allocated two interconnecting rooms, one double and one twin as requested. Plenty big enough although might be tight on space if using the third bed. In need of some redocoration, but was a
