| said: La Luna is a lovely complex. There is a bit of a steep hill up to it - but it is worth it for the views! The walk also helps to work off all the extra weight gained from the gorgeous food and of course all the holiday beer!
Dimitris and Roula manage La Luna. They are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They somehow seem to remember everyone's name - which is a nice personal touch. We didn't eat at the snack bar very often but when we did - everything was delicious. The BBQ on Sunday was very good but the wasps were a real problem and it put us off going the following week.
Our room was very clean upon arrival but I did feel that the cleaners could have cleaned it a bit better during our stay. Not sure if it was because we were sometimes in the room when they arrived. My parents had no complaints at all - their room was kept spotless for the 2 weeks.
I would definitely recommend La Luna to anyone ... the only problem is that Dimitris and Roula are not going to be there next year.

Dimitris and Rula are fantastic hosts and make you feel very welcome. The greek salad, their home made chips and frosted glasses to serve the draft Amstell in were top quality as was the weekly BBQ.
There is an extensive choice of music to listen to round the pool bar and a good selection of paperbacks if you forget to pack on or need more to read.
The cleaners were great and came 6 days a week and the holiday rep was around regularly if you needed him. Will go back to la Luna it is a lovely place with a relaxed atmosphere.

| said: La Luna was on a steep hill, but in a quiet pleasant area with a lovely beach just a short, but steepish walk away.
The wasps are a problem.
The air con is expensive, our 1 bed appt cost 40euros per week per unit, one unit upstairs and one unit downstairs, if you open the doors the air con goes off, our bedroom was basically in the roof and it was boiling, and there was not one fan in any part of the appt, so we had to have the air con, and 160 euros unexpectidly is a lot out of your budget, and the safe( ha-ha) was 25 euros for each week, and it wasnt even bolted to anything !!
The pool is small and the sunbeds do get 'reserved' early.
Dimitri does try to calm the unruly children in the pool.
The cleaners are the quickest in town, not sure what they ever did ? and the note on our mirror of "give them a big tip" just irratated me.
However the club sandwich and chips were great, and our sea view was the best. But we wont be going there ever again.

| said: Spent 2 weeks in July at La Luna. Studio apartment was good and far better than any other we had stayed in Greece. Views were fab, though hill was a climb it was worth it. Ive just read previous comments and probably can sympathasise with guests staying in ground/basement level apartments as the view cannot be as good and they must be pretty dark. We were lucky however having 2 x 1st floor studios. I liked being away from the hustle and bustle of town, La Luna is situated definitely in the quieter and more chilled part of the island.
The pool I felt was a little small for the amount of guests at La Luna and the area was very crowded at times. I would rather swim in the sea (just a short walk away) than fight with all the inflatables in pool!
Dimitri and Rula worked very hard and long hours to please all their guests, met some nice families around the pool bar in the evenings.

| said: I am an avid fan of Greek holidays and this was the best I have ever had. My children loved it my 17 year old niece loved it and even my husband who doesn't do holidays in the heat enjoyed himself enough to be booking up again for this year. La Luna is well run, clean and the staff are friendly. We had a two bedroom apartment with two bathrooms. The view from the balcony alone was worth the walk.
Dimitri makes real chips and my children consider him a god for this alone and are still talking about him and the holiday after all this time.
We'll be back again in June.

| said: The La Luna is an excellent complex set at the top of a hill with stunning views overlooking Troulos bay. The hill is VERY steep so is definitely unsuitable for anyone with walking difficulties.
This is easily the best self catering accommodation we have stayed in during our many visits to Greece. they are almost hotel standard. There are "acres" of storage space for your clothes. Many times we have practically lived out of suitcases, but not here! The bathroom was very spacious with a separate area with a washbasin and huge mirrors with excellent lighting. The bedroom again, was very spacious and surprise surprise, we even had a kettle! We have always had to boil our water in a saucepan before! Our rooms were cleaned every day apart from Sundays, towels were changed every other day and bed linen twice a week.
The large swimming pool had plenty of sunbeds and a great pool bar where Dimitri and Rula are available to cook breakfasts and snacks throughout the day.
They will serve drinks at the bar until the last customer goes to bed so don't expect anyone to be serving breakfast much before 10am!!
They are a very friendly couple and are always on hand if you have a problem with your accommodation or need any information about the island etc. (Dimitri is also the manager of the complex)
The pool barbeque on Sunday evenings is also excellent. As much food as you can eat and a great night where all the guests can get to know each other. Combined with the excellent music provided at the bar this is one night where hardly anyone goes to bed early.
All in all, an excellent stay. We will definitely return.....and for 2 weeks instead of one!

| said: La Luna is a beautiful hotel set high in the hills giving excellent views over the bay. As other guests have commented, there is a steep walk from the road but the effort is well worth it.
There is a good five minute walk into the main resort of Troulos but plenty of good little bars and restaurants along the way.
The rooms at La Luna were kept very clean by friendly, unobtrusive staff. They were well furnished with a full bath, ours had a terrace rather than a balcony and this was appreciated with a lively toddler who enjoys climbing!
Dimitri and Rula made our holiday. They were both extremely friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our little boy unfortunately did not take well to Greek food but every day Dimitri would make him a plate of chips, cheese and tuna (which was not on the menu) to ensure he ate something. All children were made a fuss of and Lucas was heart broken when we had to leave. Six months on and he still talks of them.
We hired a car for 4 days at a cost of about £100 but to be honest the bus service and taxi's are a better choice. The buses run frequently along the main part of the island and to get to those secluded beaches you can get a taxi and ask the driver to return for you later in the day. We also hired a motor boat from the beach for the day which was good value and a great way to enjoy the coast line.
As a rule we do not normally revisit a resort however if we were to return to Skiathos, La Luna would be a cert.

| said: We have just come back from Troulos staying at the Luna aprtments and can certainly see why it has had some great reviews and why people go back year after year. Unsurprisingly there is already not a great deal of availabliity for next year but also try eclipsedirect as well as first choice as they are actually the same company and split the availability.
We had a ground floor two bedroom apartment which had everything we needed, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom and a bedroom in the kitchen/dining area - a proper bed not a sofa bed. What I didn't realise was that it had 2 bathrooms which was brilliant. Not full bath, just a midi sort of size, the en suite was more of a shower cubicle size! We always had decent full. power hot water.
There was a large balcony with fantastic views across the countryisde to the side and over Troulos bay to the front. We never heard any noise from the bar as it was set back in the seperate block. In fact the first week we never heard a sound from anywhere at night, sadly it cannot be said about the second week when a family of furniture removers moved in upstairs! The floors are tiled and they always came in after us at night and proceed to scrape the furniture across the floor and bang around like idiots for at least and hour and then start again at 8 in the morning - sometimes earlier. I would say that these apartments are pretty well as soundproof as any normal house - these people were just selfish inconsidorate planks. Any apartment with tiled floors makes a noise, it just takes a bit of considoration!
Moan over!!
The pool is an ok size and the terraces are clean and well equipped with sun beds and sunshades, also plenty of tables and chairs with shade. Again all with terrific views. the bar was well stocked and resonable prices. Dimitries and Rula do all the food and we never had a bad snack at all. There is his famous hand cut chips (well worth the wait - fantastic) salads, of which i have to say we had the best Greek salads there over anywhere else - and we had a few! Other things include breakfasts, pizza, sandwiches etc etc.
You must do the Sunday night BBQ - all you can eat, chops, chicken, fab sausages, greek salad, baked spuds etc etc. The chops were huge and fantastic tasting! Dimitries and Rula and the rest of the staff work hard to make sure the evening is a success and we ended up talking to loads of people and had a great time.
There are steps down to the road and then down a track to a lovely course sand beach. We always stayed at the Luna end of the beach in front of the snack bar there. The beach was much much quieter and spaced out sun loungers and the snack bar was brilliant for lunch in a beautiful garden. Watch the wasps mind, one flew up my partners shorts and stung his inner thigh - very painful!!

Love it love it! hope to see Rula and Dimitris wedding pics this time. They do make your holiday, great hosts and work so hard. How Dem remembers all ya drinks I will never know. Felt really safe for the kids too! My son arrived with toothache and Dim was really helpful in getting him sorted.
Not the island for sight seeing people it is just for chilling, having nice food and drinks. Met loads of nice people.
Ps don't tell everyone cause they will all want to go!!!!

| said: La Luna has the most outstanding views you can imagine especially if you book during the full moon its breath taking.
Apartment rooms were very good on a two storey system with an air con upstairs and down stairs built you have to pay for two and making 80 euros a week not to bad be warned no one seems keen to take plastic of any kind or travellers cheques! just had cash it did come as a bit of a surprise.
The staff were fantastic Dimitri is very laid back and friendly everything operates from the bar reception is never manned you will find him at the bar working!
Food very basic just to cover eating by the pool burgers/sandwiches cooked breakies and very reasonable pizza all very tasty though and they finish serving at 9pm.
Nothing other than the bar/cafe on site and the pool nearest shop down the hill about 1/4 of a mile the walk back is hard going the whole apartment complex is on slope it was 95 steep steps to our apartment mind you the bar is half way!!
Cleaners in 12 of the 14 days made beds swept floor emptied the bin!! You know the no toilet paper down the toilet bin! a quick basic clear up.

| said: First time staying in skiathos, we previoulsy flew in on route to Skopeleos and wanted to come back for a better look!
The accommodation is every bit as good as everyone says. It was more like a hotel room than a studio. We had a kettle, toaster, reading lights, bath, shower curtain, bath mat.(if you are a frequent greek visitor you will be saying, thats not greek!!!) tidied every day, it was very nice.
I believe we may have been in a refurbished block, not sure, but I didn't hear anyone complaining. It is a quiet time to go so not much happening in the bar but staff all still very friendly and relaxed.
The walk up to the studios is steep, no 2 ways about it, this is on a hill, but by the end of the week I was really used to it and have to say my legs were in a better condition when we left!

My wife and I have been on our own and with other couples and family. We have made good friends not only with the staff, in particular, Dimitris but other return guests who, like ouselves, keep going back to our Greek home as we see it.
The place has an aura about it that makes it stand out from other locations on the island. Always clean. Simplistic beauty, a freshness that never dulls. No fighting for facilities and every opportunity to either join in with socialising at the pool or doing your own thing.
A briiliant base to explore the island.
Views that are stunning from all rooms, the bar, the pool. Absolutely brilliant.

the whole place is beautifully kept with flowers everywhere and well tended, Dimitri the manager makes the best home made chips with your lunch and shouts you from youre lounger when its ready. I love it.
When we come from the beach at 5 ish theres always a welcome and a cold lager and "why not" from Dimitri he certainly makes our holiday he plays fantastic music to relax by the pool, we check he's still there before we book.
p.s. we're going again next week.

BBQ night was very good and food excellent, although stated breakfast can be bought at the food bar this was never obtainable due to the very late nights the staff had serving customers, sometimes until 06.30 am. However there is a notice to say breaksfast available when staff get up. Service was not usually available until around 11-12 o clock. Hotel location fantastic, sea views stunning and plenty of transport to get from a to b. Located on very steep hill be prepared to become out of breath at some point. Hotel staff very friendly and entertaining. Would certainly visit again.
