| said: The wife and I have stayed 5 times at the Marialena and would not consider staying anywhere else in Skiathos.
We found the appartments by accident, and what a find it was.
The owners as well as the staff are fantastic, even had a lift off of the gardener one night back from town. The attention to detail and the hospitallity are second to none.
George the owner has one answer, "yes, now whats the question" first class host.
The appartments are spotless, as is the rest of the complex.
Maria's cooking is prolly the best on the island, if you like Greek cusine, with a fresh home cooked flair.
The walk from the main drag to the appartments is as much of the night out as the dinning/ drinking. We've heard other guest refer to the lane as the "grizzly mile" but most of these had very young children. Most other guests relish it as you get a feel of rurel Greece

| said: Marialena - is an absolute gem. The 11 apartments are nestled in a beautiful little valley which has the most amazing views. The apartments are large, modern and very well appointed and kept spotlessly clean.
The grounds are well looked after, with a lovely pool area. The staff were more than friendly, their attitude on arrival made you feel immediatley welcome - Simon, speaks very good english which will put you at your ease.
The food was good - Maria's spinach parcels made a great starter as did her meatballs. I can safely say that on those evenings when it really is too much effort to leave the grounds for the tavernas down the track, when all you want to do is kick back, then the food, the bar and the company really are as good as any elsewhere to do just that.
I readily admit that I thought twice about giving a review - heck when you find a place this good you want to keep it to yourself - but in all fairness to Marialena, to George,Simon and Maria they do deserve the credit and acknowledgement for giving us a great holiday. We will be back.
One, just one possible negative point for other readers (it wasn't for us) the apartments are about 850m from the main road and about 950m from the beach and most of the apartments are on the hillside (which gives great views), but for those with walking or other disabilities it may give cause for concern. The track meanwhile from the apatments to the mainroad is a pleasant stroll with the odd hotel bar, supermarket, taverna or farm animal along the way.

| said: Excellent place to go on holiday, family that run the Marielena make a fab job of it.
Profesional and very freindly. It only has a small number of apartments but all are nicely decorated , large, have air con, and are cleaned daily.
The bar is the central meeting area and all customers and family that run the place sit and chat together over food and drinks. I can safely say one of the nicest places i have stayed in.
Beach about 15 min walk, supermarket about 5 mins walk.

| said: First class accommodation,with modern plumbing, rooms cleaned and fresh towels every day. Peaceful and quiet location with very friendly staff. I would certainly recommend for a relaxing holiday.

| said: The Marialena is such a lovely place to stay.
Set back off the main road it will take you approx 10 mins from the aprtments to walk to the road and a further 5 mins to the beach. The walk itself is down a road lined with apartments fields and the occasional animal(we saw cows, goats, sheep, horses and a short necked Llama)this road is lit at night and in high season will have quite a few people using it.
I cannot fault the Marialena, we stayed there as it had just opened for the season and George the owner, his wife Maria, his daughter Helen and her son Harry and also Georges nephew Simon made us feel at home and so welcome.
The apartments were cleaned everyday (even though were were told it would be 6 days a week). The pool bar does drinks and food all day until you go to bed and on a Saturday they have a BBQ with more food than you can possibly eat.
I would love to go back the Marialena again and in fact probably will.

| said: an excellent set of apatments set in tranquil surroundings , the cleanliness and apartments themselves were beautiful, the staff can't be more helpful, the foof is also lovely. As for entertainment there wasn't anything planned or arranged, so its evenings spent round the bar and the staff who become good friends are all the entertainment you need- overall brilliant and i will definatly be going again
